#its kinda melodramatic but i mean....... if any situation calls for that i guess this is one huh

timkon for “Please don’t do this.”?? :))))
It's a scene from Tim's worst nightmares, come to life.
The Time Trapper. Superboy-Prime. Back in their dimension, hell-bent on exacting his revenge on everyone who "scorned him" for being misunderstood. The havoc and destruction he wreaks everywhere he goes are bad enough, but they're not the thing striking true terror, frigid and fierce, into Tim's bones.
"How much time do we have?" Kon asks, watching the red smear in the clouds grow larger. His arms are folded across his chest; his jacket shimmers with starlight, his eyes aglow against the inky black of the night sky.
Dread roots Tim to the spot.
"About three minutes," Cyborg reports, his voice taut even over comms. "We need at least ten."
Kon nods, more to himself than anything. Tim can see the determination in the set of his jaw, knows exactly what he's going to say before he can even open his mouth.
He knows innocent lives are at stake, so very many. He knows it's bigger than just the two of them. He knows, and yet—
His hand moves on its own, grabs a desperate fistful of Kon's jacket. "Please don't do this," he begs, and hates himself for it, because they both already know it's the only way. He needs to be a cape right now, a strategist, a hero, but the terror clawing up the inside of his chest belongs merely to Tim, a man who can't bear the idea of losing his beloved. Not again.
Kon looks down at him so tenderly Tim's heart hurts. He can't do this again, he thinks; it broke him before and it'll shatter him now. But Kon smiles at him—the sky is growing redder and the air already smells of smoke and Cyborg and Oracle need another ten minutes before the motherbox trap can be sprung, and Kon smiles anyway.
"You're not losing me this time, Rob," he says. The leather of his glove is smooth against Tim's cheek as Kon's thumb caresses along the lower edge of his mask. "Promise. It's just ten minutes—this chump won't know what hit him."
He leans in, presses a gentle kiss to Tim's forehead; his lips are warm and soft against Tim's skin. Tim's eyes are wide behind his mask. He has to get a grip, he knows; he's normally so much more levelheaded than this, he needs to keep his head screwed on straight if he's going to be useful at all out here, he... he can't be a distraction, he can't get Kon hurt—
"I'll give you a proper kiss when I get back," Kon tells him, and somehow even flashes a grin. "See? Now I have to come back to you safe 'n' sound."
Distantly, some horrible part of Tim is already packaging and processing that into the grief he doesn't want to drown in again. He can just picture himself falling to his knees by Kon's broken body, again, shaking him and demanding he wake up, that he promised he'd kiss him when they saw each other again—he can already feel the shards of that broken promise cutting into his heart and he hates himself for that, too.
"You'd better," he tells Kon. His voice, at least, comes out steady this time. "I—"
He can't even bring himself to joke. To tease and tell Kon or else I'll find someone else to cosplay Star Trek with next summer, or anything stupid like that. On any other day, in any other battle, with any other opponent, sure.
But today?
He cups Kon's face in his hands, draws him in, presses their foreheads together. Tries to convince himself he isn't saying goodbye. "Be careful, clone boy."
"I will." Kon gives his shoulders a quick squeeze, still smiling at him. Tim doesn't know how he does it. It's one of the many things he'll never be able to stop admiring about him; the thought makes his heart lurch.
And then Kon is tapping a finger to his comm again, as that blood-red streak in the sky draws nearer, and Tim desperately tries to find his usual levelheadedness somewhere deep beneath all the panic, all the instincts clamoring at him to keep Kon safe. He has to make himself useful.
"I can buy you that time," Kon tells Cyborg. "I'll hold him off until you're ready."
The comm crackles again as Vic answers, but Tim hardly registers it. He's too busy watching Kon shoot up into the night sky, his silhouette dark against the stars.

Dobson’s favorite cartoon reviewed: The adventures of spandex girl in New York aka the Miraculous Ladybug movie
So THIS is not going to be about a Dobson comic, but rather with the lack of Dobson posting shit out here, I thought I give my opinion about something Dobson would have likely sperged out within the last few months. What could it be I want to talk about? The riots? The death of RBG? Cuties?
Are you insane? My brain may function better than Dobson’s, but even so I am not touching those subjects with a tong, seeing how I myself am lacking detailed knowledge on such subjects. No. I am talking about the cartoon that makes Dobson’s little brain (and dick) all tingly: Miraculous Ladybug.
For starters, let me just say that despite being an animation fan myself, I am not really into this show at all. For a magical girl show that goes on for over three seasons at this point, I just feel like nothing happens in it. Sure, A LOT of tokusatsu and magical girl shows run on repetitive monster of the week formulas, but overall they will still have some progression to themselves. Growing up with Sailor Moon, I always loved the first season and how it actually made me feel like things are increasingly at stake as the story progressed. Especially in the final episodes when the Senshis actually died protecting Sailor Moon and it was only thanks to a Deus ex machina everyone was reincarnated again. As melodramatic as Sailor Moon could be, at least each story arc had a beginning and ending that did not overstay its welcome. Ladybug meanwhile can be summed up as followed:
Teenage girl is thirsty for obvious blond boy whose dad wants to get magic jewelry to necromance his comatose wife. Teenage girl gets magic jewelry and turns into heroine in ladybug mustered spandex suit that makes rule34 artists all tingly. Same goes for boy she has the hots for, only he becomes gimp catsuit shota bait. Bad guy transforms random citizens who feel down for some reason (often times connected to a blond whose family name Dobson can’t write) into action figure like super villains. Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat them, the damage is reseted, Ladybug and Cat Noir never figure out who the other one is despite things being so obvious Ray Charles could have seen that shit coming. Repeat not just for one, but ALL seasons so far and add as little as possible storywise to increase the roaster of characters, but not progress the plot.
All that said, I can say that there are worse shows out there and for a show meant to sell toys to girls and be about a female hero, it is not THAT bad. But a) the creator is an asshole (think of functional Dobson) and b) there are still better shows to watch, even within the preteen magical girl genre, than this. Not to forget that this thing may be the indirect successor of Totally Spies and give certain people internet related fetishes within the next few years.
So, why am I believing Dobson would talk about the show at least for today more than he already tends to do on average? Because Ladybug actually got now a movie.
Well, it is called a movie, but in reality it is more of a 3 parter to start the fourth season if you really look into it. The thing is called Miraculous World: New York – United HeroeZ. It clocks in around 65 minutes and focuses on Marinette and Adrien in New York, teaming up with new heroes that are so unsubtlety promoted in this movie, I expect them to get their own spin off series by the end of next year so the showmakers can milk the cow even drier.
Let me try to elaborate in what is going to be a less than just a bit snarky summary with a few critical points and jokes at Dobson’s expense thrown in here. In other words, the typical biased youtube reaction channel/movie review.  Spoiler warnings are obvious and I promise than unlike certain pedos on youtube I am not going to focus on the assets of underaged French girls. I do warn however for increased levels of making a fool of myself by writing a multi page “mock summary” of this thing.
