~noon time on a Friday~
Kenna walks into her studio ready for another day of filming and shirtless guys. She would normally film 3-4 videos a day but sometimes she got lucky with only 1 or 2. As she walked towards her dressing room, her director, John, ran up and stopped her.
John: Just who I was looking for. I need to talk to you about something.
Kenna looked up at him while tilting her head. Being 5′5 and talking to someone who is 5′11 wasn’t very easy. Her eyes scanned his body slyly before she made eye contact with him again. It wasn’t much of a secret around the studio that Kenna and John were hooking up since it had been going on for a few weeks now. It wasn’t that Kenna had feelings for John but the fact that he was there for her in one of her weakest moments and they have continued hooking up since. He wasn’t as rude as the other guys were to her, but he did hurt her a few times while having fun or he gets to rough while they are doing it. She chewed the inside of her lip gently before answering,
Kenna: What’s up? Everything okay?
She asked as she turned her body to face him, her arms crossed and bag slung over her shoulder. John smiles as he stared down at the tiny women standing in front of him,
John: Yeah, everything is fine. I just wanted to let you know you have a new filming partner today. His name is Jack, he’s 23 and he’ll be here any minute so I would hurry up and get ready if I was you.
Kenna nodded her head, tucking her hair behind her ear.
Kenna: Okay, thank you. I’ll be out soon
She smiled softly as she started heading for the dressing room, John stopping her once again by grabbing her waist gently and pulling her to his chest. He gently placed his lips on hers, feeling like a feather. He pulled away after a minute and smiled a crooked smile,
John: Sorry just had to give you beautiful lips a good afternoon kiss. I’ll see you out there.
Kenna pushed her hair back as she watched John walk away. She shook her head as she walked into her dressing room. She laid out her outfits and all the tools she needed for her makeup and hair, which was a lot. The directors always had an exact picture of how she should be dressed for every film she makes. She sighed softly, sitting down in front of her vanity and starting to do her makeup.

Once her makeup was finished, she moved on to styling her hair. She wasn’t going to do something crazy since hair is always the first thing that gets messed up when filming so she keeps it simple by doing two Dutch braids.

After getting her look perfected, it was time for Kenna to get changed into the outfit she would be wearing for the first film. She had many different outfits but wanted to impress this new guy, hoping he wasn’t a creep like the rest and that she would actually get along with him. She looked through her outfits before landing on red lace lingerie, something she has rarely worn. She knew that if she wore it, it would irritate John but they weren’t dating and only hooking up, plus she can wear what she wants.

As soon as Kenna was done getting ready, she put her robe on and walked out to find John and the new guy...what was his name again? Jake? She shook her head, giggling slightly at herself for not remembering. She found John by the exit, his back facing her. She made her way over and cleared her throat slightly to get his attention. He quickly turned around, smiling a bit. As Kenna looked at him, she saw this handsome young guy behind him. Well, she could only assume he’s handsome because John was covering half his face with his body.
John: Oh! There you are! I was just coming to find you. This is Jack,
He tells her as he steps to the side, revealing the human who was hidden behind him. That was his name! Her mind screamed after hearing his name, how could you forget that name ever again after seeing him?! Kenna’s eyes studied the guy in front of her, smiling slightly she introduced herself,
Kenna: Hi! I’m Kenna, it’s so nice to be working with you today.
Jack smiled as he kept his eyes on her face. His smile was warm and kind but you could tell he was nervous. He extended his hand towards her,
Jack: Nice to meet you. I should really say it’s an honor to be working with you. You are famous and all.
He admits as he chuckles nervously. Kenna giggled as she nodded,
Kenna: I guess you could say that
She shrugged as she held her robe closed. John cleared his throat,
John: Well now that you guys met each other let’s get to filming. Jack if youd follow us
John says without another word and starts heading off to the area they are filming at. Kenna smiles as she walks next to Jack, looking over at him. He wasn’t as tall as John but also wasn’t as short as she was, making it easier for her to look at him. She scrambled her brain to find questions to ask but he started talking before she settled on one.
Jack: So, i’m new to this whole..thing so i’m sorry if i mess up. If anything happens that hurts you please let me know, i would hate to hurt you.
He says softly, looking down at the floor. Kenna’s heart melts. He is so sweet and...pure and caring. He doesn’t even know he yet and he’s already trying to look out for her, unlike everyone else. She can’t help but smile, her eyes lighting up but looking away as she answers him.
Kenna: There’s no way you could mess this up,
She reassures him.
Kenna: I can pretty much handle anything but I’ll let you know if I get hurt...Thank you that was really sweet. Not many guys are like that.
Jack’s brows furrow as he listens to her talk, glancing over at the beautiful girl beside hime.
Jack: They aren’t?
Kenna shakes her head, opening her mouth to answer but being interrupted by John, who was now facing them and irritated look on his face.
John: Okay so, you both know what the setting is for the film. Kenna you’re gonna start on the bed and Jack will walk in on you. Jack, go stand off to the side of the filming spot.
Jack nods,  smiling slightly at Kenna before walking over to place he was told to. Kenna takes her robe off and starts heading for the bed, stopping when John grabs her arm. He looks down at her, moving his face extremely close to hers.
John: You better not enjoy this
He said quietly, jealousy lacing his words. Kenna looked at him and rolled her eyes,
Kenna: We are not a couple. I can do whatever I want. Just cause we hook up doesn’t mean I have to hate the sex I film
She said sternly before pulling away and walking to the bed. She shakes her head, trying to get John out of her mind and focus on Jack. She lays down on the bed, gently running her hands over her body and closing her eyes. She couldn’t help but imagine what Jack was gonna be like, now she just needed to wait on him.

Hollywood Fix (d.s.)
Tumblr media
Daniel always loved to spend time with his girlfriend, but since Why Don’t We’s album release back in January, all of his effort went into making music at the studio. Out of sheer love and passion for creating, his thoughts would be filled with new song ideas or random melodies he hummed quietly before bed. Daniel and Y/n only met up sometimes throughout the past few weeks. Y/n was busy herself of course. With homework piling up (literally) and work right after school, she hardly had time to come over, and when she did it was for a little while. Daniel would notice her slightly less cheerful mood when they’d FaceTime before saying goodnight every night. He wanted to remind his girlfriend how much he loved her.
With his Friday night free of work, he made a reservation for dinner, sending Y/n a fake urgent message to surprise her when she’d come over that same evening.
Y/n, I need you please come over
The door burst open just ten minutes later. Y/n leaned her arm on the door handle, tired and breathless as she scanned the kitchen and living room. “Daniel!” She called; her voice wavered in panic. The eerie silence of the house only made her more anxious. Daniel was crouched behind the grey L-shaped sofa in the living room, biting back the giddy laughter that tried to fall past his lips. Kobe squealed and squirmed as he saw Y/n and Daniel tried his best to shush the puppy in his arms as he watched her quietly.
“Daniel? Where are you? You got me all worried!” She yelled again, kicking her shoes off at the door out of habit. She walked over to the counter to set her keys down and as she lowered her gaze, she noticed Daniel’s phone sitting on the tabletop, readily showing the confirmation email for his reservation at the restaurant he’d talked about on their nightly call the night before.
Daniel lingered behind the couch a little longer than intended just to see her neutral lips curve into a toothed smile and he let Kobe leap out of his arms when he stood up. “Surprise!” He shouted happily, a small bouquet of flowers in his hand.
Y/n shot back in surprise, wide eyed and open mouthed. After a few seconds of trying to wrap her mind around the fact her boyfriend was standing right there, she ran into his arms with a squeal, pressing her hand to her mouth as she giggled. “Dani!” She exclaimed, snuggling into his warm embrace. “I missed you!”
“Hey, my love.” Daniel kissed the top of her head. He dropped the flowers onto the couch and smoothed out the wisps of her hair with his free hand soothingly. “I missed you too.” He said quietly, learning back to press a few soft kisses to her lips.
Y/n stepped back and smacked his shoulder playfully, her joyous expression veiled with annoyed furrows. “You scared me, you dummy! No wonder that text was sketchy.” She tisked.
“Hey! I had to think quick, okay?” Daniel defended. He pulled her back into a tight hug and Y/n let them linger in each other’s arms for a moment before rushing over to the flowers she glanced at.
