He produces 4000 bottles a year of Friulano, one style of which is this Filip merlot - the result of a limit harvest that's barrel-fermented before spending almost a year in oak. Deep and fleshy with plum, raspberry jam and pomegranate at the front.’

Designer Ilaria Miani took this ancient home and turned it into a bright, colorful, modern space that really works with the style of the house. 

She used very bright colors, did a faux Tuscan plaster on the old walls, kept the beams and installed brick floors. Looks good, right?

The kitchen is modern, with greenish/yellow walls and a contemporary striped table, but it’s unmistakably Tuscan.

Look at the rocks in the hall- you can sit on the one by the door. Convenient for a mudroom. 

In this bedroom, she did a modern color block design on the wall, simple black furniture, and matching linens, flanked with antique doors for perfect balance.

This room features a more classic design with a modern canopy bed.

This may be the master with a gorgeous antique armoire, chair & foot stool covered in classic ticking, and wide black stripes to tie in with the design of the bed.

In the childrens’ room, I love the castle headboards and how the blue rectangle on the wall mirrors the beds. 

Bright red and yellow room ties the design of the beds into the style of the mirror.

Little history of the Della Rovere's in the wizarding society:

Della Rovere's were thought to have ended their family line in Vittoria Della Rovere (1694) who married into de' Medici family and the titles became extinct with the extinction of the House of Medici with the death of her grandson Gian Gastone de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany in 1737. The family line continued how ever in secret as they were almost reveled to the muggles for being wizards. They left Rome and Urbino and created a hidden home in Florence, following in Vittoria's footsteps. With time they were wiped from the lives of the muggle's but stayed well known and wealthy as well as more powerful than ever in their wizarding society. They would later be known as just Rovere’s

Agata was the oldest child of Francesco Maria IV della Rovere and Teresa Miani. She grew in luxury and enjoyed every bit of it as a child. She was home schooled but grew out to be extremely talented witch. She was also skilled in languages as the family traveled a lot and she always knew that she’d want to work internationally.

Story:

When Agata was 18, she met the travelling wizard writer Ezra Greeneway. He fell in love with her and she loved his beauty and they started a fiery relationship that lead Ezra to ask for her hand in marriage. Loving to be mysterious, she left her waiting for a while without giving a proper answer waiting to see if he'd still wait but eventually her family, who all loved Ezra, begged for her to accept and she did. She was excited about the wedding and their love but eventually started to feel doubtful of the marriage and what it would mean for her. She found herself unable to say  yes to him and ran away breaking his heart.

After the wedding she had everyone's eyes on her, people were disappointed and angry and her family was ashamed threatening  to promise her to next suitor that would have her if anyone else ever would. She moved away from her family and focused on her career and eventually moved to London to work with the Ministry Of Magic in international businesses.

He wanted his children to be happy and marry who ever they wanted to as he did himself but after Agata decided not to marry Ezra he grew angry and judged her choice. The two weren't close after she left to London.

Mother: Teresa Miani

Teresa came from a less wealthy pureblood family. Her family had lost their wealth when she met her future husband. He chose to marry her. Teresa and Agata often argued but she loved her perhaps the most out of all her children. When she moved away it was a great loss for her and she kept in touch with her even when she left the country. Younger brother:  Achille della Rovere Being the oldest child, Agata was to inherit most of the family’s fortunes. After Agata left Italy, her younger brother Achille was named the heir. He’s sly and quick tempered and always hated being second to Agata. Out of the siblings he is more distant to Agata. Even though they had a little competition growing up, the two did still care for one another and defended each other when needed. She wasn’t mad at him for taking the leading position in the family since she herself had other dreams.

Favorite brother: Angelo della Rovere Angelo is the youngest of the three children. Agata and Angelo have around 20 years of age difference. She adores him and was a big part on raising him. Angelo was home schooled like the other two children but it proved difficult for him. After he turned 14, he made a decision to move to England to live with Agata in order to go to Hogwarts. He was sorted in Slytherin.  Angelo is a combination of his two siblings. He has a quick temper and he thinks highly of himself and wants to do great in life and to have glory. Still being the youngest child with no certain future plans has made him secretly very insecure and afraid. He also has a big heart, even if he doesn’t show it to everyone and he thinks his sister is the most brilliant person to exist.

