I agree with everything you said often on the internet people jump to call others all kinds of -ists and -phobes and I’m not saying that these people necessarily aren’t those things but there’s a difference between someone who truly believes these oppressive and harmful things and genuinely has hatred for minorities vs someone who might just be ignorant/ doesn’t really think. On top of that people will bring things from 10 years ago and say that someone is currently that -ist or phobe and it’s like are they? Can’t people change? Not saying you have to forgive everyone and I definitely wasn’t running around saying slurs or anything 10 years ago but, people can change I’m more progressive and more educated about things than I was 10 years ago yknow? I probably said some ignorant shit back then but I wasn’t posting it on the internet which was my saving grace idk like you said things are more of spectrum and have more nuance than the internet allows for.
yeah like if matty doesn't want to be called a n*zi he probably shouldn't be throwin' the arm up like that but also if you see the people he surrounds himself with you can infer he's probs not about to go full HH right wing militia. except some of the discourse makes it sound like he is???? and it's like why are we having such rapid escalations now?
also YES like one time five-ish years ago my bf accidentally misgendered someone and like a group of people unloaded the chopper on him glrjageijajhh. like yes he was defs using the wrong pronouns and should have been corrected but it rapidly went from 'tolerance and acceptance 😌' to 'ah yes another hetero transphobe.' not that everyone needs to be on their 'assume positive intent' bullshit 24/7 but SO much of this n*zi-hunt shit could be avoided if people took a moment to examine the entire situation before labeling someone. like besties im sorry but if we're gonna put matty healy, nick fuentes, and hitler on the same level then we might have a problem
(also like entirely unrelated but i dont think kanye is truly on that level either and instead espouses that shit because he is in a mental health crisis BUT again i do not know these people so maybe he really is!!!! idk!!!!!) (i do think kanye is stupid and easily influenced and genuinely holds right-wing beliefs tho just to clear that up)
society doesn't have a 'bad things' spectrum anymore (if it even ever did)!!!
#its weird bc people are like 'excuse so and so's actions bc they're on the autism spectrum'#and we all agree that sexuality is a spectrum#and we have a political spectrum#but when it comes to social ideologies or controversies then suddenly it's like.....no time for nuance!!!!#and i completely understand this because when someone hurts my feelings or does something i dont like#i want REVENGE glajgjeiaj like no time to factor in their feelings or experiences get them out NOWWW#but in actuality its like....okay this person did this so what is the rational response#like my mom literally went to a segregated high school#like literally had an active klan chapter in her area#and im supposed to be like yes mom i know how you feel bc matty healy made an ice spice joke on red scare#im not tryna get ate up by my own mama!!!!#poddyrants#matty healy#taylor swift

i think the hate comes from the fact she still does try to justify/excuse Razor, despite hearing from many cats how horrible he was to them. like we know he is an abuser and a rapist. she thinks it's bizarre/odd/whatever that his rape victim (Scorch) calls the idea of him being sweet and caring 'nightmarish'. brother or not, he is emotional, physical and sexual abuser, and she still seems to find it weird that cats dont… tolerate him in the slightest. that does rubs as rape/abuse apologism bc 'he was nice to ME and he is MY FAMILY, he would NEVER do something like that..' soo many irl families have sadly ('no way my son could had possibly violated someone. this bitch is clearly lying and trying to ruin our family' type of shit you know)
like yeah having to live for months with people (cats) who killed your family member celebrated it is harsh, i do give her that ofc. on top of her kitten crash and being more or less forced to tend them or else, and she is in no good shape to properly accept and internalize the Shadow Truth. but many people irl dealt with people like her, trying to bend over and backwards to justify their family members and friends, even after coming in contact with those who were deeply hurt by them.
That is a good point, I see where you're coming from. Clearly you've been very hurt by this kind of thing in the past and I hope nothing I've done made you feel more hurt.
I was just surprised because Mystique isn't like, for example, a parent who makes excuses for a son who has been accused of sexual assault and insists that he's totally innocent despite evidence to the contrary. She's a victim too, even if she was never physically or sexually assaulted by Razor. All of her denials aren't meant to hurt the victims or protect Razor, they're to protect herself from the terrifying reality of her situation. Does that make what she did right? No, and I don't think I've ever said that, but I do think it makes it less deplorable.
