i have nothing against alicia vikander, i don’t. but knowing they’re using her for lara voice overs for the TR live experience is. frustrating. it’s like using t.om h.olland for an uncharted event when nolan north is right there. 

when i think of survivor lara, i think camilla. her voice and the inflections in her voice acting are so so unique to lara. i watched the TR movie and the fact that i do not remember it at all is just an indication that alicia did not leave the impression she should have as lara croft, ( see a.gelina j.olie for example, who is ICONIC in her movie role ) 

so imagining myself at the TR live experience ( i still hope to go ) , hearing alicia’s voice will be like hearing a stranger. it’s very disappointing. ESPECIALLY when we’ll also get voice overs from jonah and the new character who will be introduced in the anime. so like, this is not a unified verse lara. this is survivor lara. without her own voice.

I do understand that some people like pure evil villains and that’s fine. no-one is taking the 1959 maleficent away from you.

but one thing that will always rub me the wrong way about this whole “women can be evil too!!!! don’t soften them!!!” is like yeah. society makes women out to be pure evil all the fucking time if they don’t do what society thinks they should or they get a lot of attention.

do you know how many lies have been told in the tabloids and by mostly men that just don’t like her about a.ngelina j.olie herself, to try and make her look like satan’s reincarnate? lies about b.rad p.itt and the kids and her relationship with them? just because she’s famous and they know it’s easy to get people to turn against her just because she’s a woman?

it’s not anti-feminist to make a woman everyone thought was pure evil be morally grey and show the trauma she went through and that she has a softer side. it really isn’t. it’s making her a more three-dimensional character. where people got the idea it’s anti-feminist for women to have a soft side I don’t know but it needs to end right fucking now.

yup! in the span of two minutes, she was a way better lara than a.ngelina j.olie. was during the course of two feature films. 

srsly. this commercial was the one of only two good things to come out of the AOD era. the other was AOD’s soundtrack (which was actually amazing and way too good for this shitpile of a game.) 

i almost used Vergara for my Classic!Lara’s faceclaim, tbh. it was between her and Rhona Mitra; but i opted for the latter. because RHONA. <333

I’ve been on this blog for six months and it’s been a whole month since m2 has been released!

I just wanna thank everyone whose been here for me for the past six months, and for those that thought of me when they went to see it bc you rock ❤️

and I know I haven’t been as active as I used to be but aurora is always going to be a massive part of me, as is m1 especially. It helped me through a very rough time bc I was so unhappy and after I saw it, I became a major a.ngelina j.olie fan and her kid s.hiloh helped me learn to be happier bc she helped me accept my gender nonconformity / nb-ness. I was also born with a condition that leaves me infertile, and a.urora and m.aleficent are important to me for that reason / helped me become a fierce advocate for adopted families.

I have met some amazing people through this blog too and I love all of you who have been here for me, through all of my impatience before m2’s release and all my freaking flailing after it was finally here. You all mean the world to me and here’s to another six months 💖💙
