LUKE HUGHES was the sweetest, most adorable guy you have ever met.
Falling for him wasn’t anything out of this world, you were just another person to fall in love with his wholesome personality, and even though you had certain advantages over the other girls— because you knew him personally— you never really did anything.
When Jack told you that Luke had a crush on you— yesterday, literally—, the first thought that came to your mind was: “How?”
He always acted sweet and shy around you, besides treating you with utmost respect and affection. He takes care of you whenever you need, he knows your favorite drinks and your favorite TV shows, knows that when you’re bored you like to watch Disney Channel’s cringe ass shows just to laugh at the actors’ lines.
So him, having a crush on you, wasn’t at all that much of a surprise.
The fact that he hadn’t done anything about it, though? Yeah. That was a big, unexpected surprise.
Now it was Thursday, and while you got ready in your room, and waited for your best friend, Suzy, to pick you up, you thought of ways of making Luke want to confess to you.
You wouldn’t be the one doing it first, no. You had too much pride for that, and with every reason. You were gorgeous, you didn’t need anyone to tell you that. You could say that you’re too much of a princess and you don’t like to run after boys, but in reality, it was just that all of the men you had relations with were just a bunch of assholes.
They wanted you to be the first to make a move, they wanted you to decide where you would have dinner, or what movie you would watch. And that just doesn’t work for you, at least not anymore. You want them to work for getting you, not the other way around.
But with Luke, things were different. You can’t just know that Luke Hughes has a crush on you and not do anything. So you would have to be smart, and make him want to tell you how he feels, without asking him to.
Is this some way of gaslighting?, you ask yourself, applying some more blush to your face, I don’t know. But it has to be done, I guess.
Suzy didn’t take long to get to your house, and you got inside her car, complementing her Snow White costume. Now, you’re even more glad that you spent hours trying to choose the perfect costume for Mercer’s party. Usually, you’d go for something that showed less skin and was more scary than slutty, but something told you that this year you needed a change; and if that change was shortening your skirt and wearing a corset that squeeze your tits and push them up higher, then so be it.
𖧷
“SOMEONE SHOULD’VE told me that Dawson was planning on throwing his Halloween party at a fucking haunted mansion.”
You laugh, getting out of the car and feeling the cold breeze hit your skin, the sight of the tall, dark house in front of you making you shiver.
The party was happening inside a huge mansion that looks like it had been abandoned for years even though you know it’s all just play pretend. The front of it is highly decorated with skeletons, coffins, trash and signs that read:
“YOUR FINAL STOP,” and “WELCOME TO YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE.”
You thought it was all super funny, while Suzy whined beside you, and held your arm like her life depended on it. Entering the house after showing your ID and giving your name to the security guard at the front door, you saw that the interior is just as decorated as the outside, if not more.
“How much do you think Dawson spent on this?” You ask, genuinely curious.
Suzy started rambling about how he probably spent a lot of money and how there were thousands of people inside the mansion and how you were never going to find Jack or Nico or anyone for that matter because everyone were wearing costumes and makeup and—
“It’ll be fine,” you cut her off, shouting over the loud music. “I mean, are there hundreds of people here? Yes. Will we be able to find them? Very unlikely. But it’s fine, right?”
“I guess?” She cocks her head, her curls going everywhere. “Can we grab something to drink, though? You know I need my daily dose of beer…”
“You’re crazy. But yeah, we can.”
Moving through the sea of bodies, you greeted so many people that your head was starting to get tired. You didn’t even know all of them properly, but since Jack, Quinn and Luke knew so many people, and you were always with them, people said “hi” to you anyway.
Finding the drink section had been like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert, and while Suzy grabbed a can of beer, you had a shot of vodka before grabbing a non-alcoholic drink, wanting to be very aware of your actions through the night.
You got back to walking, listening to Suzy’s long complaints about how much time you spent talking with people she didn’t know and how she wanted to dance.
“Fuck, Mila, this is Drake!” She shouts, grabbing your hand and pulling you to the side, where a bunch of people were dancing.
“I was talking to Elliot, you know,” you shout, laughing.
“I don’t care, baby, this fucking song makes me want to go crazy and make out with you!” Suzy throws her arms up, jumping.
“Baby, that’s the alcohol speaking.” You smile, giving up and moving with the beat.
You need to get done, done, done, done at work, come over
We just need to slow the motion
Don't give that away to no one
Long distance, I need you
You danced with Suzy, not letting your mind think of Luke or anything else. Moving your hips was way easier when you didn’t have to worry about anything.
When I see potential I just gotta see it through
If you had a twin, I would still choose you
I don't wanna rush into it, if it's too soon
But I know you need to get done, done, done, done
Suzy’s hands caressed your body, as she goes to the floor, making you smile as she runs her hands through your bare legs, mouthing the lyrics to the song, singing Drake’s verse with a flirty tone. She got up and you turned around, laughing as you grind your ass on her, placing your hands on your knees and moving your hips while she held your waist, playfully.
I spilled all my emotions tonight, I'm sorry
Rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'
How many more shots until you're rollin'?
While you danced, and while Suzy sang to you and hugged you tight, you felt a weird sensation in your chest. You were constantly getting goosebumps, and the left side of your neck burned. But no matter how much you looked around, you couldn’t find anything weird.
You knew so many people there, you could see Nico, Cole, Matt; and yeah, some of the guys were watching you and Suzy dance but that’s just normal, expected behavior from men.
Until you saw him.
There, standing in the corner of the room, leaning against the wall and holding a typical American red cup, wearing a full black outfit and.
Was that a ghostface mask?
You couldn’t be sure of who was behind the mask, but for some reason, you couldn’t take your eyes off him— and it looked like neither could he. While you ground on Suzy and danced with her, you made eye contact with the mask, feeling the hair on your arm going up; the hotness that before only covered the left side of your neck, was now running down your body, making you feel warm all over.
Which is weird, so weird.
Suddenly, the lights are off, and now everyone’s screaming with excitement and exhilaration, making you jump slightly, trying to find Suzy’s body. Once you do, you shout at her— or at least at what you hope is her ear.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine!” She yells back, and you can tell that she’s having a lot of fun for someone who was just complaining about how scary the house looked. “This is so fun!”
“It is, yeah,” you reply, as they turn the lights back on, the music somehow louder and the people even more animated.
“We need to dance more and then,” she gets closer, biting her lips. “I’ll find someone to fuck me.”
“Jesus,” you roll your eyes. “You’re insane.”
“Maybe.”
You laughed before moving your body with the next song again, dancing for what felt like hours, but not as thoughtless as you were before, no. Now all you could think of was the man that stood in the corner of the room and that now wasn’t there anymore, vanished as soon as the lights were on again.
Even if you had already looked around the entire room and you were one hundred percent sure that that man wasn’t there anymore, you could feel his presence around you, making your skin crawl with need.
I’m fucked up. Probably.
𖧷
YOU DON’T know where Suzy is.
Sometime between dancing and drinking, she found someone and disappeared like she had never been here in the first place.
You were tired, and you wanted to go back home, but, unfortunately, Suzy was your ride, so you’d have to wait until she’s done to go back to your apartment.
Of course, you could always call a taxi, or even one of the people you knew, or maybe try to call Jack or even Luke—
Luke. You hadn’t thought about him since you arrived at the party, too worried about having fun to even think of doing anything else.
But he’s not here anyway, you find yourself pouting, standing in the middle of the huge, fancy bathroom and staring at yourself in the mirror. At least I don’t think so.
But Jack had told you that he would be there, and Jack could be many things, but a liar wasn’t one of them. So, Luke probably is here, just hiding in a corner, like he usually did, always the shy boy.
Corner. Man. Black outfit. Ghostface.
Right, you take a deep breath. I’ll try to find him. Maybe I’ll manage to kiss him before leaving.
The thought of kissing Luke motivated you to get past the ocean of people, looking for curly hair and thick thighs. It didn’t help that you didn’t know what he was wearing or who he was with, but you were determined.
You walked the entire first floor, feeling your legs burn with how many steps you had already taken, especially after wearing high heels for so many hours. Luke definitely wasn’t there, and you were starting to feel frustrated.
You went up the stairs, regretting almost immediately. Dawson didn’t just decorate the first floor and the outside of the mansion, but the second floor as well. And if you thought the first floor was bad, this was even worse.
It was empty, it looked worse than the fucking Haunted House at Disneyland, and it was creepy as fuck. You started walking down the hallway, looking around while wrapping your arms around your middle, listening to the muffled sounds from downstairs.
Why isn’t anyone up here?
You walk past closed doors, until you stop in front of the only open one. Curious, you get inside the room, finding out that it was some kind of office: a big, dark wooden desk sat in the middle of the room, with an expensive looking chair behind it, and tons of books decorating the bookshelves against the walls.
A couch decorated the corner, and so did a lamp and a coffee table. You were just about to leave and go back to the party when you saw it— there, laying on the couch, the mask from before.
You hold in a gasp, feeling the left side of your neck burning again.
He’s here, he’s here. He’s here and he knows I’m here too.
“Took you long enough, bunny.”
You let out a scream, turning around to face the same man from before, who was now standing right behind you.
“L-Luke,” breathing fast, you mumble his name. “God, you scared me.”
“Sorry. Not my intention.”
He walks inside the room, sitting beside the mask— his mask.
“It… it was you.” You whisper, eyeing his clothes. The exact same outfit the man who watched you dance with Suzy and made you feel hot all over was wearing.
“Me?” He cocks his head, like he doesn’t know what you’re talking about.
“You,” you nod. “Downstairs. When I was dancing with Suzy.”
He stays quiet, not saying anything to confirm nor deny.
“Why didn’t you say anything? I’ve been looking for you for a while now.” You ask, confused.
“You looked like you were having so much fun,” there’s some kind of sarcasm in his tone, but you can’t really tell why. “I didn’t want to ruin your fun, that’s all.”
Usually, you’d just play around and tell him something funny. But you remembered what Jack said, and you also remembered that you had a plan. Make Luke Hughes confess his feelings for you.
Smiling and walking further inside the bedroom, you start your plan.
“You know you could never ruin my fun,” you say. “I missed you.”
He smirks, spreading his thighs on the couch.
“Yeah?” You nod. “I missed you too. You look cute with your little bunny outfit.”
You give him a little twirl, placing your hands on your hips. “D’you like it? I also think it looks great.”
He hums, before getting up, standing in front of you, his 6’2” figure making you feel small, even though you were 5’4” yourself.
“Why were you looking for me, Mila?”
His tone is so different from what you’re used to. He doesn’t sound sweet and adorable anymore, and for some reason, it has you intrigued. His eyes, looking darker with so little lighting in the room, staring down at you.
“I just wanted to see you. ‘Been a while, no?” Sweetening your voice to the max, you blink twice. “Perhaps we could, I don’t know, have some fun?”
His smile only widens at that, and just when you thought you were about to get what you want, his next words make you freeze.
“Do you think I’m dumb?”
You frown at his words, gulping.
“W-what do you mean?” You whisper.
“Bunny, bunny,” he clicks his tongue, stepping closer to you. “You think I don’t know what you’re doing?”
“I’m not doing anything—”
“I know Jack talked to you,” he whispers. “He isn’t exactly subtle. And I’ve seen you with boys before. You use those pretty, sweet eyes to make them fall for you, do whatever you want, beg for just a little bite. Am I wrong?”
You bite your lips, holding the hem of your skirt, looking for some kind of support. Luke’s breathy voice makes all of your tiredness leave your body.
“I asked you a question, cutie.”
“No,” you whisper. “You’re not wrong, Luke.”
The smile he gives you is brighter than the moon shining in the sky.
“I know I’m not, baby,” he gets closer, placing his large hand on your waist, on top of your corset. “So, if you want to have some fun with me,” he continues, using the same words you used not even five minutes ago. “It will have to be the way I want it to be, right?”
You nod with your head, scared that he would find out your underwear is slowly getting wetter and wetter.
He gives you a forehead kiss before stepping back, walking towards the door, letting you wonder if he was just being silly and was in fact leaving the room. Which he doesn’t, just closes the door and walks back at you, eyeing you like a wolf would look at a bunny.
Luke kissed you as if he was hungry, thirsty for something he could only get if he stuck your lips together. His hands, warm and large, encircled your waist and pushed you until your back hit the large bookshelf that decorated the wall of the office.
“Fuck,” Luke moans against your mouth. “I’ve been wanting to do this for so long.”
You wanted to tell him that you had too, but you didn’t even have time; Luke kissed you again, making you stand on your tiptoes, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck, messing up the curls that decorated his head.
His mouth moved against yours, his lips sweet and soft, different from the way he kissed you: bruising and desperate, holding you so close that you feared, for a second, that the two of you would become one.
“I’m gonna fuck you,” he warns, his green eyes, now a darker shade, looking into yours and showing all the impure thoughts he was having. “I’m gonna fuck you hard against that table, Mila, and I swear to God I won’t stop. So, if you don’t want that, tell me now and I’ll take you home.”
“No,” you say, desperately and shamefully wet. “I need you.”
“I know you do,” he says, his voice full of malice. His hands roam your body, touching only the top of your breasts, not lingering on them for more than a minute.
Then, Luke’s hands find the middle of your legs, and you close your eyes, embarrassed that he would now know how turned on you were.
You can hear Luke’s ragged breathing as he pulls the wet fabric of your panties up, making you moan as the fabric touches your clit, splitting your two outer labia.
“You’re so wet, bunny,” He murmurs against your skin, playing with the thin and—now—soaked fabric of your panties. “I bet I don’t even have to prep you before slamming my dick into you with how sloppy you probably are.”
You moan loudly, feeling your cheeks burn with embarrassment.
“Luke—”
Your speech is cut off when he shoves your panties to the side and thrusts two fingers inside you, thrusting them with urgency and need.
“I knew it,” he chuckles. “So. Fucking. Loose.”
You grip his arm, feeling wetter than you had ever felt in your life. Luke had always been sweet and loving, and you loved that face of his. But this? This is so much better.
Two of his fingers were moving in and out quickly, while his thumb was touching your clit quickly, making you see stars. The wet sounds filled the room and made you close your eyes in shame.
The weight of Luke's body on yours was comfortable and overwhelming at the same time, the height difference only making you feel even more like prey that had just been captured.
“Luke, fuck.”
“It’s a shame that a cute bunny like you has such a dirty mouth,” he makes a tsc sound with his tongue, not once stopping moving his fingers. “Did no one teach you manners?”
You shake your head, moaning loudly and forgetting that the door wasn’t locked, and that there was a party going on downstairs, with hundreds of people who at any moment could open the door and see the obscenity happening in front of them.
“I’m gonna come, Luke, please, I will—”
Tears immediately form in your eyes when Luke suddenly removes his fingers from inside you. “What? Why did you stop?” You sob.
“Because I wanted to.” He simply says, kissing your cheek, the sweetness of his act contrasting with the harshness of his words.
He comes closer again, running both hands behind your thighs, picking you up with ease. Then, he walks towards the table in the middle of the room, stopping in front of it and placing you on the floor gently.
He kisses you again, biting your lips right after.
“Turn around, cutie,” he smiles, before unbuttoning his pants and pulling them down along with his underwear, making you sigh.
Luke is big. Like, bigger than any of the guys you’ve been with before, probably thicker too.
“What?” He smirks. “Did the little bunny bite off more than she can chew?”
Gulping, you shake your head. “Y-you’re… big.”
“Mhm,” he shamelessly grabs his cock, stroking the head a few times, spreading the precum all over his length, as you watch with awe, his hand size matching his dick. “Think you can take it?”
Even though your brain screamed for you to run and hide, the unstoppable throbbing between your legs was too hard to ignore.
“Yes, but… even if I can’t,” you tilt your head up, staring at his lustful eyes. “You’ll make me, right?”
“Smart, smart bunny.”
He kisses you again before turning your body around, placing your hands on the table and lifting your skirt. You can feel him removing your panties as he spreads your legs wide with his feet.
He runs his cock over your lips for a few seconds, the wet sounds echoing off the walls of the room, and when he finally enters, it’s like everything you’ve been searching for finally makes sense.
“Holy fuck, Mila,” he groans, resting his torso against your back.
He doesn’t wait for you to adjust before pulling his entire length out of you and putting it back in, thrusting hard and precisely. Your hands grip the wood beneath your fingers tightly, and your eyes meet the back of your head.
You can feel the tears decorating your face, as Luke grips your waist with an incredible force and pushes his cock hard inside you, moaning loudly.
“You’re so fucking wet, baby,” he says, and you bite your lips, holding back a loud moan. “You’re getting my dick so wet.”
“Luke.”
You didn’t care about anything anymore. All you wanted was to cum, and preferably on his fingers.
He seemed to have heard your thoughts, as it didn't take him long to support one of your legs on the table, entering even deeper inside you, hitting places no one had ever hit before. Then, moving his fingers over your engorged clit, he rubbed it mercilessly, your orgasm building faster, since he edged you not even ten minutes ago.
“Luke,” you sob, calling out his name. “I’m gonna come.”
