As a long time member of the furry, danganronpa, and BNHA fandom im not the type of person who likes to generalize entire fandoms based off of experiences i hear about or have with other people in said fandoms. but the MCSM fandom is such a filthy stain on the internet and so many people in the community have gotten WAY out of hand. the constant racism and whitewashing of characters. people publicly talking about NSFW topics in numerous discord servers that have children in them, sometimes with people under 13 years old. the ridiculous amount of drama surrounding character headcanons among other things. its RIDICULOUS

im a black guy. i can care less about the "issue of blackwashing", it does not exist and never has existed. i care a LOT about the whitewashing in this community. there are multiple jesse skins for a reason, to represent a ton of different peoples races! red suspenders jesse is literally WHITE! if you want to draw white jesse draw HIM! why are people whitewashing the other jesse skins? why are people whitewashing characters like radar, stella, olivia, etc?? MCSM as a game has blessed its community with a wide range of characters of different ethnicities and races (even if not directly stated) and none of them are stereotyped, theyre all incredibly well written and have great characterizations but unappreciative morons are choosing to whitewash the shit out of them :/. the characters are so easy to colorpick. theyre minecraft characters. literally pixels. coloring people of different skin colors is NOT a difficult thing. have some common sense and use references properly.

im an adult who likes adult things. as an adult i understand boundaries and that talking to minors about sexual headcanons is NOT a good thing! woah! some of you dont understand how important it is to tag certain shit on different sites correctly or how to keep conversations about NSFW topics away from people who are WAY younger than you. vague jokes are one thing but time after time ive either heard or seen myself that grown ass people are describing explicitly sexual things with minors. gross much???? and PUBLICLY of all things. its one thing to have your own friend group or whatever, its fine to discuss things in private so long as its with someone in your fucking age range but JESUS CHRIST! MCSM discord servers have become BREEDING GROUNDS for these kinds of adult NSFW discussions with minors and it only creates a domino effect where they too start sharing that in OTHER MCSM servers with OTHER minors. ITS GROSS!!

and my god the DRAMA over characters its insane. its completely fine to dislike certain headcanons and to have certain opinions on them. you can publicly voice your opinions in a RESPECTFUL manner. it really is not hard.?? at all. there are a ton of headcanons i hate personally, i rant about them in private and if i ever feel like voicing about them in public ill say it in a respectful manner. if someone dislikes a headcanon you like it is not a personal attack on your entire being. relax dude. i will always agree with the statement that fiction affects reality but my god they are just FICTIONAL CHARACTERS that you do not know personally and you do NOT need to go on a rampage and witch-hunt people because people say things like "i think xyz character has a different body type!" or "i think xyz character is a certain sexuality!". this especially applies to age headcanons. ages are NOT CANON, sure there are characters that appear to be older than others but ages are always up for speculation. not everyone is going to agree with your "minor coded" headcanons, dont attack and throw proshipper/pedo accusations on people who dont? id go into the infantilization of the characters who get this kinda treatment but different problem different day. point is, headcanons are headcanons and sending swarms of people after people who disagree with them is DUMB and STUPID and NOT NICE! stop doing that

in general this fandom harbors horrible mindsets and even more horrible people who i will not name and frankly its getting very frustrating seeing how the people in this fandom treat each other. have some respect for others and also yourselves. fix up your behaviors, dont make your bad attitudes everyones problem, and spend some time off the internet. have a good day yall

Especially when paired with him going after people online, just good synergy with awesome style! - Fuuta’s scared face after he realizes what he did. I care so much about This is How To Be In Love With You- it's visuals are brilliant in the ways it conveys its themes and narrative. but this is the post where i talk about the process of designing the cover. i had a lot of fun with this one (i mean, i ALWAYS do, but this one had the most ideas generated)

so let's talk about THUMBNAILS!

like i said: there were a lot! these were the notes i was given:

"moon imagery important

monster girl is a chimera incorporating wolf / stag / owl parts, big monster jaws and sharp teeth are important but otherwise the actual form she takes is open to exploration. she is Large, regardless

it's not an outright vore book but there's definitely a fairy tale style threat of gobble you up

