YES OF COURSE ABSOLUTELY LET ME RAMBLE ABOUT THE SHIT WE CAM E UP WITH

so the au is roughly following the plot of the og games (going w the order they came out. were choosing to ignore how complicated the timeline got, and we’re atm excluding game 4 +onwards)

(if you know how the games go, the story will get dark. things will be tagged, but the main story will also get put under the cut for extra coverage)

so story goes, gman runs fazbears (we havent changed the name yet) but hes ambitious and wants to try to make a new sort of animatronic. luring one of the kids (who happens to be joshua unfortunately) into the backroom, he kills them, taking their soul as a part of an experiment. he is unsatisfied with the result, having placed the soul into a hand puppet bear. he wants more. so he uses the promise of joshua to lure in gordon next, who he then kills as his next victim. in a sort of cruel joke he essentially attaches them to each other, so they wont be seperated again (dw joshua can detach himself from gordons hand at any time, he just needs to go back as his battery doesn’t last as long as the others when off of the hand dock.) 

the next two victims come by chance, although gman wont let the opportunity slip up. coomer comes hearing of two missing people he knew, gordon and joshua, and decides to investigate on his own.  this ends up being a mistake however, as gman overpowers him and knocks him out. hes the next to go. the last one to die by gman’s hand is bubby, who comes looking for coomer. so all these deaths essentially occured as a chain reaction from one another.

(this is where tommy comes in but also where he doesnt exist for a good while) so tommy walks in on gman stuffing bubby into one of the suits, and hes horrified. his dad is doing shit like this? thats fucked up. however, gman sticks by his ‘no witnesses’ rule and kills tommy, not even bothering to stuff him into a suit. he just tosses him out back into the garbage bin (tommy goes on to become the puppet. how? we duno yet so this is all weve got for now)

months go by and the cases for the missing people go cold. there are no leads, no witnesses, and the security footage doesnt show much (courtesy of gman). animatronics are built “in memory of” the people that were killed, but really its just an excuse gman has to point suspicion away from him.

now, darnold currently works the dayshift/acts as phone guy. HOWEVER. he did work night shift before! he asked if forzen (another employee at the time) could cover one of his shifts near the end of the week, but unfortunately for forzen the animatronics were AGGRESIVE. they stuffed him into one of the spare suits in the back (made by gman before the murders) and bam forzen’s tethered to Oxer the ox! darnold felt bad so he hangs out with forzen in the back closet during his day shift and keeps other maintenance workers away, as to avoid them finding forzens um...entrails, instead of wires.

benrey is the new hire for the nightguard position, doing it for the extra money. his first night goes well enough, following instructions from darnold over the phone. the animatronics moving about is unnerving, but not enough to deter him from the job quite yet. second night, animatronics get a bit more aggresive. his strategy, instead of just closing the doors, involves annoyng the animatronics enough to where they’ll get bored and leave him alone for a bit. saves him quite a bit of power! nights proceed like this for a while, animatronics getting more and more aggresive. until the final night, where an unlucky cut in power towards the end of his shift causes an accident. forzen, just wanting the night to end, decides to end things then and there. he takes out a chunk of benrey’s head, resulting in a trip to the ER and the shutting down of the original location.

if asked, i may go into game 2!! theres not too much lore there yet, but i could at least explain why benreys back and how the toy animatronics would work in this context!! this post is already long enough gdhjfkd
