#iwaoi fifties au
Note
favorite au ideas for iwaoi and kiribaku??? also, do u ship tododeku?
Warning: I don’t know what being concise means, apparently.
Favorite Personal iwaoi AU idea: I have two AU in mind since forever and dammit, I should just draw or write them.
Fifties AU: Oikawa is the president of the student council (all megane for our needs), Iwaizumi the golden quarterback. Childhood friends that took different routes, only to realize that their friendship has always been love. But it’s the fifties, my guys. Also, a lot of boogie-woogie that booty. And as a bonus, Kuroo Danny Zuko Tetsurou (with Bokuto and Akaashi as best rebel pals) and Tsukishima Sandy Olsson Kei. But, only visually-wise. Bc Tsukki is savage and Kuroo a sweet dork.
Ballroom AU: Oikawa is the son of a ballroom teacher and ex-pro. When he was a child, he met this grumpy adorable boy in his mother’s school. They both took lessons, become inseparable friends, until Iwaizumi’s family had to transfer to another city. Oikawa continued dancing and eventually entered amateur competitions. Iwaizumi, instead, dropped. It’s only in high school that they meet again. Iwaizumi learns that Oikawa is taking a pause from competitions and has just started to do some minor teaching in his mother’s school. Iwaizumi is looking for a part-time job, and Oikawa is looking for someone to help him with the kids and gramps he teaches to. The deal is easily made. It’s during those lessons that they start to dance together. After all, they have to show to the students how things should be done. It’s only natural, right?“Iwa-chan, do you remember how to do that?” - “Of course I do. You, though, you sure you can do the female steps?”. Oikawa just snorts and goes so very beautifully into position.Eventually, Iwaizumi discovers why Oikawa dropped out of competitions. To teach, Oikawa had to learn the female part, and against all odds, he found out he likes it better. He likes better the graceful position, the flashy sequences, the following instead of the leading. He’s always been good at listening to his partner and enhancing her steps. But following, he feels like he can bring out the 100% even from himself. Once he tried, he couldn’t get it out of his mind. He found himself practicing in front of the school’s mirrors without even knowing how he got there. Of course, his partner noticed. At first, she only teased him, but soon she started feeling annoyed and lonely, and Oikawa with her. Then, he ended up blurting hurtfuls “you should do that this way”, “why can’t you do that, it’s so easy”. Their break up and the drop out from competitions came next. And obviously, Oikawa’s mother’s disappointment, too.But all of this doesn’t matter when Oikawa and Iwaizumi dance together, and they do that a lot. In dance halls, during lessons. They dance together, and they fit together. After all, dancing together is like being in a team, a team formed by two people on a dance floor, and Oikawa doesn’t feel lonely anymore. Iwaizumi reminds him that just by holding his hand, and he feels kind of invincible. Then, Oikawa’s mother sees them, dancing a waltz right after a lesson. She’s not pleased. She wants her son to compete and reach the top, he has the skills to do that. But she sees them. She has eyes, thank you very much. And there are other types of competitions. Sure, unofficial types, but same-sex couples can only take part in those. He can reach the top there, for now. They both can… with a little help, of course. “Hajime, for God’s sake, broaden that step! You have long legs, use them. Now again, from the start”.It soon becomes clear that Oikawa’s mother has expectations. Oikawa is thrilled. He knows she wouldn’t spend a minute over them if she thought they didn’t have a chance, and truthfully, she spends a lot of hours instead. So Oikawa is thrilled, while Iwaizumi cannot breathe. He tries to, he tries his best to make this work. He sees how much Oikawa is happy… but that’s the problem, isn’t it. In the end, he can’t do this thing, this partnership thing, and he tells Oikawa that much.“I’m saying I can’t dance with you anymore”. - “What? Why? We’re so good together!”. - “Oikawa, I’m homosexual”. - “… I’ve always known that, kind of”. - “You have, haven’t you. Hah. You also know that I’ve always had feelings for you? … Yeah. Of course not. I realized it myself only when we got apart. That’s how I realized I like guys, in the first place. But now I’m good. About us, I mean. I really just want that friendship we had when we were kids. You don’t know how much I’ve missed it. But I can’t be your partner, I can’t do this. You… you don’t see yourself when you dance. It makes me want to be your partner in every other way”.*MIC DROP*. Iwa-chan, “now I’m good about us” my ass.
