Kiro’s R&S: Bystanders (Chapters 33-34) Translation [CN]
Tumblr media
Hi, y’all! Just a couple of quick notes before you begin reading...
This R&S translation contains spoilers from the CN server for Chapters 33-34 which have not yet been released in the ENG server. So if you don’t wish to be spoiled then please don’t look below the cut!
The next thing is that I don’t actually know any Chinese myself so this translation was done through the power of Google Translate and with a huge help from the lovely @keliosyfan . Thanks so much!!
Hope you enjoy!~
No matter how the outside world changes, his heart is as pure as always.
[Chapter 1]
That experimental kid.
This is Hephaistos’ first impression of the new Helios.
He first saw this kid, not at the headquarters, but on the TV on the side of the road.
A blonde young man, with a soft smile within his blue eyes, sang a song in English on stage. The camera turned away from the stage. Fans screamed and waved light sticks frantically, the directors and judges on the side were all intoxicated.
Passers-by, who were attracted by the youth’s singing, gathered in front of the TV, obsessively looking at the shining star on the screen.
Only Hephaistos in the crowd stood by with cold eyes. He clearly understands the hypocritical admiration in front of him and what kind of fanatic power he will eventually integrate into his plan. This is the purpose of BLACK SWAN; to promote the symbol of “Kiro” to the public.
What’s so good about this kid’s singing performance? Hephaistos huffed and left uninterestedly.
But that impression would soon be overturned.
The dark alleys are not easy to navigate after the rain. The muddy water and blood mix together to form shallow puddles. Each footstep produces a sticky sound. Hephaistos ordered his men to clean up the mess. He looked to find the silver-haired young man walking out of the shadows and greeted him, “It’s done?”
Helios took a USB flash drive from his pocket and threw it to him: “It’s all here.”
“The new Helios’ methods are much more straightforward than I thought.” Hephaistos looked at the humble gadget in his hand, “It seems that working with you in the future should be easy.”
He stretched out his hand to Helios: “It seems I have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Hephaistos, but you’d better not call me by this name. It’s too confusing, and I’m not used to it.”
Helios glanced at the dark-skinned man in front of him. The other party showed him a friendly smile, but his gaze in the nightlight looked like a falcon locked onto its prey, making his nerves instinctively go on high alert.
He nodded but didn’t hold Hephaistos’ hand back: “There’s blood on my hand. Makes it inconvenient.”
Hephaistos expressed his understanding and stepped to the side: “Are you coming back with me to headquarters now?”
“There’s something else.” Helios obviously didn’t intend to talk to him more, so he left.
Seeing Helios walking away, Hephaistos said: “I’ve heard your song.”
Helios paused and turned his head.
“Although I don’t have much appreciation for music, I still think it’s a good song.” Hephaistos lips formed a slightly playful smile. “Just thinking of someone who can write such sunny and gentle lyrics who is capable of creating such horror in a blink of an eye. I can’t help but feel goosebumps.”
Helios’ expression remained the same: “Are you done talking nonsense?”
“Is this really nonsense? I just thought I’d remind you,” Hephaistos gave a step back. “Since you have returned to the dark, don’t think of the light anymore.”
When Helios heard this statement, his gaze dropped slightly. When he raised it again, his golden pupils were sharp as blades, and they passed the corner of Hephaistos’ crooked smile. However, the murderous intent was taken back by him in an instant.
“Then, let me remind you. Before reminding me, do your own thing first.”
“Of course I will do my own thing.” Hephaistos held the USB up to him, “Don’t worry. You and I are in the same group.”
Helios didn’t respond to this “companion” who suddenly showed up. He didn’t look back at Hephaistos as he turned and left the dark alley.
“Brat.” Hephaistos clicked his tongue. He added an attribute to his previous impression of Helios in his mind.
The experimental kid that is difficult to deal with.
[Chapter 2]
Hephaistos never felt that BLACK SWAN was set in stone. Just 17 years before, there was a rift in the organization and the eventual addition of Ares and Hades was the fuse that completely detonated the rift.
Although BLACK SWAN did not appear to have any anomalies on the surface, the undercurrent surging underneath the surface had long been divided into two streams by an invisible boulder, both heading towards different goals.
When Hephaistos stood in front of the diverging boulder, he didn’t take much time to think before choosing his own direction. After all, compared with Hades’s paranoia, another “new world” was attractive to him.
Even if his companion was the experimental kid who is difficult to deal with.
Helios had settled into the organization earlier than him. As one of the main members of the plan, his influence became more and more prominent. The identity of “Kiro” was already a burden to him. Throwing it in the trash is one thing but the reality is another.
A Lincoln slowly drove out of the hall, flanked by crowds. In the crowds, everyone was blurred by the drizzling rain. Only the swinging flashlights in their hands were visible in the night.
“WE LOVE KIRO” *Made some word changes here* Hephaistos glanced out the window and said, “I didn’t understand you at your comeback concert before. Anyway, it was just a farce made by Anole to solve his problem. That’s it, there’s no need to re-enter the stage-life at all.”
Kiro’s comeback to the entertainment world is a major event. It caused a lot of waves and rippled even in BLACK SWAN. But, given that Helios himself has always been a maverick and is now the leader of the organization, everyone only dared to talk secretly. However, Hephaistos is different. He and Helios have had a cooperative relationship from the beginning. Even before the two met, Hephaistos would’ve been happy to dance on Helios’ minefield of a temper.
“Or, did you come back because you still want to enjoy being a big star? Is it fun for you to watch those young girls scream for you?”
“Shut up.” The man who was still smiling at the fans with an angelic smile was expressionless at this moment. When he heard this sentence, he did not raise his head and continued to tap the keyboard with his fingers.
“Ah, I understand.” Hephaistos suddenly thought of something and grinned. “You are all about that girl.”
Tap.
The crisp sound of the pressing of the ENTER key drowned out all the other sounds in the car cabin.
Helios looked at the calculation results displayed on the screen, his eyes dimmed: “I have my own considerations, and I don’t need others to interfere.”
“I’m not interfering. I’m just making small talk. I was bored anyway.” Hephaistos turned the steering wheel and drove steadily down the road. “Besides, I have to thank you for being “Kiro”, because otherwise, it would have been difficult for us to get an invitation for this banquet.”
Helios didn’t say anything. He quietly looked out the car window. A drizzle of rain ran across the glass, splitting his reflection in the window into countless fragments. At that moment, he no longer seemed to be a “Helios” nor a “Kiro”.
The two were silent for the rest of the way until the towering banquet building finally appeared in the night; like a dormant beast waiting for its prey to mindlessly walk into its trap. Helios just said in a low voice: “Since I’m going to act low-key this time, I can go in alone. You can station yourself outside.”
“No problem.” Hephaistos reminded Helios, “Leto’s tricks up his sleeve are almost all gone. It’s no surprise that this kind of madman will attempt anything at this banquet. Since you are going to bring QUEEN into this banquet, you must get her and bring her out.”
“Of course I will bring her out,” Helios replied, “As you said, everything we do is for the New World. In the New World Project, QUEEN is indispensable.”
Hephaistos smiled: “It is all for the New World….right?” He pressed the pedal, “The time is near. Go. Don’t let your little dance partner wait for you any longer.”
[Chapter 3]
The rain has stopped.
15 minutes have passed since Helios and QUEEN entered the lobby. However, fans and reporters crowded around and were not willing to disperse anytime soon. Hephaistos, who had not received his next command, continued to hide in the crowd and wait. From time to time, one or two conversations of passers-by floated in his ears, nothing more than that surrounding the dazzling star and his dancing partner.
“Unfortunately I couldn’t see what it looked like….”
“I seem to have taken a picture but something was blocking the view.”
“I really want to be Kiro’s dance partner too!”
Hephaistos raised the corners of his lips slightly. In the hall, everyone was so occupied with the scene in front of them, paying no mind to the trivial things in the outside world. Hephaistos didn’t know whether to think it ridiculous or sad. As he was looking around, there was a sudden scream coming from the door! *Took some liberties in translation here*
“What’s the matter?”
“What happened?!”
The reporters outside wanted to rush into the hall that was now filled with the scent of blood but were stopped by a line of uniforms that appeared out of nowhere. The perimeter of the building was quickly sealed off. A siege launched inward in an orderly fashion.
“Are the people from NW here too?” Hephaistos asked and a brief command came from his headset: “Leto has acted.”
“Can you handle it?”
“I was slightly delayed by Anole’s trick.” Helios’ sounded slightly out of breath, presumably because he was running, “He shifted into Leto’s form and garnered everyone’s attention. You don’t have to worry about the situation inside. Just wait outside.”
“No problem.” Hephaistos could faintly hear the screams from both his headset and from the inside. It was obvious that the situation inside was not as relaxed as Helios stated it to be. He stepped back slowly and informed Helios: “Right. People from the NW. Moving in soon.”
“....”
“You know?” Hephaistos was surprised for a moment but he also quickly figured it out. If Leto is gone, NW and the Task Force will naturally have to draw a clear line with the loser.
Everyone is in this melee, fighting for their own agendas. He is just a bystander in all this.
Hephaistos took advantage of the commotion and disappeared into the crowd.
Hephaistos didn’t wait long at the agreed pick-up location before he saw Helios walking over from the woods.
He is no longer the blonde he was when he was inside. His silver hair is sprinkled with star-dust like shimmer in the moonlight. It almost seems ethereal. The dried blood on his cheeks was the only indicator that he was in fact not an elven prince who came from the moon but rather a Shura* who had just returned from purgatory.
*Note about Shura from @keliosyfan*
The Shura that is mentioned is talking about the Buddhism demigod of war Asura. In Japanese, it's used to describe a person who has to fight an endless war against something in a relentless or inhumane manner. Hephaistos was making a comparison between how Helios (as blonde kiro) went into the banquet all nicely dressed and clean like an elven prince from the moon and then later came out with blood on his face (silver-haired Helios) as if he just fought some bloody battle which he probably did.
Continue
“Nailed it?”
“Leto escaped but he can’t go far.” Helios said faintly, “There is no way he can escape the dog.”
“Yeah. The rest is for the Task Force and they will have a headache. As long as our goal is achieved.”
Hephaistos asked, “Where is QUEEN?”
“Sent her back.” Helios pondered for a while and decided to share some more information.
“After her Evol was retrieved, her strength became even more powerful and there was not much time left for us.”
“I understand.” Hephaistos opened the door and motioned Helios to get in.
“Where to next?”
“Go to the temporary headquarters.”
After speaking, Helios climbed into the car. As he passed Hephaistos, Hephaistos suddenly noticed that the rain had stopped a while ago but Helios had water stains on his shoulders.
That seems to be….tears?
[Chapter 4]
The description of the bereaved dog is a bit too good. Under the first-hand news report of QUEEN and the live video uploaded by KEY, Leto’s true face was thoroughly exposed to the public’s eyes. As this is such sensational news, BLACK SWAN was naturally made aware of it.
At this time, many members of BLACK SWAN are on standby in the temporary base. Although they are scattered apart, the center of the crowd is still the young silver-haired man. It seems that wherever he is, he will be the most eye-catching light.
“I just got three pieces of news. One good, one bad, and one really bad. Which one do you want to hear first?”
“Say it if you want to, or shut up if you don’t.”
Hephaistos leaned against the wall and tsked boringly: “Then tell me the good news first. Artemis was also in the banquet hall at the time and was injured.”
Hearing that the members of the same group were injured, Helios didn’t even flinch: “Her life and death have nothing to do with us.”
“That’s true. As for the good news and the bad news, I’ll talk about them at the same time. The good news is that the Special Task Force has surrounded the orphanage. No matter how hard Leto struggles, he’s already dying. The really bad news is that even if he is dying, a dying beast may still be able to bite when crazy. He has threatened to kill all the kidnapped orphans if QUEEN won’t go to speak to him unaccompanied.” Hephaistos said this and paused deliberately.
“Don’t you worry about QUEEN?”
When he heard the word QUEEN, Helios’ icy appearance seemed to thaw slightly before it quickly froze once more. After a moment of silence, he replied briefly: “I believe in her.”
“Believe in her?” Hephaistos thoughtfully said, “Indeed, if you don’t believe in her, there will be no way to continue.”
He didn’t say anything. Now that QUEEN’s ability has been recovered, this is also an excellent opportunity to observe how much her power can grow.
Hephaistos glanced at a huge device placed behind him. Its shape stood out from the dark environment that it was in. If Hades’s “Return to Zero Plan” was his answer sheet, then this device is of their faction.
Hephaistos asked in a low voice, “When will our next step begin?”
“The next step is to be done by someone else.”
“Someone else? Is it me? I’m not good at this high-precision work.”
“Of course it’s not you.” Helios glanced at the time. “He’s almost there.”
Ten minutes later, the man Helios had in mind pushed the door open.
Hephaistos didn’t expect to see Ares, the traitor of BLACK SWAN, at the temporary base. He was astonished like everyone else for a moment. When he saw Helios’ unsurprising expression, he quickly calmed down.
Helios said that the person who will take over this next step is actually Ares? In other words, the two of them had been conspiring since a long time ago. He should’ve known sooner.
He even suspected that maybe Ares’ “rebellion” was also the plan made by these two.
Hephaistos looked at the man in black who had walked up to Helios step by step, his palms involuntarily started to sweat. He couldn’t help the way the corners of his mouth rose.
Forget it. No matter what these two have in mind, as long as the goal is achieved, he didn’t care that Ares had returned once more.
After thinking about all of this, he coughed slightly and expressed his greeting first: “Ares, welcome back.”
[Chapter 5]
Leto disappeared. Hephaistos was a little surprised when he heard the news and felt it was reasonable.
As a member of the New World Project, he firmly believes that the power of QUEEN is the key to opening everything. No one can predict how huge a door this key can open and what kind of world will be behind that door. Leto’s disappearance is nothing more than a small experiment to test the power of QUEEN. When her power really breaks through, it will be….
Hephaistos turned his gaze back to his hand holding a photo.
Originally, he did a little research out of curiosity about that girl. He didn’t expect the results of his investigation to be so interesting.
The picture shows a couple embracing each other. Except for the man’s eye-catching silver hair, the two are no different from any other couple in the streets. The girl raised her face slightly, with a bright smile, while the man’s eyes were filled with indefinable affection. It was definitely not the expression that someone monitoring QUEEN should have. It was not for show but rather pure love straight from the heart.
Even Hephaistos, an outsider, can see the attraction and bond between the two.
“So,” Hephaistos whispered, “No wonder you didn’t let me be nosy at the amusement park. No wonder you insisted on taking her in during the banquet. And no wonder you would be so confident in her.”
Hephaistos once thought that loneliness was the true face of Helios, and the sunny “Kiro” on the screen was a mask he wore. But the soft murmur of the silver-haired youth in the car on the day of the banquet, the tears on his shoulders, and the photo in his hand completely broke this perception.
It seems that his impression of Helios can be rewritten again.
Hephaistos felt that until the arrival of the New World, he could use this observation as a leisurely pastime, adding a little bit of fun to being a bystander.
Even if you are in a chess game.
Plunk.
A soft sound from the device behind him interrupted Hephaistos’ thoughts. He walked towards the device and the flickering signal jumped between his pupils. For a while, he truncated through these light spots and saw the endless world.
Hephaistos smiled to himself.
Forget it. No matter what kind of lingering past, what kind of feelings, bond or obsessions Helios and QUEEN have, they will be crushed by the New World the moment they face the end of truth and evolution.
“This is real romance.” Hephaistos sighed and lit the photo without resignation, and threw it in the trash can.

