#it's peak teenager behavior to dream about being a star

About Dick, he never wanted his private life to be public, he just went through a phase as a teen when he missed the spotlight of the circus, because teenagers often have this dream of stardom. In World's Finest: Teen Titans, he says he misses it to Bruce, after his guardian forbid him to join his teammates at a convention about them, this is inspired by this. It's a normal dream for a teen, and Dick knew he could make it a reality if Bruce let him. But, like I said, it was a phase and he is very happy Bruce didn't bend to his puppy eyes.
Nobody know the kids of famous people, the Kardashians are well-known because they have a show (and people who don't give a fuck about it cannot name them), and some kids are known if their parents put them in the spotlight (North West, for example, but like, you could show me a picture of her and I would not recognize her).
I don't think the Wayne kids are famous. Bruce is, he is this attractive rich philanthropic guy who loves the cursed hell that is Gotham, it's his cover for Batman. But his kids? This man is overprotective, he would not let the press anywhere near his kids. If people knows barely anything about them, it's less likely they can be hurt in civics. And the more kids he gets, the less people remember them all.
A paparazzi took a picture of Dick/Jason/Damian at school? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. A rumor was published about them? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. A video of one of them filmed without consent finished online? Wayne's lawyers at their front door. Don't even dream about making some article pointing out his kids are attractive (for other teens or for adults for the adult ones), he will find you. Don't even try to say any racists or bigoted about his kids, he will ruin your life.
Some of them are very satisfied with this (Jason, all ages, and Cass, for examples). Some did dreamed of the spotlight sometimes (Dick. He is a performer, he was soooo annoying as a teen because he wanted to be famous!). But Bruce stood his ground.
In the end, Dick is a bit famous because of his position as "the heir", as he is the one stepping in Bruce's place to do damage control when Bruce dissapears. Tim is known because of his takeover bs he did when Bruce was gone in time (reminder that he is not the CEO). Bruce still doesn't let anything too personal or unprofessional about them exist.
#dick grayson#bruce wayne#batfam#batman#In world finest Dick knows Bruce is right and he agrees but he also whines about it to Bruce#like he is smart enough to realize it's a bad idea but he also admits he wants to do it#it's peak teenager behavior to dream about being a star#and all the teen titans dream of being famous in World's Finest#my ramblings

Engel | Jealous Ville Valo x reader imagine
Summary: You join your boyfriends band to celebrate the end of their tour. One of your costars and friends is there too, much to Villes dismay.
Note: fluff, very slight angst
had to repost my fics bc my old acc got flagged, sorry! x
Word count: 1486
“This is our last song for tonight”, he declared in his baritone as the first chords of When Love And Death Embrace begun playing. Your eyes followed his every movement from the side of the stage. “I’m in love with you..“ he sang and shot you a wink. The two of you have been together for almost four years now, yet Ville never ceases to amaze you. One stare of his viridescent eyes was enough to make your heart swell and your legs grow weak. When he was on stage he was alive, and you barely loved anything more than seeing him like this. The only thing better than this was the thought of finally having him all to yourself again, and him pressing his sweaty body against yours after the show. You gripped the metal bars tighter as you heard him purr the last lines of the song. A roar of applause and cheers lit up the stadium as the last show of the tour came to an end.
A radiant smile shone on his face, which you couldn’t help but return as he jogged towards you. „Y/N!“, he exclaimed as he scooped you up in his arms, spinning you and setting you down again. Both of you laughed. „Anteeksi, I’m kind of sweaty right now.“, he then said. In response, you wrapped your arms tighter around him, kissing his mouth, then his neck. „Who say’s I mind?!“ You smirked at the look he gave you, his pupils dilating ever so slightly. „I can’t wait to take you home, kultaseni…“, he whispered and stepped away slowly, leaving you there with a smile playing on your lips.
And as much as you would’ve liked following him into the shower right there and then, you sadly had other plans. Ville and you had promised to accompany the other bandmates to a local bar in celebration of yet another successful tour. So here you were, in your VIP booth of a bar called „Engel“. The place was beautiful, the perfect mixture of classy and sultry rock‘n‘roll. The bordeaux leather couch was soft beneath you as Metallica blasted through the speakers.
Ville sat next to you, slinging a lazy arm around your shoulder, shooting you a dazzling smile. „You look beautiful, Y/N.“, murmured Ville, leaving a lingering kiss on your cheek. Oh, how you cherished moments like this. Being so close to him, feeling him stroke your arm gently and exchanging sweet nothings. You could completely forget the rest of the world around you, if it wasn’t for Burtons constant teasing.
„Get a room, you two.“, Burton called, much louder than necessary. „Oh, fuck off.“, scoffed Ville, clearly amused as you rolled your eyes, blushing nonetheless. „I seriously can’t believe you two still act like horny teenagers after being in a relationship for this long.“ You grinned at him. „Ohhh, ‘s somebody jealous? Should I go and have some girl talk with your wife about it?“ Burton flipped you off then, roling his eyes. „I think it‘s cute, I‘m happy for you guys.“, Mige chimed in, „but he does have a point, you know?“ Laughing, you got up and excused yourself. „Whatever. I‘m going to head to the bar and see what they‘ve got. Anyone want something?“ “Surprise me, love.“, Ville said as everyone else shook their head.
Smoothing out your figure-hugging black dress, you made your way past the dance floor to the bar. Running a hand through your long wavy hair you skimmed the menu, when suddenly you hear an all too familiar voice call out. “Hello stranger!“. His blue eyes twinkle in delight as he stands next to you. „Now if that isn‘t my favourite Co-Star.“ „Misha! It‘s nice to see you, too.“, you hugged him, „What are you doing here? Aren‘t you guys busy shooting?“ And just like that, the conversation flowed. You had met Misha Collins on the set of Supernatural, and you clicked immediately, becoming very close friends - much to Villes dismay. After your character in the show was killed off, you and Misha stayed in contact but saw each other less and less due to your busy schedules. Both of you were actors on the peak of their career, which is exactly what made coincidences like this so pleasant.
You almost laughed tears at one of Misha jokes as you remembered your initial task. Looking back at where your boyfriend was sitting, you noticed how he’s been staring back, a blank expression on his face. Misha noticed the direction of your stare. “Oh, I’m sorry.”, he said, lightly touching your arm, “Have I been keeping you up? You probably wanted to get something to drink, right? Whatever it is, it’s on me.” Smiling, you thanked him and ordered two non-alcoholic cocktails. At that, Misha quirked one of his eyebrows up, a surprised expression on his features. You explained that Ville has stopped drinking and that you supported him completely. “He is a lucky guy.”, Misha winked while walking away, “I’ll see you around.”. You smiled and said your goodbyes.
You turned around to walk back to your booth, but unexpectedly were greeted with the pair of emerald eyes you loved so much. Only that those eyes didn’t hold as much adoration as you would’ve liked. He grabbed a drink from your hands and wordlessly sat down on a barstool. „You alright, love?“, you asked, sitting next to him. He said nothing, avoiding your stare. „Ville?“
Suddenly he turned to you, his cold expression catching you off guard. „I don’t know, love.“, he spat, mocking the pet name you had used, „Would you feel peachy if I told you I’d get drinks, and then ended up all cozy with some other woman?“.
Oh.
He was talking about Misha. Disbelief etched itself into your face, your eyebrows raised. „Ville, are you jealous?“ He grunted in response, which was all the answer you needed. „As much as Misha and I might get along, you know we’re just friends, right?“ Ville scoffed, a strand of his hair dangling in the air. „If you’re just friends, then what’s up with all the light touches, and you laughing at his jokes so damn much? And i swear to Ozzy, if I see him wink at you one more time…”
You fought the urge to roll your eyes at his behavior. He was the man of your dreams and you were more than happy to be with him, how he could still doubt that after years of being together - you had no clue.
„Ville, rakkain..“, you started calmly, running your hand down his arm gently. „Misha may be nice and funny“, that earned you a glare, „but he’s got absolutely nothing on you. I love you, and I have been for the past 4 years. And you should know that by now.”, you told him, taking his hand into yours. “You are the most talented, handsome and caring man I’ve ever met. Nothing makes me as happy as spending time with you does. I love how passionate you are, I love how safe you make me feel. You make me smile even when I don’t want to, and I wouldn’t ever want to have another day go by without you by my side.“
His thumb brushed your knuckles then, the look in his eyes softening as he looked into your eyes, searching for any traces of a lie. He found none. An idea popped into your head then. An equally evil and seductive grin formed on your face. You leaned close to him and put a hand on his thigh for support. „Besides…“, you brushed your lip against his his, „You are so very sexy. Absolutely sinful, really. Nobody can turn me on like you do. And oh my, have I been missing you lately. Laying between the silky sheets all alone…”, The grip on your other hand tightened ever so slightly. “How often I imagined you coming back through that door, your skin on mine, your kisses traveling down my body, being all yours.”, you moved your head back a little, giving him an innocent look. A low growl escaped him as as his hand moved to cup your cheek, claiming your lips. The kiss was far from gentle, it was territorial, pleading. It held all the passion that had built up from months of being apart. It left you breathless, wanting.