Ezra Greenaway Agata and Ezra met when he first traveled to Italy. He adored her from the moment they met and she loved that about him. Agata was greedy for that sort of attention and already had lot of admirers. Ezra was the most beautiful one to her and she admired that he had high ambitions and agreed to marry him eventually after pondering on it. It was only later that she started to think about how this marriage could turn out to be like. She feared for him to leave her for too long and having to be a stay at home and be a mother all alone, being also a very powerful witch  and career oriented, it scared her that she would have to be just someone's wife and arm piece. She didn't want to adventure with him either as she was more focused on the hopes and dreams of her own career. The last option would have been for Ezra to give up his dreams and that was also something she suddenly couldn’t find herself asking from him so she decided to break his heart in order for him to forget about her and focus on himself.

Northern Italy, 1944 or 1945: a Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 of ANR-Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana’s 2nd Gruppo leave the dispersal to go for take-off. The ANR’s 2nd Gruppo Caccia (Fighter Group) was the first air unit of the Repubblica Sociale Italiana - the Republic founded on Autumn 1943 by Mussolini after his return in Italy from the Germany – equipped with the Messerschmitt Bf 109. Starting from first half 1944, the ANR was, after the Regia Aeronautica on 1943, the second Italian user of the German fighter receiving directly by the Luftwaffe about 200 Bf 109, all of Series G-6 and G-10, except three K-4 and at least two G-12 two-seat trainer, as replacement of the Macchi MC.205 and Fiat G.55 now barely available because war attrition and the nearly total destruction of the Italian aeronautical factories by the Allied raids. The 2nd Gruppo was established at Bresso airfield, Milan, on January 1944, leader Tenente Colonnello (Lt. Col.) Aldo Alessandrini, with Squadriglie: 1st “Gigi Tre Osei” (Luigi Three Bird, in Italian “Gigi” is the Luigi’s diminutive), leader Tenente (Lt.) Ugo Drago; 2nd “Diavoli Rossi” (Red Devils), leader Capitano (Capt.) Mario Bellagambi; 3rd “Gamba di ferro” (Iron Leg), leader Capitano (Capt.) Luccardi. After a brief operational activity with the G.55, the 2nd Gruppo began at Cascina Vaga, near Pavia, the transition to Bf 109 at Cascina Vaga, near Pavia, and the familiarization with the German combat tactics and soon was completely operative with the German fighter accomplishing interdiction missions and scramble under radar control of the Luftwaffe’s Jagdführer based near Verona. Later the 2nd Gruppo was based in the North East Italy with the Squadriglie 1st and 3rd at Verona-Villafranca and Aviano and the 2nd Squadriglia at Osoppo (Udine) and Bergamo-Orio al Serio. Other airfield used was Lonate Pozzolo, near Varese, and Thiene (Vicenza). Early March 1945 the new Gruppo’s leader was the Maggiore (Squadron Leader) Carlo Miani. On 26 April 1945, few days before the Germany’s surrender in Italy, the strength of the 2nd Gruppo, Orio al Serio, was 26 Bf 109.

The other ANR’s Gruppo with the German fighter was the 1st Gruppo Caccia, Squadron Leader Maggiore Adriano Visconti, Squadriglie 1st “Asso di Bastoni” (Ace of Clubs), 2nd “Vespa Arrabbiata” (Angry Wasp) and 3rd “Archiere” (Archer), which late October 1944 moved to Bavaria, at Holzkirchen, for training to Bf 109. On January 1945 the Gruppo returned in Italy and based to Lonate Pozzolo. On March 1945 was completely operative with the German fighter. The last ANR’s unit planned for the Bf 109 was the 3rd Gruppo Caccia "Francesco Baracca" established on 11 August 1944 with a Squadriglia at Vicenza and the other two at Thiene (near Vicenza). In reality this Gruppo, without airplanes, was never operative. Early January 1945 some pilots moved to Holzkirchen, but their training began only on February. End March the pilots returned in Italy, but by now the Bf 109s available for the Italians running out and only an aircraft was delivered. On 20 April two Bf 109 planned for the 3rd Gruppo was switched to 2nd Gruppo as replacement of losses and the same happened for a third Bf 109 departed from Holzkirchen on 21 April 1945. The lone 3rd Gruppo’s Bf 109 was destroyed by the unit’s personnel at the moment of the surrender

INTERNATIONAL FASHION ROMA BY E&R, SECONDA EDIZIONE /28 FEBBRAIO L’EVENTO TRASMESSO IN TV.

Nello splendore della città eterna il 28 febbraio 2021, aprirà il sipario alla seconda edizione del grande evento “International Fashion Roma” ideato da Elena Rodica Rotaru.

