FEAT... itto

A/N... i'm planning to do this with more characters in the future, so lmk who's camera roll you'd like to see next!

✧ first and foremost, it wouldn't be itto's camera roll if it didn't have beetles! (he loves you more than beetles though, not to worry) there are beetles fighting, beetles on rocks, beetles on trees, beetles sleeping, beetles eating, even a beetle on his head, oh and a beetle on ushi. speaking of ushi, there are quite a few photos of him too, most of which when he's asleep or cheering itto on in his... courageous beetle battles.

✧ now that's over and done with, it's time to get to the more interesting photos, don't let him hear you say that though, you'll never hear the end of it.

✧ he has countless photos of you, probably hundreds, maybe even thousands, it's impossible to tell. initially, he had a folder named "my numero two-no", which he soon gave up on after returning home from your second date with 87 photos of you (and some of him too, his is numeru uno after all). let me share with you some of his favourites...

✧ a photo of him giving you a piggy back ride; his most prized possession. he misses you? he'll look at that photo. you're sad? well you're smiling now, because he's just sent you that photo. it's his home screen, his lock screen, his profile picture on almost every social media account he owns - the list goes on and on. shinobu is genuinely sick to death of that photo, and (mentally) retches every time she sees it.

✧ a photo he asked some passers-by to take of the two of you infront of the naganohara fireworks show, his right arm wrapped around your waist and pulling you close, his left hand holding up the peace sign. his smile is almost as bright as the fireworks themselves, lighting up your heart every time you look back on it. you're to the left of itto, also holding up the peace sign, but reaching up your other hand to hold his chin, squeezing his cheeks ever so slightly. he always says he looks silly, but you think he looks absolutely adorable and (of course) very, very handsome.

✧ last but not least, a series of photos showcasing the pair of you chasing each other around in an empty field. said photos were taken by genta (one of the arataki gang members), and not a single one of them is clear. scroll fast enough and it becomes a very blurry stop motion video of a beautiful couple chasing eachother lovingly through a romantic field of greenery... or atleast that's how genta put it. it was undeniably a complete mess, but the pair of you loved them nonetheless, and have laughed at them a hundred times over, itto's face mere moments before he loses his footing never failing to amuse you.

✧ anyone could tell from this man's camera roll alone that he absolutely adores you; the way his eyes shine whenever he scrolls onto a picture of you giving it away, whether you're beaming at the camera or pouting at itto, who was smirking back at you with a smug expression.

✧ there's a video that you don't even know about, but the oni finds himself watching over and over. it was taken, unsurprisingly, by the gang members from the perspective of a bush... can you see where this is going? once the camera is finally wiped clean and starts to focus, you come into frame, seemingly returning from a visit to the bathroom. it's crystal clear when and where this was recorded: yours and itto's first date. only after the 6 minute mark do things start to get interesting, the harsh muttering and whispered bickering silencing as itto leans over the table, inches away from your face but hesitating to get any closer... until you pull him in by the chin, pouring your entire heart out into this singular kiss. every time he watches it back, his heart skips a beat, remembering how you had been so gentle with him, yet showed him just how much you wanted him. it truly was a magical night.

Scrapbooking

Ft. Xiao, Kazuha, Itto, Cyno, Wanderer, Alhaitham, Albedo, Tighnari x gn!reader 

Warnings: Slightly OOC, a few grammar mistakes.

Xiao:

You first suggested the idea of keeping a scrapbook with him when confronted with the problem of your own mortality and the inevitability of fate that most of everyone had to learn to accept. Yet it wasn’t your own end that you were worried for, but rather how Xiao would handle it. Making an album of sorts like this was your way of memorializing all the moments you had together so that the two of you would be able to look back on them in future times.

He probably doesn’t like getting his own pictures taken, and would much rather turn the camera’s lens towards you, so if you either have to compensate by taking selfies with both of you instead, or play a few tricks and catching him by surprise.

Spending time with him doing activities more relaxing like cutting out little paper stars to decorate the pages would definitely be a new experience for Xiao. One time he tried to draw the two of you together but it turned out a little bit questionable ??? (you still pasted it in the book, though). 

