Reenas und Avas geklaute Probleme sind uns bekannt: "Ich habe schlimmen Liebeskummer. Er wohnt leider in einer anderen Stadt." und "Ava wurde ihre Freundin Lilly geklaut. Lilly ist ein Fahrrad. Ihr Bruder ist Schuld."

Wir erhalten aber auch einen Einblick in die Sorgen einiger anderer Internatsbewohner*innen:

"Ich habe panische Angst vor Spinnen" Das wird dann wohl Casper gewesen sein. (Auch wenn die Angst nicht so panisch gewesen sein kann, wenn er sich innerhalb von 10 Sekunden von Reena dazu überreden lässt, die Spinne IN DIE HAND ZU NEHMEN! naja, egal..)

Neben Spinnen scheinen aber auch Hunde ein großes Thema für die Einsteiner*innen zu sein:

"Ich vermisse meinen Hund Charlie :( Er ist bei meinen Eltern" "Ich habe Angst vor zu großen Hunden" "Ich habe mein Hund verloren und bin traurig" VERLOREN?!??

Wir könnten noch hinzufügen: "Mein geheimes (illegales) Hundeversteck ist aufgeflogen und jetzt wurde mir mein Hund weggenommen." oder "Mein Hund mag meinen Mitbewohner lieber als mich..."

Und dann haben wir noch einen Haufen (mal mehr, mal weniger interessante) Probleme:

"Ich habe panische Angst vor Vorträgen"

"permantent muss ich auf meine Freunde warten" same

"Ich mache mir ständig Sorgen" SAME

"Ich bin unzufrieden mit mir"

"Ich hatte einen schlimmen Albtraum. Ich habe ihn erzählt und wurde ausgelacht. Das hat mich sehr verletzt." ähm hallo? was ist aus "einer für alle, alle für einstein geworden"??

"Ich wollte [nie] auf ein Internat. Was, wenn ich keine Freunde finde?" das könnte honestly noah in disguise sein; er würde es nur nie zugeben.

"[Mein]e Eltern [sind] sehr gläubig, [ich] aber nicht. Soll und kann ich ihnen das [sag]en?" das wäre actually mal wieder ein interessanter plot für schloss einstein! main character in staffel 28 confirmed?

Insgesamt standen auf den Zetteln tatsächlich weniger spannende Geheimnisse, aber dafür erstaunlich viele sehr sehr traurige Gedanken. Geht es irgendjemand auf dem Einstein da gut? Sollte Frau Schiller vielleicht endlich ihren Job mal wieder vernünftig machen, statt sich um ihren Social Media-Kanal zu kümmern?

Zusatz: Ich weiß immer noch nicht, wie es dazu kommt, dass die Zettelchen plötzlich an den Wänden kleben.. Bildet Chiara sich die nur ein, weil sie von ihrem schlechten Gewissen verfolgt wird? Karma? Oder möchte Sirius Chiara eine Lektion erteilen und hat die Zettel an die Wand geklebt? Wahrscheinlich werde ich nie eine Antwort bekommen.

I had so much fun translating the Tiger Poem that I’m back for more!

This time, I’ve coloured the glyphs to make them easier to separate into words. Teal is for verbs, as well as green if there are 2 verbs in a row. Red is for nouns, with red/brown specifically for names. Yellow is for adjectives, pale blue for prepositions. The center diagrams show the order to read the characters.

“He’s so perfect,” you sighed dreamily, eyes glued to the TV screen.

Your best friend giggled from the couch behind you. “I can’t believe you fell in love with an anime character. I didn’t even know that was possible.”

You frowned, glancing back at her. “I’m pretty lame, huh?”

“I wouldn’t go that far,” she shrugged. “‘The heart wants want the heart wants’, you know?”

“I guess,” you took one last longing look at Benedict Blue’s beautiful face on the screen before pressing the power button on the remote.

“Hey, I know! Let’s walk around Spell Alley,” her eyes lit up as she grabbed your shoulders.

