sorry i literally have NO idea what to call this post without the title being hella long, but basically this is a about things i’m looking forward to seeing and what i’d like to be expanded upon. hope you enjoy! and feel free to reblog with things you want to see yourself.

ashe’s backstory

i’m using backstory broadly but when i say that i don’t just mean when he was live. i’d also like to see some of his first moments as a reaper. and this leads me to me next point

wrynn

i want to know what ashe’s relationship with wrynn was like up until he ate her demon. assuming that they HAD a relationship of course (i doubt he just went up to her one day and was like “welp, i’m gonna eat your demon now!”). not to mention, the implications of him carrying around her corpse (still not sure if that’s the case though). i also just wanna know more about wrynn in general. what was her life like as a human? what was her sin? was she’s always this crazy or was it her time as a reaper that made her that way? what were her beliefs and goals? did she willingly let ashe take her demon or did she fight back? i hope we learn more. remember, the real wrynn is in hell living out her sentence. the “wrynn” we see interacting with ashe is her demon who essentially became another version of her bc of how in tune she was with it. maybe the group will meet her as they’re traversing the levels of hell.

nyra and bernadette flashbacks

in s4, we learn from nyra that two’s relationship wasn’t always has honstile as we see it in the series. they used to be friends, even created a secret handshake to confuse azrael. i just wanna see some moments from their times as friends and what events took place to sour their friendship into what it was when we meet them for the first time.

archreaper interactions

pretty self explanatory. they all hate each other (according to nine) despite their shared goal of wanting to make scarlet suffer and i wanna see that animosity :D

brook and scarlet/sanctuary flashbacks

chase said the sanctuary would take time to build before brook and scarlet could live in it. i want to know if they immediately decided to use the sanctuary as a residual space for survivors or did they spend some time just processing everything that happened with the shattering and ashe being defeated.

scarlet breakdown

ok ik this sounds weird but hear me out. i feel like scarlet hasn’t had a good cry since like s2 when chase got stabbed. it’s clear that scarlet’s been holding everything in since chase’s death and the shattering and i think it’s only a matter of time until she can’t keep it in anymore. i just want her to let out everything cause she can only ignore her feeling for so long.

brook and chase flashbacks

again, pretty self explanatory. brook and chase’s relationship is lacking in a lot of areas and i want to see more moments between just them.

🎤 - it’s hard to gauge what’s popular/unpopular in small fandoms, especially when most of them aren’t active online (and i stopped reading webtoon comments ages ago), so i don’t really have any opinions that i would consider unpopular. i definitely have complaints about how certain things are handled like how scarlet and chase’s relationship was portrayed in s3, the useless subplot of brook, scarlet, and chase becoming vigilantes, or chase and brook’s underdeveloped relationship. but they don’t HEAVILY influence my enjoyment of the series. and in the grand scheme of things, my takes are lukewarm at best.

not to be basic but i have a soft spot for brook and scarlet’s relationship. i’ve always kinda related to brook in regards to his toxic relationship with his sister. don’t worry, my sister’s never tried to kill me but up until recent years, we’ve had a pretty terrible relationship. i was always jealous of my friends or ppl on tv who had the “typical” sibling experience of “yeah we hate each other but we’ll have each other’s backs!” i’m delving into headcannon territory now but i always imagined that brook saw scarlet as an older sister in a way. now, i usually hate “sibling coding” arguments bc i think it’s stupid most of the time and just an excuse for ppl to demonize certain ppl for liking ship instead of just saying you see them as friends (cause anything outside of romantic attraction must be familial /s). however with brook and scarlet i can actually get behind the idea. idk, the two of them just speak to me. i remember when i first started reading s4 and grave did that whole fakeout with brook and scarlet not being friends anymore, i contemplated whether or not i wanted to continue reading the series, i’m not even joking. like, you wanna kill chase? fine whatever. but let scarlet and brook stay together please! 😭

my favorite season is probably a tie between s3 and s4. s3 definitely has it’s problems, particularly with pacing (s3 is VERY long compared to s1 and s2) and artstyle consistency, but idk, there’s just something about it that i love. i think it’s mainly bc we solve a lot of the main mysteries from the first two seasons. although this also comes with it’s downsides as s3 is quite bloated in terms of content which can be overwhelming for some readers. although i do think s3 is the worst in terms of artstyle consistency, i think it has the best moments in terms of art imo. one moment that comes to mind immediately is the reveal of god’s death. the visual of god having a whole in their chest with the red spider lily coming out of their head still unsettles me to this day. and of course the s3 finale was just gorgeous all around. another scene i really like is when brook breaks down in episode 110. the wonderful ppl over on the itgr discord have pointed out that the artstyle during the middle of season three made the main three look like children (😭). and while i do agree, i think that actually works with brook. i feel readers often forget that brook died pretty young, like he JUST turned 18, basically still a kid. in episode 110, he looks noticeably younger than in previous seems and i think that really adds to the moment. s3 also has my favorite fight scenes. i usually don’t care for fight scenes regardless of genre, but i think what i like about itgr fights is that it’s usually a battle of ideologies and that makes it more engaging for me.

s4 is very new in comparison to what we’ve seen from previous seasons and i think that’s a good thing. i’m gonna be honest, i wasn’t really digging the apocalyptic vibes the season was going for at the beginning, but it’s really started to grow on me after a while. it’s nice to see scarlet interact with other characters that either weren’t just brook and chase or ppl she had to kill minutes upon meeting. the archreapers are definitely the highlight of the season for me. they’re a good way of showing that scarlet’s actions did in fact have consequences even if they were understandable from her perspective. the artstyle is much more consistent and there been some changes stylistically. there’s a much bigger emphasis on hair and that it’s made of individual strands now where in earlier seasons it felt it was more like a large mass on the characters’ head. i really love the choice to shade scarlet with blue and sometimes purple. it’s just a really nice constrast that’s satisfying to look at.

i don’t think i have a favorite character. i love all of them in their own way!

sexuality hcs haven’t been something i’ve thought about for itgr i’ll be quite honest. if i did have to say one hc, it’d be that i think beenadette is a lesbian.
