humph; han seojun (pt 5)
click here for humph masterlist!
story: frenemies to enemies to lovers, high school au
synopsis: seojun and you have known each other since kindergarten. youâre neighbors and even attended the same singing and piano classes. despite knowing each other for such a long time, you donât enjoy spending time with seojun. even though you are aware of his unfairness, you keep spending time with him. when will you finally leave your childhood frenemy?
note: this is the last part of the series! iâm thankful for everyone who liked, commented and shared this fanfiction it really means a lot to me! through this series i gained many followers, i never imagined that this would get so many likes! again, hope you enjoy the last part and stay tuned for many other fictions hehe. humph! is a story inspired by pentagonâs âhumph! / ì ê·Œêžì§â. originally, this is a seungyeon fanfiction, which i posted on my wattpad. words: ~4k
words cannot describe your current feelings. all you can say is that everything feels unreal and odd. indeed, youâre no longer able to focus on your work. all because of that night. all because of stupidly drunk han seojun.
why did you have to pick him up? why didnât you just call someone else? thanks to his actions, you feel emotionally confused. not to mention, you are frightened to go to school.Â
can you imagine how awkward itâs going to be if seojun remembers the night? without doubt, your heart would get broken because you just know heâs going to apologize for kissing you. heâll tell you it happened because he was drunk and definitely not because he feels anything for you.
memories from that night fill your head and itâs the only thing you can think of for the rest of the weekend.Â
not until your mother forces you to visit the hanâs with her. no wonder you refuse to go, han seojun kissed you! of course, neither your mother nor your brother understand your panicked actions when you drop on your knees, hiding your face in your palms dramatically. both of them end up dragging you to the hanâs, ignoring your annoying whines.
seojunâs mum greets you with excitement when you eventually arrive at their front door. stepping in with your trembling body, you look around in paranoia, checking if seojunâs home. while doing so, you fail to notice juyeong giving you a side glance with narrowed eyes.
you: chorong please pick me up from seojunâs house
quickly you type your friend a text message before entering the living room, where gowoon waves at you happily.
kim chorong: youâre at seojunâs?!Â
kim chorong: can i guess what youâre doing ;)
your phone rings two times in a row, making all eyes land on you. laughing it off, you put your phone on mute before typing chorong a reply.
you: ew no please just save me from here okay?
the conversation between the mums continue and suddenly your brother asks if seojun is home. gowoon replies that he probably got out of the shower just now, which puts you in a panicked situation.Â
i need to get outta here
but like always, the universes loves playing with you right on time because the next thing you see is seojun walking out of his room, dressed in jeans and a hoodie, hand ruffling his wet hair. trying your best not to make eye contact, your gaze darts around the whole room.Â
after greeting your mother and juyeong, seojunâs eyes land on your awkward figure. no longer able to avoid his gaze, you look right back at seojun, cheeks turning into a red color. you canât do anything but blink since youâre extremely nervous. if he does remember everything from that night, you want to get swallowed by the floor beneath you. if he doesnât, you certainly will try your best to remain calm and unsuspicious.Â
âdo you have a moment?â, without waiting for too long seojun grabs your wrist after putting the towel away.
âf-for what?â you manage to speak as your panicked posture suddenly stiffens.
âscience project.â, the boy comes up with an average excuse while trying to ignore the surprised looks everyone is giving him as he practically drags you to his own room.
what if he knows?!
from all the heart racing, youâre sure that youâll end up in the hospital one day. it technically pounds heavily in your chest when youâre head is going through every possible answer you could give seojun when he asks you about the kiss.Â
after pulling you into his room, seojun closes the door behind you before pushing your body against it. in only seconds, his palm presses against it, right next to your face. it reminds you of the time when he questioned you about his motorcycle keys in the hallways. thankfully, his face isnât as close as back then. youâre pretty sure, you wouldâve fainted by now.
âso what about the science project, haha?â words finally leave your mouth when you realize seojun isnât going to say anything but stare at your flustered face.
âabout that...â, seojun mutters in a quiet tone as he leans in slowly. the only thing you can do is avoid his gaze while gulping, thinking that he probably remembers the kiss. yet, when he doesnât stop getting closer, lips almost touching yours, you push him away in a swift move, eyes wide in shock,
âwhat the hell!â
han seojun doesnât seem surprised. he only scratches his neck, eyes darting around his room before finally landing on your panicked figure,
âi had to do an experiment.â
âw-what experiment? are you kidding me?â
more confused than ever, you question with a flushed face. however, seojun sighs to reveal his exhaustiveness, hands hiding his face before rubbing his brow to ward off his headache,
âi- something happened friday night and i canât stop thinking about it.â
acting like you donât know what happened, you continue to look at him with confusion.
âi drank a little bit too much and canât really remember anything except for one detail- but apparently someone came to pick me up and brought me home. i asked the worker who it was and he told me it was my neighbor.â
when seojun trails off and shakes his head with furrowed eyebrows you hold yourself back from letting out a relieved sigh.Â
he doesnât know it was you. itâs like all the worries leave your body before the boy starts talking again,
âisnât that weird? i mean why would my neighbor come to get me, itâs not like iâm close to any of them. also, which neighor? he said it was a girl around your height with y/h/c hair. the only neighbor that comes to my mind is lee minji but thereâs no chance i could have kissed her.â
âyou did what?â, although knowing exactly what he did, your eyes widden in horror when you notice that he remembers the kiss but not the person. seojun realizes what he just said and tries to explain everything in a rushed tone,
âlook, i donât know why i did it. i was drunk! besides that, iâm not even sure if it was her, or anyone! what if itâs just a false memory? or a dream?â
the young boy feels like he needs to justify himself to you when he catches glimpse of the worry hiding in your eyes. han seojun doesnât want you to think that he would kiss anyone just like that. in fact, he wouldnât want to kiss anyone but you.Â
but thatâs not what youâre thinking at the moment. the only thing you can focus on is seojunâs statement leaving his mouth a few seconds ago: âi was drunk!â
of course, he was. how could you even have the smallest hope that he kissed you because he wanted to? ashamed of your expectations, you clear your throat and look away, playing with the rings on your fingers.
âoh man, that sucks!â, you chuckle falsely, âdonât worry about it too much. it could happen to anyone, you know?â
âi think about it day and night, thought.â, seojun rubs his neck, eyes fixed on the carpet on the floor.
âwhy? was it that special for you?â, laughing you push his shoulder playfully.
unexpectedly, seojun looks up to meet your eyes and blinks,
âit was.â
your heart drops. your body freezes on spot. your eyes stare into his.Â
hearing this shocked you, why was it special to him? without doubt, it was special to you too. precisely, you remember his soft lips on yours, warm touch on your face.
breaking the stare, you shake your head and look around, âjust forget about it.â
after a short silence, your eyes finally land on something certain on seojunâs desk. taking a few steps closer, you are able to take a closer look at the item. picking up the polaroid picture, you smile at the photo of you sleeping on seojunâs shoulder in the bus. your arm was wrapped around his torso, his look fixed on you.
âwhere did you get this?â, turning around with the picture still in your hands, you show it to seojun with a happy face.
âo-oh that? the others took it while you were sleeping.â
âi didnât know you had this.â
âyeah, i kinda just forgot hahahaha.â
âsure you did!â, suddenly kim chorong bursts into the room with a teasing smile,
âiâm here, y/n. but it seems like you donât need me anymore.â
âwhy are you here?â, seojun frowns.
âshe told me to come! itâs not always about you.â, sticking out this tongue, your friend shrugs and lets himself fall on seojunâs bed,
âwhat are we doing today? how about noraebang?â
_
brushing his fingers over the multiple lipsticks, seojunâs eyes focus on a certain pink one. hesitantly, he picks it up to take a closer look before putting it back to its place.
âdo they have strawberry ones?â, he asks his sister who looks for something specific. gowoon asked his brother if they could go to the mall together, since sheâs been getting into make up these days and therefore needs more products.
âwhat?â
âlike strawberry lip balms.â
âwhy do you need one?â she laughs at her brother who seems a little unsure.
âjust because!â seojun tries to hide everything when he notices his sister making fun of him.
when she eventually shows him the lip balms and heâs able to smell all of them, seojun gives up. the boy went through several lip balms but couldnât find the right one. maybe he should just give up looking for signs.
âwhy is everyone so obsessed with them? y/n owns plenty of them, itâs insane.â
juyeong, who happened to tag along with gowoon and seojun, lets out a sigh as he watches the older boy.
âshe does?â, suddenly seojun is interested in something that juyeong says.
âabsolutely. you can ask her, you know?â
âi should ask her as well! she seems to like make up!â, gowoon smiles excitedly.
although juyeong is aware of his sisterâs lack of skills in make up, he still nods almost to quickly,
âdefinitely, you should! you can come to our house since sheâs always home anyway.â
seojun no longer listens to the youngerâs conversation, but instead thinks about what juyeong said earlier.
_
running to get in class on time has become a regular thing for you. once again, your legs move in super speed in the empty hallways as you hold tight on your heavy books. not even realizing your open backpack hanging on your right shoulder, you struggle to breathe normally.Â
you become interested in your untied shoes while running and suddenly bump into someone else, because you didnât look ahead.
in a swift move the person steadies you to keep you from falling. still, your backpack drops from your shoulder and causes all of your belongings to drop on the floor.Â
too distracted from the mess that got created, you quickly kneel down to collect your books and folders,
âshoot!â you mutter, extremely stressed from the fact that youâre losing more time.
ârunning late again, zombie?â
you realize itâs han seojun when he bends down to help you pick up your stuff. after collecting some of your folders and books, his eyes focus on a certain lip balm placed next to your foot. instantly he reaches for it with a frown, your books still in his other hand.
completely stressed out, you rapidly stuff all of your supplies into your backpack and fail to notice seojun observing every small detail of your lip balm. as you finally look up, you take your books away from seojunâs grip and hold them in your hands instead of putting them back in, so that you can save some time,
âthank you.â, before you can leave seojun stands in front of you, holding your strawberry lip balm. after smelling it, he raises his eyebrows at you,
âis this yours?â
âoh, yes! thanks.â unaware of his thoughts, you take the item from his hand with a smile and put it into the pocket of your blazer.Â
and then seojun just stands there, watching you sprint to your next class.Â
heâs about to lose his mind.Â
_
patting his skin dry with a towel after washing it with cold water, seojunâs gaze darts around the schoolâs gym. his eyes look for you in the big hall filled with students, who came to watch the basketball game. the young boy is sure to have seen you sitting in the first row with lee suho during the game. however, it seems like you are nowhere to be seen. did you maybe leave with lee suho?
frustrated and tired at the same time, seojun approaches his friend kim chorong only seconds after the game,
âdo you know where y/n is?â
ây/n? iâm not quite sure. she was here during the whole game, thought.â, chorong shrugs with a small pout forming on his lips.
âhow did she leave so fast?â, seojun sighs annoyed before someone suddenly hits his back forcefully,
âif youâre looking for y/n, she just left with lee suho.â, sua tries to hide her teasing smile.
âwith lee suho? why? where did they go?â
âshe told me she lost her bracelet and wanted to find it.â, sua crosses her arms,
âtheyâre probably looking in the hallways or something.â
hearing that, seojun instantly drops his bag and runs out of the gym hall, ignoring his friendâs calls.
âyah, where are you going? weâre gonna celebrate your win!â, kim chorong yells only to turn to sua after seojun is out of his sight. they both share a smile before high fiving,
âgood job.â
âtaehoon just called me. suho left y/n. sheâs alone in the hallways, looking for that bracelet.â
âas expected, cupid team never fails.â
_
seojun slows down when he turns the next corner. finally reaching the hallway of the third floor, his steps echo in the empty area. itâs dark outside and many students already left the building right after the end of the basketball game, leaving only seojun and you in the dark hallway of the third floor.Â
eventually the young boy spots you near your classroom, searching for your bracelet with worried eyes. he notices how you run your hand through your hair, upset that you lost something so important. seojun hides behind the wall, still questioning if he should approach you. strangely, suho is not around which makes him question everything.
while thinking about leaving, seojunâs eyes land on a specific item placed right next to the plant on his right side. surprised, he picks up the flower bracelet, which he gifted you after he apologized on the last day of the school trip, and stares at it for a short while.Â
hesitantly, seojun finally steps out and approaches you with a more relaxed figure.Â
letting out a yelp, you turn around in a swift move when you feel two hands placing on your shoulders. with widen eyes you face han seojun standing only a few inches away from you. pressing a palm on your chest, you sigh in relief,
âyou scared me. again.â
âlooking for this?â, ignoring your annoyed eyes, he swings your bracelet in his right hand.
âhow- where did you find it? i was looking everywhere!â, quickly you snatch it away from him to place it around your wrist tightly, making sure it wonât slip out this time.
