i have a hades game fanart that ive been working on and off for the past couple of months and i kinda hate it now...? but ive worked on it too much to actually drop the wip. god dammit

TL;DR i dont hate valentino but i do have conflicting thoughts about him

lately ive been mulling over my opinion on valentino — im not really sure how im supposed to feel about him. he kind of ends up in the same bucket as stolas does.

i think, from a objective perspective, he does a fine job at playing the role of the villain in angels story (even though that story can be controversial). bad people can be perfectly charming! look at alastor and vox — lucifer and crimson. all of these characters are unquestionably fan favourites.

but — theres something much more real about valentino (and stolas) that results in an unsettling tonal shift in an otherwise very theatrical, goofy, and relatively unbelievable show. valentino traps angel dust in a soul contract and physically assaults him when angel doesnt do as hes expected; stolas ignorantly barters sex for blitzos means of running his business successfully.

characters like vox and alastor are evil, sure, but they make grand, sweeping magical displays of power that are comparable to charming disney villains. they dont hurt anyone that we as the audience are intended to strongly care about (and no, alastor and husks contract/relationship isnt anywhere near the realism that valentino and angel dust have). if vox and alastor are hades and dr facilier, valentino and stolas are claude frollo and mother gothel.

the issue arises i think from a creator/fandom perspective. when you have the creators of the show saying that valentino, a known rapist and abuser, would be the equivalent of bubbles in the instance of the vees being compared to the powerpuff girls, and dumbing down his personality to that of a high school mean girl instead of treating his character (no matter how evil he is) with dignity and respect, then youre starting to walk the wire of questionable.

that being said, horrendously comically awful people do exist in real life (trump is a perfect example of this) so i dont feel like you can go around calling valentino as a whole "unrealistic". valentino may be largely unintelligent but his villainous scenes are given at least some weight — he has the capacity to do serious harm even if he doesnt act like it all the time. i think its disagreeable to a lot of people that a sexual abuser is given personhood in the same way that murderers and capitalists are in other forms of media.

I totally recommend all 3!! I am actually only just getting to read the Iliad with my adult brain, but between popular medias and other sources I've learned a lot about it already!! And I did learn about it and the Odyssey in school!! So far I have adored the Iliad though! But I'm also a sucker for like, history+myth related literature.

And omg I recommend Hades just as much. Ive done (including throw runs to push the plot on occasion) like 150~ runs? The only two not max bonded are Aphrodite and Dusa (which was due to rpg not wanting to give me the chance EVEN THOUGH I GAVE HER ALL THE AMBROSIA even just playing regualar runs for a while but that's besides the point)

It's so fun, in fact I actually have gave the early release for Hades 2 😭

how i became a death/bone/chaos witch

alright. i figured i should document this before i post too much and its still easy to find.

let me be frank. i am enthralled by death and terrified of it. i’ve always found death, in all forms, fascinating and beautiful, and yet i find myself unsure and frightened by my own. the only times i’ve ever felt safe and sure and calm has been when faced directly with death, as in surrounding myself with bones/furs/parts, dressed in black, observing funerals and death rites, studying roadkill & other dead things, it might sound weird or sick, but its simple. im not “into” death, as in sexually or obsessively. it brings me peace in the inevitability of my own one day and the idea of an afterlife. i read sad stories of people being taken too soon and feel that creeping fear, but then i feel a sense of calm and understanding, hope that they are at least now at peace. i look at roadkill and imagine the pain the poor being went through, and the calm serenity they must now feel where ever they are. death has always frightened and fascinated me. i now work closely with it, using bones/blood/fur/etc in my craft and focusing on honoring death and the renewal that follows it. by doing so, i’ve felt the most peace and understanding of the unknown ive ever felt. watching maggots feasting on a raccoon corpse, seeing vultures circling tragic deer roadkill, a freshly dead animal transforming into clean white bones, all this and more.  death magick to me gives me control and security in the unknown and inevitable. i use to be all about “love and light” while still integrating a kinda gremlin/chaotic vibe. but as ive progressed and moved further into my love of bones and animals, a life long pleasure, ive learned that death and bone magick is truly for me.  sometimes, late at night, when my mental illnesses decide to play the most, i still feel that tinge of fear towards death (as you should because it is unknown and inevitable, its only natural and human) but then i look at my bones, i look towards my hades altar and i feel calm again, peaceful knowing even in the end my bones will remain and i will be looked on with love as i look upon the bones i possess. fear is natural and while shadow work, bone and death magick are all dark and spooky and can turn scary if youre not careful, its so rewarding and encouraging!  i will ALWAYS always be a death witch. ive been one for about 2 years now, a witch in general for 10 years though i believe its always been apart of my life. i am excited to share what ive learned and learn more and grow with all of you young death witches!!