So because the movie is based on a children show, it has a very basic set up; Adrien and Marinette’s class is invited to spend one week in New York, because of a pointless international collaboration thing referred to as French-American Friendship week. The sheer existence of this showing that a) we needed any reason to get them there and b) this special was worked on LONG before COVID19 hit us all. And yes, I know animation takes its time to be done, I just think it is funny how in today’s international political climate and health situation this thing has become outdated already, when it is hitting the tv just now.
At the same time, Adrien’s dad suspects that an artifact currently shown at a museum in New York may be a missing Miraculous that was owned by the Marquis de La Fayette and gifted to George Washington during the American Revolution. And yes, we are going there and you can guess what Hawkmoth’s goal this time is, while at the same time history gets fucked up the butt.
But before we can get to any action in New York, we have to deal with the one thing Ladybug is known for best: Cringy shipping bait.
Look, I know that shipping is a part of magical girl shows in general, but the shit going on in this cartoon is not only drawn out tediously even for children tv standards, I find it makes some characters outright dumb and unlikable. We get it Marinette, Adrien makes you tingle. But can you stop cringing your way through life around him in a manner that would make Tomoko Kuroki say that you are freaking pathetic?
Tumblr media
I don’t want anybody else. when I think about Adrien I...
Just three minutes into this movie she essentially melts away at a poster of Adrien and throughout the first 15 minutes she just simps away in the big blue yonder. For example by asking Adrien’s dad to allow his son to travel with the others to New York, obviously stumbling upon her words when she needs to remind herself that she can only see Adrien now as a friend and not love interest (because this is supposedly set after season 3, when she decided to go for the second price in form of the guy who plays guitar), insisting that she is only “friends” to the point even her best friend Alya gets fed up. Or when Marinette gets more than just “a bit” nervous at the chance of sitting on her flight to New York next to Adrien, resulting in her fucking that chance up so badly, I felt an headache approaching.
Not gonna lie, I had to pause a few times because it got so cringy for me, I wondered why Dobson makes primarily jokes on Adrien’s expense when Marinette herself is female thirst personified. Even the movie seems to point out how the two are so obvious to each other, when Alya has the following to say about them: I can’t decide if they are the most cutest people I know, or the most embarrassing.
Thankfully it is at 18 minutes into it, we FINALLY get something of a conflict. While still on the plane (And Adrien and Marinette watching a sunset through a window) a villain shows up, trying to steal the jet engine midflight.
Tumblr media
 Just roll with it
Thankfully, before the plane can go down thanks to a Gremlin on the wing- I mean TECHNO PIRATE, the real stars of the movie show up.
Wait, you thought this thing was going to be about Ladybug and Cat Noir being the primary heroes? WRONG!
Okay, to put the summary on hold and explain what I mean: This “movie” introduces us to “United HeroeZ”, a group of American superheroes. Yeah, turns out Miraculous is essentially set in your average “Superheroes are everywhere, but primarily US dominated territory” world and this story is meant to introduce us to them and have Ladybug and Cat Noir team up in order to save the day. And while I don’t necessarily HATE the characters, I have to admit that I can’t help myself but snark quite a bit about them. Not only are they for the most part just expies of well known superheroes, the way how prominent two of them in particular are featured in this movie makes it very, VERY obvious that (As I stated earlier) this thing aims just to create a tie-in show for the creators to make more money of the property. Not just that, but their presence in a way reduces Adrien and Marinette’s importance as characters, even though the new ones at best would count as supportive characters overall. Which again makes me wonder, what does it say about Ladybug and Cat Noir’s “impact” in their own franchise when I actually find myself more interested in the side characters made to promote new toys, than the actual leads?
Anyway, United HeroeZ defeats Techno Pirate and in doing so we are introduced to the main members of the group which are relevant for this movie:
So please, give an applause for…. MAJESTIA (aka actually decent Powergirl redesign/Non Superman)
Tumblr media
SPARROW (Aka yet another Robin that may get hit by a crowbar)
Tumblr media
UNCANNEY VALLEY (aka The Shipper on Deck/Cleopatra in Tin Foil/Vision as your Waifu/the dumbest name you could have chosen for a character!)
Tumblr media
NIGHT OWL (aka Alan Moore is going to be pissed!/Oh look, it’s Batman!)
Tumblr media
You get where I am coming from when I call them expies, right?
Anyway, with the plane safe the class finally gets to New York. Both Sparrow and Uncanney Valley get tasked to go undercover with the students and assure they are save during the trip, because plot reasons and New York is supposedly enough of a safe place that their services aren’t needed to fight bigger threats currently. Which confirms at the very least that a) this is not the Marvel Universe cause at this point the town may be ground zero yet again and b) a way more enjoyable version of the Big Apple than the real deal.
By the way, these are Uncanney (left) and Sparrow’s (right) civilian identities :
Tumblr media
I can now imagine Dobson wanting to proclaim how problematic the character is for being a native American who looks the way she does. But believe me. It gets kinda worse in all the right ways.
Also, we are 28 minutes into the movie and we are introduced to the dumbest thing in the movie yet. The arch enemy of the Condiment King; Hot Dog Dan.
Tumblr media
A superhero hot dog vendor seller with a flying hot dog truck, whose hot dogs give you temporarily some random superpowers when you eat them. And it seems he uses hot dog tongs as weapons.
Tumblr media
I don’t know what the people making this show take, but I am torn between wanting some of that myself and putting them into rehab.
I really bring the character just up because he is as a concept in itself so ridiculous that part of me thinks he is a fever dream of Dobson. Otherwise he has no real bearing on what is going to happen on the rest of the movie. He is just relevant for a three minute long scene of a house roof party during which Adrien and Marinette dance for a bit.
Speaking of relevance, the next day the class finally gets to do something on the trip that leads into conflict for our heroes to face. During a visit of the museum where the La Fayette related Miraculous is hold, Uncanny and Sparrow decide to play shipper on deck by forcing Marinette and Adrien in a room and attempting to set a really stupid plot into motion (and no, I don’t mean they enforce a reenactment of Steven Universe or something). At the same time the villains finally do something, when Hawkmoth (now in New York) turns Techno Pirate into his latest minion and have him attack the museum to steal a saber by La Fayette as distraction, while he takes the charm he is out for. Long story short: Our heroes FINALLY transform and have to fight with Uncanney and Sparrow against Techno Pirate on the roofs of Manhattan.
And while I don’t think it is all that great of a fight, it still means something aside of Marinette cringing her way through the plot is happening and the heroes are actually in decent peril. Plus during the fight the movie gives me one of the funniest moments possible. You want to know what it is?
Well, while fighting the bad guy, Cat Noir and Ladybug obviously trigger their miraculouses. And what does Ladybugs miraculous turn into this time, to help her develop a strategy to defeat the villain and save the day?
Tumblr media
A bikepump.
