Saint was born far up north, to their mother Sliver of Straw. Sliver was a single mother, and raised Saint religiously. Their best friend, Rivulet, lived next door to them.

In their late teens, Sliver passed away suddenly, and Saint spiraled into a depression. With no other family, they moved in with Rivulet, which meant they moved with her family when Rivulet got a promising job offer down South.

Saint made the best of their situation, going to college and earning a degree in Religious Studies. They work at a private school as a Religious Studies Professor. They still live with Rivulet.

Besides Rivulet, they found companionship in Monk, another young slugcat studying Religion. They're also friends with Inv, who hardly tries to hide his crush on Saint. Saint isn't sure if they reciprocate, as they've never considered romance before, but maybe they could benefit from a positive influence outside their career. Though right now, they're content with the friends they have.

i want to know what kind of magic you and ume would have! what is happening in your magical world? do either of you have a familiar? does your familiar help with your magic or are they just your lil buddy?

also bonus question, what type of magic are you giving Kunikida???

The uno reverse always gets me

I'd probably be a really good at potions. Putting my magic into that and creating medicines and drinkable spells would be so cool! A pie that tastes like your favorite dessert every time you eat it but it's different for everyone! Hot cocoa that lets you go back to a cherished older memory for a few minutes before slowly lulling you back to the present? I want whatever magic will get me that tbh. Maybe Ume would be water magic... he'd try and dabble in other forms that would help his plants. Water's good because it can be calm and soft and rough and forceful, but in the end it's just water same as it's always been.

I think I'd have a cat no matter if it were a familiar or not. It'd probably be partial a familiar in that it's soothing presence helps my magic, but otherwise, it's a regular cat. Ume would love a little garden fairy or a bird but I think I'd have to ponder that more

Kunikida...maybe a type of magic that's more formulaic like alchemy would be his thing. Creating something from another thing but so systematically he considers it a science even though if anyone else tried doing such difficult or overly specific transmutation it wouldn't work nearly as well. That'd be fun too (reminds me a lot of FMA tho)

Because of a depressive episode I've had for the past <6 months, I didn't write my bachelor project because I simply couldn't. Every day was just me staying alive. I've barely done anything but stay alive, trying to feed myself while having no energy or desire to do so. Less than a month ago, however, my brother contacted me and helped me write my supervisor, and now I've written the contract and am working on it in the 5th block (I have my semesters divided in half called blocks). The deadline is 11th of August. And it's going really well so far. My supervisor is the sweetest person and has helped me a lot with all the bureaucracy stuff and such! Only now do I realise how bad I've been feeling for these past months, and how I don't need to feel that way. Everything will work out.

like, i think the reason the babygirlifying is so prevalent is because that’s the first immediate and opposite reaction to the ‘you cant like him’ crowd

and sure the aftg fandom these days seems to be able to handle a little more nuance. i still remember early days fandom where people who were open about saying they thought riko had depth got death threats, or were doxxed, or when the most frequent way people referred to riko was with a racialized slur…

but yeah no. can i please have some good fucking riko analysis posts in the tag for the love of god

yuno & nijirō art post update 3!! part 1 part 2

after taking a render from my perspective camera into photoshop, i used the vanishing point tool to set up some planes!

(absolute legend @wrenbii​ passed me the tip that if you put a big cube in there it is easy to get planes from!! this saved me a fair bit of guesswork)

after that i spent a lot of time lamenting that the perspective was more fucked than id realised at first, and painstakingly fixing it with the help of the vanishing planes

after that i managed to get it mostly fixed - heres a gif for comparison:

(also brightened it a bunch because wow i did not realise how dreary the colours were)

its interesting to me to see that the perspective was alright around yuno but just sorta got more & more distorted around the edges lmao. i thought i could eyeball most of it and i thought wrong!!!!

i then decided to try changing the lighting a touch to see if i could find something that works a little better, and came up with this:

i think the first lighting is a bit more even and might make for a stronger composition, but i think im gonna go for the second one because it feels more character-ful

yuno is a goblin being lit by her screens and nijirō is a cat lounging in the sunshine

next up im gonna add more clutter & refine stuff past being vague shapes!!
