Why I like them/why I don’t: it took me like two years to come to grips with it but i think jack is one of my absolute favorite yugioh rivals. yes they kind of fumbled the bag Badly with him in season 2 but i do really adore the character arc the show Did give him. the depths of how much he cares about the people he loves is soo so sweet AND I WONT FORGET IT. EVEN IF THE SHOW DOES. his dynamic with yusei is fantastic, that last duel of theirs makes me emotional as hell. he's also just so funny and a blast to watch, he's dumb as a rock and picks fights with children and THEN THEY PUT HIM IN ARC-V??!? AND TRIED TO MAKE HIM OUT TO BE THIS GREAT MENTOR TYPE FIGURE?!?! LMFAO?!? NO HE IS NOT. also his deck rules :^)

What I like about their appearance: i think my favorite jack atlas physical trait is his little 'A' earrings. all of his monogrammed shit is hilarious but the earrings are just. so good. i know he thinks theyre so cool.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?: SAME IN BOTH AND THANK GOD. WHITE BOY SPOTTED.

Favourite moment they were in: I'll yell about it forever but i fucking love the Jack vs. Robo!Jack duel. he really dueled the physical embodiment of all his most negative traits and said "i care about my friends and i dont want to be like that anymore." for a brief and beautiful moment his character development ruled like absolute hell. god.

Least favourite moment: the end of 5ds really does take and give in equal supply--i fucking hate that part like RIGHT AT THE END?!? WHEN JACK IS SO MEAN TO CARLY AND IS LIKE "I DONT NEED ANYONE". IT SUCKS SO BAD. WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HIM!!!! that end duel is so good otherwise!! graaaaa

Something I associate with them: Miraidon, because A.) purple but also B.) I named the second Miraidon you can get in Violet 'Jack Atlas' after spending like three hours trying to catch the damn thing in a luxury ball for my clark. deeply in character jack moment to me. it's what he would want.

Me as a Yugo and Speedroid fan after the new releases:

We got so much fr. The Shooting Star Dragon Equivalent for Clear Wing whose name is WAY too long. A Clear Wing tuner which was more unexpected. Along with more tech. Dang I had a hard enough time choosing extra deck cards. The final Clear Wing is an Omninegate that can be double tuned. I felt that in my soul. I can tell the implied story there. Yugo learning double tuning from Jack omg. That’s so cool. I love this. It can also alternately be summoned the accel synchro way as a Yusei reference.

The white coloration of the new Clear Wing reminds me of Chronjet Dragon Z fr.

YU-GI-OH! 5D’s — RAIN ORICHALCUM

DECKS! Rain once had her archetype of choice countered in tournament, so she swaps decks often thanks to the lingering paranoia.

I mainly did it so I could give a lot of variety to the duels and give love to both 5D’s era and older decks that don’t get to appear in the anime! There are a handful of original cards, but I’ll go over those later. First, introducing a nice collage of ace monsters/cards representing her archetypal decks!

She uses a Blue-Eyes mixed with good dragon cards as her “primary” deck and I ABSOLUTELY made an original line of Synchros: Orichalcos Dragon/Orichalcos Deuteros Dragon/Orichalcos Tritos Dragon :o) Also, because she has the anime-esque Timaeus, Hermos, and Critias cards, we get to see a lot of neat fusions! Like Hermos + Exploder Dragon, for example, making an equip spell that prevents destruction by battle, destroys the monster it battled with, but prevents battle damage

The Crimson Dragon card didn’t exist when I wrote my series, so I made my own 😂 YES they get attack and effect names! YES the characters yell them out! YES I had so much fun with this The Crimson Dragon 8-Star, LIGHT Attribute [Dragon/Synchro/Effect] [2500 ATK / 2000 DEF] 1 LIGHT Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monster(s) When this card is Special Summoned: you can target one of your opponent’s monsters. As long as this card is on the field, that monster’s effect is negated. Rain tossed her head back. A crack of lightning lit her grin.

“I am not running.”