As well, its not like Scorch has told her "he assaulted me." Scorch is VERY private and so that stuff isn't public knowledge. I feel like there might be some projection on to her because of information the audience has that she doesn't. As far as killing Smokyrose, that was framed to the city cats as a casualty of war, not the murder of a peace negotiator, and to her is similar to if say, Razor were a cop who shot somebody. We obviously would find that terrible but from her conservative point of view that's just his job, to protect the city from dangerous cats with lethal force if necessary. When she got to the Clans that became more complicated for her and she's hasn't ever once claimed Razor was in the right to kill her.
What she did ask for was that the fight be solved peacefully. As far as she knows, the Clans are blowing Razor's actions out of proportion and jumping to killing him when there could have been a different solution. Like, imagine if you went to a village and everyone there was like "your brother is an evil murderer" and then failed to present you with any substantial evidence. Who would you want to believe, the strangers ready to kill him or your brother who has only ever been good to you and everyone you know (or at least, you've rationalized his behavior to believe that's the truth, lied to your self enough that you believe it)?
This isn't to trivialize what you went through or excuse real life cases of people who deny heinous acts. This is simply to say, I feel like anyone who hates Mystique isn't engaging with the entirety of the story I'm telling. I understand, though, that this could be because of a defensive reaction and I don't mean to put any blame on someone who might be feeling that way. This is a complicated topic and its possible for neither party to be the bad guy in this situation.

Kinda upset at Transformers: Rise of the Beasts... Spoilers Ahead, be warned. (Edited bc I'm dumb and forgot the mid-credits scene.)
Firstly, we got very little "beast" action compared to the Autobots. They were there and cool as hell, but we didn't see much of them in their other forms, or fighting, they just helped the plot along. It sucks because they had so much potential, yet we got "they're animals but ooh here look at Optimus, he's got explosions!"
Secondly, I spotted WAY too many Transformers: Prime "references". The giant spire that summoned unicron looked nearly IDENTICAL to Darkmount, the spire that Megatron erected in TFP. It was way too much to be "inspired by" to me. Also, Bee dying trying to save Prime and being brought back by some mystic energy which nobody knew was possible is another thing. (I'm less picky about that on its own but added onto the other things, it was too obvious to not call out.) There were a few more I can't remember, but I knew about halfway through the movie how it was gonna end not because it follows a timeline or was from Micheal Bay, but because it was a mix of both Transformers Prime movies.
The main human character, Noah, wears a fucking CORPSE, which just made me unsettled. Mirage dies giving Noah a suit made from himself. I thought maybe Noah would find a way to bring back Mirage or Mirage's spark would still be alive considering the suit HAS POWER. It still fires the guns and has a jetpack! It was even able to come off easy! I understand Mirage wasn't in the next chronological movie in the timeline, but that felt really cheap and just disgusting to watch. He literally was walking inside a corpse, and when I saw him pat the suit at the end, both I and the people I went to looked at each other in what I can only call shock.
Edit: I was wrong, Mirage wasn't dead, he was alive and I forgot about it. I'm gonna keep that part in because
1. It isn't revealed Mirage isn't dead until the mid credits scene so for a hot minute i was still really weirded out. And 2.I'm bitch enough to admit I was factually incorrect.
He was still wearing a fuckin' coma patient! (Though that's a little better than a corpse.)
The first time Optimus Prime fights Scourge, he gets his ass handed to him. I mean, he gets his ass beat so bad he can't even get up to save Bee. Then in the last fight sequence, he beats Scourge nearly flawlessly. I understand that he was injured because of Noah and Mirage and they both did some damage before Prime got there, but if I told a master of Tai Chi to only use one leg to stand on and let me punch him a few times but to still fuck me up, after I'd hit him, I'd STILL be on the ground in four seconds flat. And Scourge was still able to use his foot (although limited), so there's no excuse other than "plot convenience" and less-than-okay writing. It was messy and felt weak.
