So, what are my thoughts on this funny tune?:

It's just really funny.

It is so... discord and anime coded. It's giving "I picked up x and just... started - and it's been a whirlwind since then, and idk how i got here, but im a master of the craft now.." And it is so jokes, makes me wanna laugh at him + tell him to su because of how stupidly GOOFY IT IS

I go to skl still btw for those who don't know, and being among ppl my age who have a similar internet feed as me is HILARIOUS - BC THIS SONG IS EVERYWHERE.

Like bro - my skl is celebrating black history month (shoutout to black ppl + all POCs asw) and one thing the year-13-diversity-group have been doing is playing songs by black artists with speakers over the canteen every lunch.

So there's genuinely been a whole hall of people chanting FEIN this week at my school.

But not only that - thick of it was also played, and fuck me was it acc hilarious hearing a whole chorus of "THIS IS HOW THE STORY GOES!". Even at the end of assembly where the speakers blasted Thick Of It whilst everyone walked out as a fun lil treat. Too fucken funny bro.

I don't feel for JJ - because he's warranted all the hate or jokes upon himself - but I empathise. I feel sympathy for why he feels like shit... But I fear that he does deserve it.

Starting with: Lunchly.

Lunchly? It was always a stupid business venture for him. Great for Logan and MrBeast - but i fear jj just got roped along bc he's logan's business partner, now.

Because bffr- what the fuck reasoning does JJ have to be marketing a product to Americans?

Lunchables is almost solely for American Kiddies, but JJ's influence is prettttyyyyy UK n Europe based. Sure, he's got fans in America - but it's so stupid for KSI - a British celebrity - to be marketing and having to endorse and support a pretty primarily American product that isn't gonna touch the UK for a long time (god bless the EU health policies)

So, because he has everyone hating on him for releasing lunchly - a very poor quality food which is marketed as a "better as lunchables" product whilst having negligible differences....

KSI's ruined his credibility. Because he's becoming a joke.

Bro built up a fanbase for 10+ YEARS of people who followed him because they honestly liked him, and is ruining all that trust and relationship by using this same fanbase for money and hoping they buy into his quick money-grabs... It's got Logan Paul and American YouTube/business written all over it ibfr... But it's so saddening to see it happening to YouTubers I really did like..

So, everyone thinks KSI's a joke because he released a shit product and won't take DanTDM's thwack of reality, that says "JJ, what you're doing is immoral and unethical."

Well, it can either just be that JJ wants to post music again... Or to distract everyone from the fact that Lunchly and JJ's credibility is honestly fucking awful atm.

Problem now, is that instead of people eating up the new music as the KSI team probably expected - "YAY, KSI RELEASED NEW MUSIC!" - everyone's hating on it because:

a) no-one likes him because he beefed with DanTDM b) no-one likes him because he uses his audience's trust to make himself more money with no interest in the goodness of his fans c) it isn't a very.... hardman song.

JJ knows his audience. His target audience and who watches most of his content. Probably Middle-Older teen boys... So when you release a wet little song talking about your life and hardships you face with a cutesy lil beat and melody - THESE BOYS THAT YOUR FANBSE IS MADE OF THINK IT'S STUPID!!!!!!!! BECAUSE GUESS WHAT FANBASE YOU'VE CREATED!!!!!! ONE THAT'S COMPRISED OF PEOPLE WHO WOULDN'T ENJOY THIS MUSIC!!!

If you're a man that posts try not to laughs and reveal that your sense of humour and primary style of jokes is something that's racist or homophobic or misogynistic or targetting fat people - any minorities or group of people that face a lot of bullying...

You attract bullied; you attract what you put out into the world. Which in JJ's case, has been these insensitive mid-older teen boys that are also fans of racism, "dark humour", misogyny and these targetted jokes.

No-one (in his audience) likes his body. And it's depressing him, which feels so interesting to see. And his reaction (the sadness and crying over nobody liking his song) I've boiled down to being sourced from either one of three things.

a) Ego. Is he hurt because of his ego? Because he thought this'd be a good song, and he sees himself as some sort of impressive, incredible man - and seeing his song actively get memed as a whimsical little anime song hurt his ego? Because he feels as though he deserves respect and to be loved? b) Depression. Consider the Poppin' song released in lockdown; everyone online said it's shit. JJ could take it on the chest though, and could handle that feedback - smiling and laughing and content with knowing himself, that it was a good song - even if not everyone agreed. Here, JJ is so hurt by all the criticism. And that could be out of depression... After all, can you really be happy when the whole world seems to hate everything you do? I empathise - but I acknowledge that he's brought it all upon himself. All of his controversies are BUSINESS RELATED and caused by him wanting to manipulate his audience into buying his products, without caring about his fans. It's ruined his credibility, because people dislike him for it, and he gains a lot of negative responses for it. Everything negative we see and ourselves post online could very well be making JJ feel just truly hated. He might honestly just be depressed and in quite a vulnerable and raw state, whereby he can't handle the criticism because he's already so hurt he can't bounce back. It's like putting more and more weight on a broken bone; it won't recover and it's only getting worse. Is JJ so unenthused and flat in his reactions towards the criticisms towards the songs because of genuine depression? c) Marketing. The tough fact is that all these reactions and memes for his song gain media coverage and plays. Because this song is so shit that it's addictive. And JJ acting sad and playing into the fact that he doesn't like getting bullied does frankly make ppl run this joke even further, and mean that this song just spreads even further. For all we know, the sadness JJ shows in reactions to this song are literally all just an act meant to boost the song even further.

d) Manipulation. Issssssss JJ just manipulating you into feeling pity so that you start empathising n sympathising with him and brush his lunchly + poor-business-ethics-misdemeanours under the rug? Does he just want to manipulate you and evoke a sense of pity to rebuild a relationship and rust between you and "KSI", so that you'll forgive him for everything you condemned him for online? MAYBE!

