Ok I’m putting together my thoughts for what modern au characters wear based on the metas. I’ve got my ideas for Ed and simps (excluding Black Pete).

For Stede. See Ru Paul out of drag. That man is wearing a custom Klein Epstein & Parker at all times in the most eye numbing colors he can get it. He owns 30 minimum, and he has 2 options for shoes for each. His button up underneath these is always a different color from the suits but compliments them and is almost never white. I’m unsure about the tie situation I think he likes to switch it up tho.

For Ed, lots of Black leather obviously but I would like to argue that he goes for more of a gender fuck look than a leather daddy look, although he does dabble in both. I’m thinking mesh tops, a glitter beard for special occasions, lots of eye liner, and home made crop tops (ie regular shirts he cut into crop tops). He has one leather Jacket with spikes on it that he will wear until it falls apart. Before he meets Stede he had one pair of Doc Martins that were super scuffed but then Stede introduced him to the idea of having different shoes for every outfit and now he owns 20 different pairs of Demonias. although he also has a leather daddy harness and hat that he pulls out for pride and he gets around exclusively by motorcycle that he has named unless someone else picks him up.

Calico Jack is one of those guys that goes around in a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and a fringe Jacket. But he also has an infinity scarf and secretly owns a pair of these and a cochella core fringe vest. He has not worn them out but when he showed Ed ed told him he looked hot so he’s thought about it. People keep assuming he’s a republican so he got a pronoun pin and an anarchist flag(the red and black one) pin to put on his cowboy hat. It has not fixed the problem.

Izzy is boring (read doesn’t like to stand out) and very concerned for his masculinity so exclusively wears he wears blue jeans and metal band teeshirts, many of which he got from being peer pressured by Ed when they were younger to hop the fence to get into shows without paying

What casual clothes the Twisted Wonderland cast would wear

@ferny-bread made a post asking what kind of modern clothes the Twisted Wonderland boys would wear. So here's my 2 cents on the topic

Ace Trappola: Ace buys a bunch of affordable clothes in good quality that falsely make him look like a rich person. A lot of shirts but without a tie, he always leaves a few buttons open. Suit pants. Casual blazers. Polo shirts with the logos of famous brands but they're fake. The only expensive thing he buys are fancy watches.

Deuce Spade: Deuce buys very basic, single-colored t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies and usually wears a leather jacket on top of it. Always wears jeans and some type of sports shoe. But since we know of the pink leopard print outfit there's def some weird stuff in his wardrobe.

Trey Clover: Trey's outfit of the day is either "normal" or "Vil would teleport me to the 9th circle of hell if he saw me like this". There's a 50/50 chance he'll show up in regular pants and simple t-shirts and outdoor jackets but there's also the possibility you'll see him walking around in a cardigan his grandma, who can't knit, knitted for him and it has the largest threads and patterns mankind has ever seen and you close it by tying a knot into it. Or he'd wear those v-neck shirts for men that have this terrible white piece of cloth in the v-neck for no particular reason and it has stripes in colors that don't fit together at all. His shoes are cool 9/10 of times though

Cater Diamond: Lots and lots of college jackets and bomber jackets. Lots and lots of simple white t-shirts under said jackets. A ton of trendy, colored sunglasses with cool gradient colors. And a shit ton of cool baseball caps. Something like this:

Riddle Rosehearts: Riddle's mum is a Karen and a control freak and his clothes radiate exactly that, after all she buys them for him. Sweater vests. Polo shirts. Neat shirts with a perfectly done tie. If he's feeling dangerous today he dresses like Nick Wilde.

Leona Kingscholar: As a Leona simp I'd like to fulfill all of our dreams and say he dresses like a biker because it'd look absolutely gorgeous on him (I mean he already slays in the Savanaclaw dorm uniform) but we all know Leona has a terrible fashion sense so I gotta say he'd dress in a bunch of colors that hurt to look at, don't fit together and have patterns that people haven't worn in years. Basically his outdoor wear. He also always wears accessories. The rest of his outfit may suck but his necklaces, bracelets and rings sure don't. He manages to look like he buys all his clothes in a thrift shop but they're all expensive from famous brands. Also Leona might never be king of the Afterglow Savannah but he'd sure as hell be king of ugly sandals. I'm not even talking about his school uniform shoes, literally imagine the ugliest sandals you can think of; Leona would wear them unless they're colorful and tacky. Half the time he runs around in these tho:

Ruggie Bucchi: Three words - Vargas Camp Ruggie. If you ever went to a public school when you were like 12 or 13, chances are there was this one kid who dressed like Vargas Camp Ruggie. And if Ruggie wears casual clothes that is exactly what he looks like. He wears this type of scarf all the way from autumn to early spring and he has a bunch of hiking boots and owns jackets and bags that scream "ugly but practical". He'd wear everything the Jack Wolfskin online store has to offer except that he's too poor to afford brands like this so they're all fakes from beyond the border of the Afterglow Savannah that he found (or stole) on tourist street markets.