And the last twist, the G.I. Joe inclusion... I understand that maybe it was an answer to the question "Where do all the people go after the Autobots don't need them or they move on?" It's not my thing, but it's a nicer explanation than "They go on with life." But if they try to bring G.I.Joe and Transformers together, good luck. I'm into crossovers but that's a lot, and I don't know how much I'd be up to watch that. Maybe I'm in the minority (because the person I went with immediately looked at me with a gaping jaw excited as all hell) but that's gonna be hard to pull off. And given the past few movies, I'm not sure how well that's going to work out.
That being said, I liked a few things.
They make Wheeljack a Hispanic Nerd, which was a nice change compared to the "Rooty Tooty Aim and Shooty Badmouths" that we get a lot of in Tranformers. He was witty and a nerd and a damn "hippie van" and was just overall really cute.
Acree was a strong, independent femme bot who don't need no man. Not trying to point out "feminism shit" to make people mad, just trying to say usually Arcee is pictured with Optimus or some other mech, and she held not only her own, but Wheeljack's as well without seeming aggressive or spiteful about it. She just seemed like a bot who was bright pink, which I enjoyed.
In all, I give the movie a solid "Don't ever do that shit again" 5.5/10. Writing this I've changed my rating from 5 to 6 about four times so that's why it's got a .5.

The most annoying thing about this is that they do NOT keep the same energy with Marinette, Chloe has ALWAYS been criticized for her actions. It's SO annoying how they completely dismiss Marinette's mistakes unless it's to paint her as some poor victim like how they do whenever Lila's involved.
Chloe doesn't even feel like a person anymore, just a shell doomed to be some plot point to paint marinette as some angel and then shelved when she doesn't have that purpose other than to ensue chaos. In all honesty Chloe fits all the criteria to be the perfect protagonist of "reincarnated as a villainess" comic, and the story steadily reveals how WRONGED the villainess was and how people choose to turn a blind eye because she had outbursts as a result of trauma. Anyway Mylene was weird for this because all of a sudden she has a sense of justice until its her friend doing morally questionable things, it's SO weird for her to compare trauma like this. She reminds me of Cassie from Euphoria when she started invalidating Rue's trauma because she had something similar happen to her and didn't turn into some drug addict because of it, IT'S ALMOST AS IF PEOPLE DEAL WITH TRAUMA DIFFERENTLY. It's weird how the show chooses to demonize people who struggle as as a result of their trauma to be a good person, NOT EVERYONE DEALS WITH TRAUMA THE SAME, and it's SO annoying because it's so obvious this show DOES NOT care about the message AT ALL and ONLY cares to further establish Chloe as an irredeemable monster. Chloe WAS OPEN TO CHANGE, her motivations were a little corrupt as it was solely for her idol, but it was enough that she WANTED it which is WHY people like her so much, SHE HAD POTENTIAL TO CHANGE. To quote The Good Place "(it doesn't matter) if the motivation is corrupt, with time, the good deeds will start coming naturally. Once we've established that, we can work on the motivation."
The writers just decided to flip it last minute so now any other opportunity given will just be to further prove how she's a bad person at heart bc she doesn't take the chances like the saints Marinette and Zoe do to prove herself, so she should be rightfully hated by everyone despite being a kid, at least according to Thomas Astruc i guess who's NOT at ALL involved in that decision. /s If they wanted to make Chloe and irredeemable monster, they shouldn't have showed an explanation for her behavior and that at some point she was open to changing for the better. If you want shows that tackle the "Victim Mentality" trope, and how trauma does not excuse actions, even SOUTH PARK does an even better job at it. I also recommend Bojack Horseman, which may be a little unfair comparison as they're both adult cartoons (heads up if you're a minor, do not watch those shows) but it's been established already that Miraculous being a kids cartoon does not excuse the lazy and horrible writing. Anyway this is just disappointing and a spit to the face to the fans who hoped for a redemption and its disgusting how little respect the writers (thomas astruc mainly) has for these fans. Had to get this off my chest.