Way too soon he broke the kiss, panting heavily. His eyes had turned a darker shade of green, a storm brewing inside of them. He got up then, threw some money on the counter to pay for your nowhere near finished drinks and took your hand, helping you up. His eyes traveled over your body, taking in the sight before him. Licking his lips subconsciously, he lifted his head and looked you in the eyes, “Home. Now.”
And you were more than happy to comply.

That Funny Story
There's this school of mine. Currently existing in my blurred memories. I used to study there. Actually it wasn't study though;) It was one hell of a ride boy. Every day. Every class. Every minute. Me, just out there enjoying every fucking second of my existence. You don't even think about the moments until all of these comes to an end and you stand there stranded. Perhaps even crying.
'Sarvodaya'. Your uday is almost certain in a school with such a name. It was a co-ed school. But only for the sake of it. Otherwise all of us boys have had this hidden prejudice towards the other gender. Like if you talk with any girl then it was considered something like a sin. You can even call it male ego if you want. But hey! we were all just bunch of kids then. So, the situation was so bad that we guys wouldn't even ask for our pens if it went over to the side where 'they' used to sit. Our territories were marked with an invisible chalk. Haha..you may laugh or think of it as a truly childish behavior but it was what it was. You'd better understand if you knew the conventional surroundings at that time.
We didn't know the concept of boyfriend/ girlfriend. Not even that a boy and a girl can be friends as well. And I'm talking about the time when I was in 7th and 8th standard. Well, even then I was the 'reading type'. I used to read all our literary books and any other material that I could get my hands on. An exceptionally ordinary teenager dreaming about all the filmy type romance eh!. Not a very novel story. Well, That's me bruh..what can I say..😅 It was during the 9th standard. Pretty much every 'only boys' friend groups of ours had this tendency to make fun of each other by imagining them in relationship with random girl from their class. Words like 'bhabhi' were common at the time. Pretty common even today, right? Some things just stays the same for eternity. There's always this one girl in every standard who's a notch above everybody else. Even we had that diva in our class and by default I and every other friend of mine outright rejected the idea of me and her ever being together. Then there was this second girl who happened to be the best friend of that diva. Them, Those stupid friends of mine had mindset of Gulshan from 'Hunter'. Always go for the second best. I wonder where the writers got the idea from. Chill, I won't sue them for copyright;). So, yeah my friends, They used to tease me with her name everytime they got a chance. Whether it's her name being spoken aloud during attendance by teacher or when she entered the class. Every fucking time. Those fuckers never missed a chance. Than the placebo effect happened. Even I started to think like those bastards and felt like having a special connect with her. Well, when you're of that age you also feel that spark in your eyes and few butterflies flying in your stomach when you see someone. More or less, it was happening .
So, for the first time in the history of our school, out of blue we decided to do something about this dillema. To move ahead. It was consensually decided to propose her on valentine's day as it was just a month n half away. We planned to give her a love letter. Being a young school boy reading about all this love stories, this was the only possible and sensible solution for me and the gang as I was way too shy to go and talk with her in person. We started writing. It took us a month or so to finally finish that letter after 6th draft. That too in english, a very proud thing to do for me. Then we decorated it with designs. Those designs were from a personal collection of one of my best friends. Thus we made this beautiful four page letter - three pages of "artistic" designs and one of content!. Maybe this was the moment I knew that even writing content for living would work for me.
The big day arrived. We used to go in the same tution classes but were in different batches. We were in respective batches. So, between this two classes, we used to have had a buffer time of five minutes. This was the perfect opportunity to act upon and deliver that letter. So, that day her class got over and she was going back on her pink ladybird (with a basket in front) with four of her friends. I followed her on my friend's bike and just drop that letter of mine in her basket out of blue. She was startled and with confusion in her eyes she asked "what's this?". testosterone was flowing through me like crazy and on the peak of my hormones, I replied, "everything is mentioned in the letter itself. Read it." Mike drop and then left.
Now that period started. The period of waiting. When nights are longer than days and vise versa. So, during that time, our gang was kinda wanted gang in the school so, the principal himself instructed us to not be present even in the school compound during the recess. I used to sent a spy of mine to observe the happenings of classroom because all the girls used to stay in the classroom only. That spy came with a report that the group of around 8-10 girls were sitting in a circle and among them, the scholar of our class is deciphering your letter. I was like bouy, this is not a very bright sign. I sighed and waited. Waited for a few more days and exactly after a week, when we all were playing in ground, our peon came and exactly at that moment I knew that chacha were coming for me only. I was totally like 'chalo bulava aaya hai' and went with him like a badass. We passed by the principal's cabin and and questions started bubbling up in my mind about what our actual destination would be. He showed me the gate of trustee's office. I went in and stood there. Completely frozen. The trustee of our school was sitting there in his usual chair. In front of him was my dad, sitting in one chair and next to him was the girl's grandpa. With a xerox copy of my letter (..why xerox copy man? Should've brought the original one for the sake of creativity.) and then the verbal despoilment started. On top of that, her grandpa used to work in the police commissioner office. That oldie literally ripped me apart that day. It lasted for whole 45 minutes and then I went back to class. Even after school, I was not ready to go home. I was literally shivering. That path, that daily route of mine felt very different and scary that day. Haven felt even scarier. Finally, I reached home. Ate my lunch. Then had few slaps from you know who.
This whole story spread like a wildfire through out school. Our very first attempt at this tender thing called relationship and love had gone horribly and miserably wrong. After that incident, The boards came. The 10th. During that whole year, I wrote six love letters for my friends. (maybe this is how the journey started.) and guess what? All of them were accepted and those guys experienced the sweet taste of love. Well well well, I concluded that in my case, maybe the fault was not in our stars but the planning and execution. My content was great, though. Chuckles!
Well, don't we all have that one little corner in our hearts where we store such stories. Where we bury all the fun moments of our school life, The stories of our Herculean adventures, all the laughters and cries, so that we can dig them up and revisit those beautiful and precious memories whenever we feel down. Maybe this is precisely why I just love the movie '96' so much.
As they say, the story of love, it never gets old.

silence ! raise the royal standard, for the king of hungary, DOMINYKAS VANCURA, has arrived. being thirty-one years old, he is currently on the throne. many around the court call him the insurgent by virtue of him being perspicacious and captivating, while also being ruthless and aggressive. —played by max irons

— CANON VERSE
first off, let me start off by saying that dom can be the wOOOoooooOoooRST. what’s his damage, heather ? well, it’s not his family. his family was super loving and supportive and he grew up loving all of his siblings and such. never rly had the responsibilities of being king so he fucked around a lot as a teenager, partaking in hedonistic behavior bc why not ?
fell like fucking head over heels madly in love at the age of seventeen to a lithuanian duke’s daughter and shit, nothing else mattered. she was his polar opposite like a goddamn ray of sunshine but she made him want to clean up his act in a way that he never though possible. he !!! fucking !!! loved !!! her !!!
yep, loved. bc he can’t be happy, duh. they got married at the age of eighteen, things were fucking great. she tempered him down and reminded him that there was good that no one else saw. about two years into their marriage, the two discovered that tiesa was pregnant. but the war was brewing and he felt like he needed to fight and that all sorta stressed his wife out a lot. she has a miscarriage due to it.
that was the first knife to the heart. dom grew resentful and numb to his emotions. he detached from his family and was a far harsher and colder man. lacking a purpose, he went off to fight in the war. witnessing those horrors really fucked him up and added another knife to the heart.
he had a partner in crime in the war, a total ride or die. this was probably the only guy that could coax a smile out of dom lately. so obviously that meant he couldn’t live. he was killed saving dom. that traumatized the hell out of him.
coming back from the war, dom was no longer the boy he’d once been. he’d become a man, and that man was more akin to something horrible. he delved headfirst in hedonism to drown the pain and clutched to anything that could make him feel – if there was anything at all.
then, his father who he LOVED was murdered by prussia. ( clearly, i’m saying fuck dom rights )
the final straw for him ? losing tiesa. after the glorious news of hearing that she was pregnant again, the two thought this would be the new fresh chapter in their book together. she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that they named laima. but as quickly as happiness returned to dom, it was taken away -- tiesa lost too much blood during the birth and didn’t even survive to see her beautiful creation. in absolute anguish, dom plucked all the knives of trauma that had once pierced his heart and declared that he no longer had one -- save for his affection for his sister and child.
coveted the throne from his older brother, but really it’s just something to fixate on so he didn’t delve too much into his own fucked up head. he was angry that his brother refused to attack prussia for their sins against their father. considered his brother a weak leader and fully convinced himself that he would be better. (spoiler alert: he wouldn’t.)
he got the chance to make that selfish, horrendous dream into a reality when the vancura family traveled to bern for the peace talks. one night, pirates stormed the castle taking lives and innocence left to right. dom seized his opportunity and stabbed his brother in the midst of the attacks. as he died, dom promised to exact revenge on prussia for their father. when guards came around, he pretended that it was the pirates that had done the deed. oh no ! long live king dominykas, i guess.
dom is hurting and in return, he wishes for everyone else to hurt. and if that meant lighting himself on fire and burning all the bridges on the way, so fucking be it. he’s vindictive and charming like a fucking snake, and he’s just as venomous.
anyways that’s my trash son. if you’re hot, he’ll flirt. if you piss him off, he becomes a scary mass of rage. terrible temper smh.
prussia, he’s coming for you hoes.