Jack Howl: Jack's fashion sense radiates "I'm young, athletic and in the military". Owns a lot of clothes with camo print. Lots of Cargo pants. And tank tops. He always runs around in tank tops except for when it's really hot which is the days where he won't wear a shirt at all. He also wears those metal necklaces you always see soldiers wear in movies idk if they have a specific name. Apart from that he wears typical sport clothes.

Azul Ashengrotto: It's Azul. Like, what do you expect, of course he dresses exclusively in suits. He also owns so many different fedoras it's insane.

Jade Leech: Nothing special, lots of basic black pants and single-colored cashmere sweaters. A bunch of turtlenecks too. But the fabric of his shirts always ends up being soft as hell.

Floyd Leech: See, Floyd is a wild card. You cannot possibly pinpoint a style for him because you'll never know what he shows up in today. It could be something perfectly fine like his outdoor wear but he could also greet you in platform crocs and a fur coat.

Kalim Al-Asim: Kalim is the type of guy who combines traditional with modern clothes. You'll always see him wear something traditional from the Land of Hot Sands, be it a shirt or an accessory etc. but he usually combines it with typical modern clothes. Kalim has a fairly good fashion sense so it always fits together well.

Jamil Viper: Same as in canon. Several variations of school uniform Jamil and PE Jamil. Ton of accessories. Sometimes single-colored shirts and bomber jackets. A lot of outfits that radiate "crying in the skatepark at 3am"

Vil Schoenheit: Another one you can't pinpoint but in a good way. Not only is Vil always up to date with the newest fashion trends, but he's a trendsetter himself. He casually wears so many different styles and he loves fashion in general so he doesn't settle for one specific style. Fact is he always slays. He usually wears heels though.

Rook Hunt: Hats. Rook wears pretty basic outfits which just draw more attention to his large variety of extraordinary hats (he does this on purpose). He owns anything from cowboy hats to Bavarian hats to baseball caps. And of course berets.

Epel Felmier: Ever since Chapter 5, Epel's wardrobe only has two types of clothing - "cute and frilly" and "dangerous person with knife who'd sell you drugs in a shady alleyway". He either dresses like the most adorable person you will ever meet or like a total delinquent.

Idia Shroud: Gamer and weeb merch. Large hoodies. Shirts with uncomfortable close-up shots of the faces of anime characters. Otherwise pretty much what he wears in canon.

Silver: Lots of denim stuff. Simple white t-shirts with colorful symbols and print on it. Nothing special but he's pretty fashionable.

Sebek Zigvolt: Idk why but lots of suit pants. Also Sebek owns so many comfortable hoodies istg. He loves sitting down in one of these and read a book. He also has a lot of turtleneck shirts. In winter he wears long trenchcoats and scarves out of wool. He also owns fake glasses for fashion purposes (and to look smart)

Lilia Vanrouge: Lilias fashion sense is about as good as his cooking skill. He will legit just go to a thrift shop and throw a bunch of things he likes together, no matter if they fit or not. You know how the people in the music video to Thrift Shop dress? This is what Lilia wears.

Malleus Draconia: You'd expect a guy who has no idea about trends or modern human society and who spent most of his long life locked up in a castle to be an absolute disaster when it comes to fashion but the thing is, Malleus is a strategic buyer. He knows he already struggles to blend in with humans and he's perfectly aware he has no idea what modern fashion trends are so he buys stuff he's already seen people wear at school. Simple t-shirts. Hoodies. Blazers. Suit pants. Shirts & ties. Sneakers. Cardigans. But as he's used to from Valley of Thorns traditions he buys all of this in all black so he definitely looks like an emo while being unaware of what an emo is. He does look fashionable though. He also loves long af big scarves (wrap them around him he'd be so happy)

and i would mostly agree. when mary vogt talked (briefly) about the men's wardrobes in an interview, she said

As for men, we tried to integrate a little bit of their past, but it also had to be simple and it had to look realistic. We did it based it on the comic, but the characters also had to look real, so we used simple colors like black, white and blue.

so it doesnt seem like there was that much of a distinction between the men's styles, and the principle was grounded by looking 'simple' and 'realistic', BUT she also mentions integrating the past, and joe used to be rich and nicky used to be a priest.

and like. imo you can see that a little bit. they wear almost the same exact outfits but there are these little dissimilarities almost every time