When the qingxins begin to bloom, he would pick a few to press and dry for the book because the heart shaped leaves remind him of you. There would definitely be a few other kinds of flowers though, and when you asked why, Xiao would probably explain that they were the other yakshas’ favorites.

You found out that when Xiao thinks you’re not looking, he’d steal a few photos of you that you prepared to be pasted into the book for himself, so you always have to bring a few more pictures just in case.

Treasures the book and protects it with his life like it’s your child LMAO he may find it hard to admit, but really does care about the book especially since you put so much effort into it.

Kazuha:

Kazuha doesn’t mind doing something as domestic as making a scrapbook with you, and would probably suggest it first.

He definitely has a couple pages just full of leaves that he thought looked nice on his walks out.

Other times, you’d find new pages full of scraps of paper that Kazuha scribbled haikus down on, and they all share one thing in common: the subject is you.

Kazuha might begin collecting little rolls of decorative tape too, buying them from crafts stores back at inazuma. I imagine they’d have his signature leaf motifs and also the traditional inazuman ones on them. He’d probably find any excuse he has to use those tape rolls because of how colorful they are… like imagine little tanuki or foxes running across every page.

Contrary to some other people, Kazuha would have no problems taking photos with you, and would take a liking to bringing the camera along in all your travels. He’s very connected and in touch with the world around him, so being able to capture any moment he wishes is an appealing thought. Because of this, your scrapbook is going to be filled with photos of not just the two of you, but also stray cats on the streets, scenic views upon the Crux, firework shows in Inazuma….and the list goes on.

But of course, his favorite part of all of this is spending time decorating the pages with you! His favorite colors to use would of course be the colors of the leaves (they’re practically his brand at this point). If you happen to like those colors too, he’d be even giddier, gladly coloring in any blank spaces with colored pencils. Overall, Kazuha has a lot of time on his hands, but knows that his time is not eternal, so he treasures the book because it allows him to hold onto the past, reminding him when he forgets.

Itto:

Itto is definitely the type to go through all the trouble folding origami stars (especially with how clumsy he could be)…and then get sad when he realizes that they’re going to get crushed if he actually puts them in the book. So you also get him a little jar to put the stars in. Off-topic, but he probably also likes writing little wishes on the strips of paper before folding them into stars, so he gets really excited and thinks that the stars actually work whenever one of those wishes comes true. Who knows, maybe he’s right and there is a paper star god out there listening in on his wishes.

There would probably be a record of all the beetle duals that he has won and badly drawn images of his favorite beetles (like those posters in that one beetle event with Itto 💀).

And like his artwork, his handwriting probably isn’t the most outstanding, safe to say. Despite how enthusiastic Itto may be with the prospect of creating a scrapbook with you, there’s a slight learning curve when it comes to him. But in the end, it’s a good thing for him to try something new that doesn’t require so much energy to maintain. 

Unexpectedly, the book fills up extremely quickly with all kinds of photos (even a few blurry ones because Itto didn’t want to throw any of them out). But that’s all because his simple presence is enough to make the passing of time feel special.

Now that you’ve made one with him, he’s probably eager to share the craft with the rest of the gang too. Whether they pick up on it or not is a different story, but Shinobu is probably the most glad to finally have a way for Itto to sit down quietly.

Cyno:

Cyno might use the scrapbook to also store some of his limited edition tcg cards since he treasures them so much. You thought it was your shared scrapbook, but NO. It was all for Cyno and his card games 💀. All jokes aside though, he would agree to make a scrapbook with you without much hassle. He doesn’t have much free time on his hands between being the General Mahamatra and spending much of his breaks on winning Genius Invocation games, but he’ll somehow always have time for his lover.

Enjoys taking pictures a lot. During hangouts with his friends, he especially likes to photograph his victories…much to the “annoyance” of his colleagues. Still, not all the photos are of Tighnari or Kaveh malding. There are images of group get-togethers at fancy restaurants, birthdays gone by, and festivals spent with smiles. In this way, it shows that despite Cyno’s tough exterior, he does care a lot for his friends.