Spell Alley was aptly named – it was a one-lane road with various shops lining either side. Magic, voodoo, shops specializing in the paranormal… of it was readily available there. During the month of October, it was especially crowded with people looking to get spooked and make fun of how serious the shop owners tended to be.

Nikki whistled, eyes scanning the crowded street. “I knew it would be packed, but damn.”

“Should we go home?” you questioned.

“No way!” she grabbed your arm and tugged you into the throng of people. You did your best to avoid bumping into others as she dragged you toward one of the shops on the right. The sign above read ‘Mal’s Voodoo’.

A bell above the door dinged as the two of you stepped inside the empty shop, the strong smell of incense filling your nostrils. The shop was dark, lit up only by cream-colored candles hanging from the ceiling and the afternoon sun peeking through the tinted window. Shelves were lined with candles, bones, crystals, oils and various other strange items.

“May I help you?” A heavyset woman seemed to appear out of thin air, a kind smile on her face.

“Yes, ma’am!” Nikki returned the smile. “We’re looking for a spell to help out my friend.”

The woman’s eyes met yours and you shifted nervously; it felt like she was staring straight into your soul. She took your hands into both of hers. “Tell me, dear. What does your heart most desire?”

Instantly, Benedict popped into your mind.

Her brown eyes flashed with understanding and she hummed. “I see. I believe I can help you with your problem.”

You and Nikki exchanged a look before watching the woman as she flitted around the shop, picking up various items before setting them on the counter by the register and disappearing through the door behind it.

You tugged on Nikki’s sleeve, lowering your voice. “Are you sure about this?”

She gave you a thumbs up and a grin. “You worry too much! If it works, you get yourself a beautiful new bae and if it doesn’t, we only lose some cash, right?”

The woman stepped through the door and approached you. “I can perform a ritual for you. If he is truly what your heart wants most in this world, the spell will work.”

“And if it doesn’t?” you asked, scared of the answer.

“If it doesn’t, you will be contaminated by the failed spell and will become more susceptible to dark magic and curses.”

Your heart started to thump loudly in your breast. Someone was screaming at you to turn tail and run away, but your feet stayed rooted to the spot. Nikki also seemed less confident than she had a moment before.

“The choice is, of course, yours, Y/N.” She gave you an encouraging smile laced with sadness before heading to the counter.

You swallowed, lowering your voice as you met Nikki’s wide eyes. “How does she know my name? You never said it…”

“I-I don’t know… do you… do you want to go through with this?”

The thought of being ‘contaminated’ by dark magic terrified you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to leave the shop. No one had ever made you feel the way the fictional Benedict does. No one had ever been able to make you feel the level of happiness he does. You wanted, more than anything, to hear his voice, to touch his milky skin and run your hands through his blonde hair.

You met the woman’s eyes and her lips tugged up into a knowing smile. Your body moved on its own, approaching her. “I’ll do it. Just tell me what to do.”

“Go home and let the thought of him consume you. Let him overcome your every waking thought. I will do the rest.” She patted your hand.

“Wait, that’s it?” Nikki questioned, raising a brow. “And how much do we owe you for this?”

“If the spell should work, you can come back and pay your due.”

The two of you walked home in silence, the light of the full moon beaming down on you from a clear night sky. As the woman had requested, your thoughts were dominated by Benedict. His clear blue eyes, his messy blonde hair, his slim figure. You wondered what his lips would feel like pressed against your own. You pictured the two of you walking hand in hand, running errands like a couple.

From the dumb look on your face, Nikki could tell what you were thinking. Her words didn’t reach you as the two of you parted ways.

You entered your home and watched the anime for the hundredth time, waiting for any scene where Benedict appeared. Every time he did, your heart would start to pound violently and butterflies would erupt within your stomach. You fell asleep slumped against the floor with a goofy smile on your face.

A groan passed your lips at your stiff body. Sleeping on the floor certainly wasn’t one of your best ideas, not like you had actually planned it. You sat up, stifling a yawn as you stretched, trying to relax the tightness in your neck and back. You were about to head into the bathroom when the heavenly smell of cooking bacon wafted from the kitchen. Your brow furrowed, ‘Is Nikki here?’