Weird flex Mylene but okay
#not marinette salt btw#love marinette it's her writing that i'm critiquing#not sorry for the rant#chloe bourgeois#sorry for the caps i would've italicized it but im not used to tumblr and im too lazy to go back and fix it#not saying you have to like chloe#people are completely justified in not liking her#but chloe fans are also justified in being disappointed at her character direction

Alright tell me your complaints about the Jekyll and Hyde fanbase, because if you don't my brain is going to subconsciously project mine on you since you mentioned you had them, and that's not very nice. I want to hear your actual thoughts
OH BOY i have a lot of them. i dont think they're necessarily controversial tbh but i do have quite a bit.
my biggest complaint is the woobification of hyde. he's a grown man. he's a grown man that murders someone, and feels good about it. he drinks and has sex (probably) and does all sorts of things. he's not a baby, he's not a chaotic gremlin, he's a grown ass man!!! i also dont like it when ppl liken him to a child/give him child-like characteristics/make him too short. its weird imo. i dont like it. i think ppl should treat hyde like an adult with agency who's responsible for his own terrible actions instead of going oh woe is hyde / he's just a baby or whatever (and tbh i blame tgs a lot for this. no hate towards sabrina i just dont like that hyde is seen as "cutesy" in canon. i think that man doesnt shave his [censored])
the insistence that jekyll and hyde is about good/evil, or that jekyll is secretly bad and hyde is good/vice versa. jekyll sucks, but hyde isn't any better, the end. i don't think jekyll is a good person but he's not like, irredeemable i guess. he just sucks. he just uses hyde as an excuse to kill a guy. fuck alot. do cocaine. i mean who doesn't wanna go nuts sometimes. he can be self destructive as a treat if he wants
that jekyll and hyde are completely separate people. once again i blame tgs for this (sorry sabrina) which is like. its not the point of the story i guess. im a strickler for keeping the original themes, though, so that's just me. but also what comes with that is ppl shipping the two which i just. nope. nope!! i cant do it. in my mind's eye jekyll and hyde, though there is a degree of separation at the end of the story, are the same person. its weird and i dont like it. its only made worse when ppl woobify hyde/make him much younger. it genuinely makes me gag like stop that!!! stop it!!! :(
i dont like the musical. i just dont. im sorry to musical fans everywhere but i dont like it. :( please dont get mad at me for this. i will give them this bring on the men does go hard as fuck though (also anthony warlow's voice. hot damn)
i also dont like tgs as much. i just have issues with the writing (bc once again i love the original book too much) and also utterson isnt even there :( this also brings me into my next point is that UTTERSON!!!! he's funny and lovable and not enough ppl like him and just ignore him in favor of jekyll/hyde or lanyon (once again tgs) and im like :( no.... please....... he's funny and i like him
i think tgs is a fine enough story on its own, putting it nicely at least, but i dont like that it's greatly influenced a lot of ppl's perception of the original story. and this is coming from a former fan. it's led a lot of ppl to woobify hyde/ignore utterson/act like jekyll and hyde are separate/etc etc. just a lot of stuff that goes against the original.
idk what else to put here tbh i probably have more but cant think of any rn. i just think that we need more nuance in our discussions of these characters, shouldn't ignore certain unfavorable facets, and be open to criticism of media we enjoy. and we should also treat grown men like grown men. and be nice to eachother i guess. peace and love.
#answers#jekyll and hyde#the strange case of dr jekyll and mr hyde#btw i noticed your tags on a previous post and YES it is shayfer james. i saw that comment. i see everything#also thank u for liking a bunch of my stuff and sending me an ask <3 i appreciate it

Uh, like: the chant is “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” not … whatever the hell brutally murdering thing you’re thinking of.
"If I completely ignore context and subtect, I can pretend there's no issue with the statement at all!"
Are some people going to a fucked up antisemitic place right now? Yes. Does that excuse the Israeli apartheid state and their genocide of the Palestinian people? Not remotely.
I like how you can only use vague language to describe the racist idiots on the left - and only their state of mind, not their actions - but Israel's alleged wrongdoing gets a dramatic, emotional, and incorrect NPC description.