Una prima giornata internazionale che vedrà come protagonista il fascino della moda, del design, della bellezza e dei colori di tutto il mondo.

Una cooperazione internazionale che unisce le culture dei popoli in tutto il suo splendore. Roma e la sola città d’Italia che non abbia memoria esclusivamente municipale; tutta la storia di Roma, dal tempo dei Cesari ai giorni nostri, e la storia di una città la cui importanza si estende infinitamente al di la del suo territorio; di una città cioè destinata a essere la capitale di un grande Stato.

ROMA e la sua arte, la più bella città del mondo: Colosseo / San Pietro /Fontana di Trevi / Castel Sant’Angelo. 

Quando sono arrivata a Roma 10 anni fa, sono rimasta impressionata da mille cose: dal Colosseo, San Pietro, dal Tevere... ma soprattuto dal tramonto visto dal Gianicolo (sembra un mondo che ti racconta tutta la storia di Roma, dell’impero Romano d’Occidente (imperatore Cesare Augusto), d’Oriente (Impero Bizantino)... insomma tutte le storie passate nella Città Eterna ROMA.

Il merito è di Albio Tibullo (55 ca.-19 -18 a.C.) un poeta latino che oggi pochi conoscono, ma che al tempo era un noto autore di poemi eroici. Nel secondo libro delle Elegie, immagina un periodo molto remoto e scrive "Romulus Aeternae nondum formaverat Urbis moenia", traducibile in italiano come "Né ancora aveva Romolo innalzato le mura dell'Eterna Urbe", é questo il primo riferimento alla Città Eterna, o almeno il più antico di cui ci è arrivata traccia. Col tempo in molti hanno riutilizzato l'epiteto, contribuendo alla sua fama.         ROMA Città Eterna.

L’Evento nasce due anni fa, ideato da Elena Rodica Rotaru insieme con Liberato Mirenna. Il mio premio ‘’INTERNATIONAL FASHION‘’ è stato uno straordinario lancio nel mondo della moda, l’arte e la creatività, ho presentato questo progetto a Liberato Mirenna per organizzare insieme all’interno dell’evento Mister Tourism World. Hanno partecipato tanti stiliti di molti paesi: Italia, Romania, Africa, Libia, Marocco, Filippine, Brasile... durante la finale dell’evento gli stilisti hanno messo in esibizione l’arte, la creatività e l’amore per la cultura dei popoli, davanti al publico e ai giurati:

Per la prima volta in tempo della pandemia l’evento si svolgerà all’interno degli studi televisivi di Gold Tv e andrà in onda sul canale televisivo nazionale ODEON TV all’interno del programma “FACES” autore Giovanni Cipo e prodotto dalla CR65EVENTI di Cesare Romano e Camelia Birlan, con la direzione artistica di Elena Rodica Rotaru e sarà presentato da Barbara Castellani e Giovanni Cipo. 

Esclusivo ed elegante, lo studio sarà arredato con l’immagine di Roma Antica che con la sua atmosfera suggestiva affascina da sempre il mondo intero.

VISIBILITÀ

L’evento oltre il contest metterà in condizione gli stilisti di poter proporre le loro collezioni moda alla presenza di giornalisti, fashion blogger, fotografi specializzati attori e cantanti, oltre ad essere visto da un folto pubblico in tv e su vari social.

L’evento sarà messo in risalto da vari giornali e riviste di moda italiana e internazionale. Ogni stilista potrà esibire 10/15 capi scelti della propria collezione ed evidenziare il proprio talento non solo davanti alle telecamere, agli ospiti e ai fotoreporter ma anche davanti una giuria, la quale assegnerà il premio ”INTERNATIONAL FASHION ROMA’’.

La giuria sarà composta da giornalisti del settore, fashion blogger e vip tv. All’evento saranno presenti operatori dell’informazione, televisivi e fotografi.

Second Saint of the Day – 8 February – St Jerome Emiliani (1486–1537) Layman, Founder of the Somascan Fathers, Apostle of the poor, orphans, the sick, Catechist, Apostle of prayer – born Gerolamo Emiliani (aslo known as Jerome Aemilian, Hiëronymus Emiliani) in 1486 at Venice, Italy and died on 8 February 1537 of the plague caught whilst tending the sick. Patronages – the Somaschians, orphans, abandoned children. 

