what's ur favorite everlark scene
I feel like that's cliché of me but the beach scene in catching fire holds a special place in my heart because it's such a bad moment for Katniss to realize how deep her feelings about Peeta really are but there's a sense of inevitability there that does something to me. I feel like during the first games with Peeta already having some sort of crush on her and the fact he gave her the bread that makes her feel like she's in debt with him and that adds a whole other layer of complications to their relationship and Katniss is very hesitant to deal with the fact that her feelings for Peeta are bigger than the desire to keep them alive. And obviously I don't blame her, the circumstances around them are terrible and they just keep getting worse but Peeta slowly tears down that wall and it all leads to that moment where Peeta is trying to convince her she needs to stay alive, for her family, because he thinks her love for him is an act to keep them alive and he's letting her know that is okay to keep living without him, to move on and that's the moment she realizes that not only she doesn't want that, she can't do it. Katniss thinking that she will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies in that moment is what makes it clear that it's not about survival anymore, but at that moment it doesn't matter because one of them will die anyway and it's just tragic that they can't get more time but it's also beautiful that they get that moment.
Also imagining how the picnic on the rooftop before the quell went is up there in my list just because they don't get a lot of chances to just be teenagers and them getting that one day it's great.