Black Myth Wukong and the Kiang-Jin Long Dilemma

Is it just me or does the lockon system shit itself and die during the Kiang-jin Long fight?

In all seriousness though, pivoting focus for a minute, I've been hearing some complaints that the dev team is sexist and has said they don't want women playing the game, and I'd like to clear that up a bit.

The actual translation of the comment was that they didn't want to use women to sell the game. There's a chinese streamer who goes more in-depth on it (no clue where the link went so bear with me) but essentially, tldr, China has been pivoting towards American-style advertising using sex to sell lately and the dev team didnt want to do that.

And as for the "lack" of female characters... a) this is meant to be a sequel to Journey to the West, not everyone from the first run is going to be involved and b) Kiang-Jin Long/Star, one of the only female characters Ive seen to far, is READILY capable of handing you your ass several times over and shes just a miniboss, and, in a game that doesnt give you much context anyway until youve beaten a boss, of course shes not gonna have a ton of focus in the gameplay itself?? BUT SHE GETS TWO WHOLE JOURNAL ENTRIES WHERE MOST MAINLINE BOSSES ONLY GET ONE. That's kind of a whole LOT of attention, actually!!

More importantly though, the ONLY people I've seen complaining are Americans, which brings me to the main point: it's a Chinese game, based on Chinese mythology and characters, made for a Chinese audience. It's more than fine to enjoy the game if youre not Chinese, God knows its going to be one of my favorite games of the year and thats DAMN impressive considering Hades 2 is in early access currently and Monster Hunter Wilds is creeping closer to release date, but it's just not for us.

The culture there just isn't as focused on minority or womens representation as it is here because that's just not a relevant thing there at the moment.

The only reason I have even a fraction of the understanding I need to get the references in this game is because for the last 22 years of my life I've been obsessively reading every myth, fable, legend, and ghost story I could get my hands on (slight tangent, if anyone can recommend any good Scottish ones, Ive got a significant gap in my knowledge in that area).

Even I will readily admit I have only the loosest understanding of just how far into the mythos of Journey to the West this game goes because I only have a loose understanding of Journey to the West. Ive read the unabridged version and several abridged versions (cannot reccomend the unabridged version as recreational reading its very long and very repetitive) and I can tell you right now: its a satirical take on the religion and politics of the time it was written, so I have little to no historical context outside of mythology to understand the nuances of that.

Im sure there are a million little significant details about Buddhism and Taoism and bureaucracy buried in this game that I will never ever catch and Im ok with that but God Damn some people need to learn theres more to some media than what their frame of reference allows them to see.

This game is a piece of someone elses culture that was important enough to a large team of people that they decided to retell it in a way that was accessible to the rest of us on even a surface level, and some of yall are bitching about how it doesnt align with your own culture. Like, no shit? It's NOT your culture!

Oh finally, someone who also likes Hades!!! I fucking suck at videogames, I had never played a dungen crawler before this one and honestly the only reason I bought Hades was to be gay. But by god. That game is so much fun. Like I don't think we give them enough credit for creating a game with a good learning curve that even someone like me (<- has yet to clear the first level of Cuphead and it's been two years) could find it enjoyable and progress in the story. Yet they have. AND it's gay. Amazing.

EXACTLY i was so bad the first time i played it. ive never played anything other than like. what my parents let me play as a kid. so minecraft and pokemon. but finally getting to dive into dungeon crawlers and roguelikes was AWESOME!! i have no idea how "good" i am at hades, but id like to think im pretty decent!!

and YEAH THE STORY IS AMAZING god. god its so good. the fact it lets you be poly as well is SO FUCKING COOL!!!!

favourite time of year: anytime seasons are changing!! i love it when you start seeing lambs tails and the days get longer, i love seeing the leaves change colour i love the creeping in of the cold

comfort food: uh not entirely sure if this is a comfort food but at the moment my safe food which is basically, all i can eat when im in a no food mood is naked burritos (so without the wrap) i like them with black beans, pulled pork, cheese, pico de gallo, and lime.

