You said you saw a lot of fics where the ship falls apart after Izzy leaves, could you recommend me some?

I have to be upfront while it is a trope it’s rarely the sole focus of the fic, rather it’s usually included via throw away pieces of dialogue or brief sections, bc typically stories tend to follow Izzy’s journey more. So I have yet to find a fic where I am personally fully satisfied with this specific trope being addressed. I also have yet to see a fic where Izzy leaves and doesn’t get kidnapped.

That being said I do have recommendations: (bc these are Izzy centric do mind the tags)

This one is a classic. It follows the trope pretty darn close. Izzy and Ed get kidnapped. Stede and the crew have to learn to work without them:

This one is a sorta roundabout ver of the trope bc it’s a canon divergence au where Stede captures Izzy before meeting Ed but it still follows the format of Izzy being captured/ him showing the crew that they actually do need to do their jobs/ Ed realizing how much work Izzy does for him:

Izzy doesn’t leave in this one but it centers around the crew recognizing his abilities:

Of the fics I have bookmarked these are probably the ones that follow the trope most closely, but I know I’ve definitely read more that involve the trope to varying degrees. My advice for searching for these types of fics yourself; generally any fic that has to do with Izzy getting kidnapped will involve this trope in some way. Kidnapping is a tag you can search though it will take some digging. Another thing about this trope is it usually falls under the slowburn category so long word counts are also something to search by/ look out for.

And here are some recs that have some elements of the trope sprinkled in there (if my memory serves):

Deals with Izzy being heavily sought after and he does get sort of kidnapped at some point, at least the crew and captains think he does:

Update on my blog!

Hi everyone <3

As the months have gone by, you may have noticed that I’ve posted less and less frequently about Monster High, and I’ve been reposting/making other content for things that I’ve been passionate about recently. I just wanted to come on here and update you on what’s going on with my blog.

Especially because of how active I was in the g3 MH fandom (providing access to links and posting frequently about my favorite characters), I thought it important that I update all the monster high fans that have been interacting with my account for the past few years. You’re all so so wonderful, and I intend to continue to engage with your content and remain your friend/mutual.

To clear things up before I continue��� I will still be posting the g3 MH episodes! And my episode list will continue to remain as my pinned post, making it accessible for everyone. Because of my interest being focused on other things, I may require a little bit of support from you guys in finding links to the episodes when they release. You all have already been super helpful and supportive when it comes to sending me episode links, and I would love if you could continue to do that for me as more episodes come out <3

I know of other mutuals that explore different fandoms aside from Monster High, so what I am doing is in no way unusual. I absolutely love hearing what my mutuals are passionate about outside of our shared interests. But I still wanted to update you all. Especially since my blog (for years) was solely focused on Monster High. Things may be a little bit different, but I’m still the same ‘ol me! I still love Monster High, and I’ll be watching the new episodes when they release <3

For anyone who may be curious (if you haven’t already noticed), I’ve gained an interest in the indie animation series The Amazing Digital Circus, and will likely be posting a lot about that. This may result in a change to my profile picture/name/etc (but I’ll have the same username, no worries. Just look for bluebelleisabelle… I like to keep things consistent lol). At this point, I consider my blog to be multi-fandom, with a particular focus on TADC right now. I promise I’m still the same person, and I absolutely adore all the MH mutuals I’ve met. I’d love to continue chatting with you all! Never hesitate to reach out :)

I’d considered making a separate blog for TADC, but I’ve heard that sometimes issues can pop up with having more than one blog. I didn’t want to risk any one of my blogs being deleted or something. Mainly, I’m using my blog as a space for me to post about things I’m really passionate about, and for you to come along with me for the ride. really love this video by @talistheintrovert about the finale of our flag means death season 2

they did a far better job of articulating how izzy’s death can be both heartbreaking and devastating and also not inherently problematic. as well as being extremely compassionate when talking about how media can hurt you deeply, but that doesn’t mean the writer is wrong or that it’s bad.

anyway just highly recommend if you wanna know how i feel about izzy’s death and the ofmd s2 finale overall. or just want some good video essay analysis on the topic.

So I started watching OFMD and I’m going to be so fr, I wish I watch this way sooner. I’m not finished with season 2 yet, I’m almost am but I gotta I love me silly chaotic pirates. (Also I can see why it compared to Good omens in some ways, but also I love how OFMD is so different than most pirate shows or any shows in that matter.)

But I do recommend my mutuals if they read this to watch it, it pretty good. I not sure if I’ll do a full review maybe I might. But I can say, it a pretty good and funny show. Maybe might heal after the heartbreak from Good Omens season 2?/hj
