GASP thats evil, i think its a complete mistake that people believe ice cream is only a summer treat, it should be around all the time. i mean.. maybe not in the winter, for the actual outdoor ice cream places. but there was a frozen yogurt place in the um. town? that i just moved from recently, and theres a lot of sitting spots on the inside so its open like all year round, which is THE BEST. and you totally should have some of the gelato, its so good brbfbg

i just finished playing stardew valley!! i made a lot of progress on my farm and in the mines, im now on mine level 50, and my farm has a lot of cleared out trees and a big garden. plus my chickens are really happy! i love stardew so much, its such a good game. what about you though, lovely?

I've never been a big fnaf fan but I had friends who were really into it, so I know a bit about it. I like it casually! I've played an FNF Mod where he was in it though, it was kinda funny! I so agree! I eat ice cream year round, no matter the temperature. I love froyo too but I never get it... there's a good one in the town next to me that I love going to when I get the chance though, and near my school is a pretty good gelato and ice cream place. why are you defending cyberpunk so much? its a really buggy mess, it barely works on even some of the best pcs, they lied when they advertised it working on the ps5 but not ps4, and there were a ton of issues even before release happening with their social media team

my point is that people pick and choose when they wanna throw their arms up over the standard that is AAA gaming releases, and has been since prooooobably da2′s release (14 months to produce and release a game). maybe even earlier if you consider kotor2′s release (aka, given 11 months to make a game).

my point is that fallout 76 was an unplayable, game breaking, exploitative game riddled with many of the same issues. and i dont know anyone who continues to play it to this day but i know faaaaaar more people who refunded it or cancelled their orders just prior to launch because they didn’t want to brick their consoles.

my point is that one of the biggest blowbacks towards crunch was in regards to rockstar and red dead redemption 2′s release, a game which is now heralded as one of the best of all time, despite the way it treated everyone who worked on it. the moment it fixed everything, people forgot about just how hurt people working on that game were

my point is that skyrim is treated with this gentleness and fondness for dragons flying backwards and giants leaping into the sky and glitched quests (and how trophies, still to this day, sometimes will never work so you will have to put in another 100+ hour playthrough to be able to MAYBE get something). the irony in sony going after cp77 but STILL not forcing companies to fix broken quest lines

remember daa, with the silver mines? how if you happen to get that bug, that’s it. you basically have to restart. all ur items are gone, you can’t proceed. boom. bioware has never made an effort to fix it. they just released awakening as is, and proceeded onto their next project.

you also have to take into account that, okay sometimes they can’t pick up on all the glitches prior to testing like one or two are gonna slip through! but there’s a difference between that and a glitched out unplayable mess. cp77 honestly isnt unplayable, in fact it is one of the better games ive played at launch in a long time. do you know what gets these ppl notes and likes on the internet? blowing this shit out of proportion. in my 30+hrs of playing already, where im still just wandering around and picking up side missions and checking out clothes and whatever, sincerely have not seen half the shit ppl have said. not that it isnt true! the screenshots and vids are there! but people are piling it on, completely and totally, just for the sake of interest.

remember when mass effect andromeda dropped, and they had that beta test version that like journalists got to play, and how the models for cora and ryder had weird kind of motions and how sara ryder’s facial expressions are still a meme to this day? and how it kept getting piled on sooooooo much when it was like... not actually like that gameplay wise, and the story was quite nice, but who actually talks about that when you can talk about how bad the game looks ugh loading sequences ugh 360 head spins. fallout 4 had those weird smiles coming from npcs that are quite haunting, weren’t fixed.

you can actually tell that cdpr paid attention to writing a story that works, the endings are cathartic and not 2edgy2bedifferent like me3′s fucking starchild bullshit. also speaking of games who spent so long in production their story fucked up: persona 5 and final fantasy 15 are examples of spending too long being worked on with the story that despite how good it looks, it is a vapid excuse of a game that you HAVE to play either sequels or the dlc to get the full brunt of it. remember persona 5′s advertising? COMING SUMMER 2013. final fantasy 15 was ff versus for the lonnnngggeeesssstttt time too before square enix took it upon themselves to fuck it up and then GET MAD when ppl pointed out the story was kind of shallow (and also “why arent you releasing ff7r already”)

oh and then we also have things like kingdom hearts 3, which was quite frankly? awful and was FULL of corporations just getting their hands on it and doing whatever with it story wise (disney wanted frozen to feature so bad they intervened completely). borderlands 3 which keeps messing with the dlc and im amazed they even keep trying. bl3 was the sequel no one asked for, because it had no idea what it was doing. it was setting up to a story that i think very few ppl are now interested in.