Jerome was born of one of the patrician families of Venice, the son of Angelo Emiliani (popularly called Miani) and Eleonore Mauroceni.   His father died when he was a teenager and Jerome ran away at the age of 15 to join the army.   In 1508, he participated in the defence of Castelnuovo against the League of Cambray.   He was appointed governor of a fortress in the mountains of Treviso and while defending his post was taken prisoner.

In the misery of his dungeon he invoked the great Mother of God and promised, if she would set him free, to lead a new and a better life.   Our Lady appeared, broke his fetters and led him forth through the midst of his enemies.   At Treviso he hung up his chains at her altar, dedicated himself to her service and on reaching his home at Venice devoted himself to a life of active charity.

He was then appointed podestà (Venetian magistrate) of Castelnuovo but after a short time returned to Venice to supervise the education of his nephews.   All his spare time was devoted to the study of theology and to works of charity.   In the year of plague and famine (1528), he seemed to be everywhere and showed his zeal, especially for the orphans, whose number had so greatly increased. Jerome began caring for the sick and feeding the hungry at his own expense.

He rented a house for them near the church of St Rose and, with the assistance of some pious laymen, ministered to their needs.   To his charge was also committed the hospital for incurables, founded by St Cajetan (1480 –1547).   In 1531 he went to Verona and induced the citizens to build a hospital, in Brescia, Bergamo, Milan and other places in northern Italy,  he erected orphanages, for boys and for girls.   At Bergamo, he also founded a hostel for repentant prostitutes.

Two priests, Alessandro Besuzio and Agostino Bariso, then joined him in his labours of charity and in 1532 Gerolamo founded a religious society, the Congregation of Regular Clerics.   The motherhouse was at Somasca, a secluded North Italian hamlet in the Comune of Vercurago between Milan and Bergamo, after which the members became known as Somascans.

In the Rule of this Society, Gerolamo stated the principal work of the community was the care of orphans, poor and sick and demanded that dwellings, food and clothing would bear the mark of religious poverty.   Devoted to the guardian angels, Emiliani entrusted the Company to the protection of the Virgin, the Holy Spirit and the Archangel Raphael.

The Congregation was approved in 1540 by Pope Paul III and the Order, which has as its official name “Clerici Regulares S. Majoli Papiae Congregationis Somaschae,” spread throughout Italy and the world.

Through calamities and difficulties of any kind that have developed during the four centuries of history the Somascan Order has never ceased its apostolate for the needy youth.   St Jerome has now on earth these numerous hands and arms of which he has dreamed.   His disciples have founded seminaries, houses of education, colleges, professional schools, workshops in Italy, in Switzerland, in Spain, in Central America, in Mexico, in Colombia, in Brazil and in the United States of America.   In Belgium there exists a branch of the Somascan Order, known as the “Hieronymieten” who dedicate themselves to teaching and to the care of the sick under the patronage of St Jerome Emiliani.   They are established in the Oriental Flanders, at St Nicholas-Waas, Gand, Beveren-Waas, Lokeren, Maldegem, Sleidinge, Stekene.   These religious members address to the Founder of the Congregation of the Servants of the Poor this beautiful prayer:  “Your hands were instruments of prayer and charity.   Teach us to pray and love in spirit and truth.”

During an epidemic, Jerome was assisting the sick when he contracted the plague. He died in Somasca, 8 February 1537.

He was Beatified in 1747 by Pope Benedict XIV and Canonised in 1767 by Pope Clement XIII. Below is the Founder Statue of St Jerome at St Peter’s Basilica.

The Santa Maria della Salute (Saint Mary of Health), commonly known simply as the “Salute”, is a minor basilica located at Punta della Dogana in the Dorsoduro sestiere of the city of Venice, Italy.

It stands on the narrow finger of Punta della Dogana, between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal, at the Bacino di San Marco, making the church visible when entering the Piazza San Marco from the water.   The Salute is part of the parish of the Gesuati and is the most recent of the so-called plague churches.

In 1630, Venice experienced an unusually devastating outbreak of the plague.   As a votive offering for the city’s deliverance from the pestilence, the Republic of Venice vowed to build and dedicate a church to Our Lady of Health (or of Deliverance, Italian: Salute).   The church was designed in the then fashionable baroque style by Baldassare Longhena, who studied under the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi.   Construction began in 1631.   Most of the objects of art housed in the church bear references to the Black Death and includes the statue below of St Jerome Emiliani, who before himself, dying of the Plague, assisted so many the victims and is a patron of the “Salute”.
