It’s giving me Junji Ito vibes and I don’t even think there’s anything related to Hive Mind in one of his works-

- Of course, the obsession is platonic. He kind of just really wants to know you.

- While you’re no strongest Sorcerer, you’re still an interesting one. Your way of doing things interests Chidaruma to such a level that he would spy on you and fly around just to watch you.

- Meanwhile Asu, Duston, Moroku, and other Devils are just watching their God kind of just doing that shit with unamused expressions.

• He thought he could use you for some plans, but you proved to be difficult to chase around.

- And eventually, Kai seemed to find out just how much he enjoyed you and your Magic.

- Having to kill some of your subjects just to get to you, and having to chase you around always seems to spark something up in Kai. Something he’s never really felt before.

- It makes him a bit sad that he finally catches you. But… maybe he doesn’t have to kill you and steal your Magic. Maybe you two can be acquaintances, friends, or even more than that.

- There’s no words spoken unless you two are genuinely curious or each other. Onto which, mostly En is curious of your Magic.

- Keeping control of them while keeping a regular mind has to take some serious focus. But here you are, handling it like it’s no big deal.

- Goons are thankful to you. Sometimes they can be understaffed. That barely happens, but when they are, it’s tough to do work.

- Anyways, you’re good as a Cleaner, and you mostly have your subjects do your work for you. You need help with regular combat though.

Ain't Afraid To Die-Yozo Oba x Reader

A/N: This is based on the Junji ito Book "No Longer Human" originally by Osamu Dazai. It's supposedly an autobiographical book, this one shot will deal with incest, suicide, rape, sexual situations,etc. If you've read the book then you know. I'm gonna be referring to the character of Yozo Oba by both that name and Osamu Dazai like the author. (The inspiration for this I'd also based on a song by Dir en Grey 'Aint Afraid To Die') its also upsetting how everyone forgets that Dazai was real and not an anime character, everyone only knows about him cause of Bungou Stray Dogs.

Summary: You remember Yozo Oba being a clown and always cheering you up when you felt down, you both are no longer children, so when you return back now as an adult you've realized he isn't the happy boy he once was. (Once I finish reading the book I'll continue with part 2)

"Come on! I don't like seeing you sad, look at me!!" I sniffed and wiped my tears against the sleeves of my school uniform. Mother and father always scold me for getting them dirty since they always buy expensive things.

My parents and Yozo's are both rich families, here in the small city of Kanagi, Japan. People would feel jealous at how fine our families would get along. They would wave whenever we'd go on walks, I have two older brothers, both whom are adopted and I'm the only biological daughter.

Yozo on the other hand has many brothers and sisters, eight of them. His father would spend most of his time away while his mother took care of her children and the babysitter would also help.

I smile wide when I see Yozo making funny faces. His funny faces always work on me, I was upset because I overheard my parents fighting again, my brothers stayed silent and went off elsewhere because they didn't want to listen.

"Seeing you smile will always be my top priority!" He salutes and laughs when he sees my blushing face.

"Haha it better be! I always feel happy when I'm with you." I swung my legs back and forth and jumped up from my spot on the swings.

"Race you to the park!" I tagged him and began running away. Lucky for us the park was right behind his house, so we made it quick and we began to play on the swings and climb on the monkey bars

I held onto the bars tight and swung my legs back and forth to reach the next one. "(Y/N)! What have I told you about doing that?!"

I glanced to see who said that and it was his older cousin, who always looked at me in disapprovement.

"Girls at your age shouldn't do that when boys are around!" She pulled me down and I looked back to see Yozo who's entire face was red. Was he looking the entire time?

I blush at the thought of it and continued to play innocent. "I don't know what you mean." I liked to piss her off, for some strange reason she's never liked me so I returned my thoughts on her too.

"Yozo wasn't doing anything! He was just cheering me up. We're the same age so we deserve to play together." I tell her and ignored his aunt who also came to check on us.

I wrap an arm around Yozo and the boy nodded happily. "You always want him to keep on telling joked and stories, you'll end up tiring him."