The bouquet of tulips slipped slightly in the brown paper wrapping, as fresh and soft as the sunset that bloomed outside. Y/n looked down at them fondly. Her fingers stretched out to touch the petals and she stared up at Daniel with a pout on her lips. “These are so pretty,” She pressed a hand to her heart and wobbled on the tips of her toes to give Daniel a kiss. He gladly accepted, sliding his arms around her waist and dipping her down just a little to kiss her deeper.
---
“Thanks for taking me out, Daniel. I needed this.” Y/n said sweetly, squeezing her grip of his hand as they sauntered down the footpath. He looked beside him and gave Y/n a warm kiss on the cheek, “don’t thank me yet," he whispered into her ear.
Daniel made a reservation at a newly opened restaurant downtown and as soon as he finally told Y/n, she ran to her brand new, emerald dress she hadn’t even touched yet, nearly ecstatic that she’d finally have an occasion to wear it. Daniel thought her excitement was cute, and on their extra slow walk to the restaurant - just to savour each other's presence - he complimented and flirted with her every chance he could. Teasing glares, blushing cheeks and light chatter filled their walk, until Y/n noticed...a crowd of people in the distance, near the restaurant’s entrance. She’d thought that they were merely there for dinner, since the place just opened and all, but they seemed like they...were waiting. Suddenly, it seemed all too familiar. She stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and peered at the large cluster of people through a narrowed gaze. Daniel stood beside her, confused. Y/n heard the high-pitched screams of what must’ve been excited fans and saw their small signs held up by flailing arms.
“Is that Hollywood Fix?” Y/n asked, gently tugging at Daniel’s hand.
Daniel met her gaze. His white button up shirt rose and fell with the soft evening breeze that murmured along the lit-up trees around them. “Very funny, Y/n.” He tisked.
“No, seriously. Look over there” Y/n shot her hand up to point at the bright blinks of light getting closer and closer.
Daniel lifted his gaze, noticing the black exterior of the cameras peeking through the mass of people. “Wh-what? What do we do?” Daniel paused in thought for a second, “Should we hide?” He puckered his eyebrows towards his girlfriend.
“No, you dummy!” Y/n slapped his arm. “Just let go of my hand...” She spoke gingerly, unravelling her fingers from his and she stepped further to the side of the footpath, “and... we’ll just have to stand further apart.”
Daniel nodded after a few seconds and wrung his hands nervously. “Okay, okay. Act natural.” He cleared his throat and raked a hand through his hair.
“You call that natural…” Y/n giggled, pressing a manicured hand to her mouth.
Daniel glared at her with a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. “Baby-” He started, only to get cut off by the sound of photos and fans right in front of him.
The interviewer nearly ran into Daniel in excitement. “Hey, Daniel! How’s it going dude?” He spoke with a sort of enthusiastic haste, shoving the microphone just below his chin as he waited for an answer. Y/n walked backwards to follow behind the both of them. She left a decent space between the two young men who talked. She was silent.
“It’s going well,” Daniel started, “how are you?”
“I’m great. What’s going on with the band? Any music coming soon?” The interviewer pulled a grin towards Daniel as they both weaved through the group of young people. Multiple camera guys walked backwards behind them too, catching every word that Daniel uttered through the mic. Daniel paused at times to give a fan a hug, or take pictures and sign autographs, but Y/n kept her distance. She walked silently down the walkway.
“Yeah, yeah. You know, we’ve got some stuff ready..” Daniel shrugged with a cheeky smile.
“Anyone with you tonight, or…?” The interviewer piped up. Y/n couldn’t help but lift her gaze at the question and she turned to Daniel to hear his reply.
Y/n hoped with everything in her that he’d say the truth, what they both wanted to finally tell the world but felt too scared or anxious to say. She, at times, loved the secrecy of their relationship. It was freeing not to worry about what his fans would think, but at the same time, it felt almost humiliating, like she was a dirty secret that his management didn’t want to crawl out his band’s perfect boyband image.
Daniel looked towards the interviewer with a toothy smile and bowed his head as he racked his brain for a lie. He stuttered out a “Nah...n- not right now, the band should be here soon though.” and let a strained smile play on his lips.
Y/n gulped hard at his words and dropped her gaze to her feet walking over the cracks of the footpaths, precariously trying not to step on them. It was a little game she always played when she was nervous. Daniel and the interviewer exchanged conversation while Daniel continued meeting his fans. Y/n tried to plaster on a friendly smile as they talked just in case she might appear in the frame, but after a few long moments, she let her lips droop into a frown.
She quickened her pace and slipped past them with an expressionless glare that wandered anywhere but them. Daniel noticed her but shrugged it off, watching her walk to the host stand.
The autumn sky met Y/n’s gaze. It was the perfect shade of orange, coloured by the slanting rays of the setting sun and she let her face soften at the sight of it. “It says here the reservation for Daniel Seavey is for two people?” The hostess glanced up.
Y/n drifted her head back towards the lady and smiled. “Yeah, he’ll be joining me later,” Y/n replied quietly. The hostess nodded and continued checking her in.
“Alright dude, we’ll see you later!” The interviewer shouted.
“Nice meeting you, bye!” Daniel couldn’t have been more thankful that the conversation finally ended. He let out a relieved sigh and studied the crowd for his girlfriend, but she had already disappeared through the doorway. He huffed and walked over to the host stand, mindlessly tapping his foot against the concrete as another couple checked in. The cameras kept filming from a few paces away until they watched him enter the restaurant.
On opening night, the restaurant was bustling and glowing with overlapping chatter and vibrancy. Fairy lights were strung along the ceiling and across the freshly painted walls. Y/n had made her way over to the table Daniel had booked. She smiled down at the vase of tulips that sat on the centre of the table and stuck at her fingers to pick one out and smell it.
“Y/n!” Daniel called through the loud room behind her. His voice startled Y/n and she popped the soft pink tulip back in the vase, watching it slip back into the water as Daniel settled into the seat across from her. “Hey, where’d you go?” He asked, panting slightly from rushing in so fast.
“I...” Y/n paused and thought about what she would tell him, but merely sighed and shook her head seconds later. “Nowhere, it’s fine.” She said, fidgeting with the gentle, green silk of her dress. “I’m just so hungry that I couldn’t wait.” She pulled a smile towards Daniel, but of course, he wasn’t fooled.
“Y/n,” He glared at her teasingly. “You could’ve waited for me,” he said gently.
“Oh and watch you lie about our relationship?” She murmured, lifting her glare to Daniel. “No thanks,” she unfolded the napkin a little too harshly and watched the petals of the flowers shake.
Daniel frowned towards her. “Lie? Wh-what are you talking about?”
“You lied Daniel... said you weren’t with anyone tonight.” she mumbled. Daniel opened his mouth to say something but the waiter behind Y/n walking towards the table stopped him.
“You know I can’t say that we’re together, Y/n.” Daniel whispered as the waiter lingered between them, pouring their glasses of water.
“I know, but you said you talked to management about it.” She lifted her gaze to Daniel and met his eyes with an equally upset expression.
Daniel stayed silent.
“You didn’t talk to them, did you?” Y/n asked.
Daniel sighed and leaned forward in his chair. “It’s not that simple, Y/n. You can’t have everything the way you want it.” He slid his hand across the table to tuck his hand in hers, but Y/n drew her arm back and dropped her gaze to the table. “Y/n,” he spoke gently. “Hey, listen to me,”
Y/n didn’t look up.
“My love, please, I planned this date so we could have fun, and not have to worry about all this other stuff.”
“It’s not just all this other stuff, Daniel. This is our relationship. Doesn’t it upset you that we can’t post about each other? Or that I can’t be there for you when you perform? Or that I can’t even be within 3 feet of you when we’re in public ‘cos your fans will go crazy?!” Y/n hadn’t realised how loud her voice had become until she received awkward glances from other customers. She leaned back in her seat and huffed. A roiling anger took root within her, and even though she tried to hide it, Daniel could see the tears pooling her eyes. They both took a few moments to calm down amidst the lively buzz of the restaurant.
“Yeah, it bothers me, Y/n. You’re right, I’ll try...and talk to them. You know, maybe they won’t agree at first but I’m not gonna give up, okay?” Daniel spoke up gently. Y/n nodded and let a small smile tug at the corners of her lips. She let their hands meet in the middle and intertwine.
