Okay I have half of the crown of a balaclava knitted for Sarah but that project is stressing me out because I feel like the gauge is insanely tight and also I knit in gartner not stockinette which I think will make it difficult to pick up the sides? So I'm pausing. I have a BUNCH of the yarn I'm knitting w rn which is variegated and gorgeous and Sarah really likes it. Plus its name is Ruby :). But I feel like variegated yarn is best served with a simple and consistent pattern which I'm a. bored by and b. worried Sarah doesn't want a scarf anyway and c. I want to do something lacy and fairylike... So I must dive into raverly.com to see if there's any good patterns. And abandon balaclava/do it in a diff yarn once I feel more comfortable with that pattern.

Long term future: dark green scarf with large absent space patterning... sexy ass sweater for myself probably navy and mohair or cashmere. When I want to blow hella cash. about the lucemond canon size difference arts, I think some part of why artists are hesitant to draw more of it is cause smaller luke is easily associated with younger luke and a lot of other fans are relentless on hating the dynamic if it looks like it has the child/underage element. which is unfortunate tbh but i don't blame them cause the hotd fandom can be really toxic. i love the lithe/petite older luke hc as well and would like to see more fanarts of it. but the least thing i want is to seem demanding of artists especially if it'd make them uncomfortable of the response 😔

hi anon. yes, i know of the artists but thank you for taking time to recommend them regardless ^^ i love their art so much truly—lucemond with size diff just hits the right spot. i think you meant to type @/gengeng_0215 for the first link and i can also recommend @/hrgves which is also another artist who draws canon lucemond size diff, if anyone else is also looking for more reccs!

and for your explanation as to why artists are hesitant to draw smaller lucerys, i understand the self-preservation in that sense but i don’t think that’s fully the case, at least for most. but for a possibility that it is for some, i’m fully support of encouraging everyone to just fuck the antis draw whatever they want.

for all her bravado, pride, and arrogance, at her core kasumi is good girl with a soft heart. she's very pragmatic and mature for her age only because of the circumstances force her that way. she grew up being terribly aware of the stigma and cost of living under a single parent.

izuku was a teen parent, unwed, and single man who carried kasumi to term and all these unconventional statuses made kasumi's childhood v v unusual in society's eyes esp when the ideal environment to raise a child is the opposite of what kasumi has so she knows she's diff. she grew up practically in fear that the gov't would take her away from izuku bc izuku couldn't properly provide and give the kind of care a normal family could and worst of all they have to rely on the same gov't that they fear to they give them enough welfare to live on.

kasumi keenly understands what it's like to be helpless under others so to see katsuki with all his wealth and power she just roll her eyes bc kasumi maybe young but she had struggle just for the right to stay w izuku and to be unworried how they’ll have to pay their rent next month.  she sees katsuki's privilege status and is supremely unimpressed by it but she also inherited izuku's deep compassion and empathy that she can see through katsuki's crown and the pressure and loneliness that come with carrying so much responsibility and power on his shoulders.

The thing is katsuki always been overbearingly protective of the ppl he care for so when he first saw izuku and kasumi's shitty small apartment w the hot water only running for 10mins and bedroom the size of a FUCKING CLOSET etc, he wanted to scoop them up and bring them to his home. HE WANTS TO GIVE THEM AND SPOIL THEM WITH EVERYTHING!!! bc they're his ppl and he wants to do anything to make them happy so he throw his power and wealth around as though that will help bc he's RICH, POWERFUL, AND PRIVILEGE so he doesn't understand restraint at all.

so kasumi is annoys by all of this grandeur of the palace and her new status as princess bc she so unused to it and though their previous apartment was shitty it was just her and papa, it was never lonely but now she thrown into this large empty palace and it's just feel WRONG. izuku understands this and though he loves katsuki deeply and wants to stay with him, he values kasumi more bc she's his everything. if kasumi wishes to leave, then izuku would pack up their stuff and go back to their original life even though it isn't perfect at least it's THEIRS.

kasumi deciding in the end to stay even temporary longer in the palace with katsuki is her acknowledging katsuki's desperate efforts to try to keep them by his side while not pushing for more bc he respect their boundaries even if he has little recognition of his own restrain lol. katsuki and izuku are pretty much a guarantee thing, but it is kasumi that their entire relationship and world hinges on bc they only wish what best for her so kasumi slowly bumbling her way through understanding katsuki and how she feel for him is pivotal point of the story.