do you collect anything?: hm this one is tricky bcos i dont think i set out to collect things but i do accumlate cool rocks. and poems i like. and mugs. and i try to gather more cool socks but i lose them very fast

favourite drinks: my classic english breakfast tea has a special place in my heart obviously, as does appletise. however recently ive been enjoying pink tea (literally any berry flavoured tea that is pink) and hot chocolate (my favourite is the kind from machines)

favourite music artist: another tricky one. i guess right now i'm listening to a lot of foals, and i also love a bit of will wood and the hoosiers. trying to broaden my horizons atm so ive been listening to a lot of what spotify calls "evil music"

favourite fics: of all time? Shut Up and Dance by wittyy name is a strong contender! really made me think about writing apart from anything. I also loved so much of CaffeinatedFlummadiddles now very sadly deleted works, and pretty much everything by unpretty but specifically her sorrowful and immaculate hearts series. I guess I don't really read these fics much at the moment, but they hold a special place in my heart.

favourite video games: I'm so embarassingly bad at video games i cannot play them, but via osmosis I think hades and disco elysium would be my favourites!!!

I think this is mostly because ive been “finishing” art less lately? or like... making less small things and more singular big/complex illustrations? idk. it’s tough, I want to post more because I like posting art on the internet. I grew up watching other people post art on the internet and wanting to do the same. there’s a lot of artists who don’t like it but its fun to me. unfortunately this whole year has kind of been like a non-posting year tho.

Which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me looking at the style alone but does like...make sense in the way that I think I share similar cultural inspirations with that comic like...being online in the mid 2000s...deviantart digital art type stuff. So even if there isn’t any direct inspiration there’s some shared dna probably.   I think I’ve hard art compared to transistor (the supergiant game) too and I think its like. a similar story there. Heck, If i drew more sexy characters my inking tendencies would probably get my art compared to hades just with how big that art style is culturally rn.too bad i only draw dumb looking kids.

I’ve never played a supergiant game. they look very nice and I rly respect them as a company but they’ve yet to make smth that’s really up my alley.

i’ve been working on the most self indulgent au for about a week now and I thought i’d share my thoughts. now presenting... my ace attorney blaseball au! including teams, positions, modifications and more about all the ace attorney characters i could think of and how they would play blaseball. you can also find it on ao3 here, but ive included all the information i have below the cut!

Blase Attorney (Blaseball Ace Attorney AU)

Phoenix- 

Team: Yellowstone Magic

Position: Batter

Modifications: Seeker

Details: one of the first replacements in the game, he was originally just a blaseball fan who was following around miles edgeworth his childhood friend to his games (disguised as him going to see Larry play) and sort of wished that he could play so he could get closer to miles and is at a magic/steaks game that miles is pitching when someone gets incinerated and suddenly he’s on the field in a jersey with a glove and that really messes him up, he's a pretty good player not a star player but definitely a solid one, gets the seeker mod in the season 19 tarot reading

Notable Forbidden Knowledge:  REALLY high martyrdom

Maya

Team: Yellowstone Magic

Position: Batter

Modifications: Haunted

Details: she replaced Mia when she was incinerated and isn’t a season 1 player but has been here so long that it FEELS like she is, isn’t great at the game and has like really bad forbidden knowledge stats but she occasionally hits a surprise dinger and the fans love her so they infuse her and she becomes a serviceable batter, is constantly filled with guilt and emotions about being the person who replaced her sister she gets the haunted mod in an election

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high base thirst, really good divinity that only gets better after her infuse

Edgeworth- 

Team: Dallas Steaks

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: None

Details: season one player who didn’t really want to join blaseball but he took it in stride and he wasn’t very good at first but he got a blessing that MADE him good and he’s miraculously been on the team the whole time, originally placed in good league because Fran was in Evil and von Karma wanted them to dominate the game and become the best in their respective leagues, still one of the best players in the game, his dad still dies somehow, refuses to “buy into” the dad bit from the steaks and insists that he was just placed here

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: EXCEPTIONAL ruthlessness (one of the highest in the game), good other stats as well, just a really solid PITCHING statline, his other stuff isn’t good

Franziska- 

Team: Hades Tigers

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: Friend of Crows

Details: season one player who fans LOVE even though she hates everything about the game and the circumstances in which she’s here, she’s a naturally good player but she lets up a lot of home runs, she receives the friend of crows modifier in season 10 much to her dismay, ALMOST pitched a perfect season and then absolutely RUINED it in the last game and it crushed her

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: higher highs than miles but also lower lows, in particular her overpowerment isn’t very good, she is also a more well rounded player and would also be a fine batter (solid thwack)