Some people are antisemitic and Israel is still guilty of human rights abuses. Both things can be true.
Gee, I wonder which side you're on. It's not like you clearly spent most of your effort going "Israel bad" and not really decrying human rights abuses or racist actions by Palestinians and their supporters.
The government of Palestine has stated to an occupying invasion force that they want Israel (the state), and its human rights abuses gone from their homeland? Imagine that.
"If I just keep ignoring the actual means by which they plan to do that, they're in the moral right!"
Also, I would like a link to some of those many many times, bc I can’t find it through Google - I keep finding more articles about Israel’s human rights abuses in Palestine.
So you just made a smug retort to excuse Hamas without actually knowing what you were defending?
Also, weird how the "merciless opponent" is going out of its way to warn civilians in the areas they attack. And has for years.
While Hamas are the ones who use human shields and tell civvies to stay put, so they can use the civvies to make Israel look bad.
Seems like a good time to remind people that the phrase "from the river to the sea" - while apparently popular on this hellsite, is basically a call for the total eradication of not just the Israeli state (and by that I don't mean the government, I mean EVERYTHING) but of every Jew in that area.
SO. If I see it on your blog? Bye. I do not trust you to have anything even remotely approaching a nuanced take to this fucking tragedy.

— "𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞" (𝐛. 𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦!𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)
𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭; when your father, the head of the japanese mafia, was killed, your childhood friend swore to protect you till his death. now, you're the empress of the underground world, and he doesn't know what's harder, to keep you safe or manage to hide his feelings. what will he do when, for the first time, your life's at risk and he isn't anywhere near?
𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞; mafia!au, angst.
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬; swearing, mentions of blood, guns, murder, kidnap, yk... mafia stuff.
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭; 2.7k
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞; lemme know if u want a part two bc i felt like it was getting too long and i don't know if anyone will read it or like it 👉🏻👈🏻
"where the fuck are you?" bakugou's voice stroke over the phone, noticeably angry. he had told you several times to never go anywhere without him, which you mostly did, if it weren't for him being away a lot of times. nothing less was expected from your right hand, who handled every dirty job, and considering your line of work, it wasn't scarce. but you did had other bodyguards, just as trained as katsuki, willing to give their lifes for you, which was extremely better than having bakugou giving his life.
to his eyes, you were still the little girl from before. he saw you as a someone who needed protection. at first, you agreed. your father was murdered, someone managed to get through all his security and killed him, none of the guns he and his security team carried around could protect him, killing you would be like stealing a sweet from a baby. bakugou had always kept you safe, despite his agressive usual safe, he cared about you more than he cared for himself. so you stuck to his side, believing, hoping, he'd die for you. but that was a long time ago, now, you could defend yourself, and had raised a sense of loyalty in your people by your own. your father's empire was based in fear, yours? by admiration. you didn't see your people as working ants, but as important parts of a whole. still, anyone who was a threat to you, bakugou made sure to erase them forever.
"don't talk to me like that, i'm your boss" you could feel him losing his shit, a smile began to form in your face. even when everyone respected you, he was still the same.
"you can't boss anyone if you're fucking dead, you dumb shit" a laugh came out of your throat, he couldn't avoid smiling at the sound "wait, oh, okay, i know we're you are. stay there, i'll be in three" he hung up before you could reply.
you looked back, at one of your guards who was just putting away his phone. of course they told him. why couldn't you go get your own coffee? being in the office all day was tiring, to be five minutes outside was all you asked for. a few seconds after, they handed you your coffee, obviously, a guard had to try it first, in case that barista wanted to suddenly murder you. of course he didn't.
"who let her go outside without me knowing, huh?" a furious katsuki appeared through the door, making a scene in the place. you gave him a warning look. if there was something you hated, was that. everyone in the area knew who you were, but why make it any more obvious. those people were just living their usual lifes, and people tend to get nervous around you. "the car is waiting outside" he understood, but you knew he was going to scold you anyways.
you walked outside, smiling, and got into the car, followed by katsuki and one of his subordinates, the other one got in the front sit, next to the driver.