His cousin didn't look happy at all. "That's enough kids." His aunt stepped forward and placed a hand in Yozo's shoulder.

"Oh, look! It's them!" A few people walked past and some would stop to see us and comment on things.

"Aren't they cute together?!"

"Rumor has it that the youngest of both families are to be married."

I blushed when I also heard that. I did hear out parents exchanging conversations back then, they want Yozo and I to get married in the future. That would make me the happiest girl alive!

His cousin huffed and I noticed his aunt frowning. "Hey, want to have a sleepover?" I excitedly asked and took hold of his hand.

"Sure! We gotta go ask my mom." We began to run away and ignored his aunt shouting for him to stay still.

"Lets tell some scary stories." I wiggle my fingers and made some spooky noises. Yozo and I were in my room, I had gotten out of taking a bath and for some strange reason I felt like I was being watched.

Either way I quickly got out and went back into my room. "How about you go first? Since I told one last time."

"Hmm alright, but try not to cling onto me later tonight!" I snuggled onto my blanket and stared at Yozo. The atmosphere for a scary story and sleepover was perfect.

Outside of my room the rain could be heard with slight thunder and candles were lit inside my room too so we wouldn't be entirely in the dark.

I paid my full attention on Yozo while he told the story, he's a really good story teller. I like his funny stories but I've gotten sick of hearing his cousin begging him to tell more and her annoying laughter.

I couldn't help but jump a bit when thunder roared and he got into an intense part of the story. I screamed when he suddenly tackled me to the ground, the story had ended on the protagonist being killed, Yozo really wanted to scare me.

"Sure you won't have nightmares?" Yozo joked still on top of me.

"Not at all! In fact I believe that you should become a writer." I smile and look up at him with curious eyes..I feel something down next to my parted leg.

My face burns red when I realized what it was. We both jumped and screamed when lightning crashed right outside my window.

It's been several days since Yozo came to sleep over at my house, I've spotted him but everytime he would hide and avoid me. I'm sure he felt embarrassed at what happened that night but I really missed hanging out with him.

School ended for the day and I walked past Yozo's house. I spotted the gardner watering some flowers, he took his job seriously but he seemed like a creep to me alongside the babysitter.

She seemed to get closer to Yozo. I peeked my head up from the bushes and saw her walking outside while fixing her kimono. Her hair seemed messy and her kimono was almost fully open, leaving little to the imagination.

I decided to quickly leave before I would get caught staring.

Days turned into weeks. Yozo and I were on speaking terms again but now he seemed to tone it out a but when it came to him joking, I was visiting him at the hospital and came as early as I could.

Whenever I would try to see him, his aunt or cousin would already be there and stay almost all day. I wanted to stay with him now.

"You're lucky on not heading to school, our new teacher is a nightmare." I told him and knew he was listening to me.

On the bed side table I saw many of his journals, I assume he was doing his homework there. "There's also this new student in class, every girl has been chasing him."

"Is he really that attractive?"

I shrug my shoulders and turn to look at him, "I guess, I for one am not interested in him. He's not my type, he's always serious and keeps to himself."

Why can't he realize that I like him.

I notice Yozo staying silent again and I saw his hands shaking, he gripped onto the sheets. "(Y/N).. I want to say something.."

I fully turn to face him in bed but before he could tell me, my parents and his aunt came rushing into the room and saw me close to him.

My parents had angry expressions on their face, but it was slid mixed with sadness and disgust. "Yozo..I.."

"(Y/N), come here." I stood still and saw Yozo hide his face. Before I could question him, my father came and rushed me out.

That was the last time I saw Yozo Oba.

"I've heard that he spends his money on booze, clothes and women. Might as well try and figure if it's true."

I wonder who they are talking about...

This has always been one of my least favorite places of the city. When the moon is out, the place is filled with bright lanterns and shops, customers wander around and pay to be with prostitutes.

Any years have gone by and now I've returned. Unfortunately things changed for worse, my brothers have gone their seperate ways and come to my house once in a while to visit.

We moved out for do long that I had a hard time remembering where some places were located. What back then my parents warned me to not go anymore to Yozo's house.

