It all Starts with God.
Here I am again, starting to compare myself to others once more. This has to stop! Apart from the bible says that I shouldn’t be doing it, I don’t want to suffer any more. Social media is either of the 2; 1. A maker - to be encouraged to be better. 2. A breaker - to be discouraged and be jealous of what you see. And let your battle be surrendered here.
There’s so many questions running in my mind every time I see my friends’ post. I ask “How did they afford it?” “Did they win a raffle?” “Did they actually work hard and saved for it?” “How come they can afford it and I can’t?” - I am jealous of their location, I haven’t been in a different place. London is my first out of the country destination. I wanna go Maldives or somewhere the water is crystal clear and deep aqua blue like what I saw just now in Instagram. I haven’t been home in Philippines since 2014 and that holiday was a disaster. I saw my friend having fun with her cousins and relatives. I haven’t been to places in Philippines.
I would love to experience these too. But then I am here in London, unemployed because I cannot work legally. I loved my job and field before. But I guess I got too cocky. I got too relaxed. I should’ve trusted God more.
Now that I am in this position, I want to see the brighter side of my story. I would like to think that I am here because God wants me to be drawn closer to Him. And/or God wants me to have time to reflect on my actions, attitude and who I really am. He wants me to change for the better through spending time with the family and have that moment in a day where you ask yourself “What now?”
All these worries in me, I have to cast it to God. I have to learn to trust God more. Let go and let God. I can see that I need to learn how to be selfless like how Jesus was. I need to stop thinking about “just me” and start thinking of “How about them?” “How about my parents and Raina?”
A closing prayer:
“Father in Heaven, please send forth your spirit to guide me throughout the day and remind me that I need to stop comparing myself to others. Please help me to get over myself and start thinking of other people. Instead of building something for myself, start building for my loved ones. Being unemployed for more than two months now made me think, open my eyes and realise that what my parents do for me is not easy. That being able to save money for crisis is very important. Although we are still in a good place Lord God, I can’t complain. Thank you for my dad for working hard to be able to provide for our family. Thank you to our relatives and friends that helps us survive. Thank you Lord for providing for us. Everything we have is all from You. Thank you for using my Auntie Rina and all the friends around us to be your instrument in helping us through this crisis. Thank you for our daily bread Lord God. Thank you for everything. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

What on Earth Am I Here For?
Chapter 1
It all starts with God
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16(NKJV)
It’s not about you.
We ask self-centered questions like What do I want to be? What should I do with my life? What are my goals, my ambitions, my dreams for my future? But focusing on ourselves will never reveal our gin, our life’s purpose.
In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind? Job 12:10(NKJV)
You didn’t create yourself, so there is no way you can tell yourself what you were created for! Only the creator or the owner’s manual could reveal its purpose.
You exist only because God wills that you exist. You were made by God and for God- and until you understand that, life will never make sense. It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.
Life is about letting God use you for His purpose, not your using Him for your own purpose.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6 (NKJV)
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:25(NKJV)
Discover the purpose you were created for.
2 options:
Speculation- They conjecture, they guess, they theorize.
Revelation- Easiest way to discover the purpose of an invention is to ask the creator of it. The Bible is our Owner’s manual, explaining why we are alive, how life works, what to avoid, and what to expect in the future.
God is not just the starting point of your life; He is the source of it. You must build your life on eternal truths, not pop psychology, success motivation, or inspirational stories.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:11(NKJV)
3 INSIGHTS INTO YOUR PURPOSE
1. You discover your identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. God was thinking of you long before you ever thought about Him.
3. The purpose of your life fits into a much larger, cosmic purpose that God has designed for etermity.
Without God life makes no sense.
Day One Thinking about my purpose:
Point to Ponder: Its not about me.
Verse to remember: For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)
Question to Consider: How can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?