I've just been analysing this guy in his reaction vids + online, and honestly, it's so interesting having a little contemplate between Biology and Chemistry and shitting Maths <3

Hello. I don't know if this is a question you get a lot but I would like to know how did you learn how to make music ? because they are really catchy and I would love to learn how to make music for video games

Im self taught when it comes to composing, I pirated FL Studio when I was 15 and started screwing around with it, mostly using soundfonts from different video games to make extremely simplistic songs. I didn’t and still dont know how to play keyboard or anything, so I just messed around with the piano roll and manually input notes into the program and gradually got a better ear for stuff over time

Ok before I continue to fail to beat the Toby Fox allegations I do need to say: his music really never really influenced mine. HOWEVER this tutorial is honestly what inspired me to start writing music and I still barely do anything more complicated than what’s laid out here:

I still really think that just messing with video game soundfonts, having fun, not overcomplicating things or having too high a bar for myself was a really good way to start off. I dont think I’d be where I am now if i wasn’t happy starting off making like, 20 second long songs with 2 instruments that sound like they’re from a subpar atari game soundtrack. You don’t have to do any of what I did specifically, but I do think finding any program and screwing around with it — with intent to explore rather than to make an amazing finished product — is a great way to start and get yourself excited to learn 👍

As for how to create ideas for songs: Idk most of the time I don’t have an idea I just pick a random instrument and randomly input shit in the piano roll until I accidentally come up with a combination of a couple notes that sounds semi interesting and use that as a jumping off point. Maybe not the best way to go about it but it is an option

2. The reasons why people can’t stop themselves from binging is because of sugar and flour. Eating those foods or food containing them MAKE u hungry. 3. After 3 days of fasting, the hunger goes away. Push through it & you’ll notice it gets easier. When u break your fast ALWAYS do it with something healthy like fruits or vegetables. 4. After 2mins of running or high intensity exercise, your body runs out of energy & begins to fuel you by producing cortisol to keep u going. High amounts of cortisol results in your body storing BELLY FAT. So if u happen to notice that u store belly fat mainly, that could be the reason. 5. Starvation mode is a myth. Look at prisoners of war for example. They are so emaciated due to lack of food, if “starvation mode” was true, they wouldn’t end up like that. Maybe u may not loose for a few days but that is your body holding water or possibly gaining muscle, if it prolongs further than this see my next tip. 6. Your body has a natural rhythm known as the circadian rhythm. This in short like an internal clock that regulates our sleep-wake cycle and other bodily functions. It helps us feel awake during the day and sleepy at night. It's influenced by factors like light exposure, hormones, and daily routines. It means that your body doesn’t digest food the same at night, if at all. It isn’t supposed to. If u feed yourself after 6-8pm, the digestion process is slower, much slower. This can cause to hormones being released at the wrong time, storing fat, keeping u awake etc. It is best to not eat after 6pm (if u heard this tip from ur mother growing up, it is actually science backed, its not so u “eat less & that makes u loose weight” its because u stop eating after a certain time. 7. Birth-control whacks out your hormones. If u are on BC & find u have all these cravings & can’t seem to restrict, thats most likely the reason why. A lot of doctors will tell u “its just water weight” but thats not the case. The constant stream of synthetic hormones keeps your body in a state that similarly reflects how u feel the week before your period (bloated, craving, tired etc) and u feel this way continuously. 8. Also on the topic of hormones, if u aren’t loosing weight no matter what u do or its very slow progress, it can be due to a hormonal imbalance. Exactly which one im not sure, it depends on you and your body. U can see which hormones are out of balance via online tests (idk what to google i read it in a book). Completing tests online can give u a rough idea of which hormones may be unbalanced and then u can go to your doctor and request certain tests to medically check. Your dr can then advise you on what to do to balance them. You may also have hyperthyroidism which can make u constantly tired, unable to loose weight and sensitive to stress. That is all i can think of rn. I have read all books i have sited & many many more. There is definitely a huge science to weight loss and i may make another post in the future stating what i have learnt. Most books are written by drs or people of similar qualifications. I applied all these to my life and loose weight continuously. My mother is also a certified nutritionist, personal trainer and life coach & she also follows all these things & has read the same if not more books. She is almost 50 & bmi 18.3 & has consistently been this way for my whole 21yrs of living even after having 3 kids. She doesn’t loose weight due to her high calorie intake (like 3k cals a day) but she also doesn’t gain weight so if u follow these examples by restricting u will see major weightloss. I also have lost 5kg in 8 days from following these tips this relapse & last relapse i lost 30kg in 4ish months from these tips.

well in general i agree that, yeah, the show is more interested in satire and criticism than offering any kind of imaginative solution or alternative. so, if you want to watch something that suggests alternatives to logan-style misogyny (& i'd understand why) then i think you're going to be dissatisfied with this show. like, obviously even with logan gone, his influence still haunts the company and the family, and anyway the broader structures of capitalism and its use / exploitation of women were always much larger than logan alone. all of this also applies to how roman and kendall (& to a lesser extent connor) are punished for failing to live up to standards of masculinity; logan feminised kendall to punish him for business failures and derided roman for what he saw as a more innate femininity that made roman disgusting to him.

