also i recognize that i'm just transliterating the layers of hell for this which i'm kinda. ehhh? on??? but the like ""official"" translations for them are kinda weird to me (see below, list goes up to heresy)

and it's like. these are fine but side by side like this it comes off as kinda super repetitive? and when a lot of other japanese media tackle the seven deadly sins and things like that (not the same exact topic but there's a lot of overlap w/ the layers of hell), they tend to just transliterate the concepts instead of actually translating them. which is fine! and in my eyes, UK wise, it's like, the player knows they're in hell, we don't need every layer to repeat it. like does this make sense? and like. they're just a lot longer than the original english names and its like. ok you know what everyone else is transliterating them we might as well do it here too. i went back and forth on this for like an hour btw

And I absolutely will consider making it an itansha because if I'm risking my life doing 60 on a minimoto that weighs barely sixty pounds more than me I'm gonna make sure it's worth dying on.

I think I may impulse purchase a cheap 50cc motorbike. It's a GROM clone built around the GY6 so it's honestly not a bad idea as far as something to fuck around on. I could just swap the CDI and disable the limiter or I could go full tuner and swap it for a 150cc Mainland GY6 and gut the muffler among other things to Go Sanic Fast.

But for now I have to contemplate which GY6 clonebike to go for, and where I can get it.

Itasha Culture

Anime holds an extreme significance to the culture of Japan and creatively interprets many different aspects of life in Japan. The culture and values instilled in different animes and manga are internationally looked upon, and anime is the great entertainment influence in the country. In Japan, you sometimes see cars with characters and symbols from various popular anime and manga series drawn creatively on the bodywork. These creative and customized cars are known as Itasha and encompasses an entire subculture within Japan. An Itasha can be any vehicle covered in manga, comics, stickers or anime. This subculture originated in the 1980s with character plush toys and stickers and became a phenomenon in the last few decades when anime culture became popular on the internet. A lot of Itasha are created as a hobby and as a part of the car owner’s interest in a particular anime or manga series. By doing this, the owners can showcase their affection and use their car as a drawing board. Itasha provides a way for owners who are bored of their car to develop a new interest in it through customization. There are various designs that can be considered Itasha. Some variations cover the entire car with designs while others have images in specific places such as the hood and bumpers. Some people chose to cover their whole car with an image or decal in the form of stickers or paintwork. Along with the Itasha car culture, there is a subculture dedicated to similar designs on motorcycles and bicycles known as Itansha. Itasha culture has become so popular in Japan that there have been several large scale events and shows dedicated to showing off the culture and the people that partake in it. In 2018, over 1000 Itasha gathered in Tokyo for a car event and anime convention. There was live music, talk shows, and cosplayers of several different animes. Many companies set up booths and drew in attention related to art and business. Every car and bike owner were able to show off their creations as well as interact with other people that had similar interests and styles. Since this event, there have been several others held around Japan with large turnouts and people. Itasha culture also has a strong presence in motorsport culture and is a unique feature in the industry. Race cars covered in Itasha decals can be seen in international and regional races and showcase the sub culture in Japan. Many professional teams are supportive of the culture due to it being a great opportunity for sponsorship decals as well as expansion of their fanbase. Japan as a majority has widely accepted the Itasha culture and it has been expanding rapidly over the previous decade. The decorative style of Itasha has been used to market several new products in stores and even apparel sold it stores and malls. Vehicle electronics such as navigation and voice audio can be customized with character voices from manga series. However, the acceptance of Itasha is not universal and there are some groups that are not completely fond of it. There is a substantial clash between original car enthusiasts and the enthusiasts of Itasha. These original car enthusiasts do not support the clash between Japanese pop culture and car culture for a variety. Mainly, they do not believe that covering a car with stickers and images is a legitimate modification, and they often ridicule people to do so. These enthusiasts are accustomed to modifying their cars with wheels, suspension, and body kits and feel Itasha culture to be almost comical compared to theirs.

I originally finished it while taking a break from subbing “Itansha no Waltz” but the song is just so catchy and the lyrics are so good that I wanted to share~! I hope you all enjoy it~ XD

Best of... June 2018

Here I am with the monthly chart in “Best of... June 2018″! The Summer is closer to start and the visual kei scene is going to heat up itself, with new and intriguing content. So between awaited comebacks, new confirmations and rising promises, we have chosen the first five hot bands of this warm month, whose results have been fascinating and fitting all tastes. And now... let’s start the countdown!

5) Reign - Shigoku [Extremely]/Hakuda [A snake] (20.06.2018)

This young visual band splits its essence in two parts for their newest work, respectively the 12th and the 13th single.

Why they are here: During their path, the band didn’t make to deliver something relevant, apart from their early singles. Following up a quite decent album like Belial, they divide their style in two parts; the first one has an experimental vibe, with Middle-Eastern influences and the darkest notes possible, while the second goes closer to their heaviness, with a more rough and traditional touch, for two interesting and various singles.

Why they are here: After having introduced themselves in a dynamic and energetic style with the debut work Loveless, the band improves their own level offering an heavier and engaging metal sound, with good industrial influences and a good vocal versatility, making this band more and more promising.

3) Matenrou Opera - Invisible Chaos (13.06.2018)

Matenrou Opera continues to be strong and compelling, with a new single, which confirms JaY as official guitarist of the band.

Why they are here: The single shows that the band has come back to exalt their own sound with powerful and piercing notes, with a peculiar focus to Sono’s vocal range, arriving even to clear and crystalline tones, a thing which improves him as singer, without forgetting the technical work of the other musicians, a strong feature even in this really good work by them.

Why they are here: With the mini-album Orokashii ryuu no yume, the band showed that they have never lost their own powerful and enchanting style and following up the solid Narrow Escape, D brings their style to a more aggressive level in this single; adrenalinic notes, a strong techinique and Asagi’s incredible performances are the key ingredients of a great visual kei release.