Tumblr media
... yeah, I am going to give all of you now 5 minutes to laugh it off. Believe me, I needed them too.
Sure, it is a cartoon and I doubt anyone working on the show is even aware of our favorite uncare bear, but come on. At this point the universe itself is either mocking Dobson or tries to set up the perfect opportunity for an obvious joke from my side.
Not helped by the fact that once the bike pump shows up, the dialogue between characters that follows is, and I quote:
Cat: A bicycle pump? What are you going to do with that?
Ladybug: I may have an idea, but you wouldn’t like it
Anyway, believe it or not, the fight actually ends with a surprising shock moment. Cat Noir, while having his cataclysm powers active (you know, the powers that make him decompose anything he touches), being thrown by Techno Pirate at Ladybug, resulting in Uncanney protecting her and being turned into scrap metal. Which in turn causes Techno Pirate to make the acquaintance with Majestia’s fist, as Uncanney is more or less her adopted daughter and I guess she has seen what was going on (but did not interfere because the plot says so) until now, pummeling him so hard he flies through a few buildings and causes at least three 9/11 to happen on this day in New York.
So, yeah. Uncanney is dead. The heroes experiencing their darkest hour in the movie.
… welp, can’t have that for long, so less than 2 minutes later Ladybug uses the Magical bikepump…
5 minutes of laughter later
Got it out of the system? Good. As I was saying; She uses the fetish toy to reset all the damage done by the akumatized villain and in doing so fixes Uncanney too.
Welp, that was a waste of tension. Guess someone watched the entire Lars dying thing from Steven Universe.
So, damage undone, but Majestia and Night Owl pretty pissed at what happened, want Ladybug and Cat Noir to give up their miraculouses (I assume that is the correct plural) until they leave New York. You would expect this to result in some dramatic chase scene or confrontation with the older heroes, but because this movie has just like 22 minutes left and we need to close act two now, our heroes instead flee and end up in the sewers of New York.
There they do NOT team up with a group of mutated reptiles, but have a heart to heart talk (I never thought I would agree with Dobson on something, but I have to agree on this: The show is kinda fixated on having important stuff happening in sewer channels) that is sort of an argument Cat Noir and Ladybug also had during the fight. You see, because those two idiots haven’t  figured out their respective civilian identities yet (something even Sailor Moon would have figured out AFTER THREE SEASONS!) Marinette assumed that Cat Noir would be in Paris while she is in New York to keep the city save. And Adrien/Noir was okay with making the promise of keeping the city initially save, because his dad only allowed him on the trip the day after he made the promise. So when the two transform out of sight of the other in New York and meet, instead of asking some logical questions (like “where is Marinette/Adrien and why is Cat/Ladybug here?”) they kinda argue wtf Cat is doing here while Paris may be in danger.
Long story short, she is angry at him, he feels guilty for having disappointed her and the thing with turning Uncanney into scrap, Paris was attacked by Hawkmoth’s secretary unleashing temporarily some monster clone because Hawkmoth thought that distracts the heroes in Paris (and really just results in damage that makes a city that experienced the destruction of Notre Dame the year prior just feel numb) and because this is the turning point in the plot, our hero needs to do something just a bit too melodramatic. Which is that Adrien gives up his powers and runs away.
… so, up to the final part in which things to care about start to happen.
Hawkmoth now has the Miraculous and unleashes its Kwami who is this eagle themed little thing referring to itself as the “Kwami of Freedom”.
Tumblr media
… Yeah, this thing was NOT around for the last 200 years, wasn’t it?
Anyway, it states that its powers are based on “freeing” people of limitations to achieve their full potential. What does that mean practically? It means that when Techno Pirate holds its powers on top of his regular powers increased by being akumatized, he can unleash some energy attack that removes moral inhibitions when getting hit by it.
… So it basically unleashes the Purge.
Which is exactly what happens to Majestia and Night Owl, turning one into Man of Steel Superman causing nine additional 9/11s on top of the three prior (how the fuck did this movie manage to turn an American tragedy in a measuring unit?) and the other into All Star Batman.
Oh and it turns the President of the USA into a worse war monger than people accuse Trump of being.
Tumblr media
Oh, this is NOT going to sit well with anyone...
… Yeah, sidenote: The president of the USA in this movie is essentially Michelle Obama who ALSO is a superhero with an American flag theme and besties with Majestica and Night Owl, trying to protect the exchange students. Because supposedly NOTHING better needs to be done. Once she gets hit by the “Freedom Feathers” or whatever you want to call the Kwami power, she pulls out the Football and activates turrets all over the USA, ready to blow up anything that moves into smithereens. Including at least 10.000 such turrets on the roofs of New York and a nuclear missile in the bay near the Statue of Liberty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll take it to the people with the eagle not the dove. If there is one thing that obedience is symptomatic of, it’s W-E-A-P-O-N-R-Y... WEAPONRY, from above!
(BTW, the rocket is animated like shit!)
I get the feeling someone on the production team is not the biggest fan of America.
Anyway, with the heroes being useless and Marinette and Adrien mopping around for what happened during the battle (and Adrien being tricked by his dad to leave New York and get back on a plane cause this town is not save and Adrien can’t fucking stand up to his emotionally abusive father), Uncanney and Sparrow have to get the ball rolling so the day can be saved. Which means that Sparrow and Ladybug try to fight and distract people for time (off screen mostly), while Uncanney hijacks Adrien’s plane and brings him back to take up the gimp suit of Cat Noir again. Oh yeah, almost forgot, Uncanney, cause she is a robot, has figured out easily who Ladybug and Adrien really are cause scanning. Making our heroes literally dumber than a walking toaster.
So the four finally together, fight Techno Pirate on the Statue of Liberty a second time (after some hijinx with another corrupted hero whose power is literally to create portals through doors, but he is irrelevant for anything so I skipped him up until now) and defeat him. He loses the Miraculous, Sparrow takes it on and becomes its next official owner, resulting in her costume turning into THIS
Tumblr media
So now we have the native American girl turn into an eagle based superhero with a costume that looks like out of a western based Lego set.
Real talk here: Unlike Dobson I do not believe that everything is political or offensive or some other shit. In fact I hate his comic where he talks about “skin color changes” of the black characters in Ladybug, because he essentially tries to create a race issue and tension where there is none, just because he is a social justice moron. Which gets especially funny when his ideas for a progressive female results in characters like the black rat pirat who kicks you in the face for being hetero or infantilizing the characters of Patty to make them visually more appealing to Max Karson.
That said, in this day and age, doing a character like that… kinda yaiks.
Like, on one hand I think the girl has an enjoyable personality and the design of her hero outfit is okay for a kids cartoon. It’s not like she also talks in some cartoonishly native way or has suddenly a tomahawk as a weapon.
On the other hand, it is kinda stereotypical from multiple ankles and unfortunately there is nothing to the character past this point. Oh sure, Sparrow has now Miraculous powers, but really, all she does now is just use her powers to nullify Techno Pirates influence on the adult heroes before Majestia manages to reenact the bad ending for Majora’s mask and that is it.
