The way Jimmy dies in Limited Life is just so, devastating to me. Not only did the people around him try sacrificing themselves to break his curse, but that fact that it didn’t work.

They’ve all began to notice; the way Jimmy always dies first, the way the server soon descends into chaos afterward. It’s his call, the canary lays to rest and the others will soon follow. And even in a world where they aren’t the ultimate dictators of who lives and dies this season, the Watchers wished for his death and the Universe allowed it.

Joel, of course, is the first to fall to insanity. He’s teetered the line of green and yellow for most of this season; always just getting above 16 hours to get to green and then immediately falling from grace- like a God, casted down from the heavens after only just being let back in.

He screams and searches and begs, but even as Grian gives himself up for the cause- for Joel’s life, he refuses. Doesn’t kill Grian; Joel may have been cruel and merciless in the other games, but here, this panic that is all-consuming and suffocating, he wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Not even Etho, his ex-soulmate, who watches and feels the buzzing of the chat as Joel rampages, looking for any time he can get. Etho, who stares at the long list of kills Joel gathers and then glances at the SmallishBeans ran out of time. and can’t help but think it fitting that Joel went out screaming and fighting.

Etho glancing around him, knowing any one of his ‘teammates’ — or his little, pretend family — could be next. It’s not going to take long for each one of them to start dropping like flies, and the Bad Boys only proved one thing; it won’t be pretty when they do.

really funny thing is when you're mentally imbalanced from isolation and then you get to start deciding what kind of imbalance you'd rather have. do you wanna be extra aggro with people just in case they know exactly what they're doing when they step on your toes? or do you want to do everything to preserve the few connections you have, even if it means they walk all over you? this is not an exhaustive list btw. another option is just shutting the fuck up also and isolating yourself further.