i actually think gender is a strong suit for the show. it's very deeply interested in how they each relate to standards of bourgeois masculinity and femininity, and how these strictures are confining and punishing (often literally, as logan used them as tools of his abuse). for shiv she lived up to some of logan's femands for an heir (her emotional repression, flashes of killer instinct) but was ultimately always doomed by the fact that logan saw her as permanently being his little girl, denied a body (bc this was less disgusting to him than thinking of her as a woman) and never the right fit for his corporate mould, even when she was trying her hardest to fit it. roman and kendall ofc pick up on this and the way her gender can be used in itself to lock her out of the upper echelons of power (a walking pair of teats, all the men got together in man club). but ultimately this is a dissection of misogyny and masculinity, not a suggestion for escape.

i have mixed feelings about the sort of ethical argument here. it is fair to say that succession has a fundamentally conservative ethos in the sense that the satire and snark angle is uninterested in offering solutions or imagining alternatives. it's grounded in exploring capitalism, fascism, the resulting gender politics, &c, and to the extent that it challenges these things, it's by portraying them as worthy of mockery. it's not a leftist political treatise. but like, i think there's a can of worms to open here in terms of asking how revolutionary a television show is capable of being simple by virtue of the medium. like, even if the content is radical internally, does is matter that the form is still one embedded in capitalist production, ie, that the show is a commodity on the same market? i identify the root of misogyny within the capitalist mode of production; how far is something made within these parameters capable of going in offering any kind of alternative? and also, do we care? like, am i watching tv because i'm looking for radical politics? again, this doesn't negate the critique of succession's critique. but i do think it's a bit... trite? to ask tv to be some kind of moral guide---particularly on a show where the premise is such that any 'challenge' to misogyny would still be constrained within the bourgeois world the characters inhabit.

TL;DR: Siobhan doesn't really have a unique voice and she doesn't want one. Most of the time she tends to talk very formally (like her mother) other times she is more chaotic (like her great-great-grandmother). She alternates her formal and casual language; she will use proper and improper words in the same sentence she doesn't care. She has an Irish accent (dont ask me what sort I can't decide) and also she AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THE SOUND: My weakness….exposed…..I haven't decided what sort of Irish accent Siobhan has….she just uh….has one. Just imagine one. When it boils down to the sound of her voice, I imagine it is similar to the tone and cadence of Anne Hathaway’s voice, just with an accent. She does love the sound of her own voice. Because she’s Siobhan. I think she carries a photo of herself around and kisses it before bed or something.

She does tend to have a more up-beat, chipper, sounding voice. Very, “oh, interesting, tell me more”; the friendliness of her voice is juxtaposed with her love of threatening people. If speaking more formally, there’s a more haughty quality to her voice. EITHER WAY, Siobhan constantly adjusts herself to fit whatever mood she’s in or whatever she thinks the situation calls for

THE STORY OF IT: Siobhan doesn’t have a voice of her own. A voice is an identity, a claim to life, both things Siobhan wasn’t born to have. No one wanted her to be unique, no one wanted her to have a voice that can be used to express sacrilege. The truth is, when she’s speaking more honestly, the words are clumsy and emotional and she loathes it. Whatever woman exists underneath the brainwashing of her life, she hates her. She doesn’t want her. She’ll do whatever she has to to get rid of her.

SINGING: she can sing, and sing well (very disney princess-y; that clear, gentle voice, very soprano…but not like the TV show), but also she’s a banshee so maybe don’t let her sing. She sang a lot at Saol Eile, with the folksy lilting they did

FILTER-WORDS: she doesn’t use them because they would imply weakness. Though, if being honest, she does “um”, stutter and mumble--she’s the least confident trying to “be herself” and she’s unpractised and uncomfortable with it. 

LANGUAGE (idk what to call this part just go with it): Siobhan likes the word “insipid”. She does use some Irish slang on occasion but I’m dumb and forget she’s Irish sometimes so probably not as much as she would. She would prefer to speak in Irish, as it’s her first language, but feels like she can’t because of her exiled status and because a woman who wears a “humans suck” t-shirt and speaks Irish is a little too obvious, even for her. So she defaults to English and peppers some Irish around like a garnishing 

SCREAMING: when she screams she sounds like "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