His aunt got pregnant but didn't say who the father was. It surprised me since his aunt was already old, and his cousin, she gave birth and killed Yozo's aunt in rage. I wonder what happened for her to do that so horrible.

Yozo..I wonder if he's still around. Had he changed? He was always so naive and fun.

I made my way past the many shops and would get catcalled, I felt disgusted by those men who only want one thing out of a woman. I tried not to trip on my kimono when I felt two men stalking me, I quickly went to take shelter at a small restaurant around the corner.

I noticed some prostitutes and regular girls suddenly stop what they were doing and we're focused on someone. I took a whiff and smelled cigarettes and expensive cologne.

Every girl turned their heads and so did I out of curiosity.

A man was in the middle of the street, walking with a tired or bored expression on his face. He had black nicely styled hair, dark eyes, high cheekbones and was entirely dressed in black.

He almost seemed like death himself.

My heart skipped a beat when the man walked past by me. His eyes seemed familiar even though they barely held any sort of light. I noticed the man had entered a brothel by the way he also smelt and the slight tangled hair.

I've grown to keep an eye on the littlest of thing's. I sighed tired of walking around in circles and decided to take a seat and have some food.

I sat down on a table by myself and I took a large bite of my sushi when someone grabbed a piece from my plate.

"Hey!" I stopped and stared side eyes at the mysterious tall man. I felt my cheeks warm up and surely my face was as red as the salmon on my plate.

"I noticed you're on your own. Any guy can come and snatch you to have some fun." I looked behind me to make sure be was talking to me, surely he was.

The man smirked a bit and ordered a bottle of sake, nothing more. He poured himself and some to me while he began to smoke a cigarette. "I won't rape you if that's why you're concerned."

I quickly grabbed the glass full of sake and took a drink. I've never been one to drink alcohol but it feels nice to do so once in a while. I noticed he kept staring at me when I drank another one.

"Do I have something on my face?"

"N-No. You're just.. beautiful to look at is all." He really is a charmer. I tried my best to hide my blushing face but he knew his flirting was working on me.

"Thank you, but I try not to think much of it. Don't think I didn't see you walking out of that brothel down the street. Don't you get concerned? I mean those girls sleep with anyone and might have some disease."

The man hummed and poured more sake for himself. "I just try to live the moment, we can die any time soon and no one would care."

"Maybe dying wouldn't be so bad, huh? A double suicide sounds quite romantic, don't you think?" He asked placing his drink down and looking back at me.

I stayed silent and rewinded what he just said in my head. A double suicide? Is that from a poem?

"Are you an author?" I asked assuming it was a poem like I thought.

He smirked and nodded his head. "I am. I enjoy writing a lot in my spare time."

"Do you have really have time to do that? I overheard dome girls talkng about you."

"They're just rumors, people like to share false information when they have nothing else to do."

I smirked at his answer, he must be right. If he says that then those things what I heard are lies. "What's your name then?"

"...You can call me Dazai..." Dazai. That's his name then. I smiled when he grabbed my hand and kissed it. He stood up and took a seat right next to me and started to touch my neck and slowly got lower.

"You're a lonely beautiful girl, if you stay here you won't like the end results. Why don't we go to my place?"

I agreed and how I wished I would've first known who he was and the many lies this man kept to me. But at that moment I didn't care, those dark eyes enchanted me and nothing else ran through my mind. This was only the beginning of the many heartbreaks I would endure.

PET UNANIMOUSLY JUNKS MARCOS POLL PROTEST VS VP ROBREDO

The Supreme Court sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal dismissed the electoral protest of former senator Bongbong Marcos against Vice president Leni Robredo.

SC Spokesperson Brian Keith Hosaka on Tuesday, February 16 confirmed the decision and bared "7 members fully concurred with the dismissal and 8 concurred only with the result."

Hosaka did not divulged the main basis of the decision.

Rappler reported that PET unanimously voted during the en banc session on February 16.

A source told Rappler, the electoral protest was dismissed due to Marcos’ failure to sufficiently justify an annulment of elections in three provinces in Mindanao.

