Earlier this week on my birthday I went to this local theater to see a movie. The thing about this theater is that they open an hour before they actually start screening the movie and show a variety of short films. One of those short films just so happened to be Opal by Jack Stauber, which I happen to like quite a bit. Seeing it on a big screen in a theater was so cool, it’s probably one of the best birthday gifts I’ve ever gotten and it wasn’t even from anybody.

#this was also my first time going to this theater after like two years of putting off checking it out and I’m so fucking mad at myself #bc I had so much fun and what do you mean I could’ve easily been going here regularly for the past two years but just didn’t??#for context: it’s a ten minute walk from where I live and admission is only five bucks #it’s one of those tiny theaters that pretty much exclusively shows cult classics #also there’s a bar in the actual theater itself. like behind the seats. where they serve cocktails themed to the movie they’re showing #also when you buy your ticket you get entered into a raffle they have right before they start the movie #and when you buy popcorn there they give it to you in a metal bucket #god im so fucking mad at myself #man I hope nobody from my area is reading this bc that got pretty specific #anna talking about stuff #jack stauber #jack staubers opal

Tried doing another traditional piece done entirely with pencil & pen crosshatchshading. But this time the drawings in question feature the characters from Jack Stauber’s animated short OPAL.