the only thing i've really been able to gather of Estradasphere's political leanings is that they Really didn't like Bush lol, which hey thats a point in my book but they never specifically said why. not that they needed to. they were a deeply unserious band who bonded over their love of glam metal and soap operas they were never really about Sending A Message or anything. John was the only member of the band who was outspoken about anything, and he seems to have been leftleaning buuuut in a lukewarm pacifist ''why cant we all just get along, peace and love, bring our soldiers home'' way which i find kinda spineless IMO... at least he condemned the aids crisis?? he only started making more political music after he left estradasphere though i wouuuld say "well hey at least they werent bigots then yippee!" buuuut there were some aspects that were... well OK i wouldn't really call esphere straight up bigoted but there were some pretty distasteful things they did that i've had to reckon with. the stereotypical "native american-esque" chanting on A Very Intense Battle done by a white guy, for one and also the explicitly racist spoken word clips before and after it which Are definitely satirical, but ... idk i feel like the whole "rural america sucks, parts of this country are so backwards!" theme of Buck Fever is kinda immature, especially coming from a bunch of white californians lol. like, as someone from alabama i do get the sentiment i guess, the south does suck sometimes, but idano, it's not handled with any of the seriousness or sensitivity that such a topic probably deserves, is all. that's not even my main issue with them, though - it's the constant use of the g slur. like. come on. i'm admittedly not sure if it was widely considered a slur yet back then but it does still make it kinda cringeworthy to look at and share their old promotional materials nowadays (they mostly used it to describe their sound; romani music was a huge influence for them). also i won't mirror it here but tim makes a joke that's Sort Of Racist I Think(?) about romani people in the passion for life dvd commentary and timb agrees with it... argh. to jack their shit and then turn around and disparage them... argh. but you could make a case that they know better now - they Could have used the g slur to describe the sound of the high castle teleorkestra album but they say eastern european / romani folk music instead which is nice. i dunno, i don't think it'd be productive to #Cancel estradasphere 15-20 years after the fact ofcourse but i guess i just wanted to document somewhere my Struggle in reconciling my unfathomably deep love for the band with the fact that theyve done some shitty things. even after saying all this estradasphere is still my favorite band ever and buck fever is still my favorite album ever. idk, i don't think the whole mindset online of not wanting to listen to any problematic artists is healthy

one of the videos he reacted to was from some 21yo beauty influencer or some rando idk, I'm not on there. her piece of advice was to "always sleep on your back like a vampire to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and crows feet. that's how I stay looking so fresh... even though yes I'm 21 which contributes quite a bit but still. be disciplined about sleeping on your back ALL NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT to get the PERFECT SKIN!!!" like im sorry, what???? you're 20 fucking one (21). why the FUCK do you feel compelled to give "anti-aging" advice??? why the fuck do you even care about anti-aging stuff when you're like at least 10 YEARS away from any considerable signs of aging beginning to slowly show??? get the fuck out of the house and enjoy nature or some shit. instead of lamenting that you're "getting so old by the minute so I MUST ELIMINATE laugh lines and crows feet even though im still only 21."

classic j dies and goes to hell - glass beach: im fiiiinally getting around to glass beach and why didn't ANYONE say it was good? don't think ive heard the opinion that the first glass beach album is good yet. i wanted to listen to more bc of the hazel "Twinkle Park" version of the self titled song which is also very good but i put this one on this list bc it builds energy and emotion soooo well. it starts so somber but builds and builds till we're screaming about supporting each other and making a home for yourself despite despite despite.

DOGTOOTH - Tyler, The Creator: he creates once more! i always forget i had a kinda big tyler thing in high school until he releases new music. out of all his recent releases post-Flower Boy, Call Me didnt connect with me as much, but this single from the Call Me If You Get Lost "estate sale" of stuff that didnt make the album surprisingly did! it feels a little flowerboy-ish in the production but has the call me vibes of like "i can afford all these cars, buy my neighbors house, and ill still take my private plane to Switzerland for the day just cuz i was craving some nice chocolate" very braggadocio, very tyler, very good :)

Dumbass!! - Machine Girl: this song both sounds like and has similar effects as brainworms. it fuckin. got in there and made me quantifiably more insane than i was before. said brainworms make me wanna scream the lyrics and scuffle my feet and just like run into traffic and dance around the cars bc this song makes me believe i could and id be fine. i hope to fucking god they play this at the mg/100 gecs show. this song is also one of the few times ive looked up the lyrics for a machine girl song, usually content to just let the beats jar my head, and as soon as i did i couldnt get them out :) like some sort of... thought... eating... something or other idk theres probably a word for it (<-the worms are finally getting to her)

Fantastic Cat - Takako Minekawa: this song is sooooo cute, there is so much synth and whimsy to be had! unfortunately i don't know much about the artist bc this was one of the first songs i found after using Radiooooo (which u should be basically required to use if u like music and finding new music) set to Japan in the 90s, but she's part of the 'shibuya-kei' genre/subculture that was popular during that time, which sounds like an interesting topic to dive into :3 the whimsy contained in this song is almost too much tho. the melody is so sweet, that wind instrument is so silly, and the moog breakdown in the middle too is. well, its all quite fantastic.

HI 5 - Frost Children: i took too long making this post that this entry went from originally a cheeky indirect plug for their upcoming album bc i just really liked this single to just,, oh the album came out... but either way i wanted to talk about the song bc 2 me its just more proof of how exciting of a voice in hyperpop the frost children are. the bass on it is as crazy and slick as the one on the cover. this whole song just explodes with eccentricity i think ull really like it :) also check out the epic music video! its ai generated for those who'd like to know beforehand, but they use it to like. rotoscope real footage its preddy neat!

Introduce me to your family - Otoboke Beaver: i made a little post recently about Otoboke Beaver's influence on six impala's WFLYTD, and after revisiting their album, Itekoma Hits, after making that post i got this one stuck in my head for a while. the hook hooks (the main reason i had it in my head for so long), the bass is groovy, the guitars are sharp, the rage is channeled, its all here! they keep all the energy going and growing the whole time until you cant help but scream along.

(Kongaragatta!/Tangled up!)- Necry Talkie: started reading the bocchi manga recently (im just past where the show ends as of now :3) and they have art at the beginning of each chapter with the kessoku band members that references visuals from like irl japanese bands and music videos which i thought was really cool! of course i had to find a collection of all the referenced songs, and what do ya know... this cute little number was in there! (if ur wondering it's the art for chapter 18 that references this song's music video :3) its such a dinky beat at first (said so so lovingly) but it evolves into a precise, energetic little jam.