1. your resident gay uncles: regular button ups + trousers

2. tshirt and jeans

(tho note that joe's got those funny zipper details on his thighs while nicky's wearing regular jeans. plus nicky's shirt is loose while joe's is tight. and joe has those weird inside-out looking seams on his shirt)

3. The Jacket Look (neither of which we actually see in the movie)

but nicky's jacket is again looser, and while joe is wearing another leather jacket, nicky's jacket looks more like its meant to be warm than Cool Looking™. nicky's wearing (again) regular jeans but joe has on--

but anyways they both wear relatively Normal™ stuff, but joe's always adding a little pizzazz while nicky usually just seems to wear generic jeans, generic shirts, etc

IVE BEEN HAVING BRAINROT ABT MY AOT LOVES AND FALL TIME

I just know Mikasa would go on little apple picking dates and picnics with you, I know it!! we would get cider and hold hands and get dinner after when it's all cool and dark and maybe get a little tipsy and have a sweet makeout sesh back at our apartment.

and Eren would do everything with me, from carving Jack-o-lanterns to costume shopping.

Levi would go on Autumn walks with me and we could sip cider and admire the trees. Armin... we have to admit he's a fall lover too. c'mon Mie, you know it's true.

I also think Annie and Jean are very honorable mentions! Scary movie binges and flannels, pumpkin spice flavored drinks/scented candle addictions? I think yes.

Mikasa lovesss all the “cheesy” kinda dates, so apple picking and hay rides and getting cinnamon apple donuts together are her favorite fall activities. No because getting drunk off of hard cider with her and just lazily stumbling back to her apartment and making out while you’re still all bundled up and cozy… that’s the dream right there. Giggling in between kisses because you both realize you’ve been kissing for like fifteen minutes and she’s still got her mittens on.

Eren loves everything Halloween related, so he’s down for all the haunted houses and spooky attractions. Surprisingly good at pumpkin carving too, albeit very messy when clearing out the inside of the pumpkin; but once it gets to making the face, he’s very concentrated and detail-oriented. Definitely cuts a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin after to put it on his head pls. Eren’s also a pumpkin spice kinda bitch, catch him at Starbucks at least thrice a week getting his psl.

Levi loves the season—thinks the pumpkin spice thing can be overdone, but likes to indulge in it nonetheless. He likes cooking with pumpkin tho, and it’s his favorite time of year to start making soups and stocks and he’ll even make his own pumpkin spice purée for muffins and loaves. You’ll come home to the house smelling like cinnamon because he’ll have a pot of fresh, warm cider on the stove ready for you. Plus, there’s the sight of Levi in those not so fluffy, but still warm and form fitting turtlenecks this time of year.

Armin… he does the cozy boy, smart looking, light academia look the best this time of year (because it’s actually weather appropriate for once). He likes swearing sweaters and seeing you in them too, likes it when it gets a little chillier because he thinks you look cute all bundled up. Coffee isn’t his thing, but he likes spiced teas and likes to take advantage of that in-between weather when it’s just chilly enough to still sit outside without being too cold, so that he can enjoy the warmth of his drink to its fullest.

Jean isn’t so much into haunted houses and themed Halloween fairs, but he’s always down for a good Halloween movie. He prefers to stay inside, uses the weather as an excuse to get you to cuddle up to him and watch some cheesy looking horror movie with terrible effects that’s not scary in the slightest, just so you guys can talk shit and drink coffee throughout. His fall fashion is fantastic tho, lots of flannels, turtlenecks, chunky boots that make him even taller even tho he doesn’t need the extra height, and this one leather jacket that’s a little worn but adds to his look.

Annie’s not so much into the attractions, none of them really scare her lol, but what he does like is the food and the smell. If you saw her at Target with six of the same cinnamon apple scented candles in her cart then no you didn’t. She loves a good apple cider donut, and she’ll pull you towards any stand or vendor in sight selling them to get a taste. She’ll never admit it, but she totally loves watching scary movies with you just to have you cling to her a bit.

okay okay okay so warren is bi and definitely dresses in a way that is just like. insanely bisexual i am talking those printed button up shirts but like you wear em tits out y’all know what i’m talking about he looks very california for the record like he’s got the long blond hair the print shirts definitely has like those sweatpant shorts shorts that are sweatpants i would say warren is simultaneously big on color but like also like. all his kind of jackets and stuff are going to be like monotone pullover hoodies in like white and grey and black. he’s wearing a super loud pattern underneath, but it’s giant hoodie, so you can’t really tell. and it’s not like he’s fashion conscious or whatever it’s mainly like the rule of thumb you look in the mirror and say okay do i look fuckable today and if the answer is yes u r ready to go!! he’s also definitely 100% worn this outfit before

APPEARANCE: 6’2, and by virtue of her height is the second tallest Xiaolin Dragon (second only to Clay, and even then it’s pretty close).