“I love you...and we’ll find a way to figure this out, okay?” Daniel said, pulling a fake pout towards her. Y/n giggled lightly and pressed her fingers to the corner of her watery eyes carefully.
“M’kay...I love you.” Daniel leaned in again and held her face with his palm. Their noses bumped lightly before their lips met. They kissed, softly at first, then as Daniel turned Y/n’s head slightly, their kiss intensified, kindled by the heavy emotions released seconds ago and love that radiated from them, as strong and vivid as the warm lights surrounding them.

Pairing: Jack Avery x Reader
Summary: An alternate universe where everyone has a dark mark showing where their soulmate first touches them.
Warning(s): None
Word Count: 1970
A/N: So, this ended up a lot longer than I expected it to… I truly enjoyed writing this, please let me know what you think.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is 6:45 AM on a Friday morning, and I am on my way to kindergarten. I love working with little kids, but now that summer is approaching, they are all hyped up and somehow even more energetic than usual. It has been a long week, and I am ready for a weekend to unwind and sleep. I pull into the parking lot at 7 AM and meet Maisie and Levi inside. Maisie is my boss, she’s 62 years old and has been working here almost as long as this place has existed. Levi is 28 and started working here three years ago, a couple of months before me. Today it is only us three working, seeing as a lot of the parents pick up their kids early on Fridays.
Levi and I are on our way outside to make sure everything is ready for the children. Forecast says there will be plenty of sunshine today, making it a perfect day to spend out in the garden. “Y/N, I need you in here! Levi you head outside.” Maisie calls out when we open the door. “What do you need?” I ask her. “Adrian arrived 20 minuets ago and he is sitting alone in the drawing room. Could you go keep him company until the others get here?” I look at her with a puzzled expression, “Why did he come so early? I mean, we still don’t officially open until 15 minutes.” Maisie shakes her head and tells me his mother had a meeting out of state and had to leave early. “She told me yesterday, so I got here at 6:30.” I smile at her, thinking there aren’t many people who would go to work earlier to help out the way Maisie does.
I walk into the drawing room and head over to Adrian who is sitting at a table surrounded by paper and colored pencils. “Hi there Adrian, would you mind if I joined you?” He shakes his head without looking up, focusing on the drawing in front of him. “What are you drawing?” I ask, trying to get a look of his work. He sighs and looks up at me, a frown on his face. “I’m trying to draw me and my parents in our garden, but I can’t draw flowers.” “Hmmm”, I put my hand on my chin, making an exaggerated thinking-face. “I might have something to help you.” I use my key to open a cabinet and take out our arts-and-crafts box. I put it on the table, and take out stickers, stamps, gemstones and glue and help Adrian make a colorful garden with flowers, butterflies and everything else he wants to add.
“Hey, what’s that mark on your hand?” Adrian had stayed silent, working intently on his drawing, but now his focus is fixed on my right hand. I glance down, dropping the colored pencil I was drawing with and placing my hand flat on the table. “It’s a soulmate mark”, I tell him, seeing confusion spread across his face. I smile slightly at his innocence before explaining further, “It shows up as you get closer to meeting your soulmate, marking the place where they first touch you.” I trace the outline of the dark brown shape that covers the back of my hand. “Does that mean you will meet your soulmate soon?” Adrian asks, examining my hand. “Unfortunately, I don’t know. It can be in two days or two years; you can never be sure exactly when it will happen.” Adrian carefully lifts his hand and places it on top of mine, trying to cover my mark. His hand is much too small to fit, but I smile at the gesture. “What will happen when your soulmate touches the mark?” he enquires. “I think it fades to a lighter color, but it never disappears.” Adrian nods his head, pulls his hand away and turns back to his drawing.
Other kids start showing up, and as some of them join Adrian, I head over to Maisie to go over the schedule for today. As planned, we spend most of the day outside in the sun, joyful shrieks and children’s laughter filling the air. A few parents come to pick up their children at 1 PM, and by 2:30 only two kids remain. Levi plays with them outside, while Maisie and I start cleaning up inside. Once all the kids have been collected, Levi comes to help us. With all three of us we have the place tidied up and spotless in no time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back home I take a shower and wash my hair, make myself a cup of tea, and sit down on my couch with a book. My friend Theresa calls me just as I reach a cliffhanger, and I consider just ignoring her but decide against it. “You are joining me at a party tonight!” It’s always straight to the point with her, never any sugarcoating. However, I am really tired and not feeling up for a party tonight. I tell her as much, but she is determined, arguing back, “Nope, you have been around little kids all week, you need to socialize with people your own age!” I tell her that I have coworkers my age, but she ignores me, proceeding to talk about her roommate’s friend’s cousin’s party at an apparently mansion-like house. “If I say I’ll come, will you stop talking?” I half joke, cutting her off. She instantly agrees, telling me she’ll pick me up at eight, before hanging up. I pick up my book again, deciding to just enjoy my alone time before I have to start getting ready.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theresa wasn’t kidding when she labeled the place as mansion-like. The house is gigantic, complete with the fancy entrance, (containing, you guessed it, a chandelier), and a huge pool in the back. Loud party-music is blasting from speakers in every room I enter. There are tons of people here, and though I know quite a few of them, I’m still not in the mood to mingle. I make my way up a grand staircase, searching for a place less crowded and hopefully somewhat quiet. As I am contemplating finding Theresa and telling her I’ll just take an Uber home, I spot a figure sitting crouched up in the corner of the hallway. It’s a guy dressed in all black clothes, with hair so curly I’m thinking he has to have had it done in a hair salon. His knees are pulled up to his head, covering his face, and his arms are wrapped around his legs. His hands are covered in rings, and one of them displays part of a tattoo. I am struck by the sudden desire to know everything about him and his tattoo. When did he get it? How does the whole thing look? Is there a meaning behind it? Does he have any others? I shake my head and collect my thoughts. My friends always joke about how I was destined to work in a kindergarten, because of what they call my “mom-instincts”. I don’t know if that is a real thing, but upon seeing his crouched-up figure, I have an urge to comfort the boy.
I walk over to him, clearing my throat a little before speaking softly, “Hey, are you okay?” He just shrugs his shoulders, and I slide down to the floor beside him, making sure to maintain some distance between us. “Is there anything I can do for you?” I keep going in my soothing voice, trained up from years of speaking to scared children. The curly-headed guy shakes his head, still not looking up. I move a little closer and gently place my right hand on his left cheek to get him to look at me. “Hey” I say again, this time a hint of concern latched into my voice. He finally looks at me, and I am dazed by the deep brown eyes staring into mine. After a second of sitting in silence gazing into each other’s eyes, his grow wide, and he moves his left hand, covering my right one. At first, I think he’s going to yank my hand away and leave, but he simply presses it closer to his face, his mouth parting slightly. It takes a moment before I feel it. A burning sensation that starts on the back of my hand and spreads through my whole body. I let out a gasp, but it’s not from pain. I am on fire, but it doesn’t hurt. It’s a feeling, not only of warmth, but also love and home and belonging all at once. It is overwhelming, yet I never want it to fade.
A sudden stinging spreads over the back of my hand, making me pull it away from the boy’s face. Looking down at it I see the previous dark brown mark, now turned into only a shadow of the hand that touched my skin. Looking back up at the boy sitting in front of me, I see a shadow of a hand, my hand, marking his cheek. I reach out to touch his soulmate mark again, smiling at the realization of what this means. “I’m Y/N”, I say as I move my hand, signaling him to shake it. He takes it, and that wonderful burning feeling runs up my arm. “I’m Jack”, he replies, his face breaking into a smile, making his eyes close slightly and his nose scrunch up adorably. I feel myself become weak in the knees, and I’m thankful for already being seated on the floor.