Fire blazed to life. Orange sparks licked the air. Water hissed against flame, and steam flooded the ground. I shielded my eyes from the blaze with my forearm. The flames spurted from the earth itself and raced around the port in a circle. I shouted, “Rain!”

“No use,” Syd said. “She’s gotta be burning alive by now, and thanks to her own psychic powers.”

My brow furrowed. The way the fire had come to life was similar to a night of war several months ago. This blaze wasn’t causing destruction, though. The memory gave birth to a mad idea.

I stretched my arm towards the flames. Fire licked my fingers. Instead of raw pain, a kind warmth found me – one I had known before. I glanced out from the awning and up to the sky. The red flare reflected against the black clouds: the full glyph of the Crimson Dragon.

Rain dropped to her knees among the flames. They clung to her skin, hair, and clothes without leaving scars. Maroon marks on her pale face, shoulders, and arms pulsed with a bright, red glow like a slow heartbeat. Fangs protruded from her kind smile. Her hands clasped together. Rain said, “White Stone of Legend tunes with Horus LV8 and Exploder Dragon. With one LIGHT tuner and two monsters, I call upon the legendary power of old.”

The flames leapt from the ground and spiraled into a pillar from her place of prayer. Cinders sparkled around her, leapt towards her duel disk, and formed a white-hot rectangle. A trio of humongous green rings formed as a column towards the sky. Their color tinged red. Rain’s eyes shot open, and their irises shifted to crimson. Her whisper echoed across the bay like the shouts of thousands. “Synchro Summon: Akakiryu of the Sacred Flame.”

A tornado of pure flames ripped to life on the pier. Gold and red blended like a blazing autumn. Black clouds scattered, and rainwater evaporated. Fiery wings extended from the twister. A lengthy, skinny tail whipped from the phenomena, and the fire scattered from the dragon’s body. Akakiryu opened its mouth, revealing a bright, yellow tongue matching the startling color of its eyes.

Rain pushed to her feet, reached out her fist, and lifted her index finger. “Ability one. Upon summoning, all of your spells and traps are destroyed. Ignite the Sacred Flame!”

The blaze returned to the earth, tearing through Syd’s backline. The remaining Block Dugout and Nightmare Wheel shattered. Rain’s Blue-Eyes White Dragon was freed from its torture. Syd said, “So what? A fancy light show don’t mean nothin’. You got 3000 attack, which don’t match up. Even if it did, Beelzeus here can’t be destroyed.”

Rain extended her middle finger. “Ability two. By deducting 1000 attack from Akakiryu, I banish one monster on the field. Beelzeus is judged not fit for this world by the strength of a god.”

“Not so fast!” Syd said. “I discard Effect Veiler from my hand to negate your monster’s abilities!”

Rain’s ring finger popped up. “Ability three. Once per turn, I negate an ability that targets Akakiryu and banish the offender. Sacred Cinder Disarmament!”

Akakiryu spit a flare into the sky. It landed on the ghostly Effect Veiler, locking it in a fiery bubble. The sphere closed to crush the monster. Rain said, “Ability two continues! To Sacred Ashes!”

Beelzeus shied back from the intense heat of Akakiryu. The dragon flapped its wings forward. A pair of flame tornadoes approached Beelzeus. The twisters spun around the black dragon. Beelzeus attempted to flee the encroaching fire to no avail. The tornadoes captured Syd’s Synchro. Their ferocity enticed a pained roar from Beelzeus. Akakiryu’s attack spiraled faster before dissipating with nary a whisper.

“Shit,” Syd said, “the hell kinda card is that?”

I found the strength to stand. “A dragon who does not lose.”

“Akakiryu’s current attack is 2000,” Rain said, “equal to your remaining life points. Direct attack! Blazing Crimson Flight!”

Akakiryu unfurled its wings. A golden flare danced to the tips. The dragon’s cry deafened the quaking thunder. Akakiryu dove onto Syd and skimmed the ground, leaving the bay ablaze. His holler could barely be heard over the roar of the flames.