He probably has a stamp with his name on it with something strange like “CYNO CERTIFIED” and enjoys imprinting it on random pages that he makes. Especially on pages with your photos on them LMAO.

Other than that, he treats the scrapbook more like a photo album. He probably isn’t as heavy on the more artistic approaches to this kind of project, all that matters is that it serves its original purpose of containing your memories together.

Was eating and got tomato or whatever on a page. It's a treasured and framed piece of artwork now.

Alhaitham:

Alhaitham has probably already tried something like this before. Being that he is the scribe of the Academiya, recording the important moments in his life would only come as natural with the nature of his profession as well. However, he treats the whole thing as more of a duty and job that he must do rather than a simple past time. 

He probably has an assortment of pens and inks, so you can expect all kinds of scriptures written down in the book. Alhaitham himself isn’t picky, and most were likely simple gifts from occasions such as his birthday, so he’s even alright with you keeping a few (he’s keeping the set you gave him though–no take backs).

Sometimes you might find him reading the book like it’s some advanced piece of literature. Don’t mind him he’s just lost in his thoughts analyzing every single page. If it makes him happy, so be it.

Takes a photo of the two of you and fashions a bookmark out of it. It's his uncontested favorite now, and specially reserved for the scrapbook.

Loves watching you decorate the book, and especially loves watching you treat his photos like they’re some ancient artifact. It makes him feel all special and pampered inside.

Once he’s done with the first book, he starts another, and then another, and another… It only makes sense to keep the series updated as time goes on, but sometimes you wonder if the grind is getting to him LKAJSF;SA

Albedo:

THE artist. This man’s illustrations are PEAK. He’s one for perfection, striving to capture the world not only digitally with a Kamera but also by hand. In fact, he prefers to do it this way because the process of creating something with his own hands is more memorable to him.

One time he got distracted in the middle of an illustration of Sumeru’s fungi that you asked him to draw and gave them faces??/ that looked strangely like the two of you??? To this day you have no idea what was going on in his mind when he suddenly changed the drawing from scientific to horrific /j but its a unique addition to the book so that’s that ig

But of course, that doesn’t mean Albedo’s photographs are any less beautiful. 

The angles, scenes, framing, and even the filters that were applied were perfected. Sometimes you wonder what his profession would be if he wasn't currently under the Knights of Favonius.

Worries and applies a TON of varnish onto a few pages of the scrapbook. That way the art and photos would last longer.

Takes extremely good care of the book and makes extra caution when he realizes that it may be in danger of Klee (he has all his best work in there man).

Wouldn't tell you it, but he's super proud of having made the book with you, and loves looking over it in his free time as an energy booster LMAO.

Tighnari:

Just like Albedo, I feel that Tighnari would be pretty decent at this kind of activity. With the journaling that must come with his work as a forest ranger, his attention to detail is extremely keen. Not to mention the fact that drawing and taking pictures would be much more familiar to him as well. 

Tighnari would definitely prefer glue sticks to liquid glue, the reason being that there may have once been a small accident resulting in a bottle of runny adhesive spilling all over his fluffy tail. 

He might’ve screamed like a little kid and acted a little grumpier than usual for a whole week.

But with a lot of reassurance from you that all the “bad glue” had been sealed and locked up (“to never see the light of day ever again”), he was willing to try again. 

Unlike Cyno who’s pretty barebones with his work, I think Tighnari would like to dress up the pages that he decorates a bit more. Not too much to the point that it’s overbearing, but a couple ribbons and stickers would do.