âis it so important that you spend hours searching in this building?â seojun rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest, âyou should go home now. itâs really late.â
âyes. it is important to me.â you mutter and glare at the boy in front of you before thanking him.
after that, suddenly silence takes over the room. you are too busy adjusting the bracelet on your wrist, while seojun only watches you with a curious gaze. he seems to be lost in his own thoughts.Â
itâs true that heâs seen you wear it every single day.
heâs also certain about the smell of your strawberry lip balm. seojun is a little bit angry at himself, for remembering every small detail of the kiss, but not the face of the person he shared it with. maybe heâs just tricking himself about it. maybe it is actually you, who he kissed that night.
thinking of the only way to find out, the boy interrupts the long silence as he puts his hand into the pocket of your blazer, taking out the specific strawberry lip balm. youâre more than surprised and freeze on spot when he places the tip of the container on your bottom lip and applies it on your lips.Â
absolutely taken aback, you fail to notice seojun taking a few steps closer to you, his body almost attached to yours now. it doesnât take him long to lift up your chin, enabling your eyes to meet his. they look into yours with so much intensity that your cheeks start glowing from the heat. once again, your heart pounds aggressively in your chest as the young boy nears his face to yours. from all your experiences till now, you feel the most nervous now. not to mention, confused from his sudden actions. (*insert âiâm the mood for dancingâ by yuju*)
last time he was drunk and didnât know what he was doing.
now heâs completely aware of his actions.
instantly you close your eyes shut, waiting impatiently for his lips to touch yours. both of you have been longing feel this feeling again, never able to get rid of the memory from friday night. seojun tilts his head slightly before finally placing his lips on your soft ones.Â
and in the exact moment, when he tastes the strawberry flavor on your lips, his heart speeds up, his hands hold your warm face, he knows itâs you. he realizes that it was you, who picked him up and you, who he kissed with so much emotion.
firmly you grip onto seojunâs t-shirt when your knees feel weak. as a result the boy only smiles against your lips before his hands move from your face to your waist, pulling you to his body. running one hand up and down your waist, he continues moving his lips against yours.
before you have the chance to move yours arms to wrap them around his neck, seojun slowly pulls away. you open your eyes to see him licking his bottom lip with a small smile. somehow youâre unable to meet his eyes when he lets out a chuckle,
âthought i wouldnât find out sooner or later?â
âh-how did you know it was me?â, you whisper, grip still tight on his shirt.
âstrawberry taste.âÂ
his simple answer surprises you, âoh, right...â
seojun caresses your face in his hands as he notices your shy tone to make you look at him,
âwhy didnât you just tell me?â
âi thought you didnât mean it since you were extremely drunk.â
âah, y/n. you havenât changed at all, have you?â
hearing seojun suddenly laugh makes you even more confused,
âwhat do you mean?â
âyouâre always so oblivious about everything like my feelings towards you.â seojun smiles at you adoringly and pushes a few strands of hair behind your ear.
âyou-â
âi like you, y/n. have been the whole time.â
âyou were always mean to me, how was i supposed to know?â, slighlty pouting, you push his shoulder playfully.
âyouâre right and iâm sorry about that. i was so focused on hiding my feelings that i didnât realize i was hurting you. i didnât want you to think that i liked you.â
âyou succeeded.â
âyeah,â seojun scratches his neck while looking into your eyes, âstill havenât gotten an answer from you, y/n.â
taking his hand, you rub the back of it before kissing his right cheek,
âi like you too, seojun.â
seojun melts. he feels his happiest and his cheeks turn into the shade of a tomato.
âlook at us. who wouldâve thought?â, you laugh at his shyness.
ânot me.â, seojun smiles before pulling you in for another kiss.
_
the cold hair hits your face as you sit on a swing while seojun pushes you. swinging your feet with a big smile on your face, you glance behind your shoulder quickly to see seojun looking at you with adoring eyes.
âhigher!â, you scream, catching the kidsâ attention on the playground for a short second.
therefore, your boyfriend pushes you with more force as he tries to hide his amused grin, âas you wish, my highness. but youâre scaring the kids away, donât you think?â
âfeels like weâre kids again.â, you remember your childhood moments with seojun.
âenough for now. when is it my turn?â, seojun pouts playfully, still pushing you on the swings.
âi said ten minutes not five, seojun.â
both of you laugh hysterically at your remark before he firmly grips on the chain of the swing, making it stop abruptly. before you can turn around to look at him with a frown, your boyfriend places a kiss on your left cheek, causing them to turn into a shade of bright pink.
âi love you.â
âi love you too, seojunnie.â
thatâs all seojun needs to hear before pushing you on the swing again, heart melting in his chest.
and in the end of the day he knows that youâll always be there for him. and you know that heâll be right there too.
_

Haiz!! Could I ask for a Tokyo revenger character match up?
I'm a 16 year old female who stands at 5 ft. I'm a Sagittarius and INTP-T. I'm pansexual/questioning but I don't have much of a preference.
My personality I'm a sort of ambivert leaning more on introvert side. I'm outgoing when I'm talking with my friends and depending on the day and where I am I can be really social, I guess u can say I know how to fake being social? I can say I'm bold with doing stuff on my own or with friends but not to other people. Like if someone asked me to try and climb a brick wall to the roof because they tossed their shoe on the roof I will (and have) but I can't for the life of me tell someone I like their shirt if ion know them. Under stress I react in 2 ways the first way I'm either really quiet and am scanning in my head or mumble all the ways on what to do about the situation I'm stressed about or the second way is me just stress cursing, which may sound like I'm mad or sumthin cause people have told me when I curse it's very aggressive.
I'm quite temperature sensitive especially during summer as my friends say. One minute I'd complain it's hot and a minute after we turn on the ac I'd complain it's cold, it's a problem I know. I have a low level of germophobia as in I sometimes can't stand to touch certain things like door handles or sit comfortably in the school cafeteria tables or the classroom seats that at one point I started to clean them. I struggle a lot when I type like ALOT that sometimes my words come out like this aonomw which would be someone or other times would be like this pan5h34 (panther) or I'd have trouble typing words like table and have to keep texting it till I get it right or give up. I also forget words exist like cake, or light switch ect. I'm also really competitive and have one sided competition that the other persondoesn't know about.
I'm very optimistically realistic yet also look at the bad side of things. Like I'd be like thinking of the good side of things then I'd think of the bad and it's just be a roller coaster of me loudly mumbling then yelling and rolling on the floor of why I thought of the bad. I also have ALOT of theories that I love to tell to those who I'm close with, I make a new theory every night. I also have all of weird 3 am thoughts but during the day.
Aesthetically I'm all over the place I mostly wear sweats or leggings with a jacket or hoodie because lowkey am insecure bout my body BUT I'm working on it. I usually have my hair down doing whatever it wants but when I want to style it I have it half up and half down with my bangs loosely curled.
My hobbies is mostly just reading books like novels, manhwas, mangas or watching anime. I like to play videogames especially with friends I mostly like to play first shooter games like COD, or horror multiplayer games, or also those tapping games just to pass the time. I also like to sing to music or practice singing and dancing to like kpop songs or I'd try and make choreos sumtime.
(*ËáË*)á”áá”áąá” á”á”á” for taking the time to read this, I'm sorry if it's too long I kinda got carried away đ
. If you end up doing this request take ur time, thank you and take care of urself.
Please bare with me on this one! There is a reason and it's mostly headcanon-y đ
â€ïž
You shall be matched with...
South Terano â€ïž
Outside of the gang, I see South as being really caring and a softie for the person who had stolen his heart. A complete 180 from canon Terano. This is a personal headcanon and other headcanons are available.
So, back to the match-up. South had met you in a music store while he was searching for more classical records. Considering you were shorter than him, it was surprising that you had caught his eye but you had and now he couldn't take them off you.
It was as you entered the aisle that South occupied that he had decided to introduce himself. You were a little intimidated by the tattoos decorating his face but as he started a conversation about music, you slowly got more comfortable. The entire interaction had resulted in the tall blond getting your number and arranging a hang out for the next day. To say he was excited was an understatement.
Your first date would be a simple cafe trip since he felt a neutral place like that would be the best. After all, there was a minimal amount of background noise so he could ask you about yourself as much as he pleased, but it was also not entirely boring where he would struggle to entertain you when awkward moments arose. The entire hang out had you falling slowly for South and you were quick to agree to a second date.
A relationship with South is one where you feel protected. He hadn't told you he was the leader of a.gang until he felt you could handle the information. You were a little nervous around him at first but this quickly dissolved back to the normal comfortable interactions you were so used to.
South won't ever admit it, but he finds you adorable all the time. Like, he enjoyed the way you would mutter to yourself when you were deep in thought, how your texts could sometimes be full of typos, but he especially loved how you would tell him about all the theories you thought up of about anything. This boy would sit and listen with the biggest smile as he watched the way your eyes lit up as you explained the newest idea you had. His heart would melt and he would find it hard to not gather you up in his arms with how cute you were!
Once this boy finds out about your aversion to touching surfaces because of the germs, he would make sure you were comfortable at all times. Opens the doors for you, places his jacket on a seat so you can sit down, even carrying a pack of antibacterial wipes in his pockets at all times. No-one in Rokuhara Tandai knew about this and he would definitely keep it that way. After all, he is a feared leader. He didn't want to seem weak in front of those that follow him.
No-one can tell me that this boy does not game when he is at home relaxing. First person shooters are his go to as he feels this best relieves his stress. So finding out you also enjoyed playing video games, he would 100% play any game with you. Even bought a second controller so he always had one in his home for you.
It was by accident that South had heard you sing and saw you dance. He had come over to visit and you had lost track of the time. So once he had reached your door and opened it slightly, he had seen you lost in your music. South found the sight breathtaking and had decided to watch from the doorway until you finally noticed him. Would encourage you to continue the 'show' for him, a smirk dancing on his lips.

Season 1, Episode 10: Co-Captain
Hey there beautiful reader! If youâre new here, this is a series Iâm writing where each chapter is an episode from the first season of Teen Wolf. If youâve been here before, hey! I missed you! Previous and future chapters are linked at the end of each part if you want to catch up.
Pairing: Stiles x Psychic! Reader (eventually)
Notes: I somehow forgot that Deaton existed until I wrote this. My bad guys, but heâs not really that relevant in the first season anyway so...
P.S. Kate needs a therapist, Sheriff Stilinski is kinda bad at his job, and so many people almost die. Seriously, itâs getting ridiculous at this point.
                          ââââââââ
Lydia huffed in annoyance, struggling to keep up behind me in her high heeled boots. The ground crunched with each quick step I took, the dirt barely visible through a thick layer of dried leaves. I pulled the sides of my jacket tighter around my sides, feeling a chill run up my spine as a gust of cold air blew against me.
âAllison. When you said you needed to run an errand before we went shopping, a five mile hike in the woods was not what I was expecting.â Lydia had been complaining nonstop since we got here, and didnât seem likely to give up anytime soon.
Weâd been walking through Beacon Hills Preserve for at least ten minutes by now, Allison leading us with a big bag slung over her shoulder. She seemed aggravated, practically running with a tense look on her face. I had no idea what the hell we were doing. Sheâd been acting weird all week, more angry and on edge than usual.
We were supposed to be shopping for winter formal dresses at the mall. Lydia had been begging us to go all week, since the dance is next Friday. I kept dodging her invitation because there were just so many other things going on right now.
Me and the guys had spent the week trying to figure out where Peterâs been hiding, while keeping Jackson from spilling the werewolf beans to the whole school every time he got pissy.
I wasnât sure who either of them were taking to the dance, and I honestly didnât care much. I wasnât planning on going. No one had asked me, and stuff like that wasnât really my thing anyway. I definitely wasnât annoyed that a certain spastic boy hadnât even mentioned it yet. Not at all.
âBefore I forget, I wanted to ask if youâre okay with something.â Allison quipped, not even bothering to turn around and look at us. âJackson asked me to winter formal.â
My eyes widened and swept toward Lydia quickly to see her reaction. I wasnât expecting that, even though the two of them had been incredibly flirty lately. It was obvious that Allison still had feelings for Scott, and Lydia for Jackson, so the whole thing was just a big mess.
âDid he?â She tried to sound unaffected as she nearly stumbled over a rock. My arm instinctively stuck out to steady her, and she sent me a small, grateful smile.
âJust as friends, but I wanted to make sure you were okay with it first.âÂ
Lydia pursed her glossed lips tightly and flicked a lock of hair away from her eyes. Her gloved hands tightened into fists at her sides. âSure. As long as itâs just friends.â
Allison scoffed quietly, seemingly annoyed. I quirked a brow at her back in curiosity. Yeah, she and Lydia had a bit of a love hate relationship, but stealing her boyfriend was a little over the top. Something was clearly bothering her. Iâd been trying to figure it out for days, but she never wanted to talk about it when I asked.
She stopped suddenly, and I nearly toppled over as I narrowly avoided running into her. Her bag dropped onto the leaf covered ground with a thud before she knelt down to unzip it. Lydia and I both watched in curious silence as she pulled out a huge bow and inspected it carefully.
It looked like something a professional would own. Iâd nearly forgotten that she was into archery as a kid, but that thing was intense. Plus, why she felt the need to do this right now, on a Saturday afternoon while we were supposed to be shopping, I had no idea. She popped back to her feet quickly and screwed a big cylindrical arrowhead onto her arrow.
âWhat does that do?â Lydia shivered beside me and crossed her arms tightly as another gust of wind blew past us.
âWeâre about to find out.â Allison muttered, more to herself than us, as she strung the bow.
She turned her back to us and raised her arms up beside her head. I watched closely as she narrowed her eyes and scanned the area for a good target. After a moment of wobbling, she let out a breath and squared her shoulders. Then, she let go.
The arrow whizzed through the air with a zip before landing in a tree a few yards away, immediately exploding with a bright waterfall of sparks.
I jumped back, not expecting that at all. âWhat the hell was that?â
That was not an ordinary arrow. I wondered for a moment how she even got it. It was most likely her dadâs, so she either stole it or knew way more about her family than she was letting on.
She dropped her arms with a jerk and whipped around to face us, her eyes glassy. Their hard edge had disappeared entirely, replaced now with something close to fear. âI need to tell you guys something. Itâs going to sound really ridiculous and I-I donât want you to laugh at me.â
Her sudden change in demeanor was a little jarring. It seemed like this was coming out of nowhere. I glanced at Lydia, who was doing a terrible job of hiding the fact that she thought she was completely crazy.
âWe would never laugh at you.â I narrowed my eyes at Lydia, silently pleading with her to be nice. She just pouted and looked at Allison expectantly.
âItâs about my family.â Allison let out a heavy breath and wiped at her eyes. âAwhile ago, I caught them in a lie. A little one. But now, Iâve been overhearing some really strange conversations. I think...I think some of it has to do with Derek.â
âDerek?â I sputtered, my breath catching in my throat at his name. Iâd learned earlier this week that he was, in fact, alive after our encounter with Peter. Theyâd both shown up at school a few days ago to intimidate Scott into joining their pack, which was honestly so much worse.