A slice caught my attention. Akakiryu cut down my runner and held it in his two claws. He lowered it to sit on its wheel beside Rain and curled around her. Black ashes from the destroyed monsters clung to her sweaty skin. Her criminal mark glowed with the golden reflection of Akakiryu’s light through the dirt.

Rain beamed at the glowing monster. She leapt towards its snout and wrapped her arms around it. I was taken aback. Instead of worshipper and god, she embraced Akakiryu like a daughter to a father. Much to my surprise, the dragon shut its eyes and leaned into it.

With a chuckle, I said, “Welcome home.”

An apocalyptic world I made up. Mc up there is listening to music late at night, when suddenly cir family wakes up and starts shambling to the front door–But Something's Wrong oooooooo. Their eyes are glowing a whitish-blue, and they don't seem to notice cim when ci puts cir hand on their shoulders. Ci hides in a doorway to see what's happening. When cir little brother opens the door, a giant obsidian Creature is waiting, and promptly devours mc's numb, unresponsive family. How shocking! Ci quickly creeps to a hiding spot, but in cir panic, one of cir earbuds falls out. Ci can hear in the exposed ear a soft whirring, so soft, so gentle, so calming and friendly. It's only the music still playing in cir other ear that saves cim from being completely carried away. Recognizing this, ci sluggishly replaces the earbud, and immediately cir mind is clear again- just in time to see that the Creature has entered the room, and begun to make its way towards cim. As soon as the earbud is fully in, however, the Creature lifts its satellite-dish-like head and turns it around, looking confused. It circles the room, its head swiveling frantically like some dog or cat trying to find a smell, and as it passes mc, it's all ci can do to keep quiet, but it finds nothing and leaves.

After a millenium, or perhaps a millisecond, of waiting, mc leaves cir hiding spot and starts to pack a backpack. A flashlight, some batteries, some food. Ci also seeks out cir cat, and finds her hiding beneath the couch, ears flattened against her skull, pupils and fur blown all the way up. She calms a bit at mc's soft, feathery soft murmuring, recognizing her name and the voice who spoke it, but refuses to leave her spot until mc opens up a can of tuna. After she's swallowed all of the can's contents, eyes and ears darting here and there, she's calm enough that mc can gently lower her into the backpack.

Ci creeps out the open door and makes cir way to the nearby shopping district, ducking between shadows with cir hands plastered to cir ears, desperately keeping the earbuds. Through them, ci occasionally hears loud metal or rap playing, sometimes from cars with huddled and shaking people, sometimes from other wanderers who clutch little bluetooth speakers in their white-knuckled hands. From cir place in the shadows, ci notices that the Creatures–there are so many Creatures–tend to take a wide berth around those beacons of presumably earsplitting melodies. After ci passes the empty street and enters the nearest electronics store, ci's grateful to find that, even though all of the speakers have been looted, there are still noise-cancelling headphones left. Ci takes three pairs, hanging two around cir neck and putting one over cir ears before swiftly switching the plugs in cir phone's jack. Feeling safer, ci flits as smoothly as ci can to the convenience store, opens a can of wet food for the cat, and formulates a plan over a bottle of water and some donuts.

Ci makes cir way back home, grabs cir little brother's acoustic guitar and tuner, and loads everything securely into a wagon, which ci attaches behind cir bike. Ci raids the nearest plant nursery for as many crops and medicinal herbs as ci can fit, then the bookstore for guidebooks for how to grow and use them, and follows the river out of town, away from the Creatures.

Out in the country, ci builds a little house out of materials ci finds. Ci spends cir nights awake, slamming away at the guitar's strings and singing at the top of cir lungs until ci's hoarse, and spends the rest of it with cir headphones on, humming to cirself. During the mornings and evenings, ci plants cir crops and maps out the area. Daytime, now marked by a sun which hangs like a pendant of onyx in the white sky, is the only time it's safe to sleep.

And that's it. Mc lives alone on a little sanctuary with cir cat, offering asylum to those who come across cim.