Floofy blonde hair. It is usually worn long but it is currently cut short with parts of it dyed forget-me-not blue. Tan skin. Brown almond-shaped eyes. Often wears a black toque/beanie, and has a taste for punk, grungy, and “woodsy” type fashions like leather jackets, plaid, distressed denim, etc.

Current outfit is as follows: Long sleeve black shirt with Canadian maple leaf design. Plaid overshirt. Ripped jeans, black socks and black boots. Fingerless black gloves. Single piercing on her nose, multiple piercings in her ears, and a forest green jacket with brown fur lining on the hood. Jacket is designed to make the wearer look like a wolf. This is Timber’s trademark jacket and her most recognizable article of clothing.

When visiting a new place, Timber will build or draw an inukshuk and take a photo of it to commemorate the occasion. She has been doing this since she was small, and she continues this ritual in honor of the loved one who taught her how to do this.

Her real name Tapeesa means “arctic flower” in the Inuktituk language, but most people know her as Timber. Earned the nickname ‘Timber’ from her father when she made a tree fall as a young girl due to her Wood elemental powers revealing themselves. Answers only to the name ‘Timber’ in his memory.

Really loves blueberries. She likes all food and eats like a starving animal but she gravitates to blueberries and blueberry flavored things. Her trademark favorite food though is blueberry pancakes with blueberry jam, as per her father’s recipe.

Inexperienced in actual combat, but with enough raw power and natural talent that exceeds even Raimundo and Omi’s Shoku-level abilities, Timber Wilde is cunning, powerful, creative, and above all, unpredictable.

Timber Wilde is also currently the owner of the Crown of the Monkey King, the most dangerous Shen Gong Wu in existence. What’s more, she is also the faithful and long-suffering servant, student and sometimes host of the evil that resides in it.

She’s 100 percent into nerds tho. Nerds and angry types and red hair and blue eyes. All she wants is to be topped by someone smarter than her. She just needs a feisty bookworm who can put her in her place and teach her things.

CHARACTER MOST LIKELY TO KILL THEM: Everyone is out to get Timber but sadly her worst enemy is in her own head. Literally. He’s in her HEAD.

She also has learned one more technique from Sun, one that allows her to “borrow” another person’s power for her own.

WHY SOMEONE MIGHT LOVE THEM: Despite her many flaws, Timber Wilde isn’t that bad of a person. Deep down underneath her tough, nihilistic, cold exterior, she’s just a sweet, silly, mischief making teenager who just needs and wants a friend. She is a dreamer. She is an artist. Though she has long since lost faith in people she still has an eye for beauty and finds it everywhere in the world around her. She thirsts for adventure and wants to live life to the fullest and experience everything the unknown has to offer.

At her best, Timber Wilde is a lively, incredible, inspiring soul who is passionately devoted to everything and everyone she loves. She will go to the ends of the earth for anything and anyone she cares about, even if it costs her her own life.

WHY SOMEONE MIGHT HATE THEM: Timber Wilde is a deeply complicated person who has a lot of inner pain and fears. And like a certain other redhead, these feelings cause her to lash out at the world around her in less than ideal ways.

Timber lies. Timber keeps secrets. Timber can get very defensive when you poke past the casual front she tries to keep up and start asking her real questions. She has a loose sense of morals, and a survivalist mindset. She doesn’t reach out to other people. She doesn’t trust other people. In fact, the only person she puts her faith in is an evil entity trapped within the Shen Gong Wu she wears on her head. And because of his influence, her view of reality is severely warped.

She genuinely believes she has no real place in this world amongst other people. She genuinely believes everyone is out to get her and that everyone disappoints each other eventually and to make yourself vulnerable or to have faith in others is to invite hurt and heartbreak. And despite the fact that she holds her own needs and desires above everyone else’s, she thinks very, very lowly of herself.

She cannot forgive herself for past mistakes. She cannot let go of what’s already gone. She blames herself for the fate of her family and the untimely demise of the most important person in her life and this has taken a severe emotional and mental toll on her. And due to this loss, she has ONE goal in life that she chases after with all her heart and soul, and the way she tunnel visions in on her mission often means she leaves others to the wayside, though not always without guilt or regret.

Timber is....complicated. Like a wildfire, she burns and burns and burns, and each and every day she burns a little more out of control than before.

But fires don’t burn because they want to hurt people. Fires burn because they don’t know how else to keep from going out.

Timber Wilde knows her actions have consequences. But seeing no better options, she forces herself not to care. She lies to everyone, including herself.