I can give you direction on the three witches she's hunting if you want or need it, but as usual I'm not expecting anything super figurative so it's probably not That important"

so my big takeaways are: moon, obviously. A Monster, fairy tale vibe, and the three witches. already we're cooking with iconography, and the style so far with the covers has been largely silhouette. so obviously we have to do something with a big prominent moon, and obviously the title is going to go there. like that's a no brainer. if you need to have a big prominent circle, you put the title there.

i presented the first six to lee and he liked 2, 5, and 6 the most. we moved forward with 6 because the others were ultimately a little Too storybook, and it is after all a book about turning into a monster and chasing down some women you've been hanging out with, for the purpose of fucking them. taking his feedback about making the monster less specified and more oppressive, we ended up with the 8th thumbnail, which ended up being the final!

and then we went through some color variations. i work pretty much Exclusively with gradient maps these days, which make it really easy to iterate on a palette with very little additional work. lee chose the bottom left, so that's what i moved forward with!

FONTS

we tend to go through a lot when picking these. my first pass was based on the fantasy fairy tale vibe i was still operating under, which we ultimately dismissed. lee wanted something Like the first, simple, font, so i tried a bit more. the crit there was that they ended up looking too much like a bestseller, when what we wanted was something a little less top shelf and more pulpy. we ended up using the top right option, which coincidentally is the font i use for the cover of You're A Mage on Monsterfuck Mountain. apparently that font is just for monsterfuckers

and that's more or less it! there wasn't a whole lot of process between thumbnails and thumbs, just plan and execution. i think my favorite part of the cover is the little witches holding hands and running away. they charm me.

anyway you should go read the book! it's very good. it has big monster tongue stuff AND tail stuff. truly a monsterfucker's paradise

My Rio Vidal theory based on that spoiler

I think it may be more complicated than that. Funko spoiler-y thoughts under the cut.

Right okay so thanks to Funko we know Rio is "Death". Yes, the tarot card is also a big clue, and there are lots of little nods to it like the lyrics of the Witches Road i.e. Death's hand in mine

My issue is that Rio Vidal—at least from what we've seen so far—is absolutely The Green Witch. She is serving absolute Gaea energy: I'm talking nature in all its primordial glory, the domains of war and hunting, earth and sky, blood and fang, decay and entropy, life and renewal.

Rio's name has associations to The River of Life. She has the ability to heal. Her outfit is that of a warrior witch, full of with nature imagery. And we do see her in a lot of green, especially in scenes of Rio in the past.

So how the hell is she Death? That's not the same, in fact it's quite the opposite of life. Is it all just a disguise, an elaborate con? If so why go so hard on The Green Witch angle? Why not just be a generic goth-y witch?

My current theory is that Rio isn't simply Death, I think she's host to Death.

Now I know Jac Schaeffer doesn't really base her storytelling on Marvel comic storylines but it's possible she or the writers took inspiration from the time Marvel's Lady Death took up residence in the body of a character by the name of Marlo Chandler. While they remained two separate entities, they were bonded to each other and Death could emerge when she wanted (or when she got mad).

Marlo ultimately took up the mantle of Death because Death was tired of her job, which is... something that can happen I guess.

I figure, what better host to hide or contain Death than The River of Life and the most powerful green witch of all?

Why and how did it happen? Who knows! It's possible Agatha decided to fuck around with Death herself with dark magic in order to bring her kid back, with Rio stepping in because you shouldn't mess with the natural order of things. It's possible Death just needed a place to hide and chill for a minute.

I honestly really want to talk about it because what happened/how It happened wasn't ok at all, I was honestly treated really unfairly and terribly by her + 2 other (now ex) friends but to be 100% honest I don't think I can currently speak on it, at least not here. I also don't wanna start a bunch of drama but idk some of the stuff is just :( I have proof for 80% of the things I'd need proof for so I'm covered on that end, there's some really fucking weird/questionable stuff going on behind the scenes that I never got any clarity on so I'm weary to throw things out there only having my point of view- (though she wouldn't let me talk to her or clear things up so I guess If I do speak on them its her fault for not talking to me about it I guess?) Succubus Mahiru AU, inspired by @yarrayora 's bc i love it and would love to hear theirs. plz. I wanna hear about it so bad.

