Ask a tough question, and you'll get a meaty answer. These cards, laid out in Patrick Coq's 7 Card Past (1)/Present (4)/Future (7) Spread are to be read in sequence from left to right, with cards 2-3 & 5-6 tying the whole together. These particular cards are the result of my putting off some pressing closure/Shadow Work business originally planned for earlier this month. Visually speaking-there's a progression from a defeat at the hands of ruling powers (follow the Wand as it is passed)-Death, King & Emperor-to shaking off their rulership-Eight Wands against the "ruling" One-thus closing an old chapter and freeing up forces that had been restrained-9, HP, WoF, & Knight. The Nine of Wands represents the present moment-a shakeup from the status quo-and with it, an opportunity to then get things moving in a new direction. I've spent the last week meditating on these cards and they're still revealing new things. And for me, the procrastinating prognosticator-it's a lesson learned : that the shadow always waits.
