Rant time!! Feel free to skip, slight homophobia tw

So my mother just said she was more concerned about the ethics of whaling in iceland (which they're ending in 2024), than she is about how the lgbtqia+ community is treated in Russia (and the UAE, but that was a separate convo).

She knows I'm bisexual. I just ????

I know I should feel grateful that I was never kicked out of home or anything, but between that and saying "I think actual gay people would disagree" when I was trying to explain the progress pride flag, I think I might have hallucinated coming out.

#i wish i could be truly out. i am to my friends but i just. i know she doesnt think of me of bisexual #ive never had a partner which doesnt help #and then theres my wonder if im on the ace spectrum which my friends kinda think as well #and to that she just said 'youre too young to know thatits probably a phase' which #is an insulting thing to say to anyone but i am an adult???#ive known im bisexual for eight years now and i dont think she believes it #would love to talk to her about my ongoing gender crisis #i called myself dashing once because i wore a nice blazer for the first time #and she went on a rant about how i didnt have a dick and dashing is a word men use #and then text my best friend without me knowing to ask if i was still dressed 'girly' enough #i got a short haircut recently and said i liked it because it was more androgynous. she then hasnt stopped saying what a feminine cut it is #i just aaaaaaaaaa #sorry big rant i just had to get if off my chest #i told my best friend and she was very supportive #but she is very straight #so i just wanted to say something to a more queer demographic if that makes sense #honestly i think i could cry but im probably overreacting #like i said feel free to skip this entirely