“Are you going to make a mess?”
“I-I don’t know—”
“Then hold it,” he says, as he applies even more pressure on your sensitive nub, slamming his dick deeper onto your g-spot.
“I can’t, I need to—”
“Baby, you’re not the one in charge here,” his voice is soft, gentle and calming— it didn't stop your tears, though. “If you’re not gonna make a mess, then why should I bother letting you come anyway?”
“Please, Luke, please,” you hiccup, feeling some pieces of the wood get under your nails with how hard you were scratching the table.
“Make a mess, Mila. That’s the only way you’re coming tonight.”
You’re dizzy. Your head is empty and you only need to let Luke ruin you, and everything you believe. When you finally reach your peak, you come, wetting his fingers, your thighs and the table, but none of that is enough for the curly haired boy behind you.
He keeps rubbing you, biting your neck, fucking you into pure oblivion, overwhelming you to the max. And when you feel himself pulling away, you shake your head, crying louder and clenching your hole around his dick.
He hisses. “Mila.”
“No,” you cry. “Inside— ah, please.”
“You’ll drive me insane,” he jokes, but there isn't a hint of playfulness in his tone. He keeps slamming inside you, until he finally comes, painting your insides white with his release.
It’s dirty, raw and human. It’s oddly comforting and overwhelming at the same time; it’s maddening.
People have been put in mental institutions for feeling much less than you right now.
“Mila.”
Luke’s voice is far, and as you rest your forehead against the cold wood of the table, you can feel him pulling away from you.
“Bunny?”
You feel his hand on your hair, and you can feel his presence everywhere. Wiping your cheeks, cleaning your thighs with his shirt, putting your underwear back on, pulling your skirt down. You can feel his warm, burning body behind you as he gets you up and rests your back against his toned abs, kissing your neck gently.
“Hey,” he whispers, and you can tell he’s trying so hard not to freak you out. “Mila, baby.”
“‘Gimme a minute,” you whisper, smelling his perfume, a mix of sandalwood and patchouli.
He lets out a quiet laugh, caressing your thigh with the same hands that held you so strongly not even five minutes ago.
“Do you want to sit?”
“I don’t think I can move my legs right now,” You chuckle, and he hums, wrapping his arms around your waist and lifting you up again, walking you to the couch, laying down with you on top of him. “Feels nice.”
“I know,” he hums back. “Listen, I’m so—”
“Don’t you dare say you’re sorry,” you ask, closing your eyes. “I wanted this.”
“I wasn’t going to apologize for fucking you,” he laughs, and you feel his chest moving under you. “I was going to apologize for not telling you sooner.”
“Telling me what?”
“That I like you.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah,” he kisses your temple. “I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. I guess I was just scared.”
Now he sounded like the boy you knew.
“Same. I like you too much to screw things up.” You confess, feeling your cheeks burn.
“Well, that’s good to know.”
You snuggle closer to his body, ignoring the wet clothes and the fact that there was a party happening downstairs, and that Suzy was probably looking for you.
But it was fine. You could deal with her tomorrow.

The Guy at the Bar
[ Jack Abbot x reader ]
~ Fluff, maybe ooc Abbot? WC: 1899
~ Prequel to Just a Bit of Fun
[ - Banner coming Soon - ]
- You meet a maybe grumpy old man at a bar
Being a doctor is no joke.
After a 12 hour shift all you want to do is chill for a while and maybe have a beer. What a better place to do that then a janky old bar with only one worker and shady people hiding in every corner.
It's definitely not the fanciest place ever, but it's cheap and convenient. Ten times better than going home and cooking for yourself.
You've had a hard day and going home seems too daunting at the moment. Maybe you'll feel better after scrolling on your phone with cheap food and even cheaper drinks.
But no, of course the world just has to throw something else your way today. As if a hard day working at a shitty hospital isn't enough.
"Excuse me." You say to older man sitting on the corner bar stool. The stool you sit in after almost every hard shift at the hospital just a street over.
"What." It's not a question. Just a word thrown out with no real interest in the answer. You pause for a spilt second. Confused at his harsh tone but you're not the only one that has hard days.
"Is there any way you could move to another stool?" You try to ask as polite as possible. You know he has no reason to listen to your request but you're not one that does well with change. Even something as small as a stool. A routine is important. Especially while working in a place as chaotic as an ER everyday.
"Why?" He asks, this time with a little interest. At least you think. You can't tell considering he has a completely straight face and won't take his eyes off the drink in front of him.
"I sit here every time I come here." You try to explain in a way that doesn't make you sound dramatic or childish. By the way his lip curls up on the side, you don't think you succeeded.
"Must come here a lot to have your own stool." He doesn't look your way or pay any attention to you. If he hadn't responded so quick you'd think he was ignoring you entirely.
"I work a hard job. Sometimes I just want to relax with some bad bar fries." You don't have to explain yourself. You could find another stool instead of standing here over explaining yourself to a complete stranger. A stool is not a big deal and this man shows no sign of moving.
"At seven in the morning?" There's no judgement is his tone. He seems more like he's trying to get a simple read on you. Not really necessary in order to switch stools but you won't question him, out loud.
"I work nights. What's your excuse?" He gives you a other lip curl and tilts his head to actually look at you for the first time during this conversation.
"You're not the only one on the night shift." He takes a second to actually look you. Unfortunately after a long shift, you know you probably look like a mess.
"Y'know we don't have to bond for you to move." You match his strange voice. If you had to pin his vibes down, it would be an uneven mixture of mystique and sadness.
"My stool, my rules." He shrugs and finishes his drink.
"Oh that is not your stool and you know it." You're ashamed of the whine that comes through your words, luckily it's masking your struggle to not laugh. You wouldn't want him to downplay how serious this is.
"My ass is on it."
"Well your ass is about to be knocked out of it." He turns back around to face you with an eyebrow raised. You're not actually gonna knock him on his ass. That's a very dramatic reaction to a simple situation and this man is far too scary looking to even consider it.
"Wow. Wasn't expecting to be threatened by a stranger today." He doesn't look worried at all. Makes sense. You are complaining about a stool.
"In this city? You're just asking for issues at that point. You should always be weary of strangers."
His eyes widen just enough to be noticeable. "I'm pretty I could handle it."
"Alright but I don't want to hear any complaining when you end up on the floor." You laugh and he continues staring at you intensely.
He takes another look at you before turning back to his drink. "Fine I'll move. Wouldn't want to end up on such a nasty floor." He eventually resigned. You want to think your toughness scared him off but realistically he got annoyed by your presence.
You're about to celebrate this small win but he gets up and sits back down on the stool directly next to yours.
"Why man? Why?" He smirks to himself as you sigh in confusion and annoyance but still sit on your stool to celebrate your small victory.
"I'm Jack." He introduces. He doesn't do anything fancy like reach out to shake your hand. Once again you'd believe he's ignoring you if it weren't for his short responses.
"How interesting." You remark in fake uncaring. Of course you're secretly excited that this handsome man wanting to introduce himself to you, unprompted at that.
"Do I not get to get know your name?"
"I see no reason why you need it." You shrug as you wait for the bartender. "For all I know you'll try to follow me home and murder me."
"I am definitely not gonna do that."
"Exactly what a murder would say." You double down, not looking his way.
"Okay, that's fair." He raises his hands in play defense. "But in my defense it's also what a non-murderer would say."
"Well I guess I'll never know."
You fall into silence until the bartender comes. You chose not to order an alcohol for the day and instead settle for a simple appetizer. He orders another of whatever he had been drinking when you arrived.
"So what is your hard job?"
"You're real chatty aren't you?"
"You must bring it out of me." You shake your head with a smile. You look over to see a similar smirk on his face.
"I'm a doctor." You decide to answer. What's the harm of indulging a men you'll never see again. Granted he's not a murderer or alcoholic.
"What a coincidence, so am I." He turns his entire body to face more in your direction.
"Coincidence indeed. What kind?" He doesn't give you doctor vibes at all.
He sighs heavily and takes a big drink. "ER."
"No shit." You turn your body towards him as well. Now you're completely facing each other. For the first time can see his whole face. It's probably just the bar lighting but he's extremely good looking.
"You too?"
"Yeah, just across the street."
"That place is the worst."
"Definitely. Where are you at?" As you talk he leans over and steals a piece of your food. You're about to lecture him but he shakes his head at you and offers a bit of his drink. What the fuck is up with this guy?
It makes you laugh to yourself. You never thought you'd meet such a weird guy in such a weird place. Actually that makes a lot of sense. You shouldn't be too surprised.
"Pittsburgh Trauma."
"I've heard no good things about that place." Apparently the staff calls it The Pitt. Nothing good can come from that name.
"It's not so bad."
"So says the man on drink two at seven in the morning."
"What can I say, I'm a lot more positive after two drinks."
"This is you being positive?" He chuckles at your slight surprise.
"You come here after every shift?" He asks suddenly, changing the subject completely.
"Not all of them. Usually when I'm too tired to cook or had a hard shift." You sigh and reach over to take a sip of his drink. If he's gonna be weird, so can you. Here's hoping he doesn't have any sort of strange disease you can catch. "Why are you here?"
"Hard shift. As usual."
"Trauma's tough."
"Y'know we almost always have positions available." He casually mentions. Now that the bar is close to closing they turn up the lights just a little bit. It's unusual how seeimh him in more light, makes him more attractive. You can see a lot better how much older than you he is.
"Sorry are you trying to make me come work for you." You chortle at his not so subtle antics.
"We could always use more people."
"You don't even know my name, let alone how good of a doctor I am." Before he can answer, you decide to order a drink after all. It might help ease the nerves of talking to Jack. You've only been referring to him as that guy in your mind. Even thinking his name changes the vibe of this situation.
Once you're done ordering, Jack leans slightly into your space. "It's okay, I could teach you."
He says it with a straight face. It's very hard to tell if he's flirting or not. Does he mean to sound so flirty with that or is he just very serious about his job? Maybe it's just his voice making it sound like this.
"Unfortunately I require no teaching." You say it quietly because he's still leaned over to you. He has his arm resting on the bar and his hand holding his head.
"So you say." Okay. Flirting or insulting? This guy is hard to read but you're not about to ask him for clarification. Wait maybe that'd be a good thing, he strikes you as the type to like that.
"Do you always offer jobs to people you meet in bars?"
"No this would be a first. You seem interesting."
"Usually if you wanna flatter someone you call them something better than interesting."
"I'm not trying to flatter you."
"Are you not? Maybe it's just the tone of your voice that gives that impression."
"My tone?" He wonders in genuine curiosity.
"Yeah it's confusing. You could be super excited or about to jump off a roof and I can't tell which."
He immediately lets out a loud, bold laugh.
"I think you can read me a lot better than you think." He admits with lingering hints of laughter.
"Spend some time on roofs do you?" You copy his pose by resting your arm on the bar and putting your head in your hand.
Naturally, this pose moves you both closer together than before. You're realizing now how close together the stools are.
"More than the average."
Checking your phone, you notice how close it is to closing.
"Oh what a great note to end off with." You chuckle to yourself as you get up to pay your bill.
Jack doesn't move from his seat and you decide to give him the benefit of the doubt. You highly doubt a murderer would come as strange as he has.
Before you leave, you chose to give him your receipt with your name on it.
He grabs your wrist to stop you from walking away so quick. "Think about what I said. We'd love an employee I don't have to teach."
"We'll see."

hotpink. toji f.
cw: nastyy.
Tumblr media
head is filled with nothing but toji fucking you like a little slut in your hyper pink bedroom and some k-pop song you liked playing in the background.
like how did toji, this fucking jacked scary life guard with jet black hair, tattoos and also twice your size you met while you were volunteering to pass out lemonade at a public pool in your cutest little summer outfit, end up in your pretty pink room?
..let alone knee deep into your pretty pink pussy?
i mean everything was pink. walls, bedframe, carpet, your vanity, even the god damn door was fucking pink with even more pink sparkles on it! even small pink stuffies scattered across your bed.
even toji himself doesn't really know how he ended up here, not that hes complaining. one minute hes getting off from volunteer hours, deciding to just go over and grab a lemonade. next, the cute girl at the stand is flirting with him?? bending over in her pretty jean skirt and eating that lollipop a little too intimately.
"why dont you come home with me?.. show me some more of your..swimming skills ...... "
so.. here he was. he fucked you with his arm around your neck, a headlock. his heavy balls hitting your cunny harshly with every thrust he gave you. your pretty nails scratching at his muscles while your eyes rolled to the back of your head.
"you fuckin' stupid? think you can jus' say slick shit like that and think you wont be handled? hm?"
toji raised his arm with your head in it so he could see your face in the mirror across from the bed. your mascara was ruined with hot tears running down your face. the sparkly lip gloss you had on earlier smeared all over your mouth as well as his, even your lashes all messy from when he spit in your face a couple minutes ago.
your mouth opened to respond but it was like a moan was stuck in your throat and all you could do was look at him. your eyes teary and nose runny.
"answer me, i wanna hear it."
"n-o.. m' so sorr-yyyy"
a shit eating grin grew on his lips, letting your head fall into the comforter so you could breathe a little better while he focused on where on your back he was gonna push to fuck you at a better angle.
its like you could feel your brain spinning in your head. what could you even focus on right now?! how you could feel the veins in his cock sliding against your walls? how big his hands feel whenever he grabs at your love handles? how loud he's grunting and how it sounded with your favorite song playing in the back? it was just so much.
you bit the comforter to stop yourself from getting too loud, yelping into it when he slapped your ass and pulled your hips harder against him, trying your best to keep up with his ruthless pace.
the charms on your bracelets making noise while they tried to grab everything they could, knowing not to even try to reach back and stop him cus' he'd just pin them to your back and use them as leverage.
maybe you should start going for scary guys more often..

taste ft. luke hughes
in which...
you know you'll always be present in luke hughes' life, even if you aren't together.
warnings: MDNI!! brief smut, oral sex (f! receiving), alcohol consumption, cheating (? kinda but not really), i think that's it
track one in short n' sweet (hughes brothers version) series !
quick note: bit earlier than expected, but i can’t let you guys know my next move
Oh, I leave quite an impression
Five feet to be exact
“Damn, Lukey. You walked past her and she looked tiny as hell.” Jack teased his younger brother.
Luke hadn’t been able to take his eyes off of you. You were currently in an intense game of beer pong against his older brother and a guest whom he hadn’t bothered to learn the name of, your short, tight dress leaving the youngest Hughes starstruck. He watched as you threw the small ping pong ball across the table, yet again with the accuracy to have his eldest brother chugging from a red Solo cup for the eighth time that night.
“She’s not that short. I’m just really tall, I guess.” Luke yelled in response, the loud music filling the space making it impossible for him to be heard at a normal level.
Jack rolled his eyes, siping whatever mixed concoction he had made in his not-so-sober state. “Uh-huh. At least you aren’t worrying about Natalie anymore.”
Quinn groaned as he missed the cup across from him, Alright, next round I want Y/N on my team!”
You laughed loudly, leaving Luke even more mesmerized. “Q, the drunker you get the less losing hurts.”
Once again, it was your turn to throw the ball. You stuck your tongue slightly past your lips in concentration as you tried your best to aim towards the red plastic.
“Hang on, hang on.” Quinn stalled, causing you to groan dramatically. “You’re scary good at this. So, you can’t look at the cups. Take a blind shot.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, “What? How is that fair?” “It’s not, but neither is how good you are.”
“Whatever.” You agreed, turning your head to look at anything else. Before the ball could escape the grasp of your fingertips, your eyes wandered a little too much, making eye contact with Luke. He was already staring at you, so he didn’t bother to look away when you met his gaze.
The way he was leaning against the counter, legs spread and his tight jeans doing nothing to hide the prominent print of his cock peeking through.
In your awe, you dropped the round piece of plastic, letting it fall into the cup of beer below it.
“Does that mean you drink?” Quinn asked.
You're wondering why half his clothes went missing
My body's where they're at
The bright sunlight woke you up. You groaned as you blinked your eyes open, taking in the moment. Well, until it was interrupted.
Luke threw his arm around you, your body covered in a large piece of fabric. “My hoodie looks nice on you.”
You laughed softly, “You should let me keep it then.”
“I didn’t plan on ever taking it back.” He answered, peppering soft kisses on your face, quickly finding your lips. The more your senses started to come back, the more intimate the moment felt.
You soaked in the sunlight together, not wanting the moment to come to an end. But unfortunately, you had a cat back at your apartment who was probably meowing for food by now.
“Gotta go, Luke.” You mumbled against his lips, doing nothing to stop his wandering hand from finding its way in between your legs.
His lips trailed from your lips to your neck, finding that sweet spot that made you cry out softly. “You could also stay, let me take care of you.”
Now I'm gone, but you're still layin'
Next to me, one degree of separation
“What an asshole. He purposely put that on his private story so he could make sure you’d see it.” Your best friend, Ivy commented, taking your phone out of your hand and shutting it off.
You laughed, “It’s fine, Ivy. I laid in that bed in that same spot a million times. It sure as hell will take more than one girl to get the smell of me out of it.”