Chapter 10 – Progress
“Well?”
<Where’s your patience, boss? How could you cut straight to the point without even saying hi? And you happen to be talking to me.>
“Exactly. You’re the one person who would reply to ‘hi’ by recounting the number of times M-21 spoke for the day, the dessert presented at school lunch the other day, and the average size and volume of the crumbles the children spilled at my mansion during their snack time with my master the day before.”
<Aww, don’t be so mean, boss. You know I’m only looking out for you when I relay the updates on Seoul.>
I know. Of course I know. But no thanks. Otherwise I’ll start missing what I’ve decided not to.
Frankenstein choked his inner voice and nodded at Tao’s awkward face blinking inside the monitor.
“So, how did Rael’s meeting go yesterday? I doubt there was trouble. At least not on Rael’s side. Not with you preparing everything for him.”
<He was fantastic. As soon as he takes to Lukedonia the KSA researcher assigned for the job, we’ll get on with the ‘QuadraNet’ project.>
“QuadraNet. Huh. Though it’s a temporary name you came up with, I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever get used to it. But what do you mean, tomorrow? What’s the rush for?”
<This researcher that KSA nominated for the task is really gifted. He specified 2 days would be enough for him to get everything ready. I checked the files from the USB he provided, and I’d say 2 days are more than enough.>
“If you say so. How long would he stay at Lukedonia?”
<He’ll have to see for himself, he said.>
“It’d be best to make it done as quickly as possible. Because werewolves have already booked the same appointment. Speaking of which, how is he? What is that researcher like?”
The question was as harmless as it could be, yet Tao started shifting his gaze, away from the monitor. Frankenstein’s blue eyes steeled in reaction.
“Is there a problem?”
<No. At least, I don’t think he has a problem that can affect this project in a bad way.>
“What do you mean, you don’t think? What’s the issue?”
<Uh... Well...>
With a bashful smile, not so big, not so small, Tao unraveled what Rael told him after his trip to KSA.
*****
The day before, at KSA Headquarter
“It appears the recovery has been going on progressively. That’s good.”
“S-sorry? Oh, uh... I... Yes. Thank you.”
Sangin hurriedly produced a reply, whom Yeonsu gawked at as if holding back the urge to snap at him. Nevertheless, her eyes were basically no different from those of her husband – tap-dancing to the silent tension.
“So, uh... How long are you planning to stay in Seoul...?”
“I will be on my way as soon as your researcher is all set to leave.”
“I... I see. I cannot imagine how... Uh, I mean...! I do not mean to be nosy! I...!”
This time Yeonsu feigned nothing. She happened to be just as nervous, with the director’s office just two steps away.
“Welcome. We’ve been expecting you.”
Upon Rael’s entrance, the director rose and smiled, so stiff that it almost seemed he was doing it on purpose. He was not alone; the doctor in charge of Yeonsu and Sangin’s body modification was attendant.
“On behalf of Lukedonia, I’d like to give my deepest apology for proceeding with the project too hastily.”
“N-no, it’s nothing. Quick progress would only do us good.”
“So, is your doctor the one appointed in representation of KSA?”
“Uh... Unfortunately, no.”
The director waved his head apologetically, and the doctor stepped in.
“We’ve decided I cannot leave my lab, not even for a moment, since I’m in charge of all technological aspects of KSA. It’s not that it’s utterly impossible for me to provide any help or advice, but I don’t believe I can leave this building. I am very sorry.”
“In that case...”
“We have chosen the best of the lead researchers among us. Had he been employed before me, or had I resigned from my seat as the head of the technological department, this researcher would have been made in charge of body modification and regular checkups for these two agents. When it comes to his competence, we are more than ready to guarantee it.”
“Would you like to meet him?”
“I should.”
The doctor walked past Rael to guide him through the corridor, with Sangin and Yeonsu striding by Rael’s sides for more details.
“‘Yuhyung Jang.’ Age 28. He is currently the lead technological assistant and one of the lead researchers of KSA.”
“He used to major in Bio And Brain Engineering at KAIST, but he was considered a freak among his classmates due to his theories, brilliant if put in a good way, unrealistic if put bad. But 6 years ago, I had a chance to speak to him in private during my visit to KAIST as a guest lecturer. At once I realized I was met by a genius and offered him a position at KSA.”
“Immediately he dropped out and filed an application to KSA. And when it comes to research, he has never failed us.”
“Which is why he is the only researcher, excluding me, with a personal office and a lab.”
Rael recalled the time when he just made himself an occupant at Frankenstein’s house. First there was not much he could do, so when he had no chores at hand he used to pull out several books from Frankenstein’s library, to which he was granted access by the man’s courtesy.
Some of the books he read included an introduction to astronomy (with which he taught himself about geocentrism and heliocentrism) and a couple books on “universities.” From the latter, he learned that KAIST is always listed as one of the top prestigious institutes in Korea, which allowed him to comprehend the level of intelligence and expertise this researcher would possess.
The moment Rael inwardly sighed in reassurance, Yeonsu, Sangin, and the doctor scrunched their faces in an uneasy, unnatural way.
“Uh, there is one thing we must tell you...”
“First of all, we’re sorry.”
They were staring at Rael with eyes teeming with ruefulness and pity, which raised concern in Rael’s clueless heart.
“No matter what kind of stupidity unfolds, I’d like to ask you to please be patient and understanding.”
“This fella can be sort of... Ridiculous. And crazy.”
“But he means no foul whatsoever, so please. Be generous.”
Rael was trying his hardest not to let his disquiet-slash-panic get ahold of him, as the three humans fanned his puzzlement with eyes spawning apology.
“Here we are.”
The doctor cleared his throat before he knocked a sliding automatic door.
“Aaack!”
Rumble. Clang.
Clank. Screech.
Rael wondered for a moment if his ears were deceiving him. Normally one would not be met with such noises in a series after a knock. He realized that the three KSA personnel conveyed nothing but tranquility, with ‘here-we-go-again’ grimace.
“Coming! Coming right up!”
Thuds of footsteps escalated, only to be interrupted by an ear-splitting siren inside the room, which caused vortexes in the KSA officers’ eyes.
“What is this?! Don’t tell me...!”
“Aaaah!! I-it’s nothing! It’s nothing at all! Everything is okay!”
“Okay my ass!”
Faithful to her temper, Yeonsu nailed the door with her foot. The broad piece of metal fell flat on surface with a deafening ‘bang,’ promptly unleashing pungent smoke onto the entrance and part of the corridor.
“Ugh!”
“What is this smell...?!”
Yeonsu and Sangin darted their eyes around the room in search of the source of pitch-black cloud and charring stench relentlessly assaulting their eyes and noses. They spotted a ball of flame overgrowing in midst of a lab table at the corner, with a man pouring out all the sweat he could ever secrete, while clutching a fire extinguisher that was equal to a pesticide in terms of size.
“N-nobody panic! Please, nobody panic! I... I’ve got this perfectly under control! So... So please, remain calm and...”
Swoosh.
An abrupt current of wind blasted at the table. The air compactly brushed the fire that was by no means miniature, instantly smothering sparks and smoke that filled the chamber, and the remainder of smoke began to subside, now that its origin was gone.
“Thank you.”
Sangin and the doctor nodded their heads at Rael, who managed to douse the flame with the wind pressure from a mere act of slashing the air with his hand. Not feeling the need to reply, the Kertia took a step closer.
The first thing he could make out was a pair of rectangular glasses thicker than any other pairs he had seen. Then stood out brown curls of hair visibly in dire need for nutrients, and Rael’s gaze lastly arrived at the man’s lips arched in a sheepish, silly curve.
“Allow me to introduce our researcher – Yuhyung Jang.”
“Oh... So this must be...!”
Yeonsu nodded, and Yuhyung urgently jutted out his hands for a shake. That was when he noticed that he was still clinging onto the fire extinguisher. Out of haste he flung the object towards the bookshelf behind him, packed with utensils and books of various types and uses. He waited to witness the crimson cylinder very precariously settling on the bookshelf before re-sticking out his hand.
“Pleasure to meet you. Yuhyung Jang is my name.”
Recollecting that this is one of human etiquette in introductions and greetings, Rael held the man’s hand as gingerly as possible.
“I... I have heard so much about you. I was told you are one of the heads of clans from Lukedonia.”
“Indeed. And I will escort you safely to my homeland. I wish to leave as soon as you are ready. How long do you think it would take?”
“Uh... Uhm, two! Two days would be enough! Yes, of course! I, I only need to pack a couple more equipment, so...”
Almost making a show out of himself trying to express how honored he is, Yuhyung suddenly lunged at his desk and rummaged through his drawer. Once he excavated from his drawer a variety of stuff – such as, and not limited to, mechanical pencil, tape, a bottle of half-empty gums, and tiny rubber ball – the researcher brought back a USB for Rael.
“Could you please deliver this to the, uh... Whoever’s in charge of technologies among your team? This contains a program required to set up a connection with KSA’s network, with a couple files that I chose as reference. You’ll need this to install and launch the new communicative system.”
“Very well. I’ll make sure it reaches the right person.”
“You should start packing. Now. The director officially granted you permission for a business trip. Now all that’s left is for you to be ready.”
“Yes, sir! I’ll go ahead and do that ri...”
Yuhyung threw himself towards the bookshelf to drag out a tattered traveler’s bag. And the next moment –
CLANK!!
The man was hammered on the head with the fire extinguisher that was stationed too unstably to withstand the tremor from his action.
The two agents sighed in unity as they watched Yuhyung slumping unconscious, his eyes already rolled towards the back of his head. The doctor collected his hands as a display of embarrassment.
“We’re very sorry. Could you spare a few moments, please?”
“...It’s fine as long as he wakes up by the end of the day.”
*****
What a dumbest genius I’ve ever seen. Or should I say smartest dummy I’ve ever seen?
Frankenstein was educated enough to know that it is not courteous to dub someone dumb. Alas, his mental dictionary failed him at the moment.
“I have a feeling this trip will be a nightmare for Rael.”
<But let’s trust him, shall we? He said he can do this.>
“We should do that. There’s nothing else we can do for him on that matter, anyways. So pack him a nice lunchbox or something on his way back. The boy’s got a long voyage ahead of him.”
<Aye, aye, captain!!>
After an exchange of couple more comments, Frankenstein exited his communication chamber, only to freeze roughly at the same time.
His eyes were drawn to a bundle of grey hair, a hue now highly familiar to him, draped where it could not even reach his waist.
‘Seriously? She’s sleeping here?’
The consistent, soft ups and downs of her shoulders and rhythmic ebbs and flows of air through her respiratory system signaled that she was asleep. Frankenstein was not surprised to see her in the building, for he did notify her that there are only two places he will ever be while the sun is alive – his communication chamber or his lab.
What did catch him off guard was the fact that it presumably took only 10 minutes for her to fall in slumber, not sleep. It is possible for people deprived of rest to doze off when there is a brief opportunity, but Lunark is a werewolf. Expecting a werewolf to be exhausted is like expecting a cat to enter the tub on its own paws for its bath. Not downright impossible, but awfully rare.
‘Just what on earth is she tasked with when she’s away from this place...?’
Frankenstein stared down at Lunark, debating with himself whether he should wake her up or take her to one of the bedrooms so she could recharge herself.
He decided at least he should not leave the guest crouched at the corridor, when he cannot remember when was the last time he ever swept or mopped this place. Without further ado, Frankenstein kneeled and placed his hand on Lunark’s shoulder as lightly as possible.
There was no push or pull in his motion; it could be barely defined as a touch. However, Lunark’s head wobbled in the air like a roly-poly toy and dove straight towards Frankenstein – right onto his chest.

In a flash, the pulse from his heart thundered through his vessels, and the entire world quaked with an electrifying ‘thump.’ At least that was what he could make most out of his gut reaction.
The man was startled not by the unforeseen contact but by a phenomenon that made him question his cardiac status; he was lost at what to do. At then Lunark’s eye slid open, and light slowly dawned upon her pink pupil. Her gaze was not yet focused, enthralled by sleep, until it landed upon Frankenstein’s face.
“...Am I dreaming?” Whispered Lunark, her voice a hush no greater than flaps of butterfly’s wings.
Being a human whose abilities far surpass those of humans, Frankenstein should have captured every letter she spat out. And he would have, if only he did not happen to be writhing in a pit of confusion. The most he could manage therefore was narrowly getting himself out of his chaotic preoccupation.
Concentration kicked into Lunark’s eyes as soon as they met his cerulean eyes. Simultaneously, she apprehended the fact that she was laying her head on Frankenstein’s bosom and scrambled to her feet straight away.
The only problem was that she was not awake enough to perceive that they were so close. Close enough to smash her lips into his with little adjustment to the angle her head was taking.
WHAM.
“Ugh!!”
“Aack!!”
They avoided violently brushing their lips, to their relief, but they could not avoid ramming into each other’s forehead, thereby producing reverberation of a sound that only an Eiffel Tower would yield upon breaking one of its legs.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry!!!”
Lunark first and foremost fired an apology, even though she could not grasp the right direction and was busy trying to steady her head.
“Ugh... You okay?”
“Uh... Yeah......”
His voice told her exactly where he was standing, but Lunark could not dare lift her eyes at him.
‘What happened? Why was I squatted with him half-embracing me...?’
Lunark visited with a new piece of data, unlocked by Adne after he went through pains. When she could not pick up his trail anywhere outside the building, she figured he would be at the lab or the communication chamber.
Her plan was to wait until Frankenstein was done. Just then the fatigue from days of insomnia threatened to raze her mind, and a blink of an eye was all it took for her to black out.
The void of her memories was made null by a concoction of Frankenstein’s natural scent and aroma of wolfsbane. Hence she woke up to this disaster.
“Just how many tasks do you have at hand these days? I’ve never dreamed I’d get to see a werewolf warrior fall asleep in daytime, albeit shortly.”
Lunark could not bring herself to answer. It was true that this secret ambassador was not the only role she assumed. After all, a Union elder is listed as one of her career; it is only reasonable that she takes a major component in tracking down and eliminating what is left of the Union.
However, that is not the only reason why she fell defeated to drowsiness today. Recently she was made victim to the lack of sleep. Because of the man right in front of her.
And she could not tell him why. She could not admit that ever since she began to see him on semi-regular basis, she could not help getting conscious of his every single day, if not his every whereabout. She could not complain that her eyes just would not stop taking a snapshot of him into her brain and put it on infinite replay. She could not confess that lately he began to infiltrate her dreams, some of them definitely deserving at least a hundred slaps in the face.
“I-I’m fine. I’ve gotten busy, so I had to give up on sleeping for the past few days. And it looks like I really need some sleep.”
Ultimately she chose to keep the truth to herself, and Frankenstein’s forehead furrowed much more precipitously than she had imagined.
“You’re not getting any sleep? Why?”
“There’s a good reason.”
Lunark painstakingly ironed her face to stare at him, lest they get caught in an endless banter of questions and excuses. Thankfully for her, it worked.
“I’m not sure what’s keeping you awake, but you’d better get some sleep as soon as you return. It’s much bitchier than you’d think to stay awake for an inevitable reason.”
Frankenstein turned away as he spoke, because of which Lunark did not need to hide the flinch of her shoulders. She has never seen him handling his tongue so ferociously, unless he were in the middle of a battle or crisis. Which meant he was close to torturing himself by staying awake.
So why would you go this far?
Lunark was nearly yelling at him in her mind, but her mouth generated something very far from a reprimand.
“Here. And Dr. Adne said he’s sorry. The locks on Ignes’s data are turning more and more complicated, as if they learned they are being manipulated by someone other than their master.”
“I see he’s working very hard. I owe him so much, so I’d appreciate it if he does not let his duty harm his body.”
“I’ll make sure to tell him that. Now see you.”
“You’re leaving already?”
Lunark had already spun on her feet when he finished his sentence.
They would have had time to exchange a few more words, if not a complete conversation, if only he had left his communication chamber a little faster. In fact, Lunark was grateful that she could avoid lingering for the remainder of the day to talk to him.
“I told you I’ve gotten busy lately. Which is ongoing. And don’t give me that look. I’ll do as told as soon as I’m done with the most urgent ones.”
Lunark twisted her tone as she left, a deliberate action intended to be relieving, even jesting. Contrary to her intention, Frankenstein stood fixed to his spot even after she was gone.
‘Maybe I shouldn’t have said that. She sounded quite offended.’
Her action begot an effect not at all like what she had hoped. Which at least did not last long.
‘Who am I to care about someone else?’
Shaking his head, Frankenstein walked to his lab.
Before taking a seat at his desk, as disorganized as always, he poured out the liquid from the flask he held ready at all times. He downed the cup of wolfsbane tonic in a gulp before flipping the first page of a document, and as if on a cue technical terms and explications, so complex only the professionals in body modification would make out, commenced attacks.
Of course, it is impossible for printed letters to actually attack his eyes. Nonetheless, Frankenstein had to repeatedly blink and force his pupils back to the file.
I feel like my eyes are being less cooperative today. Am I imagining things?
His groggy head mumbled after he wasted 5 minutes while trying to dissect the first line of the next paragraph. Yet he tried again.
Again.
And again......
*****
Frankenstein blinked. He could seldom remember the last sentence he was reading. It was as if his brain cells had been buried in mist.
He attempted to stretch and straightened his back. Then he noted how he was on his feet in the middle of a dark purple space.
The dark purple that he would never fail to recognize.
Right at that moment, ice exploded through every crook and junction of his capillary vessels.
‘No, this cannot be...!’
(next chapter)
I give you my second OC - Yuhyung Jang.
He is my OC from KSA side who also happens to be a perfectly ordinary human. I tried to make this chapter comical on purpose to show what he’s like - genius but crazy XD
Also, I was super-excited to add a little Frankie-Lunark moment in this chapter lol. I know it’s not much, but they can always make a progress XD
The illustration was provided by RyO, my wonderful friend AND one of the most talented artists I know. Try visiting her DeviantArt page (the link under the image) to see what kind of wonders she has created! Thank you again to my friend RyO for the illustration!
Additionally, here is a background story on how come Rael, a native of Lukedonia, knows about Copernicus and Ptolemy and their respective astronomical theories. Frankie let Rael read in his personal library on the first few days upon his arrival to Seoul, and an intro book on astronomy happened to be one of the books he read. Hope this clarifies! Lol