Granted,  there is Hawkmoth also almost starting World War 3, but that is really just happening at the site and dealt with almost instantly. To be more specific, because Ladybug and Cat Noir did not hand over their Miraculous, he lets Techno Pirate launch one of the missiles near the Statue of Liberty (worse president than Trump, honestly) but before the thing can hit anything, Majestia sweeps it away and throws it into the sun.
You know, if the show writers want to make Adrien’s dad even remotely “sympathetic” or interesting/intelligent, they increasingly fail. Cause I don’t know about you, but causing World War 3 does not really feel like it will benefit in bringing your comatose wife back.
Bottom line: Nuke has been burned, Techno Pirate gets defeated, all the damage reseted, Sparrow is now the official owner of the latest Miraculous and renames herself Eagle, everyone is happy, there is a big celebration for the class and Hawkmoth is convinced there might be other missing Miraculous all over the globe he wants to get his hands on, meaning season 4 may have more globe trotting Miraculous “action” once it starts.
And also the last scene of the movie shows Eagle and Uncanney meeting some other guardian of the Miraculous box who wants the Eagle charm, but she seemingly convinces him to team up, solidifying that this one hour “movie” was really just a backdoor pilot for a tie in series about an American centered heroine that is so big, a freaking monster truck could pass through this backdoor.
Yeah, if you can’t tell, I am not a big fan of what I saw.
Look, I will openly admit that my opinion on this is in large parts already tainted by me not being part of the demographic which enjoys the show. So this was never going to be considered “good” in my opinion. That said, I tried to be neutral to it for the sake of fairness. And I kinda failed.
Sorry, but I genuinely do not think this is a good “movie”. First, with barely 65 minutes I don’t really consider it a movie and more of a tv special meant to lead into the next season of the show. Second, I expect of a movie based on a tv show to have slightly higher stakes and presentation value to it than what you would expect from any average episode it has to offer. Which this thing doesn’t. Oh sure, the animation is slightly improved in some scenes, but overall just the same. And frankly, the writing is just still as “bad” as in the original show, if in parts not even worse. Aside of the typical stables, such as the cringy romance that does not move forward but is kinda on the forefront, the main heroes stumbling more or less into the situations instead of being more active in their duties, Hawkmoth not even in a movie having a genuine plan aside of “get this, see how it will help me defeat two kids and fail”, the movie also just never manages to induce a proper escalation of conflict to make it feel like something “special”. For example, we have a shitton of temporarily corrupted heroes. Do Ladybug and Cat Noir ever properly face them off at one point or have meaningful/fun interactions with Sparrow and Uncanney or each other outside of the first three minutes of the movie? Nope! I can name a few movies based on animated shows that gave me enjoyment, even those following basic shonen anime rules. But this one isn’t really among them. And taking into account that I consider at least the Steven Universe movie enjoyable in a dumb way, that says something.
There is also just the fact that it takes away from Ladybug and Cat Noir too much. Sure, I don’t like the romance stuff with them because I think it plays out in some of the cringiest way possible. But I would have been okay with them or other already established sidecharacters doing other stuff and having to face some conflict that is centered more around them.
Instead the movie finds this bizarre disbalance where it focuses too much and yet too little on completely new characters, that feel shoehorned in to create a starting point for a spin off, making Cat Noir and Ladybug secondary characters in their own movie.
I mean sure, I have seen many shonen anime based movies where there is a set of “movie only” characters interacting with our heroes, but they don’t take too much away from the heroes being heroes. Say what you want about the 13th movie of any long running shonen anime, at least Luffy, Naruto, Son Goku etc. are still the central characters of their respective franchise affiliated flic. Here however we take too much away from Ladybug and Cat, while at the same time focusing also too much on their “struggle” as Marinette and Adrien (or rather just Marinette making a fool out of herself while Adrien is utterly obvious to her behavior) while the major heroics are reserved for the movie characters only, that this entire thing should just be renamed “The Adventures of Mummy Robot and Not Robin, also starring two underaged kids that Dobson is obsessed about!”
All that said, I will give it a few things.
1) Uncanney and Sparrow/Eagle, despite my jabs, are kinda enjoyable in terms of personality. So are their partners/parents (Majestica and Night Owl are actually the (adoptive?) mothers of their sidekicks and also a couple openly caling themselves love, so yay, L(GBT) representation) and if the show would ever decide to focus also a few episodes on other characters aside of Ladybug and Cat Noir, I wouldn’t mind to see them. I just don’t think they are the most original characters out there and I think I may speak for some fans of the show when I say it sucks, that when it comes to the “action” within this “action adventure show”, they take up the spotlight from the actual main characters.
2) The fight scenes against Techno Pirate were okay overall. Nothing mind blowing animation wise but okay for the standards of this franchise.
3) Eagle’s costume design is not the worst despite my jabs at it being “stereotypical”, at least under consideration of cartoon designs (again, I can think of more offensive shit from the 90s or the Dobbear himself)
4) Well, it wasn’t for me, but I can say it was at least still on the same level of quality as the show. Make out of that comment however whatever you want.
My verdict: Three out of five Dobson’s would approve this movie. The other two would rant about stereotypes and be too busy incest shipping Majestia with Uncanney based on one shot of the movie. And none of them would acknowledge the flaws that make the “movie” a badly disguised jumping point for a spin off that makes the Equestria Girls look subtle.
Hope you got some enjoyment out of this rant that ironically may have been overall more retarted and detailed than anything Dobson may ever say in regard of this movie.

What would have happened in chapter 2 if you decided to write it?
Eek I’m so sorry I took so long to answer this!
The longer I think about it, the more I think a second part would have really jumped the shark any way I’d have written it, but I did have some thoughts*, which got… uh, kinda long (hence me taking forever to answer your ask), so I’m gonna put them beneath a cut if I can figure out how.
Some of this was sort of charted out in a long chat between me and Py (specifically I think the bit with Papyrus showing up, which I think was her idea?), but that conversation was so long ago it’s been lost to the sands of time (and tumblr chat having no search function), so most of this is new and specific to the version I posted.
I had a couple of scenes in my head that were a little more defined, the rest was just kind of vague, and it never came to a conclusion, really. So I guess, in theory, all of those “Reader goes to Italy and carboloads themself into personal fulfillment, Sans dies of skelesyphilis, and his gf fucks off somewhere” fantasies can still happen. If, you know, by the end of me rambling about this, any of that still sounds, oh god, you know, fuck, appealing, or whatever. If not, then uhhh whoops sorry I don’t have any ending for you at all, my dude.**
Also this hasn’t been beta’d or anything, I didn’t want to give it the same status as the stuff I actually publish, just like, on principle? so like. keep your expectations in check maybe? especially re: some of the most cliche and melodramatic dialogue I’ve written to date lol
The first scene was to take place on Jan 2nd:
Your friend, the one you’re now glad isn’t speaking to you, is standing at your door, anxiously clutching a small, rectangular cardboard box bearing a sticker you recognize as the logo of your favorite bakery. She speaks to you, and you feel your stomach flip.