The girl squinted her eyes before coming to a realization, “You washed his sheets with your detergent, didn’t you?”
“You bet his sorry ass I did.” You smirked.
Ivy burst out in laughter, her hands grabbing your forearms as you started to laugh along with her, “You petty bitch.”
I heard you're back together and if that's true
You'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you
If you want forever, I bet you do
Just know you'll taste me too
“So yeah, he got back with Natalie. That’s who that girl on his story was.” Quinn commented, taking a sip of his coffee.
The two of you had started going out more often after you and Luke broke up. Well, when Luke broke up with you. He had claimed he just didn’t love you anymore, but after spending a little less than six months with him, you knew it was bullshit. So, as any sane person does, you called up his older brother and asked him to give you the real explanation. Since then, it had basically become routine for the two of you to catch up whenever he was back in Vancouver.
You nodded, “I figured, but thanks for letting me know.”
“I’m really sorry, Y/N. We told him to wait before jumping into anything, especially since he was still texting her the whole time you guys were together.” “So that ‘N’ in his phone wasn’t actually Nico? No way!” You joked, knowing that the single-letter contact couldn’t have possibly been his team’s captain.
Uh-huh
He pins you down on the carpet
Makes paintings with his tongue (La-la-la-la-la-la-la)
His hands pinned your hips down against the living room carpet, his need to eat you out far too great to even make it to the bedroom.
“Fuck, Luke.” You moaned, gripping his damp curls.
He kept licking at your clit, doing what felt like absolute magic against your core. “You taste so good, baby. Doing so good f’me.” He mumbled against you, the vibrations of his voice only adding to the pleasure.
You felt yourself getting closer to your peak, the room around you slowly disappearing as you fell into a blissful state, the only thing you were focused on was how good Luke was making you feel.
However, a consistent buzz from next to your spread legs caught your attention. Even through blurry eyes, you could see a capital ‘N’ displayed on his phone screen, disappearing as quickly as it appeared.
Before you could say anything about it, Luke took your swollen bud into his mouth, suckling harshly, distracting you completely from saying anything.
He's funny now, all his jokes hit different
Guess who he learned that from?
Jack and Quinn had become irritated at their brother and his girlfriend’s laughter coming from the pool room.
“I might just be bitter, but her laugh is stupidly annoying. I like Y/N’s. Hers sounds less annoying.” Jack said to Quinn, staring from the porch into the room.
“Luke’s not even that fucking funny. All the jokes he’s telling her are jokes Y/N said to him. He could at least try to be original.” Quinn agreed.
Now I'm gone, but you're still layin'
Next to me, one degree of separation
Luke laid in his bed, waiting for Natalie to finish taking off her makeup at the desk across from him. He rolled over into the space where she now had claimed, his nostrils taking in a familiar vanilla scent.
“Nat? Did you use a new hair product or something?” He questioned, sniffing the sheets more aggressively.
Natalie made a face, “What? No, I haven’t.”
I heard you're back together and if that's true
You'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you
If you want forever, and I bet you do (I bet you do)
Just know you'll taste me too
“Stop doing that.” Luke whispered against her lips.
Natalie groaned, “Doing what?”
He pulled away, wanting to get a better look at her face, “Tugging on my hair. I don’t like it.” “She did it all the time, Lu. I saw it.”
Luke knew exactly what she was talking about. The only person he had let tug on his hair during a make-out or during sex was you. It didn’t feel good when anyone else did it, not even his girlfriend.
“Whatever. Just don’t do it.”
La-la-la-la-la-la-la
“Maybe we need to cut you off.” Ivy said, pulling the shot of vodka from your hand before you could take it.
You snorted, “Nah, I’m fine.”
To everyone, it was obvious you were not fine. Emotionally, sure. But sobriety-wise? Not at all.
Ivy gave you a look of concern, “So this drinking spree you’ve been on tonight doesn’t have anything to do with Luke?”
“Nope.”
Every time you close your eyes and feel his lips, you're feelin' mine
And every time you breathe his air, just know I was already there
Luke peered up at you as you pulled your hair back, “Already? Thought you’d want to kiss a little first.”
You rolled your eyes, “Shut up. I just don’t want my hair to keep getting stuck on my lip gloss. It’s getting annoying.” He simply laughed and pulled you back in, pressing his lips to yours yet again, savouring the taste of your cherry lip gloss as he took your bottom lip into his mouth. He felt as if he didn’t even need oxygen anymore, only you, on his lap, your lips against his.
After a few more kisses, you pulled away to catch your breath, Luke’s hand on the back of your head keeping you close to the point where you were practically breathing against his mouth.
You can have him if you like, I've been there, done that once or twice
And singin' 'bout it don't mean I care, yeah, I know I've been known to share
Well, I heard you're back together and if that's true
You'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you
“Oh please! It’s clear that you’re still into him, you crazy bitch!” Natalie yelled, getting the attention of a few people in the arena parking lot.
You scoffed, “I’m not. The only reason I’m here is because of Jack, not Luke.”
“Yeah, right. You know you can say you don’t want him anymore, but it was clear at that karaoke bar that you’re still hung up on him!”
“Holy shit, how many times do I have to say it? The only reason I sang that song was because it’s a good fucking song! If I wanted him back, I could get him back.”
Natalie wasn’t even able to get a word out before you continued speaking.
“Who do you think taught him those jokes you laugh at? Who do you think taught him how to eat pussy like a real man instead of a little bitch?”
She listened closely to your words. Now it made sense to her why he had gotten better at eating her out after he was with you. You noticed the realization on her face and you felt a slight twinge of guilt in your stomach for exposing Luke like that, especially in a public setting. Unfortunately for him, your patience had already run thin, so you couldn’t stop yourself there.
“I don’t care how many times you kiss him. Or how many times you fuck him. The only reason he knows what to do is because of me. And no matter how hard you try to make him forget, he won’t.” You snapped, turning on your heels before she could even inhale.
If you want forever, and I bet you do (I bet you do)
Just know you'll taste me too (Taste me too)
For the next few weeks, your words lingered in Natalie’s mind. You were right, and she knew it. The way he gripped the sheets a little tighter before she laid down, the way he all of a sudden didn’t like his hair pulled.
She thought she wanted to marry this man, to have a family with him. But she knew you were right, Luke would never be the same after you.
And Luke knew that too.
La-la-la-la-la-la-la
You'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you, no
(La-la-la-la-la-la-la) Yeah, ah-ah
You'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you
“All I heard was her telling him to get over you before she stormed out the house.” Jack explained, hopping into the passenger seat of your car. You were driving him to the airport since he was heading to Chicago for his surgery.
You hummed, “I didn’t mean to make her feel bad, but she called me a crazy bitch. Like it’s my fault he hasn’t moved on.”
Jack laughed at your words, “That’s true. I don’t get it though, he broke up with you, didn’t he?”
“Yeah. I don’t know, I guess I’m just that amazing that I linger wherever I’ve been.” You joked.
“Like a taste in his mouth, he can’t get rid of?”
Your eyes widened slightly at Jack’s shockingly accurate analogy, “Exactly.”

Scary Movies and Stu
Tumblr media
Characters: Stu Macher, Reader (You)
Trigger Warnings: Mild mentions of horror movie violence, slight teasing about fear
Masterlist
Words: 890
Author’s Note:
This fanfiction features a cozy, playful night in with Stu Macher, where the two of you watch scary movies together. It’s lighthearted with some romantic moments and a bit of teasing. Enjoy!
---
It was late on a chilly October evening when you found yourself curled up on Stu Macher’s couch, the glow of the TV casting flickering shadows across the dim living room. Halloween decorations littered the space—fake cobwebs, plastic skeletons, and a few jack-o’-lanterns grinning from the windowsill.
“You ready for some real horror?” Stu asked, his signature mischievous grin spreading across his face. He sat beside you, one arm draped lazily over the back of the couch.
You gave him a wary glance. “Depends. Are we talking fun horror or traumatizing horror?”
Stu let out a dramatic laugh. “Come on, babe! What’s the fun in scary movies if they don’t make you scream?” He popped open a bag of popcorn, tossing a handful into his mouth. “Trust me, this one’s a classic.”
You shot him a playful glare. "Yeah, well, I don’t like jumping out of my skin every five minutes."
Stu leaned closer, bumping his shoulder against yours. “That’s the whole point, babe! It’s not scary if you know what’s coming.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the smile tugging at your lips. There was something infectious about Stu’s enthusiasm, even if his taste in movies was… questionable at best. He always had that boyish energy—like he was constantly in on some joke only he knew. It made him frustrating, sure, but also kind of irresistible.
Stu picked up the remote and pressed play, the familiar intro music of Halloween filling the room.
“Oh, great,” you muttered. “The one with the creepy guy in the mask.”
Stu gave you a sly grin. “You mean Michael Myers? The OG slasher? Come on, babe, you gotta give it a chance!”
You sighed, nestling deeper into the cushions as the opening scenes began to play. Stu adjusted himself, shifting closer to you until his leg pressed against yours. His arm, still draped over the back of the couch, slipped down to rest across your shoulders.
“You’re not scared already, are you?” he teased, his voice dropping into a playful whisper.
“No,” you said, though the way you clutched the edge of the blanket betrayed your nerves.
Stu noticed, of course. He always did.
“Aw, don’t worry,” he said with a grin. “I’ll protect you.”
You gave him a skeptical look. “From a fictional serial killer?”
“Damn right,” Stu said with mock seriousness. “If Michael Myers comes through that door, I’ll take him down myself.”
You laughed despite yourself, the sound soft and warm in the dim room. Stu smiled, clearly pleased to have gotten that reaction from you.
The movie rolled on, and soon enough, the tension in the scenes started to build. You tried your best to stay calm, but every jump scare had your heart racing a little faster.
“Jeez, babe,” Stu said after one particularly loud scare made you flinch. “You’re wound up tighter than a spring.”
“Shut up,” you muttered, embarrassed. “It’s the music! It’s creepy.”
Stu chuckled, squeezing your shoulder gently. “Want me to cover your eyes?”
“No!” you protested quickly. “I can handle it.”
Stu gave you a knowing look, clearly enjoying your discomfort. But instead of teasing you further, he pulled you closer against him, his arm wrapping around you protectively.
“There,” he said. “Now you’ve got Stu Security. No masked killers getting through me.”
You rolled your eyes again but leaned into him, grateful for the warmth and the comfort of his presence.
The movie continued, and you found yourself relaxing bit by bit. With Stu beside you—his goofy comments breaking the tension—you felt safe, even when the music swelled and the on-screen terror reached its peak.
At one point, he leaned down, his breath warm against your ear. “Babe, if we were in a horror movie, you’d totally be the Final Girl.”
You snorted. “Right. The slow one who trips over everything?”
Stu grinned, unfazed by your sarcasm. “Nah. The badass who outsmarts everyone and makes it out alive. And you know what?”
“What?”
“If anyone tried to mess with you,” he whispered, his tone playful but with just the faintest edge of something more serious, “I’d make sure they regretted it.”
You looked up at him, the flickering TV light catching the mischief in his eyes, and for a moment, the playful banter fell away. There was something genuine in his words, something that made your heart squeeze just a little.
“Thanks, Stu,” you said softly.
He smirked, and before you could say anything else, he leaned in and pressed a quick, unexpected kiss to your temple.
Your heart skipped a beat.
“See?” he said with a grin, his voice light again. “Told you I’d keep you safe.”
You tried to play it cool, but your cheeks were warm, and the way Stu smiled told you he knew exactly what effect he had on you.
The movie ended eventually, but neither of you moved. You stayed curled up against him, his arm still draped around your shoulders, the warmth of his kiss lingering on your skin.
“Wanna watch another one?” Stu asked, his voice low and content.
You smiled, feeling safe and warm despite the spooky night outside.
“Only if you promise not to make fun of me.”
“No promises,” he said with a laugh, but his arm tightened around you just a little more.
And for once, you didn’t mind.
---
Author’s Note:
Thank you for reading! Stu Macher is such a chaotic and fun character, and I wanted to capture that playful side of him while also showing how he can be protective in his own weird way. I hope you enjoyed this cozy moment with him!

How about y/n goes on the boat for the first time and she’s really scared, but Jack isn’t really paying attention to her so she does the same thing like the closet idea but instead she like hides under her blankie.
Jack had been counting down the days until this boat trip. The sun was shining, the water was calm, and for once, there was no hockey—just a day to kick back and relax with his friends.
No practices, no media, no pressure. Just the open water and good company. His daughter Y/N, was bundled up in her favorite pink life jacket, gripping her stuffed bunny like her life depended on it.
But Y/N wasn’t excited. She was scared.
The second Jack stepped onto the boat, Y/N’s tiny hands clung to his leg. The boat rocked slightly, and she let out a small whimper, burying her face into his shorts.
You're okay, sweetheart," Jack said absentmindedly, ruffling her hair before turning back to the guys.
Y/N wasn’t convinced. The boat was wobbly. The water was big. And everyone was laughing and talking so loud. She tugged on Jack’s shirt once, twice, but he barely glanced down, too busy setting up the wake board
So Y/N did what any scared little girl would do. She grabbed her blankie, plopped down in the corner of the boat, and pulled it over her head.
Underneath the soft fabric, she felt safe. No big scary waves. No loud noises. Just her and bunny.
It wasn’t until Quinn nudged Jack and pointed at the tiny lump under the blanket that he realized she had disappeared.
"Y/N?" Jack crouched down, gently lifting the blanket. Her big teary eyes peeked out.
"Don't like boat," she mumbled, gripping his hand.
Jack’s heart sank. Scooping her up, he sat down with her in his lap, wrapping the blanket around both of them.
"Okay, bug. No boat next time," he whispered. "But I'm right here, promise."
And with Jack’s arms around her, Y/N finally felt safe enough to peek at the waves.

shadow characteristics of seventeen 🌘:
vcu version I ppu version I hhu version
scoups: gentle
when i first got bermuda triangle-d into the diamond life, i wasn't on social media. so it was a huge shock to me that people considered scoups as strict alpha leader, where as all i saw was a man who was so so gentle. his love may be loud but all his actions are soft and reassuring. the way he gently accepts everyone's opinion and tries to guides them back on track is amazing 😭 he treats the people he loves with all the tenderness and warmth he has to give. so while he is everyone's scary leader, to me he is a gentle soul.
wonwoo: hilarious
wonwoo is actually one of the funniest member for me. his sense of humour is mischievous, punny, and witty. from adding egging on svt members to fight each other to making witty commentaries from the side, he does it all folks! the jokes he makes are pretty easy to miss since he is a naturally quiet person but if you pay attention, you will find yourself clutching your stomach bc you are laughing too hard. his wit is lightning quick but one blink and you will miss it .
mingyu: hard worker
kim mingyu is a proud, proud man 🔥 he is proud of himself and his team. and behind this proudness lies his belief on the skills of every svt members. and even behind that is the countless hours he spent on honing those skills. we all joke about mingyu being the jack of all trades or being the only thing svt needs in a deserted island/ the apocalpyse. but mingyu worked hard to be that person! he spends hours being the person that everyone can depend on. and he has every right to be proud of that. everyday mingyu inspires me to try just a bit harder so that i can be proud of myself too ❤️
vernon: colourful
vernon is such a laidback chill guy, i think most people forget that he is one of the members with the highest credits as a lyricist. his mindset and world view is so colourful and vibrant that he sees the world as it is (a realist) but tries to change it to what it should be (an idealist) in his own way. truly a juxtaposition of a man and i love him all the more for it. he sees the potential in everything to be better than it is. this attitude of him helps him be who he is loudly and steadily. everyday he tries to be an artist. and, you ask, who the canvas of that art is? himself ✨

say whatever you feel,
be wherever you are
Tumblr media
Word Count - 3k roughly
Author's Note - I felt this need to write some Jack fluff since I'm been writing a lot of Jack being a complete idiot asshole lately. Thank you always for reading
Warnings - I truly can't think any
Summary - Y/N was a very social butterfly, she was blunt and witty. Not a single person that knows her would describe her as shy. But when it came to her expressing her emotions, she was definitely more reserved. Or three times Jack shows her that it isn't scary to show how happy he is, and the one time she shows him her own happiness.
Masterlist
Growing up you were never one of those people that felt as if they could show the world their every thought on their face. Maybe it was your personality in general or how you grew up, but you never showed how you felt to the entire world around you.Some people would describe you as shy for this, but you weren’t shy you were in fact a very blunt, witty person. It’s just for whatever reason you never let anyone know how a situation unfolding in front of you made you feel. It’s almost like you were always watching everyone else somehow seeing how they were responding and then reacting. Especially when it came to showing pure happiness, this feeling of carefree happiness and being lost in the moment of it. That entire idea was foreign to you.
