#by which i mean both the vikings and the romans had their way i suppose#was it vikings that came to england i dont know#ive been reading abt the history of french tho! super interesting#but there was only a passing mention of like....what do they call it anglo-normand?#since it's a book about french that makes sense#whats also fun i think the upper classes in the netherlands Also spoke french for a bit#i havent learnt more about that yet but i will#french is a big world they did a lot of conquering#they also got a lot of conquered#before they coalesced into french#which makes the language so fun#i learnt about the languages of oïl and oc last week i was apparently so excited abt that i dreamt about it twice#but really it's fascinating! the way french came to be#ive only finished half the book but im having fun#learnt about the serments of strasbourg