(I’m a hopeless ballroom and boogie dancer, OKAY. And yeah, I can’t help but want iwaois as childhood friends even in AUs.Also, I’m so proud to say that here in ol’ conservative Italy, official competitions are open to same-sex couples. Strange, isn’t it?)
Favorite kiribaku AU idea: I’m so in love with the canon fantasy AU. It’s actually a fanfiction. I’ll never get past that blissful moment when the canon confirmed the fanon and dragon!Kiri bit my ass. But then, nearly all the canon kiribaku content is a freaking fanfiction, most of the time I’m just “wtf am I even reading, this is too gay to be real”. Anyway. Back to the point. I don’t have a personal kiribaku AU yet. Just a lot of canonverse ideas and hcs. But as soon as I think of one (and believe me, that’s going to happen) I’ll make sure to share it!
Do you ship tododeku? Oh, yup! Not one of my favorite, but I read so many kiribaku fics and tododekus were just there that I kinda take them for granted. I like izuocha too, tho, and todomomo. Actually, I don’t really mind any other ship in bnha (apart from bakudeku and kacchako). My otps are kiribaku first and kamijirou second, so these babies are off limits - I don’t do multiship with my otps. The other ship tho, I kinda like em all? Hah.
Thank you for asking, anon! :D

Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
(click here to read them all on my tumblr and not the dash)
1. It takes approximately forty-two minutes before Stiles can convince himself to get up off the loveseat where he’s happily squished between Danny and Isaac.  (love aka part 3 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn I wrote because of Catt)
2. “So.  What the djinn did to Dean in, what was it, season one?  Two?  Whatever.  Yeah totally legit.  Negative fifty out of ten.  Would not recommend.” (promise aka part 2 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn)
3. Hajime freezes when he hears the distinct sound of someone pointedly clearing their throat behind him.  (the 5+1 mistletoe kisses prompt)
4. Stiles’s phone lights up and he gives it a wary look when he sees the text notification on his screen.  He’s already been warned, by a few different people, that he would probably be getting a summons soon. (trust aka part 1 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn)
5. “There comes a day in every man’s li—”
The officiant is cut off by a loud cough and he takes a bracing breath, eyes fluttering.  (the magic in you aka KageUshiIwa magical fluff)
6. The sky is turning gray, clouds rolling in to cover up the sunset, when Kuroo finally turns to Shouyou and sighs.
“Call him.”
Shouyou snickers at the defeated tone of Kuroo’s voice but he pulls out his phone. (we’re in a parking lot somewhere aka KuroHinaDai something or other I’m writing)
7. It still hurts sometimes.  Not his wound.  It’s scarred up rather nicely.  As nice as a giant scar across half your face can be anyway. (a yet to be titled/plotted ATLA Zuko & Toph thing)
8. It starts early one morning —  mere minutes after the door has unlocked and the sign has scrawled itself into a brilliantly colorful OPEN complete with sparkles and tiny fireworks — not long after everything has started to quiet down.  (Well it had technically started years and years ago when they were all childish and stupid right little shits to each other but that’s a different story for a different day.) (only time will tell aka my Draco/George & Theo/Fred fic)
9.  Neville snaps his head up, instantly wary of Hermione and that tone of voice, and then flushes when he realizes what he’s done.  It’s Hermione after all.  She’s entirely too clever for her own good but she’s not some sneaky devious creature he has to watch his back around.  Though sometimes when she smiles the way she’s smiling now he remembers that, actually, yes she is a sneaky devious creature.  She just likes him enough that, for the most part, he doesn’t have to worry about watching his back around her.  (an untitled HP everyone comes back as professors fic)
10. Some things in life are certain.  They’re just going to happen no matter what, no matter how much you might try to prevent them.  So the smart thing to do would be to just go with the flow, right?  Just let the things happen and try not to stress over it.  Morisuke likes to think of himself as a fairly smart person.  So he’ll just take a few deep breaths and let it go, right?
Wrong.  (untitled TsukkiYaku fake dating fic)
11. Issei stumbles out of his bedroom and shuffles down the hall doing a really great impression of a zombie if you ask him.  He’s got the groans and the unsteady steps and the unfocused eyes and the inability to use higher brain functions like speech and decision making.  (my last first everything aka HanaMatsu slow burn mutual pining childhood friends to lovers)
12. The cauldron in the fireplace rattles and Daichi gives it an unimpressed stare. (cauldron bubble aka BokuDai magic accidental baby acquisition)
13. Tobio’s eyes cross as he tries to focus on the object dangling in front of his face.  He leans away from it and presses the back of his head against a warm stomach.