— MODERN VERSE
born the second oldest of the vancura children, dominykas didn’t have as heavy of a responsibility on his shoulders as his older brother did. honestly, he liked it that way. he had no desire in being controlled or even having a hand in his family’s business – banking. his great grandfather created the company and soon, the ambition turned it into an empire.
while his parents had met as children in hungary, they migrated to london once they eloped for a better chance in life. dom has only been back a handful of times in his life to visit family. he hasn’t been gone by his own will since the age of sixteen and doesn’t plan on doing so.
instead of worrying about the family name, dom enjoyed being the pretty hedonistic rich boy that got everything he wanted and did everything he pleased. was the peak definition of a fuckboi growing up and was very proud of it.
didn’t really want to further his education. while he was naturally intelligent, he never had the desire to just learn for learning’s sake. but not attending university was a non-starter when it came to his strict father. he was handed pamphlets of high-end schools and was forced to make a choice. he decided on oxford university, since he had zero desire to leave england.
that ended up being the right choice because: a.) he met his best friend florian & b.) he met tiesa. she was by far the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen in his life and the moment dom tried to use his usual disingenuous charm on her, she shut him the fuck down. holy shit, he needed it. and the reason that she called him out on his bullshit was exactly the reason he fell in love with her. after much back and forth throughout their studies, she agreed to go out with him and they started dating very soon after.
near the end of his university experience, dom was approached by a “hedge fund firm” for an internship. upon the interview process, he learned that it was in fact a cover for the secret intelligence service. they wanted to hire him as an operational officer. dom, a known thrill seeker, thought it would be fun.
keeping his lives separate proved to be difficult, especially with how things were going with tiesa. they fought a lot about him being secretive and it placed a strain on their relationship. things grew doubly complicated when tiesa announced that she was pregnant. dom asked her to marry him instantly, not wanting this to be a decision that severed their ties. they had an elopement, much to his family’s dismay, and a few months later – laima was born.
if he thought he understand love before, fuck it only grew tenfold. all he knew was that he loved his wife and his daughter and he would do all he could to protect them. ironic, considering the nature of his job.
upon graduation, the secret intelligence service offered him a lucrative new position – in the field as an operative. it sort of felt like something out a movie but this was a cold reality that would change dominykas’ life for the worst.
collecting information, by means or torture or even worse methods, wore on the man. but he couldn’t just back out of his agreement. he was in for life and that was a decision he would have to learn to accept. except, dom was a stubborn man. so, he tried to get away. packed up tiesa and laima and booked a trip to the states. he was willing to trade secrets to the cia for protection.
the day they were supposed to leave, he found tiesa shot through the head in their kitchen. laima was wailing in her nursery. the official news was that it was a botched bulgary. but dominykas knew, he fucking knew. it was them. and he had no choice but to continue to work for them. for laima’s safety.
his mind spiraled into darkness and paranoia after his wife’s death. he didn’t know who he could or couldn’t trust. could it have been one of his siblings who betrayed him ? a friend from his dining club ? truth be told, the only person that he trusted throughout this all was florian but even his best friend could not salvage the shell of the person he’d become after losing tiesa.
now, dom bitterly continues to work for the service, no longer batting an eye at the the violence and schemes of it all.
drinks a lot more than he used to. too much, actually.
no longer attempted to be there for laima as he should be. truthfully, he sees too much of tiesa in her and the reminder threatens to take him off the deep end.

Tbh Bts brought me here Army for life!!!i hv been foollowing for a couple yrs now and i did see a definite change for yr love of top. nw yr like a salty ex with hella mood swings.. haha😅
eh. I actually have a lot to say about this:
if I'm being honest with you? I generally am 95% over him. I don't hate him? but I don't have an over the moon love for him, on top of that I grew up. I really genuinely grew up as I was a stan and hardcore fan since I was teenager and now I'm nearly 30. A lot of you take my views on him very face value and seriously. I want him to succeed cause he did make an impact on my life in ways not traditional to how he's made an impact on you guys cause I could always objectively tell and see that he is a personality that never meshes with someone like me in real life or someone I'd be fit to date or take seriously if I ever met him or knew him in that dream world everyone has of celebrity what ifs games.
TBH I don't post my up & down opinions of him and not expect feedback cause that would be....weird or just stuck up not to expect that? but at the end of the day, it achieves nothing to me to point the behavior out. Am I going to physically cry over this? jump off a bridge and commit suicide? punch the air? delete the blog? idk. Maybe it's because I still vividly remember how things were during BB's rise and peak when communication across the board especially in fandom worship wasn't like this. I'm young but kinda old school? it just like okay, am I suppose to magically change my behavior?
the irony in what you and others are saying is, the extreme, very extremely unsettling IRONY is that a lot the fandom (this applies to all of us right now and in general) does not want to accept or realize if you think about it....not even trying to sound maniplative or strange when I say it...
think about it.
a lot of you don't like my undecided eeratic behavior on top
but does my behavior on top NOT reflect top's own personality and behavior in terms of how he presents himself? how he acts? how he posts? how he communicates and conveys himself on social media as opposed to interviews? he seems fairly if not above average in clarity minus the manner in which he presents his views & feelings in interviews, but when you look at him from an extremely objective outsiders lense on his social & internet behavior, his behavior is no different than mine truly. I'm saying this as if I was not me and observing me acting like, well me, lmfao. Do you get it honey? Point blank, TOP does not make sense in general. I'm keeping personal feelings out of this, there is no one wrong or right definite consensus about TOP. I do not care what anyone says just like we don't have a solid consesus about beyonce or kanye or britney etc cause now more than ever music is dead and personal feelings about a star will override the facts. many people see zayn as a washed up bum with issues and he is defined as just that despite the fact gigi hadid wouldn't be where she is minus the nepotisim factor if he didn't put her on and in a kanye like self destruction, he elevated her past his own relevancy and merit, but zayn has talent where gigi just has work ethic and above average looks for the runway that work. you get it? with zayn he's a bum now by default but we cannot scrub the fact mind of mine was a solid album and he had literal potential to be where harry styles is if he didn't give up.
In hindsight, it's like that with TOP. Plus, everytime I TRY to move on from him, an anon brings me back in. So what. Anyways, tbh? I don't pay attention to him anymore, I found about the comeback through my phone notifcation recommendtions as well as an account I follow posting about it. I probably know of more beyonce stuff than TOP and I am not really a fan or major follower of bey.
So that's my take on this whole thing.
You are not trapped here. Unfollow. If everybody words had weight, don't you think I would have deleted the blog by now? Let's get real. An admin is a reflection of the topic but....top...clearly as we know has been overcoming his mental health issues. We are stanning someone who isn't mentally well but is overcoming it in his own ways, even if it's confusing or "4D". Ask yourself if a random person who was not attractive or had any mysitque was just like TOP in real life and approached you? would you entertain that person? if yes, then keep at it. if no? then...yeah, you know the rest.
p.s didn't top say don't fucking follow me in his bio on his private account? he appreciates the fans photos and uses them sometimes, but does he NOT always notice a negative comment before the numerous positives cause he's numb to it? and did he NOT say he was done with korea and idol life? Just interesting to me, this is giving will smith slap teas where this whole thing even if it's organic in reaction, is a cover up for something more. A chunk of you will ride for top even if he were to post literal human shit on instagram, but don't dare send in recent asks discussing the fact literal REPORTS have circulated that he will be leaving YG and BB for good soon despite the comeback. So in retrospect, it's giving kanye right now. Instead a flood of asks focusing on discussing where his next path will take him and how we all feel about the elephant in the room being confirmed, it's now a direct discussion about my love hate relationship with TOP to cover up the fact he's LITERALLY LEAVING the damn group and the group is over with, period. Ri is out, TOP is leaving so late when he should have been left just strictly upon what;s right for himself & everyone involved, now we are truly down to 3 after this OT4 comeback.
