OH BOY WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THESE TWO

Marigold “Goldie” Fincher the goldfinch (left) is a housewife in an unhappy marriage and Rosamund “Rosie” Thorne the lion (right) is the newly hired waitress at the Silver Spoon Diner down the road from where Goldie lives.  these two are old characters i made during freshman year of college, a 50s lesbian pulp fiction inspired duo of “women in unhappy relationships have a secret affair with each other” kinda deal

goldie is sweet, accommodating, and fiercely loyal to a fault! just not so loyal to her boring husband anymore, and craving an exotic escape from her mundane life of chores and busywork

rosie is peppy, spunky, and always has a positive attitude.  she’s recently moved to the sleepy town of Clover Hills looking for a fresh start in life

BUT goldie and rosie have some secrets... despite the cheerful facades they both put up, both of them are very maladjusted and have some. dangerous secrets to hide...

rosie is a hardcore carnivore.  like not even eating regular fodder animal meat, but intelligent people meat.  she used to be a vegas showgirl but had to skip town after a serious incident where she killed a man and ate him. her ex-boyfriend has no idea that she did this, and is hunting her down across state lines for an explanation, hoping he can bring her back home (he can’t)

in coming to clover hills, she had been hoping to put her carnivorous past behind her, even resolving to become vegetarian to avoid tempting herself again. but now that she’s met goldie, rosie can’t tell if she wants her... or wants to eat her.

goldie is needy, clingy, overprotective, and a majorly jealous type.  while she hasn’t killed anybody before meeting rosie, she has attacked and intimidated people in the past for disrespecting her husband.  she owns several guns and has a hunting license. she once killed a jogger in the woods and had to cover it up.

after drawing her first blood through that hunting accident, goldie now kills people more intentionally. customers who are rude to rosie, men on the street who harass rosie, etc.  she is seriously obsessed with rosie and doesn’t know how to let her go.  her husband is oblivious to this behavior, and doesn’t really care what goldie does as long as she’s not out with other men.

ultimately, the two of them are an extremely toxic lesbian couple that bound to self destruct and kill each other in the end, but not before having a bunch of evil sex and killing at least ten people :)

BONUS: goldie was designed first and was originally human! but i decided to make them both furries so i wouldn’t have to draw so many noses

goldie was also originally inspired by like. a mix of bree van de kamp and beth young from desperate housewives... rosie was mostly made as just an excuse to draw a girl with this one super short hairstyle i really liked at the time
