Jordan and Declan Lynch from Call Down The Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater 💛
IT’S FINALLY DONE!!! I DID IT 💪🏼😭
Now I know it wasn’t a healthy decision to try to make a fan art inspired by J. C. Leyendecker illustrations when color and light have never been my forte. However! Reading Call Down the Hawk is the reason why I came back to the ✨arts✨, so you can imagine how good a book has to be to have that impact on me.
Also, I know this art piece has some mistakes when it comes to lighting and color, but I decided to share it the way it is now, because I know how obsessive I am when it comes to being perfect, and If I had chosen to try to make it perfect, I would probably never have shared it.
So here it is!
Jordan and Declan live freely in my heart, and I’m excited to read the next book. 💛💛💛

More samplings from "J. C. Leyendecker & American Masculinity". On exhibit from May 5th to August 13th, 2023.
In relation to the text on the banner, it's also interesting to note that according to a credible art historian and creative director who did a panel related to the exhibit, Leyendecker uniquely had ownership of his images written into all his contracts. This meant that the company licensed one-time or limited-time usage for the work-for-hire image and sent the original back to Leyendecker.
