So it’s been a while. And I feel obligated to explain my lengthy absence from… everywhere. My email is so full I’m low key terrified.

On New Year’s Eve, I found out the hard way I have asthma. I thought I was tackling a stubborn cold with a particularly nasty cough, but it culminated in a trip to the ER after I all but stopped breathing and felt hypoxic. My oxygen saturation had dropped into the 60s and I was put on oxygen. Went through the whole barrage of tests, chest x rays and blood draws. And the culprit? RSV and the asthma I had thought was imaginary. Despite my own body’s efforts to cancel my subscription to the bullshit year we are now living in, I was discharged after 6 hours just an hour before midnight. To put it simply, I felt like total shit but no longer in danger.

RSV knocked me and J absolutely flat for 2+ weeks. I still am dealing with fatigue and respiratory/cardio hiccups as I try to get back to how life was before. And before I could get to that point, life threw another wrench.

Raclette, my darling pup I had adopted back in October, who I was assured had been spayed (having come from the shelter where it is required) had gone into heat. Which leads me to believe that her first owners had (for whatever crazy reason) lied to the shelter about spaying her, and there were no records of her from before her time at the shelter. To say I was disappointed and alarmed is an understatement, and my suspicions were confirmed by our vet. Poor girl has been in a diaper for a week and a half and her spay is 3 weeks away. We are both miserable and I’ve had my hands full taking care of her. She’s restless at night so I’m not sleeping well, but I would never hold it against her.

So yeah! Art took a severe back seat, and I will need to reevaluate my relationship with art once the commission queue has been emptied. It’s gonna be an extremely rough year and I’m looking to find things that bring me more joy while taking better care of myself (and the dog). It’s a tall order but it needs doing!

What if the Ultimate Lifeform and the Fastest Thing Alive grew up together?

This has been an AU that has been crawling around in my brain since the first movie and I needed to get it out somehow 😭

In this AU, after Sonic sets off the blackout, he immediately uses a ring in his cave but when he gets attacked by drones, it breaks the ring and causes him to travel to the past and he lands unconscious in front of the GUN labs. The same day, Shadow’s meteor had landed.

Sonic becomes an essential part to Project Shadow as he is the only other species reminiscent to Shadow’s biology, a mentor to Shadow on how to use his speed, and is one of the only people Shadow considers as a friend. And if you’re a friend of Shadow, Sonic instantly makes a bond with his sister, Maria.

Sonic and Maria are practically reflections of each other, getting into hyperactive mischief and dragging Shadow around to show off their pop culture knowledge.

After years of loneliness, Sonic believes he finally found a home.

So when the project gets shutdown, Sonic doesn’t go down without a fight.

“You want him? You gotta get through me. Shadow, take Maria and go. I’m done running away.”

“Sonic-”

“Go!”

“Come on, Maria.”

”Sayonara, Sonic the Hedgehog.”

Sonic learns his lesson on refusing to run away in a twisted way. He defends the lab with his overwhelming power, leaving casualties and injuries on the way.

In a single night, Sonic has become a national threat. While Shadow must be stored away, Sonic must be executed on sight but he goes missing before they could.

A broken ring sends Sonic back to Green Hills, as if he never left. Instead of being hunted by the government to uncover the strange power, they know exactly what they are looking for. Sonic is relieved to home again but he knows he can’t stay. He has a family to save.

“Here we go. Hold on Maria. Hold on Shadow. I’m coming.”

Currently listening to Malevolent and fuuuuuccccckkkk. As a Magnus Archives survivor I thought that nothing could scare me as much, but I was wrong.

While TMA scares you with long, chilling tales, Malevolent is totally different. The protagonist can't see, and while this is a very original way to put the podcast format, is terrifying on a whole another level.

YOU are the protagonist, you too can't see but only hear, and you too are guided by this mysterious voice. Who is John? Can you trust him? Does he really not remember anything or is he hiding something from you?

So, this far, I'm loving this podcast.

Trying to find help for my condition its 1000 resources meant for the elderly combined with a massive distrust of doctors due to previous medical malpractice + the cost of american healthcare with it being thousands of dollars for an MRI scan with insurance means that im going to be suffering the consequences of my brain damage for the rest of my life with no assistance. yuki has definitely gotten fluffier since we adopted her. she was bald when she was rescued and the shelter did wait until her fur had recovered before putting her up for adoption, but shes gotten even better yayyyy