“Um, so, these are for you. Uh, happy new year, by the way, and um, the frosting probably got a little smushed- you know how high they like to pile it on. But, you know, they’re fresh, so- should be good. Got your favorites.”
She hands you the box and you peek inside. Cupcakes, of course. Half the frosting’s on the lid, like she said, and you stare at them, dumbfounded. Can’t look at her.
She clears her throat.
“I know what I’m like, sometimes. I can be melodramatic and petty and- and self-destructive. I do dumb shit like drive away my closest friend with the silent treatment because I didn’t get the answer I wanted. I’m so sorry. You were right, and, god, furthermore? The entire thing was just… stupid, you know? Can you forgive me?”
You sway on your feet, dizzy.
“Of course.”
She steps forward and hugs you, and as her arms wrap around you, so does an awful panic.
Your cell phone is burning a hole in the pocket of your bathrobe, from the text you had received ten minutes prior, alerting you to your friend’s impending arrival:
Sans: she’s coming over to your place. please don’t tell her anything. i’ll figure something out. sorry to ask you to do this. i’ll make it up to you
Sans: ok that sounded wrong. not what i meant. everything sounds wrong though
Sans: i’m sorry
“Oh, thank you,” she says, sounding more grateful than she should, her scarf tickling your cheek. “That’s such a relief. Thank you.”
Really just laying that guilt on thick. Uhhh let’s see, after that:
You tell her you’re sick just to get her to go away and she believes you because you look horrible and are wearing a bathrobe in the middle of the afternoon
Cue angst about furthering the extent of your dishonesty
The next day she texts you just to “catch up” but in the middle of it, drops that Sans has been more than usually distant. They talked about so much and she knows it’s going to take time for things to get better, but since that first conversation on New Year’s Day, he’s kind of shut down-
But enough about her problems, what’s been going on with you? Oh, Not Much, you tell her. You’re still getting over your cold but you’ve gone back to work. It’s the truth, more or less. You have the sniffles, at any rate, though that’s more due to your daily extended heartbreak/guilt crying alone sessions than any physical malady.
A week later, your friend is back to sending you memes and talking about her job, your favorite shows you watch. Sans is living with her. Everything is normal, on the surface. Sans chimes in on the group chat every now and again, but that’s it. Not another word from him. The awful feeling in the pit of your stomach has faded to a dull ache that only bothers you at night.
Which is why it’s a total surprise when Papyrus shows up on your doorstep one evening and lets himself in. You didn’t even know he was in town. You’ve met him a few times, loved the guy, but he’s not here for a social call.
Well, okay, he is, but it’s not a pleasant one. He is. So. Disappointed. In you. He’s prepared a speech! To express the enormity of your fuckup.
About the 45-second mark of which, you break down sobbing. He stops immediately and grabs you a glass of water and a cool washcloth for your neck.
He apologizes as you calm down, and you have a long talk with him about the hows and the whys. It’s incredibly cathartic, you’ve never told anyone about any of this situation, and you’re drained by the time you’re done. But as he leaves, he has this look on his face and you hate it- pity tinged with trace amounts of leftover dismay, so it’s a relief to lock yourself in for the evening, even if the alternative (i.e. being alone with your thoughts and your guilt and everything else) isn’t much better.
An hour or two later, you get another text from Sans: “i’m sorry again, i didn’t know he was gonna do that.”
Interrupting myself here to say as an aside, so much for a synopsis of my vague concept; this is now going on 800 words. Look at all this work you definitely made me do that I didn’t put on myself at all. Anyway.
Sans text, continued: “he’s in town cuz of me, though, so i think i gotta listen to him. he’s uh saying we should get together and talk about how i”
“hang on”
Five minutes later: “scratch that i’m not listening to him.”
Ten full minutes later: “we can have lunch tomorrow. to talk. if you want. you don’t have to agree to it. i’ll understand.”
It’s about two in the morning when you finally respond: “Where and when?”
He replies immediately.
It’s a good sandwich. A shame you can’t do much more than just poke at it and nibble at the toppings that have fallen out of it onto the wax paper basket liner. And the bag of chips is completely out of the question. You’ve already put them away for later, for when you might eventually start regretting skipping lunch because of the awful somersaults your innards keep doing. Sans’s sandwich isn’t faring much better- he’s twirling his frilly-ended toothpick between his fingers, occasionally poking it into his dill pickle wedge.
Neither of you has said a word past your perfunctory greeting and the order you’d both placed at the counter eight minutes ago. The rest of the sandwich shop doesn’t seem to care, though. Most of its other patrons are absorbed in getting their order and getting out, or making the most of their too-brief lunch hour. It’s noisy, and it would be the perfect setting for the conversation you’re supposed to be having, you credit Sans with that much. If you could just speak.
You’re staring off over his shoulder, at the display rack of different brands of hot sauce, when he startles you by biting off over half of his pickle, chewing, and swallowing with his eyes closed and a sigh.
“thanks for… you know, not telling her yet.”
“I didn’t do it for you,” you say with enough sourness to give that pickle a run for its money.
“no, yeah, i know- i just. yeah. i’ll tell her, though. soon. uh, -ish.”
“Will you tell me when you do it? I don’t think I can take another unexpected visitor, and  I-” you laugh, ”-I’m going nuts checking my phone, panicking at every single notification.”
“‘course. yeah.”
“Okay. Thanks. For that.”
“sure.”
You tear off a piece of sliced turkey that’s hanging out the edge of your sandwich.
“…can i say somethin’?”
“That’s why we’re here, isn’t it?”
“i didn’t- uh, know you had- i just thought you were riding the same wave of… whatever that was, as me.”
He clears his throat.
“i didn’t know you felt that w- i mean, that you had actual feelings for- at least, not until you started sayin’ all those things–”
“–I changed my mind, I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”
He ducks his head.
“yeah, okay.”
You take another bite of your sandwich, chewing as you scramble for something, anything, else to say.
“So. Uh, how’s, um, y'know, everything else?”
He blinks, shakes his head, and laughs.
“what, you really wanna know? or are you askin’ just to ask?”
Shit. No, you don’t really want to know.
“Yeah. I wanna know.”
He leans back, the plastic of the chair back creaking, and looks out the window behind you.
“shit… it’s all… it’s all fallin’ apart on me.”
“I’m sorry,” you say, already a well-honed reflex.
“not your fault, really. in the end. i’m just already tired. a week ago, this’s all i wanted, for everything to go back to normal. but it turns out normal was just a lot of her pretending she could stand me. and we’re not pretending, anymore. so… but that’s supposed to help us sort everything out, right?”
Goddamn your bleeding heart that got you into this in the first place.
“feels capricious of me, right? but if it’s gonna end, why can’t it just end already? but i’m not allowed to give up yet, because that’s not what we’re doing, we’re working through our issues.”