I personally doubt they will carry on as 3 cause dae, tae and ri voices to me aren't exactly enough or a perfect blend to carry out a whole album or EP on it's own unless they blackpink they're way through i.e by just dropping singles. TOP is Korea's kanye whether you all want to accept it or not, only difference is one hit the camel's back at the expense of a rising sweetheart of the nation and the other hit the camel's back of the public's endurance with him by blowing the back out of a social climber groupie. I won't speak on will & jada incident cause it's too broad with racial elements at play, but it;s certain that Will's undying choice to stick with her despite the humilation it has caused even if he played a part in it has hurt his image. TOP willingly allowing a groupie too close ruined his image long term although his talent much like Kanye's will be there even if it's not the same. So trust, there are many out there like me who move on but have opinions on him cause he is not an average artist nor is he an average personality.
you can love him but don't tell me he exemplies the most perfect person when he isn't and you can love him for not being perfect as we all should for anyone we admire artistically, but don't shield him. Also p.s to other anons of past talks who used to get annoyed about the mark comments? if top was an american star he'd be high up in shawn mendes gay territory right now by the general public who isn't a fan or knows about him closely beyond his fame and general work that circulates on top40 radio. American tea outlets and blinds would be alledging they are lovers / sugar baby & sugar daddy, so let that sink in.
I've met many people over the years who's views and behavior align with the celebrity they hardcore stan or reflect the celebrity they stan. TOP is someone who dosent traditionally make sense, and neither does this blog. I bid you goodday with that.
Lastly, I am a Cancer zodiac so yeah, "moody" is in my name LOL.

Editor’s note: This essay contains allegations of sexual assault and physical abuse.
On Wednesday, singer, songwriter and producer R. Testimony is set to begin at a Brooklyn courthouse in the first of two federal trials against Kelly. In two such indictments in New York and Illinois, the one-time R&B king is accused of abusing 11 girls and women over more than two decades; making child pornography; Quietly paying money to silence the alleged victims; and specifically building a criminal enterprise to “hunt young women and adolescents”.
Additionally, New York prosecutors want to acknowledge what they say is evidence that Kelly sexually and physically abused girls and women, sexually abused a boy, and bribed until 1991. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and has consistently denied allegations that he abused anyone.
Often, when I’ve told people I’m covering a New York lawsuit, they’re confused. There have been allegations surrounding Kelly for more than 25 years, and so they ask me: Wasn’t he arrested years ago? Yes: He was recently arrested in July 2019, and has been in custody for two years, awaiting trial. But they may also be thinking about her first major trial in 2008 — and those allegations, and that trial, add to some of the current charges.
In 2002, in his hometown of Chicago, Kelly was indicted on multiple child pornography charges after an infamous sex tape aired: it featured the singer having sex and urinating with a woman, about whom In the U.S., prosecutors said he was about 14 years old at the time. A full six years later, Kelly went on trial and was acquitted of all charges. The girl who was believed to be the girl on tape and her parents refused to testify.
That 2008 trial is heavily involved in some of Illinois’ current charges, including allegations that Kelly and members of her circle bullied the girl and her father, and persuaded them to lie to both the police and a grand jury. . 14 other witnesses who refused to testify, despite identifying the girl, seem to have influenced several jurors to acquit Kelly. (The same woman, now in her thirties, said in 2019 that she is cooperating with federal investigators.)
Back then, it seemed that much of the pop-culture conversation was primarily about Kelly and her perceived tendencies and behaviors, and not so much about anyone who might have been hurt. In some ways, the culture has changed since Kelly was last tested. Many fans today are far less inclined to ignore what they see as problematic material or context in an artist’s work – whether it relates to racism, sexism, unfair power dynamics or homosexuality.
The intervening 13 years have also seen dogmatic, harsh reporting about Kelly, including Soulless: The Case Against R. Kelly, a book by east Chicago Sun-Times journalist and music critic Jim DeRogatis, and alive r kelly, A six-part documentary starring Dream Hampton to air on Lifetime. Both were released in the middle of the #MeToo movement in 2019.
In the early days of #MeToo, many of the leading accusers were white women. But Kelly-related projects apparently focused mostly on black girls and women who were allegedly harmed.
As those projects were being developed, a #MuteRKelly movement — founded by two black women, Kennett Barnes and Oronike Odelle — gathered steam in an effort to pressure major entertainment companies to sever their ties with Kelly. . By writing about #MuteRKelly, Washington Post Columnist Christine Emba quoted Malcolm X’s 1962 speech: “The most humiliated person in America is the black woman. The most vulnerable person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.”
In March 2018 Barnes insisted in an interview to Derogatis for BuzzFeed News: “We don’t care about black girls. If R. Kelly were white, every civil rights leader would march on every street in this country.” If the girls were white, every feminist group would rage in a pile of cat hats for marching against them. The bottom line is that R. Kelly and her victims are the perfect storm for those we don’t care about We protect black men who are problematic in the black community, and we spare black girls in all communities. Essentially, he’s the ultimate example of a stalker going after the most vulnerable that anyone cares about. Not there.”
A few months later, however, Kelly’s management called #MuteRKelly “a public lynching”, noting that “since America was born, black men and women have been lynched for having sex or being charged with it.” Has been done.” At the time, #MeToo founder and activist Tarana Burke told me, “The reality of lynching in America is so, so painful, and so real. It’s not public lynching. It’s a call for public accountability.” (Also, in several cases Kelly’s accusers have said that they were underage girls, not women, when they began sexual contact with her.)
Burke continued in a 2018 conversation, “We’ve brought charges against R. Kelly for 24 years, and he’s gone unpunished.” “We’re looking for in our community and outside, there is some accountability of corporations that support this man, who has a 24-year history of sexual violence against black and brown girls across the country.” (Later that year, Burke was one of the victims of a gun threat called to an advance screening. alive r kelly in New York; Kelly’s former manager, Donnell Russell, has been charged with making this threat. His case is ongoing.)
To a large extent, #MuteRKelly succeeded, albeit years after Kelly’s commercial and creative peak, and sometimes in highly deserved ways. In May 2018, for example, Spotify removed Kelly from its playlists, the way many listeners use the service instead to look for particular artists or songs. If you actively search for Kelly’s music on Spotify, however, it still exists, as written by other artists such as Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Ciara, Missy Elliot and others. and/or created songs. Audience considers problematic: Michael Jackson.
There has been one notable exception: Most of the music by Kelly’s protagonist Aaliyah — whom he married in 1994, when she was 15 and he was 27 — isn’t on Spotify or other streaming services at all. But at an interesting time, Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager of both artists, Barry Hankerson, announced a few days before the Kelly trial began that he was making his recording catalog available for streaming services. New York prosecutors refer to Aaliyah as “Jane Doe #1” in their indictment, for which they say Kelly and associates bribed a public official to produce a fake ID prior to their wedding.
In January 2019, Kelly’s longtime record label RCA and her parent company, Sony Music Entertainment, removed her from their artist roster after increasing pressure from #MuteRKelly. But that decision, apparently, was made in view of alive r kelly The broadcast came 16 years after their last big chart hit, 2003’s “Ignition (Remix)”. Furthermore, RCA and Sony have never publicly admitted to leaving Kelly.
Long before the most recent wave of accusations and reporting, black and brown voices were calling for reckoning. almost two decades ago alive r kelly, for a long time Chicago Sun-Times Columnist Mary Mitchell wrote several articles asking why alleged victims were being dismissed or ignored, and why so many Chicagoans were on Kelly’s side.
Nevertheless, many fans liked him very much. Some fellow cast members denied the allegations and continued to work with them. And comedians like Dave Chappelle joked about the alleged Kelly tape and its contents.
after the first broadcast of alive r kelly, Then-new York Times Culture editor (and now NPR affiliate) Aisha Harris wrote about how the allegations against Kelly became pop-culture joke fodder: “Over the years,” she wrote, “people who laughed at Kelly were able to ignore the allegations against her.” were able.”
In retrospect, that particular spin cycle is reminiscent of what happened to Britney Spears in the same era. (She was one of R. Kelly’s labelmates at Jive and then RCA, and Kelly wrote and produced her own song, “Outrageous”, released in 2004.) Spears’ Public Conflict, which was a joke and a joke for 24/7 Became little more than grist. The multitude of gossip blogs and cable channels coincided with Kelly’s Chicago trial. The girl at the center of that trial, like Spears, became largely a punchline.
Many of the women who have accused Kelly of sexual, physical and/or psychological abuse say that when they met him, they were, like the girl allegedly featured on the infamous tape , was a teenager striving to become a professional musician, and hoped that the king of R&B would help him chart his music career.