“Hello Iwaizumi,” he says.  (a place in the sun aka IwaKage fluff)
14. The cupboard under the stairs isn’t exactly the most comfortable place to be.  But if you are five and want to hear what the adults are talking about so seriously in the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld Place then, sadly, the cupboard it is. (matchsticks and dragon scales, year 1 aka my Harry Potter rewrite)
15. Hajime takes a sip of his coffee and sighs, ignoring the world around him for just a few minutes while he sits and at his table at Generic Coffee Shop and gets his morning dose of caffeine.  (roots and sky aka the IwaOi part of my childhood friends to lovers series, the dichotomy of you and me)
16. It’s two in the afternoon on a Tuesday and all Tadashi wants to do is go home and sleep.  Maybe for a week.  Maybe for a month.  He’s not too entirely picky to be honest. (stars and sea aka the YamaTsukki part of the dichotomy of you and me)
17. So.  Library.
Not exactly where he’d thought he’d be working when he was back in high school.  But it’s, objectively speaking, not the worst place he could be working.  Like sure it’s not quite as interesting as working at the aquarium like Watari.  But it’s also not as taboo sounding as working at a funeral place like Matsukawa.
So.  You know.  It’s not that bad. (past and future aka the KinKuni part of the dichotomy of you and me)
18. Tetsurou glances at the screen one last time before posting and immediately closing out of his browser and signing out of his email.  He shuts down his computer a moment later and stands with a quiet groan.  It’s been a shit day.  It’s not the worst Thursday of his life or anything like that.  Just.  A shit day.  All he wants to do is clock out and go the fucky doodle home.  Which is why he hurries past his boss’s office with his head down — he has the worst problem saying no when his boss asks him for things which is how he found himself with Social Media Coordinator tacked onto his business card a few months ago — and when he hear his boss’s door start to open he hurries a little faster and opts for taking the stairs down instead of waiting for the elevator. (body and soul aka the KuroKen part of the dichotomy of you and me)
19. Kei stretches idly as he waits for practice to start.  They’re already a few weeks into this year’s season but today they’re apparently waiting for their new team trainer.  Or assistant coach.  Or something.  He wasn’t entirely listening to the announcement from the captain yesterday.   (we’ll meet at the horizon aka my epic HinaTsukki slow burn)
20. He knows the moment the words leave his lips that he’s gone too far, that he’s made one too many jokes, said a few too many things he shouldn’t have.  He always screws up, is always too much for people to handle. ((don’t) write me an elegy of your past, love aka that AkaKuro & BokuDai fantasy au)
I have no idea if I have any patterns other than I go for humor, a lot.  And I can’t pick a favorite cause I love them all for different reasons.

IWAOI MOB AU Chapter 5
A King of A Different Kind: Mature (rating will go up)
Description: Iwaoi Mafia Au. Based off the Italian Mob structure not Yakuza. Iwa is the mob bosses son and he has some explaning to do. After being Oikawa’s childhood best friend and keeping his family’s buisness a secret Oikawa discovers the truth shortly after their college graduation. Oikawa decides an insane life with Iwaizumi is better than one without him and must now face the challenges of his life being turned completely upside as he dives head first into the world of criminals.
Sample Chapter 5 Below:
“I’m so sorry officer it won’t happen again!”
Mrs. Oikawa looked exasperated as the flashing lights flooded her face. Oikawa bit his lip knowing he was in for a long lecture from both of his parents when he returned home.
There were three police officers blocking the road from cars but not on-lookers, of which there were probably closed to fifty.
“Ma’am can you please tell me why you’re son attempted to climb the gate again?”
“This is ridiculous I told you four times,” she ran a shaky hand threw her tight bun pulling some strands loose, “this is his friends house, he did something reckless but this really should not be a problem!”
The blaring alarms continue to echo off the streets as Oikawa turned his attention back to the gigantic cobblestone wall he had just attempted to scale. He had simply wanted to see what Iwa-Chan’s house looked like after two years of being his friend. He hadn’t even made it to the top when—
The scratch of tires coming to a sharp halt on pavement shook him from his thoughts. A huge, black sedan was now parked behind the police cars. A tall, cat-like man slinked out of the car and walked over to the gate ignoring the protests of the police officers. He slid back a metal panel on the side of the gate and pinned in a short combination. The alarms ended their screams and a dramatic silence fell over the neighborhood.