One Million Dollars - 100 gecs: this fucking sonnng.. not everyones fav off 10k i know but it is for me :3 it just rattles me in such a specific way. it originated and is the only way to sate the need in my brain to hear what it was like for nic cage in that "not the bees!!!!" scene. i love it sm, but im absolutely biased from my hearing this at a gec show and falling for it right then and there. the live version and the album version are a bit different and i think the changes they made for the album make it a fuller song i just. loved the feeling of hearing this live so much. i would just search up the epic live version at terminal 5 where Laura fucking SHREDS on the guitar at the end over and over while i was waiting for the album. again, makes me very excitied to see them and machine girl soon :3

o (__*) - Hakushi Hasegawa: i dont know much about this artist but goddamn the few songs i have heard from them have made such an impression. u know a song is good when its not even dnb but uses the "yeah.. woo!" sample to keep everything going. and yeah with how crazy fucking banana bonkers jazzy and technical the drums and piano get at times it needs that tiny bit of stability at least. this song feels like the epitome of controlled chaos in the absolute best way possible.

PARTY GIRL - Angel Electronics: after rook's latest solo album came out i decided to go back and visit this collab project of hers with ash nerve i had missed at first and.... weeeeeeh ;w; this song makes me wanna cry every time. rook can obviously write some bangers but i love her more tender songs too. so many parts come together to make it just the sweetest thing. the part that stuck with me the most was the chorus, like it's sooo cute id just sing it to myself on loop bc it leads into itself so well. i wanna just keep talking about how fucking cute this song is but like George Costanza voice the love story between the party girl and the weird shy girl got to me okay?

Prime - Marnie Stern: kinda the reason im making this list hehe :3 this song was on char 'igottawin' mp3's most recent WILT (what im listening to) poast (hi char :3) and it was What Im was Listening To... too... (both of us bc of this epic animation) so here it is on MY knockoff WILT post too mwahaha hahaha! haha but seriously guys this song is quite good. it does so much with all the variations on just that one verse and i get sucked into the lyrics and the guitars. and by the fourth time im chanting this same unending verse the song is surprisingly over and i just wanna listen to it again. this one deserves a 10 hr extended version frfr

Wait and Bleed - Slipknot & 青春コンプレックス(Seishun Complex) - Kessoku Band: whats this? a double entry? ahaha yes! 😈 i would've put these songs here separately bc ive been getting into both slipknot (thank u char :3) and the actual kessoku band album, both of which are quite good on their own. but i only combine their entries here bc of this epic mashup of these two songs by the aforementioned rook blackdresses which makes me unable to sing either without thinking of the other song. like the first three chords of the bocchi theme start playing and my brain wants to scream the GOODBYEEEEEE from Wait and Bleed. the slipknot chorus melds with the kessoku band guitars soooo well. to me they are pieces from different puzzles entirely but they still fit together <3

okay so i do think my timeline theory does in fact work actually better now with the new dates that we have

again if you havent heard me talk about this i have a standing theory that by closing night of tour taylor will have announced all of the rest of the rerecords

so as we’ve all been thinking 1989 tv is gonna (clowning) be announced next week on 8/9 aka closing night of the first us leg. evidence to support this is literally everything taylor has done since red tv era, the sofi stadium post where they had a picture of a lifeguard tower with 1989 (taylors version written on it), all of these influencers and taylors friends being invited and going to these LA shows, people are also using the lyrics from when emma falls in love “shes so new york when shes in LA” which would be very true if she announced 1989tv in LA. i personally think 1989tv will be announced on 8/9 the same way speak now was announced in nashville, with a release date sometime in september or october and i do think thats for a reason because she has a VERY large break in tour which is very much needed but we all know blondie doesnt sleep so shes probably gonna be doing a BUNCH of promo and running around for 1989tv.

now onto 8/17/24 that is the last london date and this date stuck out to me specifically because she added SO MANY NEW EUROPE DATES but she refused to change this to be the last (at the time) eras tour date? so i immediately knew she was planning something on that date. before these new dates we got today i thought it was gonna be debut tv and she would announce rep somewhere in the middle of int tour. but even i didnt really believe that because rep is so london coded?? like out of all the places london seems to be the most reasonable to announce rep tv in. it also stuck out to me because SHES GOING TO LONDON ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS YALL so i think shes gonna announce rep tv on the last london date with a release date somewhere around the same time as 1989tv so in september or october and because she now has shows in october she might pull a speak now tv and have the release date be a show night!

You are so real for saying the thing about the main reason TOP was chosen for the dearmoon crew. Im not throwing shade. It is was it is. The man doesnt get enough credit for his networking skill. Dare I say he is naturally better at the game than most people would think. Everything about his personality just magically aligns to create this image of warm-on-the-inside cool guy which is already appealing to most people, which I believe he really is but to a much more exaggerated degree in the case of stage image. The thing is, people expect him to be this wild card so even its just him loosen up a bit its already a game changer. He effortlessly charms everyone that way. I think he definitely awares of this power and knows how to use it well. And thats just the tip of the iceberg. Unlike SR, TOP is lucky his main interest is arts. Artist circle has always been full of elites and old money. These guys know how to keep their things behind the curtain. And idk if most fans are aware it, unlike what TOPs trying to do give off that aloof vibe, he care a great deal of what others thing of him. With dearmoon, he definitely has good intentions but it seems lacking self-awareness the way he put it as “for greater cause”, especially when we also have a space-dedicated youtuber on the same crew. Tbh the way I see it, dearmoon is a space business trip lol. TOP just happen to tick all the boxes they have in terms of needing someone with big social influence.