He pushes his basket over to the seat next to him, and folds his arms on the table, head nestled into them.
“even though giving up is all i wanna do anymore,” he says, voice muffled by his sleeves.
“Every relationship requires work, Sans,” you say. Platitudinal, but true, if not particularly helpful.
“but at what point do you cut your losses? is it before or after the seventieth thing this week she tells you you’ve been doing wrong all along that she never bothered to mention to you before? you know she prefers the loose end of the tp to come out underhanded? i didn’t. she’s wrong, but hey, fuck- anything for my baby. i’m tired. i didn’t know it was gonna be like this.”
Underhanded toilet paper rolls? Do you even know who she is?
“i should just go ahead and tell her about this whole thing, already, see if that- i dunno, breaks us beyond repair. but if i do that now when all our wounds are still fresh, i don’t get to say i tried to fix things, and i guess on some level, i need that.”
He rubs his face.
“fuck, listen to me whine. i’m making it sound worse than it is. ”
“Dude, I don’t know. I’m still horrified by the toilet paper thing.”
He snorts.
“i don’t even use the stuff much, so it wasn’t worth makin’ a whole thing out of it.”
“Okay, but I’m fixated on it. It’s like, all I can think about. What the fuck?”
You’re overcome with the strangest feeling- it shouldn’t be so odd to you now, three weeks into your guilt spiraling, but you want to text her about this so badly, to give her grief about it. And if this were a normal situation, if you hadn’t made everything awful, you wouldn’t hesitate. But you’re having a clandestine lunch with her boyfriend to discuss the awful thing you did, and therefore you can’t give her shit about her weird habit you now know about thanks to him, which is what friends do. Friends don’t let friends put the roll on the wrong way without at least dragging them for it for the rest of their natural lives, so can you still even call yourself her friend?
Probably not, huh? That, and the other thing you did. Friends don’t do that, either.
Your smile fades as you start to understand on a much more personal level what he meant. You doubt you’ll be granted the same mercy as him, of working out your issues, and until then you have to live like this, unable to even joke around without it turning bitter. You’re going to lose her, too- you’re going to lose them both, maybe, probably, and the waiting and pretending is only adding to your misery. It’s a hollow kind of wanting, for something to be over and done with, but it’s rooted in you all the same.
You finally decide you’re not going to finish your sandwich, but you wrap it back up in the wax paper liner anyway, and start putting your coat back on.
“Well. Thanks for meeting with me. I think I’d better head back to work, now.”
“you realize we didn’t talk about what happened at all, right?”
You shrug. “Maybe we shouldn’t. Maybe we don’t need to.”
“you don’t- you don’t have anything you wanna say to me.”
You close your eyes and sigh.
“I’m… sorry?”
“shit, yeah, me too.”
“It was a mistake.”
“unequivocally, yeah.”
“I think that about covers it, don’t you?”
He nods silently.
“Then… I’ll see you around.”
You almost make it to the door, leaving him slumped in his seat with his uneaten sandwich. You look outside at the cold, slushy parking lot, check the time, and nearly get in your car and drive back to work. But instead, your feet carry you back to the table, back to Sans.
“I do actually just have one question.”
He looks up at you, and you can see deep into his eye sockets, and the dark semicircles beneath them, how tired he is.
“sure. anything,” he answers.
“If you had known how I felt, would it all have gone- would we be here now, having this conversation? Or would I have gone home before and none of this would have ever happened?”
Your fool brain wants you to continue: Or would you have stayed?
But you already know the answer to that one, so you stop yourself; these questions are dangerous enough, as is.
He actually looks somewhat taken aback.
“i don’t- i dunno. and i dunno how much good speculating about it’s gonna do. what’s done is done.”
“Please. It’s the one answer I feel like I have any right to.”
He shoves his hands in his jacket pockets and leans back.
“yeah. i think i’d have done the same thing.”
Your chair creaks as you fall back into it, defeated.
“Why?”
“what do you mean, why? did it seem like i gave a shit who else i was hurting at the time?”
He slumps a little further down, and in a softer, more soothing tone, says, “what are you after? do i care now that i hurt your feelings? …yeah. not that it really counts for anything.”
“It counts,” you croak.
“hmm.”
He stands, finally.
“guess you’re right, though. i’d better be getting back to work.”
He shrugs on his wool coat and winds his scarf around his neck.
“you uh… you gonna be ok?”
Are you? Feels like… maybe not?
The sobbing starts, even as you will it not to- christ, no, anything but that.
“oh. uh. shit.”
People are staring, now. You hide your face behind your hands, try to even out your voice to reassure him and your new audience that no, really, you’re fine, but it just comes out all the more overwrought for your efforts. Sans is useless, grimacing, hands outstretched towards you, placating, like with a panicking animal, and it reminds you of the conversation you’d had that night, when you’d offered yourself up as a shoulder to cry on.
“you wanna get out of here?” he asks, and you nod, rolling your eyes at your own uninvited histrionics and swiping at your cheeks.
“k,” he says, and when you open your eyes again, you’re sitting on your couch, in your apartment.
“got tissues?”
You swallow.
“Uh, bedroom, but- please don’t go in there, it’s- it’s bad.”
“k.”
He returns a few seconds later with a handful of toilet paper, and you take it from him.
“hey. it’s gonna be okay. y’know why?”
You blow your nose.
“Why?”
“no matter what else happens, you’ll always know: you put the toilet paper on the holder the right way.”
You chuckle weakly into your wad of tissue.
“You’re right. I’ll always have that.”
He sinks down on the couch next to you. Not too close.
You sigh and slump forward, elbows on your knees, calmer now.
“Well, that wasn’t supposed to happen. The- you know, the turning on the waterworks in a sandwich joint. That was embarrassing. I’m embarrassed.”
“happens. plus, i think you’ve earned the right to cry.”
Your chin wobbles again, threatening.
“Oh? I have? Cool. ‘Cuz I don’t know what I have the right to feel, or do, right now. It all feels wrong.”
“yeah. i know,” he mumbles.
“Sometimes I start feeling sad, for me, because of what I’m about to lose because of this? But then- no, can’t do that, because- hey, maybe I should have thought of that before we-” you catch your breath.
“yeah.”
“I’m mad at myself, and I’m pretty okay with that. But then sometimes I think maybe I’m mad at you for like, seven different reasons, and half of those reasons conflict with each other, but I can’t even… stay mad at you like I think I want to.”
You aren’t looking at him, but you can feel his stare.
“like how?”
You poke and prod at your face, trying to relieve some of the tension headache that’s building around your eye sockets and temples.
“Like, as your friend, I’m annoyed that you put up with ALL of her bullshit. You’re such a doormat when it comes to her. But as her friend, I’m so fucking appalled that you’d sleep with me, her best friend, less than a month after the breakup of a like- how many years? Six?”
“…seven.”
