yn.ulrich Since I was supposed to be Sophie in my high school production of Mamma Mia!, but I couldn't thanks to covid, I did my birthday party Mamma Mia! themed (the outfit was one of my costumes that I was going to wear on the play)

Ooh please talk more about this as I have debated this with my dad who is a fan of the series but he says it is good that Sonny died because it prevented the assassinations, mob war etc. and about Sonny’s hotheadedness making him unreliable as a Don.

What influence would Gabriella have on Sonny, and what effect would their children have on him? As it’s obvious Sonny won’t be out of character but he’s better in a good way from having Gabriella in his life instead of Sandra…

Would Sonny risk getting Gabriella and his family with her killed in a retaliatory attack? Or would he risk losing Gabriella from his actions leading to one of their children being murdered or more than one killed?

I honestly don't think Sonny's death prevented shit. 👀 It prevented fuck all. A family war still started out and of course it would, the successor to be of Vito Corleone was assassinated in an absolutely brutal style with a useless wannabe mafioso rat Carlo pulling some of the strings behind it. What did Tattaglia and Barzini honestly expect? Because Michael made sure to get tenfold the revenge on not only his father's attempted assassination, but for Sonny too.

If Sonny wasn't going to fuck up Barzini's shit, Michael definitely did. It would have happened one way or another. Michael intensified everything and he didn't hold onto Vito's promises and words of peace. He made it VERY clear those were his "father's words". Sonny didn't like Vito's ideas of peace either, it would make HIM look weak as a Don if he followed by it.

To be completely honest, Sonny had a much higher chance of preventing a family war, at least in the short term, because he would have happily done the drug deal with Sollozzo. Tom actually supported this too, and before Vito met with Sollozzo formally, Tom told him it would be a good idea to get in, get a piece of the cake before the other families do and secure a good, strong position. Vito just didn't listen. Sonny was already on board.

Gabriella would have no influence on Sonny in regards to the "family business". It's the one thing Sonny would refuse to listen to her on or have her very involved in, or "in the know". He would consider she's worried for his life and having a target on his back though, but canon Sonny didn't think much of how his actions would impact his wife and kids other than their immediate safety and protection.

If Sonny even suspected Gabriella and his family might get killed, he would burn down the world and everything with it. Not only would it violate many of the mafia's laws but it would ensue chaos and bloodshed. Sonny will need to make all the right moves to prevent this from even being a possibility...

1. Who was your first ever OC? Do you still “use” them? How have they evolved over time?

first ever oc was one i made when i was like 3-4 with my grandma and i called her nature girl. she was a superhero plant woman fairy thing—very inspired by that one green fairy from neopets as i got older lol. but i don’t use her at all she’s not really my style anymore tho i do still enjoy fairies. i think it’d be interesting to try and give her a form or design—a revamp of some sort, and i tried in like 2015 i think but i don’t feel like trying to find that sketchbook lol. it doesn’t do her justice but maybe i’ll try again one day.

6. Do you have any OCs without stories? Will you ever create one for them?

quite a bit but sorta—mostly bc all of my characters have at least a bare bones general gist about them? however between characters i only draw or characters that were abandoned from old wips with my ex/roleplays that i don’t do anymore i do have some. i usually try to repurpose these ocs; like di, toph, quill, red, hel (all came from the same now defunct universe for example) but there are some that just kind of exist in limbo bc they’re so tied to their stories i can’t figure out what to do with them (an example is aslin rou eliduel; a fae esque dude) or i just can’t think of much to do with them (like utah & gator as an example). soooo i wanna do stuff with all my ideas if i can but i’ve accepted that sometimes it takes time or maybe it won’t happen at all lol.

7. What are your favourite relationships between your OCs? (romantic or platonic!)

i have a LOOOOT of favorite relationships across my wips. amon & hya are the obvious chief otp but here are some of my other favorites:

TCOL: by nature of having a huge cast i have a lot of favorite relationships but clear x forte, lath & ensio (i’m extremely not normal about them), piper & saith (ugh… the unrequited really hits the spot for me idk), erik x dion (THEM!!!!!), cameron x jihi (ouGhHh), and altair x charissa i’m not normal about

carlos & jenna from TLSS are my literal everything do not separate. also the polycule from donut wip of julissa, andres, saul, daisy, and joaquin is 🤌🏾🤌🏾. juls and juvia’s sisterhood makes me emo also

GOD EATER: not normal about naveah & little bear or taj x thei or the four of them in any aspect. also while lucifer x ava / lucifer x kyu is SLIGHT crack i’m still 👀

TGWD: definitely graves and dove but that’s obvious

VDTRT: aside from darren x gabe, dave x estel (crackish but it’s lowkey canon to me), corsel x blackpeak, and raymond x laurent (ESPECIALLY THESE TWO OHHHHHHHH MY GOD) do it for me

I know you aren’t into Victonny anymore but these scenes have been pestering me lately and I needed to ask you about what they’d be like in the Victonny AU series (I think there are three or four different ones?)