You get what I am saying, TOP picked a lucrative and highly esteemed hobby that has done more for him than he has done for it, but top gives the illusion he has done a lot for the industry. Seungri got wrapped up in the maknae curse of not outgrowing his idol and agency duties of picking activites and business ventures where you yourself have to work overtime to exert physical involvement and be the hype for your product. Seungri played checkers and TOP Played chess, you don't see top involving himself in activities and deals that require him being in public pandering, putting in a lot of work and literal socializing to make his projects a hit like the aori ramen (I may have gotten the name wrong) or burning sun. Burning sun was the worse investment SR ever made and he had to over involve himself in it and overexert himself meanwhile TOP, I mean this nicely, picks hobbies he can be physically lazy in that he already has great interest in that is easy to finnesse if you know what you're doing. what top does despite his immense passion for it, is no different than what a typical tumblr user who loves art just as much as him does. He just incorporates it into his personal and professional life with consistency and the aura of being a master at what he knows.

Also, yes, top knows what he's doing. TOP has excessive spending habits and loves a lavish lifestyle now. He knew and knows he needs an interest / side career that can keep that lucrative income in his pocket. Art is old money and new money combined, the most powerful people in the world are invested in art or have some inclination to it. Seungri took a carrie bradshaw ignorant route and involved himself with ventures that don't pay at all and don't keep your money long, sigh. Good for top though. honestly, if I ever dated an older man or someone of means, I would rush straight to the art scene and snag a man LOL. Sothebys auction house baby, here I come. I'm still waiting for him to do more work with Sothebys but it seems on a stand still and a one time thing back then. TOP needs to get his wine into another business that sells all sorts of wine and not just be a self seller of it, he's too big for that. Also, although it's criminal, you can launder and store money through expensive paintings so we never know if top is the tax evading type to do that.

another thing: I think top avoids relationships at least that serious and mature like the plague cause he knows he wouldn't have the freedom and room to be fully focused on the art world and his wine if he was with someone. this sounds mean but dating is like being a parent to an adult you are having sexual / romantic relations with. I know thats a weird analogy but it is. Especially with top dating the younger girls. it's a responsibility and you can't really rise in the art world with a hanger on unless it's a woman who has her own wealth and interests or is from the same industry.

Basically. He fit what they were looking for and he had great influence but wasn't TOO overhyped or like craze worthy i.e a bts guy that would have distracted from the mission itself. The billionaire chose well in picking top. Yeah, this is honestly just a pleasure cruise and space business trip for experimenting. It's not for any charitable cause or specfic Nasa research, you know how top is, he has to verbally elevate things to make it grander than what it is LOL.

goodluck to top and I hope he has fun this will breathe new life into him for sure. He will accomplish something many humans never have. This is what he needed to rehab and repair his image. manipulation does not have to be intentional to be manipulative. people with untreated BPD are often extremely manipulative but nothing they're doing is out of malice, they're just feeling extreme emotions that cause them to act in certain ways and develop certain dynamics... which are manipulative.

see, both can be true. manipulation isn't some abstract evil you intentionally weave into existence. i mean for some it is, but not most. but humans have certain natural and predictable responses to certain behaviors. crying is always gonna trigger sympathy because evolutionarily thats WHY ITS THERE. we don't cry for us, we cry to signal to our kin that we require aid.

same with yelling and being angry, it very reliably results in defensiveness and antipathy. the thing i notice about these discussions tho that bugs me is the implicit double standard. i can almost guarantee you that none of the people on the "normalize crying" side of the issue would be willing to extend a single shred of their prescriptions onto, say, guys who yell because they get genuinely angry or even just worked up/excited.

no, all of a sudden the normal human behavior whose very purpose for being is to communicate emotion and consequently induce reactions (cuz we're highly social animals) is actually manipulation and something which needs to be completely excised from a conversation or else you're quite frankly a terrible person and also innately a threat. but when that behavior is crying, suddenly we need to rise above our instinctual responses to emotional outbursts in order to be all uwu soft boy towards people who cry compulsively and without any sense of proportionality and really wish other people were just... less empathetic about people crying? is that a better world? one where nobody feels an innate emotional pull towards someone crying?

we want to be permissive of, shall we say, excess emotionality. but you can't extend that only to the emotionality that is comfortable for you to deal with. and people will say "oh but the crying response is often a product of abuse and trauma". which seems to imply that male anger is... not a product of trauma? so what, its innate then? men are just naturally only able to feel and express emotions through anger? cuz idk that kinda sounds like the pernicious psychological abuse of patriarchy on men resulting in toxic masculinity to me. but what do i know, im just a mentally ill person who tends towards yelling in the situations where some of my mentally ill peers tend towards crying, so basically im an evil man trying to silence women 🤷‍��️

honestly tho, idk what the right answer is. there should probably be more understanding than there is now and more space for humans to be emotional in conversation, but there's always a point at which the only responsible way to handle it is to remove yourself from the situation. because displaying emotion NECESSARILY influences the behavior of other people and the interaction as a whole. again, i cannot overstate how social we are as animals, that's why that's the case, we can't escape it. but im sorry if you're like ugly crying and trying to have a convo or god forbid an argument with someone, thats not fair to them. you can't ask them to "just ignore it, bro", thats a situation where you just gotta leave and come back to it when you can compose yourself in a manner which doesn't induce an excess and undue level of manipulation. same with yelling. some should probs be acceptable, but too much and it's time to leave and cool down.