“Seven year relationship. Fuck, sorry, not to belabor the point or anything, but- yeah.” You sniffle. “And then- here’s the kicker. Just as me, alone, not relative to anyone else- I keep wishing you’d just fucking stayed in bed after I poured my heart out to you. Like I have any right to feel that. And of all of it, all the shit, that’s the one that sticks the worst, so the rest don’t get a chance to mean anything.”
The second you turn your head to make eye contact with him, he’s there, leaning in, warm. Big old eye sockets looking at you just like you’d wanted for so long.
“i should’ve. i know.”
Your breath leaves you, almost-but-not-quite on a sob, as he kisses you, and everything is right and better, if only for a split second.
“Wait.”
“yeah- yes. ok.”
“What about-” you can’t bring yourself to speak to him more than a few inches removed from the kiss, as if tethered there by a spell, “-what about everything you just said, what- this isn’t fixing things.”
“no.”
“And I can’t- you can’t do this to me again.”
“i won’t. it won’t be like last time.”
“You can’t promise that,” you say as matter-of-factly as you can manage, given the circumstances.
“keep thinkin’ about how i can’t remember the last time i felt the way i did when you were sayin’ all that stuff about me.”
Your cheeks flush even harder, as if the rest of you hadn’t yet gotten the memo.
“That’s called an orgasm.”
The ridge above his nasal cavity scrunches up pleasantly when he laughs.
“We shouldn’t.  If it was wrong before, it’s so much worse now.”
“i know.”
You cast your eyes aside to your front door, then down to where your hands are almost touching as you lean towards each other on the couch.
“You’re so full of shit, you know that?” you ask. “Fuck you for making me fall for it twice.”
Your eyelids flutter shut as you pull him in by the back of his neck.
THEN YOU FUCK AGAIN!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!! HOW COULD YOU!!!
hehe
He keeps his promise, more or less. It’s not her he has to run off to, at the end. You both have half a day of work ahead of you. You’re both late, and it’s as good an excuse as any for you to pretend he won’t still be going home to her, later.
You still have questions. You can’t focus at work.
He never promised much of anything, you now realize. It felt like he was offering much more, but- so what? Is he actually done with her? After everything? What does this look like tomorrow? A week from now?
What, you seriously think he’s going to leave her for you? Only if she kicks him out, you think, bitterly. Which makes you what, exactly? A consolation prize for his neglected ego?
You call him right as you’re getting off work, but hang up before he can answer. You want the truth??? You can’t handle the truth!!!
Things get better as they get worse. He starts coming over to see you, at least once a day. He stays an hour or two when he can. He talks with you in bed.
Yours, now, you think, sometimes.
You don’t ask him when he’s going to tell her. He’s choosing you, so he has to, right?
He will. Soon.
*Now I’m looking back at the beginning of all this and I’m like-
Tumblr media
Some thoughts??? Bitch! You just wrote most of the damn thing! And after you said you weren’t gonna!
…So CLEARLY I had like, a little more I evidently wanted to say about this fucking thing. So there you go???
GOD that was a lot of dashes in there though, huh? I didn’t even try to keep the number down.
Oops hehhe
But, uh, yeah! I don’t know how this ends! Or even, at the risk of sounding a bit pretentious, if it ends! Maybe everyone learns from their mistakes and suffers the consequences! Or maybe nobody does! Or maybe it’s a weird combination of learning and not learning and suffering and not suffering because it’s supposed to be like, way more complicated than that.
**Or maybe reader and Sans’s gf wind up auditioning for the same local network tv wrestling show and they have lots of sexual wrestling tension together and also reader has like a will-they-won’t-they thing with an 80s disaster caricature of Marc Maron and they both bond with a group of wonderful interesting women and get to create something bigger than themselves!
God, I love GLOW. Maybe just go watch GLOW instead of this, it’s like, basically the same thing only with more eighties vibes and less skeletons and more women’s wrestling and less magical penises.
So really, not the same thing at all except for the one plot point of sleepin’ with your best friend’s dude that they kind of share, but very very good, you know?
Anyway! I love getting asks (I apparently love them so much that I can’t help myself and end up writing almost an entire chapter just to answer them), and fleshing out all the vagueness a little more without the self-imposed pressure of having to finish it into something publishable was really fun. So thanks for this ask!

Chapter 1.1 Marked
Trystan
Biology class always put me to sleep. Okay, class, in general, puts me to sleep. There was a problem with that. I dream of Jace all the time. Almost every night if I were, to be honest. It's sorta baffling because we spend most of our time together, so I can't imagine why my imagination needed any more time with him, but apparently left to its own devices, it's Jace Blackwell 24/7, on every channel. They weren't all, those kinds of dreams. Mostly they were innocent, everyday dreams, with the occasional quirky thing, like being able to fly. One time, I dreamed we had both been killed. He had tried to save me from a killer and the killer had ripped his throat out and then proceeded to do the same thing to me before I could help Jace. I remember waking with a jerk and calling Jace on the phone, at like 3:00 in the morning, out of breath and frightened. He answered groggily and proceeded to rip me a new one for waking him up. Then, of course, there were those dreams. I don't remember when I first had one and more than once I woke frightened and terrified as well. Not sure why. Because there was nothing terrifying about Jace. He was a big teddy bear really, in that oh-my-god-you're-sexy-as-hell sort of way. Course I had to keep those thoughts to myself. I don't know how he would react, just that I don't think it'd be good. I didn't mind the dreams in which I knew I was dreaming. Like the one where we could fly, my subconscious seemed to tell me. Hey buddy, you're dreaming again. The one where we were killed, that one frightened me and stuck with me. It was so real, so vivid. And those dreams, well I didn't mind them at all. But waking up in the middle of biology with an erection and the image of Jace naked and just beyond my grasp certainly wasn't ideal.