Jack didn’t mind that you were closed off in showing your feelings to the world. He knew that you kept that part of yourself hidden from the world. A part of him actually found it like a small victory when he was able to have you act dumb with him even if it was within the private walls of your apartment. Jack wasn’t as dumb when it came to emotions as people in the media viewed him. Everyone thought of him as someone who was just a cocky little asshole who was nothing more than a hot head on and off the ice. But that was furthest from the truth, Jack was the first boy that showed you that the little moments in life could truly be some of your happiest fondest moments. Jack learned from you that sometimes not displaying all of your cards was actually better because when you were completely emotionally raw with someone it meant so much more. Jack knew you loved him with everything you had, and he loved that he was one of the only people on Earth to truly witness you being your truly carefree self. He loved how through each time you joined him in being completely carefree and happy. He felt like he was able to learn this whole new side to you even though you’ve been dating for months at this point. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It doesn’t matter where we are I’m happy with you:
Jack loved spending time with you, he actually was obsessed with spending every available second you both had free together. But due to the roadies schedule this year being insane he was about to go away for almost two weeks exactly. Since you guys started talking three months ago you haven’t spent that much time apart. The only problem was that you had a list of probably 10 ‘absolutely can’t procaste anything or my life will actually fall apart errands’ that had to get done today before your work week started tomorrow. But Jack left tomorrow morning and wouldn’t be back for two weeks.
Jack knew that if you weren’t able to do your errands that you would probably spiral all week due to feeling behind. He also knew even though you would never admit it out loud, that you were already having anxiety about how attached Jacks’ presence you were already and how hard this first roadie would be. Thus how he came up with what he felt was his most brilliant idea in months. Luke and Quinn didn’t agree in the groupchat and called him a simp and asked how Jack became whipped so badly and quickly. Jack decided to ignore his brother’s and facetime with you to tell you his idea. You answered immediately even though you were in the middle of making sure you didn’t forget anything before leaving your place to hop in your car.
“Hi bubs, what's up? I’m in the middle of something right now.” Jack can hear the anxiety rising in your voice and can hear you being distant on the phone due to it.
“Hi baby… I have an idea.'' It's hard for Jack to hide the excitement in his voice. His smile drops a little as he hears you sigh deeply, knowing that you're probably snatching your voice a little annoyed.
“Jack, I told you I need to get all these errands done so that I’m ready for next week. Which I would have already done if you hadn’t spent the last 3 days at my place insisting we don’t need to leave the bedroom except for snacks and gatorade.” Jack can hear you continue to shuffle around in the background, probably slipping on some shoes and throwing a jacket on.
“Yes.. which was fun but we don’t need to talk about that. Anyway, that’s actually why I’m calling you, let's have a car date.” you can practically hear the smile you know is radiating off his face right now announcing his idea to you.
“A car date?” you shyly ask.
“Yes, a car date. We can get fast food, blast the best music, and I can drive you around and we will complete all your errands. But we also get to spend time together.” Jak rumbles off his plan and you can tell that he isn’t as confident as he once was.
“okay.” you say shyly smiling at the idea.
“Perfect. Pick you up in 10.” he rushes out as he hangs up.
That Sunday you spend eating way too much snacks from gas stations, fast food and having your own little karotake sessions. As Jack drives you around town one hand on the wheel the other switching between your thigh and hand. He can’t help the warm feeling in his chest as he leans over and sees a small smile on your face.
“It doesn’t matter what we're doing, I’m happy when I’m with you.” he breaths out, and you can’t help but turn back to him as you let his words sink in. Jack knew that you probably wouldn’t respond. But when he felt you give his hand a squeeze he brought it up to his mouth to give it a soft kiss. Neither of you say anything else about it, moving on to scream singing to the next song that belts out from the speakers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am happiest when your attention is on me:
Jack and you were on an impromptu date night in Manhattan, deciding that it would be nice to go to the city for the night. As you are leaving the restaurant knowing that the night is coming to an end but not wanting it to. Jack offers to go on a walk for a little bit and maybe find some dessert. Spending time walking hand in hand, you couldn’t help but have a small smile on your face. But then you felt the never ending buzz of your phone knowing that someone was obviously trying to get in contact with you. Reductively, you reach into your back pocket to grab your phone, finding about fifthteen texts in the last 3 minutes from your cousin. Apparently, she was freaking out about something that happened in the family groupchat. Naturally, you slowed your walking pace to try and read all the messages. At first Jack was fine with you being a little distracting but then when you completely stopped walking. But once you got distracted and stopped walking completely Jack tried his hardest to be patient. But Jack isn’t really known for being the most patient guy or being good at staying still for long. “Who’s on the phone baby?” at the sound of his voice, you glance up.
“Oh it’s my cousin they’re telling me about what happened the family groupchat.” Once you see Jack nod, you return your attention to your phone. After a few more minutes Jack’s done waiting and wants to continue their walk.Due to his quick reflexes he quickly picks you up, throwing you over his shoulder and grabbing your phone in the process.
Immediately you start laughing, hitting his back. In the most demanding voice you can muster in the middle of your laughing fit you scream. “JACK let me down! Give me back my phone!” He knew you weren’t mad at him so he decided to push the limit with how far he could go with this as he started walking down the sidewalk.
“Nope, not till I’m done texting them telling them that you're busy with your amazing hot boyfriend. And that your boyfriend demands your attention because another minute longer he might cry.” Jack shifts your weight slightly and you can tell that he really is typing on your phone.
“Jack stop! I’ll give you my full attention, I promise.” as you continue to laugh while you hear Jack hum in agreement.
“Okay sent. Now I can let you down.” You can feel Jack’s arms tighten as he lightly lets you down, both of your breathing speeding up due to how close your faces are when your feet finally touch the ground.
“You said you're always happy with me.” you mumbled.
“I am but I’m only happiest when I have your attention.” he whispers, his eyes flicking between lips and your eyes. As if he was asking if he could kiss you in the moment, you slowly snake your arms around his neck and reach up to kiss him softly.
As you pull away you can’t help your smartass response “you're such an attention whore Jackey. But I love you for it.” As you stay in his embrace a little longer, completely forgetting about your cousin and whatever family drama it was. Simply just allowing yourself to be lost in this moment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am happy with you because when I’m with I can block everything out:
Jack truly wasn’t afraid of his mind being quick witted, being loud or being too sarcastic. He wasn’t someone who was known for being shy about his personality. Especially when  he would go out with you somewhere and it would be like his body transformed into someone new. Someone who wasn’t afraid to scream at the top of their lungs just how happy they were that you were his and he was yours. Someone who truly felt happiest with you in their arms,
Tonight was no different for Jack at the lakehouse. He was so happy that you were able to get a long weekend off and come visit him in Michigan. As per usual for the summer house, there were people everywhere, From Luke’s old Michigan teammates, to some of Quinn’s teammates, to friends they grew up with on the lake, to Jack’s friends from when he played on the USA Hockey team. If Jack had to guess there were probably about thirty people right now inside his house  or outside at the bonfire. After spending the day with friends he was able to retreat to a lawn chair close enough to the fire to feel the warmth but far away enough that it's not insanely loud. Jack and you weren’t able to spend much of the party together sadly, due to the girlfriends of the boys pulling you away. It was nice to be welcomed but you were definitely missing Jack after having to meet so many people, you were feeling your social battery dying. As you exited the house, looking for Jack you were thrilled to see Jack not surrounded by people and just talking to Cole in some lawn chairs closer to the lake.
Quickly you felt yourself heading towards your boyfriend, very much just wanting to be in his arms away from everyone else. He quickly caught your eyes as you walked up and you could feel yourself blush as his smile grew seeing you. “Hi baby!” Once you were in arms reach, making grabby hands at you pulling yourself down into his lap. Your back was leaning against one of the arm rests of the chair. One leg between Jack’s legs, the other swinging over the other arm rest. Your arms quickly circling around Jack’s neck trying to pull him closer to you. Usually you don’t show this level of PDA in front of people you don’t know and you literally met Cole four hours prior to this. Jack tightened his arms around you, nervous something was wrong. “Heyy babyy.. you okay?” he whispers as your face digs deeper into his neck. You shook your head yes and Jack took that as an answer, and continued to talk to Cole. Lightly rubbing your one his hands up and down your calf that was hanging over the chair. His other tightly holding your hip to make sure you won’t fall. His thumb under your hoodie slowly creases the top of your hip. He continued talking to Cole like nothing happened and Cole knew Jack well enough to know not to chirp either of you in the moment or he would have to look for a new place to sleep tonight.
After a while Cole mentioned something about needing a refill and made his way back to the rest of the party. Jack knew that when you were ready to rejoin the world and be ready to talk to him you would. In the meantime he watched drunk people dancing to some soft country music softly singing along only loud enough for you to hear. You lightly smiled as you whispered “your lucky you didn’t go into the music industry because you are way off tone Jackey.” as you slowly move your head from his neck to his chest.
“What I’m offended! I am a great singer.” you could hear the sarcasm clear as day on his voice. It still didn’t stop your small laugh as one of your hands went to play with the stings of his hoodie. He couldn’t help but ask if you were okay again though “did something happen or are you just tired pretty girl?” His hand on your calf went to your hand that wasn’t playing with his hoodie and held your hand in your lap.
“Social battery.” you mumble sort of embarrassed that as an extraverted your social battery seemed to run out quicker than others. It didn’t slip past you that Jack’s hand gave you a squeeze as a form of comfort. “I just wanted to be held.” you let out the words before you even realize. Jack can’t help but lean down and kiss your forehead, knowing that you wanted to change the subject and he let you. After a half hour you can’t help but feel Jack’s head shake to the rhythm of the music. “You want to dance don’t you?” but Jack could tell by your voice that you weren’t feeling up to being around so many drunk people who were too drunk to know personal space boundaries.
“We don’t have to baby, it’s okay.” He says making eye contact with you so you know how serious he’s being.
“No it’s okay we can if you, I know how happy dancing makes you” as you start to shift to get off his lap, his hands tighten their grip on you.
“No Y/N.” As he reaches to cup your face with his hand, “I don’t want to dance. I like how happy I am right here with you, cause you block out all the noise. I am being here with you in my arms” As he leans in to kiss you deeply. “Okay?” he asks in a questioning tone making sure you understand what he’s saying.
“Okay Rowdy.” as you lean further into his embrace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can be the real you with me:
Suddenly you were back in your apartment, the season was in full swing. It was hard at times but you were slowly getting used to your apartment door becoming a revolving door due to Jack’s schedule. Jack started spending more nights at your place then his only because he said he missed being with you as much due to all the back to back roadies the Devils’ have had this month. At some point tonight Jack was supposed to come home and you physically felt your body shaking of energy at the thought. Craving something sweet you decided to make some brownies and figured that you could have them with dinner. Since you knew Jack was coming over you decided to make them gluten free so he didn’t feel terrible about eating them and breaking his diet a little.
Your text to Jack has still been left unanswered about what time he’s coming home today but you knew he was busy finishing up with the media team. As you entered the kitchen you turned on spotify and connected it to your bluetooth speaker, randomly shuffling your playlist. After washing your hands you got everything out and started making the brownies. As you were standing there making brownies listening to Revival by Zach Brynn came on. Slowly you felt yourself softly singing to the song, giggling as you remembered Jack singing this song to you all those months ago at the lakehouse. Slowly you felt your voice sing louder and as the song got louder and Zach kept singing about how he feels reborn. Slowly you started jumping and twirling around to the lyrics. You're not sure if the music is too loud or just being stuck in your own world. Next thing you know you feel arms sneak around you, and slowly move against you. At first your body froze, scared, until you felt Jack’s voice. “Hi babygirl, i missed you.” Slowly you let yourself continue to get lost in the song. Both allowing yourselves to get lost in the song and kitchen dancing. After the song slowly came to an end, you felt yourself slowly stop dancing but neither of you pulled away yet.
“Hi Jackey, welcome home” you whisper looking up at him, as the next song slowly starts playing in the background.
“Hey” he softly mumbles as he leans down and softly kisses your lips, no rush at all for anything more just pure love in the moment.
“I’m surprised you didn’t stop dancing when I came up behind you.” he admits softly.
You shrug your shoulders “I don’t know, I guess I can be my real self around you, I’m not scared of showing you my emotions.” As you hear yourself admit this out loud you realize just how big of a deal this really is not only for yourself ,but  for Jack and your relationship.
“God I love you, but I really love when you let yourself be happy baby.” he admits, dipping his head down to steal another kiss.
Pilot Kelson smut
(i haven’t seen any stories about pilot which is crazyyyy cause he was so fine in this movie!! so i made one.)
- pilot kelson played by jake gyllenhaal in Highway, 2002
- i tried to make it like the movie as much as i could so please don’t mind the cringy parts 😭
- contents: cheating, sex obviously, unprotected sex, caught. (idk😭)
- gif made by me 😊
• you and pilot have been besties since elementary but ever since he got with lucy you guys haven’t been close as usually.
you sigh as you look at the time. “you just clocked in” your coworker told you while laughing. “i know and i already wanna go” you said tiredly. u hated your job but the money was worth it. new costumers walked in and you grabbed your notebook and lazily went over to greet them. you knew this was gonna be a long day.
some hours in you hear the work phone ringing and decided to answer. “hey welcome to burger den, what can i get for you” you said politely. “um, well actually this is gonna sound weird but i’m actually calling to see if this girl works there that goes by y/n”
you waited awhile until you answered. “yea you’re talking to her, who is this?” you questioned. “it’s pilot i know we haven’t hung out in awhile but i was wondering if we could catch up maybe after work” he said. you were happy to hear from him again and wanted to see him as badly as he did.
“i wish but i work late hours today pilot, i’m going straight to bed after i get off” you told him. “then i’ll come see you during work, duh” he said with a chuckle. “wouldn’t lucy have a fit?” you said sarcastically. you didn’t like her one bit. “lucy doesn’t have to know anything, plus it’s not like we’re doing anything.” he said.
“fine, see you soon” you told him while hanging up quickly to get back to work. soon later you see 2 people walk in. it was a girl that had a bikini for a top with a long brown coat and bell bottom jeans, next to her you see your friend jack. you went over and hugged him.
“ms. untouchable” jack said while hugging you. “and the god of fuck” you told him. “you know it” he said. “how long has it been, like 5 years?” you asked. “gold star y/n!” he said while touching your forehead. “and who’s this?” you asked jack. “this is our friend cassie, cassie this is my childhood friend y/n” he introduced you both.
“the god of what now?” cassie asked “of fuc-“ you began. “it’s a long story that’ll i’ll tell you about later” jack stuttered as he covered your mouth. “ohh you haven’t told her yet?” you said as you moved his hand. -you’re not helping- jack mouthed to you. -my bad- you mouthed back.
“noted but you’re very beautiful” the girl told you. you paused as you didn’t take compliments well. “thanks, you’re gorgeous as well” you told her while blushing. “okay can we quit the flirting lesbians?” you heard someone say. you turned to find the spiked haired friend you’ve been missing since forever.
“pi!” you said while going in for a big hug. he looked nice with his button up collared shirt with some brown jeans and this dumb loud ass colored visor. “damn how long has it been” you asked. “too long, i missed you a lot” he confessed. “i did too” you said as well. it was your break anyways so you went and got food for you both.
“damn she starving you?” you questioned as pilot was eating like there was no tomorrow. “maybe” he chuckled. you both talked until you finished eating. “that was good” he said as he rubbed his belly “yea i can tell” you giggled. “wanna-“ he began. “wanna what?” you questioned “wanna smoke like we use to do back then?”
you gave pilot a blank stare. “pilot i am at work if i come my high ass back in here i’m not gonna wanna do shit” you told him. “man cmon what happen to the old y/n? you scary now?” he teased you. “never” you said as you got up and pulled him along with you. “y/n, where you going? your break ends in like 5” your co worker whispered to you. “just tell the manager i’m shitting or something”
you said while walking out. “shitting?” pilot said while laughing. “yea he’s a pain in my ass anyways.” you responded. he then lead you to the car and started lighting up. after sometime of passing it back and forth it started to kick in. “you know i really missed you and im sorry for cutting you off with no explanation” he confessed.
“yea, you’re still a dickhead for that” you said. “i know but lucy made me do it and i didn’t wanna make her feel any type of way” he said. “it must be good then” you joked. “tbh it’s not, she doesn’t satisfy me at all” he said. “then why u still with her?” you asked “cause i don’t wanna be mean yk”
that’s what you admired about pilot even though he was cheater and a liar he was always nice and caring no matter what. “and no matter how many girls i find to fill in that void i never succeed” he confessed “damn must suck” you told him. “yea, can i be honest” he asked “sure” you said.  you remember that time when we macked?”
he asked. “yes pilot” you said while rolling your eyes. “what?, don’t act like you weren’t into it” he laughed. “i don’t know what you’re talking about pi” you joked with him. “you sure? cause i remember you saying how you couldn’t wait to feel me in you“ he said while staring into your eyes. “what does this have to do with anything?” you questioned as you broke eye contact.
“seriously tho, you were the only girl i felt something with y/n” he told you. “same” you told him. you hated how good pilot made you feel but it’s wrong for him to treat lucy like that even if you didn’t like her. “but enough about me what about you?” he asked putting the attention on you. “what about me?” you repeated “yea, you still haven’t been touched?” he joked.
