god i do have to hand xy the battle animations in this season. good god that first battle between pikachu and clemonts bunnelby had absolutely no right looking as polished as it did. its the perfect evolution of the cleaner animations in bw

#like yeahhh its the first episode they gotta make a good first impression but nah the battles are good #ive seen ppl try to go ‘’um its bad actually bc 3d camera layout is cheap’’#and like. tbh that’s absolutely just a contrarian if u ask me bc do u understand how hard 3d angles are #like theres a reason earlier seasons were more simple in layout #u dont have to love it but yeah no its unfair to call it bad animation #ik im arguing against a dumb contrarian take here that’s absolutely not the majority opinion or anything which is lame #but tbh im kinda just. trying to set the expectation that my later inevitable annoyance at the stort #isnt coming from a place of ‘’well xy is the most popular one so it obviously sucks and im interesting for not liking it’’#echoed voice #pokeani lb