The stickers in question are all of little squirrels and birds. THEY'RE sO CUTE KJJDDJLKD

Makes the squirrels stare at the pictures of flowers he took because it's more "accurate that way". In the same manner, he also likes putting stickers of birds around you like you're a Disney princess of some sort.

can u imagine lmao the awkward silences don't exist bc satoru is always talking and everyone is sitting around the table just staring at him. grimmjow is like "wanna see me do a backflip" bc the cameras are rolling. itto is the sexy pool boy STILL even in midwinter.

the sudden face in the dark (plus the convenient side lights on the car that really helped with the surprise) was luckily, not enough for you to physically show your fear (unluckily enough to make you feel like you're shitting yourself.)

as ITTO's face grew from intimidating to confused (a facial expression that's probably common, considering that he hangs out with people who work at a law firm), you heard HEIZOU attempting to stifle a laugh. 

"pfft-" the grin cracking through his face was enough to give it away. "now this—"

he was cut off by his own giggles.

"—this is something i didn't expect!"

"dang it!" he exclaimed, spontaneously losing his balance and rolling down the hood of the car. a thud and a muffled "ouch" (which wasn't as loud as you thought it would be,) shortly followed after.

distracted, you didn't notice that the maroon-haired attorney had his phone out before you heard the shutter of a phone camera not too far from your ear. 

"what? don't look at me like that," he responded as you shot him a dirty look. "shinobu needs a picture for your i.d. later... it'll do her good to save her the trouble!"

"as if she'll need a picture like that!" you grumbled, your clearly peeved expression going under heizou's radar for a few seconds before he finally noticed it. before he can speak up, you took the joy of cutting him off. 

"is it too much to ask you to take me seriously?!"

heizou, a little surprised that you had gotten through with your outburst, could only mutter before turning back to the wheel of his car, "no... it's not. c'mon, itto. hop in back."

those three words were the conclusion of that discussion.  

the forest's countless trees dispersed until he drove back into the highway nearing the city. you started to feel guilty... even though he didn't seem to be too affected, pouring out some pent up aggression wasn't going to solve a case. besides that, it was a given that heizou was annoying you for this whole car trip, but that didn't warrant a reaction like that.

with the detective making a turn to the same street the legal firm was located, itto started to get fidgety and sink into his seat while your thoughts itched the back of your mind.

"how far is it?? i need to pee...!"

"shouldn't be too far, mr. itto."

your thoughts plagued your mind even further on the impression you've made on heizou. this was your first job in your career! something like that could, as far as you know, mark the end of your time here in the legal field!

you'd try to calm yourself down... surely that heizou wouldn't be that petty.

even then... your personal conscience couldn't let this go.

"...i'm sorry. i was being unprofessional," you finally spoke up after an agonizing time in your thoughts. his green eyes were still on the road, but you can tell heizou paid attention. "i shouldn't have lashed out like that."

"guys..." itto started to trail off, only to be mercilessly ignored by you and heizou.

"no, no... i really don't mind," heizou let a smile stretch his lips a bit, ignoring itto's worried voice. "it's nothing that i can't handle, but you're right. it's not exactly a good look for me as your superior to go behind your back."

"guys."

"hold on itto, we're almost there. as i was saying... i can understand your sentiment. though, if there's something that anyone can say about working with me, i think a certain level of trust is needed—"

"HEIZOU."

"what's the matter, mr. itto?" his mood heavily contrasted itto's increasingly anxious demeanor. if anything, heizou was getting increasingly more relaxed. did that outburst weigh on him as well...?

"it's nothing, uh... can't you make your car windows darker or something??"

"i'm a detective, not a secret agent," he chuckled. "why do you ask-?"

all of a sudden, bright red and blue lights started flashing on heizou's face and the rest of the car—you didn't even register what was going on until heard blaring sirens from behind.

the detective took a few minutes to glance behind him, then turning his attention back on the big man behind him. "okay... i need you to stay calm-"

"i am calm!"

"...right. anyways, there's a tarp on the floor below your feet. i want you to lie down on the floor, take that tarp, and put it on top of you. got that?"

"aye aye!"

"you seem to know what you're doing," you weren't sure if this was the best time for sarcasm, ut you went ahead and gone through with it anyways.