yes cdpr lied. yes there are issues with their social media team. who do you actually blame though? the investors? corporations like sony and microsoft who no doubt wanted the game released as well? project managers, their bosses, the CEO? shareholders? fans who wanted the game now instead of putting up with another delay because lets be real: if a company needs to delay the game, they need to delay the game. its a demand and supply thing going on and the ppl who sit behind desks just see numbers they dont give a fuck about the people and we all know this. it fucking sucks.

this is not the first company, this is just the most public blowup because this game was teased in 2012 and people have held out for years and i get it! i do! ive been waiting for this game for years as well. and we can argue about how you shouldnt preorder games or not play stuff at launch or like how you should already have the latest console that has been sold out since it was announced and wont arrive in your country until march ! this can go back and forth and we can talk circles around cdpr but the point is: this isnt the first instance of it. it wont be the last.

if sony actually gave a fuck, they would review every single goddamn game that has been released to this day and has had bug reports. they dont. this is to clear up their public image. these companies truly dont give a fuck. bethesda admits to relying on fans to make their games playable with modding and to ALSO keep track of their story because it doesnt matter to them.

* @anon THATS A WHOLE ASS MOOD TBH. i spend literal hours at night thinking abt whether he was in an orphanage or a street kid. ive wrote him living in the streets  and getting sent to an orphanage when he was caught stealing. whereas i ALSO have mindless scribbled notes of modern au where his parents left him in an orphanage but bc of bad experiences (and thats putting it lightly) he gets sent to different homes A LOT and eventually gets kicked out at some point, ILL GET TO THAT LATER IN A BIT

* SINCE im trying to NOT write a fic here ill just list down headcanons and stuff bc YEET!!!! and for the sake of convenience lets just say he was both sent to an orphanage and lived as a street kid :”DD

* lets talk abt hcs ive seen first,, jpn fandom mostly all seem to hc him as a street kid who lived by working on odd jobs and the sort. ofc more often than not he just gets the bare amount for payment and the people he works for arent really nice :(( they never have the nicest words to say and sometimes they even hit him. zen sometimes endures it bc its not like he has much of a choice in the end. other times he runs away crying and scared.

* he also doesnt really have a permanent home so he wanders a lot carrying what little stuff he owns (probably a few clothes or a worn-out futon or something)

* he’s taken advantage of a lot,, whether it’d be people tricking him into doing some work saying ‘he’ll be given something good in return’ or something equally vague. he usually wonders why their words sound so kind in comparison to their heartbeats that sound… off,, its not until he’s older that he gets an answer to that question

* bc he cant be picky i like to think that its not that hard for him to sleep somewhere uncomfortable. he also curls up a lot into a ball when he sleeps. he likes being cooped up into small spaces, it makes him feel safe and that no one can get him. 

* was initially very verbal about his hearing condition (something along the lines of saying ‘i heard you say that ____’ or ‘hey, do you hear that’ etc etc.) people think hes creepy and/or he’s lying most of the time. he eventually doesnt really wanna talk about it anymore once someone came this close to threatening to cut his ears off.

* i think we can say that zen lived in the city? its why he likes expensive things and the sort, and he has a lot of stock knowledge about how the city works and stuff like that, not to say that he’s ever really participated in it 

* as a child (and even as he got older) zenitsu’s favorite season is spring, autumn being a close second. he likes spring bc the air is fresh and he can find flowers in the outskirts of the city, surviving despite growing in cracked concrete. he makes little flower crowns out of them!

* he likes autumn bc the way the leaves change is pretty! but its only second to spring bc the flowers usually wilt by then and he gets cold :(

* he doesnt like winter simply because it is VERY cold. he dislikes summer the most tho bc the sound of literal thousands of cicadas give him a lot of headaches aaa 

* is very used to being hungry when he goes to sleep. he makes due with it as best as he can. one of his fondest memories is a frail old man who owns a sweet bun cart that gives him buns in exchange for a lower price than what he actually sells them for. on a day where he thinks the old man looks more tired and quiet than usual, zenitsu takes it upon himself to give him a flower crown. 