Kuro Has Too Many Exes AU, where the usual "Mahiru drags home a human!kuro" and gets into a situationship that turns into a relationship with him and he meets all of kuro's exes (the other servamps, gear, germaine) and helps him deal with all of that.

The Game (i havent figured out a cool name for this au yet) AU where there is this huge reality tv show that doubles as a romance/job hunting thing where people or companies will hunt someone of their choosing for either romance or to recruit. The people chasing are hunters and the people running are prey and the goal of the prey is to run around the country to avoid getting caught by the hunters for as long as they can for a guarantied better life and a heafty cash prize. The goal of the hunters is to try and capture their desired prey and if they succeed, they date or recruit them. Mahiru finds himself nominated by japan internet to be prey and he does it.

"Haunted House" Au where the Servamps arent vampires but still immortal and they get sentient houses out of it. I love this one.

Mahiru And The Witch's Broom Au, based off the movie Mary and the Witches Flower. An Au where Mahiru breaks his broom so he buys another that turns out to be a magic broom that broomnaps him into the magical world hidden from non-magic humans. He had picked up a normal "cat" the same day and the cat, Kuro, got broomnapped with him. Mahiru becomes a witch and its chaos, I love it.

There's also my Welcome To Demon School, Iruma-Kun au for Servamp. Akira made a deal with a demon, Tooru, when Mahiru was born in order to help take care of him and give him a family, Tooru gets attached to Akira and they both end up concidering themselves siblings and so obviously he loves his sister very much as well as his adorable nephew Mahiru. Akira dies and their both heartbroken, Tooru doesnt let go of the Shirota Visage and stays in the human world (illegally) to care for Mahiru. Shit happens and Mahiru gets sucked into the demon world and he isnt able to go back. There starts his new school life!

MY CORALINE AU, OF COURSE!!!!!

Mine and @pinkestlittlebutterfly 's Candy House au, which is a more mafia setting post-Tsubaki defeating that has all the demons being human apart from their servamps and each respective demon-servamp has History with each other. Sloth, named Rowan here, ends up falling in love with Mahiru in an attempt to steal away the thing Kuro loves the most. No, they are not related here but everything is great and Fibi's ideas are *mwah* CHEF'S KISS.

We also made a Fae Au together that i adore just as much.

My self-indulgent Sloth Pair move-out au where they get a really nice but trashed house they renovate and its very lovey dovey and domestic and a bit angsty bc Mahiru's never really been anywhere but Tooru's apartment and also Touma makes Tooru miss Mahiru's move-out day when they finally fix their house up. Also they somehow swindle C3 into paying their bills for saving japan.

The Bakery Au where Mahiru opens his own small bakery/resturaunt and takes in Kuro and attracts very annoying people because of it. They all love his cooking. Kuro ends up learning and helping Mahi along with Sakuya. Tho I admit that this au is a little half-baked..... ;3

The Au where Mahiru takes Sakuya up on his request to start a band together and their love gets stronger and stronger with each song and mishap they make and get into.

Love Is Stored In The Cat AU, where Kuro gets moved into the apartment next to Mahiru by a worried Lily, finds a random cat in his apartment one day that got into his house through the faulty balcony door, ends up meeting mahiru because thats his cat and they start talking and its really cute. This is a Kuro healing au.

That Au where C3 buys a place to make all of the Pairs + Team M live in together. Its a very big, nice, high tech house with more than enough space for all of them and their individual preferences but we all know thats not going to stop any chaos and sibling drama. It has a huge, high tech kitchen that I swear Mahiru is in love with. Hed marry it, theres so much space. Also there are a lot of other rooms for activities! Team M has a room dedicated to their game nights.

My IB au, following the game, Mahiru goes on a school field trip to a new museum and gets sucked in to the world of Germaine's paintings. In this au, Germaine immortalizes the servamps through art.

And there's of course the AU where Germaine gets a body of his very own and due to very tough and unfortunate circumstances, Mahiru makes a contract with him! Kuro is not happy.

Then there's the Merfolk Au i have where all the Eves are merfolk instead of the other way around.