What’s in my School Bag
To the anon that asked for this, here you go 💖
1. Backpack
The backpack that I use is the Heritage Herschel one. I mainly bought it because my laptop is really big and it can’t fit in normal small backpacks. This one though has proved to be so good. I’m not one to change backpacks according to season. I’ll only switch if it gets ruined and i’ve had it for over 3 years now and it works perfectly!
2. Inside the backpack
I usually go to the library after class so I pack my bag accordingly.
(a) Laptop: I use my laptop for almost everything. I don’t take notes by hand either, so this is essential.
(b) Books/Notebooks:
- School related
I’m currently taking International Relations and Trades and Finance, so I will take the books for that course with me. Mind you each of these is around 500 pages, so my bag is pretty full by this point. Also my agenda is always with me. Sometimes I’ll bring my journal (if I feel like I might write in it, or if I have an important day ahead and I know I won’t write about it when I go home).
If it’s during one of the days that I will study some elective course online, or if i’m self-studying a foreign language i’ll bring the respective notebooks and study books with me.
- Non school related
I’ll usually bring my Kindle with me (on here I’m currently reading “The Snow Child” by Ewoyn Ivey), or whatever book I am reading. Currently it’s “The Railway” by Hamid Ismailov (it’s such a good book).
(c) Pencil case: I don’t have a lot of stuff here that’s why I can get away with a smaller pencil case. Usually what I will have is a USB drive, three of these pens (these are the absolute best pens I’ve ever used - have been using this particular brand for more than 4 years now), a pencil, a sharpener, ruler, eraser, post it notes, tissues and this pen for underlining things in my agenda.
(d) Makeup case:
I’m a big advocate of you never know when the occasion arises where you need to be a little more dressed up. Always keep a make-up case with you.
In mine I have: lip balm, dark lipstick (in the colour “Pirate”), light lipstick (in the colour “Discreet”), lip gloss (in the colour “Eccentric Flower”), cushion foundation, face mist (I have super dry skin), cream blush, roll up perfume, mascara. On hot days I’ll usually bring a deodorant too (the small travel sized ones) because I sweat like a dude haha
Also, tbh I don’t wear makeup on normal school days. I’ll usually stick to mascara, the light lipstick, lip gloss and face mist.
(e) Water bottle: During summer I’ll use a 500ml one and infuse the water with herbs, yuzu (it’s so so good, btw you can find cheaper versions of this in your local asian grocery store) or a mint-lemon-cardamom blend. During winter I’ll usually get a thermos and use to keep tea or coffee warm. Especially during exam season when I only want to focus on work and not take coffee breaks! I usually keep a zip log bag full of different tea blends and the library has warm water so I’ll make tea in the library or bring coffee from home.
(f) Food: I usually pack my own lunch and this is the thermos I use. I really love it! It keeps the food warm for a long time, and it’s been really convenient for me especially when places don’t have microwaves. However, I don’t always have space to put this in my bag so I just hold it in my hand and it has a strap of its own so it’s quite convenient.
(g) Accessories:
- Wallet: i don’t actually remember the brand. It’s a super old wallet. Again I don’t really throw things away unless they get ruined or I see no purpose for them anymore.
- Sunglasses: I couldn’t find the exact style, so this is just something similar to mine.
- Headphones
This was super long, but I had a lot of fun writing it so here you go!! xx

Test - Gigabyte Brix S GB-BXi7H-5500: Review| Specs| Pros & Cons| Hashrate | Set-up
Tumblr media
Test - Gigabyte Brix S GB-BXi7H-5500: Specs | Price | CPU | Profitability| Hashrate| best Coins | Config | Advantage (Pros) and Disadvantages (Cons) and other important features that will help you make better decision. Mini-PCs are flourishing and all manufacturers offer more or less small models, Gigabyte has its Brix series (which I tested in its Pro i7 4770r version here), a range that offers several models equipped with processors ranging from the Intel Celeron 3205U to the powerful 5th Generation i7 (Broadwell) 5500U. Let's see what the Brix of today's test (which is none other than an update of the first Brix) has in the belly! Specification: Hashrate - Gigabyte Brix BXi7H-5500 Gigabyte Brix BXi7H-5500Dimensions4,68 x 10,7 x 11,4 cmProcessorIntel® Core™ i7-5500UProcessor frequenciesTurbo: 3,00 GHzNon Turbo: 2.40 GHzGraphics chipsetIntel® HD Graphics 5500Graphics chipset frequenciesMaximum: 950 MhzBase: 300 MhzMemory2 x SO-DIMM DDR3L 1.35V1333 - 1866 MHzMaximum de 16 GoNetworkGigabit LAN (Realtek RTL8111G)IEEE802.11ac, Dual Band & BT 4.0AudioRealtek ALC283Maximum resolutionsHDMI: 4096 x 2304 @ 24 HzMini Displayport: 3840 x 2160 @ 60 HzSlots d'extension1 mSATA slot1 mini-PCIe slot occupied by WiFi + BT card1 SATA slotFront connectors2 x USB 3.01 x prise jackConnection at the back1 x HDMI1 x Mini DisplayPort2 x USB 3.01 x RJ451 x DC-In1 x KensingtonStorage1 x Sata3 6GbCompatible hard drives / SSD 2.5 "(7 or 9.5mm)FoodInput: AC 100-240VOutput: DC 19V3.42ASupported operating systemsWindows 7 32/64bitWindows 8.1 64bitGuarantee2 yearsPrice550 € TTC The first thing that strikes you here is the size of the machine, a small cube of 11cm sides and 4.68cm high, we still lose almost 1.5cm in height compared to the original Brix, which was already very small. The processor is therefore a Core i7 5500U running at a maximum turbo frequency of 3GHz (2.4GHz base), contrary to what one might think and at the original Brix this i7 only has 2 physical cores with hyperthreading against 4 cores physical with hyperthreading, performance should therefore be lower but more in line with the size and use of the end. The graphics part is left to an HD 5500 chipset clocked at 950 Mhz in turbo mode and 300MHz when the processors are used at 100%, the performance should also be less good than the Iri Pro which equipped the Brix Pro that I tested previously! In terms of memory, it is possible to install SO-DIMM memory (the same as laptops) 1333, 1600 or even 1866 MHz (in OC mode) with a maximum voltage of 1.35V for a maximum of 16GB .The storage part consists of an mSata port intended to accommodate an SSD and a Sata 3 6Gb / s connector for a 2.5 ″ hard drive or SSD. Of course, the network part is very well supplied with 1 Gigabit RJ45 port and 1 811ac / Bluetooth WiFi card which should allow everyone to connect the Brix to their network. The connection is not left out either with 2 USB 3.0 ports at the front as well as a 3.5mm jack output and at the rear 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 Mini DisplayPort, 1 RJ45 port as well. than a Kensington slot is not bad for such a small device! Well that's all well and good, but what about the price? Offered at around 550 € the Gigabyte Brix GB-BXi7H-5500 is not cheap, but cheaper by around 150 € compared to the Brix pro equipped with an i7 4770R, you also need to get an mSata disc (or 2.5 ″) And memory to have a functional machine.Place the unpacking of the beast! Here is the box! It will certainly not take much space in the cabinet you can be sure, on the top there is a profile photo of the product with only the mention of the model and a small listing of the beast's strengths, a module without wire (Wifi and Bluetooth) as well as support for 2.5 ″ format discs. At the back we find various photos highlighting the connections, the internal layout as well as the third-party components necessary for the operation of the Brix (2.5 ″ hard drive or mSata Drive, SO-DIMM memory and of course an operating system) . Once the box is open (very rigid, however, the transport should not damage the precious!) There is a first compartment accommodating the tiny Brix in a foam bag. Once the first compartment has been removed we come across the second housing the driver CD, the VESA plate (for mounting behind a screen) as well as the various screws and the power supply. Here's everything that's in the Brix S box!The bundle consists of: - 1 Brix GB-BXi7H-5500 - 1 external power supply - 1 mains cable - 1 VESA plate - 1 CD de drivers The bundle is therefore rather basic with the essentials necessary for connecting and placing the Brix. The VESA plate will be particularly practical to hide the mini-PC behind a screen. Here is the beast! All dark gray shiny metallic, the little one is very sober and very compact and robustness is essential. The power button is placed on the top and will therefore be easy to access. We can see very clearly that the beast is lower than its big brother Brix Pro, which was already really very compact, as you can see here. On the front we are entitled to 2 USB 3.0 ports as well as a 3.5mm jack that makes headphone and microphone, let's not forget the little Intel Core i7 sticker that goes well. There are small ventilation grilles on both sides, they will be needed to evacuate the heat of all these little people. The rear connection is rather well provided for a device of this type with 1 HDMI port, 1 mini DisplayPort port, 1 Gigabit RJ45 port as well as 2 USB 3.0 ports. Of course ventilation grilles are present here! Below we find again a small ventilation grid as well as the various labels of use, we learn that the Brix is made to work with a 19V and 3.42A power supply or 65Watts, much less than the Brix Pro and its 135 Watts , that should be more than enough for this small configuration. Why not open the beast now! The motherboard! Everything is really miniaturized here, we see the 2 memory modules and the unused mSata port which is located just above the Wifi / Bluetooth module. The layout of the components is identical to the Brix Pro but the motherboard itself is not identical. Below we can see the cooling system, which is all in all tiny and much smaller than that of the Brix Pro, given the size of the fan we will have to expect it to run very quickly and therefore to the noise pollution that go with it, but we'll see that later Here is the location for a 2.5 ″ drive / SSD, it will be glued to the bottom wall just like on the Brix Pro. The test platform The Brix S i7 5500 will be compared to the following configuration: - Processor : Intel Core i7 4770K - CPU Fan : Noctua NH-D15 - Motherboard : Gigabyte Z87X-UD5TH - Mémoire: Kingston HyperX 4 x 2 Go 1600Mhz - Disque dur: WD Raptor 150 Go - Ventirad Graphics Card : Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 - Alimentation: be quiet! E9 580CM - Case : Corsair Carbide 300R Of course the results will necessarily be to the advantage of the test configuration, but it will be a good point of comparison! The graphics card has been removed in favor of the integrated Intel HD4600 chipset. The temperature, consumption and noise tests were carried out under OCCT in order to push the machine to its limits. Cinebench R15 With 2 physical cores and 2 virtual cores less, the Core i7 5500U is no match for the other 2 Core i7s in the comparison, and that's normal! However, let's be relativistic because 305 is very close to a desktop Core i3 Haswell. SuperPI 32M Using only one thread the frequency plays a major role here, as on Cinebench R15 the Core i7 5500U is behind with 11 minutes compared to the 8 minutes of the other Core i7s. This is easily explained by seeing that the turbo mode of the 5500U is “only” 3 GHz. Aida64 4.60 In terms of memory under Aida64, the speeds are not far from the other solutions in the comparison, which is quite normal. The result under CPU Queen is once again in line with what we saw above namely more than 50% worse, again this is quite normal. 3DMark Fire Strike & Jeux The graphic part of the i7 5500U is clearly not made for playing, or you will have to pay great attention to graphic details and not expect miracles (games like LOL, HOTS or even Diablo 3 should however be fully playable. ). We can see that the HD 5500 chipset is also behind compared to the HD 4600 of the Core i7 4770K, which is itself far from the Iris Pro 5200 of the Core i7 4770R which equips the Brix Pro. Débits Sata – CrystalDiskMark I purposely removed the Brix Pro from the comparison as there was no point of comparison, so I took a Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD (tested here) and it was tested on the Core i7 4770K and the Brix S (the Brix Pro is no longer in my possession). As we can see the Brix defends itself really very well by having read and write performance almost identical to its big desktop brother, we can say that there is really no clamping here and the SSD responds to the finger and at the eye. Network speeds The throughput was tested by transferring a 7GB iso file hosted on a machine running Debian Wheezy and all over a Gigabit network. At the network level, the Brix S has no problem keeping up with the speed with 970Mb / s in download and 960Mb / s in upload, same results as with the Brix Pro, the Intel chipset present on the Gigabyte Z87X-UD5TH is more efficient but nothing that changes from the ordinary here. The Gigabyte Brix S GB-BXi7H-5500 WiFi card has been tested in real conditions, and not glued to a high-end router specially purchased for the occasion, in fact in 99% of cases the PC is connected to the box so it will be the same for this test! The connection is made to a SFR NB6 box (optical fiber with a speed of 1Gb / 200Mb) and through a wall. By the way, we see that the Wifi chipset is really very good with 38.07 Mb / s in download and 41.81 Mb / s in upload, better than the Brix Pro but very slightly worse than the Wifi card installed on the Z98X-UD5TH motherboard . It is very likely that the possible speeds will not restrict your connection (unless you have fiber or VDSL2). Temperatures In terms of temperatures at rest, the Brix S behaves very well (for such a small PC of course) with 51 ° for the processor and the motherboard as well as 45 ° for the SSD. The SSD is a little hot but nothing that should endanger its life.In load we go up to 85 ° for the processor and the motherboard and 46 ° for the SSD, again even if this may seem high it is not so because this processor can remain at this temperature without the slightest concern for its duration of life (The Brix Pro's Core i7 rose to 97 ° to compare). Consumption So there is as much to say that Gigabyte has worked very well, at rest the complete machine consumes 8.6 Watts at the outlet, which is quite simply ridiculous and buries its big brother Brix Pro of about 10 Watts (which was already low in energy with its 18 Watts). On the other hand, the gap widens even more with a maximum of 49 Watts at the outlet for the Brix S against 89 Watts for the Brix Pro, nothing to say in terms of consumption the Brix S i7H-5500 is doing. perfectly. Noise Warning: Part to be taken with a grain of salt, unfortunately not having access to the appropriate equipment and using an android application to take the readings The measurements below are only indicative! The readings were taken 20cm from the machine. Here again the Brix S behaves very differently from its big brother the Brix Pro, indeed at rest and with its 32 dB it is almost completely silent, in any case it will clearly not be heard if there is every other sound source. Under load on the other hand and with 48 dB it is clear that we will not be able to miss the little beast which cries from the top of its more than 5000 RPM, but it remains well below the Brix Pro and its 70 dB which was almost unbearable . Here we are at the end of this test, what about the Brix S GB-BXi7H-5500?For starters Gigabyte took a Brix Pro which was already tiny and reduced its height even further, making placement very easy, behind a screen for example with its VESA mount. The build quality as well as the robustness of the whole are really excellent, no worries at this level. In terms of performance, we are below a Brix Pro with 2 fewer physical cores but the Brix S manages to do almost as well as a desktop Core i3 Haswell, so as much to say that it will be more than enough for all daily tasks. The integrated graphics chip will allow you to do whatever a user needs, and even play a few small games (LOL style for example) but clearly you should not expect miracles.Unlike the Brix Pro, the S version manages to keep temperatures correct for its size, as well as much more contained noise pollution, even if the beast will be clearly heard in load, in office use (which is the main use of this device). Brix S) it will be very discreet. Regarding the price on the other hand there is no miracle, the Core i7 5500U itself is offered at $ 393, the Brix S i5H-5500 is offered at a price between 550 and 600 €, so yes it remains expensive for the performances offered but the miniaturization of the whole has to be paid for, and as usual we have nothing for nothing! It is also necessary to take into account the fact that in addition to the Brix S itself it is necessary to add memory (between 40 and 50 € for 2 x 4 GB) and an SSD (from 60 to xxx €). If you are looking for the smallest possible office PC without losing performance compared to a classic office PC then the Brix S GB-BXi7H-5500 is undoubtedly an excellent choice, if the budget allows it Advantages - Cut - Performances - Build quality A big thank you to Wilfried from Gigabyte who allowed me to do this test. Comparing Features
Compatibility
Check these features while you choosing a label printer is its similarity and network with your working framework and delivery/shopping stage. Ensure the picked printer works with your PC and can print effectively from your foundation. Something else to look at is how the printer associates with your PC: is it Wi-Fi or Bluetooth viable or it needs wires?
Speed and Output Volume
Printing rate and output volume should be thought about as well, particularly in the event that you will utilize the printer for business purposes or high-volume dispatching. For most other use situations, however, speed isn't as essential.
The equivalent goes for output volume. Various printers are intended to deal with various kinds of responsibility. While modern evaluation models can put out up to 10,000 names each day, more modest ones can make somewhere close to 500 - 1,000 marks. Understanding your objectives and requirements, it ought to be not difficult to pick the correct model.
Label Size
Check that the printer is able to produce labels of the needed size. The majority of desktop printers can easily handle labels that are about 4 inches wide. Desktop printers are the most popular type because it is widely used by retail stores and small businesses.