Jack is playing with my hand, and when I look down at his tattoo I remember why I approached him in the first place. I’m not usually good at talking to strangers, unless they are young children, but something about knowing this is my soulmate, my person, makes me feel brave. I decide to take a page out of Theresa’s book, and be blunt about my thoughts. “I know we just met, but do you want to talk about why you were sitting alone, looking so sad?” Jack meets my eyes, his smile staying put, though I notice some of his happiness fade away. He looks away for a second, taking a breath before re-counting the events of the night. Apparently his friends has been tauntinghim for years, thinking his first encounter with his soulmate would end with a slap in the face. “It just really got to me. I have three sisters, and I never understood how I could do something that would hurt or offend my soulmate enough to hit me.” “I’m sorry”, I say and start to pull my hand away, feeling at fault for the misleading placement of his mark. “Nonono”, Jack grabs my hand with his and uses the other to tilt my head, forcing me to look him in the eyes again. “This is not your fault, okay?” He must be able to see the doubt in my eyes because he lets go of my hand, using both of his to cup my cheeks, and tilts his face close to mine. “I wouldn’t have had any of this in a different way, as it led me to you.” His voice is filled with sincerity, and his eyes examine every detail on my face, landing on my lips. My heart is beating so loudly I’m certain he can hear it, but all I can think about is how his lips would feel on mine. My breath is caught in my throat as I feel his lips lightly touching mine, all the distance between us vanishing. We are pulled towards each other, and with every touch of his lips and hands I feel my body catching fire, the overwhelming feeling returning, leaving only a single thought in my head; Jack.
Zach decided to be stupid and throw mine in the pool, completely damaging the board. It wasn't just randomly though, we had gotten into a fight because he said I had caused us to 'lose our duo in Fortnite', which is total bs.
As we strolled in, my eyes immediately scanned the wall of skateboard decks in the back of the store, walking away from my friends.
Jonah and Corbyn looked at the shoes on the wall and Daniel and Zach browsed through the Champion shirts folded on display.
I glanced up and down the rows of skateboard decks, seeing colorful decks and ornate patterns printed on the back of them.
"Do you need any help?" A soft voice interrupted my thoughts and I peered to where the noise was coming from. Turning around, I laid my eyes upon one of the most beautiful girls I had seen in my life.
She wore a white Thrasher sweatshirt with denim shorts and paired with pink vans. Her hair was down and she fumbled with the name tag on her which read, 'Y/n.'
I realized I was too busy staring at her and spat out an answer so I didn't seem like a weirdo, "U-uh I'm good. Thanks." I mumbled and she nodded with a smile. Jack, why do you sound like an idiot?
"Okay. Just let me know if I can help you with anything." She answered with a grin, strolling away back to her spot at the register to help a customer.
I got mad at myself considering I didn't make conversation with her whatsoever, which was pretty strange for me. I never had any trouble flirting with girls but today this one had me tongue tied.
"Jack, did you find a good one?" Zach asked, coming into my view from behind me. He had a red champion hoodie in his hands.
"No... I got distracted." I mumbled, instantly regretting it as the words came out of my mouth. Zach loved to instigate and embarrass me whenever he had the chance.
"Distracted by what? A girl?" Zach smirked nudging me in the rib cage and I rolled my eyes.
"No." My answer was frank and Z could clearly see right through me. I peered around the room for Y/n and saw her talking to Jonah with a smile. Of course she was talking to Jonah. I subconsciously let out a small frown.
"It's that girl that works here, isn't it?" Zach pestered, gesturing to the beautiful girl who chatted with my friend.
"She's pretty right?" I beamed, staring at her dreamily and Zach burst out laughing.
"Yeah she's hot. Did you talk to her?" Zach wondered, also watching Jonah flirt with my crush.
"Barely. I don't think I can do this one Zach. Jonah's already on it." I sadly spoke, seeing how Jonah leaned over the counter speaking to her with a smirk on his face. She blushed as he spoke to her.
"What? Just cause Jonah is flirting with her doesn't mean anything, talk to her." Zach demanded, sounding baffled that I'd let Jonah keep talking her up.
"Nah dude, it's okay." I mumbled giving him a half smile. Secretly, I felt defeated. I never had problems with flirting with girls but for some reason I just felt insecure and not sure I would be able to face rejection from one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen.
Zach looked at me quizzically and shrugged, going back to the front of the store. My focus shifted back to the decks in front of me, searching for a nice one. A few moments went by before I felt a tap on my shoulder. I figured it was Zach being annoying about the whole situation so I turned around with an eye roll.
"Zach stop bugging me ab-" I quickly cut off what I was going to say when I saw Y/n in front of me smiling.
"Your friend told me you needed some help finding a new deck. Were you too scared to talk to me? I'm not mean I promise." She giggled looking back at Zach who watched the whole conversation with a smirk painted on his face.
"I-I'm not scared. You were busy." I mumbled, not sure exactly where to go with the conversation.
"Well looks like I'm not busy right now. What's your name?" She asked peering straight into my eyes with a smile on her face.
"It's Jack. Yours is Y/n?" I questioned, pointing down to her name tag so I didn't look like a stalker.
"That's me...Jack I have a question for you." She pondered, tilting her head to the side.
"What's your question?" I answered, confused thoughts filling my mind. What did I do?
"Do you- I was wondering if you wanna...exchange numbers?" She shyly asked, not making eye contact with me. Her cheeks turned pink and I could tell she was nervous.
"Yes." I may have answered too quickly but I didn't care. I can't believe someone like her would want my number.
"Great." She looked around the room to make sure her manager wasn't watching and she handed me her phone, as I gave her mine. We exchanged information and she took her phone back with ease.
"You're beautiful, I know that's kinda weird since we just met but I thought I would let you know." I nervously told her, feeling my palms sweat slightly. In the corner of my eye, Zach stood there with a stupid grin on his face, looking like he was up to something.
"That's so sweet of you, you're very cute too. I wouldn't usually ask an attractive guy for his number but your friend Zach over there told me you were interested in me." She confessed, her smile never leaving her face.
Zach. What a fucking dipshit.
"He's so stupid but I'm glad he did." I chuckled along with her.
"Yeah, No. Regrets." She spoke, emphasizing the word 'no.'
"Y/n can you get back to work and stop flirting with our customers!" Her manager, I assume, shouted out to her.
Y/n blushed profusely and nodded, quickly waving bye to me and running to the front of the store, helping a young girl.
After she was far enough away from me, Zach ran up to me with the same dumb look on his face.
"You're welcome Jack." He called out to me, raising an eyebrow. He patted himself on the back cockily.
"Normally, I would kill you for doing something like that but I'm so glad you did." I truthfully told him, thanking him.
"Yeah I know I know. I'm the best wingman ever." Zach spoke cracking his knuckles dramatically.
"Can't argue with that."
strawberry nicotine // jack avery
love is a complicated thing. a complex, fascinating, beautiful thing.
jack avery never thought he’d find love until he met you.
until his eyes met your starry gaze, until his touch felt your velvet skin. it was as if his eyes were opened to all the beautiful things he was missing without you.
your kiss was like a drug. a sweet, strawberry nicotine that he could never get quite enough of. a single kiss left his craving for the feeling of your lips on his, the taste of your lip gloss lingering like the morning dew. the soft plumpness of his lips fit perfectly with yours, each ridge and bump seeming like it was made for each other.
his touch was like silk sheets under your skin, and you wanted nothing more than to tangle yourself up in the fabric until you couldn’t breathe. it was soft and gentle, his fingertips dancing with yours, or tracing patterns on your hip. it was the kind of touch that could warm you in the coldest nights, the touch that could wrap you up in it’s alluring embrace and you’d never want it to let go.
your voice was a angel chorus of melodies. he may be the singer, but if he had the choice he would listen to your sweet tone every second of every day. your laugh was like bells, floating in the wind and beckoning him to come closer. from the way you would tell him you loved him before he went to work to the moment before he would run onstage, it was like your voice was always with him. telling him to move forward. telling him he could do it.
his eyes would sparkle like melted chocolate, a smooth and sweet gaze that could make you dissolve like hot butter. it was a gaze that could hold the softest of clouds to the fieriest of lust. eyes that held a thousand emotions, but only one was prominent when he looked at you.
love.
love was something jack avery thought was unattainable until he met you. and when he did meet you, he realized the sheer beauty of love.
love could make you smile. it could make you cry. it had the power to make you feel a thousand different things at the same time. it was addicting, the feeling of being loved. and jacked craved love from only one person. you
and he would always come back to the sweet, strawberry nicotine of your love.
Happy Birthday Daniel (:
Fact: Our little Daniel is 19 in a couple of hours (17 minutes for me) and I hope he enjoys his day to the fullest. Thus the reason for this short. It’s all over the place and even though it’s only 1600 words, it took me two hours to write?? Any way...
Holding tightly onto the valuable box, you hesitantly stared at the doorbell. It was the 2nd of April, and Daniel had turned nineteen today. You and he had celebrated your birthdays together since you met in freshman year of High School, but this year your ritual was bound to be different.