I let out a sigh and cleared my throat. âI mean, are you sure?â
She nodded, glancing around the trees as if he could be spying on us right now. âYeah. I donât think he is who heââ
She suddenly stopped, her whole body stiffening as something rustled in the leaves nearby. I watched her closely as she looked from side to side, wondering if something happened that she wasnât telling me about. She was acting so jumpy and weird.
âHold this.â She absentmindedly handed her bow to Lydia, who balanced it on her upturned palms as if one wrong move would set it off.
âWhat? Why?â Her emerald eyes widened in horror.
âBecause I thought I heard something.â Allison whispered harshly, as if that would help the situation at all.
She turned her back to us and took a few timid steps forward.
âAllison,â I sighed, moving toward her. It was probably nothing. And if it wasnât, she shouldnât be the one going to investigate. âIâm sure itââ
She turned around just long enough to shush me before continuing on her way. I paused, my lips parting in surprise. Did she really just do that?
I stood in place, my eyes firmly planted on her back until she turned a corner, disappearing among the trees. I was ridiculously confused by her sudden personality change. Up until this week, sheâd been terrified of anything even remotely out of the ordinary. Especially after we spent that night in the school.
âSheâs being weird. Right?â Lydia breathed from beside me, still standing completely still and holding the bow gingerly.
I nodded, eyes narrowing in the direction sheâd gone. I guess there was a chance the noise was something supernatural, but we were in the woods. It couldâve been anything and was most likely harmless. Still, part of me wanted to go after her and make sure she was okay.
âVery.â I moved to walk away, but stopped when Lydiaâs panicked voice sounded from behind me.
âUm, absolutely not. You are not leaving me alone with this thing.â Her wide eyes glanced down at the bow apprehensively.
âOh, for Godâs sake...â I stepped toward her, quickly plucking it from her hands, and she visibly relaxed with a heavy sigh.
I couldnât help but roll my eyes as I dropped it on top of Allisonâs bag. She was always so dramatic. I motioned for her to follow me and continued forward. Allison couldnât have gotten far yet, so I figured weâd find her pretty quickly.
I rounded a corner and immediately staggered to a stop as my eyes landed on Allison only a few feet away. She was crouched on the ground hugging Scott, who looked like heâd just fallen or something. His eyes found mine and immediately widened as he shook his head frantically with a wave of his hand.
I whirled around and nearly ran right into Lydia. Her eyes narrowed into a glare as I grabbed her biceps and jerked her the other way. I had no idea what he was even doing here, but I didnât want to ruin their moment. Heâd been trying to get back on her good side, and apparently it was working if what I just saw was any indication.
âY/N, what the hell is wrong with you?â Lydia snapped, turning her head to try and see what I was taking us away from.
âUh. It was a...wolf.â I cringed at my pathetic attempt at lying. Iâd always been complete shit at it.
She gave up on tying to see what it was and let me continue pushing her forward, but still glanced at me as if Iâd lost my mind. âThere havenât been wolves in Beacon Hills inââ
âSixty years. I know.â I let out a huff as we made it back to Allisonâs bag, and finally released her.
If only she knew how wrong she was.Â
                         âââââââââ
I crossed my arms over my chest impatiently, watching as Stiles fumbled with his house key for several seconds before finally managing to push it into the doorknob. He was always such a spaz, no matter what he was doing.
We didnât have much time, but in my experience, Stiles and rushing donât mix well. We were only stopping here so that he could grab his laptop before we met up with Scott at his house. The three of us were trying our hardest to find a pattern in the people Peter was trying to turn, so that we could hopefully stop him before he kills anyone else.Â
âWhy would Jackson want to be a werewolf?â I asked slowly, not fully believing what he'd just told me.
He turned around long enough to twitch his eyes at me incredulously before facing the door again. âBecause itâs Jackson.â
I mean, fair enough.Â
Iâd been delivering dinner for mom at the hospital when Scott texted us that he wanted to meet up. Stiles came to get me, since she would need the car to get home in the morning. On the way here, heâd filled me in on his and Scottâs afternoon.
The three of us had a new policy: no more secrets, and no more lies.Â
They decided to follow Jackson after school because they still donât trust him and also, theyâre nosy as hell. Apparently, he didnât make it far before being cornered by Mr. Argent, so it was a good thing they have no concept of healthy boundaries. The fact that they saved his ass didnât stop him from threatening to out Scottâagainâif he doesnât give him what he wants.
Stiles also casually mentioned that the Argents are actively trying to kill the alpha and his beta, who they think could be Scott, Jackson, or Derek.Â
Things were a shitshow, basically.
Stiles popped his front door open and I trailed in behind him. My eyes immediately landed on his dad, who was sitting at their dining room table surrounded by various documents. Stiles perked up at the sight and practically ran to his side.
âWhatcha doinâ?â He sang, peering down at the mountain of papers.
âWork.â Mr. Stilinski muttered curtly, his brows furrowing as he scribbled something down onto a notepad.
âAnything I can help with?â Stilesâ voice rose eagerly as his eyes continued flickering around the table.
His dad let out a long sigh and rubbed a hand across his forehead. It looked like he hadnât gotten a good nights sleep in days. âYou know, if you poured me an ounce of whiskey, thatâd be awful nice.â
Stiles jerked upright and nearly bolted to the kitchen. I just stood in place by the door, watching him curiously. It was like heâd completely forgotten that we were supposed to be doing something. He had a tendency to be forgetful, especially when stressed. Iâd say he was pretty wired lately, since he could barely go a minute without worrying about Scott and all his werewolf issues.Â
He reappeared in the doorway a few seconds later, the bottle of alcohol and a shot glass in hand, and quickly pulled out a chair next to his dad. I decided to join them because I was honestly really curious about what he was working on. Plus, getting Stiles back on track usually took a lot more effort than I was willing to give right now.Â
âAny leads?â He put the stuff onto the table and picked up the closest paper to him.
âHey.â Mr. Stilinski swatted his hand away before wagging a pencil disapprovingly. Stiles cried out dramatically and rubbed at his fingers. âYou know I canât discuss that with you.â
âWhat about with me?â I slid into a free chair on the other side of the table, my lips pulling up into a teasing smile. It instantly dropped at the unamused stare he gave me.Â
Okay. Do not joke with a tired Sheriff. Got it.Â
I cleared my throat and glanced at Stiles for help, only to find that he was already looking at me, an amused smile twitching at the edges of his lips. He was trying to be discreet about it, so his dad wouldnât see, and it was ridiculously adorable.Â
He sagged back into his chair with a sigh. âSon, the last thing I need right now is you and your girlfriend shoving your noses into my classified investigation, so if you could justââ
My heart nearly stopped beating in my chest at his words. I looked at Stiles with wide eyes, but he was too busy sputtering silently toward his dad to notice. âUh, we arenâtââÂ
We still hadnât talked about that. Sure, weâve kissed a few times, but we havenât gone on a proper date or anything yet, and he didnât even ask me to the dance. As far as I was concerned, we were...friends? That sometimes kiss?
âYeah. No. We-we havenât...â He rushed the words out as he finally remembered how to talk, his cheeks turning bright pink.
âLook. I donât care.â His dad sighed before sliding his glasses off and massaging his temples. âJust please go do...anything else.â
âAlright. Fine.â Stiles started pouring a shot of the whiskey, his eyes widening after a moment as if an idea dawned on him. He kept going until the glass was almost full before sliding it across the table. âBottoms up.â
He got up just as quickly as heâd sat down, striding around the table to take my hand in his. I nearly tripped over my own feet as he pulled me out of my chair and up the stairs quickly. He shoved his bedroom door open before practically throwing me inside and slamming it behind us.Â
I just stared at him with wide eyes as he leaned back against it with a sigh.Â
âI didnât want him to notice what I did.â He glanced at me fleetingly before pushing himself off the door and walking briskly toward his desk.Â
I swear, he never slows down.Â
âWhich is...?â I drawled, turning around to watch him dig through each of the wooden drawers.Â
He tongue swept across his bottom lip in concentration. My eyes followed the movement, my own lip rolling between my teeth. I was always surprised that he could manage to make even the smallest things attractive. âIâm gonna get him drunk. He talks a lot when heâs drunk.â
âSo thatâs how you know so much about police stuff.â I wandered over to his bed and plopped down, figuring I might as well get comfortable if we were going to be in here for awhile.
He stopped rummaging through his stuff to frown at me. âYou say that like itâs a bad thing.â
âManipulating a Sheriff into giving you classified information? That oneâs not exactly north on the moral compass.â I dragged my toes along the hardwood floors and leaned back on my palms.
He rolled his eyes and turned back to the desk, searching for another few seconds before letting out a frustrated huff. He practically slammed the last drawer closed. One of his hands came up to scratch at the side of his head as he turned and let his eyes flicker around the room.Â
âWhere the hell did I leave that thing?â He muttered, more to himself than me.
He suddenly perked up, as if remembering something, and took a few big steps toward the bed. He bent down in front of me and started moving his blankets around. I leaned to the side in an effort to give him more room, since it seemed like he somehow forgot I was sitting right here. My eyes flickered over his face, which was only a few inches away from mine.Â
The window beside his bed let in just enough light to perfectly illuminate his freckled skin. It reflected off of his eyes, making them look like molten amber. His nose was scrunched adorably in concentration as he weaved around me to look for the laptop. He suddenly stopped fidgeting and moved back slightly.Â
âAh ha! Got ya, you little...â He trailed off as his eyes met mine. He froze, as if only just then realizing how close we were.Â
I stole a glance at his lips before deciding to close the distance between us. It was hard to think about anything else but kissing him when he was this close. My hands moved up to the sides of his face and I tugged him those last few inches closer. When my lips slanted over his, he stiffened against me, as if caught off guard. The contact only lasted a few seconds before he pulled back with with shaky breath.Â
I took one look at his stunned expression and erupted into a fit of giggles.Â
âWhat?â He frowned and moved away, his eyes searching mine.
âWhy do you always kiss me like you think Iâm going to punch you in the face right after?â I chuckled and let my hands drop back down to my lap.
It looked like he was about to argue as his mouth opened and closed a few times. He eventually just dragged his tongue against the inside of his cheek and sighed in defeat. âI justâuh. I want you to be comfortable, and I donât want you to think that I want you to do something that you donât want to do.â
My brows furrowed as I tried to figure out what the hell he just said.Â
âIâm gonna go check on my dad.â He jerked up to his full height and rubbed at the back of his neck before practically running out the door.Â
I watched it bounce off the wall from the force heâd used to open it, and shook my head in amusement. I wasnât sure how he still managed to be such a spaz around me after all this time, but Iâd be lying if I said it wasnât endearing as hell. After a few seconds, I wandered out of his room and down the stairs to join him.
âYou know, Derek Hale would be a haleââ My eyes landed on Mr. Stilinski, still sitting in the same position weâd left him in, as he stopped slurring for a moment to chuckle at his own slip up. âA hell of a lot easier to catch if we could get an actual picture of him.â
Stiles was sitting in the spot beside him again, already nose deep in some document. I padded over to the table and slid into the empty chair on the other side of the table. I finally processed his words and looked at him in question. They didnât have a single picture of Derek? Heâd been arrested at least two separate times now. How was that possible?
âHow do you not have a picture of him?â Stilesâ eyebrows pinched as he voiced my thoughts perfectly.
His dad peeled a small piece of paper off the table and studied it as if it held a code he had yet to decipher. âItâs the weirdest thing. Itâs like, every time I try to get a mugshot, thereâs like two laser beams pointing at the camera...â
Stiles ripped the picture out of his hands and inspected it closely. I leaned over the table to get a look, my eyes widening at what I saw. It was definitely Derek, but only a fraction of his face was visible through the two bright circles that took up most of the shot.
âNice.â I breathed before sitting back down, honestly impressed. That was a pretty cool trick and could probably come in handy later on.
âOh my God.â Mr. Stilinski groaned and slid his glasses off before leaning back in his chair and rubbing his hands down his face. âThat ounce hit me like a brick. Iâve said way too much, and if you repeat any of this...â
âDad. Itâs me. Iâm not gonna say anything. Come on.â Stiles scoffed and put the picture down, as if his dad questioning him at all was offensive.
The Sheriffâs eyes swept toward me and I swallowed, feeling nervous under his intense gaze. It was like he couldnât turn off the whole cop thing. Or maybe he just really didnât like me. I looked away from him and picked up a nearby file to distract myself.
âAnd Y/N, sheâs ya know, trustworthy...too.â A frown pulled at my lips. That stuttering mess made me sound anything but. How did he still manage to be awkward even in front of his own dad?
âSee, the thing is, theyâre all connected.â Mr. Stilinski started, that jumble of words apparently enough to convince him to continue. âThe bus driver that was killed was the insurance investigator assigned to the Hale house fire.â
My eyes widened as I realized I was looking at that very manâs file. I flitted through the pages quickly, looking for anything relevant.Â
âTerminated under suspicion of fraud.â I read the words slowly, wondering if it had anything to do with the fire.
I glanced up toward Stiles, who fidgeted in his seat uncomfortably before moving his attention to his dad. âAlright. Who else?â
âThe video store clerk who got his throat slashed? A convicted felon with a history of arson.âÂ
âWhat about the other two guys? The ones in the woods?â My eyes swept back to Stiles quickly. Iâd nearly forgotten about them. They were âmysteriouslyâ killed the night Stiles took Scott into the preserve to get drunk after Allison broke up with him.Â
âPriors all over their records. Includingââ
âArson?â I quipped, putting the pieces together easily.
Every single murder was connected to the Hale house fire. But why?
He breathed out a heavy sigh and let the papers he was holding flutter back down to the table. âThereâs just so many questions. I mean, if Derek wanted to kill everyone involved with the fire, why start with his sister? She didnât have anything to do with it. You know, why make it look like some kind of animal did it?â
Stiles looked away from him, his jaw clenching. His eyes flickered to mine fleetingly before moving down to his fingers as he tapped them on the edge of the table, his brows furrowing.