Week 3 - History of Design
Over the past few days, I’ve been paying close attention to my surroundings and making design observations in the world around me.
Tumblr media
This is the laptop I’ve had for the past couple of years throughout college. I like it because it has a sleek and modern design yet it is also simple. It is pretty thin and small which makes it easy to transport and fit into my backpack. It has plenty of storage space to carry all my photos, files, and documents that I need for school and for myself in general. It has a USB-C connector on the side which is helpful because I have other electronics that use this so I can easily charge it anywhere. The keyboard lights up when I need it to, it comes in handy if I’m in a dark room or if I just want to see them better. Overall, this laptop is designed pretty efficiently for me and my needs.
Tumblr media
This is a wall of candles I saw while at the store the other day. This caught my eye because of the bright colors on the packaging and the promotion of the bright red sign. I think this is an interesting way to design a wall because the products and the marketing work together to catch people’s attention. The candles are organized in the same collection and set to a certain color palette so that they can play off each other. The sign in the middle is small yet is bright red and has the words “$10 off” in large font so that you want to read more! I was pretty intrigued by this fixture.
Tumblr media
I saw this advertisement while wandering around the mall the other day and it immediately made me hungry. This sandwich shop is clearly playing off the idea that mall-goers will eventually get hungry, as I was, and placed their most appetizing foods on a board to lure them in. They also put the new deal they are offering in big bold letters and added “New!” with the price so that customers would be more inclined to come in because they already have an idea of what they could get and how much they’d pay for it.
Tumblr media
I received this email from Lyft recently and thought it was an interesting example of a design. The offer “$5 off rides” is the biggest sized font on the page, making it clear what they’re advertising. The car on the bottom is “cute” and seems almost video game-like, implying what we already know, that this is for a ride share service. The deal also lets you know that this deal is only available for a certain time meaning you should use it now! The red font on the yellow background combined with the blue car really work together as primary colors to catch your eye and make you want to read it!
Tumblr media
This is a hand-drawn design of a paper sculpture that I made for my 3D concepts class last semester. My idea behind this was to show my drawing from different angels while also including the measurements so you could get an idea of the size and dimensions. I wanted to lay out a blueprint of the paper design before I made it so that I wouldn't be lost once I started it. This drawing really helped me know what direction to head in and made my work more efficient than it would have been without it.
Tumblr media
This is another hand-drawn sketch of an automaton (a machine or control mechanism designed to automatically follow a predetermined sequence of operations, Google) for my 3D concepts class. This project was first to be made out of cardboard and then wood. We needed to draw out our design beforehand because it would have been difficult to begin cutting and gluing the wood parts together without knowing measurements or if it would even work. I drew out what would be the top of the design, the inside, and also the framework. Once I tested it out in cardboard, I put the final wood piece together and it did end up working!
Tumblr media
This is a scan of my notes from a film class I took last semester. The purpose of these notes were for us to understand how our cameras would work. To make our film come out nice we had to understand not only the mechanics on the inside but also the outside. We were using some pretty old 16mm cameras so it was crucial that we understood how to set the film speed, aperture, and ISO. If we didn’t know how to use these functions, our film could have come out blurry, too bright/too dark, or at the wrong speed.
Tumblr media
This is a scan of my notes for a Japanese architecture and art class. We were learning about ancient art pieces in early Japan. Within these notes, I wrote down different aspects of the art such as the location it came from, the time frame, and the history behind it. I think these are all important aspects to the overall design of the art because it answers the questions who, what, when, where, and why. We can sit and judge designs all day but for me, I want to know the history and story behind why something is the way that it is.
Tumblr media
I chose this magazine cover because I think it ties into the section of our reading that discusses the portrayal of young women. Here we see some pretty stereotypical stuff young teens may be interested in; fashion, skincare, drama, and trends. This magazine was made a while ago but I think it would definitely catch the attention of a young teen today. It features a well-known actress and has eye-catching topics that intrigue the viewer to want to read more! The portrayal of American women in media has certainly changed since the late 1800s.

The last piece of a design observation I have is of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. I found this piece interesting because of its odd shape and reflective surface. An interesting fact about this building is that the glare and reflection of this building became so unbearable for nearby buildings and people driving by that they had to sand it down to make the surface less reflective. I think that this building is really cool because it’s unique and I’ve never seen anything like it. The designer of this building clearly wanted to make something that would stand out and catch people's attention, which I think it succeeds in.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G has one of the best screens you can cram in your pocket
Pictures of phone screens are boring. Here's the back of the phone. (Stan Horaczek /)
You’re easily forgiven if you don’t know how much RAM your smartphone has inside. No one will judge you if you’re not exactly sure which specific version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor lives inside your device.
In short, diving into a phone’s spec sheet means different things to various segments of the smartphone-using public. For some, it’s something to pore over and argue about on the internet. For others, it’s an irrelevant math problem that you don’t have to solve in order to fire up the TikTok app. Samsung’s Galaxy Note series devices have always put up big numbers on the spec sheet while trying to make its juiced-up hardware accessible to people who couldn’t care less how much RAM sits under the screen. It’s a fine line and the Note20 Ultra 5G walks it better than any of its predecessors so far.
Evaluating a phone like this is tricky—it’s like a supercar. Some folks want to really dig into the technical guts of the thing, twiddle with the knobs (or, settings, I guess, in the case of a phone), and appreciate the feats of engineering required to wring small performance bumps out of every component. Others, however, are primarily concerned with the flash factor. That 6.9-inch AMOLED screen is every bit as impressive as a swoopy Italian sports car, but it employs some seriously impressive tech to make it shine.
The display
Short version: The Note20 Ultra’s screen is one of the nicest—if not the nicest—smartphone screen around. At 6.9-inches, it’s massive. It feels even slightly bigger than it is because—in typical Samsung fashion—the edges of the screen slope toward the back of the device to eradicate any semblance of a bezel. I’ve personally never been a fan of the curved edges because that screen real estate isn’t usable. The screen is also extremely bright. It promises 1,500 nits of brightness, which, in human terms, makes it easily visible in bright conditions and relatively eye-scorching if you try to use the max setting while doom scrolling before bed.
The really impressive aspect of the screen, though, is its refresh rate. The Note20 Ultra has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. That means the image on screen can change up to 120 times every second. Scrolling at 120 Hz is like floating through a lake of pricy hand lotion (it’s very smooth). That kind of performance typically obliterates battery life, however, so the Note20 Ultra’s screen adapts its refresh rate depending on what you’re doing on-screen. If you’re looking at static images, it can drop all the way down to 10 Hz. Of course, it’s capable of rates between the two because not every app supports, or even needs, that kind of smoothness. When you’re playing a high-end smartphone game or just scrolling through apps, however, it will spoil you for other phones with a paltry 60 Hz spec.
As for resolution, you can pump the Note20 Ultra’s display all the way up to 1440 x 3088, but you can’t run both max refresh rate and max resolution at the same time—even if the phone has enough firepower, you would churn through your battery in just a couple of Quibis.
The cameras
The camera module sticks out from the body, but it makes good use of that extra room it takes up. (Stan Horaczek /)
There are three cameras on the back of the Note20 Ultra. The 12-megapixel wide camera is about what you’d expect from a smartphone super-wide at the moment. The 12-megapixel telephoto zoom lens, however, is more interesting. Like the zoom in the S20 Ultra, the lens sits down into the body of the phone and sees out into the world like a periscope. This gives it more room to move the elements around and enables true 5X optical zoom. Optical zoom is almost always better because it doesn’t crop into the image and magnify flaws like digital zoom will.
The maximum zoom promises 50x total zoom through a mixture of optical and digital and the result is impressive as long as you go in expecting a realistic result. The final images are clear enough to make out, but they’re not going to win you any blue ribbons at the state fair photo contest. At 20x, the results are more acceptable, and you could probably even get a usable Instagram photo out of it if you shoot in a bright setting and hold the camera really still.
The main camera has a 108-megapixel sensor, but you’ll probably never really want to use it to shoot 108-megapixel photos. Instead, it typically combines blocks of pixels together into what we’ll call “ultra pixels” in honor of the phone’s name. That results in images with more reasonable resolution, but lots of detail. Historically, Samsung has not been shy about pouring on saturation and sharpening when using the main camera. I found the Note20 Ultra follows that tradition. Most of the time, the photos are sharp and detailed with vibrant colors. The effect can come off as a bit much if you like more natural-looking images without super crispy sharpness. But, that’s mostly a taste thing.
One considerable change: it now employs a laser for focusing. The Galaxy S20 had a somewhat skittish focusing system. And with all that resolution, a super-wide aperture, and a somewhat large sensor, focusing is actually important with a camera module like this. I found the Note20 Ultra’s focusing system totally adequate in most cases, though, when you get close, it often encourages you to back up slightly and zoom in to 2x. That’s actually a handy and accurate tip for most people and I was glad to see it happen automatically.
From a video standpoint, I still found the iPhone 11 Pro Max image quality slightly better overall, but there’s not a huge difference. The Note20 Ultra lets you shoot up to 8K resolution. If you’re shooting in a situation with a lot of light, that mode can actually be useful for pulling 33-megapixel screenshots out of a video after you’ve already shot it. Shooting 8K for strictly video purposes, however, is mostly a waste. The footage takes up too much space, is hard to edit, and limits some of the shooting features you can use during a shoot.
Samsung has included some clever audio options for video shooting. You can use the built-in microphones, a USB option, or even use the Bluetooth mic in the Galaxy Buds if you want to narrate some action or do voice over. It’s the kind of thing that’s very cool if you know about it and dig into the menus, but I expect many users will never encounter and just shoot with the stock settings.
Expect a deeper dive into the Galaxy Note20 camera in the coming days.
The S Pen
Finally, we arrive at the feature that earns the Note its name. The S Pen still slides into the bottom of the device, but now it has moved to the other side. Samsung has reduced the latency involved with writing on the screen to put it on the same level as the iPad Pro. That makes writing on it feel more natural and satisfying. Even if you can’t draw and your handwriting looks like that of a small child scrambling to finish math homework on a school bus as it barrels down a bumpy road, writing with the S Pen still feels good.
The best writing experience comes in the form of the Samsung Notes app. It makes the most of the improved handwriting recognition for handy features like aligning your scrawled text into neat rows and recording audio as you write so you can hear what was happening as you made a specific note.
The S Pen is still relatively tiny and I wouldn’t want to use it as my primary method of taking notes for a long period of time. But it’s great for writing shorter notes during an interview, especially with the audio playback feature. Even with all of that going for it, it’s still not quite enough for me to shift all of my note-collecting habits over to Samsung’s software, but it was way closer than I would have guessed.
Overall experience
The Note20 Ultra is undeniably impressive. Performance feels very snappy thanks to the latest Snapdragon processor and 12 GB RAM. The high-refresh-rate screen makes things feel even faster because content shows up on the screen immediately.
As you’d expect, 5G connectivity comes baked in and it supports both common types employed by carriers here in the US. I was connected to a 5G network at my house, but certainly didn’t experience 5G speeds that would impress my pals. However, that’s likely more a symptom of the current state of 5G networks than it is anything to do with the phone itself. As the network gets better, so too will the phone.
You likely already know if you’re planning on buying this phone. If you’re upgrading from a previous version, don’t expect a revolution when it comes to experience. If you’re jumping from an older phone, the screen performance really is a big differentiator, especially if you spend a lot of time watching content or playing high-end mobile games. The base model ships with 128 GB storage, which seems a little paltry considering the price, and it’ll cost you $150 to jump up to 512 GB on top of the already pricy phone. When you add it all up, the decision comes down to what you want your phone to do. If you want ample power and tons of opportunities to tweak settings and performance, then you’ll get it. If you want the biggest, flashiest phone around that can handle whatever you throw at it for the next couple years, it can give you that too. Just make sure it’ll fit in your pockets.