He had a girlfriend- And you were fine with it, he seemed happy to have found someone, but you wished it would’ve been anyone other than her. Cora was a gorgeous girl and had been super kind to you, but you had always felt that something was off about her. She was all over the Daniel Seavey. The one who disappears on international tours for months and the one with a golden voice. That Daniel she knew and adored. The other Daniel, the one you grew up with, the one Christian boy who would talk about life as if he had experienced 90 years of it… Cora didn’t know that Daniel and that was what hurt you. To you, it felt like the Daniel you once knew, was hiding in a place where only you could find him.
“[Y/N]?” Daniel called out from behind you.
Turning away from the doorbell you still stood in front, your eyes fell on the now 19-year-old boy. He was wearing his hiking shoes and sweat was dripping from underneath his baseball cap over his face. You smiled when you realized it was the baseball cap you had given him before he’d gone off on the Invitation Tour.
“Happy birthday!” You smiled, more genuine than anyone ever could be. Rushing to him, you threw your arms around him and hold him close. A content sigh left your lips as you felt his arms around you.
“Thank you.” He whispered, just as content as you were, “You are aware that I’m sweating, right?”
You rolled your eyes as you pulled yourself out of his arms, “Believe me. If it wasn’t your birthday I would have never put myself through such misery.”
He laughed and walked passed you, motioning for you to follow him. “So, I should probably get a shower.” Scratching the back of his neck, his eyes rested on you.
You quickly held out his present, “Just open this first?”
Daniel walked over and allowed you to push the small box in his hands. He grinned from ear to ear as he unwrapped the box. Peeking inside, he frowned lightly before looking up into your eyes again. Pulling out the small red USB, he now wore his eyebrows high. Daniel skipped over to the dinner table before opening his laptop and plugging his USB in.
You couldn’t help but hold your breath as he opened the file. Immediately your voice sounded through the speakers.
“Hey, little D.” As you watched over his shoulder, you felt your cheeks starting to burn. “Don’t worry, this isn’t going to be me confessing my love and asking you to marry me or anything. Instead, this is a fun little compilation of our friendship.”
He quickly turned his head to face you, simply because he wanted to see the embarrassed blush that had crept onto your face and yet he didn’t want to miss the smallest second of the video you had made him.
“But, you should probably hit the shower first. Knowing you, you just came back from a hike and are all sweaty as of right now. So, I’ll  be here. Waiting. For you- Oh god, this better not turn into a love confession.”
You pressed on the pause-button when he didn’t. Looking at him with certain expectations, you motioned for the stairs.
He shook his face, “I want to watch this first.”
“It’s twenty minutes.”
“I saw.”
Rolling your eyes, you pressed the play button again, but before the full introduction was over, the front door burst open and an over-excited Cora rushed in.
Daniel put the video back on pause and got up from his feet, a wide smile on his face.
“Happy birthday babe!” Cora screamed perhaps a little too loud as she ran to Daniel. He held his arms out for a kiss or hug that never came. Cora stopped several yards away from him. “You are one smelly birthday boy. Go take a shower and then I’ll give you your kiss.”
From your point of view, Daniel appeared disappointed. Nonetheless, he seemed to cope. He sat back down to continue watching his video, but Cora stopped him once again.
“Babee,” she mumbled, “Come on. In the shower you go,” She paused and winked once, “I’ll give you your present once you’re all clean.”
Hesitantly, Daniel got up and closed the laptop. Smiling once more at you, he wrapped his arm around you as he held his laptop with the other. “Thank you so much, [Y/N].” He mumbled before he disappeared up the staircase.
. . .
Cora had occupied herself with some of her schoolwork which left you to wander around the house. Daniel was usually much quicker with taking a shower, so you ended up in his en-suite bedroom. You could hear soft voices on the other side of his bathroom door and curiosity easily took you to stand right in front of the door, your ear against the wood.
You immediately heard your own broken voice and recognized it from the video on the USB. It was recorded a couple of days ago, meaning that Daniel had nearly finished watching the entire video.
“It wasn’t the best idea to record this part of the video after editing it in its entirety.” You had sobbed quietly, “I- You’re an amazing friend, Daniel. You really are. God- Why am I crying?”
You had expected for Daniel to respond with a soft chuckle or laugh at some point, but nothing came.
“I love you. I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better friend. Happy nineteenth, little D.”
The bathroom door cracked open not long after, and out came the tall boy with his white bathroom towel. He looked up and jumped a step back. You immediately saw his glazy eyes and you had to force out a laugh, just to make the embarrassing scene disappear.
“You cried.” You pointed at him, before giving yourself a lame high-five. “That is what I call success.”
He rolled his eyes and grabbed a shirt before pulling it over his head. He eventually sat down next to you on his bed. His hands were folded together in his lap, something that you hadn’t seen him do for the past months.
“You are the best.” He said, almost embarrassed, as he looked at his hands.
“That’s a fact,” You nodded, confused at how quiet and reserved he behaved. “What’s going on? Did I embarrass you?”
He found your eyes again and shook his face ever so lightly, “No, no. It’s nothing.”
Jumping up to your feet, you grabbed his wrists and pulled him up. “Come on then, the boys are probably up by now and you still need to unwrap Cora’s present.”
But instead of following you, he pulled you back and his arms instantly wrapped around your torso again. “This was probably the best present ever.” He said, gently kissing your forehead.
. . .
“Wow.”
It had been the only thing that came out of Daniel’s mind and it had been repeated about four times now. He just kept pulling out ‘his and hers’ products. There were pillowcases, keychains and most importantly: bedsheets. It was a little odd, especially since it had become a fact that Daniel was a little obsessed with the same grey bedsheets. He wouldn’t get it over his mind to change them, his reasoning being that he liked it clean and simple.
Poor Cora seemed to have no idea that the chaotic bedsheets that stated how little his space on the bed would be, was a terrible gift for his birthday.
“Thank you, Cora-“ He said, sounding somewhat grateful, as she started leaning in for a kiss. Daniel got to his feet. “I actually wanted to talk to you about something, Cora.”
. . .
“You broke up with her?” You frowned, watching how an overall confused Cora was now pushing all the presents she had bought Daniel back into her car. “On your birthday?”
He groaned, “I know. I should’ve done it before she had bought me all- whatever that was.”
“Is Dani Boy being ungrateful?” You chuckled, using the nickname Cora seemed to love so endlessly.
Daniel shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t know. Maybe- It’s just… It felt like she went on the first best webshop and ordered all that junk.”
You couldn’t help but scoff, “You cannot tell me that you broke up over a bad birthday present.”
He shook his head, “It’s not that. I just don’t feel as comfortable around her as I do around other people. And I couldn’t help but feel like she didn’t even want to get to know me.”
Biting your lip, you nodded.
“You saw that too? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Shrugging your shoulders, you didn’t know what to say. “You seemed happy. You finally found someone who you thought you’d want to spend the rest of your life with-“
He cut you off, “I’d want to spend the rest of my life with you too.”
 You chuckled, “It’s different with me, you know that.”
[ I AM SORRY I WANT THIS TO BE CONTINUED, BUT I AM TIRED AND DANIEL’S BIRTHDAY IS ALMOST HERE AND I NEED SLEEP. ]
Short Jack Imagine ;
Imagine playing "Are you nervous yet?" with Jack, a cocky smirk plastered on his face. He would place his hand on your knee, his dark eyes looking deeply into yours before saying "Are you nervous yet?" and you would raise an eyebrow at him, shaking your head hesitantly. He would slide his hand up further, leaving you even more confused but would repeat the question, you shaking your head again. As soon as you catch on, his hand travels further up grazing delicately closer to your lower stomach before brushing his lips against your ear whispering, "Are you sure, princess?" then nibbling softly at your neck.