Diff anon but: I don’t necessarily believe gifts just mean bought goods though? I mean obviously they can. But what about cooking for someone? Putting on their favourite movie even though you don’t like it? Picking up their favorite candy bar/coffee on the way to see them? Idk those types of gifts mean more to me and I’d imagine to t&s too, especially considering the size of their bank accounts ahahha. I think the term gift can mean different things to different people. #ramblerambleramble

I agree with that. The official love languages explanation does detail that gifts isn’t just materialistic. According to the love languages, cooking for someone is described as an ‘act of service’, so a physical action that you do for somebody that makes life easier or takes care of things. I think the two can kind of merge into one as well. There’s overlap. So, for a real-life VM example, I would kind of consider Scott picking up Starbucks for Tessa a few days after they got back from the Olympics, an ‘act of service’, rather than a gift. But they’re both gestures, you know? Something that makes her day better and easier. Something that shows he cares. 

I think gifts for some people can be in opposition to physical affection. Not that it’s materialistic really, but some people will spend weeks or months thinking about the perfect present to give somebody for christmas or their birthday. It has to show how well they know the person, how they understand what they need or want to bring joy to their life. And for some people the more money spent on it shows how dedicated they are, the sacrifice of their own funds to bring happiness to the other person. Gifts can definitely be small gestures too, I mean we’ve seen the bucket of rice and how much Tessa cherishes that, but her ‘thinking of you’ notes and cards are about words of affirmation more than they are gift-giving, I think? It’s definitely a combination though. But I think Scott would rather receive physical affection than any gift. He’s a tactile little puppy.

But it seems like they consider ‘presents’ and ‘gifts’ to be the big things based on the Marilyn interview. I’m sure small gestures are very common between them. I can see Scott noticing Tessa being in a bad-ish mood and getting her chocolate to cheer her up, but they probably don’t consider them gifts so much as just everyday things to make one another happy lol.

MAKES 20 BUNS: (recipe said 15) 480g Bread Flour 120g All-Purpose Flour -> 110g + 3 tbsp matcha (22g) 90g Sugar -> 55g 10g Salt -> 3/4 tsp 20g Milk Powder -> 110ml 4 teaspoons Instant Dry Yeast -> 1.5 7g pkts (i had a half-packet left over from months and months ago not sure if it was alive lol) 1 lrg Egg White -> beaten (cover egg yolk and save for egg wash later) 300ml Cold water -> warm water 60g unsalted Butter, softened -> 55g = 22mm

1. add flours & matcha. mix. add salt, sugar, milk powder, yeast. mix well. add egg white & water. mix to form dough. (added almost 50ml extra water cos too dry) 2. knead. (was not very pliable so just moved onto butter) add butter in 3 goes & knead till smooth & elastic. rise for 45 min/doubled in size. 3. refrigerate red bean paste - used my dad's red bean paste + a lil sugar (maybe 1/2 tsp) - just lightly sweet. 4. flatten dough in circle, divide into 20 pieces. shape into round balls, cover with cling wrap and rest for 15 min. (dough was more sticky and elastic than my usual dough - more smooth and lumps disappear easier) 5. flatten on table, put ball of red bean in, gather & pinch 2 opposite sides, then other 2 sides, then diagonal sides. place seam-side down on tray.

ALTERNATIVE SHAPES: - round, then flatten and cut 5 small slits (can do slightly bigger slits next time). top with walnut. - rolls (with a lil stick of butter in middle as seen on Insta - but the butter isn't necessary, for next time)

6. rise for 45 min/doubled in size. 7. brush with egg wash (1 yolk + 1 tsp water) 8. bake in oven preheated to 190C for 12-14 min (cover with foil at 10 min ish, and bake a few min more till the bottom is slightly brown).

omg i ate one fresh (like 5 min after coming out) and it was like f**king the most delicious bread i've ever made. it was moister and softer than any of my other breads but idk if it was because it was fresh hot or because of the egg white in the dough. the red bean is lightly sweet and perfect and natural - no butter, corn starch, etc. just red bean and a little sugar.

matcha is the right amount too. and right amount of sugar in the bread. yay for a perfect edit.

ate one next morning and indeed it has a diff feel to my other breads. maybe because the red bean filling is wet as well - added moisture? but the bread is not just moister but also more substantial and satisfying (less light ... more heavy, you could say, yet still fluffy and soft). probably could go a little lighter on the sugar in the bread. 50g. matcha flavour is good.

roughly 170kcal each.

NOTES: - reduce sugar to 50g (depends on sweetness of red bean as well) - 340-350ml warm water
