A quick pic for the OCtober prompt day 2: oldest oc
This ol' guy's name is Rusty. I know I've had older ocs, but he's the oldest I can remember - 16 years!
I don't remember a whole lot about him, except he was "half wolf" (but was def just a gshep with yellow eyes lol) and kind of a cool older mentor type. Don't quite remember how he lost his leg either.
Went ahead and aged him some more to reflect how long he's been around :]

The funniest kind of critical role "critique" is always going to be the 'they present themselves as if they aren’t rich/a company no I will not give any examples' crowd. Like what does this even mean. They start literally every single episode with informing you they are professional voice actors. They have clearly advertised sponsors. They have an entire line of merch and an animated show. The production value of the set is bonkers. They run a charity foundation. Do you want them to start every episode with a blaring siren and a warning saying 'beware! company run content! we make money!!' Are you just angry that they are friends having fun as they make a living. Do you have any understanding of how money works.

new rgg fans will never know what they missed back in ye olden days of the fandom (like, 2019), doubly so now that scott strichart's deleted his twitter and jon riesenbach's privated. twitter was so fucking fun and then whatever-the-hell at sega of america happened and caused a fucking snowball effect and now we have shitass localization and resulting discourse that makes every release nigh unbearable, misinformation, confusion, people complaining about "bad writing/mischaracterization" not realizing it's because of the shitass english loc, i'm sitting here like jesus christ these loc bitches massacred saejima's character voice, people will never see him as he was intended, as original yakuza 5 localization Correctly painted him, and now they're coming for kiryu. god help us. we used to be a proper fandom. before everyone was subjected to the remastered localizations and shaky eng characterization. no one had even played yakuza 3-5, people still called morning glory "sunshine" orphanage, kiryu was our only protagonist and people still called him "boring", it was beautiful...
anyway gaiden uses affective instead of effective because the current localization team is full of careless dumbasses who don't give a fuck about ensuring they're using correct english grammar and this is not an isolated incident

(re: strip club) it gets localized to be him liking 'aggressive' dancers.#in 3 remastered he says he likes AGGRESSIVE DOMINEERING WOMEN and that gets his Gears Turning#or. in 5 shinada says that uno is 'a little sad up top' re: his hair. and 5 remastered he says 'kinda mopey'#because they misunderstood the original english loc and so. completely fucked up the line to mean something else entirely#its like broken telephone#the same is SOMEHOW also happening in 8... i dont know HOW but somehow it fucking is#meanwhile im revisiting zero and going OH YEAH GOOD CHOICE. THAT MAKES SENSE. GREAT WRITING. My trust in social media/art sites has been dwindling for a while now
Witnessing dA steal a whole site's worth of art to train it's image generator, informing everyone in post- Knowing that twitter and instagram are likewise training their own generators- and now seeing tumblr implement an opt-out for training data
It's very disheartening to watch the internet communities I've found home bend and twist under the force of scraping for "AI" training
There is just so much bad, but making and sharing art is still one of my favorite things to do. I will still be drawing my freaks, but I'll need time to think about what to do with my personal work...
This blog will change to be fanart only & I'll put more time into finding a comfortable workflow for glaze/nightshade
#dezchatters#it takes my computer over an hour to glaze a tiny 500x600px image so i stopped out of concern over the long term effects on my cpu/gpu#having them run at full blast for over an hour on a regular basis cant be good#especially when its like 8yrs old now#hoping webglaze works out so i can spare my toaster#and do my civic duty to online art posting#as for personal work im mostly sharing on a friend to friend basis these days#my art make speed is slow as always but if you want a trickle of tive doodles n oc art in ur inbox I'm open to try connecting on discord#lastly- stay strong friends#the world may be cold and harsh but hope is a skill we train#there will be better times#we do what we can when we can

Man I wonder where the leader of the fear realm could've gone, it's alMOST LIKE NEVIN HAS AN
#had to re-edit the image real quick because the original edit was from a post I made about Drew years ago#and while the Drew thing is becoming less and less likely. Okay, so 'X actually lives' AUs are not my thing (I'd rather see equal consequences to counterbalance the 'happy ending'), and this is especially true for Molly because Kingsley and Cad are both great, BUT-
During my M9 rewatch, when Fjord, Jester and Yasha are taken, Lorenzo is pleased that they hauled, and I quote, 'Two divine bloods and one half-beast'. Fjord is clearly the half-beast, and Yasha's obviously an aasimar, but that Jester is lumped with her as a divine blood caught my interest.
So tieflings are valuable, then.
I know literally the next line states that their cages are at capacity, but... Lorenzo could have hauled Molly's unconscious body into a cage if 'divine bloods' are that good a find. If a teenage aasimar could fetch 10k gold apiece in the Fire Plane (C1e75), I do wonder if it'd be more worth his while to haul away this prize. (Ofc aasimar prices could be inflated in that marketplace! But even 2k would be nothing to sniff at!)
As much as it pains my lil heart, because she IS my favorite... Beau is right there. A dirt-common human, and probably just as good an example to make Keg get the message.
Has anyone done this? It feels like such an easy shift for canon divergence that then opens up a huge door full of possibilities.
(Just consider the domino effect this would have. M9's disposition towards people/problems likely remain prickly, reduce the likelihood of them teaming up/trusting a lot of people down the linr. Maybe the extra bodies means someone is offloaded and sold earlier, not to be found in the Iron Shepherds' dungeons. What impact would Cad not being there to heal/rez at key moments have? How would Fjord's arc be deviated without his guidance? And Beau's, if she lives, without the impact Molly's death had on her? Aeor and Lucien would, of course, be completely different! Just! Think about it!)