“yea” you answered. “damn, life without dick” he said while turning his head to you. you both started bursting out laughing. you took a moment back to think how you really missed pilot. you were admiring him for awhile and started seeing how good he looked. you tried to shoo off these feelings blaming it on the weed.
you didn’t realize that pilot was doing the same as your faces just inches apart. you then kissed him but regretted it shortly after. “shit, i’m sorry” you apologized. pilot grabbed your face going in for another which caught you off guard.
while still making out, pilot pulled you ontop of him cranking the seat back. you started to feel him grow under you. “pilot this is wrong” you said in between kisses. “you sure? cause you seem to be enjoying yourself” he told you as he took one hand under your dress to feel your wet panties.
you moaned at his touch as you felt embarrassed at how wet he made you. “pi, what about lucy” you whined. “she doesn’t have to know” he whispered to you. these words made you wetter as you loved the thrill of doings things you weren’t supposed to. he then stuck his hands in your panties and rubbed around your clit.
you tried to hold back your moans but pilot noticed and began rubbing your clit. “fuck-“ you moaned at the sudden wave of pleasure. “you like that” pilot whispered into your ear. you didn’t want pilot to know how much power he had over you so u didn’t respond. he then inserted 2 fingers into you without warning.
you let out a loud moan as you felt him already touching your gspot. “what about now” he asked again. you were still stubborn and wouldn’t say a word no matter what. he then began to go faster and faster making you closer to reaching your high. “not yet y/n, pi needs a little something too” he said as he took his fingers out.
you then got on your knees perfectly fitting under the steering wheel while watching pilot slowly unzip his pants. you grew impatient as you finished it for him, pulling down his boxers as-well. you palmed him slowly hearing his breathe become shaky.
you looked into his needy eyes as he watched your every movement. you then took him in your mouth without warning. “shit” pilot groaned at the sudden pleasure. you started to bob your head up and down while stroking him at the same time. “damn, slow down” pilot stuttered out.
you went even faster driving pilot closer and closer to his high. “fuckkkk” pilot drug out as he grabbed onto your hair realizing himself into your throat. you swallowed making sure not to miss a single drop. “lucy never made you do that?” you teased him. “never” he breathed out heavy.
you got back into your seat and pilot jumped to the back. you stared at him blankly. “what?” he asked cluelessly. “you’re not getting none” you told him. “so you think you can make me bust a nut like that and get nothing in return? yea you’re crazy” he said as he pulled you to the back with him.
he sat you perfectly on top of him slowly moving you back and forth seducing you. you couldn’t help but move your hips making yourself crave for him even more. “i promise you won’t regret it” he said into your ear. pilot knew exactly what he was doing and it worked. you slid your panties to the side exposing your soaking wet pussy grinding so slowly onto him.
“want me to fuck you?” pilot asked while looking into your eyes. you turned away not answering. “hm?” pilot said while teasing your entrance with his tip. “no-“ you moaned “your pussy is telling me otherwise” pi whispered to you. you couldn’t keep the act up anymore so you gave in.
“just fuck me” you whined. with this he slowly slid himself into you as you took him all. “mm yess” you moaned as he felt so good inside of you. “bounce that shit” he said and you did as you were told. the car was now filled with the sound of skin slapping against eachother. “just like that pretty”
pilot moaned loudly. this turned you on even more as you went harder. pilot threw his head back biting his lip trying not to be a moaning mess. “your dick feels so good” you praised him. this drove him crazy and at this point the car began to bounce. you felt him harden up in you and you slowed down.
“don’t be a tease y/n” pilot groaned as he slapped your butt. you hissed at the pain but it felt so good mixed with the pleasure. you started bouncing again driving pilot closer to cumming. you then got off and bent over wanting him to fuck you crazy.
“please pilot? drive me crazy” you said seducing him. pilot was frustrated that you gave him blue balls so he slid into you without warning. “wait” you screamed as he pounded so deep into you hitting your cervix each time. “take it” he groaned. you were such a moaning mess.
“harderrr” you screamed. with this pilot put your head into the seat fucking you senseless. “never knew you were such a slut y/n” pilot laughed breathlessly. you both were sweating like pigs and pilot loved it. “you still untouchable baby?” pilot asked you. not a single sound came out of your mouth.
you were too dick filled. pilot then pulled you by your hair making your back touch his chest. “i said are you still untouchable?” he moaned into your ear “nooo” you screamed as you were getting so close. “louder baby” he grunted. “fuckkk” you moaned out releasing all over pilot.
pilot kept going sending you into overdrive. you threw your hand back, pushing him off but he grabbed your arm slamming it on your back. “its too much” you cried out. pilot didn’t care, he kept pounding until he grew sloppy releasing all over your back but before you two could even get up someone knocked on the window.
you both looked up in unison covering your bodies. “a little privacy jack” pilot told him “shit, sorry pi” jack said while turning around giving you both time clean up and get dressed. after you finished you got back into the passenger seat and jack and cassie got into the car. it was an awkward silence that fell onto the four of you.
“so” cassie started. “untouchable” jack said under his breath. pilot and cassie bursted out laughing as you grew embarrassed. “haha very funny” you rolled your eyes. “my bad ms. UNtouchable” pilot said while poking your arm. “shutup and drive” you told him while giggling.
cue shutup and drive by rihanna- 😎
(i feel like that is such his song)
hope you all liked this !!!!!
Dog breeds I think the TKDB cast would adopt and why
Just so you know I’m making it a rule that labs and golden retrievers aren’t allowed because they’re basic and would apply to too many characters
Jin Kamurai: Japanese Chin. Come on, he’s the king of Frostheim and the Japanese Chin was a dog breed associated with royalty in Japan.
Tohma Ishibashi: I can’t explain why, but he reminds me of a Borzoi. It WAS between this or a grayhound, but a friend suggested a smooth collie and I think that’s better for Tohma mentally.
Lucas Errant: I’m gonna say the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They’re known for being gentle and sweet in appearance and nature, they get along well with other animals, but are also active and sporty without being hyper. Very fitting for Luca 🥰. If anyone tries to say “he’s British give him a corgi” I’m just gonna say that’s low hanging fruit and you know what, shame on you for that. A pox on your family /jk
Kaito Fuji: Ok hear me out: He’d go to a shelter or an adoption agency looking for a large, cool dog that could impress girls and make him look tough. But what he actually leaves with is a Pomeranian 💀 it’s gonna be the most spoiled Pomeranian too.
Alan Mido: St. Bernard 100%. These dogs are large and strong, being bred for rescue work by the hospice of The Great St. Bernard Pass. Large, strong, but very sweet? Who does that sound like?
Shohei Haizono: A French Bulldog for no other reason other than it makes me think of that one animated short with the French Bulldog that was always eating the food his owner offered and was a picky eater.
Leo Kurosagi: I want to say a pug, but honestly? Pugs shouldn’t exist, they’re bred to suffer, I can’t condone that. Instead I’m giving him the only mutt on this list based off of one of my own dogs. A Jack Russel Terrier and Pug mix. First of all, they have a proper snout so they can actually breathe, second of all, I have a dog that’s the same mix and she’s the most SPOILED LITTLE SHIT on this earth, but she’s a master manipulator too and runs the house. Send help she’s going to eliminate me once this is posted I’m running out of time—
Haru Sagara: A Beagle is one of my first choices. Acute sense of smell, hearing, and speed. They’re bred for hunting rabbits specifically so you know they’re fast, but there’s more to it. These fuckers are LOUD. AS. FUCK, and would alert Haru if something was wrong. But next to it? Border collie. They’re made to be farm dogs, and have high energy that could keep up with Haru
Towa Otonashi: Shitzu. Again, another breed I can’t explain, but when I think of Towa and dogs I think of a shitzu.
Ren Shiranami: Would bro even want a dog 💀 I’m gonna say a Vizslas because they don’t get along well with beagles and are far a more reserved breed personality wise.
Taiga Hoshibami: A German Shepherd. These guys are actually one of my favorite breeds bc I’m biased like that (I’ve had 3 German shepherd mixes throughout my life), and you’re probably asking “why would you give him a German shepherd when they’re commonly associated with cops and the law” and that’s because I’m sick of dog propaganda. You expected a Doberman or a Rottweiler didn’t you? Huh? Because they’re big and scary? WELL FUCK THAT THOSE ARE GOOD BOYS AND DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS SHIT ITS NOT THEY’RE FAULT THEY HAVE DARK COATS ANS WERE BRED TO BE TOUGH AND AGGRESSIVE, FUCK YOU. Also, German Shepherds are known for being loyal AND aggressive if not properly trained. Take that doggie propagandists.
Romeo Lucci: Who am I shitting, this guy would get a poodle. They’re my top favorite dog breed because they’re hyper talented: They’re scarily smart, bred for hunting, but also incredibly fashionable. I just know that if Romeo adopted a dog, he’d want one that didn’t shed too badly, will have a proper use, and is stylish to a degree. Poodles fit perfectly.
Ritsu Shinjo: I actually think he would adopt a Rottweiler. They can be aggressive, so they’d offer good protection, but they’re also one of the most intelligent dog breeds and are very loyal. Someone like Ritsu would be thinking of every scenario that he could use a dog, and I think he’d mostly want one to guard him. But a Rottweiler can offer him more than just protection, and he could use a companion like that.
Subaru Kagami: Pekingese. These things are adorable and have such king gorgeous fur that I can imagine Subaru would enjoy brushing and doting on. They’re a gentle breed as well, and I can assume that you’d want a dog breed that’s small and gentle when you’re going to be in the public eye whenever you go out.
Haku Kusanagi: A Teibetan Spaniel. They were historic companions of Buddhist monks; so I think he’d have a connection with them. They’re gentle and very easy to please, so I think Haku would vibe with them.
Zenji Kotodama: ngl I was tempted to give him an extinct dog breed for the laughs but really? He’s giving me husky vibes. Beautiful, loud, musical in a sense, and are good with other dogs if socialized from a young age.
Edward Hart: I wanted to give him something that was a good service dog for his “frail health,” but genuinely he’d leave all the actual care to Rui and I don’t want that for him. I’m giving this man a pet rock (but if we want to take this seriously, a dachshund. They’re low maintenance and prefer their owners over other people. Perfect for a recluse.)
Rui Mizuki: I don’t think he can have a dog 💀 does Lyca count? I’m gonna say Lyca counts.
Lyca Colt: Mf IS the dog
Yuri Isami: A border collie was my first choice, but honestly? That’s a horrible idea. They’re too hyper and active for Yuri, even if they’re the smartest dog breed out there. They’re too similar in the sense that they’re really smart workaholics, but in different fields. Border collies are meant for herding livestock on farms, and coop one up in a lab with a shit ton of fragile items, tools, and drugs? It’s gonna end badly. Give this man a Chihuahua it’ll match his inferiority complex and I think he’d take pride in taking good care of it. It’ll hate everyone but him though.
Jiro Kirisaki: I’m gonna say a standard poodle, kinda like Romeo except I’m giving it an actual size. While the size of Romeo’s pocket is up for interpretation, Jiro’s poodle is big to medium size. Poodles are smart enough to be trained as service dogs that could help Jiro when he’s away from Yuri, they keep the shedding to a minimum, and they’re still strong enough to be good in a fight in case Jiro is in danger.
If anyone has their own ideas, I’d like to know! If you want to make your own list, please tag me! I had fun writing this, it’s been a while since I made a fandom piece like this for…anything really.
Crps x reader who does horror podcasts
Just got done watching creep casts left right game videos and it gave me an idea for this post WOOOOO
Characters: jeff the killer, ticci toby, Laughing jack
Notes: reader is GN, established relationship, reader mostly reads stories and stuff for their podcast
CWs: horror talk, talk of canon typical violence
Tumblr media
Laughing Jack
He provides sound effects for you!
if you're reading a scary story he kind of just... pops in add to the story telling
if your podcast is purely audio he's going to be lingering around so he can just wait for the opportunity to butt in
sometimes does some voice acting for you if you ask, thrilled that you want to do something with him
actually pretty good at offering unique voices for each character though he does tend to get... very in character... like horrifyingly so, especially if the character in the story is really... not having a good time
clown logic lets him make most sounds accurately, many of your listeners think you're using a sound board or are a really really good foley artist... glass shattering, bones breaking, or something as innocent as a car honking.. its actually a little interesting to watch jack make the sound effects live because they just.. happen
Jeff
i mention somewhere that hes not much of a reader- not because hes not interested in it but because he just struggles with reading. no real reason yet but he just struggles with keeping track! listening to you read things out loud actually help a lot if you're also reading creepy stories
loooooves when you read gorier stuff, for... obvious reasons
hes not very interested in joining you on your little show, though, hes content with being a listener
a little sweet that you sometimes catch him listening to your recordings, will deny it though
if you ever talk about crime stuff and happen to talk about his murders hes definitely going to be giving you information and correcting details from the news and reports
may or may not make you look unreliable or even suspicious...
Ticci Toby
not much of a reader but thats because he just doesnt have the time or patience or desire to sit down and read something... but listening to something while doing his thing? now he can get behind that! and your storytelling is the perfect thing to listen to!
loves how deep into the storytelling you get into as well as generally just loves hearing you talk about something that obviously interests you
similarly to jacks part, if your show is only audio he may be inclined to do an episode with you! you guys switch off and take turns
oh he would 100% save funny bits from your episodes so he can go back to them
gets a little jealous if you often have guests on your show, but he tends to internalize those feelings
Which beastie boy do you think would be the least scary objectively? Some of these guys would be pretty terrifying to run into for the first time, especially since Yuu isn’t from a world of inhuman creatures.
Well, even the cute looking ones can be scary at times because of their personality, but if were going when you run into them the first time.
Vil, Rook, and Epel wouldn't be bad, I think. Vil may be intimidating in a "Oh wow he's so freaking pretty" kind of way at first but not scary. Rook is a floofy owl and prob wouldn't scare you until he gets really close and shows his excitement about meeting a human, Epel is just so cute be it birb, bull, or bunny Epel.
I don't think any of the Heartslabyul would be scary, even with Trey being a bear since despite being a dangerous predators bears are very...well...bears.
Tumblr media
Jack and Leona could be scary given their size and a grumpy face but the floof both would have, Leona's mane and Jack's... everything could really kill the intimidation factor. Ruggie wouldn't be scary at first glance unless he happens to be yawning or something.
Tumblr media
Though thinking about it a few of them are probs more intimidating when showing of the big teethies.
Peeps at the school seem scared of the twins already in their more human forms and they would prob be a bit scarier in the nonhuman AU since everyone is a lot less human-looking, so they would prob be on the scary list, probably not Azul though. Pretty colors and squish aren't scary, needle teeth can definitely be though.
Tumblr media
Can't say Kalim or Jamil would be scary at first meeting. Cute happy fluffy boy with a pretty snake dude.
Diasomnia....
Maybe Sebek at first given he's big and loud, Mal would be so pretty with his black scales, Silver is just a sleepy horsey, and Lilia is an adorable bat twink. Can't say that's very scary.
Ortho is just an adorable bee-bot boy. I think people would likely be scared of Idia at first given how so many people are scared of or at least uncomfortable with spiders...but again, the floof takes away intimidation points along with the pretty colors.
Tumblr media
The least scary at the first meeting would prob be Ortho, Lilia, Silver, Riddle, Epel, and Kalim.
Hello there, I recently became a follower and I love your writing so far, keep up the great work and I hope you’re having a wonderful day
I saw that requests are open so if it’s alright, can I get headcannons of the first years (separate) and shows/movies they’d enjoy watching with the reader?
Thought it’ll be pretty fun and an excuse for me to get recommendations lol, thank you!
Hello, Aesthetic! Thank you for your kind words! This was a bit of a challenge for Mx Tattly, since they are not a huge movie person. However she hopes you still enjoy his takes. They also wrote from the perspective of the Prefect/Yuu having access to some movies from their world of origin. Enjoy!
Movie night, otherworldly edition
Characters: Grim, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, Sebek and GN!Reader (separate)
Warnings: food mention (Epel's part)
By opening the document, you agree to Mx Tattly's terms of source confidentiality.