Y'know, some people do have a strong crying response to stress, and they might cry (even against their own will) when faced with an upsetting situation and that doesnt mean they are "gaslighting" or "manipulating" you.

There are people who use crying as a manipulation tactic? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean that every person that cries during a heated argument is trying to get under your skin. They have their own emotions and issues, and frankly, not everything other people do is a personal attack on you.

Listen, I really don't want to put down anybody's art or designs, especially as some petty attempt to raise up my own designs, since obviously my own are definitely the product of my own tastes and interests, but this is just my own personal opinion (and unsolicited advice) so here goes:

most of your "human designs" are kind of silly sorry

if you looked for a person with roughly the same personality and lifestyle as that character im willing to bet 80 percent of the time they would not fucking look or dress like that

sure the ones where its just their surface level motifs plastered onto a generic white anime boy are bad but i think the designs where they invariably look like a coquettish 18-25-yr-old who does alt fashion and makeup videos on tiktok are like almost the same exact thing, just on the other end of the horseshoe.

like im not even saying either are necessarily bad its just that both are obviously self-indulgent and based moreso on your own tastes than any careful consideration of what the original design is trying to communicate or what that kind of person would look like in real life. AND- and i am especially disappointed when a its a character that should be allowed to look older and maybe not totally conventionally attractive or fashionable or like someone who wears makeup often because really thats a lot of people and its more often than not closer to the kind of real-life people those characters are supposed to be of an analogue to.

part of this is also that a lot of the time the art style used for these designs has a major case of same face syndrome (even when, ironically, the art style of the original media has a lot of variety in features and head shapes) so, in lieu of a distinctive visage, one has to fuck around with a lot of extraneous details and acessories and way-overdesigned hairstyles (which something both ends of the aforementioned horseshoe have in common, btw) in order to make it distinct. my advice is to practice a little caricature, look around, even on pinterest, for people, actors, musicians, fashion influencers OUTSIDE YOUR WHEELHOUSE, etc. with interesting and unique faces/profiles and see how you can isolate their most distinct features and make that into a workable, simplified design, and once you work out how to do that it, in tandem with a unique body silhouette, can really carry a character design, removing the need for too many other details

IM HERE! I SHOULD BE DOING OTHER THINGS BUT IM HERE. Oh yeah and if you are likely to play D&D with me in real life please do not read. PLEASE.

🌍- Setting… hmmm… well we’re gonna talk about hollow tree because I need to regain motivation to work on it. The village they emerge in is very isolated. There used to be other places nearby, but they are completely abandoned. When the tree became active, most people fled the area and found another way of living, but the braver and more adventurous were, in many cases, forced to stay behind. Many generations have passed since then, so the people only know that there were inhabitants of those towns at some point in the past, and that they left because of the tree.

👑 - Rulers. When everyone left, the adventurer’s guild sort of.. took over in many ways. People turned to them for guidance, and the leaders of the guild now control most affairs of the town. This does mean that some abilities of trained rulers, such as monitoring production and keeping crime rates down were half-lost in the transition, and at this point, the leaders in the essential crafts are included in the ruling class, and the adventurer’s guild has lost some of its initial influence.

🏆- So, the end goal. This is kind of muddled because this is brainstorming for a D&D campaign but. The village is afraid of this tree because it leaks raw chaos magic (leaks may have been the wrong word but I’m keeping it now!). If the tree is left alone for too long, with no one traveling into it, monsters will emerge from the tree to attack the town, and occassionally, someone in the town will disappear into the tree during these attacks. Theoretically, the goal of the adventurers (in this case, Grian, Scar, and Gem) would be to stop these invasions and stop the seeping of chaos magic into the world by killing or destroying the source. This gets… a tad complicated.

⌛️- I’m honestly not quite sure what time period this takes place in. I think the realm in the tree is somewhat outside of time, and the village is advanced enough to have writing and whatnot. It’s probably sort of like medieval times, but… this isn’t Earth and everything developed differently

⛪️ - There are a couple of religions within the village. Although, it might be more accurate to call the majority of them cults. There is a dominant religion which I don’t think I’m going to go into too much, but it’s polytheistic and the clash of chaos and order is important. When the tree appeared, the group split, with most people believing that the attacks came as some sort of punishment from a god of death or something, but some people believing that the tree was a manifestation of some unknown and very powerful deity. The latter group devoted themselves to the tree and sought ways to appease it, rules shifting and changing when members were taken. The other group regarded the tree with fear, and most accepted its judgement as random, some seeking to pretend the tree was not there in the hopes that it would ignore them. Oddly enough, this didn’t not work.

Oh yeah and there’s also an underground cult for shits and giggles that worships the lane-oiling machine at a bowling alley. Idk if I will include this in the fic but it will be discoverable in the campaign.

💥- The conflict is definitely between the town/adventurers and the tree and it’s inhabitants. I don’t know what else to say about this. Words.

💣- The climax is triggered by two characters you haven’t met yet, who will be played by Etho and Joel. When they determine that Grian, Scar, and Gem have the abilities, they will lead the group deeper into the forest to find the creature who is causing all of this.

🤫- Big spoiler out of context? It’s just, like, some random old person. And they’ve been asleep the whole time.