Annon-Guy: Batman Arkham Scenario

I suppose to wrap things up about who's able to face the Combat and Predator (Stealth) Maps.

Jack-O', Haehyun, Answer, Nagoriyuki, Giovanna, Goldlewis, Chaos, Bedman? and Asuka/Asuka#.

Guest appearances by Chimaki, Fanny, Leopladdon and Judgement.

Jack-O' plays similarly to Harley Quinn, actually... i.e. she sets traps for targets (her servants do the work, basically). She's very acrobatic, so combat's not a big deal to her, she was forced to learn stealth from Asuka to keep herself hidden from the Merciless Apocalypse early on.

(Side note: Aria Hale is nothing like Jack-O'... she had a high intellect but it was not based on Computer A.I., and her physical capabilities were very limited... she was just an ordinary lab geek when she dated Frederick.)

Kum Haehyun is very combat-oriented due to family techniques, but Kum's pride as a Tuner gets in the way of "stealth" so she's not suited for it. She's better off as a Doctor/Healer like she currently operates as. She'd rival Batman in terms of medical techniques (Bruce Wayne's father was a surgeon by the way... probably not as good as Faust was, but still...)

Answer is a Ninja, so Stealth is a given, he's not AS gifted as Chipp is in the combat talents, but he's been training, so maybe one day he'll catch up. He spends a lot of time on the phone though, so not much time for heroics unless Chipp calls in a favor.

Nagoriyuki was buried under a BUILDING for 60 years, that's pretty stealthy if you ask me! Aside that, his combat abilities are second to almost none save Sol. In terms of stealth technique he's a Vampire, so his potential is probably very high... but his pride as a samurai probably prevents him from taking underhanded "stealthy" measures... so I'd assume he prefers to confront people directly.

Giovanna works for the United States Secret Service... that's pretty stealthy work in and of itself, though she much prefers to relax on the job, she's still a professional in both combat and stealth.

Goldlewis: his background is VERY STEALTHY, but he won't tell you anything even if you ask. The guy is all about black ops, despite his rotund size. Combat wise, it's easy to see why he's the SECRETARY OF ABSOLUTE DEFENSE.

Happy Chaos: Stealth and magic are his fortes, though originally he knew next to NOTHING ABOUT COMBAT... he basically used the Backyard to download the knowledge in to his brain and learn from there. He isn't really a fighter, but his skill with a gun will make people hesitate to draw. Whoah... he knows Gun-Fu!

Bedman? The 8th Generation High Density Bedframe was built with Romeo's specs (and powers) in mind, so being a combat machine that can fight Gears (and even Vampires) seems to be part of what it was built for... in terms of Magic potential it can only do a limited amount of things via Bedman's influence, otherwise it's a hunk of junk without that Magic power driving it. The fact it's heavily damaged means things like combat and stealth are very limited for it.

The only reason the Bedframe is still decent at combat is because of its drive to protect Delilah. By the way, Delilah is very good at Stealth and Magic power, but combat is something she's still scared of, being 12 years old isn't easy.

Asuka # "Sharp" Being a "combat clone" of Asuka Kreutz, you'd think combat would be second nature to him, but you'd be incorrect... neither Asuka or Asuka #R are very good at physical combat... in fact they BOTH get tired very easily!

The fact Asuka R. Kreutz is also over 170+ years old with a body that got reduced to the youth of a child for a few months means he's not really built for physical activity in the first place. Of course, he probably still needs the exercise.

In terms of Stealth, all Asuka would need to do would be to cast Invisibility and that'd be the end of that. His Magic makes everything ELSE look very easy. Asuka Sharp is no exception either.

Still, between the two of them, I wouldn't expect either of them to play vigilante any time soon... they're better off sticking to Science.

Switching Gears... Fanny was an old assistant to Dr. Faust a great many years back and was still searching for him last we saw in GG Petit. She's a sweet young girl, stealth and combat really isn't her thing, though she probably has techniques to keep up with Faust at least.