Tumblr media
Grim's preffered genres are: comedy, action, animation, fantasy
Grim trully is a child at heart, and all the colorful characters and scenes from animation have him hooked
He also enjoys a good laugh, especially visual gags
He barely has any attention to spare for a series, so movies are his preffered format
He would never admit it but he's a sucker for found family
Silent movie crier
Loud denier
Some favorites from your world: Home; Bolt; That one Wizard Boy Movie we Don't mention in This Household; he has a weird relationship with Ace Ventura
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ace's preffered genres are: horror, thriller, action, adventure
He enjoys gorey stuff and being the guy you hide behind of when the scenes get too much, but he needs time to prepare for psychological horror
Ace is the type to look up spoilers before watching something and he tries to trick you into believing his made up version of the plot
He talks a lot during movies but hates when others do it
While he enjoys a good adventure movie, he hates superhero movies and he thinks they're silly
He prefers movies over series because he likes the format more, but he's down for a short series
Some favorites from your world: The Mummy; Jumanji (he loves making fun of it); American Psycho; Scary Movie
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Deuce's preffered genres are: action, adventure, animation, family movies
He is pretty easy to please, he'd watch anything that is entertaining
Definitely a Marvel fan
He also loves animation movies, the animation always leaves him awestruck
He likes movies about families and their bonds
Deuce is also surprisingly into medical dramas... but also cop dramas
He is a crier as well but only when he's just with you
Some favorites from your world: Black Panther; The Rookie; A Goofy movie; Police Academy 2
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Jack's preferred genres are: documentary, adventure, romance, dramas and telenovelas with a bit of nudging
Jack is the type of guy to retain various informations after watching something
He can sometimes memorise entire scenes, and he finds that habit less annoying when he watches documentaries; he likes something informative and motivational
Jack also enjoys some romance movies sometimes, but he is very picky so it's hard for him to find one he actually likes
He does, however, like to point out and comment on the weird courting habits humans have
Jack finds telenovelas and soap operas kind of nonsensical and overly dramatic, but he also gets hooked on the plot pretty quick and soon enough it would become a bit of a guilty pleasure
Some favorites from your world: David Holmes, the boy who lived; the social dilemma; Love, Simon; Yo soy Betty la fea
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Epel's preferred genres are: comedy, action, western, anything he can mock and make fun of
If you think Ace is bad with his mid watch commentary, Epel is 10 times worse
He mocks things in movies so often he's giving Cinema Sins a run for their money
He won't shut up even if you give him all the snacks, he'll talk while eating
He also has the most colourful, boisterous, ridiculous laughter imaginable (and I say that lovingly), so if the comedy movie is not making you laugh then Epel's laughter is
Epel is not a picky watcher so he can get behind anything that isn't too sappy
If you pull out anything with Vil on the poster though he will dematerialise from your couch
Some favorites from your world: Rush Hour; Desperado; Puss in Boots 2; any Fast and Furious movie (unfortunately)
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ortho's preferred genres are: anything he finds intriguing, family movies
If anything, Ortho has a wide palate and can enjoy almost anything
He also knows how a movie ends before he watches it, but it never ruins his enjoyment
He never spoils anyone unless they try to argue with him about the direction of the plot
Most of his interest in movies came from wanting to understand human behavior better, but now he can just use them as a time killer or sleepover material
He also likes watching your reactions to the movies: how often you laugh, how often you cry, how often you reach for snacks
A favorite from your world: Big Hero 6
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Sebek's preferred genres are: historical films, (period) dramas, musicals with the right nudge
Listen here, musical enjoyers. Here is the most susceptible one to being convinced to join the dark side
One word: Hamilton.
Yes, he'll think the music is nonsensical, BUT he'll also tap his foot to it
AND if you say anything about teaching him something from the soundtrack to surprise Malleus with, he's all ears
He is also very quick to get songs stuck in his head: he's easy prey
All jokes aside, Sebek can be a good watch buddy when his interest is piqued
Not even he can deny when a movie has good plot and characters
He does prefer period dramas, since he has a soft spot for the setting
And historical films: a nerd do be nerding even during movie nights
Some favorites from your world: The Crown, Hamilton, Les Miserables, maybe Oppenheimer but it would be used in his anti-human agenda
『••✎••』
Speaking of Oppenheimer...
Well, let's discuss Barbenheimer.
Everyone went to watch both movies:
Ace went dressed in pink for the both of them
Deuce got confused by the "dresscode" and apologised to you for not knowing about it
Jack and Ortho enjoyed both
Epel insisted he liked Oppenheimer more but he's lying
Sebek cried at the end of Barbie
Grim is the only one who in fully in Oppenheimer's corner
A Meeting in London (Jack Draper) - Part 2
Sequel to "A Meeting in New York"
A Meeting in London - Part 1
First part of the series:
A Meeting in New York - Part 1
A Meeting in New York - Part 2
A Meeting in New York - Part 3
A/N: This is the second part of the sequel :) It's once again super long because I can't seem to write anything short, and I haven't even finished the sequel yet, so I think it might actually become four parts. Also, I am planning on having a bit of an open end once again, but if I do have motivation and inspiration, I might add another sequel, for which I already have some ideas mapped out but we'll see. Either way, I hope you like it and haven't gotten turned off by my writing yet.
Jen spent the rest of the day practicing, but despite being focused on her training regimen, during breaks her mind drifted off to Jack and his kisses. The way he'd kissed her on that terrace was replaying in her mind over and over. Jack was so passionate and flirtatious - something she wouldn't have guessed at first glance. But it wasn't just her mind that drifted over to him - her eyes did too. The way he moved, his laughter, the weird antics that had his team in stitches. Jen realized that she was finally getting to know him a little better, and she was conflicted about whether it would have been better to be alone with him or if it was better the way it was going to be now - a dinner with a bigger group of people where she would definitely feel less pressure to be around him. His proximity overwhelmed her. The entire situation overwhelmed her. So maybe it was a good thing after all to have less pressure on being alone together. And she could still get to know him better, but in a more relaxed setting.
Katie had definitely noticed something. To be fair, Jen wasn't exactly subtle - and neither was Jack. After their kiss on the terrace, they both couldn't keep their eyes off each other. Jack was constantly looking over to her, so much so that Paul had to shout over to him to focus on his practice, which basically everyone had heard in the entire center and elicited some laughter from the people, whereas Jack looked over to Jen shamelessly before calling over to Paul to shut up. Jack was definitely not hiding his attraction, his interest or his intentions. He was absolutely obvious and he clearly didn't care. Jen loved the fact that he was not hiding anything at all - though she wasn't used to it. The guys she had dated before were always a little emotionally either stunted or very withdrawn, and Jen had figured that this was probably why it had never worked. Because Jen herself wasn't exactly flaunting her emotions, or her attraction to people, being with someone who was just like her in that respect was exhausting. She needed someone more open than herself, someone more carefree when it came to vulnerability, and Jack was exactly that. Sure, he was professional and somewhat stoic but clearly, behind closed doors he was cheeky and flirtatious and charming and open with what he felt. It was refreshing for Jen and scary at the same time. Jack did not care a bit who saw him looking, he was definitely shooting his shot.
"Are you sure you guys have never met before?" Katie asked, breathing heavily after their afternoon practice was over and they were sitting on the bench, calming down before it was time to leave. "Y-yes?" Jen answered nervously, trying to hide her nervousness and apprehension behind her water bottle as she took a big gulp of water. "Really?" Katie wondered out loud. "Because the way you keep looking at each other... I could swear there's something more going on."
"N-no... think you must be imagining it." Jen stumbled over her words slightly, before regaining her composure. "I've never met him before."
"Hm. But you definitely think he's attractive." Katie narrowed her eyes at Jen.
"Well yeah, he is very attractive, actually." Jen tried to act nonchalant despite feeling anything but on the inside. "But that's it, really, I don't know him at all. I've met him for the first time today." Jen said as she crossed her fingers behind her back.
"Oh well then, that's good. Because he is clearly into you." Katie retorted. "I've never seen him this obvious with someone. He definitely isn't hiding anything, my God. He keeps looking over at you!" Katie sounded slightly astounded. "Seriously, he can't take his eyes off you! What have you done to him?!"
"I haven't done anything!" Jen looked sheepish. "As I said, I don't even know him."
"Well, you are so getting to know him tonight, girl - you better be ready." Katie laughed as she stood up and grabbed her things. "What are you planning?" Jen looked at her newfound friend somewhat apprehensive.
Katie just kept laughing. "Nothing too crazy, but don't worry about it - it's definitely gonna be fun."
-----------------------------------------------------
Jen was getting ready in her room, and she had no clue what to wear. It was not too fancy but not too casual either. She figured maybe a nice black short skirt, black tights and boots along with a nice top and her coat would do well, so that is what she settled for. She didn't want to overdo it, or overthink it like she always did. Instead she decided to keep things simple and just look forward to the evening. Little did she know what that would entail, but maybe she should have guessed what with Katie's meddling.
As Jen was getting ready, her phone buzzed with a text from Katie.
'You ready to see Jack?' it read with a winky face emoji. Jen rolled her eyes at Katie's antics.
'Yes, just like I am ready to see ALL THE OTHERS THERE.' she answered, making sure Katie knew exactly that Jen was onto her.
'Whatever. You know he likes you. And you like him.' Katie replied yet again with a winky face emoji. Maybe that was her go-to.
'Go away, Boulter.' Jen knew her answer was kinda lame, but it was all she got. What could she have answered to that assessment which was unfortunately more correct that Katie would ever guess?
'Never. And wear something hot.' That was Katie's final answer, it seemed. Jen huffed at Katie's impertinence and then looked at her watch.
"Shoot! I'm so running late!" she shouted and rushed into the bathroom to take a shower.
-----------------------------------------------------
Not too far away, Jack was getting slightly nervous as he was getting ready for dinner as well. Paul and Ben noticed as he was fidgeting much more than usual and completely indecisive on what to wear. "For God's sake, it's just a group dinner." Paul rolled his eyes as he watched his best friend rummage around the room, but he had a smile on face, knowing that Jack was nervous because of a girl.
"I know that." Jack huffed. "Doesn't make it better, though."
Ben laughed at his little brother as he sat on the small couch in Jack's bedroom. "I don't think I've ever seen you this nervous about a date before - a date that isn't even properly a date, mind you." Jack was still rummaging around, looking at and then throwing away various shirts in different colors. "What are you going to do once you go on an acutal date? Order a whole new closet?"
"Ha. Funny." Jack huffed again. "What do you think of this one?" he asked as he held up a black button down.
Paul and Ben nodded approvingly. "Yeah, simple but not overly simple." Ben said and Jack looked relieved before sighing heavily. "I don't know what's going on with me. I mean, it's just a fucking group dinner, yet I feel like I'm walking to my own wedding day or something - I'm so fucking nervous." Jack shook his head as she sat down on his bed next to Paul.
"You're just really into her, it's normal." Ben said, his face softening as he watched his brother who was obviously completely out of sorts. "Look, you've said as much - you're interested, you want to get to know her. It's normal to be nervous, even if it's just a group dinner because you'll get nervous anytime you see her. That's normal. But let me tell you this: you don't have to pretend, you don't have to overthink or overdo anything, just be yourself. I know it sounds cliché but you guys have kissed, you clearly like each other. Jen's clearly into you too, so you don't have to be anyone you're not. Just go with the flow and see where it takes you."
"I know, I know..." Jack mumbled quietly as he fidgeted with the shirt in his hands. "I know all that, deep down. But anytime she is there, I just forget ... everything. I don't... I don't know what to do with myself, and my brain gets all mushy and I am scared I'll make a fool of myself. And it's so strange, I go from being all confident with her to fuzzy brained idiot in an instant. It's ...- I don't know." Jack broke off and huffed for what felt like the tenth time that day. "It's annoying."
Ben and Paul shared a knowing look with each other before they burst into laughter. "My man, you've got it so bad!" Paul clapped his best friend on the back. "You do realize what you just said are the classic symptoms of someone liking a person - or even falling in love, huh?"
"I'm not in love with her." Jack rolled his eyes.
"Yet." Ben crooned. "I'd wager you're very well on the way."
"Shut up." Jack clapped back before standing up, he had enough of the talk and the teasing. He had a dinner to get ready for, and so did Paul. "I need to get ready."
"Yeah, he needs to look like a proper Disney Prince for his Disney Princess!" Paul shouted after him as Jack left the bedroom and Jack rolled his eyes at the cackle from his brother and Paul.
------------------------------------------------------
Jack stood there in front of the restaurant, his foot tapping impatiently on the ground. He knew Paul was side eying him and his impatient tapping, but he couldn't help it. Waiting for her was wearing on his already very high strung nervous system and he just couldn't wait to see her.
"Stop it. You're going to run a hole into the pavement with that tapping." Paul nudged Jack with a grin on his face. It was obvious he was enjoying Jack's unusual state and behavior. "She'll be there, don't worry."
All the way from the apartment to the restaurant, Jack had been nervous that maybe she'd cancel. It was weighing on his mind what she'd said to him earlier - that it was all too much. He was worried that maybe she'd get overwhelmed and cancel last minute. Though, to be fair, she had agreed to this, and the dinner was in her honor basically, so Jack's rational part knew she wouldn't. It was just his anxiety that made his head spin - and her, too.
He was standing with his hands in his coat pockets, nervously tapping away with his foot and his eyes darting around before they landed on Paul who was standing next to him. "I know, I just... she's late." He looked down at his watch. "She should be here by now."
"Oh for God's sake." Paul rolled his eyes. "She'll be here, stop worrying, you muppet!"
Jack sighed. "We've been waiting for ten minutes now. She's not gonna bail, is she?" His eyes scanned his surroundings and suddenly he noticed something - or rather someone.
There she was. Jack had spotted her first out of the group, what with his constant worrying that she was going to bail. He watched as she walked purposefully across the street, headphones on, and he admired the confident aura she carried herself with. She looked their way and a smile crossed her face, as she recognized Jack among the group, before playfully rolling her eyes. Jack held up a hand and sent her tiny wave, and Jen flashed him her teeth in a wider smile. He felt like it was going to be a good night, after all - even if they weren't alone. As this thought crossed Jack's mind, he realized how many ups and downs he felt emotionally ever since meeting Jen. She messed with his mind and emotions and he needed to do something about it, immediately. He was never usually so all over the place emotionally, and it was all her doing. Being nonchalant about his feelings was not going to cut it, he realized that. But how could he be 'chalant' without scaring her off?
As Jen finally arrived at where the group was standing, he watched as she greeted and hugged everyone - Paul, Katie, Emma, the list went on. Katie really went above and beyond and for a second, Jack wondered how Katie had managed to get a reservation for this many people. But then his mind immediately drifted back to Jen, like it always did. Her smile was dazzling and she was charming everyone in the group, that much he could tell. Even Paul was charmed as they exchanged banter. And then she turned to him. Standing there, in the typical London cold weather in November, he felt that tension between them again. But this time, it was less heavy - it was flirty and playful. Her smile lit up her entire face and Jack wondered how she could look even more beautiful than she normally did. He could tell she had done her hair a little differently and she was wearing some makeup but she still looked like her with some of her features somehow more prominent, and she was radiant, especially with that smile. He really couldn't wait for his turn to finally hug her, and as he stepped closer with a slight smile on his face, he reached for her frame and tugged her closer to him. Her scent filled his nose and Jack struggled to keep his face from just nuzzling into her neck to just get lost in it. Instead, with a lot of willpower on his part, he just pressed her to him, his hands on her back and took a quick breath of the scent of her hair which smelled like some sort of fruit, sweet and subtle but so wonderful. He lowered his face down to her ear and whispered, "I thought you were gonna bail on me here." He could feel her arms around his bigger frame slightly before she stepped back and her smiling eyes met his. "What, were you worried?" she teased and he chuckled lightly. "What if I was?" Jen looked up at him and bit her lower lip but didn't say anything. As they watched each other, Jack could feel the tension tenfold. His heart was racing to hard, he could feel it in his ear, and his breath hitched the second her eyes met his again. It was insane, really. Nothing he had felt for anyone before could compare to what he felt with just one single look from a girl he didn't even know that well. All he knew was that he wanted - needed - to know her. How could someone elicit such a strong reaction in him?
Jack had never really been a believer in love at first sight. He would swear it was only ever really attraction at first sight. And that definitely happened between him and Jen. But over time, and after those kisses in New York and today, he realized it ran much deeper than that. Sure, he never was really able to get her off his mind. She was always there somewhere, in a forbidden corner of his mind, wondering if she thought about him the way he thought about her. Wondering if he meant something to her the way she meant something to him. But it went beyond that. He could feel his heart beating out of his chest anytime she so much at looked at him. And when she smiled, specifically at him? He would swear his heart skipped not just one, but several beats. A sudden thought crossed his mind, and it hit him like a ton of bricks. All those times that Paul or Ben had made fun of him for falling in love with her - he suddenly realized they weren't far off.
Jack became suddenly aware of the fact that he was dangerously close to falling in love. He got this epiphany - that if he was really going to get to know Jen, he was most definitely going to fall. This wasn't something he had planned or even looked for, but it had hit him straight across the face, or maybe it had ran into him in a busy New York hotel lobby in the shape of Jen. Casual and cool could go straight to hell, there was no way he would be able to keep his cool. And there was absolutely no way to be nonchalant, not that he had planned to. But suddenly realizing just how close to the brink he really was made it basically impossible for him to hide anything. Anyone who would watch him interact with Jen would know he was a goner. His mind was racing, a jumble of thoughts and revelations about his own feelings, but his eyes never once left hers - they couldn't.
Their weird staring contest was interrupted by someone clearing their throat - Katie. Jen, slightly startled, looked to the side where Katie stood with one eyebrow raised, watching them with a smirk. "Come one, we've got reservations."