Hey, freaks (affectionate), it's only 2 weeks to Halloween and I thought I'd rustle up a collection of Halloween movies you wouldn't normally consider in your lineup (yes, I consider all of these to be Halloween movies) and I highly recommend them. Again, as always, do NOT interact with this post or talk to/follow me if you are under 18.

The Halloween Tree (1993) - my absolute favorite movie fully serious. It's an animated movie about a group of kids meeting on Halloween night to go trick-or-treating but one of them is missing. They get caught up in a magical adventure through time and space learning about different cultures and their influence on modern Halloween while they look for their friend with the help of an ancient sorcerer whose intentions are not entirely clear. Based on a Ray Bradbury book of the same name (I think the movie is 1000x better though).

Van Helsing (2004) - the Hugh Jackman horror action masterpiece. If you don't know anything about it, it's about an alternate version of the character Van Helsing who works for the Vatican hunting monsters from classic Gothic literature. He is called on a mission to kill Dracula which has mysterious significance to his own past that he cannot remember. It's campy, it's fun, and it has an absolutely killer soundtrack. Lots of great practical effects and the CGI is stylized so it's aged pretty well in the 20 years since its release.

The Crow (1994) - now is an especially good time to watch this incredible movie because honestly fuck that remake and everyone who thought it would be a good idea. If you don't know this one, it's a revenge story about a musician who was murdered with his fiancee the night before their wedding by a gang of thugs. He is resurrected a year later with superhuman abilities, giving him the opportunity to kill everyone involved with the murder. It's at its core a beautiful story about love and protecting the innocent and it gets so much deeper than a simple "eye for an eye" type plot. It's based on a comic but it isn't a direct adaptation. (Side note: the cat does NOT die or get hurt!)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) - the movie that came before the tv show and is just as good. Basic story is a high school cheerleader finds out she is the chosen one destined to hunt vampires and other evils and she is not about it at first. Think Clueless meets The Lost Boys. It's funny, it's got good drama, the villain is compelling - it's a lot of fun.

Urban Legend (1998) - an underrated slasher using common urban legends to murder a bunch of college kids. It's every bit as good as Scream in similar ways but it was overshadowed by more popular films at the time. It has really good twists and the mystery of who the killer is makes it a really engaging watch. (Side note: the dog DOES die but you can easily avoid seeing it)

House on Haunted Hill (1999) - a remake that is better than the original imo. A wealthy roller coaster designer invites a group of seemingly unrelated people to a party in a former insane asylum for an overnight challenge: whoever can stay the whole night in the supposedly haunted building wins a large sum of cash. The problem is that the building is extremely haunted and they are all in danger. They are also all linked to the building in some way and the ghosts are very angry with them in particular.

Butterfly Kisses (2015) - one of the best found footage movies I've ever seen no exaggeration. It's about an amateur filmmaker who inexplicably discovered an unfinished project of some missing film students in his house. The students were researching a local urban legend of a supernatural being called Peeping Tom who, if you manage to see him, will get closer to you each time you blink until he is able to touch you and then he kills you. It's extremely well done and manages to do what The Blair Witch Project did without having any more similarities than the film students getting into something bigger than they thought.

ParaNorman (2012) - brilliant stop motion animation telling the story of a bullied kid with the ability to talk to the dead as he is needed to break a curse dating back to the witch hunts. It's a little goofy in parts but it's really a heartbreaking tragedy in the meat of it and as a former bullied kid it really hit home for me in a way most movies don't. Definitely watch in a good headspace.

Rec (2007) - found footage following a local news crew recording a fluff segment that turns into a fast paced fight for survival against a rage virus type infection spreading through an apartment building. It's got a basic zombie survival setup but it is so well done and so scary it really stands apart from most of its peers (and if you know me you know I am SO sick of zombie movies I could puke. This is an exception). Lots of jarring violence and overwhelming panic it's a wild ride the instant it gets going.

The Frighteners (1996) - kind of a forgotten gem of a supernatural murder mystery. A disgraced psychic investigator who everyone thinks is a fraud but he can actually see ghosts finds himself caught up in a series of unexplained deaths that seem to be caused by the Grim Reaper. I can't really say much more about it without spoilers but it's really really good and has some excellent twists.