“Now,” the man said turning back towards the police officers, his golden eyes practically glowed in the dark and his dark hair was tied back into a low, long pony tail, “I think that is enough excitement for the day.” He took his wallet from his back pocket and handed his ID to a nearby officer, “Kaname Kuroo, property owner. This boy is friend’s with my son, he must have just wanted to get in and play but I could have sworn we told him that we wouldn’t be in today.”
Oikawa starred at the man in disbelief, Kuroo was not Iwa-Chan’s surname….and this man looked nothing like him.
“No charges, let the women get home, and Tooru, do what you’re told okay?”
Oikawa felt a cold sweat break out over his body as his mother thanked the man and pulled him back towards the house,
“Mom that’s not Iwa-Chan’s dad,” he whispered when she closed the door,
“You do not saying anything about this to anyone do you understand. I will talk to your father. Never bring it up again. Go to your room.”
. _ _ _ _ _
As Iwaizumi opened the enormous oak doors revealing a black and white marble floor, deep red walls, and gold trimmings Oikawa really should not have been surprised.
The small hallway led to an enormous room with a dramatic grand stair case that split off into different directions. There were hallways branching from seemingly every side of the large circle room and a dark, wooden door under the bridge of the staircase.
“When you come here that is the first stop,” Iwaizumi grabbed Oikawa’s hand, giving it a tight squeeze before leading him towards the closed door.
“What’s in there?” Oikawa was embarrassed by the jump his voice took while delivering the question,
“My father’s office.”
Oikawa gulped but continued walking. He could not shake the feeling that he was marching towards his death.
He should’ve listened to his sister. His sweet, sweet older sister that begged him not to do this. The sister who told him to never call again after he made his decision.
He shook the negative thought out of his mind, still not quite ready to process the separation.
So he should’ve listened to Suga! Suga who told him to follow love and trust Iwaizumi and…wait he did listen to Suga. Which is why he was being led into a dark door in a movie-like mansion.
So he should never listen to Suga? Yeah, that sounded right.
“So this is the man my son has been telling me about for so long!”
Oikawa felt his soul leave his body. The office was lined with floor to ceiling bookcases, two large red chairs, a dark desk, and a tall, cat-like man sitting on the edge of the desk. A man with gold eyes that seemed to glow in the dark and dark hair in a low, long pony tail. A man Oikawa had seen years before.
“Y-you,”
“Come off it Kaname, Oikawa this is my Uncle Kaname, he’s Kuroo’s father and my dad’s right hand.”
Oikawa’s heart did not seem to like that answer,
“I’ve met him before,” the pair looked at him for a long moment before Kaname threw his head back in a high pitched laugh,
“You’re right! Oh I had to be so stuffy that day! Ugh cops, they bring out the worst in people right?”
Now it was Iwaizumi’s turn to be nervous,
“What are you guys talking about?”
“That night I tried to break into your house…when I was like seven,” Oikawa examined the intricate carpet laying across the floor,
“Oh that’s right, I forgot about that.”
“Your father should have been down by now, I’ll go grab him,” Kaname slid of the desk and seemed to take two long steps before reaching the door behind them he was eerily silent, “it was nice seeing you again Tooru, I hope you haven’t forgotten what I said last time.”
Oikawa took a deep breath.
This was it. This was one of the moments he knew he was being tested. He wasn’t stupid. Walking into the den of a mobster and saying you wanted to continue to date his son was not going to be a walk in the park. They wanted to feel him out, challenge him, see if he could handle this. And he could.
He looked directly into Kaname’s glowing eyes, “What did you say again?”
He felt his mouth quirk into a grin as a flash of worry slid over Kaname’s eyes. Iwaizumi starred at the man in confusion, and Oikawa knew he had won. There was no way Kaname would repeat the patronizing line in front of Iwaizumi knowing it would upset him.
“Just to keep your chin up,” Kaname’s high pitch laugh rang out through the enormous hallway as he went to find Iwaizumi’s dad.
Oikawa leaned against Iwaizumi as soon as the man disappeared from sight,
“This is going to be a long day,”
Iwaizumi wrapped an arm around his waist, “Are you going to tell me what that was?”
“A power play,” Oikawa sighed, “a really stupid power play against a professional killer.”
Iwaizumi chuckled, “So you’re making friends already?”
“Trying to.”