In the music industry, it’s a familiar story. Young men strive to make it in the tough, unforgiving music industry; If they do succeed, it is often at least partly with the help of older male mentors. Young women attempting to make it in the tough, unforgiving music industry can also enlist the help of older male mentors; After all, there are still far more successful men in business than women. But sometimes, instead of being given guidance or opportunities, they are developed into sexual conquests – and those dreams fade.

DEGRASSI. I’ve only watched The Next Generation starting at like season six I think? But IT’S SO GOOD. I really only watched up until Eli and Clare and their gang left the show, but I recommend this show SO MUCH.
Salem (2014-2017): Explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials and uncovering the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind this infamous period in American history.

Gilmore Girls (2000-2007): A dramedy centering around the relationship between a thirtysomething single mother and her teen daughter living in Stars Hollow, Connecticut. (This is another show that has a revival, and I’m not sure whether it’s continuing or if it was just a one season sort of thing. According to my knowledge, the revival was a mini series with four episodes, each one about an hour and thirty minutes each.)

5/3/17: FIRE WALK WITH ME vs PHENOMENA - The Comparative Analysis No One Asked For!
TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME (1992) and PHENOMENA (1985) is a pairing that may not immediately leap to mind, but they have two obvious things in common: They are products of two of the world's best loved genre filmmakers, and they were thought to represent the nadir of each director's career at the time of release. Incidentally, they are also both predicated on a sort of Alice through the looking glass structure, and as such, they may have more to offer as a duet than a cursory consideration would suggest.
When FIRE WALK WITH ME made its debut, after David Lynch’s groundbreaking television series was cancelled, the former suffered a lot from the preciousness with which audiences regarded Twin Peaks. A show fan (as opposed to a Lynch fan) might accept cutesy kookiness but not psychoanalytic abstraction; they might welcome a few good scares, but not constant terror and misery; and importantly, they might enjoy the idea of a cheerleader with a dark side, but sicken when the facts of Laura Palmer's life are laid bare unromantically in all their R-rated glory. Topping all that off with the absence of most of the show's beloved characters and/or actor (many of who expressed bitterness over Lynch more or less abandoning the program in its oft-maligned second season), it is unsurprising that the film met with boos, walkouts and scathing reviews upon release.
After a fashion, FIRE WALK WITH ME enjoyed a favorable reappraisal by its public, but no such forgiveness would come for Dario Argento's PHENOMENA. (At least, not for a while) This grisly fairy tale in which Jennifer Connelly uses her psychic connection with insects, and the aid of Donald Pleasance's wayward helper monkey, to solve a series of murders, was considered by many to be the beginning of the end of Argento's envelope-pushing career. Up to that point, fans delighted in the logistical acrobatics of manic detective stories like PROFONDO ROSSO and TENEBRE, and happily accepted the rather loose story structure of a fever dream like SUSPIRIA in light of its astonishing aesthetic powers. However, even these adventurous viewers had a hard time with PHENOMENA's delirious dialog, its hysterical musical blend opera with speed metal and surf rock, and its entirely preposterous premise. I have yet to come across a piece of critical writing that values this film as more than a collection of extreme examples of Argento's defining characteristics as an artist. With that said, I have preemptively congratulated myself for attempting to say something about it as a story.
Both FWWM and PHENEMONA tell a little-girl-lost tale, in which the girls are specifically lost in a world of intimate violence and betrayal, with supernatural overtones. Their similarities are cosmetic, too: The mountain town of Twin Peaks, where prom queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) lives and dies, is bathed in a searing white light by day as if to parody the pretended purity and simplicity of its people. A similarly blinding daylight bleaches the eerie environs of the Swiss Alps where a movie star has sent his beautiful daughter, Jennifer Corvino (Jennifer Connelly), to a fancy boarding school. By night, an evil darkness seeps out of the pines surrounding both settings, laying cover for libidinous young men and bloodthirsty murderers. Our schoolgirl heroines have to battle the mundane evils of ignorant adults and predatory peers, as well as real monsters disguised as loving fathers.
Although FIRE WALK WITH ME is a prequel to Twin Peaks, Laura Palmer is already in deep trouble at the beginning of the movie. Because she is the most popular girl in the world, seeming to have it all, no one in a position to help thinks to wonder about her erratic behavior, nocturnal flights from home, and often-transparent misery. With nobody watching out for her, Laura's fate is determined by the men in her life: her boyfriend Bobby, who is more a rabid dog than a person; her secret lover James, who lacks the humility to imagine anything more important than his shallow puppy love; and Jacques, the owner of a bar on the wild Canadian border, who feeds Laura's cocaine addiction and her compulsion to endanger and degrade herself. As per the unfortunate cliche, Laura's relationships are patterned after her relationship with her father, who in this case is essentially the devil.
Jennifer Corvino is also haunted by the specter of her father, who has a huge impact on her life, even though he never materializes. When she arrives at the elite Richard Wagner Academy for Girls, she is burdened with the stigma of having a rich, famous, and desirable daddy. Her social life basically has two facets, which her new roommate Sophie demonstrates succinctly: Jennifer is either subject to other people's sexual obsession with her father, or subject to their sadism and jealousy of her supposedly desirable station in life. When Jennifer reveals that she knows movie star Paul Corvino, Sophie mindlessly assails her with a lustful rant about his body, and an invasive question about whether she has fucked him yet, before Jennifer patiently explains that he is her father. It's hard to completely blame Sophie for her behavior, since Jennifer has brought armloads of pinups of her dad to decorate their dorm--a strange way for a person to relate to a parent. The oedipal vibe of this scene is underlined by a weird comic touch in which Jennifer, hungry from her long journey, eats a jar of baby food left behind by Sophie's family. Throughout the film, the infantilized Jennifer pines for the father who has abandoned her for a foreign film shoot, longing for his protection from even less caring adults.
Where Jennifer's character is colored by this subtle form of romance with her father, Laura's life is ruined by the very real affair that her father (Ray Wise) carries on with her during the twilight fugue states shared by both of them. Her repressed awareness of this ongoing trauma bubbles up to her consciousness in the form of hallucinatory visions of a demonic older man called Bob (Frank Silva) who has been raping her since childhood. Laura sees Bob lurking in her bedroom, blames him for pages torn out of her secret diary, and believes he that he intends to fully possess her and thereby incarnate himself as her. Laura has only one real friend in the world, who she can't possible tell about Bob: innocent Donna Hayward (played here by Moira Kelly rather than Lara Flynn Boyle, to pretty much universal dismay). Donna loves Laura with the kind of unconditional love that easily blooms when a person doesn't really know anything about the object of their affection. Donna's naivete is so total that Laura must shield her not only from the story of Bob, but from her crippling drug addiction and forays into prostitution. Inevitably, Donna martyrs herself on the cross of their friendship, attempting to prove her devotion by borrowing some of Laura's sluttier clothes, getting wasted and almost screwing a young tough in the middle of Jacque's bar. The harrowing sequence concludes with Laura, who has been perfectly evil to Donna all night in an attempt to scare her off, giving vent to a shattering scream at the sight of her friend being molested. Still, she is unable to experience or express actual love, screeching at her best friend, "DON'T YOU EVER WEAR MY STUFF!"
Donna's love for Laura is only as deep as her maturity allows, and FIRE WALK WITH ME and Twin Peaks frequently touch on the way in which teenage relationships are exactly as passionate as they are shallow. PHENOMENA takes this a step further, describing the corrosive, sadistic social environment that stereotypically sprouts up between girls. After Jennifer tells the heartbreaking story of her philandering mother walking out on the family on Christmas (which, apropos nothing, bears a curious similarity to Phoebe Cates' dead santa story from GREMLINS), Sophie says, as if she hadn't heard a word, that she's glad Jennifer has arrived because she gets so lonely at night. Throughout their entire conversation, in fact, Jennifer's dialog and Sophie's dialog never seem to quite match up, as if they were in two separate movies. This makes for an acute description of the way in which young women readily perform the drama of being best friends forever, while not really acknowledging each other as individuals, or even liking each other very much. Shortly hereafter, Sophie absconds with Jennifer's black and gold Armani pullover (all of the apparel in this film is provided by Armani, which contributes excellently to the film's slick, icy look) to rendezvous with her boyfriend along the shadowy treeline. She brags about knowing the daughter of a celebrity and stealing her clothes, but when she realizes that her boyfriend is now interested in Jennifer, she changes her tune. "She wears her hair like mine," Sophie boasts, as if she were the influencer, and then cattily divulges that Jennifer sleepwalks, and must be crazy. PHENOMENA being essentially a slasher movie, Sophie isn't long for this world, but Jennifer responds to her gruesome murder with a spirit of vengeance for her supposed friend. Jennifer’s sweetness is offset by her stuck-up peers, and PHENOMENA boasts the mother of all mean girl sequences, a psychotic update of CARRIE's "plug it up" scene in which Jennifer's classmates attack her for believing she can speak to bugs. A fabulous swirling tracking shot gathers a growing gang of girls around Jennifer, as they taunt her with insect noises which transform into a chant: “WE WORSHIP YOU! WE WORSHIP YOU!” Naturally, Jennifer's insect friends descend on the school, threatening to crash through the windows as she declares messianically, "I love you. I love you all." Of course, the grownups at the academy are partially to blame for the atmosphere around Jennifer. This revelation about her powers came to light because, guided by the psychic voice of a firefly, Jennifer discovered one of the missing Sophie's gloves, which contained a helpful maggot. This is another one of the film's great and powerful scenes: Jennifer, cherubic in a white nightgown and dwarfed by the cold luminous cube of her dorm, glides across the pitch-black lawn as if in slow motion--while, in stark contradiction to this dreamy image, the soundtrack blasts a scathing speed metal anthem. It's a fascinating aesthetic device that Argento will employ again later in the film, accompanying slow, quite action with crushing, thrashy music. In any case, when Jennifer naively admits that a maggot told her about Sophie's murder, the domineering headmistress (the astonishing-looking Dalila Di Lazzaro, who is no Alida Valli but she gets the job done) calls the men in the white coats. Jennifer is subject to a number of humiliating experiments and tests to evaluate her mental health ("Do you take anything? Like, do you understand...DRUGS?"), on which she storms out. Where Laura Palmer is almost totally alone in the world due to her perceived perfection, Jennifer Corvino is alienated by constant scrutiny.