âAnd, when that cougar showed up in the parking lot, I checked with animal control. Did you know that the incidents of wild animal reports are up seventy percent over the last few months? Itâs like theyâre just going crazy and running out of the woods.â
It was in that moment, as I saw him so confused and dejected, that a heavy wave of realization crashed down onto my shoulders. Allison wasnât the only one being hurt by the secrets in Beacon Hills. Not even close. There were so many layers to the problems that all of this shit had created. I hadnât even considered how it would effect people like Stilesâ dad.Â
But it made total sense. Of course, how would they solve any of these cases without the most important piece? Heâd run himself into the ground trying to figure out the impossible. Until he knew about the supernatural aspect, he wasnât going to make any progress. The thought made my heart twist uncomfortably in my chest.
I finally realized how much it was weighing on Stiles, too. It was clear that it pained him not to tell his dad everything. His jaw was tight as Mr. Stilinski rambled on about the unknown, his lips rolled into a thin line. He couldnât sit still for more than a few seconds, and he kept fidgeting with his fingers.Â
It dawned on me then, too, that he wasnât just complacent in all the lying like I thought this whole time. He was a caretaker. He quite literally couldnât help but try to protect everyone around him all at once. I had a feeling that even if Scott said it was okay to tell his dad everything, he still wouldnât.
âOr somethingâs scaring them out.â Stiles finally sighed, looking defeated.Â
Just then, both of our phones dinged with a notification. I pulled mine out of my pocket, brows furrowing at the somewhat incoherent text weâd gotten from Scott.
Mom. Date. PETER!
A second later, another message came through.
MY MOM IS ON A DATE WITH PETER. FREAKING OUT. HELP.
Holy shit. What? That is beyond bad. Thatâs so fucking terrible I canât even put it into words.Â
My eyes jerked up when Stilesâ chair scraped against the hardwood floors loudly. He bolted to his feet and practically ran around the table, grabbing my arm in the process. He muttered something about us having to be somewhere over his shoulder, but his dad was too far gone to think twice about our quick departure anyway.
We scrambled out the door and into his Jeep, peeling out of the driveway as I recited the address and license plate Scott had sent over. Neither of us said a word as he sped to the other side of town.
After several tense minutes, I spotted the car up ahead. My eyes widened as I realized that it was parked on the side of the road. That couldnât be good. I saw the silhouette of a man in the driverâs seat, but couldnât find anyone else inside.Â
Oh, God. I hope we arenât too late. Â
âThere.â I said, pointing at the car. Stiles immediately veered off the road, but he wasnât slowing down. I put my hands on the dash for support and looked over at him frantically. âUh...Stiles?â
I lurched forward, my seatbelt digging into my shoulder as he slammed into the rear bumper of the car. My jaw dropped in shock as smoke started pouring out from under the Jeepâs hood, which was now bent.Â
The passenger door in front of us popped open, a very angry looking Ms. McCall tumbling out. âOh, God! Stiles!â
Well, at least she was still alive.
âMs. McCall?â He scrambled out of the Jeep, looking flustered despite doing that very much intentionally.Â
âYes!â She threw her hands up in exasperation as she walked around to survey the damage.Â
âWow. Well, this is just crazy. What a coincidence!â Stiles chuckled nervously as he met her between the cars.Â
I threw my door open and slid out, immediately shivering as the freezing night air wafted over my skin. My head tilted up to the sky as it started sprinkling. Great. Thatâs just what we need right now. I came to a stop beside Stiles, crossing my arms tightly over my chest to hold in of my warmth.
âI-I really donât know what happened. You guys came out of nowhere.â He let out a huff and put his hands on his hips, eyes twitching as he raised his eyebrows, hoping she would buy the excuse.Â
âCame out of nowhere? We were parked on the side of the road, Stiles!â Yeah, she so wasnât believing any of this for a second.Â
âHow crazy is that?â His voice rose with panic as Peter came striding toward us, looking equally as unamused. âMan, we should probably call the cops. Do like an accident report or something?â
âI donât think thatâs necessary.â Peter drawled, shoving his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. What was with the Haleâs and leather? Was it a fashion statement? A werewolf thing? Or did they just not own anything else?
Either way, being this close to him was making my skin crawl.
âAre you sure?â One of Stilesâ eyes squinted shut as he lifted a hand to rub at the back of his neck with a forced grimace. âI think Iâm feeling a little bit of whiplash.â
âWhiplash?â It looked like Ms. McCall was going to injure him herself as her voice became sharp with frustration. âYou hit us!â
Peter suddenly turned his back to us and began muttering something under his breath. I peered around Ms. McCallâs shoulder and watched as he seemingly talked to himself. My brows furrowed in confusion and I pulled my phone out of my pocket. As I suspected, there was a new text from Scott saying that he was here a few minutes ago.Â
I looked around, but couldnât find him anywhere. My eyes landed on Peter again as he continued taking slow steps away from us. He was clearly talking to Scott, who would be able to hear him from a good distance away. But where was he?
âYou know what, I seriously canât do this right now.â Ms. McCall threw her hands up and walked back to the car with a huff.Â
Without thinking too hard about it, I started walking toward Peter. I wanted to know what he was saying, and what the hell he thought he was doing by going after Scottâs mom. If I stopped for even a second I wouldâve realized how epically stupid that was, but at the current moment I was too angry to care. For some reason, putting a human face to the alpha had made him just a little less scary.Â
I only made it a few steps before a firm hand on my wrist stopped me. I turned to see Stiles staring at me with wide eyes. âAre you out of your freakinâ mind?â
At the touch of his skin on mine, I suddenly felt like the earth shifted beneath my feet. I staggered back a step, a gasp escaping me as a vivid image of Scott flashed in my mind. The only thing I could see was his face, scrunched into a pained grimace.
Stiles ripped his hand away and I was dropped harshly back into the present. âWhoa. What? What?â
I stumbled to the side, feeling lightheaded, and met his wide eyes. He stared at me with parted lips, his eyebrows raised in shock. The vision had come and gone too fast for me to see what was going on, but I knew it couldnât be good as my stomach tightened uncomfortably.
âDo that again.â I rushed the words out in one breath. âTouch me again.â
He stammered silently for a few seconds, his confused eyes searching mine. I jutted my arm out toward him expectantly and he rolled his lips into a thin line, looking uneasy. After a few moments of hesitation, he slowly wrapped his hand around my wrist again.Â
My eyes fluttered closed as the image of Scot instantly returned. I could no longer feel the rain on my face or the chill of the night air. I was just looking down at Scott, watching as he writhed around on the leaf covered ground, a wet stain on his shirt just below his heart slowly expanding.
A thick liquid stained his lips and chin. It looked like blood, but was almost black. He took in a hoarse breath, his chest heaving from the effort.
Suddenly, my eyes snapped open with a jolt. I nearly toppled over as my legs gave out under me. Stiles wrapped his hands around my biceps and studied with me a hard look. I blinked at him a few times, trying to get my eyes to refocus.
âIâm sorry, but I had to stop. It looked like you were in pain. What the hell was that?â His voice was tight with concern as his eyes flickered around my face.
I rubbed a hand against my chest in an effort to steady my breathing. My head pounded harshly as I looked around, trying to convince myself that I was actually back in the present.Â
âWe need to go. Right now.â I made a move toward the Jeep, but Stiles stood firmly in place, stopping me easily.Â
He gave me a hard look and shook me slightly as he spoke. âOkay. Youâre really starting to freak me out. Whatâs going on right now?â
âIâll explain on the way. Just...please. Trust me.â His eyes twitched as he swallowed slowly. I tried my hardest to silently convey how serious this was. If we were going to make it to Scott before whatever the hell that was happened, we needed to go. Now.Â
He hesitated a moment, looking at me as if he wasnât convinced of my sanity, but eventually nodded in agreement. I let out a breath of relief, casting a final quick glance at Ms. McCall and Peter as I climbed into the Jeep. I was nervous about leaving her with him, but right now Scott was the priority.Â
I just hoped we would get there in time.Â
                        âââââââââ
I squinted through the darkness, using my phoneâs flashlight to help illuminate our path as we walked through the woods. It was nearly midnight now, the sun long gone. I was starting to lose hope that we would find Scott. It looked like he was somewhere in the preserve during my vision, but we had yet to run into a single other living thing yet. With each passing minute, it seemed more and more likely that I was actually just crazy.
âSo Iâm your anchor? Me. Stiles.â He asked from beside me, for the third time in ten minutes.
I sighed, pulling his jacket tighter against me as a gust of wind brushed along the back of my neck. Heâd given it to me without hesitation when we got out of the car, already assuming Iâd be cold. Since we had nothing else to do while looking for Scott, I told him about what I saw by the cars and explained how Derek helped me with my visions last week.Â
He wasnât happy, to put it mildly. He probably hated the guy more than any of us, and had since let me know how much he despised the idea of me being alone with him. Repeatedly.Â
âDonât go getting a big head about it.â I quipped, mostly joking. âIâm sure I could pick a new one if I wanted to.â
He stopped walking and looked over at me, utterly offended. When he leaned forward to narrow his eyes, I noticed something over his shoulder. I took a big step toward him and shoved his head out of the way quickly.
âHey! What the hell wasââ
âOh my God.â My heart instantly started hammering in my chest as I saw a crumpled figure a few feet ahead. âScott!â
As I sprinted toward him, I heard a low, pained groan. Within seconds, I fell onto my knees beside him. His eyes were fluttering as he stared vacantly up into the sky and clutched his injured side. My hands twitched in the air above him, wanting to help but having no idea what to do. Thick smoke started pouring out between his fingers, and I reeled back in disgust.Â
Stiles scrambled to his other side a moment later, wide eyes flickering back and forth between Scott and I as if he couldnât believe that I was right. Honestly, I couldnât either.
âAllison...â Scott choked the word out, barely able to get a breath in.Â
âSeriously?â I shouted urgently as panic surged through me. âYouâre literally dying and thatâs all you can say? What the hell happened?â
âDerek...Jackson was...â He sputtered and coughed, thick blood oozing from his mouth.
I groaned in frustration. This whole gasping out one word at a time thing was not working for me. I looked up at Stiles desperately. âWe have to do something.â
âUh. Right. Okay...â I could practically see the gears turning in his head as his eyes flickered around spastically before finally coming back to mine. âThe clinic. We have to take him to the clinic.â
âWhat?â I breathed, surprised by the suggestion.Â
âJust, come on. We donât have much time.âÂ
We both draped each of Scottâs arms over our shoulders and started dragging him back the way we came. I was obviously Incredibly freaked out because he was dying right in front of us, but I was angry, too. I was so mad at myself for not being able to see this sooner. If I had control over my visions, we couldâve been here before he even got hurt. I couldnât help but feel partially to blame for the whole thing.Â
Within minutes we were barreling through the vet clinicâs doors. We came in using the garage, the same way Scott had told us to when Derek was in this same position. It was obvious that heâd been shot with a bullet covered in wolfâs bane, since he wasnât healing at all. Stiles and I dropped him onto one of the metal operating tables the second we got in the room.
He was passed out cold at this point. I bent over to rest my hands on my knees, my chest heaving with labored breaths. He was heavy as shit, and Stiles and I arenât exactly the peak of fitness. After I caught my breath, I stood up straight and immediately froze at the sight of Deaton in the doorway.
He was just standing there, observing us curiously. We were so screwed. He could charge us with breaking and entering, at the very least. Plus, Scott was laying on his table with a bullet hole in his chest. There was absolutely no way to explain this, and we didnât have time anyway.
âUh...â I stammered, not sure what to say.Â
âRemove his shirt.â Deaton said slowly, his eyes firmly planted on Scott as he walked across the room.Â
Stiles and I exchanged a quick glance, but did as he said. I grimaced and reared back as I saw the bullet wound properly for the first time. It was still discharging that weird smoke and was oozing a thick, nasty looking black liquid. Deaton returned to the table with a pair of long tweezers, gauze, and a small jar. He looked strangely calm as he peered down at Scottâs unconscious frame.
âI thought you were a vet.â My eyes trailed over him as he snapped on a pair of medical gloves. I appreciated the help from an adult right now, but he wasnât exactly a doctor.
He glanced at me fleetingly before picking up the tweezers. âThatâs correct. And ninety percent of the time Iâm mostly treating cats and dogs.â
âMostly?â Stiles muttered from beside me, his eyes glistening down at Scott with worry.Â
Deaton paused just before digging the tweezers into Scottâs side. He looked at the two of us, a small smile pulling at his lips as if he knew something we didnât. âMostly.â
Just then, my phone started ringing loudly. I winced at the high pitched tone and reached into my back pocket to fish it out, but stilled when I came up empty. My brows furrowed as I patted my hands against my jeans. I couldâve sworn I put it back in there once we found Scott.Â
âWhat are you doing?â Stiles eyed me curiously from the other end of the table.Â
âHave you seen my phone?â I muttered, walking around the room to look around the floor. The ringing kept getting progressively louder, to the point that it was almost painful. I rubbed at my ears as I continued searching.Â
âY/N...â Something about his tone made my attention snap back to him. I glanced down at his hand as he held it out toward me. âYou dropped it in the woods so I picked it up...â
My breath caught in my throat as I looked down at the screen. It was black. There was no one calling me, but I could still hear the ringing even now. It didnât make any sense. I took it from him with a shaky hand, avoiding his concerned gaze. I nearly jumped out of my skin as it started actually going off the second my fingers touched it.Â
My eyes flickered up toward Stiles and Deaton, who were both watching me closely. I cleared my throat and turned my back to them before answering.Â
âY/N!â Allison yelled harshly, panic clear in her voice. I immediately stiffened. What more could go wrong tonight? âYouâre never going to fucking believe this.â
âWhat?â I breathed, my heart already beating erratically in my chest with anticipation.