Authors Note - I am so sorry but not really.
she’s got a gun // jack avery (part one)
request: none
this is a first part! it’s an introduction to this series (it’s basically a fanfiction hah), so there’s going to be very little of jack in this first part. but the following parts will have a ton of him! i’m planning for this to be a few parts, and i’m so excited holy shithiwohfduewhd. enjoy loves!
pairing: jack x female!reader
triggers: gangs, violence, guns, drugs, alcohol, cursing, etc
disclaimer: THIS IS AN AU, THE BOYS WILL ALL BE AGED UP BY A FEW YEARS, SO THESE ARE THE BOY’S AGES IN THIS FIC.
jonah - 25 years old       corbyn - 25 years old
jack - 24 years old         daniel - 24 years old
zach - 22 years old        reader - 22 years old (it’ll make sense)
||
y/n never meant to be caught in the middle of a gang war.
she never asked to be the sister of jonah marais, the leader of the largest gang in los angeles. and she sure as hell never meant to fall in love with jack avery, the leader of the other largest -and jonah’s rival- gang in la.
she never wanted to get involved in jonah’s “gang business”. but the moment she accidentally walked in on jonah and corbyn, who was jonah’s second, holding a gun to a man’s head in the living room, she knew she was in it.
and she was sure in deep.
from that moment on, jonah decided that the best way to protect his little sister, was to teach her the ways of the gang. he taught her the laws, the people, the lifestyle.
y/n frantzich had been a high-ranked member of the vipers for nearly 5 years.
but every gang had their rival. and the rival of the vipers, was the hornets.
||
“y/n! get over here!” y/n heard jonah yell for her, causing her to roll her eyes and stand up from her position on the couch. she walked over to the kitchen where jonah, corbyn, and other various members of the gang were standing around a computer.
“what do you need jonah,” she pushed her way through the small ring of members, standing next to jonah. corbyn was in front of the computer, tapping away at the keys as he worked his ‘tech wiz’ magic, as he liked to call it.
“i believe,” corbyn pushed a final button on the computer, the screen revealing a bright red pinpoint on a map. “that we just found the location of the hornets.” a smirk spread across corbyn’s face as he stared at the screen in victory.
“we got ‘em?” she whispered, her eyes fixated on the screen in front of her.
“that we do, lil sis,” jonah slung his arm around her, pulling her close to himself. y/n leaned into her older brother’s body before pulling away from him.
“so, when are we gonna raid these sons of bitches?” she cracked her knuckles, smirking up at her older brother. “they deserve to pay after what they did to za-”
“not yet y/n, we don’t know enough about them to just go in there blind,” jonah interrupted, giving a stern look to his sister. he then went into thinking mode, his gang-smart mind working at a fast pace. “we need someone to get some, inside intel on the hornets, and then we can make them pay for what they did to him.”
“like a spy?” corbyn asked, leaning on the counter with a raised eyebrow. the small crowd looked to their leader for reassurance.
“yup, exactly like a spy.” jonah smirked, a full plan finally forming in his head. “someone who can get into the heart of the hornets, and give us information on how to take them down from the inside.”
“but who? the hornets know practically everyone in our gang,” a member by the name of theo spoke up from the back, and the rest of the group grumbled in agreement.
they all stayed silent for a few moments before a voice broke through the tense silence.
“they don’t know me.” y/n spoke.
she was right, seeing as while jonah integrated her into the gang, he never let her go out of the house for ‘official gang business’. she had never been in an encounter with the hornets, or any other gang except for the vipers for that matter. no matter how much she begged jonah to let her, he always forced her to help from the base, where corbyn usually was.
“y/n-” jonah began to argue, but y/n but him off with a fierce glare.
“don’t tell me no jonah, i’m the only the hornets don’t know. i’m the only one who can do this without being caught in the first day.” y/n crossed her arms, giving jonah a challenging glare.
“she’s got a point jo-” corbyn began, but he was cut off by a rock hard glare from the older frantzich sibling.
“shut the hell up corbyn,” he growled, turning his attention from the blonde boy back to his sister. “y/n it’s too dangerous out there. you don’t know what the hornets are capable of-”
“stop babying me jonah!“ y/n yelled, her anger beginning to peak. “i’m not a teenager anymore, you can’t go bossing me around like i don’t have a say in what happens to me anymore. i know what those damn hornets are capable of, i know what happened to him.” she stopped to take a breath, trying to cool herself off.
“i can do this jonah. i have to. for the vipers. for zach.” y/n’s voice broke, her mind fleeing at the thought of zach herron.
it had been six months since zach was killed in a gun fight between the vipers and the hornets. he was 22, the same age as y/n. they were as close as ever, some even saying that they were in love.
zach wasn’t even supposed to be present at the fight, but he intervened last minute to tell jonah some incredibly important, secret news that never got to reach the ears of the older boy.
zach arrived at the peak of the conflict, trying to desperately get to jonah before it was too late. but it clearly didn’t work out, and a hornet’s gun went off before zach could even think about moving.
and as that single gunshot rang out, that secret died with zach herron.
y/n supressed her memories of her rosy-cheeked best friend, feeling the tears prick at eyes at the thought of him.
“i’m going jonah, whether you like it or not.” the siblings had a stare-off, venom in both their eyes before jonah’s blue irises softened at the sight of his sister nearly in tears.
“i-i just want you to be safe,” jonah mumbled, and the poison in y/n’s face disappeared.
“i will, i want to do this. i’m willing to do this, for the vipers.” jonah contemplated for a few moments, before caving into his sister’s pleas.
“just be careful. the hornets are capable of so much harm. you’ll leave for the ‘mission’ tomorrow.” jonah told y/n, seeing the excitement and determination of finally going on an assignment settling into her features.
“i won’t fail, i will make them suffer for killing zach.” y/n seethed, the image of zach’s dead body flitting across her vision before disappearing. she began to walk out of the kitchen, which had emptied during hers and jonah’s fight because the other members didn’t want to get involved.
rule number one of the vipers, never get in the middle of a frantzich fight.
“y/n,” she paused her steps at the sound of her brother’s voice. “here, take my gun, stay safe baby sis,” he his took a handgun out of his pocket, outstretching his hand to her.
y/n gingerly took the weapon in her hands, feeling the heavy metal in her palms. her fingers slowly enclosing around the handle.
“thanks jo, i promise i’ll be careful,” she turned away to walk back to her room, but jonah interrupted once again.
“i love you y/n,” his earnest tone nearly brought tears to her eyes, and y/n turned around and enclosed him in a hug.
“i love you too jo.”
“now go kick some hornet ass.”
mistletoe // jack avery
 day eighteen of 25 Days of Why Don’t We
pairing: jack x reader
triggers: none
“mistletoe attack!” you heard your boyfriend yell, holding up a sprig of mistletoe before pressing his lips onto yours.
“jack!” you groaned once he pulled away.
“what? you know you love it,” he smirked before practically running away back to whatever he had been doing before. you rolled your eye before going back to your previous task of filling the dryer with clothes.
jack had been pulling these mistletoe attacks all day, and you were getting a bit annoyed with it.
while you loved being kissed by your gorgeous boyfriend, you would much rather be doing the laundry in peace, rather than being constantly attacked by jack’s lips.
you quickly finished the laundry, turning the dryer on and continuing on to the next task.
you moved on to the bedroom, where you began to change the sheets. jack had disappeared to god knows where, but you took no notice as you began to replace the decorative pillows onto the bed. but what you didn’t notice was your stupid boyfriend, creeping up behind you with that damned plant in his hand.
“mistletoe attack!” he yelled, startling you with his loudness. you let out a small scream but were quickly silenced by his soft lips pecking yours before he ran out of the room.
“jack robert avery!” you yelled, but you knew that he wouldn’t be responding. you rolled your eyes once more and returned to the task at hand, making your bed.
you hummed, finishing making the bed and left the room to go watch some tv. you plopped onto the soft leather couch and turned on the tv, opting to watch some random reality show. it didn’t matter what was on, you were going to be on your phone anyways.
“babe! come here!” you heard jack yell from the front porch, and you heaved yourself up from the immensely comfortable couch. you quickly slipped on a pair of shoes and walked outside to meet jack.
“i swear if this is another mistletoe attack-” you paused once you saw that the sprig of mistletoe wasn’t in his hand.
“oh, look,” jack approached you with a smirk on his face. his hand gestured upward to the frame of the door. “mistletoe.”
you looked up to see that same little branch of mistletoe hanging up on the frame of your front door, but this time it was different.
there, tied onto the sprig by a length of red ribbon, was a gorgeous diamond ring. you gasped, a hand going up to mover your mouth in astonishment as jack reached up and untied the ring form the mistletoe, and got on one knee.
your eyes began to water as you looked down at jack in complete awe.