"naturally. it's very common when you start working here."

you didn't question if he was playing along or not. 

he continued to drive along his merry way, though much slower than before. a serious expression was on his face—you didn't know why, but you already miss his usual, more playful attitude. 

for a tense moment, the officers in the car passed by. the ambience inside heizou's car still remained that way. 

you looked to the road ahead of you to distract yourself. from there, you noticed the driver in the car in front of you putting up a hand signal.

they weren't pulling you three over.

in a horrifyingly perfect sync, all of you let out a sigh of relief. 

"it's just a driving violation," you observed after recovering from that possible ordeal.

"alright, itto! you can come out now," heizou said as he stretched a bit. if you didn't know any better, you would've thought he was sitting so swiftly like that for an eternity.

"ugh, i could've died in there!" the long, silver-haired man complained as he emerged clumsily from the tarp. 

just then, an idea popped in your head.

"say... it's itto, right? i believe we haven't officially introduced each other before."

"in the flesh!" it was amusing to see him so sunny in spite of the current bounty on his head based on that close call minutes before.

"good!" you smiled, digging through your bag to find a notepad and something to write with. "i'm [name], by the way, and i just want to ask a few questions, is all."

"of course! arataki 'the great answerer' itto won't let any question fester...! whatever that word means."

"that wasn't one of your best epithets, itto."

"shut up and let me answer their questions!"

"alright, alright," heizou had his hands up, pretending to stand down as he leaned against the car door, clearly interested to see how you're going to handle an interrogation.

 "okay... where were you the night of diluc's crash?"

"classic, though i admit can be overplayed..." you ignored heizou's comments and continued on.

"i was climbing a tree to get this super rare onikabuto—"

"really? i'm somewhat of a onikabuto affieciando myself... what kind is it?"

"hmm... i don't remember what it's called, but it's big and it's like... a darker purple than usual!"

"yeah, i think i know what you mean... do you know what time it was when you left your house?"

"uh... no. the sun was just starting to set, and i know that when the moon was high up in the sky, that there's bound to be those kind of beetles around."

"okay!" you eagerly wrote his paraphrased words down. "you were walking to the street, correct?"

"that's right! though i have been meaning to get a car..."

"was there anybody that you knew that was there?"

"no..." his voice started to hint suspicion. you couldn't blame him—itto definitely hasn't known you for very long... but you were hoping to get another question in before his suspicions peak.

"that's okay! can you tell me about your gang members?"

his eyebrow arched. there we go...

"what are you going to do with that information, hmm?"

"don't worry. this isn't going to go against you."

"that doesn't matter!" he passionately exclaimed in his seat. "i consider their lives more important than my own!"

you doubt that members of the arataki gang had anything to do with itto's case, but you did appreciate his loyalty towards his friends (as naïve and misguided as it is.)

"it's okay, mr. itto," heizou came back into the conversation, calmly assuring him. for a second, you forgot he was even here.

"heizou's right. this is kind of a... a formality," a  white lie couldn't hurt anyone, right? "it's just to get evidence for your case. we know that your friends had nothing to do with this, we just need to prove it. just give me their names and a brief description of what they look like."

"i dunno... how do i know that you aren't gonna rat them out?" itto jabbed an accusing finger in your direction, making you sigh. 

before you could say anything to defend yourself, heizou quickly nestled himself into the crook of your neck, using his mouth to cover his lips as he whispered, "give him a peck on the cheek."

"what-?!"

"uh-uh now, just listen," that compelled you to shut up. you didn't want to make itto more suspicious than he already was. "it works like a charm—never get's over it."

"you're saying that like you know from experience."

once again, he refused to elaborate. instead, he sat back down on his chair, waiting to see your next move. 

you could only sigh as you pushed shinobu's "yeah, an orientation in filing a harassment lawsuit," to the back of your mind. maybe it wouldn't hurt trying.

"please, mr. itto?" you did your best heizou impression, ignoring the way he scrunched his face in the near distance. "for me?"

"not a chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaance," the moment you gave him a quick kiss on his cheek, he seemed to be in a state of paralysis for a good few seconds, his eyes twitching and his face somewhat flushed. 

it was then you started to think something genuinely happened, so you started to wave your hand around to get a reaction out of him. 