âMy aunt just showed me this creepy room we have in our basementâwhich I didnât even know was a thing by the wayâand youâll never believe who she has chained up in there.â
I blinked a few times, taking a moment to process what she said. âAllison, just spit it out already.â
âDerek fucking Hale! Andâand thatâs not all. He was...heâs. Oh my God, I canât even say it. Heâs a...a...â
I pinched my eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable bomb to drop. How did he always manage to get himself in these ridiculous situations? Like, are you kidding me right now? As if dealing with Peter wasnât enough, he goes and gets himself kidnapped by the Argents too. I turned back around to face Stiles and Deaton, my gaze shifting to the fresh bandage on Scottâs side. I took the relieved look in their eyes as a good sign that he was going to be okay. I held onto the small hope that Allisonâs innocence had been preserved and she wasnât about to say what I thought.
âYouâre going to think Iâm crazy, but heâsâshe said that heâs a...werewolf.â
Yeah, I knew we werenât that lucky.

Peter Hayes x Reader || Oneshot
Title: The One and OnlyÂ
Notes:Â
This is set after the Allegiant BOOK. So, SPOILER WARNING, Peter has used the memory serum.Â
I love this boy. And his lack of fanfiction is a PROBLEM.
Plot: For whatever reason, you were in love with Peter, and he was with you. But... now heâs gone. And you have to try and forget. Which is hard to do when heâs still around.Â
Finally, he wants to remember again.Â
Warnings: There is SMUT. Its indicated where though, so you can skip it if you like ^^ But there is a bit of plot in the middle. Also, swearing.Â
~~~
âHey, Y/N!â Without my permission, my heart does a little jump, but itâs not for the person who said hey to me. Sighing, I take my hands from my laptop and straighten my back, turning to smile at Peter as he comes over to me and takes a seat on the bench right by me. Iâm sitting sideways on it so my laptop can be set on it as well, so now Iâm facing him without turning and trying to notice how differently he sits down, to how he used to. Itâs like he completely started over, which he kind of did. His whole life, âWiped away by chemistry,â. Including the way he walked, talked, and everyone who loved him. Well, person.
Me.
Which was a total dick move on his part, which was the last completely in-character thing that he did.
But, I canât be mad at this boy in front of me, even if he looks miraculously similar to the dick in question. From his shiny hair to the tips of his greedy fingers. âHi, Peter, whatâs up?â
âJust finished another recall lesson. Still nothing,â He shrugs, uncaring. I already told him that this is what he wanted by taking the serum, to forget everything. So, he doesnât really try in these lessons that heâs forced to attend, by government law. He believed me right away, weirdly. And has been acting so aloof about it since like somehow, he understands, which of course he canât. Because he doesnât know anything about himself or what he did to cause his old self to want to erase his memory! The whole thing, his whole response to this life changing event is aloof, and its infuriating. Itâs the main thing that hasnât changed at all about him, along with his appearance and his firm aversion to sprouts. Heâs still really, really annoying.
âYou know, Iâm glad youâre respecting his wishes to not remember, but maybe you should try and remember some things. I mean, the techniques are working for some of the others, right? You said, uh⊠Katie, remembered something? Her choosing ceremony?â I watch, expression changing from thoughtful to deadpanned as he takes my can of coke and swigs from it like he spent 3 dollars on it. Once heâs done, I snatch it away from him and set him with a glare as I put it down on the other side of the bench, away from him. It causes a mischievous grin to pop onto his face and a laugh, and I try to forget the other times heâs made that face at me before he took the serum. Because that Peterâs dead, and I need to let him go like Fourâs letting go of Tris. Itâs not fair to this Peter.
In response to what I said, he just shrugs his shoulders again and look away to across the park- where Caleb is taking some photos. We drove here together, him and me. In fact, weâve been doing a lot together. As two of the only ones from the original group who knows everything that happened, we have a connection. Peterâs next words rip my attention from Caleb though and makes me want to blurt out no, immediately. âNah, I mean old me wanted this for a reason, right? I mean, I do kinda wanna know why he wanted this, but I figure he was some kind of depressed loser with self-esteem issues. Thatâs good enough for me, to keep going like this. Donât wanna be that.â
Words have escaped me. I guess, I figured he thought something like that the whole time, but⊠hearing it out loud, in such a certain tone, hurts. My heart fights for me to tell him heâs wrong, at the very least, but my brain tells me to let him go on. Donât interfere. He told you, before he took the serum, to let him go. Still be friends but let go.
He was being unfair, but thatâs nothing new is it? The asshole.
I press my lips together after I get over the shock and horror and kiss my teeth. Deciding this has been enough âfriendshipâ for today, I quickly save my work and shut down my laptop, closing it. âYeah, um, Peter. I gotta go. Caleb! Caleb, are you done? Iâm having an Old Peter moment, so we have to go now.â Â
Itâs not exactly a code, but it is what he or I say when weâve had enough of new Peter or weâre remembering too much and need to get away. We use it for Tris, too. Even though she really isnât here anymore. Caleb immediately starts putting his camera in its bag and walking over, without a word.
Peter himself looks unruffled by it, having come to accept it easily that I wonât always be able to handle this. He isnât exactly cold about it⊠in fact, heâs understanding. Nearly nice. It makes me feel even sicker. âOh, by all means, go. Iâm gonna stick around a while, see you guys later.â
Caleb nods to Peter, reaching us and turning to me. âSee you, Peter. Y/N? Are you oka- Oh,âI pick up his wrist and start dragging him to the car. As soon as Iâm in the front seat and Iâm buckle din, I look back over to the bench Peterâs sitting at, and catch him watching me. Trying not to scowl at him, I turn back to the steering wheel and turn the ignition. âItâs never going to get easier, is it?â Caleb asks from the passenger seat after a while, looking up from his camera on which he was flicking through the pictures he took.
I shake my head, immediately, heart still clenched in annoyance and ageing heartache. I risk a glance at him, chewing the inside of my cheek. âNope, donât think so.â
With that, there isnât else to say, so we just hold hands. Tightly.
~~~
At dinner later in the community dining hall, I sit with Four and listen to him talk about work for a while. Itâs a little awkward, and a lot strange seeing as we donât talk at all, most days. Not since Tris died, but weâve never acknowledged that and itâs been months. We were never close in the first place, but once youâve fought a revolution with someone, you become attached. Heâs a staple in my life just as much as I am his, and thatâs why our relationship is so strange.
Nodding in agreement to something he said about how ridiculous milk prices are at the moment and how frustrating that is as I skewer a piece of broccoli and place it in my mouth. I donât foresee Fourâs and my relationship ever changing, seeing as weâre so different and have very little common and I donât particular want to be best friends with him -acquaintances with a non-personal past is nice. Comfortable, without any expectations but still the understanding that weâre here for each other. I like it, - so there isnât much in thinking about how strange it feels, I just thought I would mention it once to myself. âAlso, the toilet paper, you seen that??â
He groans, in response, causing a bubbling laugh to travel up my throat from my chest. âItâs killing me.â
âKilling you! I have a lower paying job then you, Iâm gonna have to start using the cardboard rolls soon!â He shakes his head, the tiniest grin on his lips as he looks back down at his food. I feel triumphant. âIt wonât be good!!â
âOh, jeez⊠â
âHey, weâre gonna have to rig Secret Santa so you can buy me some, okay?â I point my fork at him conspiratorially. âIâll get you milk.â He chuckles this time, making me smile. Â
For the rest of dinner, we continue like that. Talking about our shared financial issues and even switching over to Caleb at one point and how heâs sitting so pretty on his high paying job and his stockpiled toilet paper. God damn BrainiacâsâŠ
Itâs a good distraction from Peter, a few tables away.
~~~
When I finally get home, after hanging with some other friends after dinner just outside the community centre, goofing around I nearly suffer cardiac arrest as soon as I walk through the door.
Peter is not usually a menacing presence. But when heâs sitting in my dark apartment in the middle of the night and I had no idea he would be there, that fact changes! I donât let myself scream, though. I hold my breath until the urge disappears.
After a moment, I let out the breath deeply and turn fully to him, dropping my scarf and keys on the hallway table before moving further into my home, past him. âPeter⊠âI growl, annoyed at him instantly. I donât catch the mischievous smirk he sends my back, but I do feel it. âWhat the bleeding hell?!â
âSorry if I scared you.â
âOh, you are not.â
âTrue.â His cheeky tone puts my senses on high alert. Both because a cheeky Peter has always and will always be something to worry about, and because it used to turn me on. Still kinda doe, but thatâs not something Iâm about to admit to this version of him. We havenât established that kind of relationship, nor will we ever. Sighing as my heartbeat slows down to its normal speed, I check the battery level on my pheon before putting it on charge. Then, finally, I sit down at the kitchen table across from Peter and settle into figuring out why the hell heâs here. And⊠also⊠how he got in??? The door was locked??? âKey was under the mat, Y/N. You should probably find a more secure hiding spot. Or at least more creative, jeez.â
â⊠okay⊠âI roll my eyes. He has a point. âSo, Peter, uh⊠why are you here?â
âWell, I⊠âI watch while he suddenly droops in confidence and draws something on the table with his finger. These moments are really weird for me. Peter was always so confident before, even when he shouldnât have been. Its cute, but so, so weird. He draws the thing, whatever it is, then looks around the room, making me remember that heâs never been in here before. An attempt made by me to keep him at a distance, which I guess now has been turned to shit. His shy moment ends, and one corner of his mouth perks up in a half smirk. âI like your place, could get used to it here. I wonder⊠why havenât you ever brought me here before?â
âTo keep you at a distance.â I say, bluntly. Theirs a slight shift behind his eyes at it, making his mouth turn down a bit in a tiny scowl and his green eyes look cold.
âHas Four been here?â
âUh⊠yeah.â I donât know why I should lie, or why he would look so serious about it. Before the serum, this was his murderous face, but Iâm assuming it must be something different now. New Peter doesnât have an evil bone in his body. âHe has, but not for long. He just came to help me move in, hasnât been back since though⊠why? Uh, you know what, I donât care. Why are you here?â
His serious face intensifies. âI saw you with him tonight, and it brought back some feelings. So, I have a question.â
Making a confused, and slightly frustrated face, I shrug. âWhat kinda feelings?â
âJealously.â Oh, heâs playing blunt too.
That does make me think, though. Whether this is unwanted memories coming back, or just a glimmer, a shadow of the old Peter coming back for a second. Because, yes, this is exactly something that he would feel before the serum. Any time I was with another guy, especially Four due to his particular dislike of the tattooed, ex Dauntless, he would get so jealous. Usually, it ended with that guy receiving some kind of punishment or dirty look, and me getting Peter attached to me for the rest of the day. Now, though, I should just tell him to ignore it.
But⊠âSo, whatâs your question?â I canât pass up the chance heâll become a little more the Peter I love. Even though I shouldnât.
He looks dangerously focused into my eyes, which is also very Old Peter-like. âWere we a couple, before?â
Ahhhh, whoops. I donât know what I thought he was going to ask, but for some reason this didnât occur to me. If I tell him the truth, he might remember more then he should. Not to mention the fact that itâll ruin whatever relationship we have now. And if I tell him a lie, heâll know. âUmm, well⊠uh, yeah.â
I hold my breath, as soon as the last word escapes my lips. Have I ruined it? Will he remember, and hate me? Heâs silent for just a moment, not giving me enough to time to think of a plan if he does remember, before he leans back in his chair, muscles relaxing.
âWell, thatâs news.â Well, thatâs not the reaction I expected or one I wanted! At least be sensitive to my situation, Peter! He looks away from me and to the side of the room, and I watch. How will he take this? Will he leave? âThought I felt something. No wonder I wanted to be with you so bad.â
âHm, and I thought the new you was just annoying.â I get up from the table and head for the door. âWell, you better go, before you remember anything else,â
âWell, I kinda want to now.â
Donât be serious, donât be serious, donât be seriousâŠ
âNo, you donât.â You didnât want to remember before, youâll hate yourself even more if you miss out on your one chance to change yourself easily. Youâre already doing so well! Donât do this to yourself, please. âJust trust me, telling you that you donât want that.â
He looks at me again, and his green eyes change again. He gets up from his seat and comes over to me, a little too close. Oh, no. he doesnât think just because I was with the other him that heâll get any action, does he? The jerk. I look up at his face, craning my neck since heâs so close, and feel my heart plunge to my feet. Heâs made up his mind, he wants to know. I shake my head at him, he smirks. âCome on, Y/N. Havenât you missed me?â
I groan, and push him away. âNooo⊠I mean, yes. But youâre not him. And I wonât take away your chance, to- âHe brings me back to him his familiar hands on my hips. Itâs like trying a drug that I long gave up⊠but still feels so good. Stubbornly though, I pick his hands off of me. I have to try to avoid his eyes. âPeter, go home.â
âNo.â The resolve and the determination in his voice shocks me and I look up quickly at his face. He wouldâve never refused to leave me alone like that earlier today. Already, his old self is coming⊠oh no. Groaning again, I turn to open the door and force him out. This is not good. We were doing so well! We were nearing our 6-month mark! It was going to work! And now⊠now⊠well, it can still work! It will. I just need to get him out of her- His hands are on me again, oh no. That feels good.
âY/N⊠âHe tightens his grip on my waist nearly painfully, so familiar and demanding me to give in and enjoy it. You know, before the morning comes and he remembers everything and shuns me. But I wont give up, and I put my hands on his again to try and peel them off, before his breath hits the side of my neck and his voice, dark and with that ever-joking way about it, causing me to pause. The asshole tone. âI want to remember, now. And youâre my ticket. Plus⊠youâre mine, right? I have some punishment to implement for talking to Four. For some reason that really pissed me off.â
My bodyâs ahead of my mine, in this. Already leaning back and feeling the warmth of his chest against my back while my mouth still talks about him leaving. âYouâll regret this.â
âHell I will, now come on.â I turn around to face him, causing him to flash me a bright, Peter smile before he much too soon since I wasnât really expecting him to ever do this again, kisses me, and it feels so good my resolve melts away. Of course, its still hanging around back there in the back of my heart, but now all the time I wasnât touching him, wasnât thinking about him this way has taken over. Not to mention pure, dumb, human sex drive.