Gumshoe-

Team: Originally on the LA Unlimited Tacos, then feedbacked to the San Fransisco Lovers

Position: Batter

Modifications: Siphon, Attractor

Details: season one player that is beloved by the fans and he’s decent at the game but he always tries to steal bases but he is so bad at it, he’s the teams siphon but he NEVER drinks blood except to draw a walk, he ends up getting redacted because of consumer attacks and is probably one of the first to do so despite him having QUITE a bit of soul, he becomes Wyatt Gumshoe in the Wyatt Masoning

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: GREAT thwackability, bad everything else which makes for a really interesting player to say the least

Athena- 

Team: Miami Dale

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: None

Details: POWERFUL ARMS also she is a replacement player she probably becomes a replacement after Simon does and she got into blaseball because of that cute flowers pitcher and now she’s here but she LOVES Miami and she LOVES being bad at the game, she leans really hard into the neon aesthetic

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: good unthwackability and ok ruthlessness, shakespeareanism is her highest stat, would also be a great batter and has really good thwackability and divinity, GREAT vibes

Apollo- 

Team: Mexico City Wild Wings

Position: Batter

Modifications: None

Details: founding member of the wings legal team who’s another replacement player that FEELS like he’s a season 1 player, he isn’t very good in general but REALLY good for the wings and is probably the mvp at some point but like he’s a really inconsistent hitter but when he DOES hit its POWERFUL and he gets a lot of RBI’s 

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: SHOCKINGLY good musclitude and ground friction, GOD awful moxie

Larry- 

Team: Dallas Steaks

Position: Batter

Modifications: None

Details: season one player who is like the teams designated player we beat up on because they’re awful but we love them, gets shadowed in the expansion era because he just wasn’t good anymore and he REFUSED to leave, he is the definition of “YOU CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS,” would always party but his forbidden knowledge is TRASH so it was never worth anything because he’s top ten in the league for career strikeouts

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: REALLY HIGH PATHETICISM HOLY SHIT but good ground friction and like, ok musclitude

Ema- 

Team: Kansas City Breath Mints

Position: Batter

Modifications: Fire Eater

Details: replaced the first player incinerated on the team so she has a lot of fans because she’s been here a while but like also her career is forever impacted by the fact that people mourned so deeply before really appreciating her and a lot of fans can never really love her in the same way, but she has fire eater now and WILL cut a bitch down to size, she’s also definitely been attacked by consumers though, she also parties a LOT

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: good defender, high omniscience and tenaciousness

Lang- 

Team: Houston Spies

Position: Batter

Modifications: Maximalist, Siphon

Details: replaced a SUPER popular player who was REALLY good at the game and struggled with a lot of the implications of their legacy but he ALSO became really good and a really iconic player to the team and eventually became a fan favorite, LITERALLY cannot stop freaking drinking blood hes so fucking massive now holy shit but like only his baserunning

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: PHENOMENAL baserunning just in general but his base thirst is low so he doesn’t actually steal that much, SUPER high moxie and musclitude

Kristoph-

Team: Baltimore Crabs

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: Returned, Debt

Details: season 1 player who was a really aggressively middling player who had deceptively high stars and they could never get rid of him until he finally got incinerated in late season 6/early season 7 but he gets necromancy-d on accident and no one wanted this now he just haunts the league, he joined blaseball to get notoriety and some level of fame and convinced Klavier to join him

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high coldness and ok ruthlessness, unthwackability is fine, shakespeareanism is also good

Klavier- 

Team: Originally on the Crabs, but feedbacked to the Seattle Garages

Position: Batter

Modifications: Spicy

Details: he signed up when Kristoph did. because he said that this would be something good to do as brothers and they even signed to the same team, carcinization really freaked him out but he was a season 1 crab and no one knew what would happen, he Feedbacked in like season 6 and kris got incinerated really shortly after he feedbacked which messed him up, he loves the garages vibes WAY more than he liked the crabs

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high moxie and indulgence

Kay- 

Team: Charleston Shoe Thieves

Position: Batter

Modifications: Flippers

Details: shoe thieves, batter, she was originally a shadows player and just sat there doing great thief things until she got called up for having very sneaky good stats (rod.net style) where she singles a lot and then just steals her way to third/home, voted to trust her in season 11 and now she has cool flippers

