DRV3 Creati challenge

Saw it going around and decided to do it for myself.

Spoilers under the cut;

1) Favourite character:

Kiibo!!!

A pure boy, a special boy, a boy who was treated as a joke character up until the very last minute and saved everyone

im always a sucker for robots tbh, so i already liked Kiibo from the start and i still like him now. A very special boy indeed

Close seconds are Kaede, Ouma and Momota, because two of those are energetic hero types with a lot of passion for their talents, hell yeah, and the other is a terrifying little shit with an angel face. Robot and the tragic purples, basically

2) Least favourite character:

Saihara, probably

I’m just too salty about the bait and switch, and while its not Sai’s fault i do like to joke about his manpain and such. His character arc was also not bad, with him getting more confident along the way, unlike Makoto who didnt get any development until the very last chapter. Ill never be not mad about Kaede, though I imagine he feels the same

Sorry, Sai. The only right harem is the Kaeharem.

Also im pretty sure he has some weird fetish for purple bc his waifu is Kirigiri and Kaede, Momota and Ouma all had a crush on him and died but you do you, dude

3) Favourite SHSL/Ultimate/Talent:

Ultimate Folklorist

Neither Shin’s design or personality spoke to me, but when i found out about his mythologist title i was immediately interested, due to having an interest in mythology myself. So yeah, i like his title, just not him.

4) Character design you like most:

Ouma, probably? With Kaede, Kiibo and Miu being close behind.

I guess i like how they intentionally made him look cutesy, but at the same time the tattered clothes made you suspect there was something wrong with him. Also, that scarf. Also, he’s running around a worn school in all white. Keep it classy, man.

Close seconds are Kiibo bc robot, Kaede because her overall design is very cute and just plain enough to be fit for a dr protagonist, and her music note skirt is cute too. I like Miu’s design because I’m a sucker for delinquent looking aspects in characters, such as spikes on clothes, so i liked her BDSM esque design, lol

But yea, top ranked, probably Kokichi. He should probably buy a fashion magazine sometime, though. Also, im pretty sure he dyed his hair hoping itd all turn purple and was dissappointed when it didnt work out bc his hair’s too black and swallows the color.

5) Character you relate to most:

Probably Himiko, because I, too, am gay, would rather stay inside than do anything productive, and i dont notice how much i care about someone until theyre suddenly taken away from me

6) Favourite execution:

NEW AND IMPROVED SPACE JOURNEY

Ever since Kaitos talent was announced, i immediately started suspecting hed be the mastermind or a killer, because i sincerely doubted theyd pass up the oppurtunity for a callback to the first execution shown to the audience.

And they didnt pass it up. And it was amazing. And while i love Kaito with all my heart, at least he gave us a great callback.

Close seconds are The Flea Waltz for its brutality and unique idea, and the piano music getting slowly distorted is a morbid, but good touch in my opinion. Also Scroll Picture of Executions Past and Present, again, for its brutality, but also for its kickass theme, especially at the end.

7) Character you were saddest to see die:

MOTHERFUCKING KAEDE

I probably dont need an explanation for this one due to how much i bitch about the protagonist switch, but i was extremely disraught by Kaede’s death and i still am, though to a lesser extent now. While the switch in itself was great, its the fact that it was a female lead, one that people were looking forward to. After Komaru, who had great characterization and development in AE, we were expecting a lot from a game who’s major focus was the personality of the characters, but what we got was another insecure male lead.

So yeah, im mad about Kaede and always will be. The switch was great, but the fact that the one that was switched was a female protag was a very bad move.

8) Who you thought was the mastermind:

Kaito. My man. My dude. My bf.

I wanted him to be the mastermind so badly, with him looking like a Hagakure/Kazuichi character, itd be such a great twist for him to be the MM. Due to the theories of the game taking place in space, that just fueled my theory farther. After his SHSL talent reveal, I was hoping SO BAD hed at least be a killer to get a Blast Off-esque execution for him. Also, his motto “Famous even in space, Momota Kaito!” definitely sounds like something a mastermind would say upon being found out.

When i was watching the Chapter 5 stream, I was on the edge of my seat when the execution started, literally just whispering “please be space journey please be space journey” and was SO HAPPY when it was ACTUALLY space journey.

I actually ended up liking Kaito a lot, due to my surprise, and im glad that he at least got to go out with a bang.

9) Favourite Monokid cub:

Monokid!!

Little rocker dude with a great voice. Best monokuma was killed off with best girl. Rip, little dude, may you break guitars after concerts with Kaede in the afterlife.

10) Favourite OST/In-game track:

Scrum Debate theme!!

I loved the theme ever since we first heard a clip of it in a trailer and I still do. It feels tense, but badass at the same time. Close second is Shinguji’s execution theme.

11) Best official art in your opinion:

Oh boy, thats a tough one. But because im petty, im also gonna give you the one crossover art where Kiibo and Kaede are shown together. Yeah, that works
