Listening to a podcast with Jude Southerland Kessler, who's working on a (projected 9 part) biography of John Lennon. I like the cut of her jib. She talks about trying to reconcile the different sources when they disagree, and how some sources might be good for interpretation but less good for specific details. She has also conducted *a lot* of in-person interviews with people who were Actually There.

I'm super curious if anyone has read her books, and especially what her attitude is to Paul. At one point in the podcast she discussed how few people had actually gotten close to John and it seemed almost pointed that Paul wasn't in the list. It made me very curious if she's one of those John fans who have an irrational dislike of Paul.

The podcast is Here, There, and Everywhere hosted by Jack Lawless btw, who never makes it into my whinges about Dudes On Podcasts. He's humble and interested and has a wonderful variety of guests.

Jack quickly whips out all the paint and paintbrushes he needed, ignoring the painful tent in his pants—it could wait, he desperately needed to capture everything, the way tears wet your blindfold, how some of the ribbon was soaked in your juices, and the way his marks littered all over your perfect body. The red ribbon contrasted so beautifully against your skin, like a beautiful puppet carved with delicate affection, how could he not adore and worship you?

location; the faceless ship time forces an evolution of the self, lest you fall into decay, a stagnating rot that poisons the mind and makes you yearn for a nostalgic past. sometimes, a husk is shed, revealing something far different underneath - that is how maxine feels when around a certain creature that wears the skin of someone she still calls friend. perhaps august had always been like it, warning signs blinded by the bond forged between them in their youth but...but. the return to new york was followed by a return to his side, still loyal to those with whom she had gotten up to mischief with as a teenager. they once stole a car and drove it halfway across the state, craving the beach. somewhere private, in her apartment, she had a photo they took together with her polaroid. he was hard to find in a sea of newly faceless people, though max wasn't sure why she felt the need to seek him out. some odd form of security? to ask for his presence when she eventually found herself on the 4th floor to fight. with a sigh, the woman fished a cigarette from the case in her pocket (gold, a present from her grandmother to her father when he turned 18. it was hers now), putting it between maroon stained lips and then going for the cigarette. of course, she wasn't alone in the designated smoking area, plenty were here...including -

not his voice but, certainly mannerisms and height. "you got a light?" a question directed specifically, if her hunch was incorrect then at least she could feign ignorance.