Jen, awkwardly fumbling with her small bag, nodded and her eyes darted to everything but Jack. He couldn't help but smirk at her, his eyes never once leaving her. She was so interesting - one second flirty and teasing, the next awkward and fumbling around with her bag. He so badly wanted to figure her out, but he had a feeling that it was going to be a tough road, and maybe that was exactly what intrigued him about her. Because no matter how much he thought about her or talked to her, she always managed to surprise him somehow, turning from confident to shy and back to confident within two seconds.
As Jen made her way into the restaurant, Paul by her side as they talked about something Jack didn't really hear, he watched her movements. He was so preoccupied - or entranced - with whatever Jen did, he hadn't noticed Katie watching him. "You know, I don't believe for a second you two don't know each other. And if you really don't, then me and Alex can go pack our bags because holy shit - I have never seen two people with such chemistry before."
Concealing his surprise at Katie's assessment, he just smiled slightly - a secret smile that hid his excitement and his nervousness and his feelings all at once, just like it hid their shared history, even if it was a short one. Jack was definitely hoping that the history they shared would become longer and longer, and would go on and on.
------------------------------------------------------------
Jack was dressed in a smart  coat and jeans, and he looked gorgeous, Jen thought. He always did, but dressed up like that was a completely different ball game. She wondered how he'd look in a suit. Or maybe that wasn't a good idea, because if she let her thoughts trail off, she'd lose her good manners. Subconsciously, she bit her lip. 'Better not go there.' she thought as she arrived at where the group stood in front of the restaurant. He was so tall and stood out among the group, and Jen had trouble keeping her eyes off him. Her mind was a different matter anyway, especially after the way he had held and kissed her today. God, he was so gorgeous.
Focusing on greeting the others proved a difficult task when she could feel his eyes on her - or rather burning into her frame. She hadn't realized just how intense he was. Maybe she should have known because she could see his intensity in the way he practiced and played tennis, but he was just as intense off the court - or at the very least when it came to her. He was intense in the way he watched her, in the way he kissed and held her to him, in the way he touched her, even in the way he talked to. Goodness gracious, his flirting in the locker room! Nobody had ever been this bold with her. He was not hiding his interest in the least, and he watched her shamelessly when she was close. She felt so desired, it was almost laughable, really.
When she finally reached him, it seemed to her that he couldn't really wait to finally hug her too, because she didn't even have time to process anything before he tugged her closer and engulfed her in his big frame. He smelled so good, slightly musky and it fogged her brain slightly. She could hear him taking a deep breath - and then he leaned down, his lips nearly grazing her ear, she could feel his hot breath on her ear and she nearly shuddered. "I thought you were gonna bail on me here." he whispered and Jen wanted to swoon. Holy shit.
However, a trained athlete, she was able to just so keep her composure as she stepped back - which she immediately regretted, because she wanted to keep being surrounded by his strong arms - and smiled up at him. "What, were you worried?" She decided to tease him, maybe it was her strategy to distract herself from her own racing heart.
Jack cocked his head to his side slightly, and Jen realized his hands were still on her arms. "What if I was?" he challenged her and with a start, she became conscious of just how intense he was. His eyes weren't just burning, they were blazing into hers, and he looked at her with an expression she couldn't quite decipher. He was thinking about her, that much she knew with the way he looked at her, but what? What was he thinking? For a second, she thought she saw surprise in his eyes, but then it was gone in a split second and replaced by something that could resemble acceptance or realization? Whatever it was, she couldn't quite put her finger on it. And then suddenly, they were interrupted by a cheeky Katie who was clearly enjoying their show. But even so, as she walked into the restaurant, she could feel his eyes on her, even as she walked alongside Paul who talked to her about his musical preferences, even as she took a seat at the big table exactly opposite of Jack, whose eyes immediately found hers again.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The conversation was flowing wonderfully. The table was buzzing with laughter and stories and camaraderie - and tension, even if only between two people. Jack felt like he was on fire. He could hardly take his eyes off of Jen who was conveniently (or inconveniently) sitting right across from him. Her eyes sparkled in the light from the small crystal chandelier on the ceiling and the candles on the table. Katie, who was sitting right next to her, had seen him every single time that his eyes had drifted over to Jen, that much he knew, just like Paul had seen it from next to him who was sitting on the rounded edge of the table and could see both Jen and Jack wonderfully. It was a comical situation really, and he hadn't exactly thought that this is how the evening would go - and little did he know, neither did Katie, who was determined to make Jen and Jack spend more time together. Jen had spent nearly the entire dinner answering questions about herself, her career, her hobbies, her techniques - it had definitely been interesting for Jack to watch her interact with the others, to see her smile, hear her laugh and her answers, just to get to know her a little bit more, but it was not enough. He wanted and needed alone time with her, although paired with his earlier realization that he was dangerously close to falling for her, it was a scary admission. Spending alone time with her was surely at one point push him over the edge, and love hadn't been something he'd planned on at this point in his life. Jen had been charming and funny and it was a wonderful side to her he hadn't yet really seen. She could be quite the entertainer despite her more quiet ways and it seemed everybody in this round loved her company there.
Katie, however, had watched slightly dismayed at the fact that Jen and Jack had hardly interacted with each other. Of course, there were the odd remarks here and there and Jack had hardly taken his eyes off of Jen and they'd shared smiles and looks, but in order for her matchmaking plan to work they had to interact. But then it just so happened: Jen had excused herself to go the toilet and and Jack had watched her stand up and leave the table. Katie saw how his mind considered his next move before he excused himself as well. Katie could barely hide her smirk as she watched his figure retreat to where Jen had just walked off as well. Something was definitely going on - and she was going to help it become more. And what's more, she'd already figured out just how she was going to do it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jack leaned against the wall right across the door to the toilets where Jen was going to come out. He didn't know what exactly he was thinking following her, but he couldn't wait to talk to her. He had underestimated how much of a star the Jennifer Langfort would be in the group. There had been absolutely no possibility to properly talked to her, so the second he could get her alone, he took his chances - even though he was totally aware of Katie being onto him and them.
The door swung open and Jen emerged, rubbing her hands with disinfectant and looking down - she didn't see him as he leaned there against the wall. As she looked up and realized Jack was waiting for her, Jen's eyes widened before taking on a teasing glint. "Are you waiting for me, Draper?"
Jack licked his lips. "Maybe. What would you say if I was?" he asked as he stepped closer, very much aware that they were in the middle of a restaurant. He tugged her into a corner that wasn't visible to the rest of the tables - thankfully, their own table was far away to be seen by anyone.
Jen cocked her head to the side, still a teasing glint in her eyes and a tiny smirk on her lips. "I'd ask to what I owe this honor of a Disney Prince waiting for me."
Hearing the nickname that was like a secret just between them, he looked down, trying to keep his wide smile at bay. When he had first heard it in the press conference, he'd been annoyed but now - now, it was completely different. It was something between them, something they shared and he cherished it anytime she'd call him that. Looking back up into her eyes, he could feel that their connection seemed somehow even more charged than before. "Maybe... maybe this Disney Prince is waiting for some alone time with his Cinderella." He could see Jen had trouble keeping the laughter at bay that bubbled up from her chest. He'd resorted to calling her Cinderella because it just seemed so fitting - with the way she'd run off after their initial encounter.
"And why would he need some alone time with her?" They both knew they were close to dangerous territory they hadn't crossed before. Confessing things they hadn't confessed to each other before. But Jack didn't want to be the one to shy away from this. He felt like he owed it to himself to see where this would go because he had never felt like this before.
"Because he's been waiting to talk to her the entire evening but never got the chance to." The smiles had dropped from both their faces and all that was left was an intense yearning in their eyes as they never once left each other. "Maybe a big group dinner was a bad idea after all." he murmured as he stepped even closer.
Jen's breath hitched softly as his hand took his into hers. "Why would it have been a bad idea? Maybe she liked getting to know everyone. Maybe... she enjoyed making some new friends."
"Mhm." he hummed as he considered his next move. "But what if Disney Prince has been desperate to spend time with Cinderella alone and everyone just keeps getting in the way?" Jack could feel his heart speed up as he made this admission. He didn't want to hide his desire to spend time with her. "What if all he's wanted to do since he kissed her in New York is spend time with her and get to know her?"
Jack could see something flash in her eyes for a moment. "Desperate, huh?" Jen murmured and Jack chuckled quietly, shaking his head in slight disbelief. "Is that all you got from my confession?"
Jen looked at him for a moment before she rose up on her tip toes - which meant she was still shorter than Jack, but she reached up around the back of his neck and tugged his face down to hers. Jack willingly abided to what Jen silently asked and leaned down, anticipating her next move. But he never could anticipate anything with her because he thought she would just peck him on the cheek or something. Instead, she surprised him yet again when she gently pressed her lips to his. Jack reacted immediately, closing his eyes and pulled her closer to him. It was a soft kiss and over way too soon for Jack's liking, but the softness in Jen's eyes as she pulled away and looked at him sort of made up for it. She had never really looked at him this way and Jack could feel his heart skip a beat. "Just so you know, Cinderella was hoping she could spend some time with Disney Prince too." she whispered, her hands still keeping his face close to hers. She slid up again and pecked his lips gently. "But we have to go back because if we stay any longer, everybody will be asking questions we can't and don't really want to answer."
Jack's eyebrows furrowed for a moment. "I know. I just wish we could get out of here, just the two of us." Jen smiled up at him, her eyes shining.
"Jen... I'm pretty sure it's quite obvious, but... I'm crazy about you. I have been crazy about you ever since we first met in New York. I can't stop thinking about you. I don't... I don't know exactly what happened or how all this happened, but at this point I don't even care, I just...I just want to get to know you. Spend time with you." Jack was a little surprised with himself as he admitted this to her but he didn't regret it. "Just you and me, alone." He'd decided that even though he didn't want to overwhelm or pressure her, but he didn't want to hide what he felt. Keeping it all in wasn't going to help their situation and Jack knew that Jen had an obvious tendency to run away, so he was going to be the one to stay. Those feelings were scary for him too, and yes, they overwhelmed him, but he wasn't one to back away.
Jen didn't say anything. Even as moments passed, she remained eerily quiet as she looked up at him and Jack suddenly wondered if he had come on too strong, if his confession had come too early. As he looked into her eyes, he could see a slight panic flare up and Jack realized that this was going to be more difficult than he had thought it would be. Jack swallowed down the panic that arose in himself at her obviously sudden change in demeanor. It was like looking at someone and realizing they were retreating in real time. Jen was a complicated woman, clearly - maybe because of her accident, maybe because of other things he didn't understand, but she was definitely hard to get to know. There was obviously something that was holding her back from exploring this connection they had, because every time they spoke and every time he looked at her he could feel the connection and at the same time, he could feel her hesitation. And that was the problem right there - he didn't know her enough yet to know when he was being too intense. He was in a predicament in a way. He didn't want to hide his feelings, but how could he be honest without scaring her off? He didn't really know what triggered her or made her tick. And he didn't know why she could be playful and flirty and kiss him in one second, and then turn cold and shut off and reject him in the next. Jen pulled away, stepping out of the corner they had been hiding in. "I have to go, Jack. Maybe just... wait a  few minutes so it's not too obvious." she said softly before she walked away in a hurry.
If someone had asked Jack in that moment how he felt, he would have said that yes, he was a bit hurt at the way she had pulled back so suddenly. He was hurt at what felt like a rejection on her part, even though it probably wasn't - he could see her panic and inner turmoil, yet that didn't exactly make it better in that moment. He was just a normal guy at the end of the day, and dealing with something that closely resembled rejection or at the very least with someone you had strong feelings for pulling away from you did hurt him. He was human and it made him wonder what he had done wrong to deserve such a treatment. It made him question himself. Had he really been too intense? Had he come on too strong for her? Had he been too direct? Jack didn't really think he had been - not more than he usually was when he cared for someone. So why had she run off yet again? He sighed, running a hand through his hair, messing it up. He was suddenly incredibly tired and wanted to go home to think this through.
As he returned to the table slowly, he was lost in his thoughts, his eyebrows furrowed in slight frustration, and as he sat down while the conversation was apparently in full swing and nobody really paid that much attention, his eyes drifted over to Jen yet again, but she was obviously busy with talking to the others and she was avoiding his gaze at all costs, which soured his mood even more. Paul, who had sensed his frustration, nudged his arm with a raised eyebrow but Jack just shook his head and took a sip of his drink. He looked over at Jen again but the second she could feel his eyes on her she went above and beyond to avoid even looking into his direction. Jack couldn't understand it. What had he done wrong? Or had he misread every single moment between them? He hated how much one single flash of retraction on her part made him question everything that he had done and said and felt ever since he had first laid his eyes on her in New York. Had he really been so wrong? Had she led him on? Why would she say she wanted to spend time with him, just to retreat into her shell immediately after? Had he just imagined the connection between them? Had it only been him who felt this? Had it only been him who had caught these intense feelings? Suddenly, nothing really made sense anymore and he hated it. Jack wasn't normally the kind of guy to question everything. Sure, he was an overthinker and he suffered from anxiety, but he knew when something was real. He had been so sure this had been real. But now? Now, he questioned every moment, every glance, every thought, every kiss, every touch, every laugh. And the most annoying part was that he knew he was being an idiot. She had literally told him the situation overwhelmed her, maybe not so much in so many words but it had been obvious. And he had seen the way the panic crept up on her the second he had confessed to her what he felt. Still, Jen's rejection hurt him more than he cared to admit. He wanted to talk to her, find out what he had done wrong to do better and to fix whatever happened, but the stubborn side of his told him he had done nothing wrong. He had just been honest with his feelings and she had decided, actively, to ignore it and run off.
And suddenly, he didn't really feel like finding out because right in this moment, he was simply hurt. He had laid his heart on the line for her and she had stomped all over it. Jack didn't really know where to go from here. He was pretty sure, deep down, that this was not more than just a blip on their shared road, but right now, he was hurt and deflated. He would need to ponder this issue and think it over before knowing how to move on. For now, Jack felt like a boy whose crush had told him to fuck off and he didn't know how to handle it.
-----------------------------------------
Jen didn't know what was going on with herself, she couldn't understand it. Everything was wonderful between them, the chemistry was sizzling and she was enjoying their flirtatious banter. The more she talked to him and the more he flirted his ass off when he was with her, the more she realized that the feelings she had were genuine and not just based on initial attraction. She could see his amazing sense of humor, his kindness and his caring side - the more she saw of him, the more she liked him.
But then suddenly he had dropped this confession on her, a confession that had hit her like a ton of bricks.
"Jen... I'm pretty sure it's quite obvious, but... I'm crazy about you. I have been crazy about you ever since we first met in New York. I can't stop thinking about you. I don't... I don't know exactly what happened or how all this happened, but at this point I don't even care, I just... I like you. A lot. And I just want to get to know you."
The way he'd looked at her, god. His hazel eyes had been burning with an intensity she had never seen before in anyone else. And it was all for her - this passion, this intense desire they'd conveyed just by looking at her. He had been so earnest and laid his heart on the line for her - and what she had done? Panicked like the chicken she was and fled the scene, as per usual. Her brain had had completely stopped working, it seemed, because it felt like an out-of-body experience in a way. She couldn't even properly remember what happened after - only that she'd somehow ended up on the group's table again and nobody, except for Katie, had noticed their quite long absence. Once Jen had returned to the table, she had been included in their conversation about controversies in the tennis world and she'd barely had time to register anything at all. A few minutes later, Jack had quietly returned to the table as well, and Jen had just noticed the look of concern on Katie's and Paul's faces as he had sat down, all the while the conversation going on in full swing. She had barely allowed herself to let her eyes drift over to his frame for a second, but that was more than enough to register the defeated look on his face, the hurt that had settled in his usually sparkling eyes and the frown that darkened his features. He simply looked sad and hurt and that hurt Jen, even more so knowing that she had caused it. She felt a pang in her chest because she knew he didn't deserve such a treatment at all.
But then she thought about his confession again, and she could feel the panic creeping up on her again. He was so open with his feelings, so grounded and comfortable in his emotions - and even if the intensity of his feelings seemed to scare him, he didn't let that stop him from simply feeling them. He leaned in to what he feared. He didn't hide anything, he wasn't deceiving with his intentions, he was so secure in what he felt, he didn't feel the need to hide it.
And where he was an open book, Jen was a closed one. Experiences had taught her to keep her cards close to her chest, and that's what she had been doing for the past years, especially after what happened in Indian Wells. And someone being so open with what he felt? That overwhelmed her, it made her panic so much her first instinct was to run. It wasn't that Jen was dishonest with herself. No, she could very well admit to herself how much she liked this young Brit, how much she wanted to be around him, get to know him. But the second he let her know what he felt, she panicked and didn't know how to react. If she had taken a second to breathe, she could have calmed down, taken a deep breath - and then tell him that she felt exactly the same way. Her intentions had never once been to hurt him. Jen hated this stupid saying 'It's not you, it's me.' - but in this instance it was more than true. It was her who was the problem, and it most definitely wasn't him. Jack had been wonderful, understanding, kind and funny - not once had he come on too strong or been too intense or treated her in any way that was less than respectful. If anything, he was way too good. She felt like he was especially too good for her in that respect. She was a mess. Completely over her head, out of her comfort zone and ever since Indian Wells in what felt like a spiral. She was used to being in control - and she was not in control here. Not over her feelings, not over the situation and not over what would follow. Jen had shown flashes over bravery, matching his intensity and honesty with confessions of her own, returning his flirtatious banter, but the second shit got real? Her bravery disappeared, never to be seen again. But she knew this was something she had to work through, especially because Jack deserved better. There was a nagging question though, that was always there in the back of her mind: was this really worth it? Was their connection really worth it? How could she know that this was really worth going through all this hassle for? And most importantly, was she really worth it? Her mind was in overthinking overdrive and she knew she didn't really have a right to question what he felt. She knew he was being honest with his feelings and questioning them did him a disservice.