* unfortunately he never is able to give it, bc the next day, or days after that, zenitsu never sees him again.

* he has experience bein a sneaky little thief! its the reason on why he can easily take sweets without permission at the butterfly estate in canon hehe

* but its this very same reason that he gets sent to an orphanage, he gets caught! and bc he is a Literal Child. they send him to foster care woohoo

* i dont have a clear idea on how zenitsu couldve been treated in an orphanage. but all in all, he’s just very grateful to be given some kind of semblance of a home and food

* he learned how to speak (barely) when he lived in the streets, but they teach the basic minimum and suddenly he’s learning all these sorts of things

* the people who took care of them arent the most affectionate, neither are the kids he lives with. zenitsu’s crying is often really looked down upon, he tries to stop but he can’t really help it. he’s not really anyones favorite person here

* there’s a small somewhat neglected garden in the orphanage’s backyard. he spends his time here when everyones playing and no one wants to play with him

* every time someone comes to adopt a kid he cries and begs for them to adopt him whenever they show a spark of interest towards him. it goes as bad as u think it does, they dont like that type of kid, and as such they assume everyone else is like that and leaves w/o taking anyone. zenitsu isnt allowed to eat dinner in these nights ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

* bc of the latter reason, kids gang up and bully him a lot. zenitsu tries to go along w it bc its the ONLY time anyone ever pays attention to him, but at the end of the day the only thing he gets is scratches and bruises from being pushed around and lots of words that hurt his heart

* people think he’s a nuisance more or less. and then he gets sent to varied foster homes again and again bc he’s ‘difficult to deal with’ and going back to the first bullet point, he gets kicked out again wAH. at this point he might have been 15 and its when he starts trying to date girls, despite hearing everyone’s sounds of deceit and lies time and time again, he still goes through with it. and the rest is canon,

Ed The Boxer - My entrance

2 years ago, I was on a dry spell. Not many things were coming for me despite I had a lot of experience writing music for some of the most major AAA-developers in Japan like Konami, Bandai Namco, Sega, Suda 51′s Grasshopper Manufacture and CAPCOM. I was hoping 2017 would be the year I would finally see some changes to my life.

I received a phone-call at the end of 2016, asking me if I wanted to work and write music for the introduction movie for Tekken 7 and I was so happy to hear that they would consider me. I did let them know about my holiday schedule and what days I would be outside Japan and I was promised that it would start once I got back home. But right before I left for my holidays as usual to Bali, a last minute cancellations happened and that my schedule conflicted with theirs.

I thought I’ve missed one of my biggest dreams of all time, to be one of the first Swedes to write music for a Tekken game of all time. (However, there was another Swedish band on the soundtrack who wrote and performed a song called “Vrede” (Wrath in english) for Lars Alexandersson’s character theme-song. But I didn’t know this until I heard the Swedish Radio P3 gameshow “P3 SPEL” with host Angelica Norgren, do an interview segment about the Swedes who ended up in writing music in Tekken 7. I don’t really go out looking for interviews, but I know I’ve been on nobody’s radar since working in Japan makes me and all the people I worked with a little bit paranoid due to all the NDA’s we have to sign once we start working on a project. That’s why I haven’t posted anything due to the process of that once I’m done producing a piece of music, it is no longer mine. It is the property of the client.

So I wasn’t sure how I would go about it since my major release of Resident Evil 6 and one of the most popular tunes from that game was Mercenaries, it went viral on YouTube. I didn’t feel I needed to pursue and tell them who wrote that song, because I’m so obviously hoping people were doing the re-search and credit the right people. But when I found out that they credited the wrong people, that’s when I thought: - “Somewhere, there got to be a limit, and when people are wrong about the sources and I have the original material to prove it, I should be able to call out for corrections of the YouTube material. I’m not doing it to boast myself, right should be right.”

It’s fun when people talk about music, but when the composer/producer doesn’t receive recognition, that’s where I say ENOUGH. It should be easy as breathing. That PERSON wrote THAT song.