Lenovo Yoga C940 15 review: The rare workhorse convertible
When Lenovo announced its new Yoga C940 at IFA this year, it was a sure winner. It takes the best of last year's Yoga C930 and combines it with the best of this year's S940 clamshell.
It keeps those features that I really loved last year, like the rotating Dolby Atmos soundbar in the hinge, and the built-in pen. And it shares the design language of the IdeaPad S940, packing the reverse notch, which doesn't really serve a purpose anymore other than to provide an easier way of lifting the lid.
This is also the first 15-inch convertible to come out of the Yoga 900 series, and it packs a punch. This machine has a 45W Intel H-series processor, along with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. Indeed, it's the rare powerful convertible, something that's also seen in the HP Spectre x360 15, and in very few other places.
It's worth noting that you can actually configure this PC with a Core i9-9880H, which is kind of wild. Even HP's Spectre x360 15 doesn't have that kind of offering, and I'm not sure there are any convertibles that do.
Design
The Lenovo Yoga C940 looks pretty much the same as the C930 did, being built out of aluminum and coming in the Iron Gray color. Of course, the 15-inch model is a bit bigger, a bit thicker, and a bit heavier. This thing weighs 4.41 pounds, and that's what you get with powerful internals like this, which also require better thermals and a bigger battery. Note that the 14-inch model is almost a pound and a half lighter, although it has a 15W quad-core processor and no discrete graphics.
The lid has a black Yoga logo stamped on the top-left, and there isn't anything else, even a Lenovo logo. Not that this matters at all, but I'd rather see at least a silver Yoga logo, something to add a bit of sexy to it. I also really like the design of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, so Lenovo can do aluminum laptops that look pretty on the outside. I just feel like the design could use a bit more spice.
On the back of the device, you'll see the rotating soundbar on the hinge. The other sides are flat with angled edges.
On the left side, there's a power port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Indeed, it does not come with a USB Type-C charger. Being that this is a powerful machine, it takes a 135W charger, and that's too much for USB Type-C. Dell does make a 130W USB Type-C charger, but it's the only one that does it. Luckily, if you buy that charger from Dell, you can use it to charge the C940.
On the other side, you'll find the power button all the way toward the back, and a single USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port. It's a bit strange that it uses the 5Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 1, as the 14-inch model has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, which gets 10Gbps. What's also strange is that Lenovo.com lists this machine as using USB 3.1 Gen 2; however, both the reviewer's guide and the marking on the port itself show it as Gen 1.
Another thing that you'll find on the right side of the PC is the pen garage. Yes, like last year's C930, this year's model has a pen that's built right into the device. There's no worrying about a magnetically attached pen falling off in your bag, or a pen loop getting in your way. It's just there when you need it, and it charges while you're not using it. Naturally, this does mean that the pen will be a bit smaller than a standard one, but you can always pick up a Wacom pen if you need to.
Display and audio
The model that Lenovo sent me includes a 15.6-inch 1080p display, although it's offered at 4K resolution. Other than the resolution, the screens are the same, both supporting Dolby Vision HDR400 at 500 nits.
Dolby Vision is one of those things that you want in a display. In fact, with any screen, HDR, color, and contrast are way more important then the resolution. Dolby Vision decodes the 12-bit PQ signal from a supported video, producing the content in the widest range of color possible, providing the most accurate colors, as long as you're playing supported content.
But while that's all more important than the resolution, I do think that you'll want the 4K model. 1080p just doesn't cut it for me on a 15.6-inch laptop. There's definitely a fair bit of pixelation when using it. Naturally, that means that you'll be sacrificing battery life.
I'm also a bit disappointed that there's no OLED option. 15.6-inch OLED panels are becoming increasingly common, and they've recently been introduced in Lenovo's entire range of 15.6-inch ThinkPads. The main reason I point this out though is because this PC is pretty much the ultimate media machine.
Aside from the Dolby Vision display, it has a Dolby Atmos soundbar. If this isn't the best audio on a laptop, it's easily close. It's a rare combination of a speaker that gets super loud, but it's also crystal clear. If you're streaming media on it, you get a great display and killer speakers, and it makes for a phenomenal experience.
As mentioned above, it follows the same design as the Yoga S940 (IdeaPad S940 in the U.S.), and it has a reverse notch above the screen. What's strange here is that it only seems to serve as a way to more easily open the lid. The Yoga S940 had that area packed with sensors and an IR camera. Those aren't included in this PC. And I don't think that the top bezel is small enough to where that reverse notch is needed to fit it.
Another thing that the C940 doesn't borrow from the S940 is the curved-edge glass. This was a really nice touch on the S940, so I was sad to see it omitted from the C940.
Keyboard and trackpad
Like many 15.6-inch laptops, the Yoga C940 includes a number pad to the right of the alphabetical keys. The keys are shallower than what you'd find on a ThinkPad. Indeed, Lenovo's consumer laptop keyboards are a more modern approach.
I really think that this is the best approach these days. The keyboard feels very comfortable to type on, and it's comfortable to type on. Lenovo is really good at making keyboards, and I've never had a truly bad experience with one as I have with pretty much every other manufacturer.
I've typed a lot of articles on this machine, and I never got tired of it. Aside from the great keyboard, the big screen makes it great for productivity. And of course, it's a convertible with pen support, so there's a wide range of use cases.
The trackpad uses Microsoft Precision drivers, so it's responsive and accurate. It's aligned to the left, rather than in the center. Again, this is common for devices like this. You'll also find a fingerprint sensor to the right of it, and that's your only method for Windows Hello biometric authentication, since there's no IR camera.
Performance and battery life
The performance on the Lenovo Yoga C940 15 is awesome, possibly the best of any consumer convertible. As I noted above, it's the only one I know of that offers a Core i9-9880H, a vPro chip with a 45W TDP, eight cores, and 16 threads.
This one includes a Core i7-9750H, also a 45W chip but with six cores and 12 threads. The H-series is what you'll find in gaming laptops and mobile workstations, so it's pretty powerful. And of course, there's the dedicated GPU, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, which is built on the Turing architecture.
You can use the Lenovo Yoga C940 15 for just about anything. You can play games on it, edit video on it, or use it for general productivity tasks. Since it's a convertible, you can use it as a tablet, and use the pen to draw, take handwritten notes, and so on. It's powerful enough to handle Adobe CC, using tablet-centric interfaces in the various apps that support it.
That power affects the battery life, of course, but the battery life on this machine was weirdly good. I got a solid six hours of general use out of it, and in some cases, I could stretch it to eight hours. Lenovo lists the 4K UHD model as getting about three quarters the battery life of this, which is still pretty good. But make no mistake, the higher resolution will affect battery life.
I did have a few strange software issues, which I assume will eventually be fixed with software updates. I was completely unable to install Nvidia GeForce driver updates. Lenovo ended up sending me a new model because I had a touchscreen issue with the first one, and I still couldn't install an Nvidia update on the new one. Windows 10 cumulative updates wouldn't install either, oddly enough.
For benchmarks, I ran PCMark 8, PCMark 10, 3DMark, and VRMark. There's only one VRMark test since it didn't hit the minimum frame rate, so there wasn't much sense in running the more advanced tests.
As I noted above, this is a powerful machine. That's why I ran 3DMark and VRMark, which I don't run on ultrabooks as they always come in at the 1% mark. It's not a VR machine though. If you're serious about gaming, you'll still want a gaming PC. If you're serious about video editing, you should look for more powerful dedicated graphics. This is better for an all-around solution.
Conclusion
The Lenovo Yoga C940 15 is sort of the ultimate PC. It's great for streaming media, with a solid display and amazing speakers. It has the power to do what you need to do, from productivity, to editing video, to gaming. And it's a convertible, meaning that you can use it in a wide range of form factors, such as as a tablet, where you can use the pen to draw, take handwritten notes, mark up photos, and more.
That's not to say that I don't have any issues with it though. Software issues were one thing, but I look at that as a temporary problem. I do find it irritating that a premium PC in 2019 could ship without an IR camera for facial recognition, and of course, I'm disappointed that there's no OLED option in a market where 15.6-inch OLED displays are becoming common and when this is already such an amazing media consumption machine. When something gets to be so good at consuming media, the lack of an OLED option becomes a blemish.
But again, this PC is amazing all-around. Just the sheer versatility of it is fantastic. It has this diversity of things that it's good at that make it a delight to use. It gets the job done, no matter what the job is.

Dell is just not joking when it describes this laptop as "Rugged".Its innards are encased inside a chunky armoured exterior - along with the outcome that, although the screen is barely 14in,the principle body measures a sizeable 354.five x 255 x fifty one.3mm.It really is major way too,at three.45kg,nevertheless it does come with a built-in manage, that makes it straightforward to carry about like a briefcase.Depending on your own outlook, the general effect is either exceptionally amazing or exceptionally dated; either way,its jet-black bulk is undoubtedly eye-catching.The Rugged Extreme's different ports adapter lenovo 80xm and connectors are well safeguarded, also. All of these sit beneath dustproof,foam-lined,spring-loaded hatches, every single of which may be sealed shut by a sliding lock mechanism. On the right-hand side, you will discover a USB three Type-A slot and - surprisingly - a DVD author, which might optionally be upgraded to the BD-RE push. This can be a rarity in present day laptops, but its inclusion will make feeling for legacy eventualities. There's also an optional sensible card reader, some thing that, once again,is never viewed inside the buyer laptop computer planet, but remains to be employed by massive firms for two-factor authentication. The SSD slot is accessed via the right edge too, earning details extraction or storage enlargement a breeze.Into the right of that you simply can set up an optional second storage bay; my product provides a dual SD and SIM slot in its place.Transfer all-around towards the rear panel and you'll find a few extra hatches, which open up to reveal two serial ports, two RJ45 Ethernet jacks, one particular full-sized HDMI two.0 connector and also a proprietary power socket.Which is a good deal of connectivity - and there is much more to the still left edge, specifically an additional two USB three Type-A sockets,a 3.5mm audio battery 404600 jack and also a lone USB three Type-C port. The front fringe of the notebook homes the Rugged Extreme's one loudspeaker - this isn't a laptop for audiophiles.Above the display, driving a sliding security shutter, there is certainly an RGB webcam.Appear intently involving the 2 port hatches within the right-hand facet and you will also find a plastic stylus, tucked away within an unobtrusive slot. This works on the two the touchscreen charger dell e6430 along with the touchpad, and it is a lot greater when compared to the normal stylus - it is concerning the dimension of a Biro, that makes it quite pleasant to write down with.Cleverly,it really is attached through a stretchy wire,to be certain it will not at any time go missing.
The Latitude 7424 takes advantage of the exact same keyboard since the Latitude 540 Rugged. As a result,it offers the exact same tranquil keys, very good reaction, and reliable backplate. The force position is in the same way delicate and may experience mushy to some.Compared for the fine-tuned ThinkPad keyboards, the Latitude 7424's arrives up shorter but ought to continue to supply a lovely knowledge to most typists. The touchpad and touchscreen go away quite a bit for being ideal. The two have weak reaction and glide, but for just a very good purpose: they use resistive sensors fairly in comparison to the normal capacitive sensors observed in many laptops. When the resistive touchpad and touchscreen deficiency the sleek glide and precise response of capacitive sensors, they are often utilised with gloves since they count on strain relatively than electrical recent.Buyers will require to use consistent strain into the touchpad and touchscreen so that you can cause the sensors, and this takes some big adjustment. In addition, it can make dragging and dropping by means of both equally inputs tough. The resistive design is probably going beneficial to the Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme's target audience but is usually irritating to utilize. The mono speaker adapter apple a1034 around the front edge of the Latitude 7424 isn't the loudest - able to filling merely a tiny room - but it surely generates shockingly crisp audio.Brandon Flowers' vocals within the Killers A Dustland Fairytale sounded obvious and refined.Nevertheless, the electric devices from the epic one were shrill at peak volumes,so you happen to be improved off listening at reduced to mid amounts.I used to be from the mood for a thing funky,so I threw on Devon Gilfillian's "Here and Now." It wasn't prolonged before I used to be tapping my foot along for the pulsing bass emanating from your Latitude's speakers.
Display
The Latitude 7424 Rugged Extraordinary is billed as a tough,outdoor-use computer system, and the monitor performs into that label properly. The screen gets exceptionally brilliant which is absolutely seen in any lights, even directly less than the sunshine.Distinction is very good regardless of the shiny back panel.Response moments are below regular for an IPS exhibit. We also detect PWM,but only at a hundred p.c brightness, and that is odd.Brightness levels of 99 p.c and reduced haven't any detectable PWM.The weakest issue from the screen will be the grainy movie brought on because of the resistive touch panel's 2nd layer.Textual content and pictures search a bit blurry in contrast to a conventional IPS display screen, and lighter backgrounds charger samsung s24d300hl bear recognizable visual sounds.Shade precision is typical from the box.DeltaE2000 scores for colors and grays sit at four.8 and 7.six,respectively.The display screen is especially weak in shades of black and grey, quite possibly due to the filmy look induced with the resistive layer. There's a silver lining to this gray cloud. With calibration, the Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme's monitor is great.DeltaE2000 scores fall to 1.fifteen and 1.4 for shades and grays, respectively.Shade variance will become incredibly tight too.Regardless of the exceptional colour accuracy,we might not advocate the laptop for out of doors photographers or videographers given that the display screen total appears to be dull.Due to its vivid backlight, the Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme can be utilized in almost any lighting problem.Even beneath direct daylight, textual content and images continue to be perfectly crystal clear. The powerful backlight isn't going to present a great deal bleed. The backlight peeks out from your upper corners, but only in small locations. This is simply not distracting in low-light environments. Viewing angles adapter hp 904144 850 are typical for an IPS screen. We do see a slight red shift in the event the show is seen off-axis horizontally. This shift is visible at brightness options of thirty % and higher and may be distracting to some.
Performance
We not too long ago observed the Main i7-8650U within the Latitude 5420 Rugged, and it done very well along with the AMD Radeon RX 540.The Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme's functionality is basically equivalent, but a number of shortcomings hinder the device when put next to its minor brother. The Intel Main i7-8650U provides a quad-core architecture battery bose soundlink mini 1 to Intel's ULV platform. The efficiency bump among Intel's 7th generation dual-core chips and its eighth generation CPUs is remarkable.Unfortunately, the Latitude 7424 Rugged Excessive is not the most effective photograph of the performance raise. The machine falls about 20 % under the average Cinebench R15 multi-core rating.Functionality is first rate, but there is definite room for improvement.Long-term CPU effectiveness is quite steady.A fast observe: we encountered hurdles jogging our Cinebench R15 loop take a look at on the beginning of the review period; the benchmark would are unsuccessful after a couple operates and crash our loop script. An update from Dell received through our overview appears to be to obtain settled these challenges. The loop adapter samsung np-r730-jb02us now runs without incident, even following multiple passes.Over-all program general performance is nice. The NVMe PCIe travel may be very fast and might cut through a workflow with no a lot difficulty. The AMD Radeon RX 540 dGPU helps with graphical loads and is particularly a pleasant boost more than the built-in Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU.The Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme bests its competitors for most of PCMark 10's productiveness tests, rendering it a formidable workhorse. The 512 GB PCIe SSD provide rapid go through speeds battery asus r704a but to some degree disappointing create speeds.Continue to,the push is a lot more than speedy enough for almost any workflow. The generate may also be changed out quickly by pulling the detachable sled over the appropriate aspect in the device. The Radeon RX 540 GPU is actually AMD's response to Nvidia's MX150,which by itself is definitely an entry-level graphics card meant to give office-grade and purchaser laptops a tad extra graphical oomph. The RX 540 edges out the MX150 in the majority of benchmarks and will be excellent ample for light-weight image and online video editing. There's a sizeable fall in graphical functionality once the Latitude 7424 is on battery energy,so customers will need to lug the power adapter together for graphical work absent in the desk. The AMD Radeon RX 540 is able to working newest online games at 1366x768,Medium/High options.Older titles is often pushed to FHD,but configurations might require to become reduced.Lighter titles like Stardew Valley and Terraria existing no challenge and run properly at most configurations. The 720p webcam previously mentioned the Latitude 7424's show captures a very good total of depth charger sony acdp-240e01 and precise hues, although the photograph I snapped beneath dim lighting appeared blotchy. In a selfie,I could make out the stubble in my lazily shaven beard, but my face was smeared like an Édouard Manet painting. On a positive note, the camera did a high-quality job capturing my fair skin tone as well as dark blue streaks in my sweater. The Latitude 7424 might be equipped with an IR camera for quick and secure login. The laptop computer also incorporates a webcam slider so you'll be able to shield yourself from prying eyes. The Latitude 7242 does an excellent job dispersing heat over its huge surface region. The bottom on the laptop computer battery asus n550jx nearest the hinge was the only location that warmed beyond our 95-degree comfort threshold, reaching 98.five degrees Fahrenheit. The touchpad, the center on the keyboard and the underside with the device remained comfortably beneath that mark. The Latitude functions two pre-installed programs that are intended especially for rugged laptops. The Rugged Control Center software pulls up a sidebar panel where it is possible to promptly access speaker volume, exhibit brightness, the on-screen keyboard as well as camera.Speaking of which, you will find there's separate Dell Camera app it is possible to use to choose photos and videos. Each and every notebook maker incorporates a program that ensures that your laptop is up to date with the newest drivers, but couple of those programs are as straightforward to use as Dell Command.Included on the Latitude 7424,Command checks for BIOS,driver and firmware updates.Other pre-installed programs courtesy of Dell involve data-protection software called Free Fall and an app for managing ability options.Windows 10 Pro is definitely the default OS on the Latitude, nevertheless the laptop is inexplicably loaded with programs for children, like Candy Crush Saga and Minecraft.Other programs a business user almost certainly will not likely need to have incorporate Netflix,Fitbit Coach and an Xbox app.The Latitude 7424 will come that has a three-year warranty.See how Dell executed in our annual Tech Support Showdown and Most effective and Worst Brands rankings.
Energy Management
The Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme suits its major objective - being a durable machine which can be employed in excessive outdoor conditions - very effectively. The laptop's heavily guarded chassis can withstand a laundry list of toughness exams, and its incredibly bright,14-inch display is effortlessly noticeable over the sunniest days.Best of all, when equipped with a secondary battery, the Latitude 7424 does not need to have to get plugged in until deep into a next day of use.My main complaints in regards to the Latitude 7424 are its sky-high price tag and unresponsive touchpad. If you don't definitely want a rugged laptop, you might be much better off spending much less on a premium machine, similar to a Dell XPS 15 or MacBook Pro.Nevertheless,if you happen to be a police officer, construction worker, soldier or someone else who functions inside a field where your notebook might be exposed to harsh environments, then the Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme is undoubtedly an fantastic choice.Opportunities to charge your devices are handful of and far amongst when you happen to be while in the field, which can be why it's so vital for field workers to obtain a notebook that lasts a whole day on a charge.Fortunately, the Latitude 7424 endured for an outstanding 13 hours and 12 minutes on the Laptop computer Mag battery take a look at.It can be vital to take note that our unit was equipped having a secondary three-cell,51-Whr battery. You should expect shorter battery life adapter samsung 770z7e without the need of the optional battery.
Verdict
What with marketplace leader Panasonic trying out new 2-in-1 form factors and Getac nonetheless in a smaller sized, reduce resolution display with its B300,it is not completely apparent where traditional absolutely rugged laptops are headed. The charge difference involving a full-out rugged device and a regular laptop,or even a semi-rugged,is substantial.Dell's semi-rugged 5424,the totally rugged 7424 starts in a full two grand extra, and those are two machines utilizing fundamentally the exact very same tech. That stated, there are nevertheless lots of applications where nothing however the extremely toughest will do,areas where the added hardware cost pales in contrast to your potential benefit of obtaining gear that definitely will not break or leak. And which is what the Dell 7424 Rugged Intense is for.Dell,of course, can also be a world-leading provider of commercial PCs,which gives them an edge in large scale production working experience as well as with enterprises that like to one-stop shop.In addition, you will find Dell's Global Command Center that stays on top of nicely in excess of one hundred million supported systems,17 million annual dispatches and 500+ similar day parts centers in over 160 countries, providing 24/7 support in 50+ languages.Between that,Dell's stable commitment charger dell e7470 to the rugged space,as well as machine's impressive structure,up-to-date technology and specs, this completely modern day, thoroughly rugged notebook might be tough to beat.