He had never once given her a reason to distrust what he said or to think he wasn't being truthful, and Jen quickly shut her mind up as it went into this direction. It felt like she was in a war with her own mind - the rational part of her and the irrational, panicking one. And deep down, Jen knew she didn't want to let their connection die, she wanted to find out where this could go. Why did she have to be in control all the time? In reality, no one could control other people's feelings or their actions, you could only control how you reacted to them. And she had reacted abysmally, that much she knew. How could she really fix this? Obviously, an apology would be a good start, but when and how? Jack, with the defeated and deflated look on his face, was most definitely hurt by what felt like a rejection on her part, even though it wasn't one really, at least not for her, but he couldn't know that, could he? He had only seen the way she had completely shut down after his confession, and drawn his own conclusions, clearly. How could she let him know that those conclusions were definitely the wrong ones and that her reaction had more to do with herself rather than him? Jack looked so hurt, and withdrawn, Jen felt ashamed and didn't even dare look him in the eyes. She could feel his eyes on her and Jen wondered just how resilient this man was, and how he seemed to still care, even after the way she had just treated him. So really, how could she fix this? Because he definitely deserved for her to do that and finally man up. Just the question remained - how could she finally do just that? Because the very least he deserved for her to be honest with him, too, even if she didn't really understand herself.
But as usual, the universe - this time in the shape of Katie Boulter - stepped in to give her a chance at answering all these questions for herself, even if Jen didn't realize it at first. Katie had asked where Jen stayed and Jen had told her which hotel. Out of the corner of her eyes she had seen Jack twiddle with the straw in his drink, lost in thought, and the hurt and frustration still clearly visible. Ever since returning to the table, he hadn't said another word, despite being quite talkative and cheerful before.
Katie's eyes were drifting back and forth between them and Jen could see her mind basically doing cartwheels with thoughts trying to figure out what was going on. Katie wasn't stupid - in fact, she was extremely perceptive. She had realized something had happened, especially while they both had been to the toilet, and Jack's sour mood hadn't gone unnoticed. Several guys had teased him about his moodiness to which he only replied with a shrug and had looked pointedly over to Jen who had ignored it, yet again in a rush of panic. Katie had enough of this childish behavior and decided to take matters into her own hands.
"So, clearly I'm not letting you go home on your own." Katie said and Jen's brain had trouble keeping up. "It's fine, I'll just take a cab, you know?" she tried to wave Katie off, but she was relentless. "That's ridiculous, it's not that far, is it? I'm sure there is someone who will gladly walk you home." Katie smirked before looking over at Jack, who seemed oblivious, lost in his own dreary world after what had happened before.
---------------------------------------------------------
Jack heard Katie's voice through the commotion. He hadn't really paid attention. All he could think about was how Jen's demeanor had changed from one second to the next after he'd confessed at least part of his feelings. He hadn't even been completely honest, because he could have told her that he could feel himself falling for her, but how would she have reacted to that? Changed planets? She'd already panicked when he told her he couldn't stop thinking about her.
Jack realized that they were all ready to go. They'd already paid, but after he had paid, he got lost in his sulkiness again, sulking away in his corner of the table. He felt like a child who hadn't gotten his favorite toy, but he couldn't help it. Maybe his heart wasn't quite broken yet because he did know he wanted to talk to Jen about this at some point, but it at the very least got a crack. He stood up, and grabbed his coat from the coat rack, his face completely expressionless, but to Katie and Paul it was clear something was amiss. "What's wrong, man?" Paul whispered to him as they stood side by side next to the table as the others continued talking about a topic Jack didn't care to know. He just shrugged. "I'll tell you later." He told his best friend curtly before Jen walked right past him and his eyes briefly landed on her before he looked away. It hurt looking at her while she was laughing at something someone else said, her eyes crinkling and her smile dazzling.
Katie had a plan to follow through, though. She pulled Jen right in front of Jack and Paul, just as the others gathered around as well, indicating they were ready to go. "Jen, I told you, you are absolutely not walking home on your own."
Jen rolled her eyes at her newly found friend and apparent matchmaker. "Katie, it's fine, I can walk home alone, it's really not too far, it's maybe twenty to twenty five minutes. And honestly, I've had so much to eat, the walk home will do me good."
"I don't care. You can go on that walk with a second person. And I know just the one." Katie could barely contain her smile - her plan was going to work and she knew it, even though Jen was more than oblivious to what she was planning. Jack, however, could see right through it, having known Katie for quite long. He sighed internally. Normally he would have jumped at the opportunity - hell, he even would have volunteered immediately. But after what happened earlier, he wasn't really in the mood anymore to get Jen alone. He wanted to go home alone and sulk.
"Oh my God, stop it! I don't need a chaperone!" Jen exclaimed, exasperated and Katie laughed. "But you don't know your way around and we all care about you getting home safely - Jacky boy here, too. I'm sure Jack will be more than happy to accompany you back."
Jen's eyes widened with sudden realization, and under different circumstances, Jack would have laughed at how comical this was. But he wasn't really in the mood anymore. "Wha - no, Katie! I'm not gonna have Jack walk me home like the 1800s!" Jen's voice sounded incredulous and slightly panicked at the thought of having to spend time alone with Jack yet again, and this soured his mood even further. He rolled his eyes as he watched her. "Look, Katie, she clearly doesn't want to. So just let her go home on her own or take a taxi or whatever. You're making a huge deal out of nothing." he snarked at the two girls, and he was so pissed off he got annoyed at Jen having the audacity to look slightly hurt at his words. He hadn't really meant it, to be fair - if he had been honest with himself. Of course, he would have walked her home to make sure she was safe. Of course he wanted her to get home safely, and of course he cared that she was safe. He was just angry and hurt and he let her know he was. He watched as Jen blinked a few times before she looked down at the floor and saying softly, "Yeah, I think that I should probably just call a cab. That... that's probably best. Thanks for your concern, though." Her voice was barely audible and she turned around and left the group, pulling her phone out of her bag, presumably to call a taxi. Katie and Paul both turned to him, looking at him like he was a complete idiot - and to be fair, they were right.
Jack regretted the way he had snarked at Jen. Her wide eyes and slightly hurt look made him want to eat his words, and he rolled his eyes at himself before sighing. "Jen, wait." he called after Jen who looked up from her phone, looking like a deer caught in headlights. "I... I will walk you home."
Jen's eyes widened once again for a second before darting from Jack to Katie to Paul and back to Jack, her phone still in her hands, lighting up her face. "I - no, really, it's okay. I don't really want to cause any trouble." she stumbled over her words slightly. "Like - like you said, it's really not a big deal. I'll just be out of your hair that way." she bit her lip and looked down again. Jack stepped closer, his hands in his coat pockets. "I don't mind. Really."
Jen's head snapped up, staring at him. "Are - are you sure?" she asked him, incredulously. "It's really no problem for me to walk home by myself or just call a cab."
Jack sighed. "I'm not gonna let you walk home by yourself at this hour. Katie's right ... I want you to get home safely."
Jen continued staring at him before blinking slowly. "I.. alright." she gnawed at her bottom lip, unsure of what all this meant. "Thank you." she added softly, and Jack just nodded at her, not really knowing what else to say. He, too, didn't know what this meant. But he wouldn't have been able to live with himself if anything happened to her, especially after what she'd gone through after Indian Wells. But also because he obviously still cared about her. That wasn't going to stop just because she'd panicked and run off after he'd confessed some parts of his feelings.
Katie clapped her hands, satisfied with herself. "Great. That's settled then." She ushered everyone out the door, and as the group walked out, Katie right next to Jen, Paul caught Jack's sleeve to slow him down. "Dude, what the hell was that?"
Jack sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'll tell you when I get home. It's a long story."
"Hmm." Paul hummed as he looked at his friend thoughtfully. "Can't wait to hear it."
---------------------------------------------------
After the group had said their goodbyes and hugging Jen before they each went their separate ways (but not before Jack could see Katie smirk at her plan going exactly the way she had wanted it to), Jack and Jen left too, into the direction of her hotel.
They walked side by side, quietly, the only sound that could be heard was their footsteps on the pavement. It was quite a nice night, mild for a November night, and the air smelled fresh after the rain. Jack had buried his hands in his coat and Jen had wrapped up in her coat, wearing her gloves and a thick scarf to keep herself warm. They walked along the road, and it was eerily quiet, only sometimes a car would pass them. Jack realized with a start that he wouldn't have wanted her to walk home on her own in this part of town. Sure, it was mostly safe, but you could never know, especially in the dark, and women being targeted by creeps was not exactly uncommon, unfortunately. He was suddenly glad that he had swallowed his stupid pride and was walking her home. Maybe... just maybe they could talk it out, get over this stupid bump. He was still hopeful, but he didn't even know where to start.
Jack and Jen were still walking in silence when he suddenly realized she had stopped walking. He stopped too and turned to face her, probably really looking at her for the first time in possibly two hours or however long it was since she'd run off. Her nose and cheeks were adorably red from the cold and she wrung her gloved hands, obviously displaying inner turmoil before she looked up at him. Her voice was quiet and barely audible as she finally spoke. "I'm sorry." Her eyes were sad and that pained him, even if she had hurt him. Usually her eyes were sparkling with mirth, but now the light seemed dimmed and he hated it.
He hadn't really expected an apology. Jack had thought that maybe they could talk about what happened and that she would maybe explain why she'd run off, but he hadn't really expected her to tell him she was sorry. So he was at a slight loss for words before he caught himself as he stepped closer to her. "Why do you always run away from me?" he asked before he added in an attempt to be humorous, "I'm not that bad, am I?"
But Jen smiled only sadly before shaking her head. "No." she whispered, and she looked almost sorrowful. "No, you're really not."
He was an emotional guy and he prided himself on being honest, and Jack knew it would be pointless to try and stay away from her. He wouldn't have been able to anyway. He was glad that she'd made the first move and started with an apology, even if it was only a small step. He wanted, needed, to talk this out. So he decided to go with what he knew - honesty and emotionality. "You know you really hurt me earlier." he started and Jen looked at him once again with wide eyes - this time, though, he could see the sadness in them. "I thought we were at the same wavelength, you know? And I confess my feelings to you and you just... run off."
"I know." Jen swallowed as she cleared her voice.
"That really hurt me. I.. I'd like to think I'm quite level headed. I don't normally lose my head around girls like that, but with you... it's different. I can't think straight and I think this really could be... something, you know? And I thought that you felt the same, so being blown off like that was... harsh."  His voice was steady, even though he had no idea how he managed that because his heart once again felt like it was jumping out of his chest.
"I do." she interrupted him, her voice almost anxious. "I do feel the same." His eyes widened for a moment before he asked, "Then why do you act like you can't get away from me fast enough? Why did you run off after I literally told you I can't stop thinking about you?"
 "I... don't know, Jack. I just... don't know." she sighed, and looked down at her hands. "It's like this tug of war - this push and pull, wanting intimacy and at the same time.. being scared of it." Jack didn't say anything, he just watched her as she tried to explain herself. "I'm not usually scared of things, but when it comes to intimacy and being vulnerable and shit... I'm a chicken. I'm a complete chicken. It scares me absolutely shitless."
Jack remained quiet as he sensed she wasn't quite finished. "And then here you are, and you're so honest and straightforward and direct and so ... so goddamn secure in how and what you feel and you don't feel the need to try and hide it and I just... I don't know how to handle it." she confessed and he furrowed his eyebrows. "I got overwhelmed because I've never been with someone who's just so... upfront, you know? And I know that's not a good explanation and it sounds like an excuse because I'm a fucking adult and I should know by now how to talk to a guy like one, especially a guy like you who deserves it, but I've just ... all I've ever known are stupid mind games and emotionally stunted guys who would act all nonchalant, so much so that you keep questioning yourself and them and everything they do... and then a guy comes along who is the complete opposite and I have absolutely no fucking idea what to do."
Jack blinked at the confession. "Whenever I've been vulnerable or shown my emotions, it just somehow always ended up being used against me, so I don't know what to do when someone's just there and being... honest for the sake of being honest and nothing else. It works against everything I know, so I just... I'm sorry. I panicked and didn't know what to do, so I went with my first instinct and... ran. I don't have a much better explanation for it." She shrugged helplessly, and for some reason, he was endlessly endeared by that simple gesture. He appreciated her honestly and the glimpse into the complicated woman who was standing in front of him. And he didn't mind that she was complicated. It made her all the more interesting. Jack did know though that he needed to toughen up and and strengthen his ego somehow. Maybe he was too forgiving, but he couldn't let her go. He didn't want to. And he knew that his ego was most likely going to take a few more hits, because he hadn't even gone full confession tonight. What would she do if he told her he was most likely going to fall in love with her? Yes, he definitely was going to take a few more hits.
But he was willing to take them, if she looked at him the way she did now - complete honesty, her eyes shining with vulnerability that was just for him, trusting him that he wasn't going to use it against her. "I know I need to work on this whole... running away tendency. I know I need to stop running and just grow a pair." He chuckled at her choice of words, and it brought a small smile to her face as well. "I'm just not very good at this ... being vulnerable thing."
"I think you're doing a good job right now, from where I'm standing." Jack's voice was steady and calm.
A slight smile crossed her face and for the first time in a while on this evening, she didn't look like she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. "I'm trying really hard right now... but to be honest it's so exhausting. I'm so far out of my comfort zone here." she confessed. "And I have no fucking idea what I'm doing."
Jack chuckled at her confession. "I think... I think it's good to get out of the comfort zone sometimes. It's how we grow, become better."
Jen looked down, still wringing her hands, her usual nervous habit. "I know, I want to become better, and it' why I'm trying to push myself even more out of my comfort zone..."
Jack cocked his head to the side, not quite understanding. "What do you mean?"
He could see she was nervous as she looked into his eyes, and her vulnerability in them took his breath away for a moment. "You... you said you liked me."
Jack nodded, still not sure where she was going with this. "Yeah, I do. I do like you."
"So you were honest with me about how you felt and I think it's only fair that I tell you how I feel." Jack's eyes widened with sudden realization.
"Jen, you don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with. I didn't tell you how I feel about you just so would feel obligated to do the same. I... I just wanted you to know because you deserve to know, and because I'm not playing any games here. I just wanted you to know, that's it. You don't have to confess anything. I didn't tell you I liked you just to expect to hear it back or make you feel pressured." He was talking fast, his voice urgent, needing her to understand that this was him simply wanting to be honest without expectations.
To his surprise, Jen nodded. "I know. And that's why it is only fair that I tell you too. Because you don't expect anything in return, but you deserve it more than anyone." she said quietly, taking a shy step closer. "You deserve to know that I... that I really like you too." her voice was barely above a whisper and he could see how much effort it took her to be truthful like this. "And I really want to get to know you better too, because everything I've seen so far has been nothing short of wonderful."
His heart felt like it was racing on a highway, it was going so fast and he had trouble keeping the big smile at bay that suddenly covered his face, shining in the streetlamp. Maybe, just maybe, he could also hear a choir sing somewhere in the distance. Finally, he felt like this was a step into the right direction, the one he had been yearning for ever since they'd kissed in that hotel lobby in New York. Finally, he didn't have to overthink or second guess anymore - he knew for sure they were on the same page and it hadn't all been a figment of his imagination. He was so happy, and he suddenly felt intoxicated with happiness.
Jack couldn't help himself. He stepped impossibly closer to her, cupped her cheeks gently and pressed his lips to hers in a soft kiss. He felt like they both deserved this after the rollercoaster of emotions of this night. Jack could feel Jen immediately responding, her lips moving gently along his and her hands grabbing onto his arms. He pulled back and took her hands into his, before smiling at her. "Now was that so bad?" Jack couldn't help but tease her, he felt such a relief and elation at the turn of events that the tension needed to be eased - especially the one inside her. Jen laughed incredulously before shaking her head softly. "It could have been worse."
They looked at each other for a moment longer, and to strangers they probably seemed like two lovesick teenagers on their first date. Jack's thumbs moved gently along her skin, his hands still holding on to hers before he spoke up. "Come on, let's get you home, it's getting cold."
Jen nodded and Jack let go of one of her hands, his left hand keeping a hold of her right hand - he wasn't planning on letting go anytime soon. And they continued their way along the street, hand in hand, both of them having a soft smile on their faces.
