I miss when I was doing my bachelor of music and was studying socio-musicology which is so fucking interesting. Probably the best subject I've ever studied. I'm not very good at music but I'm thinking of abandoning my health admin degree and studying sociology so I can focus on society and pop culture because that interests me so fucking much.

#flood warning #ive spent the last half an hour pondering the origin of the skinhead subculture and what actually lead to it being coopted by f*scists #because it was originally an off shoot of the mod subculture mixed with the rudy subculture #and it centred itself around ska and reggae music #and people dont know this and the early history of skinhead subculture in the sixties is so fucking interesting #and i wanna infodump about it now literally early skinheads were so interesting #and then the 80s came and it was all ruined #anyway if studied sociology i think id wanna study that and the new wave of 'tradskins' trying to revive the original subculture