"itto...? are you there??" your voice gradually got louder and louder, trying to break through his mind and get him to answer your questions. though currently... you're afraid that you broke him instead. "can you please my questions?"

"of course i can!" his exclamation made you jump in your seat. "that what arataki 'the great answerer' itto is best at!!"

"wow, you made him use the same epithet twice in a row... maybe we should get you to work on his cases more often," heizou smirked as you shot him a glare. turning to itto, you let a smile of satisfaction grace your lips.

"okay... can you detail the arataki gang members, please?"

without fail, he listed all of them out one by one as you jotted it down, even including small tidbits on their personality, leading you to decide on some people you should investigate later on—

"oh, there's someone else in the gang, though they're on the tip of my tongue," itto clicked his mouth a bit, trying to put his finger on it. "got it! how could i forget! it's my right-hand man—er, woman."

"really?" you didn't think you'd end up writing another person on the key people list, so you had to scurry and scavenge your bag with something to write with and on. "who would that be...?"

"easy! she works at the same place you work!"

maybe you haven't met her before?

"can i get a name-"

"shinobu, of course!"

if you were drinking something, you definitely would've spit it out by now. naturally, heizou was practically dying in his corner, already parked in front of fontaine legal firm.

"i'm sorry, what—"

"you heard me right!" he proclaimed with the upmost of pride. "she's the proud deputy officer of the arataki gang!"

based on a certain detective's obviously stifled laughter, you could tell that itto wasn't lying. 

"how did you even get her to join your gang??"

"great question," heizou spoke up again, this time not struggling every few seconds to breathe. "even i don't know."

"intuition has its limits?"

"naturally."

"it's a top secret of the arataki gang!" itto puffed out his chest, as if that presented a barrier: an opaque glass screen as to how shinobu joined. whatever—as much as your curiosity grew and grew, it wasn't crucial to the case.

"thank you, itto!" you said, placing your notes back into your bag. 

"don't mention it!" he relaxed on his seat, a wide, toothy grin stretching his face. it swiftly morphed into a frown when a strangely loud growl roared through his stomach as he looked through the side windows. "oh, we're already here? let's go then!"

"agreed," heizou smirked while propping open the car. "i'm starving."

[People you think are sparkling]

It’s not a person, but Gachapin! Gachapin is amazing! Really! It can do anything, and it remains as itself whenever and wherever it is. I appeared in Live News Itto! the other day with Gachapin and even went to a location to shoot. Gachapin is already very popular so all the people who went to town were very happy to see Gachapin. It was waving its hands to people even when the cameras weren’t rolling. I saw that and thought “Gachapin is the very image of an idol!”! Aside from that, Gachapin even danced Brother Beat perfectly and was adlibbing during a live stream to follow me up. Rather than saying Gachapin is sparkling, it feels more like: "This is what an idol should be!” I want to work with my super senpai Gachapin again.

I make sure I get a lot of sleep on the day before a live performance. Kind of like how if I don’t charge myself properly then I won’t be able to emit light. As expected, it’s important to make sure that my physical condition is in tip-top shape so that my eyes shine bright (on stage). On that note, Naniwa Danshi’s Ryuche (Onishi Ryusei) is amazing! It really looks like he has stars in his eyes (laughs)! His eyes are really shining, and he’s cute! He really seems like an idol from his core! Of course, he is active in his group but he is also doing solo activities like acting in dramas which makes me think “He is shining as always~”. ... Ah, I’m supposed to talk about a skill that makes me shine (laughs). Maybe it’s enjoying everything? I feel like I sparkle when I instinctively enjoy something. 

[An episode where you weren’t sparkling]

When I appeared at variety shows, there are times when I did what I thought would be good for the show but it ended up backfiring! When that happens, I go home and be like “Haaa~”. But I sleep before doing a self-review of what I did (laughs). That’s because I suddenly get ideas after waking up in the morning like “Uwaah, I should have done this yesterday!”. And I want to make use of that insight next time! Variety is really hard. There is probably nothing to get used to (because variety is unpredictable/ has no script).