Cry_Wolf (2005) - a meta slasher that takes itself a little more seriously. It uses the concept of a Mafia/Werewolf lying game and applies it to a prep school whodunnit. A foreign transfer student with a history of troublemaking falls in with a group of popular kids at his new school and they decide to prank their fellow students by creating a fake serial killer in a chain email just to scare everyone. They end up getting scared themselves when the killer they imagined seems to have come to life and is targeting them. I was OBSESSED with this movie as a teenager and it still is a decent watch now.

I keep wanting to make a post waxing poetic on the absolute best show that has ever existed but I just -

I don't know if I can do it justice.

But let me just tell you a little about the absolute triumph that is Expedition Bigfoot.

My husband's glowing review: "I think I believed in Bigfoot more before we started watching this."

It has everything:

The scientist who made some impressive discovery once and I guess now needs a paycheck, who brings the "legitimacy" to the quest. Finally seeing a bit of her soul leaving her eyes that she is still doing this.

The ex-army rugged solo (+cameraman who never actually captures the glimpses of super exciting things they stumble upon) survivalist explorer who will use any excuse to demonstrate his wilderness skills and know-how. He carries camo backpack with a bigfoot toy tucked in the straps on the back.

The true-believer(s) (this role served by a few faces over the (inexplicable) 5 season run who is a repository of information on any and every bigfoot legend and conspiracy theory to ever float around even the most obscure corners of the Internet.

And the leader. Ahh the leader. An actor (like, even more than the others) who is shown coordinating the wilderness adventures from the security of nearby office setups. Any time he has occasion to step in the woods, acts like he has never before been forced to endure nature.

This show has EVERYTHING.

We stumbled upon it channel surfing in a hotel 2 years ago. We thought it was a UFO show at first because true-believer was going on about glowing orbs luring them off a ridge to their deaths.

Upon realizing this was somehow a bigfoot hunting show, we were hooked. Fucking WHAT?

Bigfoot is an animal who behaves like animals and is just super rare and remote; bigfoot is a malicious spirit who can shapeshift and wants to lure you to your death; bigfoot is a trickster who gives you migraines and can magically make your cameras stop working at the perfect moment to ruin your quest for "evidence" - ANYTHING is possible.

Remote wilderness couldn't possibly be home to any other large predator animals, right up until the occasional moment they actually stumble on bears and have to skedaddle out of the way REAL quick.

Other humans could not possibly have been in the exploration areas before you and been the source of any nature manipulations.

TREE STRUCTURES.

I spent several summers working at a wooded summer camp; MiniPoe's elementary school has a little adjacent forest space. Leave children and teens unoccupied in the woods for long enough and they will collect and stack and prop sticks in the most Blair Witch looking shit you've ever seen.

Incidentally, these things are ALSO bigfoot road signs.

Vocalizations; behaviors and diet; nesting sites; kill sites; migration maps - we have EVERYTHING about bigfoot except the ability to find bigfoot. We're currently watching the recently aired season 5 - its expedition was planned based, apparently, upon footage caught on a trail cam left behind in a previous search zone/earlier season that is so clearly a couple hikers passing by it is HILARIOUS.

At some point awaiting season 4 we made a bingo board for watching because it's all just that repetitive and predictable, just in a new wilderness.

It's truly such a delight. Get a friend; pop the popcorn. Embrace the silliness and commend the commitment to the bit because it is COMMITTED. Peruse the subreddit occupied solely by believers who, MrPoe reports this season, are finally skeptical - not that bigfoot exists, mind you, but that the team of the show have any goddamn clue what they're doing or have any hope of finding it.

