depends on what kind of material you use and how you want to use it. the materials ive had experience with are paper, clay, leather, and plaster. most of them are display masks i.e: not meant to be worn and meant more as sculptures or decoration.

iirc most of the masks i used to make were made of paper bc it was the cheapest and fastest and i usually just wanted to test new paints or try new shapes. not very durable or useable tho. literally just for display. i manually shredded newspapers by hand and covered half of a blown-up balloon with paper to get a basic curved shape. then when i popped the balloon, i added more glue and paper to further shape the mask into what i want, cutting away as necessary. i think i experimented with cardboard and wire to make the masks more sturdy but most of the time it really was just paper

plaster imo can be made faster than paper masks but i dont really. vibe with it. i made a plaster mask twice in my entire life and tbh im not interested in doing it again. we had a mannequin head when i was young and i used that to make the plaster mask and it was relatively easy. but idk i didnt like just pouring the plaster over it, waiting, and then removing the plaster. one was a full face mask and the other was a phantom of the opera lookin half mask. i painted the half mask more colourfully. idk if i painted the full mask or not but i know i deffo added feathers and sequins bc i think the masskara festival was ongoing when i made these? or like. close to approaching? or close to ending??? idk but the masskara fiesta definitely influenced the creation of the full mask

personally, i liked working w leather even though i legit only made 1 mask before i fell out of the hobby. probably my 2nd fav method out of everything ive tried, mostly bc 1) i really fucking hate clay, 2) i really fucking hate plaster, 3) i did this a long time ago so i probably dont recall the frustrations of making a leather mask. but it was fun. i deffo used a tutorial for this unlike the clay and paper masks bc it was so fucking COMPLICATED. you had to have a template, you had to punch in the holes, you had to sew the pieces together, etc etc etc it was so TIME CONSUMING. i dont recall what kind of mask i made. but it was definitely small. maybe a half mask. idk i cant remember

if you wanna make strictly decor masks to be hung around the house or w/e, id recommend clay. its v versatile, you can shape it like whatever you want, and once you fire it, you can give it that glazed, shiny finish. you can etch it, add horns or tentacles or whatever the fuck to it, wear it if you want or just keep it as wall sculptures etc etc. id recommend it if you like clay. but personally, i fucking hate clay. like. i liked the end result better than plaster and im more willing to work with clay than i am with plaster or leather since i have more experience with it, but by GOD i fucking hate clay. its messy and clay keeps getting underneath my fingernails and everything needs to be so fucking WET all the gd time. but its good. id recommend it. iirc i made 3 hannya masks, 1 no-face replica, and 1 half-mask shaped like a cat

with the current times, i might just make a cloth face mask. i have a lot of unused fabric and a lot of thread. idk. i probably wont even do anything ngl. my heads been noisy these past few days. hard to focus

ive played like. 1 + 1/2 routes by myself but there are a lot of days where i dont have the Brain Power to play but i still want to Consume Content, so ive watched playthrus of the other routes. still gonna do them on my own tho. ya theres the 3 main routes and a 4th route (one route splits), but a new DLC route has been announced with 4 new characters (and apparently ashe hilda and linhardt will be part of the class) lookin it up could spoil u on other routes tho. i have. an amount of salt ⚔️

i’ve got a bit of salt about jeralt, lmao. like i kind of knew that he was going to die since we met him at the very beginning of the game, you know? all the tropes were ticked off. i guess i’m just surprised at how long it took, because it really gave me the opportunity to get attached to him (ofc i love good dad figures so i was fond in the first place) and then when he did die it felt frustrating more than sad? like, i’m glad that the writers remembered that byleth had yanno time powers and rewound before it, but she only did it once before giving up?? like, i would have tried it ten times, as many as sothis would let me, to try and save him? but she just seemed to accept it. 

and on top of that, i really want to approach edelgard and be like ‘hey so wtf have you been doing hanging out around monica, huh??’ but every time i talk to her it’s just that generic ‘ohh, i’m so sorry for your loss’ so like, edelgard is super suspicious rn. 

a new route sounds AWESOME. since it’s my sib’s game and i’m, well, more or less getting all this content for free, i guess i’ll go ahead and buy the dlc lol. plus i heard there’s a dlc where you get anna? which is interesting, bc right now anna is just a random npc with character art that keeps showing up who i can only talk to in other people’s support scenes (like ashe’s).

I was in an accident three weeks ago. It was the other car's fault. There were no injuries. We didn't call the police, but I got a written statement from the other driver admitting fault. I was planning to keep driving it for years to come. Now the insurance company wants to total my car and what they are offering for my car /their initial proposed settlement of $3500is not nearly enough to buy another car in the same excellent, safe and reliable condition, that is not riddled with hidden problems. This presents a big problem for me as, if I cannot have my car fixed and restored to the same condition as before the crash, I would have to come up with at least $12K to $15K to buy another new safe, reliable economy car. This is an expense that was not in my plans. Also, the insurance company is pushing me to make a hasty decision and is threatening me with not paying for the car rental I needed to get (since my car cannot be driven as the tail light is broken and and rain would get in the car). Is there any way that the insurance company can be prevented from totaling my car and instead pay for properly fixing the car with good OEM parts instead of used (LKQ) parts. I got several estimates, two for around $5K and one for around $7K (this one is from an excellent body shop that has done excellent work on my other previous cars before). I have several years no claims for my driving, most of which are through policies with Direct Line. [The door opens up to an open room, on either side there are windows show casing labratories of some kind. It isn't entirely clear what kind of work is being done in them from where Roxy is standing. At the end of the room there's another door, but shee can also see more doors inside the labs.]

ROXY: =Hm.... can she see computers in there? She decides to get close to one window and peer in. Nerds might be at work in there...=

[There's definitely computers and lots of mechanical equipment and various tech projects half completed on the tables. The lights are low right now so there doesn't seem to be anybody working at this time.]

ROXY: =SCORE. She doesn't want to waste all her gas there has to be a way to get in there..... maybe this door at the end of the room will get her where she's going. Quietly scampers=

[This door is also open, CONVENIENTLY. It leads to another hall, and to either side of where Roxy stands are, presumably, the doors to the labs.]

[It just so happens that whoever used this computer last forgot to log out of their account... They have photoshop open and there are photos of Jake. [Without much looking she will first find a folder full of unedited photos of Jake from his new cell. Dank and dreary, much worse then the cells they were in before. In any case, if she dares to try confiscate some of the mushrooms or any of the extracts lying around, she might be able to try using it for its hypnotic properties. Otherwise, there's mostly just experiments with food and chemicals being done in this lab. Sadly no clues of friends.]

[Back in the hall, on the other side there's yet another door but it's more heavily sealed then the others with some kind of keycard lock, but with little indication of what's on the other side. At the very end of the hall is an elevator, also requiring keycard access to use.]

ROXY: =this might be where its unavoidable. UNA-VOID-ABLE. She bets this heavily sealed door is something GOOD. She's going to take a quick peek in there if she can poof in!=

[There's a growling around these hallways... sounds like something or someone might be prowling around.]

[The room Roxy has poofed into seems to be some kind of observation room. There's a couple screens on one wall with a panel beneath -- one screen is showing the room Jake is being held in (where he's either sleeping among his pumpkin patch or being rowdy...) while the other screen is shut off.]