For the last couple weeks, I've been on a big grinding kick in Genshin again... it's been something, that's for sure. But I got a lot done (for some reason).

Did the Narzissen quest line and explored a good chunk of Fontaine

I'm more or less finished off the Mond book domain. There's only Anemo Traveler left at 6/6/6, but since swirl scales from EM anyway, the talent levels aren't important enough for me to do another 114 gold books right now (for context, that's two weeks or so of doing the mond book domain every single day).

I did buy Welkin, so I'm going to keep logging in for the next few weeks, but I'm going to take it easy otherwise. My only current plan is to mess around in the teapot. I've finished another of the farming achievements, so I'll take the opportunity to rearrange the second area of Emerald Peak (since I can remove those fields). That should complete it, since I finally furnished the fourth area, and I've got some plans for Floating Abode next.

For future grinding, I should do artifacts (Deepwood/Gilded, then Emblem) and also the slow march to triple crown the next batch (Baizhu, Qiqi, Ayato). For future pulls, my priority will be Itto, Childe, and Neuvillette (for his kit lol), but since I don't care about the 4 stars now that I have C4 Thoma, it's just a matter of dumping everything I have into whoever comes around first and whether I get them or not isn't really pressing. The pity will carry over anyway. (Alhaitham and Wriothesley will be skips for now.)

On main:

prefarmed Navia levelling stuff (no artifacts or weapon for now, pending what the build guides will say)

obtained Kirara, currently finishing her last ascension

done most of Fontaine exploration, with every area except the Court at 100%

finished all world quests that aren't gated by the archon quest

finished all achievements except the commission and archon quest ones

Man, Genshin exploration is so... you just turn your brain off, and then suddenly it's six hours later. Repeatedly. Still kinda fun seeing the numbers go up though. Hopefully, the final region will be pretty small and easy to complete... But I'm 8 hydroculi short, which is not a good sign, since I can't get the resonance stone formula (no archon quests = no reputation).

The world quests this time were kind of a mixed bag, but mostly a miss. I liked the stuff about the Melusines and Elynas, very uh Durin-style. Generally, the Melusines kind of grew on me, though I still don't like their design, especially the bottom half. I liked the Pahsiv quest too, and unexpectedly the final little quest with Lanoire. (The handling of the camera on the small interactions at the very end?? Dang, who knew Genshin could do that kind of fine detail.) However, I really did not care about the Narzissenkreuz at all, or the Fontaine Research Institute stuff. The Narzissen fiasco was especially very tedious and convoluted. I know it's setting up Sandrome, but like... a perfect example of the issues with Genshin's lore and how it negatively warps the current day storyline, plus the worst of their excesses.

I'm going to be rolling for Navia in 4.3 because she is Geo (easy guarantee to get her, with 150 saved wishes, 10 pity, and 22K primos), and I'm considering the weapon banner. I think it'll come down to what the 4 stars will be (I really want Akuoumaru refines, so I might decide based on which half it's on). I did also fish for Kirara on the Ayato banner, and I did get her within 20 pulls, so that was great. She was the last pre-Fontaine 4 star I was missing, and I wanted to go ahead and build her. I'm not taking the Fontaine 4 stars past lv20, and now the only "backlog" character I am missing is Dehya.

I also... got Qiqi C1 in those twenty or so pulls. So hey, guarantee on Navia, which will put me quite a bit over budget. I can save for supposedly-Geo Chiori and Arlecchino, who has actual pants, holy shit. (That said, where's my Mond boy, Mihoyo??)

This 4.2 patch and the upcoming 4.3 one have some nice QoL updates, which bring some much needed minor conveniences. For me, the most impactful was probably the ability to quickstart weekly bosses. (Farming Apep on my alt to finally get some Dendro crystals, god...) But shout out to being able to unlock but not start story quests, and being able to replace daily commissions with exploration or events.