Laura has just one, tragically ineffectual source of aid--generically, forces from the Black Lodge. The backwards-speaking Man From Another Place (Michael J. Anderson) seems to try to warn her and Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) of her fate, but he speaks only in poetic code. Cooper himself tries and fails to advise her through her dreams, and Laura also receives strange messages from one of her Meals On Wheels recipients. Mrs. Chalfont (Frances Bay) and her grandson, a mute junior magician who hides behind a disturbing pagan mask, try to intervene with Laura, but only manage to terrorize her further. Ordinary sources of support are absent or utterly corrupt, including Laura's mother (the inimitable Grace Zabriskie), who exists in a state of fragile, attenuated silence, unable to confront what she must know is happening between her husband and her daughter. Although Sarah Palmer also receives visions from the Black Lodge, she retreats from them in terror and resigns herself to her circumstances. She even accepts an obviously drugged libation from her husband before bedtime, when the trouble begins.
The great power of FIRE WALK WITH ME, and also Twin Peaks, is that Laura's father is not pure evil. Leland Palmer is given profound depth by Ray Wise, with his limitlessly expressive face, and unpredictable vacillation between warmth and violence. We simultaneously pity and fear him: He truly loves his daughter, urgently consoling her when they are confronted by the One-Armed Man (Al Strobel) in traffic, and making a tearful bedside appearance that amounts to a tacit admission of guilt. He evinces a genuine desire to be close to his daughter, which is unfortunately inseparable from his desire to be with her as a man. Leland is much more than a good guy by day, and a bad guy when possessed by an evil spirit; he caught in the unbridgeable schism that yawns between the aspirational ego-self, and the id, the self taken over by trauma and pathology. Within David Lynch's supernatural fable is a completely authentic story about mental illness and incest that strikes all the right psychological chords.
While Jennifer's father never becomes more than an idea, she does attract a separate father figure in the course her search for Sophie's killer, who may in fact be a serial killer. Donald Pleasance plays paraplegic forensic entomologist Dr. John McGregor, who happened to have been close friends with a previous victim. Jennifer meets him after one of her somnambulistic excursions, when she is led away from the scene of a near-gang rape by McGregor’s chimpanzee Inga. McGregor, who apparently has a way with teenage girls, quickly determines that Jennifer has a special connection to insects--specifically, he notes that a certain beetle in his care is trying to get it on with her: "You're arousing him, and he's doing his best to arouse you." While McGregor is meant to be charming, and never does anything explicitly inappropriate, his role in the story contributes to a feeling that Jennifer can never escape a certain freudian pattern, whether she is being accused of having sex with her father, actually pining for her father, or being eroticized by the nearest father figure in her life.
PHENOMENA takes much stranger strides in examining the maternal archetype in this saga--most often enacted by some form of wicked stepmother. By now we have been introduced to the idea of Jennifer's deadbeat mom, and the angry, jealous-seeming headmistress who tries to have Jennifer committed, but there is a third figure in play who the audience may have counted out at the beginning of the movie. Dario Argento's erstwhile creative and romantic partner Daria Nicolodi (from whom he separated the year of this film's release--and whatever it means, Argento cast his daughter Fiore, from another partnership, as the first victim) plays Frau Bruckner, an employee at the school who seems pretty dismissible at first. She suddenly becomes relevant toward the last act when McGregor is murdered by the mysterious killer. Seemingly sympathetic, Bruckner invites Jennifer to spend the night at her home--but once they're there, the helpful older woman becomes strange and threatening. Noticing a profusion of shrouded mirrors in the house, Jennifer prompts her hostess to deliver a disturbing monologue about her "sick" son, the product of a rape whom she considers a burden and a constant torment. "These things can happen in a woman's life," Bruckner observes darkly. Indeed, even a normal pregnancy is something that happens to a woman, something she cannot share with her husband nor her children. The child is under no natural obligation to empathize with the trials of motherhood, and inevitably, and a mother has little control over the person her child will become. This can be pretty bad news for the mother, but from the child's point of view, if you are primarily identified as something that has happened to your mother, then what can you possibly expect from her?
Things escalate quickly with the obviously bad-news Bruckner, leading to a chase that includes one of the gnarliest images ever to grace a screen: Jennifer, in her chic white-on-white uniform, plunges into a basement dungeon brimming with a stew of putrifying human remains. Jennifer struggles to tread water in this rancid soup as Bruckner taunts her; nearby, an interloping detective is chained to a wall, and uses Jennifer's diversion to break free and attack Bruckner with his chains chain. Jennifer flees the scene, and finds herself in the room of Bruckner's little boy. Foolishly, she sympathizes with him, perhaps as one abandoned and stigmatized child to another, and tells him that he is finally free of his evil mother. When she removes the shroud from a mirror, the child flies into a rage, revealing himself to be indescribably deformed and equally violent. He chases Jennifer out to a lake and onto a motorboat, in a scene curiously reminiscent of the end of FRIDAY THE 13TH. She summons a swarm of insects that skeletonize the boy, and makes her way to shore, only to be confronted by Bruckner. The madwoman confesses to murdering McGregor and others in order to hide her son's taste for schoolgirl blood, and nearly decapitates Jennifer with a piece of sheet metal--before she is attacked by Inga, the monkey, in a climactic battle that defies description, even by the standards of a movie that already stretches the definition of “over the top”. Then, as Wikipedia eloquently puts it, "With the ordeal over, Jennifer and the chimp embrace."
Even detractors of PHENOMENA will usually admit that its high camp is extremely entertaining. FIRE WALK WITH ME, on the other hand, has hardly a shred of humor, unlike the frequently kitschy and nostalgic Twin Peaks, making it a constant stream of wrenching terror and sadness. Laura's appalling fate is sealed by a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy: She is being raped by her father, which produces in her a suicidal self-loathing, which leads her down a path of dangerous prostitution, and then when her father discovers this activity, he does away with her. Although FWWM is much easier to identify as a work of art, its finale has problems that are not dissimilar to PHENOMENA, and I personally find it less easy to like. Half-possessed by Bob, Leland drags Laura and another young sex worker off to a disused train car. There, he savagely brutalizes both women in an aria of sadism, punctuated by hysterical confessions from Leland and Bob about their collaborative, lifelong victimization of Leland's child. It is hard to watch, and even harder to look away. This is all well and good, but then, as if Lynch had painted himself into a corner, something utterly untrue to the world of the film takes place. Referencing a gaudy religious painting in Laura's bedroom, an actual angel appears to her as her soul leaves her body and is relegated to the Black Lodge for eternity. If it is meant to be a hallucination, this is a lousy place for it, since Twin Peaks features literal ethereal figures all the time. If it is meant to be taken literally, and I believe it is, an angel is a lousy choice, since the Black Lodge is dominated by a distinctly non-Christian ideology, usually with Native American overtones. There is a single reference to a guardian angel in an especially terrible piece of the second season of Twin Peaks, but I would refuse to accept that as a reasonable excuse for this. Just to pour some salt in the wound, the angel is accompanied by opera music, marking a jarring aesthetic departure from the entire rest of the film and the show, which is characterized as much by Angelo Badalamenti's jazz score as anything else. Lynch could at least have cast Julee Cruise as the angel to help keep us in the mood, but no such luck. This interruption makes it hard to stay focused on the film's concluding image of Laura weeping in terror and relief, under Dale Cooper's benevolent gaze, in the Black Lodge. Oh well; fortunately, the rest of the film is so forceful that its resonance survives this gaffe.