“y/n,” he paused, taking in a deep breath. “wow. i can’t say much more than that. you’re everything i’ve ever wanted, all wrapped up into one beautiful person. when you said yes to being mine, i couldn’t believe it. you’re so beautiful, kind, caring, and compassionate in every single way.” he took in another breath, his nerves beginning to show.
“and i love you. i love you more than anything in this world. you’re my world, my soulmate, and the person i want to spend the rest of my life with,” he held up the ring to you. “so y/n y/l/n, will you marry me?” by this point tears were streaming down your face, and you nodded vigorously.
“yes, jack, 1000% yes,” you breathed out, before leaning down and giving him the most passionate kiss you could muster. his hand that wasn’t holding the ring was cupping your cheek as he kissed back with an equal amount of fervor. “i love you so much,” you mumbled, pulling away from the kiss and resting your forehead on his.
“i love you more,” he kissed your forehead and got back up to his feet. “now let’s see how this ring looks,” he took your shaking hand in his and slowly slipped the jewelry onto your ring finger, which gave you time to admire it.
it was one of the most gorgeous things you had ever laid your eyes upon.
it had a large diamond in the center, with two smaller diamonds on either side. the band was gold, with diamonds circling the entire perimeter. it was stunning, to say the least.
“it’s beautiful,” you breathed out admiring the jewelry that now adorned your left hand.
“almost as beautiful as you,” jack retorted cheekily, kissing your temple. he pulled you into his arms when something caught his eye.
“look,” he smiled. “mistletoe.” and sure enough, the two of you were standing underneath the mistletoe that he had place for the proposal. you rolled your eyes, but kissed him regardless.
your lips moved against his in perfect harmony, and you pulled away a few seconds later with rosy cheeks and breathless.
“best mistletoe attack ever,” you laughed, pressing a sweet kiss to your boyfriend’s lips.
wait, no. your fiancé’s lips.
candy cane // jack avery
 day eight of 25 Days of Why Don’t We
pairing: jack x reader
triggers: idk yet
tag list: @jonahgarl @magicalmarais @duh-danii @thefangirlingmaster @veryweirdintrovert @maggie-the-book-nerd @littlemissgiggless @worldllamailluminati @kianah-janae @5sosmusic1d @boomboomboomwayhoo @woahhitssam7 @american-teenage-idiot @kodieoirskott @no-no-no-n0 @whydontweslut @lost-in-wonderland-x @mendes-limelight008 @5sosismylife44 @noodleswdw @starshininginthedark @affricanprincess @avanunez13 @jxckbs @thatssoherron
it had been a tradition for as long as jack could remember for his parents to hide candy canes around his house, making a scavenger hunt for the sweets. his sisters and himself had competed to find their team’s candy canes first.
he had been doing it for years, and considered himself a seasoned expert on candy-cane finding. but it was the first year when you were added into the mix.
you were invited to spend christmas with the avery/stanfords, and along with staying with them, you were able to participate in this candy cane hunt that jack loved oh-so much.
“baby, we’re gonna be teamed up with lil isla here,” jack took his little sister in his arms, squeezing at her cheeks.
“jack, don’t do that,” isla groaned, trying to desperately wiggle out of her older brother’s arms.
“stop harassing your sister jack,” you scolded playfully, resulting in jack letting go of his littlest sister.
“thank you y/n,” isla breathed out, giving you a hug. “now let’s find us some candy canes!” she cheered, rushing into the living room where the rest of the family was. you and jack followed suit, sitting down on the couch next to isla.
their mom and dad quickly explained the rules to you, seeing that the avery/stanford kids were getting antsy to get on with the hunt.
“and, go!” and with that you guys were off, immediately beginning to search around. you, isla, and jack were the blue team, and had to find all the candy canes with blue stripes. ava and sydnie were the red team, and had to find all the red striped candy canes.
sydnie and ava had rushed upstairs to look, while your team had stayed in the living room to look around. you checked under the pillows, in the christmas tree, and on every shelf you could see.
“found one!” isla yelled, pointing up at the highest shelf on the bookshelf. you and jack rushed over to where she was, following where her finger was pointing. and sure enough, there was a blue-striped candy cane wedged in the pages of a ‘harry potter’ book.
you reached up and retrieved the book, taking the candy cane out of the pages.
“one down, nine to go,” jack smirked, high-fiving his little sister. you guys moved onto the next room, which was the kitchen. you searched through the pantry while jack and isla were working on the cabinets.
you rifled through various chip bags and cereal boxes, before a flash of blue and white caught your eye.
“i think i found one!” you called to the rest of your team. you reached up and moved away a box of hot chocolate mix, and sure enough there was a candy cane right where you saw. you reached up and retrieved it, putting it with your other candy cane.
“wanna move on upstairs?” jack asked, and you and isla nodded.
you guys rushed upstairs, where you crossed paths with ava and sydnie, who were going down the stairs.
“outta my way loser,” sydnie called jokingly to her brother, lightly pushing him out of the way to make it downstairs.
“you won’t be calling me a loser when we win!” jack called back to his older sister, smirking in victory at her offended gasp. “c’mon guys, let’s do this.”
you guys searched every single room upstairs, finding all but one of the candy canes.
“where could it be?” isla groaned, running a hand through her hair before searching through another cabinet of the bathroom. you shrugged, looking through the medicine cabinet in the mirror one more time before giving up.
you walked back into the hallway, meeting up with jack, who was finishing up looking through his sister’s room again.
“anything?”
“nothing,” he replied, sighing deeply. “have we checked everywhere in the house?” you and isla stayed silent at the wake of his question, thinking deeply.
“we could check the coat closet,” isla suggested, and all three of you ran downstairs to where the coat closet was located. all three of you went through the various coats, jackets, and hats that were stuffed in the closet.
you were about to give up on the closet when jack yelled in excitement. your heart raced as you saw it.
a blue candy cane, tucked underneath a gold why don’t we beanie. you laughed, picking up the candy cane and putting it with the other nine.
“the band never fails me,” jack laughed, seizing his band’s merch and holding it in his hands, raising it into the air.
jack and isla high-fived, and you three rushed into the living room, where his parents sat drinking a coffee.
“we found them all!” isla yelled, and you took all ten candy canes and placed them onto the table. their mom got up from the couch, walking to the table and counting them.
“good job! you guys won,” their mom announced, sending you, jack, and isla into a celebration. jack picked you up and twirled you around, sending you into laughs.
“good job baby,” he told you, setting you down carefully onto the floor. he kissed your forehead, and your arms snaked up around his shoulders, your hands settling on the nape ofhis neck.
“i guess you really proved yourself as the candy cane finding expert huh,” you teased lightly, and your boyfriend puffed his chest out in pride.
“i am the candy cane finding master,” he spoke cockily, and pressed his lips onto yours. you melted into the kiss, feeling your heart race at his touch. his hands settled at your waist, and your hands played with the baby hairs at the nape of his neck.
“ew!” isla exclaimed, interrupting yours and jack’s kiss. “that’s gross,” she commented, her nose scrunched at the sight of you and her brother kissing. you blushed, hiding your face in jack’s chest at the revelation that you two just kissed in front of his family
“i agree,” ava added, walking into the living room, sitting on the couch. sydnie followed suit, a look of defeat on her face at losing the candy cane hunt.
“how does it feel to lose?” jack teased his older sister, being shot a look of contempt from the pink haired girl.
“shut up jack,” she groaned, but a smirk was still on her face. “at least i’m a loser only this time, you’re a loser all the time,”
“hey!”
snowflake // jack avery
day thirteen of 25 Days of Why Don’t We
“so then you fold here,” you mumbled, trying your best to follow along with the youtube video you were attempting to follow.
“this is confusing,” jack sighed, trying to keep up with the man who was impossibly good at folding triangles. jack bit his lip in concentration as he carefully folded the square piece of paper.
“okay i think i got it,” you smiled happily, holding up your now triangle shaped piece of folded hell in victory. jack frowned a bit, still not fully caught up with you.
“how’d you do that?” he pouted, his big brown eyes becoming more prominent than ever. you laughed, leaning over and showing him a few step before he held a piece of paper identical to yours. “sweet,”
a christmas song rang out in the background, just a little something jack put on to put you guys in the mood.
“let’s do this,” you said, holding up your pair of scissors before carefully making the first cut.
you and jack began cutting out various shapes and patterns into the snowflake, singing and laughing along to christmas music while you were at it.
you had finally deemed your snowflake suitable after a few minutes, and unfolded the paper to reveal your design.