"save it, i'm n–"
"the fuck you are" he cut you "your safety is my responsibility, if i say you can't go out without me, then you fucking don't. specially not when there are people after your head" there was no denying he was right, but still, it upset you.
"there's always people after my head, bakugou".
two weeks ago, two men went into your office. they were in charge of some dealing territories, though small, important. most contraband had to pass those places, you controlled those police departments making everything easier to your truck drivers. they were beaten, cover in blood and barely standing.
"our men, all of them... they all..." only one of them could talk, the other being too shocked to even look at you. "kazuhito's men, it was them... they said we had to tell you, they're coming after you" you couldn't show any fear in front of your so called soldiers, and your template remained at ease. a shout was enough to get those men the help they needed, after holding their hands, you promised to go see them once they were checked by doctors. you called bakugou as soon as they left, he was the first who should know and help you decide what to do next.
the kazuhito family had always been rivals, enemies of the worst kind. everyone suspect they were behind your father's assassination, but with no proof, even you knew it would be the biggest mistake to charge against them, despite your personal desires.
"i already told the drivers they had to take rout b for a while, but we can't let them just keep what's our" you explained to katsuki once he arrived. "those drugs have to get in town by us, damnit". it was clear how frustrated you were, those assholes had mess with your and your father's hardwork.
"if we retaliate, a war will unchain. your father tried to avoid that for years"
"and see how he ended up" bakugou didn't know if it was the anger, or you talking. "we will lose everyone's respect if we don't do something, they killed dozens of our people, katsuki".
he was trying hard to stay objective in that situation, but it was near impossible. a war would put you in more danger than ever, your life was at stake, and bakugou wasn't sure if he was willing to risk it. growing up by your side, your father taking him in when his parents died, you were his only family. more than that, he loved you. the only reason he was able to do his job right, was the fear of losing you. your head was already valued in millions, how could he protect you in the middle of a conflict, that would end only with your death or the kazuhito's leader's death? your power was bigger than theirs by little, but they did something that reckless, which meant they thought they had out powered you. had they? or were they just bluffing? had they miscalculated?.
"we're taking action, wether you support me or not" you looked into each other's eyes, you knew him enough to understand his fear, just not the reason behind it. your voice softened "but i'd much rather do it with you by my side".
"you're the boss" he spoke, already regretting it "i'll schedule a meeting so the high charges let everyone else know, i'm staying at your place so we can trace a plan".
and there you were now, being reprimanded by bakugou. he was extremely tired, he decided to stay with you until things were calmer, which could be several months from then. getting up at six a.m, going to sleep past midnight, being always looking for possible threats, it had given him bags under his eyes.
"i'm sorry" you said once you were alone with him, it was only then that you could let your guard down "i'm making this harder for you".
"yeah, you are. but it's my job, after all" that came out wrong, he thought. it wasn't his job, it was his fucking life purpose. he wanted you to live a long, happy life, as hard as it seemed.
"i guess it is" deep down, his response disappointed you.
"hey, look at me" out of nowhere, his body was insanely close to yours, you felt his breath in your face as he lifted your chin with his finger "there's nothing i wouldn't do for you, got that, dumbass?"
for a brief moment, the taste of his lips was all you could think about. i bet they're soft. but as fast as it started, it was over, katsuki pulled away harshly, inventing an excuse to leave. he had flown too close to the sun, so close that it burned his skin.
a few more people went to see you that day, asking for diverse permissions, advice and stuff like that. since it had been slow, compared to other times, you decided to home early. a call to your team, and the car was already outside. bakugou left instructions for your departure, because he had things to do somewhere else, much to his displeasure. you were accompanied by your escorts to the doors of the building, that seemed like a normal office compound. there were waiting two other guards, making a total of six people protecting you. way to go, bakugou.
"how's your wife, ryota?" you asked the driver. of course, not everyone fitted in the same car, so you got into the second one, middle seat, between a built up woman and a big man. you tried to remember everyone's name, but it was difficult.
"she's good, ma'am, sends her regards" he smiled at you over the mirror.