It took 4 years to get my next biggest project since I finished Resident Evil 6. I missed the opportunity to write for Tekken 7. I felt I was down and out. 3 weeks earlier before I left for Bali, I receive a phonecall from a guy from an agency who’d like to talk to me, Mr. Ho. He wanted to ask me some stuff about how I do virtual orchestrations and what you should think about when you are doing those, he took notes and I thought it was a nice little chat. We didn’t talk much about any projects, but it was interesting. But little did I know it would bear fruit to something completely different.

Back in Japan after the missed opportunity to write the opening cinematic for Tekken 7, 2 weeks later I got another phone-call beginning with the words: -”Hey, it’s Mr. Ho. By the way, are you familiar with Street Fighter?” My eyebrows lifted up in a Roger Moore surprise look: -”Yeah, I played it all the way up to Street Fighter IV. How come?” -”The thing is, they are going to include a brand new character for the game. Are you interested, do you have time to have a look at it?” -”Sure, I really have NOTHING going on at the moment.” -”Great. They are actually look for some hip-hop music for this character. Do you have any songs of that nature that we can show them?” -”Well, actually no. But I can have something down within the next 3 hours. What do they have in mind?” The conversation kept going and then I was ready to just do the beat. Hip-hop is one of the most simplistic music styles out there. All you really need to care about are the instrument choices, the samples and how to make it sound heavy and snappy if required.

Within 3 hours I had a demo-ready hip-hop song. Team Street Fighter were actually very shocked about my quick result and said: -”This is the right direction. We like the initial approach, but it’s too close to the song you are listening too. Can you change it a little bit so we don’t get sued?” -”No problem. I’ll see what I can do to make the track really stand out.”

So they sent out the documents, some concept art about the character and a video. This was Ed. The Boxer. The experimental lab-rat from Balrog’s ending in SFIV.

How do you make a hip-hop track stand out? But how? Hip-hop is such a monotone music style, that dynamics doesn’t really exists in its loopable context. I needed to figure out a way to make this track sound more dynamic.

I kept looking for clues in the concept art, but I really had nothing more than the guy in red shoes, black-sports pants and a white shortsleeved hoodie to go on, but then it struck me. Hip-hop has always used orchestral samples. But nobody has done a hip-hop track that actually has a narrative orchestra going throughout the song to really make it dynamic. It was my time to shine. But I still needed to find a way to dirty down a few instruments. I felt that having an old-sounding gramophone piano would be the easiest way to fake an old-sample, but it was actually me performing the piano with an EQ’d in a RADIO/Telephone configuration. Then I added crackles from a vinyl bank from the Stylus RMX library and that pretty much sealed the effect for me. The rest was easy. I needed to make the orchestra sound as good as Don Davis’ one from The Matrix, if I could find the perfect blend between Hip-hop, orchestral and electronica, I felt I would hit the spot.

This was a gamble on my part, but it was the only logical way for me to make the track to stand out. I also changed the bass-line from that 8th beat rock-bass to a solid octave-sweeping synth-bass, reminiscent from my childhood. I remember Digital Underground and The Humpty Dance.(Remember, I was not a hip-hopper) The craziest thing though is that I think they did the right choice. Choosing someone who doesn’t do Hip-hop to create a hip-hop track, will ALWAYS sound UNIQUE. It’s the concept and I thank CAPCOM for their gamble and trust in me.

Now, I was 80% done with the track when I received the next request. -”We’re going to have vocals on this track.” My heart sank a little, because I’ve never really written a rap my entire life. :-”So if I understand you correctly, you want me, a Swedish countryside boy, to write a RAP to one of the most aggressive characters in the game....?”

There was a slight silence on the line but the voice came back on: -”Don’t worry about it. We got a guy who’s on the writing and the rapping. But just keep it in mind when you’re doing the background, ok?” -”Ok, no problem.”