"Mr. Cole?" I looked up at Mr. Garrow. He had an expectant look on his face. Apparently, he had asked me a question and was wanting an answer. "Uhhhh. Two?" A titter of laughter filled the classroom as I rubbed my eyes and discreetly readjusted myself. "Mr. Cole. I realize I'm boring you. But perhaps you can hide it a little better, like the rest of your classmates." "I'm sorry Mr. Garrow. I'll try harder to hide it." I grinned and grabbed my pencil and pretended to copy his scribble off the chalkboard. "Can anyone give me an example of what a genetic trait is. And no," Mr. Garrow looked at me for emphasis, " two is not a trait Mr. Cole." Another round of laughter filled the classroom. I tried to look abashed and pretended to scribble more. A couple of my classmates raised their hands. Mostly, the ones in the front row. Mr. Garrow pointed to Cassie Williams. She was a brain, probably the smartest person in the class. "We are a diploid organism, meaning that we received one set of genes, called alleles, from our father and the other set of alleles from our mother. The combination of these pairs of genes that we've inherited is called our "genotype. The genotype determines the actual traits (called the "phenotype") that we have; such as eye color, nearsightedness, and whether or not we have dimples" Cassie smiled real big and pointed to her dimples. "My dad has them, but my mother doesn't But dimples are a dominant genetic trait so since the phenotype is present, I automatically got them." Half the class was staring at her like she had just spoken Russian or grown a second head. (I wondered if that was a dominant genetic trait.) The other half had their phones, texting, oblivious to Cassie's answer. There might have been one or two scribbling notes. "Thank you, Cassie. That is a wonderful example." Mr. Garrow turned and wrote the words: allele, genotype, phenotype, dominant trait and recessive trait on the chalkboard.   Pens and pencils scribbled quickly. A few actually took quick photos with their phones of the chalkboard then went back to texting. The bell rang and everyone grabbed backpacks and crammed phones in pockets and purses. "Tomorrow I want examples of what external factors may affect your genes." Mr. Garrow grabbed his eraser and went to work erasing everything he'd written during class. Shoving my notebook in my backpack, I looked up and saw her, the girl from the parking lot. She was staring at me from the hallway. As soon as I noticed her she disappeared into the crowded hallway. I ran from my desk and stood in the doorway, blocking anyone from coming in as I searched for her. I didn't see her, but again I could smell Jace. I scratched my head in confusion, glancing up and down the hall. I went back to my desk and grabbed my backpack and noticed a drop of blood on my desk. I reached out tentatively to touch it. "Mr. Cole?" I whipped around. Mr. Garrow stood behind me, his brow quirked questioningly. "Don't you have to get to your next class." I looked back, but didn't see any blood. "uhhhh." I nodded in confusion. "....I mean yes." I slung my backpack over my shoulder and rushed out of the room, looking back over my shoulder. Mr. Garrow stood at my desk, looking down, running a finger across my desktop. The scary thing was watching him bring that finger to his lips and I could see a trace of red. I absently reached up to my neck but felt nothing. History class was next and I plopped down next to Jace. "I'm having a weird day." I looked over but Jace had his phone out, texting. I could tell he had just come from athletics. His hair was still damp from a shower and I could smell the Axe shampoo that he used. I could smell his deodorant. I could smell him. "Huh?" Jace looked up and realized I was there. "Trys?" He was looking at me like he didn't recognize me. "I said, I'm having a weird day. This chick, this morning, out in the parking lot, she came up and kissed me. Like out of the blue. never seen her before, in my life, and the next thing I know, she's got her tongue down my throat. And I think she bit me." I stretched my head revealing my neck to him. "And then I saw her again in the hallway right after biology." I leaned over and whispered conspiratorially. "And..." I looked to my left and then right. "I think Mr. Garrow is a vampire." I was only half joking, but Jace looked at me like I was preaching the gospel from the pulpit. Jace traced a finger along my neck, in the exact spot where I thought she had bitten me. The sensation sent shivers racing through me.  He shook his head and shrugged. "I don't see anything." Jace pulled his hand back slowly. "Yeah, well. There was blood there this morning." I rubbed at the bite, absently. It kinda itched but maybe I was still feeling Jace's touch. "Are you sure you didn't like dream it?" Jace looked at me. He knew I had a tendency to fall asleep during class.
"I didn't dream it! It was like right after you left the car this morning. I got out of the car like right after you and...and there she was. I tried to go around her and she grabbed my hand and the next thing I know, it was like Wrestlemania in my mouth. One! Two! Three! and then she was gone. Like the wind. Kinda freaked me out. Then at the end of biology, she was in the hallway outside the classroom staring at me. I tried to catch her, but she was gone again." I shook my head. "I'm not crazy." Jace was looking at me like I was crazy. "Okay. Okay. You're not crazy. But let's just look at this logically." You have to understand. When Jace says, we have to look at things logically, you know there's something wrong. "First, when's the last time someone came up and kissed you. And you're mom doesn't count." Jace grinned. And if it wasn't for that goofy-assed grin, I probably would have slugged him. "Ha ha." I glared at him. "Second. We were up awfully late last night. You know, with me kicking your ass so bad at World of Warcraft. What's more likely. Some girl, complete stranger, I might add, comes up to you, and even more importantly, not me, and kisses you." I started to respond but he didn't allow me. "Or....Or....maybe, when you were in your economics this morning, the desktop was ever so inviting, ever so sleep-inducing, you know, along with the drone of Ms. Apple, that you might have fallen asleep and dreamed a little dream?" Jace liked being melodramatic at my expense, throwing in a few hand gestures as he nodded his head to his explanation. I could only glare. It made sense. I guess. I could have dreamed it. I did have that tendency. I reached up and felt my neck. I felt nothing. Nothing that proved I had been bitten by this strange girl. And a dream would certainly explain why the only things I could smell was Jace. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks and said a little prayer of gratitude as the bell rang. I sank low in my seat, casting glances over at Jace as he pulled his history book from his backpack. He glanced over at me once, his blue eyes sparkling mischievously.
#
POV: Jace
I think Mr. Garrow is a vampire.
Okay. Let's just get one thing straight, once and for all. Vampires are people too. No no, laugh about it all you want, but it's true. Sure, you've seen the movies, read the books, worn the wax teeth at Halloween, it's all such wonderful make-believe. Till you wake up and it's happening to you. And it isn't exactly the way you think. Oh yeah sure, there is that damned bloodlust. Sometimes it's all I can do not to drag someone into a closet and eat. But vampires have come out of the dark ages and into the 21st century like everyone else. Science has made great strides in remedying the bloodlust. As the pundits say "there's a pill for that."
Okay, and I'll be the first to admit that there are the proverbial bad seeds out there. But that can be said for everyone. And history has shown that we've had our fair share of issues. The black plague, not completely our fault. Just a few vampires took it upon themselves to take advantage of the situation. And you can't blame us for the two wars. Not a single vampire was known to fight on either side of the battles. And okay, yes, the Jamestown colony, might....might be laid at our feet....but all of that ....ancient history. I mean, I wasn't even born then. I'm newborn, so to speak. I wasn't turned by some romantic pale fanged creature of the night. Nope. Born and raised and then along with puberty and body odor and zits, I get a small case of vampirism. It's genetic, as lady gaga would sing. Baby, I was born this way. So before you start getting any ideas, I just wanted to set the record straight.
I looked over at Trys. He kept rubbing at his neck. I had told him nothing was there, but the truth; I could see the mark. Not teeth marks. That was cliche and so middle ages. But a vampire had tried to mark him.
Yeah, so okay, I had lied to Trys. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last. We've known each other since we were three. And contrary to popular belief, best friends lie to each other all the time. Sure the truth comes out, eventually, then you fight, make up and everything is right as rain. That's what best friends do. White lies are a part of the deal. No, those jeans don't make you look fat. No, you can barely see that zit. No, I don't see any vampire ...
What pisses me off though. I already marked Trys as mine. And here comes this bitch, like right behind me who has the audacity to try and mark him again. That shit don't fly. That explains why she came back. And she'll be back again. She didn't know he was marked.