“oh no,” you cringed, seeing how your full snowflake turned out. you had cut too far on one end, effectively mangling it a bit. the cuts hadn’t gone all the way in some parts, and all in all, it was simply a mess.
“i’m with you on this one,” jack told you, showing you his snowflake, which was even more messed up than yours.
“i guess we have to try again?” you said, taking another piece of white square paper from the stack.
“i guess we do,” jack took a piece of paper as well, and you guys folded it back to the triangle shape it was supposed to be.
you hummed along to the song that was playing, making careful and precise cuts to the paper. you cut hearts and triangles among various other shapes into the paper, fully focusing on the snowflake. that is, until the song changed.
the first few resounding bass notes of ‘hey good lookin’ sounded, and you slowly looked to jack, who was returning the look. smirks appeared on your faces as daniel’s voice rung out.
“hey good lookin’ how you doin’“ you and jack got up from your seats and began dancing, singing along to the music.
“i’ll spend up my whole life just staring at your eyes,” jack sung along with his recorded voice, taking you by the hands and spinning you around. you laughed and danced along, singing at the top of your lungs.
“hey good lookin’ what you doin’, to me, to me, to me.” corbyn’s voice faded out, and you and jack breathed heavily with large smiles on your face. jack pulled you into his arms, and set his chin on top of your head, hugging you for a moment before letting you go.
“that was fun, but we have to get back to work now,” you told him, sitting back down and unfolding your snowflake. “goddammit,” you groaned, seeing yet another failed, destroyed snowflake.
“it’s okay babe,” jack wrapped his arms around you from behind. “your snowflakes may not be, but you sure are good lookin’“ he winked at you, earning a laugh and a light slap on the chest.
“that was bad,” you told him, leaning up and giving him a peck on the cheek.
“that was amazing,” he scoffed playfully.
“i beg to differ,” jack opened his mouth to retort back, but you cut him off before he could speak. “i still love you though,” he pressed a kiss to your temple, sending your cheeks flaring up in red.
“i love you too, good lookin’.“
marshmallow // jack avery
day three of 25 Days of Why Don’t We
pairing: jack x reader
triggers: idk yet
you stirred the hot chocolate powder into the hot milk, humming contentedly as jack was starting the fire outside. you heaped a pile of mini marshmallows on top of the hot liquid, topping it off with a bit of whipped cream.
the smell of cocoa filled the air as you picked up the two mugs, heading outside. two chairs were set up next to the firepit, and jack had finally managed to get a flame started.
you set the two mugs on the rim of the fire pit, going back inside to get some blankets.
“baby! don’t forget the marshmallows and chocolate and all that shit!” you heard jack remind you, you shook your head with a smile, retrieving the blankets before walking to the pantry and taking out all the ingredients for s’mores.
with your arms now full you walked back to the door, barely being able to squeeze through the opening due to all the stuff piled up in your arms.
“jack, can you please help me,” you asked him, feeling the relief of having some of the weight lifted off your arms. “thank you babe,” you set the blanket on the chairs, spreading out the fluffy fabric.
you settled into one of the chairs, wrapping yourself in the blanket as the chill of the night settled into your body.
jack clapped his hands together as he finally got a steady flame going, before taking his mug of hot chocolate and settling in the chair next to you. his arm snaked it’s way across your shoulders, pulling you close to his body as he sipped the warm, chocolate liquid.
he kissed your forehead, leaving his lips there for a few seconds before pulling away. your face scrunched up at the sensation, a tingle running down your spine.
you leaned over, grabbing the bag of marshmallows and opening it up. you popped a marshmallow into your mouth, savoring the sweet taste.
“babe, we’re supposed to roast them before we eat them,” jack laughed, seeing you with cheeks full of marshmallow. you swallowed before responding.
“i really like marshmallows,” you shrugged, taking another one and eating it. he laughed and reached over to grab the sticks on which to roast the marshmallows on.
he handed a skewer to you and you stuck a marshmallow on the end, settling the marshmallow on the edge of the flames to get the perfect roast. jack on the other hand, completely submerged his marshmallow into the fire, effectively burning it in a matter of seconds.
you looked at him questioningly as you artfully toasted the sweet, turning it into the perfect golden brown color.
“i like the char,” he shrugged, opening a packet of graham crackers and a chocolate bar and began to assemble his s’more.
“you’re weird,” you teased him, throwing a marshmallow at his chest. he gasped in mock pain, retrieving a marshmallow of his own and throwing it at you.
“we are not doing this right now,” you laughed, not wanting to have to clean up after the impending marshmallow war.
“fine, but you’re going down later,” he challenged.
“you’re all talk avery,” you finally deemed your marshmallow ready to be taken out of the fire, and began assembling your s’more. once it was done, you took a bite out of it, practically moaning at the taste.
jack had apparently forgotten about the marshmallow war and bit into his s’more, a bit of graham cracker crumbling onto him lap.
“this is so good,” he mumbled, a bit of chocolate smeared near his bottom lip.
“babe, you got a little something there,” you pointed to where the chocolate was, and he wiped at it but missed. “no, right there,” he missed yet again, resulting in you letting out a deep sigh and reaching up, wiping the chocolate away with your own thumb.
“thank you baby,” he smiled, leaning down and kissing your cheek.
“it’s no problem babe,” you smiled up at him, cuddling farther into his chest.
“did you know i love you a lot? because i do,” he mumbled, his big brown eyes glowing in the firelight.
“well i love you too jack,” you smiled, pressing a sweet kiss to his lips as you snuggled into his warmth, feeling the heat of the fire on your legs.
the smell of toasted marshmallows filled the chilly air, and content filled your system as the firelight illuminated both yours and jack’s happy faces.
Jack-O-Lantern - Halloween Imagine.
Tumblr media
Today was the day. It was Halloween, your favourite day of the year and every single one of your twitter followers knew that. Thanks to the change of your name to something Halloween related, counting down the days and constantly tweeting your ideas for the day. But it had finally arrived and you had been getting tweets all morning asking you what you’re plans were so you finally decided to reply. @y/t/n: TODAY IS THE DAY I’M SO EXCITED. I’m on my way to see my Jack-O-Lantern (Mr. @jackaverymusic). I CAN’T WAIT TO SHOW YOU WHAT WE’RE DOING. After tweeting, you left to go to Jack’s place, with a surprise up your sleeve as you hadn’t told him what you were doing today either. As you approach his door, you leave your surprise in the car so he can’t see them. “Y/n!” He answers the door pulling you into a hug and kissing you on the cheek. “What are we doing today?” He asks almost immediately after whilst welcoming you into the house. “Well, actually, I need your help getting the supplies from my car” you said stopping in the door way, before pulling him to you car that was parked in the drive way. As he approaches the car, you opened the back door and turn to him waiting for a response, which you get. His eyes goes wide and his mouth drops looking to you in shock. “That there, is the biggest two pumpkins I have ever seen in my entire 18 years of existence.” Hours later you had finished watching Halloween movies and had stared carving your pumpkins. You were both covered in the insides of the pumpkin after Jack unintentionally started an all out pumpkin-inside war. And now you were both calm again and finishing up your Jack-O-lanterns. You had tried to make a scary looking face but had failed, miserably. Jack however wouldn’t let you see his until he finished. You had eventually given up and had resulted to going on your phone until Jack was done, despite him trying to encourage you to keep going. Once he had finished, it was dark and it was getting harder to see. He decided he would cover your eyes and then reveal it. He gently placed his warm hands over your eyes as he led you over to his pumpkin. Once he was ready and had lit up his pumpkin he removed his hands. In front of you, you saw an illuminated pumpkin, standing out from the night sky in the background. On the pumpkin it had a J for Jack, a love heart and the first letter to your name. You look back to Jack, whose face was illuminated only by the pumpkin to see him excitedly looking at you. “Do you like it?” He asks. “I love it.” You reply before kissing him. “But not as much as I love you,” you admit for the first time before kissing him again and feeling him smile into the kiss, lifting you up and slightly spinning you around. The night ended with you both cuddling and tweeting a picture of the pumpkin with a cute caption, showing your love for Jack.
Authors Note - Final Halloween Imagine! 💀They were all so fun to write and we hope everyone had an awesome Halloween.