[MF] Unopia
I've been writing this story for a little bit and it's nowhere near done, but I got impatient and decided to post what I've written so far. Enjoy! Alternatively, don't enjoy!
It was a Utopia. A true, bona fide Utopia, where everything was perfect because no one had an issue with anything and everything was perfect and you always put the usb drive in the port the right way the first time. Yeah, it was that good. There was sadness, of course, suppression of that would probably involve some dystopian measure, and everyone knew that and everyone accepted that and so there was sadness because everyone knew that it was only human and you didn’t really need constant happiness to have a utopia, anyway. Bad words still existed, but no one was offended by them anymore. Besides, people had almost completely switched to Brandnewspeak, anyway. Brandnewspeak was a brand new language which had been invented just a year ago. It had become the most widely spoken language in the Utopia in under 4 months and its official language a month after that, success which many attributed to its clean, smooth sounding words. Indeed, it was agreed that Brandnewspeak was wholly superior to English. In the center of the Utopia was the flag, depicting a circle of people linking arms with each other around a smaller version of the same image. The Utopia’s motto, “everyone and everyone else” was painted in the Utopia’s official font, Times Brandnew Roman, just above the door to the main hall. Opinions were respected, facts were verified. Everyone had plenty of food, water, shelter, medicine, and the like. This is where our story begins. Sam was a simple lad who led a simple life (a simple, perfect life, mind you. The word “perfect” had been forgotten many years before the introduction of Brandnewspeak. Because everything in the Utopia was perfect, the distinction had no longer been necessary to make, resulting in the word collectively fading from the people’s vocabulary). He enjoyed music, pubs, and long walks on the beach. His job as a plumber didn’t pay much, but it paid enough. In fact, it paid the perfect amount to cover his life style. Yes, Sam led a virtuous life in the Utopia, a satisfying, stimulating, exemplary life. But everything was about to change. But not today. Today was a pretty regular Wednesday. Sam had woken up, eaten breakfast, gotten out of bed, and prepared for the hours of calming problem-finding and problem-fixing that were to come. He departed from his house in his 0-CO2 emittance shoes. He was walking down the sidewalk, as one does, when he came across something awfully peculiar. He picked the thing up and, since he couldn’t discern any possible use for it, put it in his pocket to dispose of at the nearest recycling duct. The recycling ducts were a massive and elaborate structure beneath the Utopia which lead down to the recycling center (itself a massive and elaborate structure beneath the Utopia which was capable of recycling any synthetic material at all). The ducts were truly a work of genius and had been designed by Will Einstein, the greatest plumber to ever live. Ooh that’ll have big ramifications on the story, won’t it? Yeah, probably. I figured I’d give you a freebie since most of the foreshadowing has probably gone over your head up till now, unless of course you’ve had it explained to you by some obsessive, cranky english teacher who reads way too far into things. You know, the kind that could read the first two sentences of our story here and come up with some reason as to why it’s actually a dystopia. Oh, and they’d probably fit Shakespeare’s “To be or not to be” soliloquy in there somewhere, too. But I digress. As Sam continued along the sidewalk, he pulled out his map to make sure he was going the right way. He was. Putting his map away, he saw that he was getting close to the recycling duct. He felt in his pocket for the object and examined it more thoroughly. After all, he may have just missed its purpose, and he’d hate to have something useful recycled. Looking at it now, he noticed nothing new. It was still a hard, smooth, hexagonal prism, with a hole in it. He was now standing in front of the recycling duct. He was about to toss the hexagonal prism away when he noticed a key lying on the ground directly in front of the duct. With a lapse in the logic of probability, he tried to put the key into the keyhole. It didn’t fit. “Ah, well. Down you go, then.” he said to himself, and tossed both the prism and the key into the chute. Sam made his way to the first home he was to work at that morning. It was a small, familiar, quaint house, not unlike his own. Fairly unremarkable, but remarkable enough. It’s not like all the houses were exactly the same because of some dystopian, oppressive government that prevents its citizens from realizing that it has taken away their individuality and slowly makes every aspect of their lives as mundane as possible. He rang the doorbell and, after the perfect amount of time, someone opened the door. “Hello, Ms. Jones,” Sam said. “How are you this morning?.” “Quite alright, Sam, and how are you?” she responded. “I’m just fine, thanks,” Sam said. “Good, good. Then please, come in,” Ms. Jones said, leading Sam to the kitchen. “You see, Sam, the faucet has stopped working,” she said, as she turned the handle and watched the pitiful dripping with a frown. “Now don’t you worry, Ms. Jones. I’ll have your faucet up and running in a jiffy!” He said, and got straight to work. I won’t bore you with the details, because who cares about fixing some clogged pipes? No one. That’s why you call a plumber to do it for you. What I will say is that it involved a wrench, a lump of muck, and some pipes. Yep, a perfectly normal plumbing job.