The High Court’s public information office released an amended briefer late Tuesday afternoon, stating that the entire poll protest is unanimously dismissed.

The protest lasted for four years, creating controversies including Marcos’ camp petition to inhibit Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, the justice in charge of the decision.

“Not yet over”

Despite the decision of the SC, Marcos’ camp believe that the fight is not yet done.

Attorney Vic Rodriguez, spokesperson of Marcos, explained they could appeal the decision noting that it only deals with its second cause of action and not the entire petition. "Regardless of the outcome, haharapin namin. And I guess, baka ngayong araw, ito na yung inaantay namin na panahon ng desisyon ng Tribunal," Rodriguez told ABS-CBN News.

He added that the SC has yet to dismiss their third cause of action.

I found it interesting to note that the Hebrew words “baalim” and “adonim” similarly use the “royal we. Well, I think we should re-translate Genesis 1: Also, I re-translated Genesis 1: God created the skies, and the land.

The Hebrew phrase translated here as “universe” literally means, “face of the deep” and is taken by some to refer to the oceans of the world. According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word translated here as “floating” means literally “brooding,” as a hen does over its eggs. Could we adopt another way to do footnotes in WikiProject Bible? I understand that those who put in footnotes have generally used the letter a, b, c, and so on with the Fn tags.

However, as the Fn system is very inflexible when adding extra footnotes, and, at least in Genesis, notes are starting to pile up and not link right.

I’ve had no success trying to make them work. If no one objects by Monday, I’m going to change the notes in Genesis to work with the simpler ref tags. I am not convinced that tense-matching is essential, I changed some phrases’ tense around a little for flow and for clarity. The important thing is that the verses meaning is unchanged. As for reconciling religion with science, the genesis creation story is the least significant part of the Bible, it is even the least significant part of genesis, you could throw it out without changing anything else.

God the creator is not particularly important to religion, which is why religion doesn’t usually care about big-bang nucleosynthesis. This book is mostly concerned with what particular sins some hypothetical ancestor of this or that tribe must have committed to explain why they are all so pathetic, and why the descendents of more worthy hypothetical ancestors are justified in occupying their land and slaughtering them.

It also is concerned with what manner of action lead to riches and numerous descendents, and these actions are those that God engenders, thereby defining God by a series of examples.

The creation of the world is the dippiest part of the book. I thought this needed to be addressed. I know we don’t have an agreement yet on how to translate the tetragrammaton YHWHbut shouldn’t we at least leave it as set by the translators till we get some sort of consensus? I do agree that it should be changed back, though. Didn’t God Himself say at Exodus 3: This is My name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation. I tried to rewrite the first chapter into a more literal translation using as many short Germanic words as possible, to convey the folky flavor of the Hebrew.

I was wondering how people here feel about this sort of thing.

I’m fluent in English and dabar Hebrew, but I have no particular expertise in ancient Hebrew. I had some trouble translating “remesh” I didn’t like the King James solution. My major complaint with King James is that een bulks up the Hebrew too much, probably out of reverence. Two word constructions in hebrew become multisyllabic multiple-word overlong constructions in the English, making the Bible seem less accessible than it actually is to a Hebrew speaker.

The solution is to use shorter words, which this site does. But I had many complaints about the previous version: I didn’t like the first sentence, which was not a direct translation, but an IMO incorrect interpretation.

I changed the wording slightly so as to keep the prepositional structure of the sentence, which I think gives it a rhythm that matches the Hebrew. I didn’t feel the noun neologism “strech out” is acceptable for “rakiya”, which in context, should be a solid dome-like object.

I also dislike using “heavens” for “shamaiim”, which just means “sky” it was used in the rakiya verse. I also tried to keep important parallelisms like when god says “yehi or” and then “yehi or”, it’s an important parallelism. It’s hard to keep in English because the tense must change, but I tried as best I could. The “dominion” is a little too long a word for the Hebrew original “ourdou”, which means something like “go down on”, which I thought just means “look down on”, or “oversee”.

