Hashirama is hitting a lot of Katherine's beats but Tobirama gets to be her fr so he's a new character entirley. The heir to the paper buisness over Tobirama, who's activley fighting w their dad over the strike n shit. He can be their inside guy later while Tobirama takes to the streets to support the strike and Madara

Izuna as Medda Larkin but like WAY less successful bc otherwise Madara's situation wouldn't make as much sense. So he's just a decently popular show girl but like, there's no sugar daddies lining up for him like Medda got

Kagami as a cross between the characters of Crutchy and that one random little kid who sometimes is around (I don't remember his name sorry)

Hikaku is that one newsie I also forget the name of who gives Jack (Madara) that pep talk that one time

It ends w Hashirama taking over the newspaper from their dad and also hashiizu (Izuna finally gets that rich husband, good for him)

Meanwhile madara and tobirama are for sure angrily making out w eachother (is it even madatobi if they aren't mad about it? No, it isnt)

Kind of dark!Hashi but idk how far I'd lean into it. He's definatley not as gentle as he seems tho— Tbrm is the only other person aware of it but they grew up together so he's immune to the "Oh hey what the fuck actually!" factor and Izuna is NOT.

Madara thinks Izuna crazy and p much everyone takes Izuna being weird ab Hashi as his 'usual' Senju paranoia but it really isn't actually, there's something legitimately wrong with that man

Scene where tbrm is like "you know he thinks you're clinically insane, right?" And Hashirama just goes "I know!!! Isn't it so cute?? :DD" and Tbrm sighs bc no. No it isn't.

Izuna and Tobirama finally bond bc after Hashirama does some crazy shit, Izuna looks Tobirama directly in the eyes and goes "I'm so sorry about ur brother" and Tobirama feels weirdly validated after years of being the only one to truly understand his brothers specific brand of insanity

~Izuhashi/Hashiizu canon pliant perhaps ~Stuck in a tight space/ closet scene ~Hashirama (20) while Izuna (18)

Izuna and Hashirama stuck in a closet area with nothing but their lightest gear, {both were assigned the same assassination assignment without their respective fathers knowing the other was onto it. Hashi took it because Tobirama was getting actually sick for not catching a break, and Izu does it since Madara told him it's a light-hearted one and his healing knee won't strain that much if he's desperate for some field action. Both clans at least agree they want X clan gone}.

It's getting so damn hot and Hashirama tries to laugh it off while having an internal crisis not to traumatize this specific person who's sitting on him, allowing the gloved arms to find purchase on his shoulders {as quiet as possible he hopes}. Izuna on the other hand is audibly telling him there's nothing to laugh about their situation while also having his own internal crisis that maybe the Senjus are born from giants, {he contemplates that a 2 year age difference shouldn't be that apparent!}. He stares below on Hashi's flushed face and he looks like a kicked puppy to him, his arms finally laying a gentle grip on his waist {his squirming had made him rather frigid too}. For some time, he allows it, and so eases off on the defense.

Rest up to imagination. I just like stuck/ closeted scenarios and Hashiizu/Izuhashi, damn, damn that's interesting. {Bonus point if both are the same height which makes it extra difficult for Izu to wrap his brain around the other's physique}.

Exterior POV:

Izuna uchiha, and hashirama senju been married for quite a while together. And they had already had a relationship for 4 years before their marriage. Izuna should have been prepared for what hashirama might have asked of him. And he'd been thinking about it for quite a while now. he was not the kind of man to like children, he liked them of course, but he was not responsible for having one. So when hashirama came back in a good mood, finally more than usual radiant. He had panicked a little.

Hashirama: Izuna~

izuna: hashirama, you're in a good mood, he said coming out of the kitchen.

Hashirama: Honey, I've been thinking.

Izuna: Are you okay?

Hashirama: I've never felt so good, Izuna hummed softly at that, I went to see Tobirama and Obito after work.

izuna: how are they?

Hashirama: pretty good, Madara was there with Itama too, Izuna squinted a little, we didn't invite him, kawarama and itachi couldn't come.

Izuna: Why didn't you tell me? I had finished my service early today.

Hashirama: We talked... and uh I wanted their opinion before telling you about it.

The two men returned to the kitchen calmly. Izuna, continued the dishes he had put aside a while ago. Hashirama took a glass of orange juice then sat down before resuming his story.

hashirama: do you know that Tobirama and obito adopted? Itama and madara are also starting the process... While kawarama and itachi have been doing it for a while.

izuna: uh yes, Izuna had already thought about the children, it's true that they married later than the others, so he found it normal to wait a little longer.

Hashirama: I wondered if you wanted one.

izuna: Well, I had already thought about it, to tell the truth, it's true that we got married a little late, and that we had to find a bigger house.

Hashirama: so you agree!?

Izuna: Yes of course, we have a garden for him to enjoy, and the money to take care of him.

hashirama: izuna, I didn't know you liked them so much!

Izuna: I was a little reluctant, but if we take care of it together, we can educate them well.

Hashirama: I'm moved, he started whining.