Dell XPS 17 (L701X) Review
The Dell XPS seventeen (1710X) is often a desktop alternative notebook that is primed to be used to be a gaming laptop computer,a media centre or maybe a cell workstation! It's a adaptable Dell notebook using a 17.3in touchscreen plus a high-end configuration that features a quad-core Intel Main i7 CPU,two hard drives and a strong NVIDIA graphics processor.Dell has carried out away with lots of more mature connectivity alternatives, such as VGA,but involved mod drawbacks like DisplayPort, rather.
Design and Features
The Dell XPS 17 (1710X) is usually a major notebook: its foundation is 415mm extensive and 285mm deep, and it weighs just about 4kg.It is not a unit you might desire to use on your lap,and also you will not likely need to transportation to and from your place of work far too generally. It feels effectively built, and has a considerable multitouch touchpad along with a really sturdy, backlit keyboard.Alongside the perimeters in the notebook caricabatterie dell inspiron fifteen 7577 are two USB two.0 ports,a few audio ports,an SD card slot and also a Blu-ray drive.A lot more connections are located alongside the rear with the notebook: you obtain two USB 3.0 ports,a Gigabit Ethernet port,HDMI and DisplayPort, and an antenna port for your inside electronic Tv set tuner. It lacks FireWire and VGA,and what's more, it doesn't have an ExpressCard enlargement slot.We are in no way unfortunate about these omissions, while it could be nice to obtain an ExpressCard slot in the event you need to make use of FireWire or an growth dock within the potential. The XPS 17 also has Bluetooth,802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi,in addition to a 0.9-megapixel,Skype-certified webcam. The choice of features the XPS seventeen boasts is extremely extraordinary.A pair of focused JBL speakers sit imbedded during the laptop's chassis and supply many of the most effective audio we've ever listened to from a laptop computer.Should you use your equipment for tunes playback, this can certainly be a significant reward for yourself. The notebook also comes bundled with Nvidia's 3DTV Enjoy technological know-how.Because of this, whilst the laptop's panel isn't 3D prepared, you could stream 3D information to the suitable Tv set or watch caricabatterie dell precision 15 throughout the notebook. This will make it a great option for the people wanting to stream 3D games and movies to share on the significant monitor. There is also 2-megapixel webcam integrated. The XPS 17 is surely an extraordinary multimedia equipment that doesn't value the earth.Excellent effectiveness and usefulness are joined by a highly extraordinary characteristics list for making this a competitive offer.Like Apple with its Macbook variety,Dell consistently refreshes its Inspiron and XPS desktops and laptops. We very last seemed on the mid-range Inspiron 17R and ended up really amazed while using the stylish refresh. Now it's the perfect time to test out Dell's new high-end XPS seventeen.Sitting just one step down below the company's final Studio XPS line, the 'vanilla' XPS is nonetheless a pretty potent beast. You could get up to Intel Main i7 quad main processors; focused,optimus-enabled graphics with as many as 1.5GB of movie memory and the skill to output to your 3D exhibit; a whopping 16GB of procedure memory; as much as one.5TB of really hard push space and JBL 2.one audio. They're also the world's 1st Skype-certified laptops with High definition webcams,so those addicted to 720p video chat really should come to feel correct at your house.USB three.0 and DisplayPort may also be on board, making for a powerful line-up.Not surprisingly, our evaluation sample (L701X) is specified somewhat more modestly.Processing obligations are dealt with by a dual main Core i5 460M running at 2.53GHz,backed up by 4GB of DDR3 RAM.It is also a good deal powerful around the graphics front, supplementing Intel's integrated graphics with the Nvidia GeForce 435M with 1GB of RAM for graphics acceleration caricabatterie lenovo adlx90nlt3a and light-weight gaming when plugged in.Dell materials fast 7,200rpm tough drives across its XPS seventeen array, and using this type of product you can get a generous 500GB capability. This all guarantees the amazingly thoroughly clean put in of Windows 7 Residence Premium 64-bit operates fantastically.Nonetheless, what immediately catches the attention in regards to the seventeen.3in XPS is its unapologetic bulk. With a commencing weight of in excess of 3.4kg and dimensions of 415 x 287.3 x 32.8-38.5mm,this laptop computer will take its position being a desktop substitute very seriously.Despite this,it is really however a beautiful equipment.Nearly all its lid is made up of a one sheet of anodized aluminium, which appears and feels good, and would not clearly show up fingerprints or grease marks like the glossy finishes uncovered about the lids of most laptops.Such as the Asus G73Jh,the reduce 50 % protrudes a little bit with the back again, demonstrating off a white-backlit XPS emblem.Opening the XPS seventeen up reveals a matt black screen bezel, which should make really some individuals delighted.Though the keyboard encompass and palm-rest area are constructed from a further single sheet of aluminium, this time it really is in the brushed black complete matching the rest of the interior.Though fingerprints batteria hp cm03xl will probably be seen listed here,it is really nowhere in the vicinity of as undesirable as a little something like Toshiba's Satellite L650,and is a small price tag to pay to the good quality experience and solidity when resting your arms on it.The laptop's base is plastic, coloured silver to match the lid.The ability button, position indicators and touch-sensitive controls - all uncovered inside of a piano-black strip above the keyboard - are properly backlit in white.General,Dell has done a fantastic job with this particular very simple nevertheless visually partaking search.
Build high quality is more of a blended bag,for though it's mostly wonderful, there are actually a few spots along the bottom the place there is extra 'give' than we prefer to see,and 1 spot from the palm-rest the place urgent down results in an audible click.Even now, these are insignificant troubles in precisely what is,all round,a really well-built equipment. In utilize the XPS seventeen usually stays whisper-quiet,even though beneath load its fans do usually rev up and it results in being very audible. We also uncovered the remaining palm-rest receives incredibly heat to your touch just after the laptop continues to be managing at full load for some time.If you prefer to work with the XPS 17 (1710X) out on your balcony or in your yard, you will get irritated through the hugely reflective monitor.Even putting it in close proximity to a window batteria hp probook 450 g3 on a cloudy day will induce a great deal of reflections to appear around the display screen. In essence,it truly is not a notebook which you could comfortably use outside or in bright places. The multitouch touchscreen includes a resolution of 1600x900.The big screen is useful when you need to line up home windows side by aspect, even so the touchscreen is one thing that's more of the novelty for impressing your buddies rather than anything that can make you a lot more productive. In expressing that,it can be fun to work with your fingers to modify Internet browser tabs,to zoom and rotate photographs, also to choose music and movie documents.Using the touchscreen in this particular way for your extended length of time may be tiring, nevertheless.Dell ships the XPS 17 by using a touch interface termed Dell Contact Zone, which requires up almost a third of the place over the Desktop when it is open, and it can be used to start picture, tunes, online video and Internet programs. With the leading from the display screen caricabatterie toshiba pa3917u you can find the Dell Dock, which lets you perform several identical tasks - it can be more aggravating than practical. All up,the touchscreen has constrained usefulness and the way handy it truly is will depend over the purposes you employ.
Display
Connectivity on Dell's XPS 17 L701X is really class-leading,instead of simply because it involves USB 3.0.The one thing that is missing can be an ExpressCard slot, and we honestly are not able to visualize several reasons you'd probably will need one particular here.Together the left there's a memory card reader caricabatterie apple m9689b a which not just takes the usual complement of SD/HC,MS Pro/Duo and MMC,and also the new SDXC regular. On the appropriate you will find a tray-loading DVD-rewriter,twin headphone jacks,a microphone jack, along with a combined USB 2.0/eSATA port. The vast majority of connections reside together the back, which isn't necessarily one of the most practical location. In this article you'll find two USB 3.0 ports in their signature blue livery,Gigabit Ethernet, and a complete electronic movie output collection of HDMI one.4 and mini-DisplayPort.Either one particular will let you hook up high-resolution displays such as the NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi,anything that lots of older laptops don't support. We've similarly minor criticism concerning this laptop's usability. All the keyboard's keys are full-size,and also a range pad is involved together with the usual shortcuts.Amid these is actually a devoted button for deactivating the touchpad, nevertheless you shouldn't need this as we located the pad nearly in no way interfered with typing.Format is great, even though it does not match the clever shortcut placement and 2nd functionality vital located around the likes of Samsung's R780.The one disappointment for electrical power buyers is always that the F-series keys are relegated to secondary features by default, but this will be altered within the BIOS.The keys also present a great amount of vacation, and though the motion with a number of feels a tad inexpensive, typing remains to be an exceptionally nice knowledge in general. So far then,we are incredibly impressed with Dell's new variety.Sadly, the L701X's seventeen.3in monitor is exactly where we stumble upon our first actual disappointment.Dell nevertheless really should differentiate its highest-end XPS Studio line, and 1 on the strategies it's accomplished this is certainly by restricting the 'vanilla' XPS 17 to some highest display screen resolution of one,600 x 900.While this will likely be a lot for the vast majority of customers,it could possibly be described as a significant caveat caricabatterie sony vgp ac19v43 for the people hungry for more desktop genuine estate.Simply because of this, sharpness isn't really quite pretty much as good as on Total High definition screens possibly, even though it can be undoubtedly ample for some and also the decreased resolution does make viewing smaller icons and text easier. The screen's glossy coating could be a problem with vivid ambient lights existing, even though in the darkened environment it does enrich perceived distinction and offers colors that more tiny bit of 'pop'.Even so,the TN panel wants all of the aid it could possibly get,as contrast is sort of inadequate.Blacks appear just a little gray, the darkest greyshades are indistinguishable from each individual other and delicate colour gradations within the lighter stop mix into reliable blocks. The speakers create a room-filling volume devoid of distortion,a loaded and specific soundstage, and dialogue arrives across with abnormal difference.Even though undeniably impressive, clarity and bass aren't automatically the best of any notebook "on the planet" as Dell claims, nevertheless the range of transportable devices caricabatterie sony acdp 240e01 that will match it could likely be counted about the fingers of 1 hand.Among these is Toshiba's Satellite P500,which utilizes Harman/kardon speakers.Interestingly,Harman/kardon and JBL equally tumble under a similar mother or father firm,so it's not shocking that they match up very well.
Performance
General effectiveness with the XPS seventeen is superb,as expected thinking about its specs. The dual core Main i5 460M is much more than impressive adequate for that average person, and when you do want a lot more cores,as at any time Dell's equipment are very customisable plus a Core i7 is just a click on absent. Dell's most up-to-date is likewise astonishingly proficient at gaming many thanks to its Nvidia GeForce 435M,while certainly it will not hold a candle to laptops with 'true' gaming playing cards, like the Mobility Radeon 5870 discovered inside the MSI GX740. Overview
The Linedock ultimately aims to replace three things. A USB-C dongle, a power bank, and an external SSD. These are probably the first few items you purchase to kit out any laptop you may own, especially the MacBook.
The device is absolutely gorgeous. It’s designed and manufactured from aluminum and looks like a MacBook that’s had its screen removed. Its dimensions make it no larger than the MacBook as well so that when stacked it doesn’t look out of place. Stacking also means it will take up less real estate on your desk compared to a tangled mess of dongles.
Line also sell a purpose-built U-shaped USB-C connector, which further adds to the minimalism. It’s worth noting that you should plug in the U module on the left side of your MacBook to avoid blocking the headphone jack, however, it works on either side.
The box includes the Linedock, reading material, and a cheeky graveyard to store your old dongles. The optional magnetic and U modules arrive in little tins and are almost certain to put a smile on your face. Line has put a lot of effort into the packaging, and it shows. Good start!
Connectivity
The Linedock is garnished with a delicious selection of ports. There are three USB-C, three USB-A ports, and an SD slot. There’s also HDMI and Mini DisplayPort if you’d like to connect to an external display. You could also take advantage of a USB-C display if you so desire.
You can only use a single display at a time, and it’s limited to 4K at 60Hz. This is something to consider if you require dual display or any resolution above that. So unless your monitor has VGA or DVI, the Linedock has you covered.
The only port that the Linedock doesn’t have is Ethernet. This may not be a big issue for everyone, but it was for me. All of my video editing is done on my server, and Wi-Fi speeds can’t cope with the bandwidth required. If your workload is heavily reliant on wired ethernet, you might need an ethernet adapter, but that’s counter-intuitive.
Other than that, the Linedock meets any use case. All ports are easily accessible regardless if you’re in stacked or unstacked mode. The best part is that your external SSD isn’t taking up one of your precious ports because it’s built right into the Linedock.
Storage
When purchasing a Linedock, you can choose between no storage, 256 GB, and 1 TB versions. The built-in storage comes from a SanDisk M.2 SSD which is connected via SATA III. Write speeds topped out around 225 MB per second with read speeds reaching around 250 MB per second.
The SSD is automatically detected when connecting the Linedock and can also be used as a boot drive. This means you could dual boot your Mac with Windows or even another instance of macOS. The Linedock also makes a great place to store your TimeMachine backups.
Another anti-Apple pattern is making the Linedock easy to open up if you’d like to change the SSD. If you do open up your Linedock, it will greet you with a brilliant little light show. Line has gone through the trouble of painting a world map on the internals and paid homage to the people who created it by the clever use of colored LEDs.
The SD Card slot speeds were a little disappointing. Read and write speeds topped out around 20 MB per second. This is far slower than a typical USB SD Card reader. While the Linedock may be compatible with the fastest SD cards, it certainly doesn’t have the speed to match. There’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to the storage speeds, but it may not be a deal breaker for you if you seldom use SD cards.
Power
Capacity and Output
The Linedock sports a 20,000 mAh battery which should be enough to support a small colony on Mars. Even after fully charging a 13″ MacBook Pro there will still be around 6000 mAh left to charge other devices.
Power output for a single port tops out at 60W meaning it can supply enough power to charge your MacBook quickly. The Linedock also supports pass-through charging through the rear port for up to 100W. You can charge up to six devices simultaneously, and power is distributed quite cleverly.
Think of the total power available, either 60W or 100W, as a budget so to speak. So if you had the following devices plugged in:
Linedock Internal Battery (60W)
iPad (12W)
iPhone (18W)
Nintendo Switch (18W)
13″ MacBook Pro (60W)
The total watts required to charge all devices to 100% will be 168W. If you connect a 60W charger to the Linedock, it will charge all of the above by sharing the power and if necessary will wait until one or two devices are fully charged to charge the remaining ones. If there is any power left, it will be used to charge the internal battery of the Linedock. This makes the Linedock an intelligent power distribution system as well!
Saiyan Mode
If you’re familiar with the Dragonball series you should know what Saiyan is. Charging power output is doubled. Saiyan mode works by double-clicking the battery indicator button which will turn the LEDs yellow. The rationale behind this is that your MacBook needs only 30W of power to sustain its battery life. But you may want to actually fast charge it which is what Saiyan mode is for.
This does mean the Linedock and your MacBook will get run a little hotter than usual, so you will need to use it in unstacked mode. One thing to note about unstacked mode is that you will require a decent USB-C Cable in order to use both power and data transfer from the Linedock. The standard cable that Apple sells just isn’t good enough, unfortunately. On the bright side, the one that Line sell is perfect!
Compatibility
The Linedock is marketed for the 2017 or 2018 13″ MacBook Pro specifically. This is because of its size and aesthetic. That being said there are cases which people have used Windows laptops from Lenovo and Huawei and have had no issues at all. Everything from power to the ports works exactly as intended.
The best thing about the compatibility is that the Linedock supports both EMUI and DEX. So if you had a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or a Huawei Mate 20, you could connect it to the Linedock and use your phone with an external display, mouse, and keyboard. Everything from the internal storage and SD card slot become accessible via your phone as well!
If you own a 15″ MacBook pro and feeling a little left out, worry not. Linedock plans to release a 15″ version which will beef up the power specs and cooling required for the more powerful 15″ MacBook Pro.
The Verdict
If you had to tally up the price for everything the LineDock replaces such as a power bank, external SSD, dongles, and power distributor you’d end up paying roughly $260, which is around $150 less than the cost of a LineDock.
However, this isn’t really a fair comparison as none of those devices are going to provide you with the one cable experience or space saving that the Linedock has. You’re paying a premium for a premium device that looks and feels the part. The devices falls a little short in SD card slot speeds and could maybe do with a wired ethernet port.
There are undoubtedly purpose-made devices that outperform the Linedock, but there are none that boast the unbridled versatility or aesthetic. It really is the Swiss Army knife of MacBook accessories. If you’ve just purchased or are thinking about buying a new MacBook Pro, the Linedock should definitely be on your radar.
Most of all the company behind the Linedock make an effort where it counts. Little things like messages on the battery, the overall presentation, naming conventions, and appreciation for their team go a long way in making you feel special. They aim to be exceptional and have indeed come up with an exceptional product.

The Best Bug Out Bag List (2018) – What You Need and Why You Need It!
It seems like putting together the best bug out bag list is one of those things that every preparedness website has to do. The thing that other sites often ignore is the fact that everyone has different needs and lives in different environments. This article will help you design the best bug out bag for you and your family!
This article is going to cover everything that we at Ready Lifestyle believe should be on every bug out bag list. Then we’re going to give you a range of options to fill those needs. By examining each section, you’ll be able to tailor a kit to meet your needs, no matter what they are, so you have the best list for you and your family.
Backpack
When choosing a backpack there are several things to take into consideration. If you live in an urban environment, choosing a backpack that does not appear tactical can be an advantage. For those of you that live in a rural environment, a tactical backpack may serve you better.
Regardless of the style of pack you choose, a subdued color is probably the way to go.
Osprey makes great packs in all colors, shapes, and sizes. This Aether AG 60 is designed for a week on the trail and comes with a removable top lid that can be used as a daypack.
Kelty is another well-known manufacturer of backpacks. The Kelty Redwing 44 is a little on the small side, but it would certainly work. It’s size also makes it less conspicuous compared to other hiking packs that are much larger.
This Teton pack is 55 liters and is the most affordable pack we’re looking at in this article at right around $60. The Teton Scout 3400 represents a sweet spot for cost, durability, and size. It’s fully adjustable and pretty close in size to the Osprey.
About the same size as the Kelty, the 5.11 Tactical RUSH72 has a ton of MOLLE webbing on the outside which allows for expansion if you really need it. Being on the tactical side of backpacks, it’s made of stronger, heavier material than the other packs and comes in several different subdued colors and camo patterns.
Shelter
Shelter can come in many forms. A lightweight backpacking tent may be the best option for some, for others, a tarp makes more sense as it can be a shelter and has other uses. It doesn’t matter what you choose, as long as you have a shelter in your bug out bag that makes sense for you.
A purpose made tarp, like this Chill Gorilla 10′ Rain Fly, makes a great shelter. You can also use it to waterproof your pack, collect rainwater, etc. They’re extremely versatile on top of being light and not taking up much space.
Water
Having a steady supply of water will be one of the things that you battle with first. The problem with water is that it’s heavy and takes up a lot of room.
With that in mind, we always recommend having some form of portable water filtration system in your bug out bag as well as several collapsible water containers with you.
The Katadyn Hiker Microfilter is one of the best handheld water filters available. It’s a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. Something along these lines is important for any survival situation.
Collapsible canteens are nice because you can roll them up when they’re empty to save space in your bug out bag. I like these Nalgene canteens because you can stand them up when they have water in them. Not all of the collapsible canteens I’ve used will do that.
You can also add water purification tablets, or chemical disinfection kits since they take up very little room.
Aquamira makes several types of water purification chemicals. These water purification tablets would be a good addition to any go bag as a backup to other water collection tools.
This Aquamira Water Treatment kit in a bugout bag can treat up to 60 gallons of water. That’s far more water than you could ever carry!
Food
Freeze dried food weighs very little but takes a lot of water to rehydrate and cook.
The Mountain House Pro Pak is designed with backpackers in mind. Each pack is one meal and comes vacuum packed to be as light and compact as possible. They come in a wide variety of flavors, so anyone should be able to find something they would enjoy.
If you choose to carry canned food (which I don’t recommend) make sure you have a lightweight can opener like a P-51 or a multi-tool.
MREs are a great choice for an all in one meal that can be prepared with no outside equipment. If you decide to go with MREs you can strip them down and take out anything that you will not need. Take the food out of the boxes, remove the heaters (you could reuse them as a makeshift warmer if you live in a cold environment), get rid of the extra spoons, etc.
Putting Datrex Emergency Food Bars in your bug out bag is another option. They aren’t great, but they’re calories, take up very little space in a bag, last for a long time and don’t need to be prepared.
Clothing
The amount of clothing that you need to put on your list is minimal. When you’re determining what to pack, try to keep it light and non-bulky. In the end, you just need something to protect you from the environment that you’re likely to encounter.
You should have several changes of socks and underwear. This will let you change out the articles of clothing that come in direct contact with your body preventing chafing and blistering which can lead to discomfort and eventual infection when walking long distances. Keeping your feet dry on a long trek is one of the things that you should prioritize if you have to bug out.
The original Merrell Moab Mids are still among my favorite hiking boot.
Making sure your footwear is broken in is key. In a bug out scenario, blisters will slow you down considerably and possibly even leave you unable to walk. This will be even more apparent when you have the weight of your pack on your shoulders.
Gear Aid Tenacious Tape would be a great addition to any bug out bag. It’s an interesting product that could come in handy in a pinch. It’s specifically designed to seal leaks, rips, and tears in rubber, nylon, canvas and synthetic materials.
Light
A flashlight or headlamp is a necessity. A headlamp allows you to use your light source with both hands-free.
The Petzl Tactikka Headlamp has white light, strobe, and red light options. Be sure to read our review of what we believe is the best headlamp for the price.
You also may want to consider something like a small LED Lantern or glow sticks to act as an area light at night. There are also several small lanterns that Goal Zero makes which are great for lighting small areas at night.
I’m a big Goal Zero fan. The Torch 250 is a great area light that has a solar charger on one side and lantern on the other side. It also has a USB port that you can use to charge electronics and it can be charged from a USB port or a hand crank on the side.
Hygiene
Make sure you don’t overlook personal hygiene items. You need to be able to keep yourself clean especially if you end up living out of your bag for more than a couple days.
Normally a toothbrush, toothpaste, baby wipes, and a bar of soap will be enough to keep you clean.
A roll of toilet paper doesn’t weigh much, but it can take up a lot of space. If you run into this situation you can remove a portion of the toilet paper from the roll and put it in a Ziplock bag to save space.
Defense
Being able to defend yourself is extremely important in a bug out situation. What you decide to bring with you to defend yourself is going to depend upon where you live.
If you live in a rural environment then some form of light semi-automatic rifle is going to suit you best.
In my mind, a rifle should be the first weapon you reach for in any bug out situation. Even if you’re in the city, a short barreled AR-15 pistol is a much better choice for your bug out bag than a pistol in all ways other than concealability.
A pistol can be your best bet if you’re bugging out from a city or suburban environment. This allows you to conceal your firearm, drawing less attention to yourself. If you’re not concerned with drawing attention to yourself then a rifle on your bug out bag list is a better all-around choice.
Fire Making
One of the best fire making devices available to anyone is a simple Bic disposable lighter. They’re inexpensive, light and readily available almost everywhere.
Other than several disposable lighters you should consider packing a windproof lighter, ferrocerium rod, or waterproof matches in your bug out bag.
First Aid Kit
A good first aid kit is an absolute necessity. Make sure you don’t skimp in this area.
The list below is what I consider a minimum for a bugout bag first aid kit:
For normal cuts and scrapes, the Adventure Medical .7 First Aid Kit is great for this purpose because of its small size and the quality of the materials they pack in it.
The Adventure Medical Trauma Pak comes packed in a single compact bag and covers most of what you need to stop a heavily bleeding wound.
Adding an Ever Ready Battle Dressing (AKA Israeli Bandage) to your Adventure Medical Kit fills in some of the weaknesses of that kit.
The Combat Application Tourniquet is a standard when it comes to tourniquets. Tourniquets are a bad word in a lot of communities. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO USE ONE!
Cordage
Some form of cordage should be included in your go bag. Normally the go-to item for this is paracord. It’s light, doesn’t take up a lot of room and the inner threads can be removed from the outer sheath making, even more, cordage if needed.
Survival Knife / Axe
A quality fixed blade survival knife should also be part of your kit. Fixed blade knives are normally stronger and have better handles than folding knives. They tend to be better suited all around for survival situations.
If you’re going to put a folding blade on your list then make sure it has a solid lock up when it’s opened.
The Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife is a normal Mora knife with a ferrocerium rod in the handle. This is my go-to when I’m putting together any survival kit.
A lot of people think the idea of a survival axe is crazy, or inefficient. This is the Gransfor Bruk Wildlife Hatchet. It’s just over a foot long at 13″ and has a 1 lb. 3″ blade. The entire hatchet is under 1.5 lbs!
Navigation
Laminated maps of your local area, as well as a compass and a GPS, will allow you to find your way. Make sure you practice with the compass and understand how to use it! When you’re trying to navigate during a bug out situation it’s not the time that you should be first pulling out your compass.
The Garmin eTrex 10 is pretty bare bones when it comes to a modern GPS, but it has all the features you would need in a bug out situation.
Regardless of the GPS you select, you should definitely have one on your list.
Gloves
I always bring a pair of Mechanix Mpact Gloves. They’re light enough to give you a lot of dexterity and sturdy enough to stand up to pretty rigorous activity. The rubber coating on the knuckles and fingers really does help. I highly recommend them.
Money
In a bug out situation, it’s a good bet that society probably has not completely collapsed. This means that your money will still have value and you can potentially use it to buy items that you need along the way.
Identification
Having identification along with you will most likely make any encounters with the police or government go more smoothly. It’s lightweight so don’t forget to include it on your list.
Some form of identification could also be required if you decided to utilize emergency resources provided by a government agency like FEMA.
Electronics
We have quite a few things that need batteries and so far we don’t really have anything to recharge them with. That’s about to change.
The Goal Zero Venture 30 Solar Recharging Kit with Nomad 7 Solar Panel is a solar panel and battery pack. The battery pack gives you the ability to store the power that you gather during the day in order to charge electronics at night.
To charge AA and AAA batteries the Goal Zero Guide 10 is great. Just make sure that you have non-lithium rechargeable batteries.
A cell phone goes without saying. As long as the grid is up, your cell phone will continue to be an incredible asset to have. Make sure you have one in your bug out bag.
Wrapping Up Your List
Ultimately it’s up to each of us to come up with what the best tools are for us and our families. By reading through this article, and tailoring your list to your needs, you’ll be ready if you ever need to bug out.
Just like any other type of prepping, it’s important to not spend money that you may not have to put a bug out bag together.

