(Drawing Askblog Once-ler Fandom Characters Part.3 REDO) I decided I really wanted to redraw my genderbent Teenage One for my askblog characters series. :3

One of the main reasons I redrew her was because I didn't really feel like I did her justice with my first drawing (I did kind of rush it at 1am honestly :<). Another reason was I drew her before actually knowing literally anything about Teen One. Like anything! I hadn't even found the Thornville AU blogs yet, I'm so silly :'). Soooo here she is and oh my god I love this drawing, I'm sooo much happier with this one aaaaaahh ;o; It took me forever but I'm so happy with everything about it and she's looking so pretty :'3 (Silly side note, as I was drawing this my friend who's not even a Onceling was like "she's hot, I'd do her" xD)

I think a big part of the reason this drawing is so much better than the first one was because it came from a place of affection not just for the Once-ler fandom but also for Teen One as a character. I had discovered his old blog and loved reading through his posts. He seemed mostly just like a normal teenager, even like one of my friends, and I loved his friendships with Bitter and Swag and teenage swoncest AAAH xD. He wasn't One-ler (iykyk) AT ALL it seemed, and he still had his heart and humanity, which I had strongly suspected before but it was nice to see that was true. That Teen One wasn't a scary character, just a young guy. (I think there's a deoncelerized version of his character who might be more One-ler-like but Idk at all honestly). I’m unsure of his ending in the AU so he might become scary but it’s still interesting to see him before that happened. When he was just a young boy with his humanity and a heart, making friends and living a mostly normal life! Honestly I’m okay not knowing his future and just appreciating what’s actually canon/actually happened in the Thronville AU when it was still going. (I have headcanons about his ending but I’ll keep those to myself since these aren’t my characters!)

Knowing more about him and loving his blog, I felt I had to redo my drawing of fem teen One, so here she is!! I drew her on a school campus at sunset :3 I intentionally made the school look like it could be Thronville High School or a college because even though it didn't happen in the Thronville AU I was like "aww what if all the OCs went to college together as well? What if Swag and One shared a dorm room? What if them going to college alters the timeline enough that One gets a normal happy future?" and I got attached to this idea so I decided to incorporate it into the drawing :'3

(Also Thronville AU Swoncest is so adorable, but for some reason when I see them genderbent and they're cute lesbians I just *CRIES HAPPY TEARS, MELTS* ;O; I seriously might have to make some lesbian Swoncest art)

Guys yall are gonna get so mad at me but i made an oc for The Lorax.

Yes. That Lorax.

She's only referred to as the Truffula Fairy to keep in line with the naming conventions in Dr. Seuss books. While the Lorax serves as a spiritual guide its the nymphs that have the real power. Now, her lore involves extensive rewrites of the movie because I don't like it that much and I felt it could've been better if it had kept the dark tone of the original story. Also be warned the Onceler does a lot of bad things because he is a villain, not an Uwu baby soft boi.

Truffula Fairy was a young nymph tending to the forest when the onceler arrives. She didnt know what to make of him at first. But he didn't seem like a threat. As much as she adored the animals it was nice to talk to someone her age for once. He completely won her over by offering her marshmallows.

The Onceler and Truffula quickly became friends. He would teach her about human life while she taught him about the truffula trees. To cut one down they have to grow another. The Lorax was skeptical about their relationship but Truffula Fairy begged him to let Onceler stay. She told him as long as he respected the balance he wasnt hurting anyone. When the Onceler's family came to visit she was very friendly to them but they were put off by this strange young woman. They called her a hippie.

While Onceler followed the rules at first, eventually he grew tired of having to wait for the trees to grow back. In the time between building his enterprise, their friendship blossomed a romance. Everything was going great. Onceler told his girlfriend she needed to fit in if she was to handle their nee lifestyle. He started dressing her in fancy outfits, got her to straighten her hair, and hired her as his secretary which alienated her from her duties. But not wanting to lose their relationship she complied. She still visited her animal friends from time to time, but her trips became rare due to the increased workload.

Things started going downhill when Onceler became more and more arrogant. He would cut trees left and right, regardless of how it hurt the animals. His workers slaved away long hours with more health issues than wages. He began making investments for artificial neighborhoods called Thneedvilles. Anything to make money and keep his parents happy. Truffula felt the affects of these changes. She was losing the ability to fly. She was barely able to speak to animals. Further strife followed when the company started to lose stocks due to lack of interest of Thneed. Her boyfriend took up drinking to cope. He didn't spend time with her anymore. All she had was parties and his awful family.

One fateful night, Truffula Fairy mustered enough courage to confront the Onceler. She gave him an ultimatum: either he stops the production and gets help or she leaves. In a drunken stupor The Onceler tries to persuade Truffula to sleep with him but she refuses. Enraged he grabs her by the arm to try to force her back into the house, but before he could do anything else to her The Lorax intervenes. He warns The Onceler that he has gone too far and just as he says that, they all see the last tree cut. Not wanting to accept his own faults, The Onceler blames Truffula for not warning him in time and boots her out. Heartbroken, Truffula leaves and takes the animals away to a safer place.

