→ it soon turns out the one who enjoys the new-found relationship the most is actually shu. sure, he will absolutely not permit any sort of ‘lovey-dovey doodad’ in public nor in unit activities, but in private, where no one knows of their secret love, shu will worship every bit of mika, kissing him all over and being every bit as embarrassed as mika kisses back.

→ actually having shu as an awkward boyfriend reaffirms the kindness mika has always seen in him. so now when he hears anyone at all badmouths shu, mika is no longer offended, but instead depressed. it feels as if the insults are directed at him, and it hurts to the point of him possibly crying on site. for some reason, shu is now able to better handle unnecessary criticism.

→ even though shu would rather spend his off days cooped up at home sewing away, mika would drag him out, saying that he needs fresh air and some time together as boyfriends. instead of frequenting shopping malls and the like, they’ll head to quiet parks, basking in silence together on a bench. mika buys them both ice cream, and though it’s unhealthy, it’s stickily sweet - just like mika himself.