If people here are OK with the general spirit of these edits, I’ll get an account, but for now I’m an anon, sorry. I didn’t like the interpolations and additions that were added into the text. They provide some form of commentary, which I am sure is well intentioned, but I think it is best to stick closely to the original. I am using original Hebrew textand nowhere does it say that all the water of Ethiopia was provided by the river, for example.

Nowhere does it say that the helpmate should be “suitable”, etc. I was confused by verse 3, the last clause, where I could not sort out the syntax in a way that makes sense.

The sentence seems to say that the creation created god to create it, or that God created other Gods to make creation, or aefer else nonsensical. The King James is not helpful, because it just disregards the strange syntax.

The word “toldot” in verse 4 usually means “tales” or “narratives”, not “generations”, although the root of the word is the word for generating offspring. There is an issue with “Mot tamuth”, the threat that if you eat from the tree of knowledge you will “die a death”.

This is a Hebrew emphasis stylistic device, but it doesn’t work at all in English. The King James solution is to say that you will “surely die”, but that is not satisfactory, because it doesn’t capture an essential Hebrew play on words: To capture the ambiguity, I tried to use the phrase “You will die a certain death”, which is similarly ambiguous in English, depending on whether certain means “type of” or “assured”.

If you read it as “You will die an assured death”, it is a lie by God to Adam, but if you read it as “You will die a type of death”, it describes the loss of innocence, so that God isn’t really lying to Adam, just being ambiguous. In regard to point the monotheism of the old testament is that there is one all-powerful god that rules all the other lesser gods, not that there is only one god in toto. Otherwise, the first commandment “you will put no seefer gods in front of me” would make no sense.

I don’t know theology, favar I hope that this translation can avoid changing the text to make theological points. This is crap she literally says “I bought a man of Yahweh”, because “Cain”, which I think is better spelled “Kain” to emphasize the guttaral “K” sound dxvar in modern English and Hebrew there is no guttaral K, the K has a better connotation of it. The reason is the root of “buy” or “purchase” is Kn, which is Kain’s name.

To read all that into a single word bjblia sort of means “And then” is the source of the verbosity in biblical translations. It is important to stick close to the Hebrew here, especially “fruit of the earth”, which is much bilia poetic than the less lovely “crops”. This is not great: It’s one word, but it occurs several times in the bible, and it is known to mean “fat”, not “fat sheep”.

It is incorrect Hebrew to translate it as “fat ones”. It was their actual fat which was the offering.

I think it is better to say that he was “keen” on Abel’s but not particularly hot on Kain’s, without implying disrespect. I think that embittered is a better translation of Kain’s feelings. Kain is embittered, not angry. No real wrong has been done to him.

This is surely the correct interpretation of the words, and eloquently written, but the actual text is different and terser, and in particular, does not have the final “but”.

Also, there is a mismatched conjugation in the interpretation of “desire” as applying to the word sin although I agree this is the right interpretation, it’s a typo in the original, or an edit from singular to plural which wasn’t made consistently. I’ll try to render thy syntax problem accurately. First, rendez-vous is French, and does not belong. You can seter “arranged to meet”. But all of this is interpolating from the single Hebrew word “amar”.

What the Hebrew actually says is “Kain said to Able, and when they were in the fields, killed him”. The first part is not grammatical, and looks like an error, or an editing omission. The easiest interpretation is to interpret it as “Kain said this to Abel”, meaning the previous text that Yahweh gave to Kain.

The source cannot be davat to insert wholecloth an interpretation which is inconsistent with the Hebrew original. If you want to say “Kain spoke to Abel”, you would use “Diber” not “amar”. The second is only used to indicate dialogue, not arranging rendez-vous.

MANILA – Senator Richard Gordon called for desilting the Laguna de Bay to prevent another massive flooding that Metro Manila and nearby Calabarzon experienced during Typhoon Ulysses.

Gordon said desilting Laguna de Bay would increase the lake’s holding capacity for rainwater and floodwater, which would spare surrounding communities from being submerged during the typhoon or rainy season.