You stepped into the kitchen curiously, eyes landing on a tall man standing in front of the stove. Your heart started to race as you tried to figure out the best way to handle this intruder. You took a quick step back but your foot caught on the rug and you hit the ground with a yelp of surprise and pain. Hearing the loud thud, the man whipped his body toward you, concern flashing across his features.

“Hunny, are you okay?”

That voice… you recognized it instantly and your eyes shot up, meeting the crystal blue eyes that belonged to Benedict Blue. His messy blonde hair falling across his forehead, long lashes, plump bottom lip, and slim figure… he was even more gorgeous in real life.

Tears filled your eyes. “The spell worked… it actually worked…”

“Spell? What in the world are you talking about?” he kneeled beside you, his thumbs wiping away your tears, palms warm against your cheeks.

You threw yourself at him, knocking his body back against the tiled floor, your arms tight around his neck and face nuzzling the skin beneath his ear. His arms fell around your waist protectively, hands clutching at your hips. He was so warm and he smelled of vanilla and cinnamon.

His warm breath tickled your neck when he spoke, his voice sending a chill down your spine. “What’s gotten into you? Did you have a nightmare?”

“I just… I love you so damn much, Benedict.”

He chuckled, gently pushing you back so he could rest his forehead against your own. “I love you, too, Y/N. You are my world,” his lips fell against yours and you thought your heart was going to explode from the pure happiness you felt. Your fingers tugged at his short hair, tongue rubbing against his bottom lip.

The smell of burning food made him pull away, breathing heavy. You watched him as he started to panic, trying to save the bacon, but it was burnt to a crisp and hard as a brick. You giggled when he pouted at you.

“I guess we’re not having bacon for breakfast…”

You pulled yourself to your feet, bringing your lips to hover over his. “I can think of something much better to have~”

He smiled brightly, his fingers digging into your hips as his voice became husky, eyes darkening with lust. “Do tell, hunny~”

Nikki sat at your bedside, tears flowing from her swollen and red eyes. It had been a week since she found you on the living room floor of your apartment, completely unresponsive. She had tried to wake you with no success. Panicking, she called an ambulance. You were in a coma and the doctor was unable to determine why. Without a cause, there was little they could do to help you.

She had gone back to Spell Alley the next day, determined to get answers or help from the woman, but the shop was completely empty. The only thing left behind was a piece of paper sitting in the middle of the floor with your name written on it exactly seven times. A red candle was lit in the center of it, a small stub of the tall wax it once had been.

She returned to the hospital, telling the doctor and anyone that would listen about the woman and the ritual, but no one believed the tale. The doctor said that it was the stress of the situation that was causing such illusions, that she was simply grasping at straws because no one could figure out what had happened to you.

Weeks turned into months.

Months turned into years.

But you never woke up from your coma, and the smile on your face never wavered.

Star Wars IX – The Rise of Skywalker ODER Zeit Erwachsen zu werden

Diese Review enthält einige milde Spoiler.

Ich weiß, dass ich damit jetzt einiges lostrete und vielleicht dem ein oder anderen auf die Füße trete, aber ich mag die neue Star Wars Trilogie. Klar es wurde mit einigem experimentiert, nicht alles davon ist gelungen. Viel Nostalgia-bait und 7457435633753 unterschiedliche Meinungen von Fans wie man die Filme eigentlich hätte machen sollen.

ABER die Leute die darüber diskutieren, dass "die letzten Jedi" der schlechteste Star Wars-Film überhaupt gewesen wäre, haben "Angriff der Klonkrieger" offensichtlich im Halbschlaf gesehen. Und wenn man Mal seine Erwartungshaltung und die überromantisierten Erinnerungen, ab ein Filmerlebnis aus früheren Jahren, das nie so war, wie man sich dessen erinnert, dann kann man mit "The rise of Skywalker" tatsächlich Spaß haben.