Details: his dad was a famous blaseball player before the ILB so he signed him up to play and didn’t get on the roster until maybe like season 9, really dramatic arc where he starts out really bad but slowly through incremental stat increases becomes pretty ok but then has a devastating allergic reaction and ends up having to be shadowed because he’s just unsaveable at this point, but still a big fan fave and people still talk about them, he would’ve been a pretty ok batter with really high defense but peanut destroyed that too

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high highs and low lows and vibes are just… there

Juniper-

Team: Boston Flowers

Position: Originally a batter, but reverbs into Pitching

Modifications: None

Details: season 1 player who is really popular amongst the fans but isn’t well known outside of the fanbase she joined blaseball because she didn’t really have a choice and she was just working at the garden, she wasn’t a great batter but she’s a shockingly good pitcher, she had partied so much that she is now just undeniably good solely because she has partied THAT much

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: SHOCKINGLY good ruthlessness, its her only good stat though until parties make her good

Simon- 

Team: Chicago Firefighters

Position: Batter

Modifications: Ego+

Details: another late season replacement that was made to be a edgelord with really good stat set up and he’s a super consistent batter who just also gets walked a lot and has a LOT of thirsty fans, REALLY good at dunking, one of the best idols for solo seeds but ONLY for a SINGLE season because he just underperforms his stars for NO reason and its infuriating, joined because he didn’t want athena to get recruited but she followed him anyways to find out what the hell happened to him and why he just vanished

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: HIGH musc/thwack/martyr with really low patheticism, absolutely ATROCIOUS vibes

Godot- 

Team: Hellmouth Sunbeams, roams to the Tokyo Lift and then to the Canada Moist Talkers

Details: a season 1 player who would be a MUCH better batter but REFUSES to leave the rotation with deceptively high stars and one of the first players to get roamin’ and actually becomes good because of it infuriating LITERALLY everyone

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: have you seen bright zim? Yeah its just that. He has sixteen fingers for no reason

Trucy- 

Team: Originally a Philadelphia Pies player, but feedbacks to the Yellowstone Magic

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: None

Details: Phoenix becomes her dad after she feedbacks, later season replacement probably surrounding the s7 instabilities and beanings and she got REALLY popular REALLY fast with the pies fans and over siesta but then she gets traded like the Monday after and it breaks the fans hearts, she’s not very good but she gets alternated into BEING good

Nahyuta-

Team: Originally on the Beams, but feedbacks to the Hawai’i Fridays

Position: Pitcher

Details: expansion era player who replaced an absolutely GARBAGE player so the fans are DELIGHTED by him, lets up a lot of walks but has shockingly pitched a no hitter despite only being here since season 13, was infused because of his good forbidden knowledge stats, still gets faxed out of the game because he has games where he just lets up a RIDICULOUS amount of runs, actually fit in really well with the Fridays, was observed (by Kristoph?) and then got redacted 

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: uncle plasma… 2! Also REALLY big vibes range

Justine Courtney-

Team: New York Millennials, traded to the Breckenridge Jazz Hands

Position: Pitcher

Modifications: None

Details: joined the team before Sebastian probably around season 5, was pretty average at pitching but ate a peanut and had a yummy reaction which made her slightly above average but subpar ruthlessness made her still not great, traded away to the Jazz Hands after Sebastian was shadowed, really polarizing for fans there was a lot of fighting about whether or not to trade her from fans

Mia-

Team: Yellowstone Magic

Position: Batter

Modifications: None

Details: was the season 1 stand out batter for the magic, she was a REALLY good season 1 player that fans STILL talk about even though she’s been dead since season 3, she was the person who was standing next to Phoenix when he appeared on the field and caught the ball that was flying towards him before it hit him in the face and she took it upon himself to get him acclimated to the game, she thought of him as a kid brother, she tried to keep Maya away from blaseball but couldn’t stop her from watching on TV, she originally joined to get away from the Fey clan and to try and do something with her life and also possibly find out what happened to her mother and she was promised social power and unlimited access to information

Notable Forbidden Knowledge: really solid statline for someone who never saw any improvements

Phoenix and Miles get together around season 6, right before the Jaylen stuff, then break up because they were both having a lot of emotions about the whole necromancy business and Miles was always on the idol board and there was a lot of uncertainty in their lives. I think a necromancy of Kristoph probably happens in the Expansion Era and he tries to get revenge on Phoenix for god knows what, and Miles ends up getting close with him again after a whole Grand Siesta of just being really emotionally charged friends and finally get together AGAIN in season 13 after a consumer attacks Phoenix, but this time they STAY together and probably get married because they're just so scared of losing each other.

