To make or become different is the definition of change. Change occurs every day of the year over the decades the National Basketball Association has changed in every aspect of the game except the aspect of putting the basketball in to the hoop. Change isn’t always good for a big group of individuals especially in the United States of America because everyone can speak what they want out of their mouths. For the most part I believe the change of the NBA is the best thing to ever happen to the company and association not only for the player but also the office and most important the fans. As a dedicated fan of the NBA I believe that the evolution of basketball has happened before the eyes of my generation and it is the best thing that could ever happen.

Dr. James Naismith invented the sport and art of basketball in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The sport was originally made for YMCA small time athletes, basketball is now one of the most common sports in the entire world and is even played on a world stage in every 4 years when the Olympic competitions occur. The original basketball hoop was a wooden peach basket hung from a 10-foot pole which players had to use a ladder to remove the ball after a shot was made. Next, the metal rims with tight rope nets took place on the basketball scene which was finally replaced by a metal rim with nets that had holes in them allowing the ball to come straight through the net. The first ball used to play basketball was none other than a soccer ball. Naismith soon decided it was time for a change which he then contacted A.G. Spalding to request a new ball, Spalding soon replied with a ball with four leather panels with a rubber bladder inside. These four panel basketballs were used up into the 70’s which then the league figured it was time for a change adapting a new eight ball panel which allowed better grip of the ball. Spalding is now the official basketball of the NBA so it seems as if some things don’t change. You know Chuck Taylor? Yeah, the converse guy his shoes were worn to play basketball; the canvas shoe with rubber sole had the basketball shoe market on lock from 1921 well into the late 60’s. Imagine playing a full game of basketball in Chuck Taylor’s personally I don’t know how they did it the lack of grip and support would make me think seven times before I ran in them. Nike soon came in the 1972 with their famous Air Force 1 all with air sole technology making a basketball players comfortable which then sparked after his amazing legacy the Air Jordan. Other common brands like Reebok and Under Armor soon followed.

What’s anything without style? You may think I’m thinking of how fresh somebodies gear was when they were playing basketball but I’m not. When I say style, I mean the play style of this unique sport it has changed in so many ways it is seriously ridiculous. When basketball first started, the fundamentals were key you did what you had to do to put the ball in the basket. Dribbling was straight up and down bounce the ball to move, pass the ball when you couldn’t dribble and shoot when you were open. This fundamental play style was common because it not only did it work but it played a role in team work. The slow pace game consisted of two guards who were usually the shortest people on the court, tow forwards who were well mobile and a center who is the biggest person on the court. Everybody played their role on the court and on the team which lead to no confusion and simple basketball. Now let’s consider this age of basketball. The game goes about 125 mph at least, most of the players are not only huge but they are freak athletes and everybody on the court can do each others job which although is more confusing as a team but none the less it is very entertaining.  Guards can dribble in every way under their legs, behind their back, through somebody else legs and way more, forwards can jump about seven feet off the ground and the tallest center in the league right now is about 7’6. The play style of the NBA has evolved tremendously it is like a race between a cheetah and a sloth with the speed and the flashiness of a rap star and a Jewish man.

The NBA’s evolution is something special it took the entertainment level of the sport to a whole new level. The commissioner David Stern has done a great job allowing the fans input to reflect the league today. Not only does it allow fans to dream as if they were they favorite player it allows fans to stay updated and in sync in what they want to. The evolution of the NBA is the best thing to ever happen and the best part is that it isn’t over.

Heartbreak changes you,forever. If you say it doesn't then your lying. Not just to me,that doesn't matter,but to yourself as well. You build walls,you avoid songs,scents,colors,anything that reminds you of that person like the fucking plague. & that bull shit about "once you can listen to their song again,it means your moving on." is a bunch of misleading shit. It just means your cold enough,your walls are thick enough,that you can endure that song w/o asking why. You avoid all of that until you are 'patched up' enough that being around it doesn't tear your heart in half,again. You loved them with all you had,your entire being. So now your left with a dull ache that never goes away. Sex cures it,drinking cures it,smoking some cures it,but only temporarily. & no one knows,do they? They just look at your smile & accept the "I'm just tired" excuse. B/c they just want you to be better,so that they can feel better about not wanting you to be how you are,broken. So you become accustomed to hiding it,to walking with a bleeding,broken heart in silence every day...like I said,heartbreak changes you.