The last 20% turns out that once I get the vocalist tracks into my project, I’ll be done. That was what I was missing. So I just waited. Just a day later I got 2 versions sent to me. But I told myself, if I hear the word FIST in there, it’s going to be a HIT. I was finally thinking like a Music Producer. I dropped the lines in at it’s correct starting points. Version A was playing. The word FIST comes out of my speakers and I was jumping up and down, thinking that IT was EXACTLY what THIS TRACK NEEDED. Did I dare listening to version B? I did another mix and I felt B was a little bit more laidback. As a final request before I was stemming down the final files I urged Capcom to go with Version A, because it was more aggressive and it felt more honest to the character. They agreed on my choice, told me to tell me to prep the files.

And there it was. My first and last song for SFV I thought. But 2 weeks later, I received another phone-call...

MORE UPDATES ON THINGS WHAT HAPPEN

The half week milestone of the hospital house thingie time! I think the term they use for it is "a residential stay"? Cos like its not a hospital its a shared housing block thats just full of doctors. I get to sleep in a real bed and there's a nice community room and board game nights and stuff. But its still really scary how intense the supervision can be! Like they have a window to look into your room once per hour every hour constantly. And they have to go through your undies and catalog them as part of the possessions check. I was not warned about that and it was mega embarassing trying to explain a binder to a bunch of old lady doctors! Oh and i had yo do a urine test today which was possibly the most fuckin embarassing thing in the actual universe. And you're not even allowed to take your own pills! They keep them locked in a big ominous wall of lockers and you have to come into the office and swallow the pill while theyre watching. I guess maybe because some people might be faking their illness and selling their pills on the black market or whatever? But that literally doesnt happen with antidepressants, they have no 'high' or even any effect at all on non-sick people. So it just makes no sense to me and its real embarassing cos like i said i suck at taking pills with plain water and without a straw. The ones i take are real damn chunky things the size of my thumbnail! I think i'l get better at not (literally) choking under pressure over time, tho. Hopefully.

Anyway that's all the bad out of the way! Now the good and the neutral and the just miscellaneous!

Its still nervewracking having to shower in a shared house but they have a cool walk-in shower and ive never tried one of those so it was vaguely interesting. And im allowed to take my showers early at 6am to minimize the chance of anyone else trying to use the door, lol. My biggest fear is having some staff member walk in on me when im naked like back in that homeless hostel. Oh or that time in the homeless hostel where the teenage boys filled the entire bathroom with inflated condoms wall to wall. Like wow so much damn effort to prank the stupid nervous bunni who probably would have been embarassed by literally anything else. Man this place is bringing so many memories of that homeless hostel but at least this time its a place specifically for sick people and they know i'm anxious doing shared cooking and board games and whatever so they dont make fun of me for it. But in a lot of ways that hostel had more freedoms too.. *shrug*

Anyway! A good! I get to have cooking lesson!! I know literally nothing about cooking and now i get to know several thing!! This nice doctor called Josie taught me how to make an omelette and i tasted ham for the first time! That is just how limited my life experiences are, lol. Oh and they want me to say that she's a 'mental health worker' not a doctor, but its all real confusing?? Like they have the staff that look after you and then the only ones we're supposed to call doctors are the ones who actually have the authority to prescribe pills and diagnosies. But like if youre in a hospital you'd call them all doctors, not just the actual surgeon? Or i guess theyre kinda like nursing home staff?? But they cant be support workers cos support workers are specific government assigned inspector type guys like Richard who only meet with you once a week.and i have to remember to not call him a social worker either cos social workers only work with family and custody related stuff. I dunno?? Basically the medical industry has a lot of names that dont really describe what the actual thing is, lol. Anyway the ham omelette was great and now im gonna try and remember so i can try and make it myself next time! HAM ACCOMPLISHED

Also i played bingo with a few other patients and it was fun but funny that i lost 6 times in a row when there were only 3 of us. I got a consolation prize of a pack of neon highlighter pens so hell yeah!!

I'm getting booked in to try some additional classes starting next week on monday and tuesday morning. The computer programming one was sadly unavailable, but i managed tp snag a place in "confidence building group therapy" and "basic how to use power tools". I wasnt really all that interested in that one but i thought it would be a useful skill even if its less fun. And maybe you get to actyally make something to take home at the end? A lil shelf to help organize this awkward lil room better, maybe?