Ich mag die neuen Wege, die der Film geht. Ich mag es, dass er über große Stellen sehr düster ist und an Ridley Scotts "Alien" erinnert. Ich mag den Pay-Off der alten Figuren, vor allem den von Luke und Leia. Ich mag auch die neuen Figuren, besonders, wie man den Character-Arch von Ben Solo/Kylo Ren strukturiert hat.

Ich konnte mich sogar mit der Idee, Imperator Palpatine von den Toten aufzuwecken, anfreunden (was kein Spoiler ist, da es am Anfang des Films bereits enthüllt wird), denn es spannt einen stimmigen Bogen über alle 9 Episoden und verknüpft viele lose Enden.

Was ich nicht mag ist, dass in jedem neuen Star Wars Film die Superwaffe aus dem letzten Film übertrumpft werden muss. Ich mag nicht, wie vor allem in der ersten halben Stunde im Dialog ganz offensichtlich immer wieder Exposition eingestreut wird, obwohl diese Informationen nur für die Zuschauer und nicht für die Figuren relevant sind. Teilweise habe ich mich gefühlt, wie bei Raumpatrouille Orion. Aber realistische Dialoge, ohne Pathos, darin war Star Wars nie gut.

Zum Glück verbessert sich das im Laufe des Films. Dennoch schüttelt man den Kopf bei sinnfreien Phrasen wie "Luke hat sich Notizen gemacht in Glyphen, die ich nicht lesen kann. Auf jeden Fall steht hier..." Für diesen Satz hätte man den Script Supervisor feuern sollen oder generell Mal ab und an einige informationsleere Nebensätze streichen sollen, dem Film hätte es nicht geschadet.

Ich bin kein extremer Star Wars-Fanatiker, aber dass hinter diesem Universum einiges an emotionalem Bezug für mich steckt, sieht man wohl daran, dass das hier die längste Film-Review ist, die ich bisher veröffentlicht habe. Bei manchen Filmen oder Büchern merkt man das erst, wenn man über sie schreibt, weil man so viel zu sagen hat, dass einem Seiten ganz leicht von den Fingern gleiten, die man noch dazu an einem Handy-Bildschirm und nicht an einer Tastatur tippt.

Klar könnte ich jetzt auch darüber sprechen, wie das alles nur ein gigantischer Cash-Grab für Disney ist und einem Megakonzern noch mehr Geld einbringt, was teilweise unübersehbar ist, auch wenn man eindeutig merkt, dass stellenweise in der Produktionskette sehr viel Herzblut in die Sache gesteckt wurde. Es ist ein Wesenszug von Produktionen eines solchen Ausmaßes, dass nicht nur die künstlerischen Interessen eine Rolle spielen. Dieses künstlerische Interesse und die Liebe für das eigene Werk, dem Produktionsteam komplett abzusprechen, ist das Gejammer einiger arroganter Fans, die andere bei jedem Thema gerne als "Snowflake" bezeichnen, aber einen Nervenzusammenbruch bekommen, wenn ein Stormtrooper unter seiner Rüstung schwarz ist. Speziell verblödet sind die Verschwörungtheorien, über irgendwelche kulturmarxistischen Illuminaten und "Homo-Lobbys", von denen die Filme in "linke Propaganda" verwandelt worden seien.

Und während das neue Jahr mit einer weiteren drohenden Eskalation im Nahen Osten beginnt, mein 27. Geburtstag bald ansteht, ich so langsam selbst akzeptiere, dass die Kindheit so endgültig vorbei ist, ist es schön, trotzdem ein letztes Mal "a movie about space-wizards intended for children", wie es George Lucas so schön gesagt hat, zu sehen und ein bisschen von diesem alten Kribbeln im Bauch wieder zu erleben, ohne sich selbst einzureden, dass früher alles besser war, man war nur jünger und hatte weniger Verantwortung und es macht mich ein bisschen traurig, dass sich einige Menschen mehr über einen fiktiven Leinwand-Krieg im Weltall aufregen, als über das was täglich in den Nachrichten zu sehen ist.