SMUT FROM HERE ON
Kissing is nice for a couple minutes, at least. Everywhere his body touches mine, from our chests to our lips and our tongues to my arms over his broad shoulders and his hands holding my hips against his feels solid and exciting. The way he kisses me can only be described as being carnal. Purely animalistic, wanting to taste, and the way Iâm kissing back isnât different at all. I canât help sucking gently on his tongue when his lips part, causing a lascivious groan to come from him.
In fact, in response, one of his hands comes up to cup the back of my neck and hold my head in place so he take control of the kiss entirely, the other arm hooking around my lower back and compressing me against him. I donât know if it was his goal, but now I can feel clearly the wicked, familiarly full way of his pants when heâs turned on. Which he is, right now. Truly.
It makes me think for how long heâs been waiting for this, if heâs gotten so stiff so quickly. I canât say though that Iâm in much a different situation. My keenness for him is so that my core is dripping in wait, wanting to be filled by him. Impatient, I break the kiss and nearly give in to it again when his lips nearly follow me but stay strong. âPeter⊠âOh god, oxygen. Breath, need it. Heâs so hot. His hairâs a mess of brown surrounding his head, scar on his neck is calling out to be sucked on, and his eyes are beautiful. Green, and mesmerising, and tempting as ever. Giving in feels a lot like freedom.
âYeah?â The word comes out as a breath, quiet with just a hint of his voice peaking around.
I trace my hands down from his shoulders to the rest of him, enjoying the feel. âSit down, I canât ride you standing up.â
âOh, right.â Once heâs sitting down, I can clearly see his erection straining defiantly against his pants before he takes them off, his underwear going to the same place on the floor. I want to sit on it so badly, my legs shaking uncontrollably with arousal as I get rid of my own lower garments. When he sees my shining, wet pussy, he embarrassingly zeroes right in on it, an unstable smirk on his lips. Good, then. I like it when heâs unstable. Never know what heâs going to do to me. âCâmere, baby.â Tentatively, hoping I donât trip on the way because that would be embarrassing as hell, I do as he says. As soon as I get a foot from him, he gets off the chair and kneels in front of me. Oh, god, if he starts anything here my legs wonât keep me up. âHmmm, I think I remember you wetter,â I struggle to breath for a moment when he, without warning or even looking up at me, swipes a finger up between the slit of my lips. My hands snatch his shoulders, so I can stay up and I open my legs more, ready. âI think I missed this. Can you tell? My fucking cock feels like its going to snap off if I donât get to have you.â He glances up at me for a second, then does a double take and looks back at my face again, focusing on it. I wonder whatâs going through his head. The old Peter would have told me right away, just to see me go red and squirm. He is becoming that one, slowly, but still this Peter just grins devilishly at me, hooks his hands around the back of my knees and nudges me towards him some more. My body moves on its own, reacting to his hands and shuffle forward.
Then, looking into my eyes, he does something that puts me in the palm of his hands. He licks a long stripe, as if Iâm an icy pole, deeply through my lips. It makes me rigid, and moan out in bliss, my eyes falling shut. Not one to be dormant though I really want to, to just let him do whatever he wants to me, I take my right hand and entangle my fingers through his soft, hickory hair and grip his shoulder with the other, swinging my leg over his right shoulder before opening my eyes and peering down at him again. He looks surprised, in awe. I feel freaken powerful. âYou⊠you just going to stare at me Peter, or finish what you started.â
Its not a question, itâs a demand. He needs to do that again.
âYes, Maâam.â He flashes me another Peter smile, then gets to work. And man, did my move make a difference. It felt good before, but now I really do think I might lose in my legs, especially since Iâm only one! And, god, he looks good eating me out. Like heâs kissing me, taking generous gulps every time his tongue scoops some more of my essence, getting deeper with every plunge until Iâm trying desperately to distract myself by playing with his hair. Simultaneously though Iâm pressing my heat into his mouth.
In the end, itâs the sucking that pushes me over the edge. Just as Iâm getting used to the pleasure, he abruptly puts his mouth over my cunt and sucks, causing shock to rush through me and my eyes to widen. âPeter!â I gasp, tightening my grip on his hair, as cum explodes from my core. He doesnât drink it, just leans back on his heels and watches it drip down my thighs in satisfaction. After a moment, he looks like heâs in a trance as he watches, and I reel from the extreme pleasure.
âItâs going to feel so fucking good in there. I missed this.â
âHow can you miss something you donât remember.â
âI remember Capture the Flag,â He says it off-hand, before either of us can realise that he shouldnât remember that. I remember. Eric had picked him second for his team and me last because it was either me, or Christina and they didnât have a good track record with her. I found Peter shortly after he got âshotâ with those neuro stim guns, and we stuck around that old carnival after everyone else left. He created a really dumb one liner, entailing that itâd make him feel better if I kissed his wounds. We didnât get back until the early hours of the morning, getting probably near 2 and half hours of sleep. But he shouldnât remember that.
My eyes snap down to him and hop down on my knees with him, looking into his eyes. Of course, I canât tell just by looking at his eyeballs if heâs back, but maybe if I stare hard enough, heâll tell me. After a moment, he just shrugs a little a smiles, blankly back at me. Then leans across and gives me a deep kiss. He pulls back and grins. âYouâre the ticket, sweetheart. I knew it.â
Sighing, having let my hopes raise just then that he would be back, and wrap my arms over his shoulders and play more, softly with his hair. Looking at his lips, then his eyes. âThen maybe you should hurry up and take it.â I lower my voice, my heart bleeding to tell the secret I havenât dares to utter to anyone, since Peter disappeared. âI want you back. I miss you.â
âI want to be back.â He leans towards me, curling an arm around my back so he can carefully lay me back on the floor. âHey, when heâs back. Tell him for me that he owes you something big, for putting you through this.â
âPeter, are you making a dirty joke to me right now?â I giggle, looking at the ceiling now as he readyâs himself. He laughs, too.
âNo, I actually didnât hear that until you mentioned it. Really.â
âReally,â I roll my eyes, disbelieving. Â
âAbsolutely Y/N! Now, let me concentrate.â That brings me back to the present. I realise Iâm still dripping with cum from before, and when I look up at him above me ready to power into me fully, I realise I still fucking want him. Heâs so tall, and strong, and I intend to give him a hickey on that neck scar if it is the last thing I do tonight.
Hooking my legs up and around his waist, I meet him in the middle for the first delicious thrust. I watch curiously, his face as it changes from mischievous to delighted, in an enticingly smutty way. That makes me grin, but then the pleasure hits me and a surprisingly, nearly embarrassingly amorous moan comes from me, as his cock powers through me, rubbing against my inner walls like static. In reaction the pleasure, I arch up into him, and pull him by the hair down to my mouth, pressing a slow, careful kiss to his lips first before moving on to that neck scar.
While he pounds into me, he also feels my ministrations on his neck. I lightly trace the tip of my tongue up the long line, then kiss the middle and start nibbling and sucking there to my liking, taking my time to enjoy it. And I know he does, too, because he mumbled a very sexy, guttural curse at one particular lick. It sent trickles of pleasure all the way down to my core. Â
This ecstasy goes on for who knows how long, I certainly wasnât watching the time, before he lets himself go and I watch through half lidded eyes as he comes apart inside me, the stuff leaking out from around his dick and dripping out of me in warm spurts. I gives one last, hard thrust and I come along with him, a sigh escaping me and a sentence of curses from him. Carefully, he disconnects himself from me, and I get up and help him to his feet, beyond sleepy now. â⊠okay. That was nice, now⊠sleep?â I giggle, at the understatement and at his cute weary look.
âShow the way,â
âYes sir, come on.â I lead him by the hand to my bedroom. Quickly we clean ourselves up, and then we hop in and the bed is so, extremely comfy after the floor. âCanât believe we did that on the floor when this was here⊠âI mumble, tiredly.
âWouldnât be the weirdest place.â He pulls me toward him and I entangle our legs, almost subconiously. Iâm so tired I don't pick up on that hint.Â
Snorting, I shake my head as I start to fall asleep. âNo, guess not⊠â
~~~
In the morning, I wake up to peter already awake. He hasnât moved much, just⊠you know, rested his head on his fist and is watching me sleep.
I squint and push my head back further into my pillow and away from him suspiciously. â⊠Goodmorning.â
He flashes a wicked grin. Wide smile and dull eyes, like he wants you to think he knows something you donât. Or worse, he does. Very Peter-like. âMorning, beautiful.â
Even more suspiciously, I try to figure out first on my own whatâs up, because something surely is. All I remember is what we did last night, and shame washes over me. Oh, lord⊠itâs too early for this. âWhat?â
âTold you, you were the ticket- âThat makes me gasp, and sit up immediately, hitting my forehead on his and causing pain that I ignore. He rubs his forehead, but doesnât seem mad. Just cheeky, and a little evil. âChrist, Y/N, I guess the honeymoons over, huh??â
I clench the sheets under my fists and chew on my bottom lip. âYouâre⊠back?â
He just gives me a look, like âWell, obviouslyâ.
No, no. I need a real answer. Does he realise what heâs put me through?? Probably. He is a jerk after all. âPeter?â
âThe one and only.â

Seconds: Part Three (Bucky Barnes X Reader)
Part 1
Part 2
Summary: After your night with Bucky, Nat seems to be a little clued into your feelings about a certain soldier.
Word Count: 2369
A/N: OKAY more fluff that is kinda lowkey filler but whatever Iâm a sucker for characterisation and friendships ://
You woke again, earlier than Bucky, the sun only just peaking through the clouds past your window. He'd rolled over during the night,body half uncovered as his left arm lay half off of the bed. His hair was messy and his face was squished adorably. You wondered why, before a conversation about sex that started as a joke, you'd never really seen his as more than just a friend. For Steve it'd been instant. He was tall and broad and handsome and a gentleman, and something in your brain had just slipped and insisted on infatuation. But for Bucky, it'd always been comfort. He was always there when you needed someone to talk to and he always tried his hardest to make you laugh when you were on the verge of tears. It wasn't beyond friendship for you, but now seeing him half naked, sprawled over your bedsheets, it seemed normal. Like it was meant to be that way. You felt a sudden urge to kiss him, to worship every limb and tell him how beautiful he really was but instead, you just slipped from under the covers and tip toed across your room, snagging your robe from the back off the door, and slowly inching it closed after you, as to not wake him. Your laptop was were you had left it on the kitchen bench the night before, so you perched yourself up on one of the stools, beginning to browse the day's news. It was the same: depressing, but in the dullest way.
A buzzing sound erupted in your apartment, coming from the general direction of your sofa and you immediately dove towards it, hoping to catch it before it woke Bucky up.
"Hey." Your voice was hushed.
"Hey, you running late or something?" It was Nat. You furrowed your brows, confused about what she was saying when it hit you. You were supposed to be working out with her and you were already late.
"Oh my god, Nat, sorry, shit, I completely spaced, I'll be there in like fifteen." You rushed.
She let out an airy laugh. "Don't stress, but know that I have been waiting for you for ten minutes." You felt guilt all over your entire body. Of course you forgot, Jesus, how could you forget? "I'm so sorry, Nat."
"It's fine, Y/N. Seriously. I'll see you soon?" She sounded chirpy.
"Yeah, see you soon." You hung up, silently speed walking to your bedroom. You crept in, pulling your workout clothes from your closet as quietly as you could and leaving. All the while, Bucky didn't stir, still softly snoring away. You slipped into your bathroom, washing your face, pulling your hair back and getting changed in a world record amount of time and then you were off. Before leaving, you quickly scrawled a note explaining your absence to Bucky and left it on the kitchen counter. Luckily the traffic wasn't too bad due to the early hour but you still took 18 minutes to get to the training room. You were short on breath as you burst in, Nat waiting expectantly standing over the speakers that she plugged her phone into. "You took your god damned time." She smiled, noticing your frazzled state.
"Yeah, I know. I suck." You stripped your jacket off and tossed all your things onto the bench at the side of the room. "At least I got a bit of extra cardio in, though." Nat laughed, meeting you in the centre of the room as the two of you stretched. "Big night?" She asked.
You shook your head. "Just stayed in. Watched some shitty TV. Went to bed. You?"
"Yeah me too, I watched that horror movie you always talk about. Wasn't that scary." She stretched her arm over her head to loosen her triceps as you bent your knees to stretch out your quads.
"You're just a weirdo. It's impossible to scare you." You rolled your eyes.
"I guess you grow out of it." She shrugged.
"You should come over and we'll have a horror marathon. There's gotta be something your afraid of." You stretched down to touch your toes.
"Yeah, maybe on a night when your not having sex." She chuckled.
You sprung up. "What?"
Her laugh became louder as she abandoned her stretching. "Is that why you didn't invite me last night? You already had someone over?"
"N-no." You stuttered.
"You're such a bad liar!" She laughed. "You totally had someone there. And you smell like a dude."
"I'm wearing cologne." You countered, putting your hands on your hips, feigning certainty.
"Okay, nobody is buying that." She rolled her eyes. "Who was it? Was it fun? Were they good? You sore? Is that why you were late?"
You took a moment to catch up with her quick fire questions. "I didn't have sex last night!" You insisted. She raised her eyebrow and tilted her head to tell you wordlessly that there was no way that she believed you. You let out a sigh, caving. "We just cuddled."
She grinned, shoving your shoulder slightly with a childish joy in her eyes. "Who?"
"You wouldn't know him." You lied.
She bit her lip with a tiny giggle. "Can't wait to meet him."
"Oh my god, it's not that serious." You exhaled heavily. "Now are we here to work out or not?"
