Tried doing another traditional piece done entirely with pencil & pen crosshatchshading. But this time the drawings in question feature the characters from Jack Stauber’s animated short OPAL.

This short means a lot to me, so I was destined to draw fanart for it at some point. The overall theme about wanting to be seen really hits close to home. 🖤

I wanted to show a piece that kinda tied into Marvin’s relationship with his audience. Without his trauma he wouldn’t be famous and have the “spotlight” on him but at the same time, no one’s there for his lowest moments.

He’s alone.

But as long as he’s seen, he reasons it’s worth it.