"and the baby? he must be a month old, right?" at the memory of his child, his face lightened "you should take some days off, i bet your wife and son miss you"
"i have a duty with you, m–" a loud impact interrupted him, the front glass had exploded. the car had an abrupt movement back and forward, all you could see was blood, everywhere.
the woman next to you took her gun out, in order to protect you , you thought, completely wrong. before everyone could react to her act, she shot the guard in front of you. you looked at your side, searching for someone alive, the same bullet that had killed ryota was in the guard's at your right forehead. besides you , the only other person was that woman. if she hadn't glasses on, that stare could've seen throughout your soul. then you remembered, katsuki made you bare with a knife under your sleeve. with a weird move, you felt its sharpness against your skin, it was there, but she read you like a book. before you could even pull it out, another shot stroke followed by a intense pain in you thight. the bitch had shot you. you blamed it on the adrenaline, because nothing hurt. what happened after was a couple of blurry images in your memory.
bakugou had called you more than a hundred times, you, the drivers, the guards, everyone in his fucking team, but no one knew anything. the cameras at your house never showed you arriving, your phone's location was off. he was out of his head, if he didn't hear from you in the next five minutes, someone's going to die. he rushed into his car, following your rout at a dangerous speed.
both cars were full of bullet holes, and every guard he had hired was dead. there wasn't a place without blood. tears of pure rage came to his eyes, fuck, it was his fault. he started to look for you, but the whole world was spinning around him. where were you? where was your body? were you alive?, this couldn't be happening. he had left you unprotected, alone, and now you could be dead, because of his uselessness. his phone vibrated in his pocket.
"sir, we– we have– the kazuhito's are here" he left as fast as he came. they had touch you, they had taken you away from him, and he wasn't going to let them get away with it, even if he had to go against a whole army, whoever was behind it all was going to pay.
a man in a suit was sitting in the chair of your office, smoking a cigarette, as calm as a rock. katsuki was so close to rip his head of right there, that somebody had to hold him down. his own people updated him, saying that he had gone into the building alone, with no weapons of any kind, not even a cellphone.
"where the fuck is she?" he crashed his hand against the desk.
"ah, mr. bakugou, please take a se–"
"tell me where she is right now if you want to keep your head, fucking bastard" his hand had wondered to the tip of the gun in his belt, menacing to blow up at any second.
"you won't do that, mr., if i don't return to my people in one hour, she'll be so fucked up that not even you will recognize her" a laugh surge grom bakugou, a dark, cold laugh.
"i don't have to kill you, then" one of the man's hand rested in the desk, like asking for katsuki to rip it off his body. as you did, he also carried knifes under his shirt. in less than a second, one of them was buried into the man's hand. he screamed, both in shock and pain, giving your bodyguard a hatred look. "what do you want, shitface?"
"i-it's quite simple, actually" his face was white as paper, and even though he wanted to talk normally, his voice shivered "we want you to take over the y/l/n's business, under our command of course" he let out a sigh, trying to keep his composure and ignoring his bleeding hand "if you– if you agree, she will have to leave japan and never..."
bakugou won't agree to that. not now and not ever. to give away what you and your father built from scratch, and spent decades keeping safe, was like killing your child, and your father's memory. to send you away, alone, where he most likely won't see you again in years, was also off the table. it wasn't funny anymore. he started walking around the man's chair, picking up his sleeves. he checked the clock in the office, he had forty-five minutes with the man, meaning, forty-five minutes to make him talk. he ressourced to every fast interrogation method he knew. the people outside the door weren't surprised when they heard the man's screams, even wondering what had taken so long for the boss to start acting. katsuki was never a patient man. his senses were blocked, he couldn't hear anything but screams and begging, all his eyes could see was pain through all the man's body, his hands felt nothing but warm blood. but for the first time in a while, he wasn't enjoying it. he was doing it out of need, the need to save you. every minute that went by, was a minute were your life risked. he never felt so close to losing his sanity.
"outside the city! she's in one of our safe houses outside the city! i don't know which, please stop!" ten minutes before the timeline he finally gave up. your intelligence had all their safe houses, storages, garages, every location needed. not a second passed when one of yours men delivered a map with all the points marked. there were five in total.