She inherited her giant Needle weapon from her mother, who was also a Nurse years ago.

Raymond (Judgement) was originally a Scientist who worked for the P.W.A.B. and Sacred Order, so combat was something he observed on the daily, but this also made him deranged.

He later took his research to Isene Island and did diabolical experiments there to the poor residents, so despite becoming a cool-looking character, his morality is really suspect.

He also died not long after due to his miscalculation on Inus' powers as a Demihuman (Underworld King).

If he'd managed to survive though, Combat would come very easily for him, but I doubt he'd be all that interested in Stealth as a concept.

Moving on, LEOPALDON:

A large Megadeth Class Gear who "hides" in the Antarctic continent. That's pretty stealthy despite their size.

Leopaldon used to rescue humans who got stranded in Snow Storms on the continent, and it's semi-unclear if the P.W.A.B. even knew he existed or not.

Sol apparently met him once, but that's all we know, honest!

Sentient Gears aren't exactly geared for combat, as they are pacifists in nature (despite being built as weapons, they dislike being treated like weapons).

Still, make no mistake: LEOPALDON IS A MEGADETH GEAR.

That means Leopaldon's combat potential is immense, enough to level a city in minutes if not seconds. Somehow a group of thugs surrounding Leopaldon would be the height of folly.

Leopaldon does his best not to get noticed by humans, so he's gotten pretty good at stealth, but it might be only a matter of time before he gets fully discovered... maybe Ky can help him out one day?

Lastly, CHIMAKI:

A prideful Mononofu Samurai if ever there was one.

His sword is nothing to laugh at.

But, in terms of tactics or stealth... or even thinking...

Well... don't expect much.

Don't mess with Chimaki's topknot and you'll be just fine. He'll leave you alone in peace.

Unless you offer onigiri... then he may follow you home.

in which kyoka's girlfriend needs a tuner for her guitar

A soft knock came from Kyoka's door, a rhythmic tapping with a special meaning. With a smile Kyoka shouted towards the door. "It's open."

The door opened with a slight creak, revealing the face of Kyoka's girlfriend, Y/n. The girl smiled as she quietly closed the door. Crossing the room she sat down on the electric piano bench across from her girlfriend. In her hands was a f/c electric guitar with a painted design on the back.

"I hope you're not too busy."

Kyoka set down the pair of drumsticks in her hands. "No no it's fine. I was just working on some new rhythms."

"Ooh, that sounds fun. Anything specific?"

Kyoka shook her head, her earphone jacks swaying with her head movement. "Is there anything you needed or did you just come to see me?" Kyoka gave a smile to her girlfriend.

Y/n covered her mouth and chuckled. "Yes and yes." She gestured to the guitar in her hands. "I was trying to play something new but I think my guitar is out of tune and I was wondering if I could borrow your tuner?"

Kyoka nodded. Stepping up from her seat she walked to a shelf full of musical equipment and pulled out a guitar tuner.

"Oh you are so amazing. Thanks babe!" Y/n jumped up and kissed her girlfriend on the cheek. After a moment of fiddling with her guitar's strings and plucking random notes she handed the purple tuner back to Kyoka.

Pulling a plectrum, Y/n began to strum a few notes. The smile on her face grew before she began to move her fingers with delicate expertise all while strumming the pic against the strings.

With a flourishing bow, Y/n grinned at her girlfriend. "Thanks babe!" She set her guitar on Kyoka's bed and Tackled her girlfriend into a hug. Kyoka smiled, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend.

It's got a shiny green pickguard (and pickup switches), and a Maplewood neck + fretboard!

The fretboard has some cool little star inlays! That's something you don't see often :] isn't that awesome!?

We have some regular Fender-style tuners that have some shine to them :]

It's got two uncovered ceramic humbuckers for a twangy sound, along with a jazzmaster styled tremolo system (although the whammy bar is not featured here!), the bridge has some rolling calibration which makes sure it will stay in tune no matter what! And with low action at that for comfortability!

