Im not as confident with this fic as everyone thinks i am about this story and this textblock has grammatical and spelling errors in it
But! The best things about book binding your own fic is that (1) its great for getting into book binding and doing tests (2) you only need your own permission as you own the transformative work and (3) its fun 10/10 highly recommend book binding your own writing. It does a cool click to your brain
First attempt at book binding my own fic, Solar Lunacy; ARC 1, Chapters 1-13. Aprox 185,343 wordcount, newer chapters not included.
I messed up and made the font size and margins smaller than the average book, so doing the actaul book will be thicker, but I had to squish the current signature sizes into this hardcover I yanked and upcycled from the thrift store. I used fabrics that I had lying around from making my Sun & Moon cosplays.
It's not perfect but it's good for a test bind! Now to actually fix the text block and make a decent hardcover. Eventually.
#dont get me wrong i think i did an okay job with my first attempt#but its no where near a proffessional level or experienced book binder would have it look like#This is my 3rd (4th) book ive ever binded and the first 3 was a single oneshot using cardstock for a friend#and 2 sketchbooks with leather covers for some friends with medevial world building characters#ive never done this amount of signitures or had to make my own text block before#which is why its so messed with with blank pages at the end of each signiture and the text size and front is wrong#and the chapter titles and page numbers are also funky and i gotta get a different glue for the spine#but! its a start
