What is open dinner?
During my exchange in Delft, Netherlands, i was living with 6 more people together in a house is called ZAB. There was a gathering is called 'Eettafel' on mondays where the house was open for everyone to eat, to drink, to socialize and to share everything. Every monday, a person from the house volunteerily would be responsible for cooking, guests would come with their drinks or even desserts and join the cooking session, dinner would be served when it is ready and the guests haven't helped with cooking, would be responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen. Rest of the evening would go with the flow; drinking, playing a game etc. All the guests would give some tip for the meal and kitchen expenses. After i returned to Istanbul, i opened a group on facebook, added people who would be interested and invited them. After a month, i could see all my friends that i barely see, catch up with them, meet some new people and try out new recipes. Then i moved to Izmir, so did the open dinner. In izmir, the concept has changed a bit  as we grew bigger: after a year of gathering at home, now, we visit different places to eat together, organise open dinners to create a homely atmosphere. We also  organise other social gatherings all together.