"You're right, you gorgeous minx, you." She gave you a little wink as she approached the treadmills. You followed, your cheeks burning bright red, hoping that you wouldn't give yourself away. An hour and a bit later, you were sweating by the bucketload, your hair a mess and your muscles aching. Nat looked great, as usual, convincing you further that she was actually superhuman. Or an alien. Or a figment of your imagination. Wouldn't that be fun. "God I would murder for an omelette right now." She said, wiping of the, maybe three, droplets of sweat of her forehead.
"That's such a weird craving." You puffed out, wincing as you walked over to your stuff. "But now I really want one too. My house?"
"Sure!" She grinned. The two of you headed out of the compound's gym, you wiping your sweat of the back of your hand, which was also wet. Nat handed her, pretty much dry, towel to you and you thanked her with a smile. You were glad you had her. Everyone needs someone who would let you borrow their sweat towel.
You only split at the lobby, you heading to your car and Nat to her room in the compound. It was pretty much only used to store clothes when she needed a fresh set after your workouts. You told her you'd meet her at your place and with that the two of you separated. You climbed into your car and once again started on the road toward your house. You felt completely wrecked but also sort of energised in a way that only a difficult work out could do. You wondered, on the road, how you lived before all of this. Before the team, before your friends. You hadn't ever been this happy, and definitely never this healthy. It'd been a long and winding road of staying on the run and squatting in houses and couch surfing from apartment to apartment until you found them. It was as if some miraculous trial had paid off and you were finally useful to someone. And loved. Nat was one of the first to embrace you with open arms, seeing you as more than an asset to the team but a friend. She helped you set up your place in the living quarters, introduced you to everyone, took you out, trained with you. She helped you feel not so alone. And it was something you'd be eternally grateful for. She was one of your best friends and it was something you'd thank your lucky stars for until the day you died. You parked in your usual spot, taking your time in climbing the stairs and suddenly wishing you lived somewhere with an elevator. You were glad to be way from Nat, never feeling great about her seeing how weak you are. It seemed that as much as you worked out you could never keep up with everyone else. Your diet of takeout and beer and pretty much nothing else might've had something to do with it, but it wasn't your fault you never learned how to cook. You were glad, though, that she wasn't too far away because she knew how to cook and her omelettes were to die for. You fumbled through your bag for your keys turning the lock and pushing open the door only to be hit with the smell of smoke.
"You look awfully sweaty, doll, you been seeing somebody else that you should tell me about?" Bucky stood, shirtless in your kitchen, flipping pancakes with a wide grin on his face.
"Bucky!" Your eyes widened, your belongings dropping from your arms as you quickly shut the door behind you. "What are you doing?"
"Cooking pancakes." He held up the pan as if you needed evidence. He looked down at his work and winced a little. "Burning them, really."
You approached quickly, glancing over your shoulder. "Oh my god. You're literally the sweetest person alive but you need to go."
He frowned, confused. "But, I-"
"Nat is coming upstairs in like five minutes." You explained.
His eyes widened. "Oh, well, shit."
You nodded, his response appropriate. "I'm so, so sorry, I should've called, I just blanked. I'm so out of it this morning."
"No, no, it's fine, I just." He walked around you. "I'll get my stuff."
You turned off the stove, scraping the burnt pancake batter into the sink and pushing aside the evidence to the side of the bench. You hoped that Nat took her sweet time in getting changed. You walked down the hall quickly to where Bucky was getting dressed in your room.
You peeled off your sweaty clothes and pulled on a fresh t-shirt and a pair of sweats, ignoring Bucky's eyes on you. He grabbed his shirt from the end of the bed and pulled it over his head.
"You know, I should really start working out with you if this is the show I get after." He said.
"Oh shut up." You rolled your eyes, pulling your hair out of its tie and shaking it out. You turned around, both of you fully dressed now. "I'm really sorry, Buck. I feel like a total ass."
"It's okay. I mean you're always a total ass so I'm used to it." He walked towards you, pulling you by the waist into him. He leant down, planting a firm kiss on your mouth. "And plus, you can just make it up to me tonight. Dinner at mine? If you don't have plans with Nat."
You smiled, nodding. "Of course. Hopefully this time you don't burn it."
He chuckled, brushing some stray hair out of your face. "That's probably not likely."
You laughed, and then immediately stopped upon hearing the front door open. "Jesus it's smells like a wildfire in here. Did you try to cook without me?"
Your body tensed and Bucky's eyes widened.
God damn, curse Bucky for being so adorable and making you give a long winded goodbye apology. He mouthed the words 'what do I do?' And you mouthed back 'I don't know.'
"Y/N?" Nat chimed, starting down the hall.
You winced, holding up a hand. 'Stay here' you mouthed. He nodded, watching as you walked out of the room, closing the door behind you nonchalantly. "Uh Yeah, sorry. I tried to start some eggs and forgot about them while I was changing and I completely fucked up my frypan." You laughed. She rolled her eyes at you. "Dude that's ridiculous. This is why you should wait for me."
"Well I figure I've got to learn one day." You shrugged, trying to keep the conversation light but you couldn't take your mind off the boy in your bedroom.
"Well here's a tip; don't start cooking something and then walk away for five minutes." She laughed, admiring the charred mess in the sink. "You gotta learn the basics before you can become the grand housewife to a certain super solider." Oh my god, did she see Bucky? How could she have? Maybe she heard him? Your heart raced.
Upon seeing your reaction she laughed. "What, you didn't think I noticed your crush on Steve? You're smitten, kid. It's so obvious."
You breathed out a sigh of relief, too thankful to be embarrassed. "Oh, that. Yeah. I forgot about that."
Nat furrowed her brows giving you a quizzical look. "You and that guy last night should've screwed, this dry spell is making you weird."
"Should we go to that cafe down the block?" You suggested with pink cheeks, wanting nothing more than a subject change.
"Yeah, sure. I'll teach you how to cook another time when your kitchen doesn't smell like shit."
You laughed at that. "Okay, sweet, I'll go get my coat. Just give me a sec."
You turned back towards your bedroom, opening the door to see Bucky perched on the side of your bed, lacing up his boots. You rolled your eyes at his smug smile as if silently telling him to fuck off. You grabbed your coat from your closet and began to leave but Buck ceased your wrist, pulling you back towards him. He pulled you down so he could whisper in your ear, his breath in your neck sending shivers down your spine. "Be at mine by seven and wear something pretty. I'm taking you out for real."
You smiled, his face looking up at you with a determined smirk. You nodded, leaning down to quickly peck him before pressing your spare house key into his palm. He released your arm and you began to head back out to Nat, holding up seven fingers to Bucky for confirmation that you'd see him then. He returned the gesture, a distant smile on his face as you left.

âŁïž+++ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owain~
{ âŁïž Mistletoe~ } |( Iâm gonna be more creative with this one Sayl )
5 times Owain and Cynthia were caught under the mistletoe
1.
  âOwain wait!â Theyâre young, and innocent, bright eyed in the way they see the world. Neither child has been touched by war or bloodshed or loss just yet. The little girl who reaches out to grasp Owainâs sleeve is almost unrecognizable from who sheâll grow up to be - her hair is long and flowing, and in her red velvet dress she looks like the epitome of âa little lady.â
   âItâs bad luck! My momma told me so!â She points upward, at the hanging plant with itâs white berries. âShe says you gotta kiss someone youâre under it with, or else!â She lets that âor elseâ hang ominously in the air as she implores Owain to understand how terrible it would be to just step away from it.Â
  Heâs her friend, not her best friend as thatâs a title reserved for Severa still, and sheâd hate to make him have bad luck! Heâs supposed to start learning how to fight with a sword soon like Lucy and his uncle!Â
  So, the little girl leans forward and quickly kisses his cheek, stepping back with a proud smile. âThere! Now you wonât have any bad luck!â Sheâs so proud of herself for solving this problem that she hadnât noticed Owain lean in and kiss her cheek back - before he ran off with a quick âThanksâ followed by his laughter as he dared her to chase after him.
  A lady never runs... but Cynthia grinned brighter than the candles lit everywhere and hiked up her skirt to run.
2.
  No longer are they innocent now. Both have known loss, both have mourned... But neither realize how much more theyâll have to lose. It still feels weird, her hair being so short, how quick it is to brush it, how light she feels with it gone. What also feels weird is seeing the yuletide decorations still being hung up - as if the world forgot that her mother was gone, as if she could be merry and bright when it felt like her world was ending.
  Severa wasnât even her friend anymore. No, now Owain claimed that title, the boy in question stepping along beside her, forming up heroic names for his new training sword. It was nice, this talk of heroes and making a difference and building their legacies. It distracted her, it gave her a reason to keep trying to learn how to wield a lance and how to use it on her motherâs pegasus without whacking the poor steed in the head.
  She laughed at something (how was it he still could make her laugh when it was like a grey cloud was always following her?) shaking her head as he said a name that was more ridiculous than epic, when he suddenly reached out and grabbed her sleeve. âWait, bad luck remember?â And he points up - where someone had hung mistletoe.
   âYou remember?â Cynthia asks, surprised and pleased, staying still under it.Â
   âOf course! Right after that you tripped face first and almost knocked down the tree with you!â Cynthia gasps, faking being offended as she stomps her foot - unable to stop from smiling.
   âThat was totally on you! You turned the corner too fast and my slippers lost any sort of traction they had!âÂ
   âStill almost ruined Midwinter~â He teases, grin bright as ever and making her laugh and gently shove his shoulder.
   âWell, how about I ruin your midwinter by giving you bad luck!â She teased back, smirking.
   âYou. Would. Never!â Owain says, faking shock and affront himself, making Cynthia laugh once more over how dramatic it is. Cynthia paused, humming for a moment, before quickly leaning forward and kissing his cheek.Â
   âYeah, youâre right. I wouldnât.â She says, pleased as ever with a grin that spoke only of happiness. âNow hurry up and give me a kiss back so that we can get back before it gets cold!â
3.
   She thinks the only reason they even bother with Midwinter festivities and traditions now is because the morale is needed. People want to be happy, they want to celebrate, they want to forget that beyond Ylisstolâs walls, the world is ending. So, old tinsel is strung up, presents that are modest at best and practical are exchanged, and somewhere, a sprig of mistletoe is found by a self-styled heroine as she tries to hang it up.
   Her hair is slightly longer now, framing her face and falling just below her ears. It keeps getting into her face - sheâll have to figure out a way to tie it back sooner or later or else doom herself to perpetually spitting out flyaway strands when sheâs in the sky. Cynthia is focused, standing on top of a wiggly, unsteady ladder as she tries to string it up. She smiles - it now hanging successfully with a red ribbon tied around it - when suddenly gravity tries to claim a victim and she falls backwards -
  And into the arms of Owain. âOh... Hey!â She says, laughing, that horrible falling feeling replaced by pure mirth as she buries her face into his neck for a short second. âMy hero.â She teasingly says the name as he sets her back onto her feed.
   âBut of course I am, else youâd be caught prey to the terrible force of the ground!â He replies, striking a pose and prompting her to strike one back. âAh, but Owain - now youâve fallen prey to the surface trap of the mistletoe sprig!â
  He notices, finally, what she had hung up, and laughs heartily. âSo I have, and the only way to avoid itâs terrible, foul curse is to kiss my companion beneath it?âÂ
   âYep! That is the tradition after all.â She says, giggling and brushing away her hair to offer her cheek to him. Unknown to her though, he had already been moving in to give her that kiss on the cheek - and in her moving, instead for the faintest of seconds, his lips met herâs.
  Both sprang back, the awkward teens that they still were beneath the terrors and horrors theyâve witnessed, looking at each other in shock. It was Cynthia who spoke up first, âW-well, no more bad luck?âÂ
   âY-yeah, no more bad luck.â
   She hates how much she wants to press her fingers to her lips, to sigh and blush and giggle, to name this her first ever kiss. Just as sheâs hated how her heart keeps speeding up around him, and how seeing his smile makes her feel warm and floaty inside.Â
   Heâs her best friend, and she has a crush on him. How fickle is she to get a crush on him after having had one on Inigo for so long? How stupid is she to entertain any flight of fancy when not even the boy who flirted with every girl even looked once at her that way. Sheâs Owainâs best friend, she should be happy with that.
   And so Cynthia smiles and gently punches his shoulder, âCâmon, theyâve been saving those dried apples they found in the storeroom to make cider - letâs go see if itâs ready yet!â She tries not to think about how she wishes the kiss wouldâve lasted longer.
4.
  It still gives her whiplash how bright and green it is in the past. The sky is blue again, the sun shines again, there are stars again, and flowers and the Midwinter festivities are truly festive now!
  Someone forgot to tell a certain pig-tailed punisher of crime that the cider she drank from was alcoholic, and so Cynthiaâs cheeks were rosy in a way that wasnât just from the cold weather.Â
  Learning she was a lightweight with alcohol was not a fun experience, and neither was being tipsy at her first real Midwinter festival in forever.Â
   âOwain!â Cynthia spots her friend, practically falling on him in a mix of her clumsiness and the drinksâ effects - giggling slightly as he caught her. âWhoops, lost my balance! Hey are you having fun?â She hopes he is - she hopes heâs enjoying it like she is, she hopes that he -
   âOh my gods! Owain Iâm so sorry!â She just noticed that they were both under a mistletoe sprig. She remembers the last time they were in this situation - how it felt to kiss him. The crush is gone, she tells herself, but sometimes when he does something - she feels that warm and happy feeling again.
   âWe-we donât have to kiss though if you donât want to.â She says, standing up and brushing away invisible dirt off his shoulder. âI mean itâs just a silly tradition and Iâm kinda not myself and really who would -â
  Sheâs standing so close to him. She can see the exact shade of his eyes and match it to a million different things sheâs seen that are almost as vibrant. âWho would...â She trails off and leans in, not even realizing what sheâs doing until she feels his lips press against herâs.