It's got a master sound and a master tone knob, along with a top mounted amp jack, which can be used with right angle cables for a better playing experience!!

It's got uneven cutaways that part to the sides which allow for easy access to higher frets without compromising hand position!

The electronics use 22 American wire gauge cables for reliability!

Screw it, gonna start posting random lore about my world without much context outside of random stuff I add in advance.

As a quick little note, I want my world and story to be a video game, the story telling medium is just for me, books take too long to write, shows are just a hard NO, and movies are weird. When it comes to web comics or a graphic novel, those are somewhat on the table.

This post will be the basics, nothing but the fundamentals and what not.

So where to start? Main characters.

First is Jack, full name: Jack Notrad, nickname: Merchant. He’s a guy who wanted to be an adventurer and technically got that wish. Now he’s a part of a global conspiracy, working with a god of darkness, learning the dark past of the world and trying to stop a supposed “day of reality’s end”. Fun facts: he loves savory food, knows how to sew, has some sorta neurodivergent trait, and always keeps a half compass half stopwatch gizmo in his backpack’s front pocket.

Nightmare is next. The outcasted god of darkness and current benefactor/partner of Merchant. Nightmare is seen as a cruel god, one who rules the night and all that’s evil. Although some is true, not all of it is. He isn’t evil, he only governs the darkness, and he has literally no control over people and their evil habits. He has a lot to go over but for now, I’ll just say that he hopes to one day be able to see every person grow and change. Fun facts: he hates paperwork, likes reading random books made by mortals about the mind, believes that darkness is needed to see the light, and can sense the despair and problems of people within his “domain”.

Next up is the Necro-Bard. A cocky, undead bard who wields a guitar scythe that is a whole can of worms in of itself. The Necro-Bars is just the scythe, the corpse is just an empty husk. The scythtar is an ancient relic of a titan of death, made to be wielded by the strongest beings of the world, Bards. The fear instilled by the Necro-Bard’s ballads are enough to make Lucifer shiver in fear. “Fun” facts: the scythe oozes a tar like liquid from a skull at the end of the tuners, the corpse is constantly rotting and is at least one overexertion from breaking, the titan is still alive and can sense the scythtar’s melody being played, finally the scythtar can create crystals that can steal people’s souls when touched.

Those are like the three main characters, at least for what I dub as act 1. Merchant and Nightmare work together to take down the Necro-Bard’s take over, not much else to it. They do meet a lot more threats and allies along the way though, so there is that. That’s about it for now, might continue this some other time when I get the urge again.

Dynaco Addendum Addendum...

From The Department of Redundancy Department:

Looks like I am going have a few days of uninterrupted solitude in which to dive back into the PAS3X and replace the broken three-wafer Source Switch. Roomie heads out of town for a few days on Sunday.

This will entail, of course, breaking the system down temporarily and ironically un-doing half of the stuff I have already done and re-doing it again.

Namely, unsolder every wire from the new back-panel RCA jacks (without damaging the the new jacks in the process), and then installing the new (used) Source Switch, and re-soldering the RCAs with the leads from the replacement switch.

There are also some other cleaning/rewiring things I have to do to the switch itself, before I put it in. The guy stripped it of the big square flat caps that are wired in between two of the three wafers.

I will re-route things temporarily to the Altec computer speaker system until I'm done with the PAS completely. Then I will finish the wiring-up of the rest of the System, including my venerable Rat Shack mixer, which will allow an array of additional inputs and tape options.

I'm not gonna lie...it's gonna be hard to power the Dynaco down to do the repairs! I have been turning it on as soon as I wake up, and not shutting down until i go to bed. The FM3 is an amazing tuner, it hones right in on the signal from KDFC and it stays rock-solid all day.

I forgot just how much I loved listening to the classical radio station all day! KMFA in Austin and now KDFC here in The Bay...it is a way to still feel connected to a real sense of community by simply turning the tubes on, no matter how isolated I am, I know that by tuning in I'm listening along with thousands of other lovers of classical music every moment of every day. There's something about that which will never translate to any other medium.