Sonny finds out about Fredo’s disloyalty to the family and how it put Victoria and her/his kids in danger

The bedroom shooting scene

The whole Donna thing and what Sonny & Victoria would think about it all

The heightened security on the compound

Connie’s behaviour after Carlo’s death and her attitude towards her children and family

Regardless of the AU, I can see Sonny actually getting physically with Sonny here. Everyone in the family and especially (and firstly) Victoria would lunge at Sonny to pry him off of Fredo, but there would be punches thrown and Sonny would demand Fredo's exile from the family business and Corleone family altogether. I can also see him having a private discussion with Fredo, growing increasingly frustrated recalling everything that he's found out, and Victoria calming him down but still getting to the point that he's disowning Fredo as a brother.

Sonny would be nowhere near as calm as Michael and 100% insistent Victoria is kept safe and under watch without any chance she can help out or step outside until Sonny himself confirms its safe. He'd grab his own gun and scour the entire compound until he's satisfied and triple security for Victoria and his kids. I don't imagine Sonny would live down his anger and protectiveness for at least a week or two after this.

I don't really see this as much of a concept tbh, especially not with Sonny. 👀

Heightened security would be the bare minimum. Sonny would have more enemies and therefore more to worry about. It wouldn't be an issue for Victoria, but that's because I see her growing more concerned over time as to what Sonny's been getting himself into, therefore raising concern over how safe it'll be going forward as they raise their children together on the compound.

Sonny wouldn't entertain Connie's outbursts or antics whatsoever, but I see Connie having more trust and faith in Sonny than Michael. I think she would want to be with the family much more with Sonny being the Don. I still see a great sibling relationship between the two of them, and I don't see Sonny wanting to be a controlling older brother over her. I think he would want to keep Connie close to home just for her own good but after Carlo, I see Sonny blaming himself a bit for how Connie's spiralled out of control, divorce after divorce.

In a lot of modern encanto Hcs i notice that it’s a lot of English music, now I recognize most of the songs and enjoy it as much as very one else. But I liked to think of some artists/songs that sing/ are in Spanish or Spanglish that each family member would enjoy. Also if you guys can send me hcs like this I’d really enjoy it :)

basically...i feel like he doesn't have a very coherent sense of his own identity–i'll explain that more in a minute.  really, the main detail where i seem to differ in opinion from some other people is that i think he doesn't really have a lot of connection to his past/heritage–he seems very american to me and i think he thinks of himself that way (to an extent).  considers himself a businessman, i think, probably calls himself one too, and not in a winking "i'm a legitimate businessman" way either; i think he believes it in some sense.  he's a modernizer, he has no regard for tradition or old values, he's very "this is a business and we should run it like one."  he's narratively contrasted very hard against vinci & leo, who are old school–leo says of him in ch6, “he’s new blood, whereas don vinci is a man of honor, he respects the old ways,” and i don’t recall him being referred to as “don falcone” at any point (he might’ve been at some point idk)–i actually have a headcanon that people mostly call him “mr. falcone” in contrast to the other bosses.  additionally, carlo’s killing of moretti, another old school traditionalist, was symbolic of modernization in a way too.  he’s a lucky luciano type to his core, no time for old “outdated” traditions.  overall he strikes me much more as this like, “new american wiseguy” rather than having much of a connection to any kind of legacy, though i imagine that has to cause some level of internal strife.

now to get into the incoherency thing, he has a very specific image he seems to be going for; he's known for philanthropy, and there's a newspaper clipping from the potts files talking about his "cheerful attitude" and him being a donor to the empire bay press guild and how he's always getting slandered, so clearly he's good at PR, though the cheerful thing seems to be a facade just for the press.  overall i think he's trying to seem like a businessman, and he's trying to seem upper class and refined.  but he's new money.  he grew up a working class immigrant kid, and no amount of philanthropy and and charisma and opera-going is going to make any of the old money snobs see past that.  i get the vibe in his later years he’s kind of ashamed at having grown up poor, or at least he has this sense of “i’m never going back” (probably the same way vito does, but carlo…had what it took, i guess) that probably makes it difficult to reconcile the fact that he had some good times back then–he even expresses nostalgia for his prohibition days in the planetarium shootout.  hell, the existence of the maltese falcon bar kind of sums it up–it’s a nice restaurant themed after pulp detective novels, which were considered fairly lowbrow at the time (and hell, maybe even now).  it’s a contradiction.  i feel like, to an extent, he probably talks himself out of thinking those were the good old days, but i don’t think he can let go completely.

thirdly i think he had a lot of doubts about killing moretti and probably had to talk himself into it, convincing himself it was for the good of the family and he could do much better than the old man, and that the war just needed to end.  he doesn’t seem heartless to me either–he rewarded eddie and jack for their loyalty, he kept tony balls around after he survived the car bomb that killed moretti, he still regards eddie as a close friend despite secretly viewing him as a liability.  he seems personable enough and actually talks to his men even if, again, for PR reasons.  i think he probably went further off the rails as the stress of being boss got to him and there were multiple attempts on his life (rocco, frankie potts), he got paranoid and arrogant, and and he finally spiraled into “everyone who stands in my way has to go” and recklessly attacking everyone, but i don’t think he started that way.  he would’ve gone after the other families sooner if he had.  he certainly doesn’t seem to alienate people as fast as, say, clemente does.

honestly i think i kind of lost the plot trying to explain myself here and maybe i’ll make another post someday if i can figure out a better way to word things, but the long and short of it is that i think he’s a walking contradiction in many ways and it wears on him.  and to borrow a line from “red light” by wall of voodoo (which is a great song btw), his attitude is very much “this modern world deserves a modern attitude!”