And an unexpected bonus of being semi-hospitalized is that i get a free bus pass! And cos im here cos of my social anxiety theyre gonna help me get outside more and actually use this thing to the fullest! The first thing we did was the trip to actually get the bus pass itself. It was like "bus, take my money to take me to the place where i can never give you money again!" XD Ive been really stupidly nervous about going on tne bus in my old neighbourhood cos MAN it was really isolated there and everything just amplified my mental illness. An almost two hour bus ride to get to ANY SHOPS AT ALL, with only one bus for the whole town so it was always crowded and full of screaming kids and gossipy everyones. Social anxiety: maximum level proud mode!

So yeah i feel BIG ACCONPLISHED! I was able to take this bus for the first time with a doctor coming with me. Power Grandpa The Strong. His actual name is Paul and he has awesome sleeve tattoos of like anchors and dragons and sports teams and stuff! And he likes thrift stores and wearing silly hats too! Its like he's powerful enough to wrestle away everyone's anxieties! I was able to be a bit reckless too and i went out wearing my fave shirt thats like trans pride coloured plaid. A POWERFUL SHIRT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS QUEST! so we went to the office to register this bus pass and i panicked a bit cos apparantky we brought the wrong form and i wrote my name in the wrong box and then my passport photo looked terrible and aaa! But it all worked out and i was kinda freaking out for nothing. And he took me for a lil tour of the place and showed me this cool shop that does spray paint tye dye t shirts with spiderman on them?? Why does this incredibly specific shop exist and how have i never heard of it before?? There was also a new harry potter shop next to the disney shop, and the old used book store i used to visit as a kid was still there, complete with rickety spiral staircase and ominous basement trap door. I'm still not brave enough to go down there, but apparantly its just the history books section so meh. Then we actually went to a fancy coffee shop and i had this brain freeze mango ice frappucchino thing! Im trying all the new foods!!

What was your inspiration for this blog? hoo boy well,,, ultimately i thought of them rooming together and got emotional and made a huge list of headcanons and was like ,,, why not run an askblog for a bit ill just abandon it after three asks lets have some fun. but somehow im still here and i got sucked in by the complexity of michael and jeremy. i know that sounds kinda silly but just, as someone who is dealing with a lot of similar things, like dependency issues and abandonment issues and depression and anxiety, having these fun functioning character to explore was such a gift for me. i believe honestly thats why im still here and doing this. being able to try and portray a healthy relationship and a healthy way of coping and growing has helped me a lot this past month and given me an outlet i didnt have before. an art style question. how do you keep the design of characters consistent from frame to frame? my characters they look a lil different every time I draw em (or a lot different) and it tends to disrupt the flow of my comics/animations ohh boy hoo wee props for doing animations im too scared to give that a whirl but!! it helps that i draw all the panels for an ask on one canvas! so if my next panel is going to be the same character in the same spot just in a diff pose i keep the lower layer on just at low opacity so i can use it as a ref! that helps me a lot!

Any advice for running an ask blog?? i do actually plan on a little story! nothing too huge ahah but i do want this to be mostly run as an askblog! i might leave yall hints in the tags of important storyish posts but for the most part just sending asks should keep the ball rolling

eastern time zone! i have a weird work schedule and usually get out by 10 am - 1 pm or have weekdays off so my posts are kind off all over the place aha!

legit whatever strikes my fancy TBH haha sometimes i get asks that i love but i cant think of anything for them and i save them for some other time if something stikes my inspo. but usually if i can think of something that has more than one word answer and makes me smile i pick that one! sometimes i even come back to an ask i didnt wanna do cause i RANDOMLY THOUGHT OF A GOOD SCRIPT or somehting hahaha

ahhh i love exploring characters different from myself!! i mean i love writing these awkward boys who use silly lingo cause i too am super awkward and use silly lingo BUT i dont play overwatch or listen to the smiths or wanna major in music theory but i feel like michael would like all these things sooo,,, its been fun exploring new things because i want to know more about them for this blog specifically. i dont want to settle on something being their fav just cause i know about it i guess and im having fun with it

it also is nice to explore thingS ive dealt with myself through these boys in a healthy way using what ive learnt about myself and others. i deal with dependency issues and i always read michael as having them as well? but i didnt deal with them in a healthy manner for a while and ive learnt how to be better about it. and just ,,, being able to help these fictional boys in a way i struggled with is really refreshing and helps me a lot
