there's a lot of really really good music in ffxiv but at the end of the day i think neath dark waters is still the single best composition in the entire game. the constant clock ticking in the background like a metronome; the minimal instrumentation with just a lone piano and very occasional strings; the relaxing and beautiful but melancholic atmosphere of the entire thing- it all somehow manages to capture such a complex feeling of nostalgia and loss for a place you, the player and the wol both, have never truly been and you never CAN be. it's genuinely incredible

how it feels to be an alto so i sing tenor parts mostly but then they hit those notes that are JUST below my range so i can say it but it just comes out gravelly and quiet but a lot of alto songs hit notes that r so high that i feel squeaky😞