For next patch, we'll be able to one-click collect and resend expeditions and start at the key when doing a domain multiple times. Tiny things but holy shit, they're finally actually updating something. Man, if I drag this out enough, maybe they'll let you quickstart reputation too. And maybe even a goddamn skip button one day... we can dream.

But I gotta say the most exciting thing for next patch is probably the annual Lost Riches rerun with the new water-capable mini seelie. Really want that for my alt, where I have almost no pets.

which is well, uhm, how would my beloved characters in game waiting for all that time like, react or sum, because when i didn’t get itto r8 away i fr showed my disappointment quite clearly, even as far as too change my signature to ‘sad itto wanter’ or smthg like that, and even loudly said ‘if i don’t get itto i’m not gonna play anymore’ out of spite, honestly i was just trying out reverse psychology just to see if he was gonna come home😭😭😭 and during them dark days after that, i kinda feel really bad because i’ve had my share of more frequent ‘prolly-not-self-aware-moments-but-im-gonna-say-it-is-bc-they-were-too-weird-not-to-be-one’ moments, and after the electricity came back, we just borrowed the ones next door’s wifi(we share a wall, and their wifi wouldn’t reach the computer😭) and i’ve been like having my musical moments each night and i cried on one of em bc i miss playing, and wow genshin yt channel really added more salt to the wound by posting that lantern rite cutscene for 2.4, which i just viewed an hour it was uploaded, and i saw everyone and man, i just felt quite melancholicj jcjdjdjej.

And i just started to try out bennett too right before i logged off for that day in watatsumi doing that stupid spectre commission again, along with his new team, with xingqiu, kaeya and diluc— bennett’s spot was initially for itto but i put him there out of spite, and yes diluc is the first 5 star i got from gacha :D, i been wanting that man ever since i saw that cutscene in the wolf temple dkeekkkd. *sigh* i literally left them right aftera week i got diluc, then i got sara, bennett & xiangling, and since i always never am screaming out of happiness when i do get a character, it was really a shock, because man i feel like an orphanage hahaha, but i try my best to love all that i have, even if i seem quite cold bc i am the literal personification of diluc when i play the game bc i didn’t wanna look weird fangirling ahahahaha

so how would they deal with this, my 19 children, (btw i use lumine) my lovely characters: the amazing free 6 characters(w aloy, and i literally always played w my starter lol, just started using kaeya again too bc i kinda neglected him in favor of the girls, and he was kinda useless in dragonspine for the *real*best boi’s team, f u itto, u lost ur best boi status— i’m dreading his hangout too & m8 fall inlove again and i havent even completed the inazuma archon quest lol), diona(i was abt to do finally do her hangout the next time i played but odette happened), yanfei(i think she in my teapot— no w8 i benched her for now bc i got an influx of characters), xingqiu(literally when i got him he became the new lumine, he’s in the new team maksks man i rlly do favor him huh, i mean it’s a given bc i fell in love with him too), rosaria(best dps of mine, was my fave too bc i love that polearm gameplay ever since i tried out xiangling lol, still never did spirals abyss ahaha) FishcL(she gets to live in my teapot now with my library), beidou(i love her man, she was literally a suprise- like my existence and man i love her counter ability dmdmdk), then sucrose, noelle & ningguang(placed them in teapot bc they deserve their own spaces, and i need noelle to take a fricken break, and i’m planning her to be my budget itto now too and neglected her far too long), diluc(gave him the fish, man he is now the new xingqiu too, but xingqiu supremacy still tho), then bennett and xiangling(xiangling fr couldn’t wait for me to get to the spiral abyss and just came home instead), initally i was gonna farm good artefacts for all of them but 3 children got left on the doorstep, and now they’re all sharing artefacts, but i’m still gonna farm at the same time tho-

too bad they’re alone now, i wonder how they reacted when i actually unintentionally followed through my statement of not playing bc of itto, and the hope they might have had when the mail finally had smthg in it then not again, and then again for an everyday to an entire month now, but not playing?? which they might know i wouldn’t do bc i wouldn’t willingly miss an event especially a free ningguang skin?! And a potential yunjin?!