Before I cut myself off, I would just like to make one further remark about FIRE WALK WITH ME. It is a serious shame that people remember Laura Palmer better than they remember the actress Sheryl Lee. Even fans who can easily name Lara Flynn Boyle and Sherilyn Fenn have a hard time calling Laura Palmer anything other than Laura Palmer. I'm not entirely sure what accounts for this, other than that the Laura Palmer character is so exciting to people that she has become more important as an archetype, than as a work of art executed by a skilled performer. It's completely unfair to Sheryl Lee, who gives us a performance that I wouldn't even want to live through myself. The woman has to cry throughout the entire film, which seems exhausting to say the least, but it's not a simple matter of emoting; she makes it so raw that it's terrifying to watch. Lee takes a simple line like "Who was that man? Do you know him?", and delivers it with the blistering urgency of a woman mounting the gallows. There is a lot to love about the formal composition of FWWM, but the truth is that without this actress's torturous commitment to making Laura Palmer psychologically correct, the whole structure might come crashing down. Everyone whose life has been touched by Twin Peaks, even those of us who relate more to the iconic Donna and Audrey, owe Sheryl Lee more thanks than we have given her.

Treatment Transformed My Relationship with My Mother
Originally posted on Caron
If you or someone you know is suffering from or at risk of an alcohol addiction, take the next step and reach out to a Caron specialist at 877-920-4849 or contact us online.
I was a 13-year-old girl when my mother went to treatment for substance use disorder for the last time. Today, I’m grateful that my mother is in long-term recovery and encourages me to share my experience. I’m about to graduate from medical school and I’m applying to become a resident in psychiatry. I want to raise awareness about the disease of addiction and offer hope to other families.
I find that my experience of having a mother who struggled with and ultimately recovered from a substance use disorder gives me a unique perspective. I marvel at the strength and determination it took my mom to achieve long-term recovery. I wouldn’t trade the special relationship I have with my mom today for anything. I’m able to approach my patients with the knowledge that, as difficult as things are, they can get better. Much better.
Early life with my mother My parents were very good at shielding me from the harsh reality of my mom’s illness. In fact, I believed things were “normal” for a time. It wasn’t until I was much older that I truly understood that addiction is a family disease, one that profoundly affects all members of a family.
I didn’t have many typical childhood experiences of going to friends’ houses or sleep away camp. Instead I became a professional child actor, something my mom loved, I think because it gave her a sense of purpose. She would travel with me to auditions and even went on tour with me when I was nine.
This was at the peak of her use, but I knew nothing about that. What I did know was that she wanted me to be an actor, and I wanted to do it because it made her happy. I took on that role for her: “My daughter’s following her dreams, and she’s a star.” I think I knew instinctively that she had to keep it together enough while on the road to get me to my next audition.
Once she was in a stable place in her recovery, I told her I no longer wanted to work as an actor. Instead, I wanted to become a doctor, like my father. I was surprised at how supportive she was of my decision. In fact, it was the first time I saw how much she changed in recovery – that she wanted me to do what was best for me – rather than what fulfilled her. It was also the first time I felt I could pursue something I genuinely wanted to do without the fear that she would fall apart.
As she recovered, the entire dynamic of our family changed. Our relationship shifted from walking on eggshells to a truly healthy and loving experience of sharing our lives and supporting each other.
Becoming a doctor I’ve known I wanted to be a doctor since senior year of high school. Coming into medical school, I thought I wanted to be a surgeon, just like my dad. Then, during a rotation in psychiatry, I discovered that my experiences with my mom gave me the gift of compassion and empathy. I was surprised because I had conflicted memories of my experiences with mental health professionals as a teen. In fact, I was dreading the rotation, as it hit too close to home.
My second consult was a patient struggling with substance use disorder who had just relapsed. I knew this woman wasn’t my mom, but I was worried my life with my mother would color my interactions with her. But something transformed me in the room that day. I connected with the patient on a unique level, bringing a different perspective to her struggles and the guilt she felt for her children and how she wanted to repair those relationships.
Since that day, I discovered a passion for psychiatry. Even on the most difficult days in my psychiatry rotation, I would go home and be eager to crack my textbooks to learn more about what I was seeing in my patients. Now, as I graduate, I am seeking a residency in psychiatry, perhaps even in addiction medicine.
Hope even in difficult times If you are a teenager or young adult, struggling with a parent in the throes of addiction or even in recovery, I want you to know that healing is possible. It won’t be easy, but it’s possible.
Although I was angry at times when my mom missed a birthday or a school event during her treatment at Caron, I also remember feeling a deep sense of relief that she was safe. It was the first time I accepted it was okay that she was getting help. When we visited her, I could tell she was feeling better because of how much healthier she looked. She was glowing and seemed more like herself.
Ultimately, forgiveness was an important part of my own process. I let go of the negativity so I wouldn’t stay stuck and so I could support my mom as we moved beyond that challenging time in our lives.
Stopping the Chaos If you are a parent struggling with addiction, I urge you to get help. The relationship I have with my mom now wouldn’t be possible if she hadn’t sought treatment and remained committed to recovery and overall wellness. Be open and be patient. It’s not going to happen overnight, and it might not happen the first time. But just because perhaps your first treatment experience didn’t lead to long-term recovery, doesn’t mean additional treatment won’t work in the future.
Your instincts may tell you that you can’t leave your children but sometimes stepping away to take care of yourself is the right choice. Addiction is a matter of life and death. If you continue to spiral, you run a real chance of not being there for your children at all, ever. I want to assure you that my mom leaving us to seek treatment was the best decision she ever made for herself and our family.

It may be a little late, but here is this week’s talentswap! Consider this a Talentswap Thursday (Hey, the alliteration is still there!). Introducing Myth, the Former Ultimate Cosplayer!
——————————————————-
BACKSTORY AND TALENT
Because she was wracked with scoliosis as a kid, Myth only had anime and the manga her parents bought as modes of entertainment. Luckily, with many operations, Myth managed to get on her feet and out into the real world. But because of her past, Myth only has anime characters (particularly shoujo heroines) to model her behavior around. Myth eventually became famous around school for her skill in textile work, and eventually she started getting commissions from her classmates. But perhaps what she is best known for is her uncannily-accurate and self-made cosplay. If there is an anime convention going on somewhere, you can always count on Myth being there with a brand new cosplay. Myth is now currently making a living as a professional cosplayer and model, but she’s currently taking some time off to chaperone this year’s Ultimates and Jr. Ultimates.
——————————————————-
RELATIONSHIPS
Wyre Anon, Former Ultimate Magician
When Myth first entered Hope’s Peak, the first person to catch her eye happened to be a charming magician in a tuxedo, the ideal mysterious and male shoujo lead. Even after figuring out that this seemingly charming guy just happens to be a loud and rough-and-tumble girl, Myth’s admiration and slight crush on Wyre didn’t fade in the slightest, and they are only the best of friends, even in their adult years. Myth loves to be Wyre’s adorable assistant in her magic shows, and Myth usually lets Wyre model her crossplays (in which Wyre looks damn stunning in them). If someone messes with Myth, Wyre hexes them for life.
Outfit: A black top hat with a ragged red rose on the top, black eyeshadow, a black coat over a white dress shirt with a popped collar, black dress pants and matching shoes and cape.
Anon Scar, Ultimate Astronaut
Despite only being a teenager, Scar managed to ace both the physical and academic exams that the prestigious astronomical institute hands out to her, and is on her way to become a full-fledged astronaut. The intelligence and caring/maternal nature of Scar are unconvincingly covered up by the self-created facade of being an evil alien overlord, being sent down by her superiors to conquer the entire galaxy, starting with Earth. Myth loves Scar’s dark aesthetic and lets Scar model her dark and elaborate dresses and suits. Scar secretly keeps the edgy cosplay Myth created, for they make her feel “powerful”.
Outfit: A black scarf with star badges, a black and white jumpsuit, black boots with yellow soles, makeup from original design.
Fusion Anon, Ultimate Detective
Originally working at his grandfather’s detective agency, Fusion was exposed to crime and investigation, ever since he was little. Originally handling simple cases, such as lost pet and infidelity cases, Fusion stumbled upon and eventually solved an elaborate homicide that eluded even his grandfather, earning him his status as the Ultimate Detective. With Fusion’s wild hair, enormous appetite, and cheerful, yet protective (and almost paternal) attitude, Myth thinks that Fusion wouldn’t be out of place in a shonen anime. Fusion happens to also be a massive anime nerd, which lead to the cosplayer and detective bonding easily.