 Kay gets to fight god in season 9, no this probably wouldn't have been possible if she was a shadows player originally but uwu <3

Kay and Miles get to know each other because she tried to steal Miles shoes, but he caught her. He offered to make her dinner and they just had a good time, Kay hadn’t really been shown that kind of kindness in a WHILE and she... missed that sort of father figure in her life... so she just keeps trying to steal things from Miles and getting caught until he finally tells her that she can just... come over through the front door. He will never say that she is his daughter out loud, but the collective dadconcious Knows, and tells him that they are proud of him.

 Maya and Franziska are rivals. They hate each other. When Maya gets 0 no it only makes it worse because it "ruins" Franziska's perfection as a pitcher and forces her to throw balls. They get to know each other over these pitch offs and start to realize that they actually aren't that different. Gay rights. They kiss. They have a great time over the Grand Siesta and make fun of their brothers, but they both have emergency bags in case the other one dies.

 Dahlia Hawthrone would never get involved in Blaseball and everything she does is outside of the game but if she was she'd be on the Boston Flowers and she would be her team's Pudge. A god awful player who on occasion actually does something good and half the fans love her because of her character and half the fans hate her for the same reason and also she sucks at the game.

 Most of them also still have their law degrees and also keep some semblance of what they do in the actual ace attorney games, except Ema who has of course factually failed the bar exam by nature of being on The Breath Mints.

Hi holly!! Ive been playing Hades lately and its kicking my ass but in a pleasant way, what's ur favorite weapon so far? also any tips? have a nice day!!

I like the fists the most but I like all of the weapons. 

I had a whole big long thing written up, but accidentally closed the tab and lost it all. Here’s the long and short of my tips that helped me win some attempts: 

Get Death Deft 1 and 2 ASAP. The third can wait; it’s good but it’s a luxury. 

Get the second dash ASAP. 

More cast ammo is also very good. 

Either of the heal upgrades (heal on darkness or heal 3 per room) are strong but I prefer the darkness one (especially when I’m already trying to get darkness). 

Skelly’s keepsake & Cerberus’s keepsake are real good when you’re learning the game. Dusa’s is, too. 

Athena’s boons let you be super safe while also being aggressive (deflect AND attack up - the dash upgrade is especially strong). Aphrodite’s boons give you the highest percent damage increase of any god boon, & the Weak effect means enemies don’t hurt you as badly if you get hit. Both of them have some really good defensive options for their other boons, too. Try out their goodies if you’re having trouble. 

Effects that spread to other enemies (like Zeus lightning) or that stack on hit (like Dionysus poison) work really well with fast weapons like the fists or the Adamant Rail. They work fine enough on slower weapons, but faster hits mean they can apply more often - oh baby that;s a synergy. 

Chaos boons are all extremely powerful if you can stay alive. 

Your gold is worthless if you don’t spend it. 

Throw a soup drink at every NPC you can at least once - all the keepsakes have use & you should play around with them. 

Clearing minor prophecies is a good way to get more resources. 

The boss of area 3 (& frankly all of area 3 in general) is a big difficulty wall for a lot of people - pretty much everyone I’ve talked to struggles with at least sometimes. Don’t feel too bad if you have a hard time with it. 

Daedalus hammers are extremely good and I like to prioritize ‘em. 

Remember that the game is more or less designed for you to die over and over again in order to see more of the story & get more resources for upgrades. Individual runs are short, but getting darkness and gems is the long con - upgrading yourself either makes subsequent runs easier, or more interesting. 

Zagreus can do bad stuff with his power...

Oh Meg Ik this is out of nowhere but I just remembered that I recorded Hydra’s S1 and I got to this scene of Alex and MC and oh my gosh….

BROOO. THEY?? LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! And then they pat her on the head and she says, “…Will you keep trusting me?”

And they just smile and say, “I don’t plan on stopping now.” And they can tell she’s nervous bc she just literally confessed her emotions and they say, “I’ll do what I can to keep H.E.R.A off your scent. No harm will come to you, I swear.” AND THEY PULL HER INTO ANOTHER HUG!!!

YO I JUST!!! Love this scene so much. They literally forgot all professionalism and pulled her into a hug bc they love her and they were so worried and they’re best friends and hnnng….Alex is so pure and the way they see her heart as pure and good??? Literally so wholesome and I’m reminded that I need to finish recording all of Alex’s seasons. I only have 1 and 2. And I need to finish Hades snabsb. I got a lot of recording to do but I’ve got a lot done surprisingly.
