I know that people often say that you can get away with a less than stellar story so long as you have amazing characters, but for me personally chorus is a bunch of cool ideas and interesting concepts that suffer from poor execution and unsatisfying conclusions. miles was focusing so much on the small moments that he had to take blatantly obvious shortcuts for plot convenience and leave character arcs half finished. chorus is the 2nd longest installment of rvb and I swear its like watching a speedrun at some points, with s13 being the biggest offender.

on the flip side, the only real complaint I have about burnie's seasons is the occasionally outdated offensive gamer bro humor, and by s9 it was gone. I admit that I'm definitely biased, and that bias heavily contributes to my opinions, but I'm only a self proclaimed recollection simp because I genuinely have no complaints about it.

its a relatively simple story, but it's effective and accomplishes what a good story should do: it hooked me in, kept me engaged by making me ask questions that I wanted answers to, and it left me satisfied by answering all of the questions that mattered. everything that happens in recollection happens for a reason, the lore drops, the comedy, and the animated fight scenes--not to say chorus isn't the same way, I just think recollection does a better job at making sure things matter in the context of the greater narrative and add to it, not distract from it.

I'm not going to pretend like I'm some sort of writing expert, but when you read and watch enough stuff you can tell what's really good, what's okay but could've been really good, and what's not good.

I'm convinced the chorus trilogy gaslighted people into forgetting how everyone was characterized prior to miles being the main writer, to the detriment of literally everybody lmao