Outfit: An oversized grey overcoat, a blue vest over a white dress shirt and a red necktie, blue pants, and black loafers, glasses from original design.
Fusion Anon II, Ultimate Adventurer
Sightings of a mysterious girl with a flowing dress and a sunhat cropping up all over the world made international headlines, with many people making theories on the true identity of this mysterious girl, especially since she responds to all questions directed towards her with either memes or sarcastic remarks. That mysterious girl eventually became known as Fusion II, who was eventually given a place to stay at Hope’s Peak, and was given the title of the Ultimate Adventurer, for the sheer scope of her globetrotting. Much to the dismay of the globetrotter, Myth figured out about Fusion II’s nerdy side, and wouldn’t stop bringing it up.
Outfit: A white sun hat with a red ribbon, a red pashmina scarf, a white parka with light blue fluff on the inside, a flowing blue skirt and grey hiking boots, sunglasses from original design.
Just Anon, Ultimate Entomologist
Being regarded as a prodigy when it comes to studies of animals and nature, Janon specializes in and is a pioneer in the study of insects, having discovered several new and previously-undiscovered species of insects, thanks to his fool-proof method of insect capturing: sleeping in the middle of the forest and letting the bugs crawl all over him. Myth is rather afraid of insects and she regularly turns to the lazy, cynical and foul-mouthed insect expert if she encounters a creepy-crawly, much to the annoyance of the helmeted scientist, who just wants to go to sleep with his insect friends surrounding him.
Outfit: A helmet that resembles a rhinoceros beetle, a camo-colored hoodie and matching pants, dirt-stained boots, face mask from original design.
Sparkle Anon, Former Ultimate Anthropologist
As a devout lover of foreign cultures, Sparkle wrote books detailing both her experiences traveling and the philosophies and mysteries of the charming foreign places that she visits. Sparkle also happens to be a devout lover of anime, particularly magical girl anime, and Myth’s cosplay of the leading lady of Sparkle‘s personal favorite magical girl anime. When Sparkle heard that the famous cosplayer would be chaperoning the Kibo-Con trip alongside her, Sparkle fangirled, to put it lightly. Myth and Sparkle love to roleplay as the two leads of Sparkle’s favorite magical girl anime and pretend their fighting the monster of the week.
Outfit: A brown overcoat draped over her shoulders Yasuhiro-style, a smaller brown jacket, dark blue gloves, a red-and-cream plaid skirt, black leggings, brown boots, glasses from original design.
Egg Anon, Former Ultimate Inventor, and Wet Sock Anon, Former Ultimate Pianist/Assassin
Despite the seemingly innocuous talents of the twins, Egg and Wet Sock are quite the devious duo, to put it extremely lightly. Wet Sock uses the alluring piano music that they play to shank people while they are in a trance and Egg invents the various weapons that are used in their twin’s assassinations. And that is ignoring the cursed comments that the two both sprout on a daily basis, that basically alienates them from practically all of their peers. While the cursed comments shatter the image of the “androgynous gentlemen” Myth thought they have, Myth simply adores the steampunk/mustache-twirling aesthetic that they both have. Egg’s Outfit: Black and brown goggles, a short-sleeved white shirt, black suspenders, short brown pants with a black tool belt, black and brown rocket boots.
Wet Sock’s Outfit: A black jacket over a white dress shirt and a red tie with a gold treble clef on the front, black pants, black shoes, glasses from original design.
Curious Anon, Jr. Ultimate Tennis Pro
As a student of one of the most prestigious schools in all of the country, Curious truly has it all: being cool-headed, helpful, rich, athletic, and just so darn adorable. Curious has a massive fanclub at their private school for precisely all of those things. Curious is famous all around the country, for both their affluential family and his unparalleled skill in tennis, despite both their age and their height. In her anime-inspired journey, Myth managed to find both the kind athlete and the oujo trope all in one. Curious is all too eager to help Myth model both her male and female cosplays, and Myth agrees with Curious’s fanclub on their looks.
Outfit: Hair tied back into a small ponytail with a green and yellow striped headband, a white tanktop, a green cardigan tied over their shoulders, green and red shorts, knee-high white socks, green and white tennis shoes.
Anon Nerd, Former Ultimate Child Caregiver
Having been born and raised in an orphanage, Nerd was accustomed to taking care of children, being prepared for just about any scenario that a child could find themselves in. But despite his prowess at taking care of children, Nerd’s personality isn’t exactly child-friendly, for he is foul-mouthed, foul-tempered, and despite caring for children 24-7, claims to hate children. Upon noticing the contrast between Nerd’s temperament and talent, Myth figured out that Nerd was the token tsundere love interest within seconds of meeting him. It helps that even the kids at Nerd‘s orphanage have taken quite the liking to having Myth as a mom.
Outfit: Tan cargo pants with child care supplies in each pocket, black, red, and white sneakers, dress shirt and tie from original design.
Eldritch Anon, Ultimate Aikido Master
Having been both born and raised at an isolated temple, with only his master to keep him company, Eldritch’s master taught Eldritch to never let his guard down against anybody, for they can and will take advantage of his small and weak build. This life-long message, along with Eldritch’s constant aikido training, resulted in a short but strong boy, who beats anything he sees as a threat into a bloody and bruised pulp, and to Eldritch, anything and anyone could be a threat, so he punches everybody just to be safe. Not even the adorable and innocent is safe from Eldritch’s paranoia-fueled pummeling, much to the wrath of Wyre.
Outfit: Hair in a long ponytail with a white Nippon Ichi headband, a black gakuran top over a white tank top, black pants, white socks, brown geta sandals that boost his height.
Dream Anon, Ultimate Artist
Because Dream was extremely creative but hyperactive and impulsive as a kid, Dream’s parents gave her a large canvas that she could draw on, and within 15 minutes, Dream made an indisputable masterpiece, much to the shock and amazement of her mom and dad. Dream eventually signed up for several art programs and became a master in practically all art forms, with sculpting and coloring being her two favorite mediums. Because of their similar talents and attitudes, Dream was basically the shonen answer to Myth’s shoujo persona, being hyper and boyish, in contrast to the bouncy and girly vibes Myth gave off.
Outfit: A black beret on her head, a pink and white striped sweater, blue paint-covered overalls, a tool belt with art supplies, pink slippers.
Iris Anon, Jr. Ultimate Maid
Despite her less-than-stellar past being raised on the streets, she was eventually found, cleaned up, and was adopted into an influential family as their maid. Iris delivers all service with a smile, whether that’d be cooking, cleaning, or simply entertaining guests and business partners of the influential family, making even the most stoic and ice-cold business magnates leave the estate with a giddy and amused smile on their face. Myth loved a girl who can pull off a classic French maid, and definitely tried sticking an eyepatch or a dragon tail and horns on Iris, when she wasn’t looking, but Iris was all too happy to model for her.
Outfit: A standard black and white French maid dress and black stockings with red Mary Janes being the only splash of color.
PURPL-3 (aka. Purple), Ultimate Robot
Having been created by only the greatest masterminds of robotic engineering, Purple was created to be a literate robot who could read and recite books for blind kids. Because of her very purpose, Purple has a massively large vocabulary and uses very old-fashioned and archaic terms in her daily speech. When Myth heard that she’d be chaperoning an actual robot, Myth thought she was having some sort of fever dream, but lo and behold, Purple arrived in all of her robotic and extremely timid glory. Myth internally thought that the world is becoming more and more like science fiction everyday, upon being aware of Purple‘s very existence.
Outfit: A black beret with a satellite antenna on top, pale metallic skin, purple helmet-like hair, and black armor-like plating.
This series centers around Myth, dazzling everyone with her skills as a cosplayer, and perhaps finding love with someone.
——————————————————-
PERSONALITY
Basically, after recovering from her scoliosis, Cosplayer!Myth decided to reinvent her previous shut-in personality, to be more appealing to others (which succeeded by the way). She chose to model her new personality after shoujo heroines. Despite being (seemingly) ditzy and a massive klutz, she compensates for that by being very kind-hearted and being like an emotional rock for her classmates and conmates. She’s very hardworking on her commissions, often sacrificing sleep to work on her costumes (she hides the eyebags with makeup). Just like with regular Myth, Cosplayer!Myth thinks a lot like a romance novel, often trying to woo her prospective love interest with shoujo tropes.
————————————————-——
APPEARANCE
Cosplayer!Myth has her naturally brown hair dyed purple and tied into two massive pigtails with two red bows with stars in the center. She wears contact lenses, and her outfit is a simple seira fuku with a white dress shirt, a light blue ribbon, a darker blue skirt, tall white socks, and black Mary Janes.
————-——————————————
Once again, I’d like to apologize for being late. But, I hope you like the talentswap anyways! Let me know what you think of this swap in your reblogs!