you totally don’t have to respond to this i know you don’t like posting about fandom discourse but i have a rant- a lot of “vanilla” or palatably kinky readers (kinks that don’t outwardly make someone who isn’t hardcore kinky uncomfortable) have the mindset of “i have an understanding of this character and want content that fits this idea of the character i have in my head and i can’t comprehend why people would characterize a fictional character in such a taboo/dark way or a way that’s outside of my realm of acceptable” so they complain in this echo chamber of people who validate what they’re feeling about not wanting dark content and everyone is entitled to an opinion but all it takes is one interaction to start a witch hunt for a specific creator and [un]intentionally create a ton of hate towards accounts and people who are just doing their thing in their corner of the internet and the “vanilla” or palatably kinky readers who choose to attack those creators of darker stuff get so up their own asses about these works getting traction and pushed when they’re the reason for all the engagement because algorithms do not differentiate positive or negative engagement that’s why blocking tags and blocking accounts and not engaging is recommended instead of hate anons and comments and mass reporting, not just that but the inconsideration of the people who don’t consume dark content who vent about it being out there and not putting warnings for the content they’re talking about or even posting screenshots with no warning is so disgusting, i’ve never read a darker work of anything and not been met with tags or warnings. for people to say this content is ooc, i can accept and have agreed with some posts about a characters backstory being ignored or changed to support dark content but it gets bad when people demonize others for taking a darker route with how they view a character because it’s usually this character who has a history of experiencing some type of abuse or some large trauma that took place at a point in their life which is why they chose to do what they do or it’s why they are the way they are but it’s rarely delved into how they coped or how they handled the situation leaving it up to consumers interpretation so it’s immersive for everyone and that’s where these issues arise in the blending of people in a fandom space when “vanilla” or palatably kinky people look at a character with a trauma and see people say they want that character to do something darker to them and it makes them uncomfortable because they can’t comprehend someone having that response to any trauma because they assume everyone responds the same way they do so they seek out emotional validation to feel seen for being made uncomfortable by something they interacted with instead of seeking to make themselves comfortable by blocking and ignoring these works, they seek out this validation even demonization of things outside of their realm of perception based off what they’ve experienced to make themselves feel like they’re right instead of aiming to make themselves comfortable and lastly, people saying dark content should move to ao3 solely is blatantly ignoring tumblr pre the adult content ban because most fic writers started on tumblr and got their following on tumblr and it’s the app/site that’s changed for the worse to appease this ultra purity culture sect of their site to get more ad revenue and its fucked the larger community of people who’ve been here since before the ban because we don’t really have the access to grow our platform or share our work anywhere else and still have the amount of community engagement we can get on tumblr which is why most authors share fics- to engage and be a part of a fandom for a thing they enjoy and in my opinion ao3 is very impersonal in the interactions you can have with people and i think that’s why some people want dark content creators in fandom spaces over there because they can feel distant from a creator on ao3 in a way they can’t on tumblr if that makes sense

Autumn anime 2023 is so STACKED, it's illigal!

Aside from the obviously amazing continuing shows, there's TOO MANY great new ones.

Based on first episodes, here's my top ranking (may be subject to change cuz Apothecary Diaries isn't out yet. And excluding SpyxFamily, dr. Stone and Tokyo Revengers which are all *chef's kiss*)

1. Kamonohashi Ron: Deranged Detective

you had me at Detective. and then you had me at Deranged. Also, I'm a big fan of Amano Akira's other works, Reborn and eldLIVE (Psycho-Pass not so much, but she only did the character art) Depressed adult who is too curious for his own good, what's not to love?

2. Undead Unluck

I saw the manga before and had been really anticipating the anime. They're such a fun duo and their personalities and abilities compliment one another really well. looks like there'll be a lot of cool unusual superpowers. Reminds me a lot of Blood Lad, just hoping this anime won't end with virtually nothing solved T~T;

3. Kingdom of Ruin

Bit on the over the top side with the amount of tragedy, but the worldbuilding seems very interesting. I'm a slut for witch hunting too. May end up severely traumatized if I continue, but we'll see how it goes.

4. My New Boss Is Goofy

My soul is healed, my crops are growing. Grown men doing stilly stuff is comfort food for the eyes. Looks a bit yaoi baiting, but can't complain if it's cute. Reminds me of Cool Douji Danshi.

5. Migi & Dali

I don't even know what's going on at this point, it's so surreal. Elder couple wants to adopt one child and genius twins thought 'we can work with that'. The silly love children of Johan Liebert and Sakamoto desu ga. (same author as Sakamoto too. it sure shows.)