“It’s about time that we desilt Laguna De Bay. Kung ide-desilt, lalalim ‘yan. Noong nananalanta ang bagyong Ulysses, umabot ng 13.6 above sea level na lagpas na sa maximum critical level nitong 12.5 meters kaya nakadagdag pa ito sa pagbaha (Desilting will make it deeper. During Ulysses’ onslaught, it reached 13.6 above sea level which is above the lake’s maximum critical level of 12.5 meters and that’s why it contributed to flooding),” he said.

Gordon said the bay should be rehabilitated and cleared of fish pens so it could be developed into a tourism attraction and an alternate mode of transportation.

Hungary is known to have the expertise and capability in terms of water management and treatment. It has been credited for successfully improving water condition in Lake Balaton, a freshwater lake in the country’s western region and the largest in Central Europe. Lake Balaton has since been transformed into a bustling tourist destination.

Laguna de Bay, which has a total surface area of 900 square kilometers, is the biggest lake and one of the most important inland bodies of water in the country. It is also the second biggest inland freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.

Over the years, efforts to rehabilitate Laguna Lake have been delayed due to legal challenges and setbacks.

In 2012, former President Benigno Aquino junked an PHP18.7-billion rehabilitation deal entered into by his predecessor, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, with Belgian firm Baggerwerken Decloedt En Zoon (BDC), citing irregularities. (PR)

Finally caught up with Winter 2018 anime season (copywriting is so much more time-consuming job than dealing with insurance paperwork. Guess that’s why they more for the copywriting...)

What I watched:

Violet Evergarden: Nothing impressive as for now. The music is quite good but that's all. Giving it two more episodes and then I'll decide.

Poputepipikku: What the fuck. Honestly, what the fuck. This show just broke the "Fastest anime drop" record previously held by Keijo. I dropped Keijo after 12 minutes while I dropped Poputepipikku after 5 minutes. I have nothing against bizarre humour but this is just a complete trash. It might be the biggest trash I have watched in quite a while. Who the heck thought of this?!

Ito Junji, Collection: To my relief, it's not as bad as I feared it might be. And by bad, I mean Deen's job at adapting Junji Ito's stories, not the stories itself. The stories itself are great but after the massive failure that was Yoi no Togi, I was really worried about the quality of the anime. Just hope they will keep this up.  

Gakuen Babysitters: I didn't even plan to watch it but I saw the gifs ( @magiccatprincess , that's the fourth or fifth anime I'm watching just because I saw the gifs on your blog, lol). Insanely adorable babies, Daisuke Ono in the cast, En and Atsushi together yet again...what else do you need?  Maybe just for one of the kids to not have Mofurun's voice. But it’s still great. Be prepared to melt from all the cuteness.

Hakumei to Mikochi: Girls Last Tour of this season, just without the post-apocalypse. Cute tiny beings doing cute things. And the art is truly stunning! Everything and everyone are so incredibly detailed, even the characters you saw for one minute!  

Sanrio Danshi: Another cute series - highschool boys embracing their love for mascot characters.  

Killing Bites: Oh, what a gloriously terrible edge it is. In the first minutes, a high school girl gets nearly gang-raped, only for the girl to turn out to not be a regular school girl and definitely not as helpless as they thought. Actually, she's a half-human, half-beast hybrid that takes parts in gruesome fights for the pleasure of some influential guys. And our MC character got roped into it all just because he is an incredibly unlucky guy (he nearly got killed four times just during the first episode! And that's just because his friends turned out to be assholes). Who cares the plot doesn't make sense and the dialogues are ridiculous, it's entertaining! Definitely the “so bad it’s good” category.

Beatless: Boy meets a girl who is actually a fugitive humanoid with superpowers. It's better than it sounds, at least for now. 

Dame x Prince Anime Caravan: a snarky princess from a small country is sent to peace treaty signing ceremony and there she meets "over the top" prince Narek (with En Yufuin's voice!!) and completely oblivious prince Luze (with obviously evil prime minister). The first episode is hilarious, can’t wait for the next one. Thanks @koizumicchi!