PS4 Slim SSD Upgrade – Things You Must Know
Solid state drives (SSD) have become very popular in the last few years for the high speed they offer that can become up to 8x faster than a regular hard disk drive (HDD) and the consistent reliability the high-end SSDs boast of to the extent that they are now shipped with a 10-year limited warranty, which is too much in the electronic space.

Now with PS4 Slim allowing the internal hard drive swap, an SSD replacement might be a good option for some users who want the maximum possible speed out of their PS4 Slim gaming console.
It’s worth to state that there have been many arguments on whether it’s worth to equip PS4 Slim with an SSD or not, bearing in mind the relatively unreasonable price for a device that’s used merely for storage purposes compared to its sibling—the hard disk drive (HDD).
We don’t deny that SSDs will improve the overall performance of your PS4 Slim console, but according to our personal evaluation, we don’t recommend them for PS4 Slim, mainly because of their high price—it’s the big issue.
But if you still want to feel a bit superior to your pals, and money is your last concern, then an SSD cannot be a wrong choice.
Below we list the best suggested 1TB and 2TB SSD for PS4 Slim from which you can select what you feel is right for your needs.
What SSD Do We Recommend for PS4 Slim?
//<![CDATA[ aax_getad_mpb({ "slot_uuid":"888f224e-9e7f-4f05-81f5-ae3121a24b1c" }); //]]>
I am making this section because there are still some people want an SSD for their PS4 Slim despite everything else said, and for this class of users this section is made where we recommend SSDs that we consider to be the best fit for PS4 Slim.
Note that because SSDs are expensive and a drive less than 1TB is too small for PS4 Slim, only 1TB/2TB SSDs are listed below.
Our criteria for choosing these drives are:
We make sure the drive is not less than 1TB of storage capacity
It should have a user-rating not less than 4.5
It’s designed by a prominent SSD manufacturer that has a high reputation in the market
It comes with an adequate price that’s not considered too expensive. This impels us to picking drives from mainstream space, and we strongly dissuade from going with a premium SSD for your PS4 Slim.

Summary in Points—Is SSD Worth it for PS4 Slim?
Let’s boil down the entire research in a few points listed below. Just remember that if you need more details on a specific point you’ll find them within this research in the corresponding section.
An SSD will only increase the speed of PS4 Slim by a rate between 30% to 40% as has been already reported. It’s just NOT the same case with computer systems that will feel huge difference (up to 5x faster in the overall performance) once an SSD is added to them.
SSDs are way more expensive than HDDs (more than 5x the price of a regular HDD) and PS4 Slim will not gain much from an SSD due to its limitations. So do you think this small increase in speed is worth it for that unreasonable price?
An SSD in PS4 Slim will shine mostly in online gaming space on condition that your peers also use an SSD, or if you often install/uninstall many games within the week, or you like to launch multiple games at the same time and switch between them, or you often transfer huge files from/to your PS4 Slim. That’s because SSDs are very strong in handling multitasking operations and have much higher writing speed than hard drives. So if you’re one of these guys, then go with an SSD if you can afford the price.
We believe that a good 2TB internal hard drive for PS4 Slim for the overwhelming majority of PS4 Slim users is what they must look for at this stage because the speed of mechanical hard drives within the PS4 Slim console is adequate and not too bad, and the big issue with them is the small capacity. So consider here improving the capacity instead of speed. Or you can keep your current stock drive and go with a USB 3.0 external hard drive for your PS4 Slim if you are concerned about the capacity.
SSD as a Potential PS4 Slim Storage Upgrade

Buying a hard drive for PS4 Slim is very simple, especially where there’re no many options available because the 2.5-inch hard drive industry is almost suspended from development after the advent of solid state drives (SSD) that have proven greater efficiency and reliability in mobile devices. You can read more on that in our PS4 Slim Internal Hard Drive Guide.
But does that mean it’s worth to swap the PS4 Slim stock hard drive for an SSD? Will that have the same effects/benefits as it is with computer systems? These questions require deep contemplation before making any decision in this regard, and we’ll try, at our best, to answer these questions sufficiently.
Into the World of Solid State Drives
Before we delve into discussing whether an SSD is good for PS4 Slim or not, and what SSDs we recommend, we would rather take you through a quick primer on the world of SSDs in order to enlighten you more on this matter so as to become clearly aware of what suits your needs best. That’s because a wide variety of PS4 Slim users don’t know about SSDs anything but that they are magnitudes faster than traditional hard drives (HDD), and they suppose consequently that PS4 Slim would run so much faster with an SSD than its current speed, but that’s more an illusion than a fact, and that’s for several reasons that will be addressed later in this article.
Let’s start first by knowing what an SSD is, and how it works and differs from the traditional hard drive like that found inside the PS4 Slim box.
What’s an SSD and How Does It Work
A solid-state drive (aka SSD) is a storage device that’s meant to handle the same functionality of hard disk drives (HDD), but in a much higher speed with decreased power consumption and lower failure rate. It’s main goal is to become a permanent data storage much the same job functionally (e.g., saving your data while the system is off, booting your system, etc.) as an HDD.
Unlike mechanical hard drives, SSDs don’t employ any moving/mechanical part in their architecture, rather they combine NAND flash memory blocks together and the data transmission occurs among them electronically via microscopic transistors, and instead of a magnetic coating on top of platters, the data is stored on interconnected flash memory chips that retain the data even when there’s no power present, and this is the major secret behind their strength that makes them much faster, more reliable and consume less electrical energy. You’re probably familiar with USB memory sticks – SSD can be thought of as an oversized and more sophisticated version of the humble USB memory stick. Like a memory stick, there are no moving parts to an SSD. Rather, information is stored in microchips.
How can this then give SSDs all their traits of which they boast? Well, as an analogy, what’s quicker and requires less energy? Having to walk across the room to retrieve a book to get information or simply magically having that book open in front of you when you need it? That’s how an HDD compares to an SSD; it simply requires more physical labor (mechanical movement) to get information.
The Strong Sides of SSDs
When manifesting the advantages of SSD, we need to put it in comparison with another type of storage device that’s made to carry out the same purpose, and that’s the mechanical hard disk drive (HDD).
Probably you’ve already realized the major advantages of solid-state drives while reading through the lines, but let’s put things down right in a table:
Stands for Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Solid State Drive (SSD) Speed HDD has higher latency, longer read/write times, and supports fewer IOPs (input output operations per second) compared to SSD. SSD has lower latency, faster read/writes, and supports more IOPs (input output operations per second) compared to HDD. Heat, Electricity, Noise Hard disk drives use more electricity to rotate the platters, generating heat and noise. Since no such rotation is needed in solid state drives, they use less power and do not generate heat or noise. Reliability and Failure Rate When comparing modern consumer SSDs with enterprise hard drives, the SSD wins the match in terms of reliability for having way less failure rate than HDDs. The ratio is something around 7:1 in favor of SSD. Due to the much low failure rate, modern SSDs are shipped with at least 5-year limited warranty for mainstream-grade devices, and 10 years for enthusiast-grade. This indicates how reliable SSDs have become. Defragmentation The performance of HDD drives worsens due to fragmentation; therefore, they need to be periodically defragmented. SSD drive performance is not impacted by fragmentation. So defragmentation is not necessary. Components HDD contains moving parts – a motor-driven spindle that holds one or more flat circular disks (called platters) coated with a thin layer of magnetic material. Read-and-write heads are positioned on top of the disks; all this is encased in a metal cas SSD has no moving parts; it is essentially a memory chip. It is interconnected, integrated circuits (ICs) with an interface connector. There are three basic components – controller, cache and capacitor. Warranty The longest warranty term given to a mechanical hard drive is 5 years for the enterprise space. Modern mainstream SSDs are now shipped with a 5 year warranty and a 10-year for enthusiasts. Weight HDDs are heavier than SSD drives. SSD drives are lighter than HDD drives because they do not have the rotating disks, spindle and motor. Dealing with vibration The moving parts of HDDs make them susceptible to crashes and damage due to vibration. SSD drives can withstand vibration up to 2000Hz, which is much more than HDD.
The Drawbacks of SSDs
Until recently, as Samsung released its 16TB enterprise SSD and 4TB consumer SSD, solid state drives used to be criticized for their limited capacity that didn’t cross the 1TB limit for almost 2 years, unlike mechanical hard drives that, at that time, were available in up to 8TB of storage capacity.
But in the middle of 2015 Samsung broke this barrier by releasing the first 2TB consumer SSD in the 2.5-inch form factor, then in the beginning of this year (2016) released a 4TB SSD of the same consumer-grade model line/series.
So if we consider the limited capacity issue resolved, the issue of high price is still existing. In order to imagine how expensive SSDs are, the price of a 1TB SSD costs currently, as of the time of writing, more than $350 on online retail store, whereas the same capacity of 2.5-inch hard drive costs barely $80 or even less. That’s quite a vast difference.
Now think deeply about it. Is it worth to spend as much as the price of PS4 Slim console itself just for a storage upgrade that won’t provide more than 40% improvement of speed? The entire decision is yours eventually.
PS4 Slim Speed Limitations
PS4 Slim system is designed to correspond with the standards specified by Sony for that particular generation of gaming consoles. These standards pose a limitation that a user cannot break/cross in normal situations (Check the PS4 Slim Specs Page). Some aspects of this limitation are:
You cannot upgrade your PS4 Slim hard drive to more than 2TB without a hassle. Yes, there are already some users who published their experience on upgrading the internal hard drive of PS4 Slim to a 5TB or even 6TB, but they faced major problems and errors with PS4 Slim operating system. Plus, the largest 2.5-inch hard drive that fits into PS4 Slim box comes into 2TB only. [Check our article: 4TB Internal Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Upgrade for PS4 Slim for more elaboration.]
Although PS4 Slim development team declines to give a clear answer on whether PS4 Slim incorporates SATA-II or SATA-III interface, many users reported, according to their personal testing and experimenting, that PS4 Slim bus speed is way slower than that offered by SATA-III interface, even after employing an SSD interfaced with SATA-III in their experiments. This leads us to deduce that PS4 Slim incorporates SATA II which consequently will immensely restrict the potential of any fast storage device designed for SATA-III.
PS4 Slim system will not allow any upgrade other than the hard drive. That means you cannot replace the processor or increase the RAM size or even change the operating system. This gives personal computers more credits over PS4 Slim in this matter.
Conclusion
Solid-state drives (SSD) are great, and they offer legendary performance boost to computer systems equipped with these flash-based monsters. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that SSDs will also function on the same level of performance/speed when incorporated into PS4 Slim.
What you need to know is that upgrading PS4 Slim console beyond its standards is more a dream than a reality, because even if the hardware specifications permit it, the PS4 Slim operating system has yet to handle the new hardware configuration according to its rules, and this is where the core problem is.