6. Crash course on Naughtiness

Last season, I was confronted with the pet-peeve of feeble waifu syndrome (I finished My Happy Marriage, but I'm sorry, I could not stand that girl...) And this season around, I realized the formula that breaks the curse of feeble waifus: a batshit crazy counterpart. This man is just bullying her with kindness. plus points for another excelent job done by Sugita Tomokazu.

7. Frieren

As a big fan of DnD, I can't say no to such a DnD-based series. Plus the pressure of having to live such a long live as elves do is very interesting. It's a bit slow to my liking, but the characters are amusing and layered.

8. Yuzuki family's 4 sons

a young man who has to take care of his 3 little brothers after his parents died, give me some napkins Q-Q not a single person looks or acts their age (the youngest has better vocabulary than I do;;) but it's all fun and sweet and trying to find your way in an unusual family-hirarchy

9. I'm in love with the villainess

My eyes hurt from looking at this. But the over the top artstyle works quite well with how silly the story is. I too would like to say 'step on me, mommy' to my favorite villain. Just hope it won't become repetitive in its jokes.

10. Tearmoon Empire

Wow, will you look at that. Another reincarnated villainess. Luckily, this one has no memories of living in a different world or something. Just her future self's diary. Enjoying the concept where she's not suddenly a saintly good girl for a change.

11. Oujo to Banken

This dude is on THIN fucking ice. I commonly enjoy age gaps very much. but in no way what so ever, would I support a relationship between a teenager and the 10 year older guy who basically raised her. Him being her parent figure is where I draw the line. That said, I'm eating up the amount of over-protectiveness and yakuza-logics. It has the amount of spice I had hoped to find in Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting that wasn't there.

12. Ragna Crimson

I'm sorry. just...... you can't make me believe that the ditsy loli-girl is the best dragon killer in the world. stop. The maincharacter is quite interesting, though. I like how it's like... his actual own power that he has for his OP special snowflake thing. Borrowing tomorrow's energy for today.....that's the description of a burn out I read the other day;;; But you do you, boy. good luck dying very early in life.

- The vocals are amazing, those growls are so well done - You’re able to get Fuuta’s crime and motive pretty succinctly, only based on the visuals - But it still leaves a lot up to interpretation, like how he only attacked once in the final fight scene. It lead to some cool theories. - On that note, the game aspects are so cool!! Especially when paired with him going after people online, just good synergy with awesome style! - Fuuta’s scared face after he realizes what he did. The great contrast of other foes simply being knocked out then being met with blood splatter. - The tempo of the song changing with his mood is a really good touch as well. Make the song more chaotic which highlights his character traits well

I saw your previous ask about being poc and need to vent about some bs I saw on the dash today. Someone sent an ask to a writer I follow and mentioned the fact that most fan art/moodboard etc inspired by fics in this fandom depict reader as white, saying it’s not their fault it’s just a thing that happens here, and another writer took it upon themselves to interpret that comment as them attacking the writer and blaming them for all of the white washing that happens in this fandom(??) and said all the art being white washed isn’t an issue and then derailed the entire point being made. And whenever a poc tried to step in and be the voice of reason, and point out that it IS an issue, and that the original ask wasn’t attacking that writer, they would get blocked. And ofc they’re just being encouraged by their white writer friends, and instead of focusing on the original point, which is the fact that practically all the fan art in this fandom is white-washed, all these people are derailing entire point trying to say that ask was attacking someone and coming to that writers “defense”. It’s so fucking stupid and it just shows that you can literally VISUALLY SEE that most fanart/moodboard etc in this fandom feature WHITE PEOPLE and point it out but you’ll still get blocked and jumped on. It’s not the most egregious example of this kind of behavior I’ve seen on this site but they were so grossly misinterpreting what was being said, and NONE of their friends tried to step in and reason with them. It makes me wonder why I’m still here when I know if I were to say something I’d be treated the same way. This just doesn’t feel like a safe space at all.

A prime example of that ignorant unconditional support (again, remember we want to let our friends know when something can be improved or they’re in the wrong so it can be learned from and corrected, not encouraged) and unchecked privilege. 1. I have no idea when this occurred or who was involved, but based on what you said, whoever turned this into a witch hunt against POCs for being upset that writers can’t be a little more open with aesthetics should be ashamed of themselves.