  She practically shoves herself back at that contact, blushing redder than a hollyâs berries, as she stammers out an apology and goes to run off - only to be stopped by Owainâs hand on her.Â
  She forgets what he says, only that he stays with her the rest of the night, until that damned buzz in her system is gone and she can properly think again. They donât talk about the kiss, and for that sheâs grateful as it seems that stupid crush on her best friend is back once more...Â
  Even though sheâs no longer tipsy from that cider, she still thinks about how it had felt to kiss him, and how she wishes she had the mistletoe hanging over her head right now so she could do it again.
5.
   âHappy Midwinter, Odin Dark!â Deliah says, laughing as they embrace one another. They see each other almost daily, but that doesnât mean anything to them as Odinâs warm arms encompass her and she can hear his hearty laugh in her ears.
   âDeliah the Daring! A merry Midwinter to you as well!â She misses his old hair color, she misses how he had looked with a sword in his hand, but he is still her best friend of many, many years and sheâs missed him most of all in the time it took to find him.
  This was their first Midwinter they could celebrate together ever since his disappearance, and Deliah planned for it to go great! She even found the perfect gift for him and couldnât wait to see his face - she just knew it would beat whatever gift he got her!
   âBet I can still throw a better snowball than you~â She teased, walking along with him into the party proper, âWant to meet me outside in an hour so I can prove it?â
   They donât even notice what they walk under until suddenly hands are shoving them back. It was, after all, bad luck to not kiss under the mistletoe that now hung over their heads with itâs mockingly happy little bow.
  Deliah blushes, remembering the last time, and the time before that, when they bore different names. She looks up at him, and is surprised to see that... heâs blushing too. Great, she thinks to herself, heâs embarrassed to kiss you after the spectacle you made of yourself last time! Oh, what are you -Â
  Sheâs cut off as lips cover herâs - and Odinâs hand snakes itâs way to her back. No running away this time. Deliah closes her eyes, kisses him back. So this is what itâs like to really kiss him...
  Somewhere, someone whistles - and they break apart, though heâs still holding her close.
  Deliah smiles and leans in, kissing him again for longer than a moment, before sheâs grabbed his hand and led him into the party.Â
   She felt like only good luck would follow her for the rest of the upcoming year.

ACT OMEGA PART 26
THE 04/14/17 UPDATE
OH BOY HOW DO I WORK THIS DOODAD AGAIN BOY HOWDY I SURE FORGOT ABOUT TUMBLR FOR THE LONGEST FUCKING TIME
Whatever Alright so, I really donât care enough to try and remind myself of what was going on during the last update so Iâm just gonna get started on this one and hope for the best.
Alright so I kinda remember. Aranea just explained a ton of stuffs.
And Vriska isnât pleased by it.
VRISKA: W8. VRISKA: So... what are you saying exactly? ARANEA: I thought I was fairly clear, 8ut I understand if this inform8tion is too jarring for you to a8sor8. ARANEA: It means that if nothing is done, everything that we know will cease to 8e. VRISKA: ... Everything. Really. ARANEA: Yes, Vriska. Everything. Every ghost. Every horrorterror. Every dream 8u88le, session, and universe. ARANEA: It will all eventually fall into The Pocket and 8e lost. ARANEA: Of course, this ensures that there is no point in time or space to which Lord English can escape. ARANEA: 8ut then again, the same goes for us.
Oh. Well shit. Apparently I was right.
They better get the fuck to work.
VRISKA: ........ ARANEA: If it is any consol8tion, from the perspective of any universes currently nestled inside of Skaia, this is 8usiness as usual. All universe die, and from the moment of the Vast Croak, they contain every instance of that universe and all of their histories at once. The residents of any given iter8tion have no real way of perceiving anything that occurs in this 8roader scope. They are free to live their mortal lives as they would have otherwise. ARANEA: As they say, ignorance is 8liss--a 8lessing that those of us among the dead cannot afford. 8ut the consequences of what we manage to accomplish will reach 8eyond such individual concerns and matter a gr8 deal to the masses yet to even 8e 8orn.
So, as I said.
They better get the fuck to work.
How do you even stop a black hole though? I mean, thereâs like real world theories and shit but fuck real world. I already have sort of a theory. If they use The Tumor. Or, a tumor. I forget if that was a beta kids exclusive though, so really who knows if thatâs even possible. But supposedly, the tumor has the capability to destroy the sun, so maybe if they could get some other tumor it could destroy the hole.
Why is everybody bein so J U Dgy. Fuck, just LOOK at Kankri back there. So hateful.
ARANEA: I did everything I could to prevent The Pocket from forming. ARANEA: In fact, I spent considera8le time and effort seeking out the Lost Cheru8 for myself. I planned to attempt reasoning with her, to convince her there must 8e some other way. 8ut she was far too elusive, and no doubt too dedic8ed to her cause to have listened if I HAD found her. ARANEA: So in the end, I failed, just as you did. Iâm not too proud to admit that.
Well yeah, there was nothing you could ever do to prevent the worst thing possible from happening, thatâs sort of a running theme in homestuck. You just kinda gotta. Find a loophole around the consequences.
Pf i forgot about double eyepatch sollux
Also, Wow Feferi sure is sad
ARADIA: i dont know about calling it a failure ARADIA: its just like you said isnt it? ARADIA: this was always bound to happen ARADIA: as i see it this is simply the story reaching its natural conclusion ARADIA: honestly im kind of excited! ARADIA: i had a hunch that this is how everything would end ARADIA: though the added context definitely makes it a lot more interesting
Goddammit Aradia pls take this seriously
FEFERI: So T)(IS is w)(at the )(orrorterrors meant. 38( FEFERI: T)(ey )(ave been w)(ispering about T)(-E -END for quite a w)(ale now. FEFERI: I t)(oug)(t t)(ey must )(ave been talking about Lord -Englis)( ripping t)(em and t)(eir bubbles apart! FEFERI: But t)(is makes muc)( more sense. FEFERI: Itâs so )(ard to )(ear t)(eir sad little glubs now! FEFERI: Soon I t)(ink t)(ey will go quiet for good. 38(((
Oh. Well. I guess thatâs bad. Yeah, the horror terrors dying is definitely a bad thing. God every time I take a break from liveblogging I lose so much context.
ARADIA: really? then whatever they have to say right now must be important! FEFERI: RIG)(T?! FEFERI: I am trying to listen carefully, but I must be )(earing t)(em wrong! FEFERI: T)(ere was SOM-ET)(ING about... a door?
Well you have a house. Maybe a doorâs gonna pop up soon.
SOLLUX: man iâm glad iâm n0t the 0ne hearing v0ices, for 0nce.
I really just love the sassy stance Meenahâs got over there.
ARANEA: Are you sure thatâs what they said? ARANEA: A door? FEFERI: Um well it sure did SOUND like t)(at, but t)(at doesnât make any sense! Does it? ARANEA: What else did they have to say a8out this door? FEFERI: Glub! Not)(ing I can make out yet, sorry! FEFERI: Just... T)(-E DOOR.
Well. HUHM. I dunno, theyâre building this up quite a bunch, so I doubt itâs just gonna pop up and theyâre gonna walk through it.
OOH! MAybe they can like, seal the black hole in the house Or something
I donât know
FEFERI: I can keep listening if itâs important. ARANEA: Yes, please do. It is vitally important. ARANEA: That door is likely our 8est 8et at circumventing our current plight! MEENAH: wait MEENAH: a door MEENAH: they couldnt b talkin about the door that showed up on the weaprawn i mean weapon
I mean that seemed obvious to me
MEENAH: right? ARANEA: Actually, I 8elieve that is exactly what they are talking a8out. MEENAH: how the fuck would a DOOR save our asses exactly ARANEA: Itâs not a8out the door. Itâs a8out whatâs 8EHIND the door. ARANEA: If I am right a8out the nature of the juju, then that door could very well lead to another realm entirely, one completely 8eyond the reach of the ever-expanding Pocket. ARANEA: It is the key to everything--the only logical next step to t8ke! ARANEA: Everything is slotting into pl8ce!
Oh boy. Well this should be interesting. I donât exactly know how thatâs gonna stop the pocket but hey weâll see.
MEENAH: uh... MEENAH: youre losin me serks ARANEA: THINK, Meenah. The story isnât over yet! ARANEA: The Lost Cheru8 has done her part. We have done ours in activ8ing the weapon. ARANEA: 8ut what of the warriors? The challengers Lord English trapped inside his juju? Where do they come in? MEENAH: uh?? ARANEA: They are through that door! Them and the higher plane they have 8een trapped within for eons! ARANEA: The warriors could 8e w8ing for us to find and free them so they might do their work in repairing the damage the Lost Cheru8 has done. ARANEA: After residing in what could well 8e a macrocosm of infin8 power, surely they have the means to accomplish anything! ARANEA: What could WE accomplish 8y going there ourselves? MEENAH: uhh??? ARANEA: If nothing else, the juju is the only way we can escape the destruction of reality itself! ARANEA: It is the only path to take that leads somewhere ELSE! MEENAH: arane--
Itâs probably true. Probably. I dunno. I mean, Iâm really curious to just see whatâs behind this door already.
oh fuck
What did le do
MEENAH: what the anglin fuck?! ARANEA: Itâs already 8egun. ARANEA: Lord English is as aware as I am of the jujuâs potential. 8ut it seems his 8est course of action is to aimlessly attack it. Perhaps a 8yproduct of how unsta8le he has 8ecome.
Daddy Caliborn just needs to take a moment to chill. Enjoy a lil ice cream break maybe.
ARANEA: Instead of fleeing The Pocket, he will stu88ornly try to evade his f8 even while facing certain destruction. And 8arring that, he will do whatever it takes to take doom us all with him. ARANEA: He will not rest until the juju is destroyed. May8e he could even 8e attempting to enter it himself! Either way, we CANNOT allow him to take away our last hope!
So whatâs the game plan? How do they plan on getting through there with Lord English goin all fuckin berzerk on this poor house.
 MEENAH: ... MEENAH: yeah MEENAH: sure
Have some faith, Meenah.
O h thats a face.
ARANEA: âSureâ? ARANEA: You sound anything 8ut. ARANEA: Donât you agree with me?
Call me crazy but I donât think she does.
MEENAH: i mean yeah i guess MEENAH: all this stuff youve been spouting sounds legit MEENAH: maybe ARANEA: May8e. ARANEA: So, you donât trust me. Is that it? MEENAH: i dunno! MEENAH: i wanna believe you MEENAH: but somefin just smells fishy MEENAH: mostly cause youre gettin kinda MEENAH: weird
To be fair, sheâs always acting weird. I think the most worrying part about her behavior is how excited she is to pull this plan off. I donât really think sheâs gonna try to pull off another suicide plan. Worst case scenario, she tries to steal the glory from Vriska.
ARANEA: Weird? ARANEA: Reality is on the verge of collapse, 8ut IâM 8eing WEIRD? ARANEA: Donât you realize whatâs at st8ke?! MEENAH: Y-EA)( i do MEENAH: im just thinkin maybe we otter clear our heads before we bellyflop into anyfin ok geez MEENAH: wait for angelfish over there to synergize with the horrorglubbers or whatever ARANEA: Do you think we have time for that? At any moment, we could 8e erased forever! ARANEA: Donât you CARE a8out DYING, Meenah?! MEENAH: i...
Nope. She doesnât. Sheâs made this clear in the past (Look whoâs been doing their Homestuck rereading. Itâs me.)
ARANEA: You used to be so dedic8d to staying alive that you were willing to 8low us all up as a last resort! ARANEA: I know that we are all technically living on 8orrowed time. I am AWARE that every moment weâve spent with our consciousnesses intact was a gift none of us really deserved. ARANEA: 8ut Iâm not DONE YET!! ARANEA: I want to continue to exist! Donât you?! ARANEA: Iâve 8een here for so long, trying to make the 8est of our situation, reaching new heights in skill and understanding, and yet I still...! MEENAH: 38(
Sorry Aranea, but Iâm pretty sure Meenah has stopped giving a shit a while ago. Spending a zillion years alive/dead in the dream bubbles would do that to you.
ARANEA: Donât you want to MATTER, Meenah? Donât you want all of this to have meant something?! ARANEA: The fact that we were here, that we existed! If everything that ever was and ever will 8e is just going to disappear, then none of it will have ever meant ANYTHING! ARANEA: So please, just trust me! ARANEA: What scheme could I possi8ly have up my sleeve that would 8e worse than the alternative? What more could any of us have to lose?! ARANEA: All you have to do is listen
Yeah- Aranea youâre desperate ramblings arenât helping to make you seem more trustworthy. You kinda need to CHILL a bit.
Oh my god. Sad mopey Meenah might be one of the best things Iâve ever seen? I wanna feel bAD because I SHOULD feel bad but itâs just too fuNny to look at for some reason.
MEENAH: ... fine MEENAH: whats ur big plan
And she gives in. All sad about it too. Good job Aranea, you made someone who donât give a shit about nothing sad. S m h.
Goddammit Aranea she finally gives you the chance to explain your plan and you instantly go back to appearing more dramatic than youâve earned the right to be.
ARANEA: We need to find a way past Lord English. While it might 8e within our a8ilities to defeat him as he is now, it feels to me like too much of a gam8le when so much rides on our success. We can simply lure him away with a proper distraction and deal with him l8er.
Well heâs not known for his brains so that should be easier than it sounds.
ARANEA: Really, the most sensi8le course of action is for me to call 8ack the remainder of the army. ARANEA: Perhaps it would even 8e 8est if I took control of the entire oper8tion? Surely you agree we donât have time for any more petty squa88les. So long as I have control of the majority of our attack force, it would simply 8e more efficient for me to 8e calling the shots. Time is of the essence, after all.
Fuck yoooouuuu.  But Yeah. It probably would be smart if You did that. Ahem.
WElp thats the end of this fucking liveblog what a goddamn miracle its finALLY RELEASED NOW PRAISE ME LIKE THE MESSIAH WHOSE RETURN HAD BEEN FORETOLD IN LEGENDS DATING BACK TO BEFORE MAN