Izuna: I'm not working on Friday, we could go see this little baby.

hashirama: oh you don't know how I can't wait to pamper and love them.

Izuna: We'll be a good father.

Hashirama: Thank you, thank you Izuna!! I can't wait to take them out on a leash, of course we have to see what you prefer too.

izuna: wait what?, Izuna has never felt such a cold shower in all his life, what hashirama talked about.

Hashirama: I've always wanted to have animals and you're even saying that you'll be their father, I'm moved.

Izuna: an animal?

hashirama: tobirama and madara say i can't take care of this alone! They are wicked fortunately that their adorable husband believes in me! You know since I saw Obito and Tobirama with their cute cat, it made me want to have some too.

izuna: and Kagami...?, Tobirama and obito had a kid! Itachi and kawarama has three. And Madara and Itama want a girl... Don't tell me!

Hashirama: Kagami? Obito doesn't want him to be a turtle until he is 8 years old.

Izuna: Hashirama, did you talk about animals?

hashirama: what else do you want me to talk about?

Izuna: children! I'm talking about hashirama children, no fucking animals!!

Hashirama: But the animals are nice, he's already whining about his fate.

Izuna: I don't care about your critters!! I wanted children with you! I don't like animals anymore, hence the why and how we don't have any in the first place!! If not, we would have had it for a while.

Hashirama: children...? Oh you wanted some?

Izuna: I hate animals. now you are going to sleep ON THIS FUCK SOFA FOR 1 MONTH!!!!

Hashirama: Ah... Can we talk about it?

Izuna: NAAAAAN!!

izuna and hashirama Friday morning we went to a pet store to buy Kagami's turtle which is celebrating its 8th birthday under the jealous gaze of hashirama and the killer of Izuna.

At first I was surprised by how little IzuHashi there is especially since HashiMada, MadaTobi and TobiIzu are all popular but then it occurred to me that Izuna and Hashirama don't ever really interact in canon, which is interesting since they're the people Madara was closest to.

It does make a bit of sense once canon’s taken into account. Izuna and Hashirama never really had the chance to interact, since Izuna died before the Senju and Uchiha finally ended the war.

Still, Senju Touka was there for maybe a whole panel in the manga? And there’s about two dozen more fics including the Touka/Izuna pairing than those including the Hashirama/Izuna pairing.

I think it’s just easier for people to default to the other really good Hashirama pairings, like the canon Hashirama/Mito and the almost-but-not-quite canon of Hashirama/Madara, since Hashi fits so well with those two and actually interacts with them. Though I full heartedly believe if Izuna had lived to see the village founded him and Hashirama would have had some sort of relationship - though whether it would be a rivalry, an eventual friendship, or romantic is up for debate of course.

And of course, Tobirama/Izuna’s gonna get lots of love, cause who doesn’t love the rival turned friend turned lover trope? xD

Until it gets more wide-spread, I’ll just be over here on the HashiIzu raft ship, paddling away - there’s always room if anyone wants to join me!

In some ways, HashiMito. Look, I’m almost never gonna be down for That Hetero Stuff, but they probably were a fairly happy couple. Mostly because I don’t think anyone with Hashirama could be miserable, he tries way too hard for that. That being said, there’s little to nothing on Mito, for all I know she was a colossal asshole or some generic, sweet woman. We just don’t know.

Mostly because I recently ranted about it: IzuHashi. Like, first of all, why do you want to hurt Madara like that but second, having recently discovered Izuna is evil incarnate (and I love him for it), it would be downright asking for Hashirama to become a broken man if put together with that devil. Madara is actually a marshmallow inside, so the same can’t be said about him. But Izuna? That boi will fuck you with a knife, no joke.

IzuHashi or IzuMito?

*jazz hands*  May I direct you over to the Izuna/Mito soulmate fic I wrote months ago and am still quite fond of? It was my first exploration into writing Izuna and Mito as individuals and I do think it turned out quite well! I’ve talking about IzuMito a bit with @elenathehun and it has some real potential to be either terrifying for others if they’re in agreement or potentially disastrous if they’re at odds because they’re both very strong willed and not necessarily that inclined towards compromise. Hard to tell for sure until I/Elena/someone writes more of it.

As for Izuna/Hashirama… heh. Hehehehehe. My first encounter with this pairing wasn’t even a proper encounter because it was a tag for a Russian fic which made me doubletake and laugh because how could it work? Like, canon Izuna’s last moments on screen were written down in the script as “liaaar liaaar, pants on fiiire, make sure the Senju all expiiire” before Kishimoto remembered that he wasn’t writing a musical and changed it to what you saw in the manga.  Izuna hates the Senju in general, Tobirama personally, and Hashirama religiously for being the manipulative ass that somehow got into his beloved older brother’s head.

… This means of course that I’ve already got a plan in mind for canon divergent IzuHashi. It consists of a one-sided admiration that is the bane of Tobirama’s life and drives Izuna incandescently furious with insult as he repeatedly tries to murder Hashirama and fails.

Hashirama thinks it’s endearing.

Madara thinks this is NOT what he imagined when they talked about a village at 13 Hashirama, what the fuck?