2. This is actually a huge issue in the fandom and I’m glad you brought it up because let’s talk about it! I’m a writer, obviously, and somehow, I manage to not have a bunch of white girls (as I write for fem!reader most of the time) depicted in my aesthetics. Because it’s not that fucking hard to go into Pinterest and not look for white girls. My reader is black, I’ve stated this in my about me section, however I don’t go that into description so multiple races can see themselves in my work! I have no problem finding black!reader aesthetics, but I haven’t used them yet because I do want everyone to feel as though they can read my works, especially if it’s not a fic where I describe reader a lot (if I do describe reader then yeah the fic is getting black girl aesthetics)

3.) diversity is something that can be talked about and should be talked about without white people getting offended (feels like we’re in Big Brother lol). if a white person is taking offense, we might have a problem on our hands because why exactly are they offended about POCs pointing out that we see nothing but a white reader as these aesthetics? hmm…

4.) it’s not hard to make sure people feel included. Its a bit redundant to purposely try not to mention race descriptions (which has improved since I came into this fandom) only to intentionally depict reader as white in the damn aesthetic or mood boards. It’s really not, but what you state you witnessed is why I don’t go around talking to writers willy nilly. It’s why I don’t follow people right away because it’s so, so disappointing to see that they practice passive poc erasure and exclusion, and I understand that it may not be intentional but to get upset and turn it into an attack when it was a moment to educate??? Nope, unfollow. The writers on here I consider my friends, whom I interact with are actually pretty amazing about this. Either they don’t use aesthetics at all (they use gifs of the ST character) or they use multiple girls of the aesthetic they’re going for (I see a white girly girl aesthetic, a brown skinned girly girl aesthetic, and a dark skinned girly girl aesthetic in the same fics and mood boards!) or they simply don’t care to ensure the reader they want to depict in those aesthetics is always white so I see dark skinned girls, brown skins girls and white girls in rotation of those aesthetics!

5.) exclusion is something they do not face, which is why they don’t care. if you attempt to educate them, and they react the way you said they reacted, I’d just dump them. I’d of course bring up the occurrence when talking about the topic for the rest of eternity because I’m petty and they gave me the perfect example, but if they don’t want to step out of their privileged bubble and go on the offense to ensure they can remain in their ignorance is bliss mindset, then I don’t want ‘em. There’s plenty of other writers willing to make sure you feel included and are willing to learn, without dogpiling on you like that 🩷

Destiny 2 is a game that makes me despair.

At its core, it's a game. Shooting guns feels good, many abilities are really fun to use, and the unique traits of exotic weapons and armour are mostly all really cool. There's a genuinely interesting world with fascinating lore involving complex cosmic powers that have mortal morals thrust upon them and the various species involved with them.

But it's all enshrouded in MMO grind hell, bland storytelling, and somewhat obnoxious epic badass characters.

The idea of Light and Dark not being good and evil is being sloooowly explored as our characters gain access to useful Darkness powers. But it's hidden behind background chatter during gunfights and platforming, or optional dialogue. Or worse, tucked away lore articles unlocked via grind-y challenges.

The idea of the Darkness' "existence is the struggle to exist" philosophy enforcing metaphysical social darwinism to create a perfectly self-sufficient culture (called a "final shape") is really cool. The idea of the Light going around seeding life and giving people powers willy nilly because it wants to see endless "novel patterns" and then just leaving because it doesn't actually love you or anything is INTERESTING. Especially since the Dark is very willing to be your personal god.

I am by no means a new player. I got suckered in by an online friend a couple months ago, so my knowledge is somewhat limited, to be fair. But the "main" antagonists, the (deliberately evolved to be) fearsome and macabre alien Hive race, are so fucking cool but so little of their brutal and fascinating "sword logic" culture is given heavy exploration, even in a campaign where they're the main focus (the Witch Queen campaign, exploring Light-powered Hive, would have made a great excuse to explore the differences going on!). They become strong because literally, metaphysically, might makes right for them, and this makes them "sharp", allowing them to just cut holes in space to teleport their ships and do weird sorcery.