🦋- This is hard. Because it’s a D&D campaign, the main characters can’t really have a lot of transformation- that’s determined by the players. The one NPC who I can say has a great deal of character development is Joel and Etho’s son. I can’t decide whether this is gonna be X, Mumbo, or Bdubs. We’ll see. He gets a little more fun at the end though. The other character who would have good development isn’t in the fic, soooo

🤒 - Is there a whump in the wip? See, this is even more difficult because I do plan on almost playing the campaign myself as I go through it. So yeah, someone might almost die or something. There will be stress. NPC friends might die depending on if we make friends with them. We’ll see!

🎧- Oddly enough, I do not have a playlist for this yet. So hold on while I think. It’ll be fast for you but not for me. This is taking a long time but I have one: Afraid of Quiet by Lydia the Bard and Ben Tomalin applies to the creature causing the chaos. Won’t Give Into Darkness by CK9C, but more Won’t Give Into Chaos technically. What words there are fit pretty well. OH! The Milk Carton by Madilyn Mei FITS SO WELL. That’s three. It took me like an hour 😅

🐱- The animals. So on the same side, the animals are fairly normal. They are far more susceptible to the chaos than fully conscious people, so they aren’t often kept as pets and animal farming and hunting is impacted significantly by the fact that animals occassionally go crazy and start attacking everything. On the chaos side, animals generally look rough, and the fauna consists mostly of monsters and of animals who went crazy or were taken during attacks.

🤝- Clearly the adventurers met when they entered the tree to play the newest Decked Out, and they meet shopkeepers as they explore the village. They meet Etho, Joel, and [undetermined]’s characters soon after entering back into the tree the first time. Most of the initial paths lead to their cottage. Perhaps I will write this bit sooner rather than later. I need to stop limiting myself to writing chronologically. As to how they meet the “antagonist” [undetermined] leads them to see it. I really don’t know whether they’re going to speak to each other or not.

🥀- Yea, I think I mentioned this earlier. Characters will die. No characters played by HC members will die, but likeable full-NPC characters will die. I’m not giving you any more specifics yet..

👀- piece of lore I really want to share? Etho and Joel play old gay grandfathers and Joel’s character has a violently blue fashion sense.

🕳️ - Plot holes. Uhhh… I’ll bet there are some but I am not far enough into the writing to have found any I don’t know how to patch up. 🌑 - Symbolism! I’d love to say I’d thought about that! There will be a creaky bridge! Simple things like darkness = danger, light generally being safe, but neon colors, which will often glow, are contradictory, also representing danger. I might try to use which plants are in an area to represent things. We’ll see.

🔮 - Magic system? Erm.. it’s D&D. So uh. Yes? Scar is going to be a wizard. I feel like I’ve already explains anything that might deviate from that base.

🎨 - OOOOHHH DARK GOOPY PURPLE AND VIBRANT GREEN. Also wood texture.

💡- Inspiration! So, the whole thing was actually inspired by a dream I had, which, oddly, I can still remember as vividly as it originally was months and months ago. Then I went, “Oh! D&D!” And then “Book for brainstorming!” And then “ooo what if fanfic?!” And that’s how this happened.

okay my thoughts on skincare are thus:

if you have a legit skin condition it can be really helpful in managing those painful/uncomfortable/embarrassing symptoms

even if you dont have a skin condition, learning how to take care of your skin is really useful for your overall health! its an organ that needs care and attention like any other

it just feels good to moisturize and have a clean face, etc.

its a relatively low-effort activity, which i appreciate esp when i'm not feeling well

even extraneous stuff like clay masks or whatever make me feel fancy

however

you probably dont need a 10-step routine (unless you have a legit condition and thats what works for you)

im wary of skincare influencers bc a lot of them like, make lip service to "you skin is good skin the way it is" but then immediately turn around and go "if i see a single fine line on my face despite being 39 im gonna go at it with 20 different products bc i need my skin to be perfect" and they do this publically so theyre gonna influence others to feel that way too. like. im not saying theyre not allowed to be flawed but like. cmon. its sooo hypocritical

on that note it feels really wasteful for these influencers to constantly be using so many products? theres no fucking way they can use all of them. like doing product reviews i get but then what, theyre just gonna collect dust on a shelf somewhere. idk.

on that note a lot of skincare in general feels like repackaged beauty nonsense - anti aging shit, "get rid of wrinkles" etc - it just creates anxiety where there shouldnt be any. like... cleaning your face is good! moisturizing is good! sunscreen is good! but anything else is prooooobably unnecessary

'advancements' in the scincare science telling them that e eryone just needs to#start earlier to 'prevent aging' rather than 'reversing aging' BUT also that shit is rife w pseudoscience anyway so like#prolly more like advancements in marketing starting younger and contacting younger 'influencers' etc so u can sell product to that person#for a larger proportion of their lifetime. prolly a mix of both with it being Heavy on the Marketing.

So I’ve been teaching 6th grade since January, and one thing about my female students which made me upset to realize is how many of them are obsessed with skincare. I've heard the girls in my class discussing the EYE CREAM they use. Like tf you mean eye cream? You're ELEVEN!!! I'm a decade older than you and have never even touched eye cream!! The most skincare a middle schooler needs is cleanser and moisturizer, maybe some acne cream. Who tf is selling you all this other stuff? Who tf told you you needed all this?

It hurts me to see. Their brains are too young for these types of insecurities 😭 no 11 year old girl should be obsessed with wrinkles, I wanna beat tf out of whatever tiktoker made them believe they needed skin that perfect