In the years that followed Truffula Fairy began to resne thumans for destroying her homeland. She had even cursed the Onceler's family to experience permanent bed bugs. She began to build an army of ferocious animals to take back their home by any means necessary. Worried about the potential war, the Lorax goes to the city and meets Ted and Audrey. He helps them get the seeds back from O'Hare but just as theyre leaving the city, Truffula's army arrives and begins to attack. In the chaos the wall breams down down revealing ti everyone about the state of the world. The Onceler steps out of his house for the first time in fifty years and reveals to Truffula that he never stopped thinking about her. Seeing the lengths Ted and his friends would go protect the seeds, she has a change of heart and drops her revenge. They reconcile, she turns O'Hare back into the wimpy nerd he once was and helps Ted replant the seed by using the last of her bad magic to dispel the smog allowing real sunlight to shine through. With her magic fully restored she decides stay and teach the humans about the trees.

Essentially Truffula and Onceler relationship is a darker reflection of Ted and Audrey's. Ted genuinely saw the importance and trees not just to get a girlfriend, but Onceler couldn't understand why the trees where so importsnt to Truffula Fairy until it was too late. Audrey genuinely likes ted quirks and all, while Onceler tried to force Truffula into being a perfect trophy wife.

If you've been following me or reading through my blog, you might notice I've posted recently about Pastra. More specifically the Jeff The Killer rewrite they did. Now watching that got me to watch a stream they did a few months back on quinnamon's channel with some other people where they talked about the Jeff the killer fandom, and I left a comment on that video regarding an observation I've had stuck in my head for a while now about internet media in general that I feel the need to also voice here because I find it so fascinating.

With that context out of the way, here's my copy pasted (but slightly cleaned up) analysis of human mythology and memetic evolution of stories and canons as it pertains to the internet, creepypasta OCs, popular AU fanfiction, Star Wars, and The Bible:

The Jeff The Killer OC rabbithole reminds me of the Undertale AU community. The Undertale community in general has people convincing themselves that fan additions are canon, but the OC fanfic network of OCs being made to interact with other OCs is the same thing basically, except with the multiverse involved. Which, I'm told, was also the main basis of the Onceler fandom beyond the initial selfcest pairing.

But as I mentioned it also reminds me of the Undertale fandom in general and over there, there are arguments about what is fanon and what is canon to this day. Canon is a term we invented because of similar arguments regarding religion, more specifically christianity. The modern depiction of both hell and Lucifer are based on fanfiction, that being Dante's Inferno and Paradise Lost. Which goes to show that religion and mythology is just a big web of fanfiction that becomes considered canon with time and popularity. Its all a game of telephone but with people intentionally changing stuff to add OCs or headcanons. As another commenter pointed out, this is also the entire basis of Arthurian Legend. And I've also seen people make comparisons between fandom and religion plenty of times, notably, someone once said that people argue over star wars canon down to the smallest details as special editions or original edition, and they treat it the same way different denominations of Christianity treat the different versions of the Bible that exist. And I can see exactly what they mean by that and they have a point

The thing is though, is that the internet allows these things, like Creepypasta OCs, and AU versions of characters, to happen much faster and without being nearly as limited by geographical concerns. It's like a sped up, but less mainstream, version of that phenomenon. People say comics are the modern american mythology or whatever, and its kinda true, but this is how it really works, because this is entirely in the hands of the people and there is no true canon.

In conclusion, Jeffrey Woods is Sans Undertale who is also Jesus Christ, none of which actually have those last names by the way. Thanks for reading.

Re: your tags on the onceler/SZ thing. I wasn’t there for the Onceler thing so I only gleaned what I could from the video. What did she get wrong?

its been a while since i saw her video (and since the peak days of the onceler fandom) but as i recall, her main thesis in the video was that the onceler fandom was mostly 13 year old girls projecting fantasies on a nonthreatening, decently attractive fictional man, and everyone mocked it because we as a society hate teenage girls

and like. society DOES hate teenage girls and their interests, and the fandom WAS started mostly by teenage girls, but i think SZ was only in the fandom for a little bit near the beginning because by the time i joined (the fandom started in March 2012, and i got into it in September of the same year), i was 17 and the youngest person i knew in it. and by that point, it had really stopped being about The Lorax movie and the Oncie/Greedler ship, but was about AU askblogs (mostly focused around a high school AU and a zombie apocalypse AU)

so like. im sure she was accurate describing her own experience, but its still annoying to me to see a creative project that I remember being mostly the writing and art by 20- something trans men about their own ocs be described as little girls exploring their sexualities