"throw him outside in ten minutes" he shouted, walking to the armory "two teams, six people each, my fucking people, hear me? now, dammit! we're leaving in a minute, if i have to go by my fucking self, i'll do it"
when he was armed to the teeth, almost a dozen of people followed him outside. they were his most trusted men and women, being trained together, he knew they were as skilled as him, and they were all willing to put their life's at stake for you, their boss. in the car, bakugou barked the instructions. he had narrowed it down to two possible locations with all the information he had. if they had to kill every person in those places, then be it. he's going to get you back.

well, I was going to add to this, but all of you summed it up so perfectly! agreed with all of these excellent points. the response to kim as the anti-skyler has always been unsettling - skyler has never deserved the vitriol she receives, and they are fundamentally different women - and the further kim has slipped into gray morality, the more they've seen fit to shame her and question her, culminating in these weird takes we're seeing now calling her evil and psychopathic and blaming her for everything. kim did make the decision to turn around, but she didn't know where it would lead, and as scummy as their plan was, it still is hijinks in comparison to what we KNOW the cartel side of the story has done. jimmy and kim have faced real darkness, so of course they put blinders on and thought their scheme wasn't that harmful by comparison. it's not about excusing it or what they've done, but about seeing it in the framework of the narrative and understanding how they got here. kim has been consistently sympathetic (to me) because we see her thought processes, her calculations, her love for jimmy, her hard work and repressed anger, all colliding and boiling over. the sexist responses to this don't diminish her, they underscore her point of view. she has been clawing for respect and agency, and hubris/pride goeth before a fall. it makes her arc more potent.
another thing I will say is that in a story this complex and intricate, which has purposefully built our understanding and sympathy for jimmy and kim over the years, it's wildly reductive to me to see, "I hate them now/they're unsympathetic/they tricked us into rooting for the bad guys/I hope they suffer and die," and so on, especially for an action that, while devastating and horrific, was never something they could've anticipated. the whole point, in fact, is the connective cause and effect - one choice leading to another, hurtling to unpredictable tragedy. I can't understand how you can lose sympathy for them helpless and screaming in their living room, as if one of them asked lalo to pull the trigger? it is bizarrely and uncomfortably black and white in its moralism, and that is not the point here (and I'm sick of the idea that we, the audience, need to be scolded and punished for empathizing with complex characters - the show itself has never done that in the narrative, but this particular line of discourse seems to be rooting for it). the humanity and flaws and depth on display here - the fact that they are NOT soulless and we KNOW that - is such beautifully tragic storytelling, and I appreciate it all the more for not being judgmental and asking us to draw our own conclusions. yes, these people do awful or misguided things. from both shows. jesse still retained our sympathy because he was the heart in the midst of decay, despite the sins that weighed on him. bcs is differently structured - we know, at least in jimmy's case, the irony and tragedy of him ahead of time, but the magic of the story is it still gets us to care about him anyway. it reframes him, his journey, his core as a person. kim has been a driving force who has further enriched him, and their deep entanglement in both tender romance and a form of dangerous addiction has informed them at every turn. she's often been our surrogate - she's such an insular character, but we know her, we're in those quiet moments with her. it's like rhea saying the audience is her closest confidante. I don't want to pass judgment on her or root for her downfall, that's so dismissive to everything she embodies. this is a human story with very human qualities and failings, and we're in it with them, not to get satisfaction from some sort of hollow punishment, but to feel and appreciate our connection to them and the questions they cause us to ask, of them and in ourselves. I don't love characters because they're morally righteous, I love them because they illuminate their narratives and spark something in me that remains after the tale is told. jimmy and kim are extraordinary characters, not in spite of their faults, but because of them. and I'm so glad we got to have them on our screens.
it's just funny to me how quickly commenters will turn on beloved characters in their morally gray shows for being...morally gray? i've been through this multiple times now, yet it continually surprises me. sure, they're awful. i see it. i enjoy it. sorry they committed crimes and atrocities, but they're MY little grimy gremlins and i love them still. i'll walk into the underworld with them. rip to the judgmental but i'm different <3
